Listened to the two mixes Marxo sent me today while I wrote, cleaned house and got ready for Pittsburgh. Good stuff. If the mix making muse ever strikes again, you got a listener in me.

Thanks, mam'selle. I actually have a new one on the verge of completion and hope to send out a bunch of packages soon.

Another excellent '90s-era Redd Kross song.

Derek's thanks for posting the link wary thread.

I'd known his name for many years but never heard his music and really didn't know anything about him.

Watching the video got me motivated to do a net search and finally find out something about him.

Had my Mike Patton fascination stoked by regular soaks in Tomahawk's first album in the wake of you-know-what and recent conversations with an old friend who is also a big fan. I've realized that there are even more projects than I knew about, and those have gotten a lot of play, but I've been giving a lot of time to FNM. They may be his most well-known collaboration but they fit in perfectly with the rest of his gonzo shit.

An offbeat treat:

Hard rock perfection:

Absolutely.  Not wild about every track on that album, but that one is potent.

Out of curiosity, which tracks don't do it for you? I pretty much like the whole album, but there are certainly certain tracks that aren't as powerful as others.

Just came back from visiting family in Boston and I always like to throw some local punk/hardcore onto my MP3 player when I go to another town. It adds an extra dimension to know that I'm listening to it in the general area where the music was born.

Beantown had some really great thrash bands, with Siege perhaps being the cream of the crop. Just wish they had recorded more. This is a personal fave:

Happily listening to the Halloween disc whipped up and sent out by a certain party on this very board.
