Re :   The Biggest Loser

There is a difference between interest and commitment.  When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when convenient.  When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results. – Kenneth Blanchard

Re :   The Biggest Loser

Just stopped by to see if possibly anyone had left feedback about Body Combat.  I took the 11am BC class on 5/31 and found it exhilirating and quite a workout.  I am not using a Body Bugg but I did invest in a LifeFitness Pedometer which also comes with software and an u/l and allows you to view your weekly activity.  I would love to have a Body Bugg but it would have come out of my vacation fund so I found this $39 alternative.  During the BC class my entire time reading stayed in the aerobic zone.  I will definitely be looking forward to BC.

We have such wonderful instuctors who are working very hard themselves to offer this program.  I am really thankful to be a member.

Keep up the hard work 'Biggest Loser' contestants, you will reap the benefits with every workout!

Re :   The Biggest Loser

I did not see the scale move that much since the contest. I have lost 4 inches in my waist and more in other parts of my body. My body is now more tone than anything. I'm not loosing muscle that's the good thing. But my team member are losing alot of weight. They are very excited. My body is adjusting to cardio and weights. I love the feeling after a workout and get a protein drink after a hard workout. Go Teams!!!! You Can Do It!!! Good luck to Everyone!!!

Hi Again Kathie,

Body Flow I absolutely enjoy and feel its helped me in preparing for the other classes.  I have taken one class a day missing only two days as of the 15th and did 3 classes on Friday to make up for the loss.  Friday, I did my first Body Step class and although I took dancing thats over 25 years ago.  I wondered where my coordination went during that class but I have overcome whether anyone is watching and realize the most important thing is for me to keep moving and trying.  Eventually, I have to get better, right?!  At least I am hopeful.  So if you see someone who can't keep up or is going in the opposite direction as everyone else in Body Step that might very well be ME!  Even when my muscles ache and I have to take Tylenol and Motrin before class, I will be there with a positive attitude and a smile.  Everyone seeks there own success but I like the instructors want to see everyones success.

About joining the club.  From day one I was impressed and only more so every day I am there.  This contest is eight weeks after that what is your plan?  For my family, we have a membership at the YMCA (where I never attended one class in over ten years of membership).  Our family enjoys the pool and I would not want to give that up.  Like many of us budget minded folks, I thought of how can I afford both memberships.    I  thought about what the cost of one visit to a doctor is per month and/or  costs RX prescribed, even with insurance the price would exceed the monthly membership.  The health I gain and keep now will save me $$$$ in the future.

On May 15, 2008...I officially joined the Workout Co. They even applied my registration fee from the contest to my membership registration $aving me  $50.  This is a club that cares about its members.  Also, the membership is deferred and actually begins when the contest ends, so that was a bonus 8 weeks for FREE!  This is a great time for Biggest Loser Contestants to get on board for making their journey for health and fitness long term.  It surely does not end at 8 weeks.  This is a commitment to yourself ~ You are worth it!  Best wishes for everyones success.

Happy to be Officially a Member!

Thanks Elizabeth!  Your words have inspired me to take that chance, besides God always provides a way and I trust that he will do so in this situation as well.  Soon I will also be and "Official Member".  Hope to see you around.

Oh someone said this contest was a great idea, and yes thanks to the sponsors for making this happen. This is a great idea. I had always wanted to work out but  not motivated enough to do it,now not only am I doing it for myself I'm doing it for other people.
Thank You to the sponsor of the biggest loser.

Yes, the joining fee is $199 usually but it's $99 and you pay $50/month for a single person.  They have family memberships too.

Hey,
Does anyone know which group classes are the least crowded?

Friday evening classes at 5:30 have been easy for me to get into.  My friend, Chere goes every morning at 5 am but I like to sleep, so I haven't been yet.

Re :   The Biggest Loser

I starting dieting about a month before the contest, I'd heard about the contest in passing but someone from my office came around with the information on getting involved.  My co-workers and I decided to form a team.  I couldn't do it without Chere, one of my teammates, she pushing me during classes and always encourages me.  The first week I basically walked on the treadmill, rode the "fat people" bikes and tried the rowing machines.  I loved it.  Then I was convinced to go to a Body Step class; I left crying.  You don't understand...I don't even dance.  I couldn't figure out the steps and felt like the biggest loser (not the winner of the contest).  I realize now that I just have to keep trying and I'll learn the steps, but I'll stick to Body Flow and Body Pump for now.  I always thought that Yoga was for tree huggers and hippee types but I absolutely love Body Flow, I can't move as well as I'd like to but that's why I've joined this contest to get moving more like I'd like to.  I can't thank The Workout Co. and it's owners enough for giving Houma, Thibodaux and Raceland the opportunity to get fit.  I am thinking of joining after the contest, just not sure I can swing the extra dollars.  Anyone else thinking of joining?

Kathie

Re :   Membership

I think you can if you sign up for the gym. Ask one of the workers to make sure on it. They will be glad to help you.

Re :   The Biggest Loser

I think it looks like an egg, which reminds me that I need to refresh my memory on how much protein my body needs with consideration to my physical activity increase.

I've heard great reports about some losing 10 or more pounds per week.  Then I receive an e-mail which mentioned the possibility of people quitting their teams.  WHAT IS THAT?  Quitters, I can't imagine anyone who signed up quitting at all.  The Workout Co. is awesome and the staff is outstanding, more than I ever could have expected.  I always thought of choosing a gym for their equipment but since May 1st, I now know the greatest asset is having the wonderful instructors.

Thanks to the dedicated and hard working instuctors, in two weeks I feel an incredible difference in my flexibility and strength.  I'd love to be at the gym am and pm but like everyone I have a busy schedule and find it impossible to coordinate twice a day to the gym.  Anyhow, I do my best to attend at least one class of instruction daily and within the first three classes I began craving working out and loving every minute I am at the gym.

Thanks to everyone who makes the Workout Co. the great club that it is.  Best wishes to all the teams for great success stories.  For me, I won the day I walked through the doors for my first instruction.

Stay strong, be safe and ENJOY every moment you spend at the Workout Co.

Pressing on toward my personal goal!

Calorieking.com is a great website.  Their Calorie and Fat Counter is a great guide for how many calories you are consuming.  It's small enough to carry in your purse and it also has a restraunt section that is very extensive.   Their software is also very good and easy to use, and they give you a 7 day free trial.

Re :   The Biggest Loser

I am so proud of my team we had a few set backs. Two team-mebers got hurt and were out for 5 days. But they will be up and bouncing again. It's a challange to work, study for a massage exam and meet the classes. It's a total life change. Eating habits and calorie logs. I found www.sparkpeople.com and joined for free. It logs food and daily exercise routines. It let you where you need to be and how much more activity you will need for the rest of the day. I have really enjoyed the nice people that I met. I like the high at the gym. Everyone is on FIRE!!!!!! Thanks Workout Co and Staff for keeping everyone updated and motivated!!!!!!!!

Re :   The Biggest Loser

Wow, where do I begin. I am 48 years old and have fought my weight for 30 of those years. I am a self proclaimed yo-yo dieter, enemy of exercise and my thinking was; life is too short to not eat and drink whatever I wanted. My problem being I didn't even have to be hungry to eat. Eating and being a couch potato was for the major part of my life a sport and I excelled. Forward to May 1, 2008, with the beginning of Biggest Loser on the Bayou and The Workout Co. both which gave me a big kick in the butt. I awoke to the fact that if I don't take advantage of this gift that I have been awarded which is this contest I will not be around to see my children and grandchildren grow up. I will not have only cheated them but myself. In the two weeks I have been on this adventure what a change I see in myself!!! Thank you Workout Co., and especially Chris whom everyday listens to me and encourages me to continue with just words of advise. Also,  Brandy and Body Pump, I love your class, wow you are awesome. Nicole and Body Step; you are an inspiration to me with your ultimate energy level and pushing me to that next level when I think I'm just about to hit the wall. Sorry guys but it is my intention to kick your booties in this competition and even if my team doesn't win the biggest loser, I am the biggest Winner!!!
