Topic :   Internet usage CAPed

Comcast is trying a new way to line their pockets off the everyday user of their service.

This means you could be stuck paying big bucks to play XBOX live while listening to winamp while monitoring your current ebay items. Checking your email or watching youtube & netflix type services.
Checkit here, :

This is a really bad Idea,
Comcast is the second largest provider in the US today. If we let them cap us, by the way, violates the contract I signed..., then the other providers see that this is the way of the future.
I know that 250G seems untouchable by today's honest users, but once this gets "wedged" into your current contract, that 250G will become 50G for the price your paying today. Then you have to fork over more and more capital to continue the lifestyle that your current bandwidth has made you accustom to. I live off my business and I require large amounts of FTP uploads & downloads to survive. Not to mention, I use remote desktop connections to control servers placed around my business area. There are thousands of people like me that this will effect and inflate the already large cost of remote IT services currently in place.
Again, 250G might be "generous" right now, but this time next year, It might be too expensive to check your netfix or youtube accounts every day. I'm surprised that e-commerce sites haven't already red flagged this somehow. Put up some sort of fight.

The average user doesn't realize how much bandwidth they or their family uses. 250G will go fast. Today's home has at least 3 computers & a VoIP phone service that even without an operator still constantly transfer information to the web. Anti-virus and windows updates are some of the most common. Not to mention the large amount of spyware most users have no clue is even running.

This will affect you sometime this year. If we roll over and take it, we will lose a lot of the freedom that we take advantage of and in the end, will pay triple the amount for much reduced services.
The web providers used to get an edge by providing faster service. What good is faster service if there is a cap on the bandwidth. You just pay more money to get to your cap faster, and pay more money once you go over.....
At this rate, your ISP is going to conduct business alot like your cell phone company. Just on a higher dollar scale. Lets face it, nobody really enjoys their cellular service provider, if your lucky, you just have the one that sucks the least!
