Hi everybody! I just wanted to reiterate what Sandy has already posted. Yes there is going to be a meeting Thursday amongst all the therapist and doctors that have been working with Mom at RIM. The general consensus so far is that she is doing so amazingly well, that more than likely they will decide that she is ready to come home on Friday. Bob was there yesterday when Doctor Horn, who is the doc in charge of Mom's case stopped by. Bob and him had a discussion about when Mom would be ready to go home, with Bob of the position that she is ready now. Doctor Horn said that he tended to agree with Bob, and as long as physical therapy signs off on her, he would be fine with Friday as a discharge date. Apparently the word from physical therapy is go, so unless someone has an objection during the meeting, Friday it will be.

I also discussed this with Mom's case manager at Blue Cross yesterday, and she has already been in touch with the case manager at RIM, discussing post discharge home care and outpatient therapy. I'm sure they will want to make sure that Bob and I can handle all of Mom's needs, and probably sent her to outpatient therapy two or three times a week for a while, and possibly even recommend a home care nurse to come by several times a week. However, let me assure you all that Mom's progress in the last ten days has been nothing less than staggering, and I strongly feel that whatever after care she needs will not be needed for long! She is truly amazing us all with her drive and recuperative powers, but then again, aside from the infection I had little doubt that Mom's a tough ol' bird, and no silly little aneurysm could keep her down!!

Good news everybody! I will make sure that word gets out as soon as we know for sure when she's coming home, even if I myself don't get around to posting. Thank you all again for your care, love and concern over these last few months. It looks as though this story may be coming to it's conclusion!

Thank you for the Epilogue Jon!

May I say through this particular chapter of life I have re-discovered just how important "Family" is in times of critical need!  At the same time I was re-introduced to the powerful determination and drive of your mom and dear cousin Pam!  We have all just witnessed how our love for each other (especially in regard to our imediate family) "drives and adrenalizes" us to aquire powers and abilities beyond that of the normal response in stark contrast to "routine" injury in life.  What a "beautiful miracle" Pamela is through this whole ordeal!  What an example of HOPE it was to us if may happen incur a similarly related physical injury in the future! How encouraging it was for "us" to KNOW and to WITNESS that we may be able to bounce back from such a life threatening injury with the intimate love and pure dedication from our family steppin' up to the plate and sitting by our bed side talking and speaking "love, hope, and encouragement" in our ears and gently and consistently to our spirit even when we are unconscious or unaware!

Pam and her family have shown us how our love can overcome ALL things and even more so in Christ Jesus!

So, let it be written ... and so let it be done!
That we ALL saw a complete "MIRACLE" on this side of heaven in this particular chapter of our lives!
Only this time ... it came to us in a very real way, through our dear Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin and Dear Friend, Pam, her loving family!!

May we all be blessed in this great witness in the power of our love in Christ Jesus!
Roger

Dear Jon and all,

What wonderful news from you.... I am sure you guys can take care of her right at home with therapy and hopefully visiting nurses. You have all come a long way, as she has, and it is only full speed ahead now.

Love to all of you,
Aunt Ilene
