I dont know if you guys see the same stuff i do, but if you can edit posts and do administrative stuff, sweet, if not, let me know and I'll see if I can figure out how you can.

I don't think anyone expects this to take off and spawn into some big forum like a mini-beckett, or tradingcardforum, or thebench... in fact, I'd rather that it didn't.

I'd like to just keep it a decent place, with a decent amount of decent people to discuss some decent  things. Most, if not all, of the people invited to be members are going to be prospectors. Why? because thats what I do, and thats who I roll with.

Whether this summer brings 10 members, or 100 members, whether it's slow and has 20 posts, or gains speed and has 300 posts, I'm comfortable with that. If it dies off and we all decide to forget about it, I'm fine with that too.

Among some of the things I'd like to see are less posts anyway. This isn't said to discourage anyone from making posts. Quite the contrary. I'd love to see posts and discussions. I'd love to make posts and participate in discussions. I'd like to read some thoughts and articles.. What I mean is, make posts, there just wont be 200 completely random posts a day, and thats a good thing.

I'd like to kick this topic off by hearing some ideas from you guys. At the moment, it's just a thing we're tampering with, and there won't be any members that you don't invite. That also brings to mind this: invite someone. Right now, its the only way we'll see any posts or responses. Before that though, let's figure out how to set this up, gather some ideas, and discuss what we want out of this place.

I'm all ears.

Sheets, I think we can move alot of the blog we're working on over here. We can have an articles section, and use that section as a blog of sorts.
Soccerman, you're a smart guy and a realist, so any ideas out of you - glad to hear them.

I have plans. Loose plans anyway. I'll give it some thought. I have time.

What I'm looking for is just a community away from the community. A smaller one, with less irritating people, less conflict, less people in general -  but More discussion, more interactivity, more involvement, and a better all-around environment.
This isn't my introduction to this forum, it's just a test. There's only going to be a handful of people reading it anyway. If you are, consider yourself a member of the board of directors on Gold Diggers. Speaking of Gold Diggers, I'm very well aware that it's a stupid name. Prospectors, Gold Diggers, you know, the old guys with the pick axe and beards, miner 49ers....It's just a name I put in to get this started. We can change that right away.

Take part in the test though. Reply. Respond.
Shoot out some ideas.

So many of us talk through IM's anyway, we may as well make a sub-community. At the very least, it's a place to post some thoughts without someone coming in and saying how stupid it is to spend 100 dollars on a guy who never played in the mlb.

I don't even know if it's set up and POSSIBLE for anyone to post yet, so if you can, please do.
