So I would like to know what everyone thinks about the fish, and birds dieing. We have dead birds now in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Sweden which is another country. Then dead fish in Arkansas, and now Maryland. So what are your thoughts on this?

I think it's mighty strange.  However, I do not think that it is
anything new.  I think the media is making a bigger deal about this than
what it is.  Nevertheless, it is still very strange.  Here is a cool
link I found that shows all the animal deaths around the world.

Yeah the media has been making a big deal out of it. I have not heard anything else about it. So maybe they got over that story lol.

Funny, as fast as the news hit the airwaves, it seems to have stopped.... has anybody heard anything else lately about critters dieing?

We need to take into account environmental factors.  For the fish:  Is there a possibility of some sort of toxic run-off from a nearby business?  Could there have been an upsurge in algal growth? (Or classic 'red tide'.) Or has there been some seismic activity that might have released gasses into the water that was toxic, altered the pH or salinity of the water?  All of these conditions have been documented in the past.

As for the birds....that one is a lot harder.  It is theorized that birds use the earth's magnetic fields as a type of compass for migrating.  If they are this senstive, could a drastic change of magnetic energy have other effects on them?  For instance, the massive solar flare we had this past week could do something like that.

Hmm....I find it highly unlikely toxic gas or whatever is killing fish at numerous places around the globe. However, coincidences do occur on occasion, although not very often in my opinion. Perhaps there is some kind of new bird disease that is spreading somehow? I don't know about any of it, but it is definitely an odd situation.

Toxic gas may occur more often than you think.  In Africa on two different occasions, toxic gas release in lakes killed off not only all of the fish, but most of the people living in two nearby villages.  (Thank you, Discovery Channel!)  Then there's still algae blooms.

I'm still scratching my head over the birds.

Regardless, I find it highly unlikely it's occurring simultaneously across the globe. Highly unlikely.

Well, just when you think it's over: Millions of Fish Found Dead in a Marina. Here is a link to the story:

They came up with a pretty logical explanation for it.  But we still don't know what's bugging the birds!
