I have never heard of the man killing his family story. I have, however, heard of the bigfoot-like creature. I think the man who talked to you was getting things confused.

I think it would depend on what kind of zombie.  The shambling kind would be easy to get away from.  Those fast ones, though...they'd be a problem.

Good points all.  Of course, there are other indicators pointing to the same time frame as being something significant.  I guess the big question is:  When the big day comes, where are you going to be??

Sometimes we come across questions that I think are best answered by simply saying, "I don't know."

This is one of those questions.

We could debate it back and forth; one argument stating that the end-of-days are upon us, and the other saying that people have been misinterpreting the signs for generations.  We could debate linear time vs. circular time and the like, but my guess is that December 12th, 2012, much like the millenium,  will come and go like every other day.

But then again, it may come and WE may go. I guess we won't know until we get there.

    Good luck everyone.

Um yeah! Think about it....if zombies were real then eventually you would be all alone because everyone would be a zombie and they would all be out to get you. The fact that they are always depicted as being contagious makes it so much worse. I guess when you break it down, I'm more afraid of being all alone and everyone else is gunning for me, not zombies themselves.

I'm going to go with the explanation that the Mayan calendar was just supposed to be reset at that date. That makes much mores sense to me than it's because that is when the world ends. Moreover, the date is the last day of the year, indicating, to me at least, it's just the last year they had at that point and would start over later. If I remember correctly, the Mayans viewed time as a more circular thing as opposed to our linear worldview.

They came up with a pretty logical explanation for it.  But we still don't know what's bugging the birds!

December 21, 2012 is being predicted to be the End of the World, or at least an End of an Era.  The Mayan Calendar ends on December 21.  It is also said that many other factors point to 12-21-2012 as a pivotal point in history.  What are your thoughts on the matter?  Do you know of another source of information that backs this belief up?  Or do your sources indicated another day?  Tell us what you think!

I laugh fear in the face... hahahahahahaaaaa!

But... roaches... I hate roaches. They make me scream like a girl, (um... no offense ladies)! Oh, and... I'm afraid of getting burned in a fire, falling off of buildings (or airplanes, or cliffs, or tall-tall trees), that's about it....

'cept bad guys with guns... kinda scared of that too...
    and... the IRS
and mean people with bombs strapped to their bodies... and knives, (gulp)...
and... sharks.... geez, they make me soil my drawers. But, I think that's it...

wait... one more thing... public speaking.... makes me break out in a sweat....
and... breaking down in the middle of the night in a park full of resurrected dinosaurs while driving a convertible hauling a load of raw meat... yikes.... don't like the thought of that either..... or....

    failure....

and death... I admit it... I'm kinda scared of death
well... not really death, but more the process of dying - hope I go easy when I go.

I couldn't agree more Cheyenne. I was just saying today that one reason people who are "sensitive" may have more ghosts around them is because the ghosts know that they can interact with that person.. at least more then they can interact with the rest of us.

Regardless, I find it highly unlikely it's occurring simultaneously across the globe. Highly unlikely.

I know! Right? If spiders had wings no one would ever leave their homes. They're bad enough crawling around and floating on spider silk.

FLYING SPIDERS???  Eyewwww!  That's enough to give anyone the heebie-jeebies.  Thanks for that, Cheyenne.  (shudder)

Toxic gas may occur more often than you think.  In Africa on two different occasions, toxic gas release in lakes killed off not only all of the fish, but most of the people living in two nearby villages.  (Thank you, Discovery Channel!)  Then there's still algae blooms.

I'm still scratching my head over the birds.

I firmly believe that ghosts notice u if u notice them. They seem to have the ability to sense when someone has sensitivity. I too have rules for the spirits in my home: they aren't allowed to try and scare people. But I have no problem with them interacting. One does like to scare my animals, but I don't count that because it's more of a startle than a scare. I made up that rule when he gave me nightmares every day and I got tired of it. No nightmares since I told him he couldn't scare anyone or I'd make him leave.

Hmm....I find it highly unlikely toxic gas or whatever is killing fish at numerous places around the globe. However, coincidences do occur on occasion, although not very often in my opinion. Perhaps there is some kind of new bird disease that is spreading somehow? I don't know about any of it, but it is definitely an odd situation.

Ugh! Spiders! If they could fly I'd never leave my house. And zombies! I'd die of fright if zombies were real. I'm so lucky that the only two things that scare me aren't real.

What scares you?  Is it the bump in the night?  The shape you see out of the corner of your eye?  Or are you one of those people who laugh at fear?    What does it take to scare you?

For me, it's when something leaps out of nowhere in my peripheral vision.  I'll jump right up to the ceiling, even if it's just a bird!

  • Re:  Birds, and Fish 02/18/2011 3:49 PM

We need to take into account environmental factors.  For the fish:  Is there a possibility of some sort of toxic run-off from a nearby business?  Could there have been an upsurge in algal growth? (Or classic 'red tide'.) Or has there been some seismic activity that might have released gasses into the water that was toxic, altered the pH or salinity of the water?  All of these conditions have been documented in the past.

As for the birds....that one is a lot harder.  It is theorized that birds use the earth's magnetic fields as a type of compass for migrating.  If they are this senstive, could a drastic change of magnetic energy have other effects on them?  For instance, the massive solar flare we had this past week could do something like that.
