I understand that completely. The going well is always in the early a.m before the day demands  us to be supermom, or super duper to all.

You ate what was reasonable and healthy. The day may become unreasonable. This is where we determine if we are eating IE or are eating what the day presents us. It is so hard to discern and break the habit, but a personal word from me to you is that the victory is there for you to claim it as you see your worth in Christ.

I am sad to say, if this is Carol, that this site does not notify me of content. Trust still that I am here and look frequently for those that need His love and support. We serve a risen Savior! God bless and provide your daily bread.

I'll let you know how today went, Candy.  I ate toast and soy milk for bk and then kept busy until 2pm so I was probably overly hungry.  I ate a cup of homemade veggie beef soup, toast, crackers, and a small portion of cheesecake.  At 4 I was hungry again and thought that was strange but took a little nap and it went away.  For supper we had chicken creole on toast and apple salad.  I was statisfied with a small protion.  I thought it was funny that the hunger went away and never seemed to come back.  I rarely drink anything but water... maybe a little juice once in awhile  and one cup of soy milk a day.    My folks weren't soda drinkers but my DH is.  I never go into that.  Probably a good thing.

Carol, what a TREMENDOUS victory to ignore that hunger, take a rest, and find it gone. That is the IE way. It takes a few weeks indeed to recognize that all hunger is not genuine hunger. We ask ourselves simple questions as how can I eat at 2 and be hungry again at 4? As Judge Judy says, "If it doesn't male sense, it isn't."

You made very good choices and I am glad that soy milk is available for you in this day and age. For anyone reading this, Carol cannot drink regular milk. (Am I right about that?) You might explain your condition to clarify.

I also do not turn down a small piece of desert if that is what I really want to top a meal off with, before I am full. IE is a wisdom plan. You chose wisely.

Barbara Ann is here and Nancy and Rosie are trying to register.  I think we will have a very personal group and will be able to achieve our goals this coming year, don't you?

From Carol today:

My DIL has lost 20lb in 6 weeks on WW so I have been asking her about her food plan. Seems she eats quiet a bit of bran cereal so yesterday I had bran buds mixed with regular cereal for breakfast and soup for lunch with a little more cereal I was thinking of eating some after supper but I was quite full and couldn't finish my supper of salad, venison, potato and bread. The fiber seemed to help with the hunger all day long. I think you just posted this on here, right?

Carol brought out a very good point on eating foods that are high in fiber that gives the stomach the full feeling longer. There are also other reasons:

Diet

Consume high-fiber foods in order maintain high energy and a healthy GI tract.

Discuss: The GI tract includes the mouth, throat, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and you get the picture. Let us have any intimate discussion of your in-wards. Do you make an effort to eat high fiber foods? Is it of value to your particular diet and why?

It's me again.  (Carol)  I've had a few good days with the increased fiber intake.  It seems to help with the hunger.  I did drink some soy milk right before bed last night because of extreme hunger and then awoke at 4 am with the same hunger.  I had eaten VERY light at supper.  I decided to pray and I went back to sleep.  I hope tonight goes better.  How is everyone else doing?

Hi Carol! I am so taken with you, sincerely. Most have abandoned any sense of dieting or self-control through this season, and you still keep plugging away and experimenting AND experiencing. Yes, we will have hunger signals that are real, and we choose to ignore them or indulge. When we indulge we are doing right when it is done with such sensibleness as you are doing. Remember this is a plan that is meant to accommodate you individually. And it takes your body awhile to discover that you are in charge. I like in 1 Cor. (?) where it says whatsoever we do, eat or drink or all things, we do it to the glory of God.  That is the concept of IE. We don't get it all at once because we might have spent our entire life eating in a total opposite direction. A salute from me to you today! And a halo on your head.

I am really glad you dove right into Proverbs already. That tells me I better get going today and upload some more.

Have a blessed Christmas Eve. I can almost hear His footsteps approaching if I still myself.

The same thing happened with the hunger last night.  I drank the soy milk at midnight and skipped the 4am hunger.  Strange.  Still trying to stick to the fiber.    Sometimes I think I need to eat a little more supper but maybe smaller meals more often will help.  I have been doing a little more work on the eliptical.  I noticed, Candy, that one of the Proverbs lessons dealt with exercise.  Do you exercise yet?  I have a hard time sticking to it for any length of time.  The Lord is so good in answering our prayers.  There is a line from a hymn we sing (the name has left me) that talks of God answering prayer whether "uttered or unexpressed".  I guess he can read minds just fine.

Praise God for each lesson learned, Carol. It is an answer to the many times we called out to God over our diet dilemma. Now it is His turn to teach, rather than we ask. Keep on learning how your body reacts. It takes time.

No, I have not added exercise. When I exercised I conquered a Stair master Dick bought for me. I was so proud as I worked myself up to doing an hour a day. From repetitive motion I blew out my knee. It took 8 months to heal. That was the end of my devotion to equipment. I still believe in exercise strongly, but not for me. The damage I did was not worth burning calories.

Have a blessed Christmas! How much family will be there?

Hi Candy.  Had a good day yesterday.  I ate really small portions for dinner wich made the grazing of the rest of day easier.  I had some soup at 7:30 and made it through the night without too much hunger.  Really tired today so I'm taking it easy.  My DH just doesn't understand how tired I get.  Stayed up late on the 24th with company and got up early the 25th to make homemade bread because I ran out of the bread in the freezer.  Now I need to get back to exercise.  When I'm really tired that just goes out the window.

Carol, I am glad you are experimenting and determining how best to set your hunger "thermostat".  Will be glad myself to start the New Year off with a new beginning.

How are you doing?
