North Korean head honcho, the little cherubic looking guy, just announced they are testing an ICBM capable nuke missile which can reach parts of the U.S. We have been "dicking" around with this little rogue nation since 1994 to no avail, & now this latest development with Trump in the wings as POTUS. Many think that China should be doing more to put a lid on this little N. Korean monster. The Chinese don't want to depose him, destabilize the country, force refugees into China, & the like. But the Chinese & we have lots of trade thingys in common.

& could Trump pressure the Chinese into helping us on this issue? China is the closest "reasonable" country to N. Korea with capability of actually doing something about the situation, & some think N. Korea is China's problem to solve. Could we team up with the Chinese to solve the problem? What say you?

China will do nothing for as long as it can. Not sure what Trump can do other than wipe out the north Korean leadership.

I think its up to the NK military to get rid of that fat ball of snot. They are the only ones who have constant contact to that dickless wonder and able to get the job done.

That's not going to happen.

Have you looked into the type of society they have there?  Cross the boss and you get creatively executed... as do your children and parents.  Work for the government, you have a comfortable life of ease and luxury, everyone else starves in terror.

There are escapee's, their biographies and reports are the stuff of dreams for tyrants and dictators, democrats and republicans.

The advantage of insinuations over hard arguments is that they bypass critical thought. No one can respond precisely to a charge that is utterly vague or to accusers who will envelope any reply in a poisonous fog of further insinuations. ~ David Warren, The Guardian

Saber rattling?  It is a dream that they become one Korea.

China interfered, supporting the weakening North with troops, so it's their responsibility to keep the world safe from the petty tyrant.  Sucked into another Vietnam, Afghanistan if we do anything, but China can influence better behavior with a phone call.

Watch Descendants of the Sun on Netflix....don't mistake it for simply a romantic comedy.  The music alone is worth it, but the underlying politics has a universality that's intriguing when you consider our military industrial complex.

So... the feds just announced that north korea could kill 90% of us with a high altitude EMP detonation.

That's not true but it is the sort of hyperbole the feds issue prior to doing something horrible.

Not likely.  Alaska, Hawaii and the territories are geographically isolated.  An EMP would leave you guys freezing in the dark... but not us.  Sorry.

want to solve the problem there, let the two koreas join.

the use has a habit of invading nations that can't defend itself. that is why NK is working on its nuke program.

I'm going to suggest the S. Koreans wouldn't like what N. Korea would do to them.

Yes, that's true.

sk doesn't like how much unification would cost them. but unification wouldn't have to happen over night.

sk doesn't need the usa to protect them. the american establishment likes smaller nations because they are easy to boss around.

There is nothing about north korea that is compatable with south korea.  It's not possible to mix a totalitarian state with a free state.

S.K. might be able to defend itself, they are wealthy enough to do so however when when side has nothing to lose and the other side has everything to lose... who has the advantage?
