First Winter Weekend
Last Thursday (Nov 21) it our temperature almost tied the record high temp for that day. (Mid 80s)
Then our the cold front came in around 5PM. Temps dropped over 50 degrees during the night with rain, sleet , snow. Temps stayed in the upper 20s for the day Friday.
Saturday morning was the opening of our first ever Winter Market in our town. Icy roads, cold temps with a small promise that things would not get much worse made a fitting opening day for the "Winter" Market. Had I not been invited to participate in the market, I might have stayed home.
We had the market in our old fire station which still had the heat hooked up in one area. Just so happened my booth was right below the overhead heater. This was good and this was not so good. Good when the heater would first start up. Then not so good as it took a long time for the heat to reach the thermostat, then when heater would shut off, cold air would blow to cool the heater down a bit.
Fourteen of twenty vendors made it and a bunch of folks came through. Made enough sells that I will be at the Dec 14 market, but I will be set up in another area away from the heater. A lot of people were interested to know how I made my items. One gentleman told me he could tell I made them with a computer. Told him I did use a computer to make and print the patterns. Then he stated you use a computer to do the cutting also. "No sir, I guide the wood through the saw by hand, no computer cutting." He walked away still thinking he was right. So, for the 14th market I will probably take my saw with me.
Great day and a great weekend.
