(from myspace) : Opium Dream Estate was born from the ashes of Sébastyén D.'s first musical project, Bedlam, in november 2006. In 2007, Opium Dream Estate recorded Alpha/Omega (a 8 tracks demo). In October, Sébastyén D. met Lélia, a French artist sharing the same interests for music, art, XIXth century literature and photography, etc. She first became Opium Dream Estate
's artworker and since February 2008, she officially has become the second member of Opium Dream Estate (lyrics, vocals, flutes and artworks).
Influenced by bands and artists such as the Cure, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Vast, Nine Inch Nails, Fields of the Nephilim, Mors Syphilitica, Sopor Aeternus & the Ensemble of Shadows, Faith & the Muse, Dead Can Dance, Autumn Tears, Chopin, Satie... and literature (Poe, Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Huysmans, Keats, Wilde, Yeats, etc.)
and Art, Opium Dream Estate is actually a musical, ethereal and artistic representation of Sébastyén D. and Lelia's world(s) : death, love, dreams, madness, darkness, memories, art, romanticism, mystery, nature, depair, pain, loss, etc.
So, come and enter Opium Dream Estate's world(s)... do not be afraid of losing yourself and do not forget : dreaming... nothing else to do !
The band is about to record its first LP, Estranged Memories, 14 tracks and hope to release it at the end of the year via the independent label, Palace of Worms. Besides, Opium Dream Estate may appear in Mick Mercer's new book, released in summer 2008 !
