This fairly new development of bodies buried there from the Manson days.....why now 40 years later, are detectives interested? I'd hate to see the area dug up for nothing or to disturb a legit burial ground. Or cordoned off for months.

I don't get why it was in the local news a month ago and it's just now making bigtime.  I'm thinking that my husband needs to convince the Daily News that he needs to go up there and cover a story and we can have a little Death Valley vacation.  We followed  Hahn on the DWP water trail a few years back when he was Mayor,  and vacationed in Bishop...so why not cash in on the Barker Ranch hype.

I just read the articles over now that I have more time, and I think it's just an excuse to use their "fancy" new discovery toys that didn't exist in 1969.

CNN's Nancy Grace featured the story tonight with the Inyo County Sheriff.

How many sat trucks can they park at Barker?

And, CCV, I think you may be onto something.

In response to the guy who thought they had Barker Ranch blocked off over on deathvalley.com, someone posted they were up there on March 15th - so that's one for the rumour mill for now.

Nothing new on the intardnets today. ABC news wrote up a new piece. If I still lived in DV, I'd at least hop right over to Ballarat and have a little chit chat and drive up to Goler.

Old ladies....you gotta love 'em!  I was just on the phone with my 84 year old Mom & I was asking her if she was keeping up with the Manson story.  She'd heard a little bit about it, but didn't know all of the details.  I was trying to explain to her about my friend Emmett who was involved with the story then and now. "Oh, you'd better stay away from him - you don't want to get up with those Manson people".  She practically refused to listen to my explanation of who Emmett was.  Geez!

Well,  ECVTim here... having some log in problems and I cant seem to get my forgotten password email to me (are they trying to tell me something ??  lol)  Six of us from our group from Billy Holcolm chapert 1069 of E. Clampus Vitus set out for Balarat on Friday morning and after a brief visit headed out to Goler wash.  One of the trucks got a flat before we even got to the begining of the wash so after changing it we parked it and all pilled into my Dads quad cab Ram from the trip up to Barker ranch.  We stopped buy a small cabin in Goler wash, I forget the name of it.  Signed the guest book and took some pictures (of which I'll post one of these days) and after a few wrong turnes we found Barker ranch there was a couple up there who took our picture on the front porch.  The inside is kinda thrashed and there is a lot missing at least from some earlier photos I've seen.    Not much in the way of wildlife unfortunatly,  just a few Deser t Iguana's and a few Chucks.  But its was a great day to be out in the desert with five of my closest friends.    And if your out that way, there is a new ECV plaque near the Tarona pinicals site... chack it out.

See ya all out there
Tim.
