An important thing is to make sure that you have safe space for your child to have his/her personal altar BEFORE
you begin. We decided to use a variety of places for each child. One
has a dresser top, another an old table we salvaged, while another made
his from the stackable mesh squares.
Candles are not an option
for young children. My children each have two battery operated candles
for their altars. If one is choosing to perform a ritual, I have an
additional 14 (I bought 2 dozen) that they can make construction paper
outer coverings for in the correct colors they wish to use. This has
worked extremely well.
