It's September!
We must be having fun, cuz time certainly is flying.

Barb, thanks so much for the beautiful new September Sign In Page!

Do you remember the old (very old) Ray Milland movie called "The Lost Weekend"?   That's what many of my days feel like these days.   I didn't sleep much the night before last and woke up feeling awful yesterday morning.  I had an appointment to have my hair cut and we had some other plans.  Mike said I looked "ashen" and asked if I didn't want to "call in sick".    I think I would have, but I was concerned the Dog Catcher would get me.  I was really looking Shaggy!

I'll post Mike's birthday pictures later.  I think his birthday is doing me in ~ lol.   On Monday, We went out for a wonderful lunch at 240 Union and then went to meet with the builder and his wife (ReMax Realtor) at the Patio Home site for 2 hours.   I still have soooo many questions, but we did also get some answers.   She had a little Lemon Birthday Cake for Mike, which she gave him when we left!   Lovely gesture, and it was delicious, too.

This Patio home is only a two bedroom and the second bedroom was quite small, but the builder said he would enlarge it by 2 1/2 feet to 12 x 13.5, which would make it a lot nicer.    We have decided NOT to keep a Guest Room in the future, but to just have a Hide-a-bed in a room that a guest could use, and the other 48-52 weeks out of the year use that room for ourselves, rather than having it unavailable to us just in case someone wants to come for a visit.

In looking at new homes, I can tell you that building new costs so much more than current houses are fetching, and other than being 'new', I'm not sure you're getting that much more bang for your buck.  The Patio Home we were looking at is almost the same footage as our house is, but it's sooooo much more expensive.   Of course it is on one level, and that's becoming paramount for us, and we wouldn't hate not having to worry about finding someone to maintain the lawn and shovel snow for us.   Still, it's a delima.

We came home, sat and visited about the house for an hour or so, then Mike started opening gifts.  We had a cup of coffee and a small slice of each cake (I got him a Black Forrest Chocolate cake) and came upstairs.
I spent most of the night wide awake, going back and forth between lots to build on, what we could or couldn't include, and how the heck I (as the family CFO) could come up with the bucks to pay for any of it.   The next day I felt like I'd been 'rode hard and put away wet'.  lol

After my haircut yesterday, we had breakfast at home and visited for a while, then I came upstairs and crashed and burned.   That's why you didn't see my smiling face yesterday.

annnieM, I did pass your Happy Birthday wishes on to Mike and he really appreciated them.

I'm glad you have a real reason for being so 'down', even if it is that you have a nasty old virus.   You really have to stay away from kids ~ and parents!   They are Germ Carriers!   We've had very vew colds of flu bugs since we stopped working and being exposed to Parents.   lol
I hope  you feel a whole lot better very soon!

Lou Ann, I passed your Happy Birthday wishes on to Mike, and he said Thank You!

I hope you're feeling better every day, too!  That bug you had has lasted a long time, and I know how miserable it is.

We've had cooler, nicer weather yesterday and today (high 70s, low 80s).  It's been grand, but we're back up to  the 90s tomorrow, I fear.

Have a Wonderful Hump Day, everyone.
Welcome to September!

Monday, August 31st

Happy Birthday Mike!

♫ Will I still need you
Will I still feed you
When you're 64? ♫
Yup.  It appears that I will.

We went to lunch at one of Mike's favorite restaurants, 240 Union in Lakewood.

http://www.240union.com/_home.php

He started with Beer Battered Grouper Cheek sliders with tartar sauce.  He said they were delicious.

The main reason he wanted to go to 240 Union was so he could have their signature 'Lobster Melt'
(Lobster, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Avacado, Tomato and a petite salad)
He said it was up to it's usual wonderful standard.

I had Radiatore ~ Maine Lobster, Fava Beans, Colorado Sweet Corn and pasta which looks like small radiators (according to our waiter) in a Sherry Cream Sauce.
I've never had anything in a Sherry Cream sauce that wasn't wonderful ~ lol.    I brought half of it home, and had it for dinner last night.

Dessert was a shared Almond Orange Flourless Chocolate Cake with Apricot Sauce and a cup of coffee.

Ahhhhhhh.

After lunch, we visited with the builders of the Meadow Ridge Patio Homes for a couple of hours.   No decisions, but lots of questions.

The owner's wife gave Mike a Lemon Birthday Cake ~ delicious!

Time for presents!

Shogun worked very hard to help Mike open his gifts.  Shredded paper all over the place, and we got to chase the Gift Bags from Family Room to Dining Room ~ and back.

He can hardly wait for Christmas!

Ut-oh.  Boys and their toys...

Mike got TWO Birthday Cakes!
One was a lucious lemon cake, and the other a Black Forest Chocolate Cake.

We had a small piece of each for dinner!  Yummy!

Where's MY cake, Dad?!?

Chrystie slept through the whole thing.

HELLO DOROTHY
MIKE LOOKS AS IF HE IS HAVING A VERY
LOVELY BIRTHDAY WEEKS.  THE CAKES LOOK
YUMMY AND I WOULD SO LOVE A PIECE OF EITHER OF THEM :)  JUST WHAT ARE ALL THOSE GIFTS HE OPENED?  I SEE A COUPLE
OF BOTTLES OF SOMETHING...WINE?
WHAT IS THE BOY TOY?
I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW BIG SHOWGUN  HAS GOTTEN ALREADY.  AND I KNOW HE HAS MORE GROWING TO DO.  HE IS SO BEAUTIFUL.
YOU ARE GETTING WAY TO STRESSED ABOUT
THIS POSSIBLE MOVE.  HAVE YOU LOOKED AT ANY HOMES FOR SALE THAT ALSO MIGHT FILL THE BILL?  PERHAPS THERE ARE ESTABLISHED "PATIO HOMES" THAT HAVE THE SAME TYPE SET UP, WITH LAWN AND SNOW WORK TAKEN CARE OF.  PERHAPS THAT WOULD BE A MORE REASONABLE ROUTE.
THOUGH IT MAY NOT BE EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT, YOU MAY BE HAPPIER WITH THE
LOWER PRICE TAG.
JUST A THOUGHT.
MY COUGH WILL PROBABLY LAST ANOTHER COUPLE WEEKS.  LAST NIGHT WAS HORRIBLE AND LONG AND TODAY I HAVE BEEN SO TIRED.  TONIGHT I MAY USE THE BENEDRYL AGAIN.  I WANT TO SLEEP.
IT HAS BEEN QUITE HOT HERE, BUT TOMORROW THE RAIN IS COMING.  SO MAYBE THINGS WILL SETTLE IN A LITTLE LOWER ON THE THERMOMETER.
POOR ANNNIEM. I HOPE SHE IS NOT SICKER.
HOPEFULLY SHE IS BABYING HERSELF AND ENJOYING HER LAST DAYS WITH KATIE BEFORE JEFF GETS HER.
I CANNOT BELIEVE IT IS SEPTEMBER ALREADY.  I AM HAPPY TO SEE SUMMER ENDING, ONLY BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN SUCH A WRETCHEDLY HOT ONE.  I LOVE AUTUMN, BUT THAT MEANS THAT WINTER IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER.  I AM SO AFRAID OF FALLING IN WINTER, THAT I HATE TO EVEN GO OUT.  OH WELL, NO SENSE WORRYING ABOUT IT NOW.
THANKS FOR THE GREAT SEPTEMBER PAGE.
HUGS,

Hi, All!

It looks like another beautiful day in the neighborhood today ~ we're only supposed to get to 78.   Lovely.

We were all set to watch the US Open (Tennis), but our boy Andy Roddick lost out in the first round.   Kinda takes the excitement out of it for us.   Of course, we'll still watch, but I'm a whole lot less enthused.

annnieM, thank you for the lovely new September pages.   You always have the cutest Icons and tags!
I hope you are beginning to feel better.

Lou Ann, I just love that border!

You asked about what was in the bottles Mike got.  He really isn't a 'big' drinker, but he does enjoy an occasional drink, and so do I.  The two bottles just "kicked it up a notch" for him.
The first one was Maker's Mark 46 (burbon), and one of the other gifts was a set of two double walled glass Manhattan glasses.  How anyone can drink Manhattans is beyond me, but he does enjoy one 'out' and recently thought he might occasionally like to make them at home.   The "46" is just a higher end version of Makers Mark.
The other bottle was 18 year old Glenlivit.  I didn't think my palate was sophisticated enough to tell the difference from 12 year old, but the difference is great enough that even my unsophisticated pallate can tell the difference ~ and how!  Heavenly.  I may have to buy another bottle for him, cuz I'm definitely not going to be able to say 'No' if he offers me a glass.  Ha.
The mugs were Bodum double walled beer mugs.  He will keep them in the freezer and the double walled insulation should keep a glass of beer nice and frosty to the end.  He doesn't drink very much beer, either, but he does enjoy an occasional Fat Tire or a Porter.

He also got some DVDs and a too-complex-for-my-little-brain-to-handle TV Remote.  You can program it to control I think it's up to 15 different divices and take out the trash ~ or something like that.  That outta keep him off the streets for a while.   Ha!
All in all, he's had a pretty nice birthday ~ not as nice as mine, but pretty nice.

Shogun really is getting big ~ I think he's gonna be a Moose!

I know you are right that if we could find an existing house, it would be easier and probably a lot cheaper!   Finding one in a Patio Home
community would be more challenging and there are other issues that "normal" people wouldn't have to consider, but it is one of the nagging thoughts in the back of my head, that the perfect house is out there somewhere for a whole lot less money.  It is SO hard to know what to do, and particularly now with the economy so screwed up.   My last two home selling and buying experiences were so much easier.  Both houses sold within days for the asking price, and since they were Company moves, all of the miscellaneous, closing and moving expenses were paid for by the Company for me.   If it had taken a long time to sell, it really wouldn't have been a worry.  Now, it's really scary and soooo much more expensive.   Knowing that we want this to be, as Mike calls it "Our Final Resting Place" (in other words, we don't want to ever have to move again), puts an additional strain on, too.

I hate that you still have the cough.  That's been so miserable for you.   This humid weather has been driving me crazy, and I know our humidity here, even though it's been unusually high, doesn't come close to your humidity.   I grew up in Minnesota and my brother was in Wisconsin.  I know about humidity.   I hated it then, and I hate it more now.   Modern Maturity, I guess.  Ha.  I do know that doesn't help with alergies and things that cause coughs and headaches.
Come on FALL!

Hi gals.  I was here yesterday.  I posted but I can't tell you where it went.  Dagnabit.  Zarah was here yesterday and there was no coffee so we went into town to her favorite coffee shop and bought some coffee.  She gave me a box of truffles that Jeff got from Sees in San Francisco.  They are really good!  Kind of strange giving a thank you present for watching the dog when I think that's present enough.  Zarah took her home yesterday, so now I am I missing Katie.  Dagnabit.  Still, I don't think I will get a pet.  Did I tell you that my beta died?  I am totally pet-less right now.

So nice to see you Lou Ann!  I hate that you're not feeling 100% and that you think the cough is going to last another couple weeks.  Dagnabit.  The heck with me babying myself!  You need to do that, not me.  If the Benadryl will help you sleep, do it!  Sleep is important!  I did spend lots of time yesterday with Katie.  Still, it wasn't enough.  I miss her.  I cannot believe the summer is gone either.  I do love autumn, just like you!  Please keep checking in…  I need to know how you are doing! I need to…  LOL.
Hi Dorothy!  What a wonderful birthday Mike had!  Tell him that he puts me to shame with what he likes to drink.  I like Southern Comfort which is like Boone's Farm compared to his fancy stuff.  I have never even tasted his fancy bourbon, let alone the Glenlivit.  Truth be told I don't even know what that is.  Is it scotch?  I sure don't envy you having the house search/purchasing ahead of you.  We were so lucky when we bought this 10 acres of land.  We got it for $20,000 and it already has appreciated to $75,000.  Unbelievable.  We were on a major budget when we built this house, but even so I wouldn't ever want to move.  They'll have to drag me kicking and screaming to the nursing home.

Speaking of nursing homes, did I tell you that my sisters former mother in law died?  My folks went on vacation and work on less than a month and the lady got sick and died in less time than that.  She never had to go to a nursing home.
Dagnabit.  My neck is itching like a son of a gun.  I'd better go put some gold bond lotion on it and tie my hands behind my back.  I never did get any calamine lotion, but I will put that on my shopping list for this weekend.
Right now I would be playing with Katie, right before lunch.  What am I going to do?
I guess I should be thankful I had her that week.  Sure wish we'd hear from some more of our Gals.  I wrote Mary Ann an e-mail and got told it was undeliverable.  Sure wish we'd hear.  Thank you Dorothy and Lou Ann for keeping this place going.  Hugs,

RE:SEPTEMBER SIGN IN THREAD

Hello ladies

We are finally getting some rain, but not nearly enough.  Things

are so dry around here.  I hope it rains some more tonight.  It is

only 65 degrees right now, lol.  Amazing!  Only in Wisconsin.

The high for tomorrow is supposed to be the low 60's.  We

cannot believe it but it is a nice reprieve.  I am sure it will not last.

Dorothy, seems that Mile did quite well for his birthday.  I am

not a drink connoisseur.  If I can taste the alcohol, I do not like

it, lol.  I do like vodka mixes...like a Screwdriver or a

Bloody Mary but that is it.  Or Sloe Gin.  That is what I started

with at 18, lol.  Also Tequila as in Sunrise and I love Margarita's

..the plain ones are my favorite.  Anything fruity, that I cannot

taste alcohol.  No wine, other than any of the Arbor Mists ones,

I love them all.  WIne coolers are good too.  So I am a baby

when it comes to drinking.  I absolutely detest beer...cannot

stomach it at all.  So I do not make a cheap date, lol.

What if you got a Realtor, spelled out exactly what you were

looking for and asked for any listings that fit the bill.  Check

them out on line first and if you like them...go see them.

Just maybe that ideal place is out there waiting for you to

discover it.  Let the Realtor do the initial work of finding

suitable places.  Just another thought...never know.

annnieM, I have been there and done that with the posts.

I was thinking that the slate borders were ones you had done

but I do not see any signature with them.  Are they yours?

Too bad that Katie had to go home.  Have you ever considered

a bird for a pet?  I really loved my cockatiels and wish I still

had them.  Yes, they can be noisy...but them you just cover

them and they quiet down.  Who knew that I would end up

quitting work and would have time for them.  They love

being with you and can be very affectionate.  One of mine

loved being scratched and petted.  And they were so amusing.

They can learn to talk.  Mine did learn a whistle tune that I

taught it.  They were a lot of fun and cleaning a bird cage is

not so difficult.  it may be an option for you.  You spend so much

time alone, you need something more than a fish.

MMMMMmmmmmmmm. See's chocolates...I love them.

There are co See's stores in this area of the states.  The only

way to get them is to order them and have them shipped

and that goes into too much money this time of the year

since it would have to be cold packed to shipping.

Maybe you should pick up some benedryl for your itching.

That is what I got mine for.  When I sweat, I itch wherever I

sweat.  Like I am allergic to my own sweat.  I had gotten to

where I was itching something awful and wherever I scratched

eczema was popping up and making it worse.  Also a cortisone

cream might help too.

Well. nothing new here.  So I guess I will say good night.

Hugs,

Border by Dorothy

It's the Labor Day Weekend.  Do you have big plans?
I think Mike's brother and sister-in-law from Iowa will be stopping by on Sunday ~ Monday.  They are in Colorado to pick up some Colorado Peaches in the Grand Junction area, and then will stop by for a visit before driving back home.  Too bad Lisa doesn't come today, so the house would be cleaner.   It doesn't look bad, but it always looks better after Lisa leaves.

I have some Shogun updates.   No, he hasn't mellowed out ~ lol.  Yesterday he stole a receipt from Mike's shirt pocket.   He just reached in with his paw and snagged it and took off with it!   smiley46

I think I told you that I entered a picture of him in a Pet Of The Month contest at the (Aimoo) Manager's Help Exchange in July and he won, so his picture was posted there all month.  Actually, it still is, though I don't understand why.  A cute dog won for August.

People were posting pet pictures in the BAMA group (run by the artists Bobbie and Marilyn Allen and Patricia Doyle) and Patricia said she loved Shogun's picture and might one day make a graphic of an Aby.  Would I be thrilled?   Ooooh, yeah.   I put up some more pictures of him to give her more examples.  (Ok.  Ok.  To 'encourage' her.  LOL)   Fingers crossed.

annnieM, I'm glad you were busy and not sick!   Busy having fun with Zarah and Katie-dog is a Good Thing.
I love that border, btw.

We don't drink the 'fancy stuff' normally either, and that's why I give it to Mike as a gift.  One of his favorite restaurants uses Makers Mark in their Manhattans and he says they make the best Manhattans.  (You couldn't prove it by me.  Yuk.  LOL)  He has decided he wants to make them at home now, and the "46" is Makers Mark's top end.
The Glenlivit (that's what they call it ~ 'The Glenlivit' ~ lol) is our favorite Scotch.  We'd never had the 18 year old before ~ that's kicking it up a couple of notches.

Least you think we're alcoholics, we rarely have two drinks in a week, more often none at home.  We usually have one when we go to a nicer restaurant.
Doctors always ask if you have more than two drinks a day, and we just laugh.  Not hardly.  Ha.

We have both always wanted land like yours, but now with both of us being so gimpy and unable to even walk on uneven grouond, much less take care of it, it just doesn't make sense for us anymore.  Shoulda moved when we could still MOVE.  Our timing always sucks, ya know?

I wrote Mary Ann too, before she left, hoping I could get the email address or phone number of the person she was staying with, and of course I got the mail back as undeliverable, too.  I really would like to have a way to contact someone who  could tell us how she is doing.

I wonder, too, if Bonnie ever had her surgery, and how she is doing.

Lou Ann, did you get your rain?  At least it's finally cooler ~ for a while.
I started on some of the same drinks you mention in my long lost youth.  I still enjoy a Margurita and though I haven't had one in ages, I know I'd like a Tequilla Sunrise again, too.     I never liked beer until I discovered dark beers.  Those I do like.   Wine coolers, no thank you.  lol.   Someone told me, again in my long lost youth, that Scotch was an acquired taste.  I aquired it with my very first sip!  lol   I've been a Scotch drinker forever.  I do also like the flavored Martini's.  So many flavors, so few nights out to try them.  LOL

I'll keep my fingers crossed that your weather stays nice and cool and you start to feel better soon!

Waving and blowing kisses to everyone else.

Hi Lou Ann!  Yes, I did make the slate borders but I see I did not put my name on them.  Oh well.  You sure are a girly girl when it comes to drinking--just the fruity ones where it doesn't taste like alcohol.  I love a good dark beer!  I like sipping Southern Comfort which is a sweet whiskey.  Last year I found out I like a gin and tonic with a twist of lime!  I think you have a good idea about a realtor for Dorothy and Mike, if a realtor will actually do all that.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if the ideal patio home was just waiting for them?!  I talked to my sister yesterday and she thinks I should get a dog.  I'm thinking about it, or some kind of pet.  Problem is quite a few people in my family are allergic to cats.  The sister who was trying to talk me into a dog is allergic to all pet dander, but since she is recently divorced she is thinking she needs a companion.  A four legged one.  I have had birds in the past, and I will have to think about that.  I have a sister who is deathly afraid of birds.  Sheesh.  My family needs to shape up.  LOL.   I have no idea what is going on with this rash.  It can't be a heat rash because I keep my house cool all the time.  I gave Dave instructions to bring home calamine lotion and I think I will tell him I need some cortisone cream too.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I need to make up an e-mail to send to all my family.  We are going to have a combined birthday party between my folks' birthdays.  Hopefully lots of people can come.  My mom will be 79 and my dad will be 83.  My sister originally wanted to know if this was the year my mom would be 80 and then we'd have a party.  I told her 79 was good enough to have a party!  Anyone who reaches this age should get a real party every year!  My oldest sister already has a new cake picked out, a chocolate mint layer cake.  I'm definitely ready to party!  Maybe we will have two cakes and have one with lemon filling as that is what my dad loves.  If Mike can have two cakes, LOL, so can we!

Waving hi to Dorothy who is probably typing as I am.  Hugs to all,

Hi Dorothy!  Sure enough, we were posting at the same time.  Labor Day weekend really snuck up on us.  We have no plans, in fact, Dave thought he would be working.  He can't because the job is at the Rapid City dump, and they aren't working.  I'm thinking fire pit, even if it is just the little patio one.  I'm thinking we will definitely grill turkey Italian sausages, my favorite!  How nice that you will be having company!  My house is an absolute pit!  When I had the light colored carpet Katie's hair did not show up, but now I see every little tuft she shed.  Of course, if I had the gumption I would just take my swiffer around, but then it would just need to be mopped.  We'll see.  We should definitely invite my folks out.  How cool that Shogan won the pet of the month!!  I do hope that Patricia will make a graphic of an Aby.  I would say you are right to keep encouraging her with pictures of your gorgeous little feller!  I've only tried scotch when I was younger so I will have to try it again.  I drink like you drink, once in a blue moon.  Tequila sunrises were yummy, if I remember right.  Our land is so bumpy that I don't enjoy going around it on my wheelchair.  I keep telling Dave to flatten it or make paths for me.  Hasn't happened yet.  I'll have to e-mail Bonnie again.  Last I heard from her she was staying away from doctors.  I'll let you know what I find out.

Rain, lovely rain, we got it and hopefully enough.  We

definitely did not get too much of it.  Things did not get

wild as I had hoped.  Went out this morning for my INR

and the wind was really picking up and it was cold and it

started to rain as we were going home.  I was hoping for

a rip roaring thunder storm.  That did not happen.  But we

got rain last night and today so things are looking

greener. It is 50 degrees out right now...I can hardly

believe it, lol.  Tomorrows high is only supposed to be

65.  It is supposed to get into the low 70's on Sunday.

We have no plans.  The sister that might have invited

us out has gone up north for the holiday weekend.  So

I suppose that I will not be getting my brat.  I have

only had one grilled one this summer.  Josh prepared it

for me and smothered it in catsup and mustard so it

was rather disappointing. I love them slightly charred

and right from the grill.  I do not mind them when they

have been placed into a brine but prefer them direct

from the grill.

Dorothy....scotch sucks, lol.  I remember saying it

tasted like wet cardboard when I tried it.  I definitely

do not have a sophisticated palette.  The only thing I

can think of that is worse is Vermoxen. (sp)  That stuff

is really poison, lol.

annnieM, I think a small dog would be your best bet.

There are breeds that are "non" allergenic.  I am

thinking that a lap dog would be just the ticket for you.

You need to get one that is already toilet trained so

that you do not have to do it.  That part would be

difficult for you.  I hope you can get together with

your parents this weekend.  Are they back from their

trip?  I do not care for Southern Comfort either.

But my sister Diane loves it.

Do we have Mary Ann's full name and the city she

lives in?  We could do a search on whitepages.com

and maybe get her home number and the family

that is living with her there could give us some info.

Worth a try is anyone knows it.

Have a great weekend one and all.

Hugs,

Good Morning everyone.

annnieM, Oops, we did it again.  lol.   Great minds, obviously.

It would be wonderful if you could get a pet, since you enjoy Katie so much and you are alone a fair bit of the time.   Does it cause a problem for your family's allergies when they come to visit and Katie has been there?  Maybe, worst case, you could just keep your pet in another room when they are there, if the residual 'dander' doesn't bother them after Katie has been there.   I know how wonderful it is to have your home open for everyone to visit, but you are the most important one.    Hey!  I have an idea ~ I'll send you Shogun!   (Naw.  I couldn't be that mean.   Ha.)

I hope your itch has stopped.
I certainly agree that a 79th birthday deservesto be celebrated in style!  It's kind of neat that your folks birthdays are close together so they can be celebrated together.  Obviously the combined parties need to last for more than just one day!

Lou Ann, great that you got rain even though you didn't get a rip roaring storm.   Your cool weather sounds lovely!

I'm not sure what Vermoxin is ~ I'll have to look it up.  Shows how informed I am ~ Ha!
Oooh, I just looked it up.  It's a nasty medicine!   How could you compare that to lovely, delicious, smokey Scotch?!   For Shame!   Lol!

Enjoy your lovely cool weather!

Good Morning all.

We haven't heard from Tom & Carolyn yet, but we're assuming they will be here sometime this afternoon.  Definitely takes away any guilt I might have for not having dinner waiting for them, when we don't even know for sure if/when they will be here.  Now you know why I understand when some of you mention family members who are casual about if/when they will arrive at your doorstep, or if/when they will 'host the bbq'.  Lol.
Makes me just a wee bit crazy, but I'm trying very hard not to stress about it.

It's supposed to reach the High 90's today ~ and then be in the low 70's tomorrow!   Crazy.

Hello Dorothy and annnieM

LOL, Dorothy, I told you I did not have a sophisticated palette. We used Vermoxen in drinking games...the kind where if you lose you had to take a drink. It really made you not want to lose.  Horrid stuff!!!!!  You could always send Shogun my way. I could withstand the torture :) I hope that your family stops in a timely manner.  Will you be going out to eat with them?

annnieM, hoping all is well with you.  I know what you mean about family shaping up.  One of my nephews is really afraid of out bird and it is just a parakeet.  But mom lets it come and go from it's cage all day.  Once he is back in the cage and it is evening she closes the door for the night.  He has 2 places he loves to be.  We have a small artificial tree that we got just for him and mom has a bell tied on a ribbon in it.  He loves to go over there and attack the bell and making it ring.  He also loves mirrors.  So he spends most of the day sitting up on a sconce that is on a mirror looking at himself and pecking the mirror.  Oh, I forgot about his girlfriend.  Near the sconces there is a shelf with figurines.  An elderly farm couple and 2 farm children that have an Amish look.  He is in love with the little girl.  He sits by her and pecks her face all the time.  It is so funny.  It is a good thing there is a rail on the shelf or she would have been smashed on the floor a long time ago.  We try to keep the bird in the cage when we are having company.

I did some creating today so have a pressie for you ladies.  I made some for others and will put them on the puck up thread, but will put yours here.  I actually did 2 with the same tut so will put the other on the who wants one id you are interested.

Hope you enjoy them.

Hugs,
