October 8
Barb (Noni2's) Birthday

Did you know??
October's birthstone is the Opal. The opal is thought to have the power to predict illness. This is because the opal responds to heat. Sickness increases body temperature before signs of illness appear. The increased body heat causes the opal to lose its shine, leaving it dull and lacking color. It is also said that the opal will crack if it is worn by someone who was not born in October.

The Zodiac sign for those born in this month is either Libra or Scorpio, depending on which day you were born.
In common years January starts on the same day of the week as October, but no other month starts on the same day of the week as October in leap years. October ends on the same day of the week as February every year and January in common years only.

The month October has become famous as "Red October", due to the Russian October revolution of 1917, although in the modern Gregorian calendar, the revolution started in November.

In the 19th century, the month of October was dedicated to the devotion of the rosary in Roman Catholic countries]

Slaves call it "yellow month", from the fading of the leaf; to the  Anglo Saxtons it was known as Winterfylleth, because at this full moon (fylleth) winter was supposed to begin

Libra is the only inanimate sign of the zodiac, all the others representing either humans or animals.

Librans are sensitive to the needs of others and have the gift, sometimes to an almost psychic extent, of understanding the emotional needs of their companions and meeting them with their own innate optimism - they are the kind of people of whom it is said, "They always make you feel better for having been with them." They are very social human beings. They loathe cruelty, viciousness and vulgarity and detest conflict between people, so they do their best to cooperate and compromise with everyone around them, and their ideal for their own circle and for society as a whole is unity.

Thank you Barb (Noni2) for the great new October Sign in Page!

Good Morning ~ Welcome to October!

Happy Birthday, Lou Ann!

Barb, Once again thank you for our lovely kick-off!  It's teriffic!   So many interesting bits of information.   I love reading them all.  Lots of special birthdays this month, too.

annnieM, I'm sure our City Father's and Mothers have no sense of humor, or I suspect more to the point don't trust the people not to do something they consider tasteless.   I think it would be fun to paint those ugly terminals for different seasons ~ how 'bout Orange with Jack-o-lantern faces for October, White with Snow Men Faces for Decenber-January, hearts in February, shamrocks in March . . . .    The city fathers and mothers would have appoplexy (whatever that is.  ha!)

I hope you are right about other people not noticing the ugly things as much as I do.   I hope we never have to sell the house ~ can't believe that would give "Curb Appeal".

We watched Hawaii-5-0 and didn't expect to think much of it.  We were surprised that we loved it, too!   A lot of our old favorite shows have come back ~ Castle, Bones, NCIS, etc.   I'll have to jog my memory to see what other new ones we have watched.

I love your tag ~ just made me laugh out loud.   I'm glad you got to spend the day playing with Katie.  Now kewl that she loves the bed that you got her.   She really does sound like a neat dog.

Lou Ann, we thought you had abandoned us..   lol.  (Naw.  We knew you would miss us as much as we'd miss you.)
Thanks for the input on the ugly boxes.  I'm trying to get past them in my head.   I hope we don't regret not moving down to the next lot where they do not live.  I'm choosing to believe that we'll  like the location better from inside, and hope the outside doesn't turn everyone off as much as it does me.  The house itself is going to be pretty, I think ~ IF you can get your eyes past those terminals.

Hey, say Hello to my great nephew.  He teaches in Wausaw.    I'll bet the drive will be gorjuss.  (or gorgeous).  Can't wait to see the pictures.   I do know (first hand) the limitations of taking pictures from the back seat.
I think maybe we will drive to Rocky  Mountain Nat'l Park on Monday.  That sounds like the only 'nice' day next week.  I hope we can go.  It's been a while.

The Ghost Girls in Apt 1?  lol.   I hope your new neighbors are good.

Have a wonderful trip ~ and stay healthy!

We go to sign the papers at 1:30 today.    I hope we aren't making a mistake.   Right this minute I feel good about it, but who knows how I will feel an hour after we sign.
We will go to the Hacienda Colorado after we sign to have a margarita and Mexican food (Mike's choice) and celebrate.  Or commiserate?   lol

Have a Mahvelous Monday!

Dorothy

I have been playing with Katie and when I came to say hi to you people my Internet was broke.  For some reason Dave didn't have power over in his shop, where our Internet connection comes from.  Oh well.  I'm here now.  It did take some pictures of Katie and I will see if they turned out.  She was laying on the rug right in front of my lift recliner.  She is not as fond of a hardwood floors as I am.  I swear, when I'm not playing with her she's just laying around moping and waiting for me to come talk to her.  She actually comes out here and looks at me expectantly.  I have no idea what she wants.  I gave her a fancy treats which was sweet potatoes rolled in pig ears or something, and she still comes looking for me.  Now she is lying here in the porch with me.  As far as I know she has not even her pig's ears rolled treat.  Oh well.

Hi Lou Ann!  Happy birthday and have a great trip!  I hope you have the best birthday ever!  I'm so glad that you got to go with your friends on this trip.

Hi Ðorothy!  I agree completely that the people who run cities have no sense of humor.  I doubt they would appreciate us painting our electric boxes.  I really do think that should be something that is allowed… especially snowman for wintertime and smiley faces.  I'm sure the big mtyketty-mucks would argue that not everyone would paint acceptably.  Bah humbug.  I did watch Bones last night and I'm not happy at all that Booth found a woman.  I absolutely love that Angie and Hodgens (sp) are married and going to have a baby.  I don't think I would like the skinny chick on Hawaii 5-0, but I like her!  I like all of the characters!  Of course I love Castle & NCIS.  That tag was an old one that kittywhiskers made me.  I was in Photo bucket and I noticed all of the people who make me tags in the past that have fallen by the wayside.  I'm not really a dog person, but Katie is the best!  I think she could convince anyone to be a dog person!  I'm so happy for you and Mike!  You are going to absolutely love having your house on one level!  Have a Margarita for me!  Congratulations!  I would say have a fantastic Friday, but that's just me.  If you want us to have a marvelous Monday we'll pretend.  Hugs,

Good Morning.
It's actually a bit Fallish today, only going to get to 73.   Yesterday it was 85.  Pretty 'Summery' for October.   Traditionally we can expect some snow this month, but I wouldn't expect it to stay on the ground long. (Famous last words.  Last year we had our Lawn Guy scheduled to do lawn clean up, and it snowed and the snow never melted until Spring!)

We did it!   We signed the papers to have our house built yesterday, and money exchanged hands.   Unfortunately the money did not come from their hands into ours, but . . . .  Afterwards we went to the Hacienda Colorado for Mexican Food and Margaritas.  We brought home enough leftovers to provide dinner for tonight.   You all know how I love a meal that keeps on giving!

I did start a another thread to show you floor plans and discuss what is going on, and get your  input without making everyone who might not be all that interested or have the time to have to read about it here.    This definitely isn't the house we once dreamed about, but I think  that maybe now it's the house we need.

annnieM, I think Katie was saying "Come on!  Don't you want to play some more?"   Too cute.  It sounds to me like she loves you as much as you love her.

Oh my gosh, can you see what this house buying has done to my poor little brain?   I think I really did believe it was Monday.  What day is today?    LOL!

Lou Ann, I hope you are having a wonderful time and staying healthy and feeling good!   Can't wait to see your pictures!

Have a Swell Saturday, everyone.

Good Morning Ladies

First I want to say a Big Happy Belated Birthday to Lou Ann
I did post on your page in facebook tho on the day.
Hope you had a wonderful Birthday.

Burr it's chilly here we are now at 43F will see the very low 50's today with cloud cover and chance of showers.
We had a very nice time with Morgan yesterday, she was a real joy to be with, she is talking up a storm now and thankfully I can understand what she is saying most times.
live everyone else she has the sniffles and watery eyes so she maybe coming down with a fall cold.
Thanksgiving dinner was mentioned I'm not sure who brought up the subject either Tom or Rob but Rob said he hasen't heard anything from Karyne's or her Mother about what is going on for the Holiday well it's no surprise to me that Karyne's Mother hadn't mentioned anything they don't make plans till a few days before anyway.
then Rob mentioned he wanted to celebrate the three Birthdays Karyne's, Mine and Karyne's Mother at the same time, we are all a few days apart.
if it's anything like last year I sure wont expect much,I got a cake mix to make my Birthday cake,I have the turkey and all the trimmings for my Thanksgiving dinner
so things with me are just fine
don't care what anyone one else is planning, I got my things together.

Dorothy
CONGRATULATIONS
Your a new home owner.
I just posted in your House thread, I thought for sure I did yesterday but I didn't..
the house is so awesome.
really love the floor plan.
I guess the ones that clean grass, weeds and snow.ice from those big community mail box units is first some first to clean up but I agree with you it's the people living with that community mail box that will get to clean it.

annnieM
so sorry you lost your Internet, happy Dave got you back up and running.
You and Katie always have a great time together, she loves being with you.
be careful with those pig ear dog treats my Dad;s dachshund chocked in one a while ago.

I forgot to mention that on Monday Tom got a letter in the mail, he needs to report for jury duty on Monday/tomorrow
not sure where he had to go/park we took a drive on the way home from Rob's and he thinks it's doable lol
he and I too hope either he don't get called or if they do call him it's not a long and drawn out trial.
Tomorrow I get my hair cut, good thing my hair dresser is not too far a way, it will be a nice brisk walk there and back.
No big plans for today think I will make a post of pasta sauce for dinner tonight.

Wishing Everyone a Great Day

Good Morning Everyone.

Barb ~ Brrrrr.  Definitely  the nip of Fall in your air.
As you know, our families are a lot like  yours as far as advance planning goes, but I do wish you could nail things down a bit better so you could make YOUR plans.   My very strong suspicion is that if  you hosted Thanksgiving or the Birthday Celebration, it would be a whole lot better celebrations.   (Hey, I can say stuff like that, cuz I'm all the way out here in Colorado and nobody can even give me "the look".   Lol)   Anyway, I love that you are going ahead with your plans no matter what anybody else does.

Thanks.  I'm glad you like the floor plan.   The first ones we looked at had floor plans we might have liked even better, but I hated the stairs to the basement that were the first things you saw as you walked in the door.   I just couldn't get past that.   At first I was disappointed at not having more rooms (I don't know why ~ ha), but now I'm thinking this may work quiet well for us.

This certainly isn't the house we thought we wanted when we looked several years ago, but I  think that now, maybe, it's the house we need.   We always thought we wanted at least an acre and a bigger house, but now somehow that doesn't seem as important.   Having easy access and not having to worry about the yard work  and snow removal seems more important now.

Mike is very happy about not having to go down the block to pick up our mail from the communal box when we move.  There will be two 'old fashioned' mail boxes on posts on the boulevard between our next door neighbor's house and ours. We'll just have to walk the length of the driveway, and since our driveway will be shortened with the garage being extended, that shouldn't be too bad.

Oh, no!   Jury duty!   Actually it could be interesting if you don't have to go to far and it doesn't drag on too long.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for Tom.

My haircut is on Tuesday, so we'll both be beautiful then.   We were going to go for a drive in the mountains tomorrow, but since the weather forcast changed and it should still be sunny on Tuesday, we're going to go after my haircut instead.

Have a great day everyone!

Better late than never.  This morning we went out for breakfast.  I had what the chef called a 2 bite quiche.  30 bites later I still have half of it left!  It was made in a monster muffin tin drum and was stuffed with diced ham and cheddar cheese and mushrooms and served with a side of salsa.  It was excellent!  We just went to Dave's favorite restaurant, which isn't real fancy but has good food.  We brought home a piece of Oregon berry pie to share.  I figure this weekend is the kickoff for my birthday week.  Last night we ordered from the Chinese restaurant and I had sesame chicken in a combination plate that was supposed to include an egg roll, and they forgot my egg roll.  I didn't let it bother me, although I told Dave to call and complain.  He didn't.  So much for my egg roll.  I wanted to stop at the farmers market when we went to Rapid City but it being October, there is no longer a farmers market.  Quite often in the past we've had snow by now.  Today it is in the high sixties if not higher.  Beautiful day!

Hi Ðorothy!  I went to look at the floor plan for your house, but I wanted to zoom in and I wanted measurements.  LOL.  First impression's that it's gorjuss!  Congratulations on signing the papers!  I think you will find that ease of access and not having to worry about yard work and snow removal is going to be great!

Hi Barb!  Glad that you had a great time with Morgan!  Always fun when you can understand the little ones!  Glad to hear that you have everything for a birthday celebration!  I hope that Tom's jury duty goes well.  Before I got all gimped up, I got to server and was tickled pink.

I'm way behind so I will just say hi and wishing everyone a special Sunday!

Hello Everyone.
Welcome to the start of a brand new week.
We're still experiencing Summer weather (mid 80s).

Tomorrow I get my hair cut.  I swear she must use Rapid Grow when she shampoos me.  I go every five weeks, and have it cut short but by the time I come back it's really getting long.  Afterwards we're going to drive to Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park to see if we can catch some Fall Color.   We haven't been there in ages, and "catching the color" can be challenging.   You're either too early or too late, and everything can change overnight.   We haven't had any cold weather yet, so I'm not sure how much color we'll see, but I will take my camera.

annnieM, your two bite quiche that was still half there after 30 bites sounded fun and fabulous!    So often the restaurants that aren't as fancy have the BEST food.  We used to love to go to the breakfast restaurants in the Quad Cities when we visited Mike's folks.  We were always shocked by how 'cheap' they were compared to the restaurants in Denver, and they were always so good.   Kind of miss that ~~ not enough to make the day and a half drive each way, though.  Ha.

I love Sesame Chicken, but I always ask for it Mild.  Could we still share it?    I'm so delighted that you have started celebrating your birthday week!   Sounds like you are off to a good start, even if you didn't get your egg roll!

Oh, I'm so glad you like the floor plan for our house!   I HOPE it's just right, but of course I won't know for sure until we've lived there for a while ~ and then it will be too late!    When we built this house, we didn't expect to live here forever, or even as long as we have, so it was less important to get it right.   I really enjoyed this floor plan when I was younger and not a physical wreck, but now the stairs are not my friends.
We think of this new house as the last house we may buy, or as Mike calls it "Our Final Resting Place" so the decisions we make become more important.

Boy, I'd love to be able to zoom in and see the dimensions of the rooms and such, too!   Getting the dimensions is like pulling teeth!   They don't have them readily available (!) so they get out the official floor plans and calculate them every time I ask.   I swear I get different results every time I talk to them.   I only feel confident if DaveTheBuilder tells me himself.  And then I'm not positive.   Frustrating.   Apparently no one else has felt it was important to know, or they'd have the figures readily available.

When I asked about enlarged doors (and they saw how much trouble Mike and I are having getting up and down their entry stairs) Dave suggested enlarging that guest bathroom by 6 inches so he could put in a 30 door (I'm afraid to ask for a 32"!) and the bathroom would be more accessable.   I hate taking the 6 inches out of the kitchen so I almost decided not to do it, thinking if one of us were in a WC we would use our Master bathroom, and if a guest were in a WC, they could use that too.   Then I realized that though our Master Bath is pretty large, we will have a 'Water closet'.   I suspect Water Closets are not Wheelchair friendly!   Sooo, we are enlarging the guest bathroom, taking the 6 inches from the kitchen.   The kitchen is large, so it shouldn't be a problem.    We are also probably going to take another 3 inches from the kitchen and 3 from the library to add them to the second bedroom (DJ's hide-a-way?), and Dave recommended taking another foot from the entryway to add to the second bedroom, guest linen closet and library.   I'm not so sure about that.  I love the effect of the large entryway/hallway.   Maybe we'll take 6 inches.   (See why I'm going crazy?)

If you have any other thoughts on how we can make the house more accessable 'just in case', please share!

This week we need to pick out the Stone Face and exterior paint colors and doors.   Both exciting and scary, cuz if we pick the wrong Stone Face we'll have to live with it forever.

Lou Ann, I hope you had the most wonderful time!

Sending healing thoughts to Mary Ann

smiley67  Hi!!!

Hi Dorothy!  I remember we really tweaked our floor plans too.  Can't you get a copy of the floor plans?  We had a copy of the floor plans and all the dimensions while we were tweaking.  I can't believe they don't have that figures readily available for buyers.  I do believe that putting in bigger doors is a hassle.  30 inch doors aren't so hard to accommodate.  I just love that you are having a library!  I do see why you are going crazy!  I think I would like the effect of the large entry also, so maybe 6 inches.  I think you should demand floor plans complete with dimensions.  I'll have to go look at your site and the stone face choices.

Hi Lou Ann!  I hope you had a great time!  I can hardly wait to hear all about it!

Over the weekend I got a package ready to send to my friend in Indiana who has had such a time with this cancer.  She has made it through chemo and is hoping to start radiation soon.  We're sending them some of Dave's homemade pickles and jam.  Dave will take it to the post office and mail it today.  This week I go to the counselor and I also go to my GP.  Thursday I have a lab work, a fasting blood sugar and 8:00 AM and then we will go to breakfast.  Tomorrow is the counselor and we may go to lunch before, celebrating my birthday.  One night this week Zarah and Jeff are supposed to come for barbecued ribs.  They will pick up Katie then.  For now, Katie is part of my continuing birthday week!

Hi to everyone!  Hugs,

Good Morning Ladies

not too bad of a start to the day here it's now 50F will see 55 today with showers, maybe to day we will get the rain, not a drop has fallen in days.

Tom didn't get home till a bit after 5 last night what a long day, he said he is use to sitting around but not sitting around not knowing what will happen next.

he has to go back tomorrow for more briefing then maybe he will know if he gets chosen or not, if he is chosen this trial could last 6 to 8 weeks but he can come home so that was good news.

I got my hair cut yesterday she left it a bit longer this time, she stiled it so it looked a bit like Reba's hair when she had her show

I love it but I know I can never style it like that. so it looked great for a few hours.

Dorothy

Wow your still nice and warm there,it's sure feeling like fall here.

Yes your right we have had fall like weather most of the summer, maybe winter will be warm lol

Ya know I feel the same I wont have an open house meal unless i plan for it,if your invited fine if not please wait to drop in at a later time, but if your family paying me a surprise visit from back home you will be welcomed with open arms.

Oh Me Too i hate when everyone tries to gather in the kitchen while I'm in there going last minute things, for one thing my kitchen is very small and another reason I don't need someone telling me I should do this or make that like this,

My Mom didn't raise no fool in the kitchen!.

At first I was very annoyed at Karyne's parents for hogging all the Holiday dinners then thought hey this is not all that bad, I don't have to shop, prepare anything, wont have a messier house I just go eat, chat and leave..I can cope with that lol.

Hi Ayla!  So very nice to see you!  I don't like hearing that everything is just so-so with you.  Always nice when you pop in and say hi!

Hi Lou Ann!  I'm glad that you said the trip was the best of times as well as the worst of times.  I'm sure that your friends treated you to a very special birthday!  I will be very excited to see your pictures and hear more.

Hi Barb!  Sorry that Tom had such a long day at jury duty.  There must be a big trial that it's going to last six or eight weeks!  So you look like Reba!  Wowsers!  I love the idea of the stairway you had for Mike and Dorothy!  Looks like fun!

We woke to 71° outside.  It was supposed to be 57° according to the weather forecast.  They were way wrong, obviously.  The high was supposed to be 70 something.  Sheesh.  I have an appointment with a counselor this afternoon so we are going out to lunch.  I haven't figured out where yet.  I'm really doing this birthday up great!

Hello ladies.
I posted a thread with some pictures that I hope
annnieM or Dorothy with stick it up higher on the page so others will see it. Dorothy will be on her
Mountain drive today and I am sure she will have fabulous pictures to share.

I will tell my tale a little at a time. Just keep in mind that sitting upright with my legs down is very uncomfortable for me. So lets say the trip up north turned into a long, drawn out ordeal, lol.
Louann and Bruce picked me up and got my gear stored. The next stop was a their daughter Kirstie's to pick up her and Nick and Cooper, their Jack Russell Terrier. I do love him he is so much fun. Kirstie and Nick are getting married in the Spring. Nick was the young man that was in Afghanistan. We got all their gear stored and then it was on to Oshkosh. There we went to Nerissa's place to pick up Hailey her Yellow Lab. She and Matt would be coming up the next day but directly from a wedding in Madison so we needed to get her dog. Rissa and Matt have been dating since Dec. Louann and Bruce think she will be getting a ring for Christmas. Matt's parents have asked Nerissa how she would feel about getting an annulment. I am not sure how she feels about it, but I think it is just another way for the Catholic Church to gouge you for money. Now on to Nan's house to get her and get her gear stored.  Now we are altogether and it is where shall we eat. I was starting to feel a little nauseous. We decided to do fast food and eat on the road as we had a 2 hour drive yet. Dairy Queen was handy so that fit the bill. I had a fish sandwhich and a Sprite as I though they would be easier on the tummy. So this was my birthday dinner :( Now we are on the road and I am sooooo cold and then I start shivering. They gave me a blanket to cover with. It did not help. Everyone else was warm and toasty and I was freezing. It was then I knew I was starting to run a temp. I had goosebumps everywhere. We got to the cottage and my butt and back hurt and I was freezing. We got inside and they jacked up the heat. I got into the big recliner right by the heater vent. I was fully dressed with an additional sweater on, I had my coat over my legs and they found a huge, heavy thick blank that took two people to handle and put the on me and I continued to shiver away. Gary and Steve arrives about 45 minutes after we did. Gary brought a small Black Eyed Susan cake which I love and Louann had made me a carrot cake which is my favorite. She makes them soooo good. They sang to me and ate cake. I did not :(  I could not. The rest of the evening is a blur. I went to sleep at some point. I woke up about 3am and I was suffocating. I was on fire. I had to fight to get that blanket off of me and get the coat off and the sweater off. Thank God there was a fan there and I turned it on me. The sweat
was pouring off of my head. So the fever had reached it's peak and broken. Then I went back to sleep.  That was my birthday...not a lot redeeming about it.  I will tell about Sat. next time I write.  It get's better before it gets worse again, lol.  Have a great day all.
Hugs,

if he had been and thise cae lasted as they said 6 to 8 weeks I would have had to change a few Dr, appointments happy all appointments can stay as they are.

I got most of the things I set out to do yesterday while Tom was gone now he will be home today I can get just about everything done.

Rob called last night too he and Karyne  are having Thanksgiving at his house on Sunday, so far everything is working out very well.

Happy Birthday annnieM!

Good Morning and
Happy Hump Day everyone!

Yesterday I got my hair cut ~ short! ~ and then we stopped at the French bakery we like and got some things for breakfast for the next few days.  We snarfed down a chocolate croissant sitting in the car in the parking lot before heading up to Rocky Mountain National Park.   The gals in the beauty parlor told me they thought the leaves had 'peaked' two weeks earlier, but as you know we've been kinda busy and couldn't get up to the mountains before now.   We were surprised to find them PRE-Peak for the most part.   I put up some pictures in a separate thread.  Not spectacular, but you can join us for a drive through The Park if you'd like.

It got pretty tired out by the time we came back down, but Mike decided to pick up groceries so we wouldn't have to go out today.  We called BJ's from the grocery store parking lot and ordered carry out, which they will bring out to the car for you.   We got something for last night and tonight, too!  Yay!

Upstairs to watch NCIS, Dancing and The Good Wife.   The new Hawaii 5-0 is on On Demand, so we can watch that any time.   We hadn't expected to like it much, but we really enjoyed it last week.

Tomorrow we will go to look at Stone Facing for the house, and then come back to the Model and pick out exterior paint colors and doors.   I'm overwhelmed and more than a bit scared we'll pick the wrong thing.   We wouldn't want to have to repaint, but we could if we had to.  The Stone Face will be on there for good, so if we screw that up, we're going to be very unhappy.

annnieM, Mike did ask for a set of the Floorplans, reduced in size and told them we'd be willing to pay for them.  We haven't heard anything, so tomorrow when we meet with the Construction Forman, we'll ask again.   It really is crazy making that getting dimensions is like pulling teeth.  In most ways, they are so helpful, it's hard to understand why they are making this so difficult.   I don't do well with "Trust me".  Ha.   I feel guilty asking all the time ~ and then I remember that I am paying for the privledge!

I am SO glad you are doing your birthday up so well!!   Party ON!

Ayla, lovely to see you, and thank you so much for my beautiful Birthday presents!   I have them saved and I've already used them!   You weren't late, you just helped me to continue to celebrate!

Barb, poor Tom!  That sounds exhausting!  I'm SO glad he didn't get chosen and you don't have to spend your birthday alone, not to mention having to cancel your Dr appts!  Whew!

Your haircut sounds great.   Don't you feel better after a good haircut?  Me, too.

I think it's great that you are having Thanksgiving dinner at Rob and Karynes AND at your house too!   I know I've told you that we enjoy going out to Thanksgiving dinner sometimes, but we always miss the leftovers, so we started making leftovers!  That way we get the best of both ~ and so do you!   Aren't we smart?!

The staircase you posted might have helped us get down, but I'm not so sure about getting back up the stairs.  LOL.  How fun!

Lou Ann, I saw your lovely pictures and 'stuck' them up higher so everyone will be able to see them.   They reminded both Mike and me of growing up in the Midwest ~ all the lovely colors.   We aren't going "home" to Ia or Minn anymore, and we miss seeing them.  Thanks for taking us along with you.

I'm so sorry you got sick.   I TOLD you not to do that!   What miserable timing.   I'm so glad your friends are so supportive and take care of you.

I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to the next "installment' or not ~ just kidding, of course.   I do want to hear that you had some GOOD times while you were gone, too.    Looking forward to the next update......

Have a great day, everyone.
