Lovely new page, annnieM.

Welcome to March.   I wonder if it will come in like a Lion or a Lamb.   I'm betting on Lamb.

Three boxes today.   Crawling right along.  lol

Tomorrow after my haircut we are going to the OPH (the Original Pancake House) waaaaay across town for breakfast (brunch) and then we'll go to a furniture store on that side of town to look at a new bed and some chairs that might work for us.  Sooo, I may not get in here tomorrow depending on how tired it gets out.

Watching the TV show Castle now ~ one of our favorites.   Looks like Kate just died.  (I'm suspecting not.)

Happy March!

Hello ladies

Decided to just come over here since when nest anyone would be reading it would be March.  Here it is coming in like a lamb.  That is never good, lol.  I would rather get it the bad stuff over now and not at the end of the month.  In Arkansas where my brother is, they had an earthquake again.  He said it was not bad, that Jake (5) makes the house shake more than the earthquake did.  So now I have dubbed him Earthquake Jake!  His Catahoula dog has been given back to the original owner.  Huck was able to jump their 6 ft fence.  The 2nd time he did it they could not find him and so Leigh called the previous owner and warned them.  Sure enough, the dog showed up there.  So they all decided the dig needed to stay there.  So he has bought a brand new puppy just born.  You would never in a million years guess what it is.  A Chinese Crested.  It is so insane.  I hope that poor little dog will be able to hold it own around Ben and Jake.  Seems his gf is getting one too and they expect them all to be together at some point in the future.  In the past my brother has had a beagle and 2 golden retrievers.  This dog is so not him, lol.  Not sure which is which, but here is Zeke and Harley at 21 days old.

What a Chinese Crested looks like.

There are all different looks as some are spotted and some have more hair and some have long hair, but this is what most look like.  They are either cute or ugly.  There is one chinese crested that has won the ugliest dog contest several times, lol.

Anyway, I have been not up to par, very wheezy and coughing.  Did not make it to the Oscar Night, but mom and I watched them.  My friends made a day of it.  First they went and saw "The Kings Speech", the they went to "Taste of Fond du Lac and then home for the Oscars.  I would never have kept up.  I thought the Oscars were good.  The hosts were entertaining.  The dresses were beautiful and kind of disappointing that none were outrageous.  No dead swans draped over anyones body, lol.  I loved so many of the dresses and the really loved the dress and look of the 14 year old girl that played in True Grit.  I was so happy to see Colin Firth win.  No, I have not seen the movie yet because my mom has no interest in seeing it.  I can not find that kind of time when she is not around.  I want my nephew to rehook up my old VCR in my room, then I could watch it in there.

As far as my sisters hip, I cannot remember what the condition was that she had in the hip.  Something that she was born with and that flared up and it needed to be corrected.  I wondered if she considered suing the first doctor and she said she would not, but that her insurance may since it is so soon that she needs it done again.  They may want to recoup some of their money.  She is now having the surgery April 6.

Hi Cheryl, so nice to hear from you again.  Enjoy Florida.  I vacationed in Maine in early October and it was beautiful.  I would love to go back some day.  I loved the ocean and beaches and then the gorgeous wooded areas in their awesome autumn coats.  It was fabulous.

Dorothy, I think you are making pretty good time on your packing.  Just keep plugging away at it.  Have you seen those storage/moving containers you can rent?  They bring them to your house and drop them off.  You pack them all up and when it is time they load it and move it.  You use it as long as you need it.  You could put one in your yard or drive and have that nice young man that shovels for you put your boxes in it as you pack them.  Then when the time comes to move you will be all set.  It's a thought anyway.

annnieM, I would not talk to that poisonous woman either.  There is something not right with her and you do not need to subject yourself to her venom.   Dave is just too much of a softy, but that is part of his charm.  Why they would not call for ages and then start calling again is weird and makes me think that there is some hidden agenda in it.  When it is them on the phone, just go do something pleasant so that they do not bring you down.  You do not need that in your life.

Wonder how our Mary Ann is doing.  Well I hope.  Can anyone tell me anything more about Bonnie?  Like her last name?  What city in California?  Husbands name?  I can try doing a search.

Hoping you all have a terrific Tuesday.

Love and Hugs,

Dorothy Border

Hi gals.  Sorry I wasn't here Monday but I was sick most of Sunday and then felt punky all day Monday too.  I did have enough in me to change the opening page.

Hi Dorothy.  Glad you like the opening page.  March came in like a lamb here.  No surprise.  It usually goes out like a lion.  Enjoy your brunch at the pancake house.  Good job on packing!  I saw the previews for Castle and it did look like Kate was going to die, but we know that can't happen because she's the show.  I suppose they could replace her but I don't think they will.  We taped it so we need to watch it yet.

Hi Lou Ann.  Oh my goodness that is a homely dog!  Why would anybody want one of them?  I guess the dog might be so homely it's cute???  I'm glad China got the credit for that one.  Sorry that you haven't been feeling well, and didn't make it to your Oscar party.  Must be something going around as I didn't feel well and I missed my movie night.  I was also happy to see Colin Firth win!  I can't wait to see that movie!  I agree there is something wrong with my son and his woman both.  I was watching the news about Charlie Sheen and I recognized his craziness as the same as theirs, which is what I've been saying all along.  Bipolar.  And, just like Charlie, they do not see that they have a problem.  I can't imagine why Mary Ann isn't checking in.  Last I knew she was at home, so I do hope we hear from her soon.  I do not know Bonnie's last name, but I know her husband's name is Vern.  I know the name of her city but I've forgotten.  I'm pretty sure it was in the lower part of California, & very hot.  I'll try to remember.  Anyone else know any details about Bonnie?  I would be so happy if you could search out her phone number.  I would love to call her.  This just makes me think we should have more information about every one here, phone numbers and last names and such.  Any information you can give me, please e-mail to annnieM@DnDWIFI.net

I believe that was Mary Ann popping in!  I sure wish she would've had time to say hi.  I bet she's really busy with all the babies being born.  We are waiting to see pictures, Mary Ann.  Have fun with them!

Not much happening here today.  It was very cold this morning.  Dave said it was 10 below zero.  I'll be staying inside where it's warm.  Wishing everyone stays warm.  Hugs,

Good Morning.

Yup.   I was right.   March came in like a Lamb.  Ut-Oh.  This does not bode well . . .  lol

We were gone for some 7 hours yesterday and we got so tired it was ridiculous.  We have the collective stamina of a dead weed!

First I visited Sharyl for a haircut while Mike went to the French Bakery and picked up some rolls for the next several day's breakfasts.    The lady I gave the yarn to was there, and she was so delighted with it that it just made me feel good!  So much more fun than donating to someone I will never know or see.

Then on to the OPH (45 minute drive) for a very late breakfast, and then on to the furniture store.   Mike had seen some things he liked online, and we went to see them in person ~ and ended up buying them.

We are keeping our old dresser and highboy (reddish walnut that could be part of that commercial ~ "Haven't had new furniture since Disco!") and buying a new bed and two new night stands, in cherry.   The bed is a storage bed that goes to the floor so no cats can hide (or puke) under there and no dust bunnies can take up residence.   The drawers are deep and cedar lined, and since it's a platform bed there is no need for box springs.    We're getting the mattress somewhere else.

Wingback chair is 29 inches wide and should (?) fit in the skinny Library.   Comfortable for me, and very comfortable for Mike.

We're having them covered in the print, which we both liked very much yesterday and now I'm not so sure.  (Big surprise ~ lol).  The stripe is a maybe for a Roman Shade in the library, but now I'm wondering if I shouldn't have a solid seafoam blue Roman shade instead.   I fully intend to drive myself crazy.
I'm also having a small pillow for my neck made of a solid seafoam blue-green.
Chairs should be ready in 30-45 days and if the house isn't ready then, they will hold all the pieces until it is, and then deliver and set everything up.   YAY!

I'm trying not to see the dirt that is begining to gather since we stopped having our cleaning woman come.   I'm not going to be able to ignore it much longer.  How do you clean a toilet again?   ~ lol.

Lou Ann, how funny ~ and I can really imagine that a 5 year old boy makes the house shake more than an earthquake.   lol

Oh, my ~ what an "interesting" looking dog.  Er. Um.  What prompted him to want one ~ just to be different?   I admit I do consider the looks of the cat breeds we get, but I'm much more interested in the purrrsonality of the breed.   They will certainly get looks when they go for walks.  lol.   I seem to be confused.   Is the girl friend back 'on'?

Sorry you aren't feeling good again and missed Oscar Day (I didn't realize it was much more than just Oscar Night).

Keep us posted on your sister's surgery.   How awful to have to go through it twice and so young.   I hope that doesn't bode ill for the future.

I have though (a lot) about those Pods.   We sure could use the storage, but neither of us could haul stuff out to store there, and I wouldn't have the nerve to ask anyone else.   It's definitely becoming challenging.

Mary Ann, I'm glad you popped in to let us know you are still alive (lol).  Please, please check out the Mary Ann Threads so I can un-stick 'em.

annnieM, I'm sorry you were sick over the weekend.

Brrrr. 10 below zero!   I won't tell you we were in the low 60s for a couple of days.   Of course you know our weather ~ just wait a couple of minutes and we'll have a blizzard.  Ha.

No boxes yesterday, and maybe not today either.  I have to do budget today.

Make it a good one, all!

Hello Ladies

Dorothy, do not be silly.  I am sure that nice young man from across the street would not mind moving the boxes for you at all.  Wait till you have a good amount then ask him to do it.  Pay him as if he were shoveling.  Both are physical work and I am sure he could use the money.   I love your furniture choices.  I hope that bed is not so high that it is hard to get into.  Mine is high and I cannot sit on the edge of my bed without sliding off.  I meant to tell you that I really like that new series Fairly Legal.

I am thinking that Bonnie's last name may begin with an M?  She signs her work MBon.  So maybe, lol.  I just do not have enough info to do a search.  Maybe someone else knows more????   That is a good idea annnieM, I will send you my info.  But more than one of us should have it as what if it was you that went missing?  Heaven forbid!

I actually think that dog is kind of cute.  But the family dog of a man and his 2 boys?  It just does not fit.  Has to have something to do with the girlfriend.  Dorothy, not sure what you mean.  Leigh and Kristy have never been off.  Her ex ran into her and Leigh at WalMart one weekend and then he decided that he wanted her back but she has no intention of going  So back.  So they are still going strong.

Moms blood is dropping again.  2 points since Fri so she goes for a draw this Fri again and if it drops that much again she will have to have another transfusion and it has only been 2 weeks since the last.  She is hating all this.  I want her to go for another opinion to a hematologist in Milwaukee.  Even her surgeon there thought it might be her bone marrow.  We may convince her of it yet.

Well once again it is nearly 3am so it is time to get some sleep.  Mom is having problems and is up again too.  Poor thing.

Have a great day all.

Hugs,

Good Morning.

Mike tells me the roof is on the house.   I have a quick and painless dental appointment this morning and on the way home we'll drive by so I can take a look.

Yesterday I did the transfers, balanced the books and updated the budget AND I packed one box of books.   (See how I can make that sound like I really accomplished a lot?   LOL.)

Temps heading for the low 60s today.   I can't complain!

I see my brand spankin' new iPad is obsolete now.   I'll hafta throw it out and get the new one ~~~~ NOT.   LOL

Lou Ann, I'm glad you like the furniture we chose.   It's hard to know if you've made a good choice or not.

Our current bed has not one but TWO Pillow tops,  The idea is that you flip it over ~ Nevah Again!   It's high like yours.   The first thing I did was sit on the edge of the new bed, and it seemed high too ~ but it was a "High Profile" mattress, and we will be getting a "Low Profile" mattress and a featherbed.   Because it's a platform bed (solid surface) we don't need box springs either.   I'm not sure it will be low enough for me to sit on the edge, but I hope it will.   At least I won't feel like I need a ladder to get into it.

I don't know Bonnie's last name, but I feel sure that I have seen it somewhere.

In another small group I belong to, we have all exchanged our addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers.    That started with those who wanted to participate in a Christmas Card exchange, and over the years we've just shared everything.    It would have to be completely voluntary of course, but I suspect those of us who are "regulars" wouldn't have any problem sharing personal information.

I'm so sorry your mom's blood results are going South again.   I really wish they could find the cause and fix it!

Ok, my bad.   I read that Kristy's ex wanted her back, and I must have estrapolated that she went back to him.   I'm glad she didn't.     Those boys and Leigh need the stability.

Waving at everyone else!  Have a happy day!

It is almost like a spring day here, except for all the snow out there.  The thermometer beside me says 60°.  I'm sure it's not quite that warm but it's an amazing change from yesterday!

Hi Dorothy!  LOL that you and Mike have the collective stamina of a dead weed.  I absolutely love the bed and stuff you picked out.  Don't rethink your decisions.  That print is gorgeous!  I agree with Lou Ann.  I think you should get one of those pods and your snow shoveler would be happy to load boxes in for you.  You would be hiring him so you won't need to have "the nerve" to ask.  A young kid can always use some extra money.  I think you should call the cleaning service and just have them do the bathrooms and kitchen, and perhaps a little vacuuming around where they can get.  Maybe they won't do part of a house?

Hi Lou Ann.  The M in Bonnie's name stands for mockingbird.  She went by mockingbirdBon.  I'm pretty sure that she is in Southern California, and for some reason I'm thinking Brawley.  I'm definitely not sure and I looked at a map of California and nothing seemed familiar.  I hate that your mom is having trouble with her blood again.  I hope that she listens to you and goes to a hematologist.

Hi again Dorothy.  How exciting that the roof is on your house!  You balanced the books and did all that money stuff and you packed a box of books!  Way to go!  I definitely think we should make sure that everyone has our information, at least the three of us.  Maybe I should consolidate what I know and send it to you and you can fill in blanks and then send it to Lou Ann and she can fill in more blanks.

I talked to Kathy this morning when I was in face book and she said to say hi to you all and to tell you she's just fine.  She sends big sister hugs.

Waving hi to everyone, hugs,

annnieM

I think I've got it ~~~ maybe!

I had Bonnie's name as Bonnie Cormack on a Jacquie Lawson Address Book entry.    I looked Bonnie Cormack up on Spokeo.com and this is what it showed.   The thing that makes me feel it's "right" (or at least was right at one time) is that it shows her husband as Vern.

annnieM, I'm so glad you like the furniture we bought, and the print.   I don't know why I need so much reassurance now, but I seem to.   lol    I'm just gettin pathetic-er and pathetic-er.   Soon I'll be beyond all hope.

You are so right Dorothy!  That is our Bonnie and I called her.  I just got off the phone with her and she sounds wonderful. She has been just having trouble with her sleep schedule.  She can't sleep at night so she is a zombie.  Add to that her daughter is moving back in, complete with menagerie of cats and dogs.  It was so great to talk to her!  Thank you so much, Dorothy, for coming up with her last name.

And a cheery Good Friday Morning to you all.    Much cooler today, mid-40s, but still nothing to complain about.

Last night we went to the WishBone (chicken) restaurant for dinner, and brought home leftovers for tonight's dinner.  Love them leftovers.  :-)

annnieM, how wonderful that you were able to reach our Bonnie, and to hear that she is ok.  Not to minimize sleep trouble ~ I know first hand how hard that can be ~ but to know that nothing is seriously wrong is wonderful.   Thanks so much for calling and for letting us know!     I really feel so much better!    I'll bet she was surprised to hear from you.

Have a great day, everyone.

You're so right, Dorothy.  Bonnie was tickled pink to hear from me and apologized profusely for not checking in with us.  I gave you credit for figuring out her last name, Dorothy.  Bonnie said that she loves us all and she will try to pop in.

I had no idea if I was calling the right Bonnie, so I started the conversation with are you the Bonnie who belongs to an online group called the cuppa gals?  Hallelujah that she was.

I just sent out an e-mail requesting information.  I was gobsmacked by it all, so I'm sure I did not get it sent to everyone.  Any of you that find anything wrong, just fix it.

Hugs

My goodness what a wonderful suprise my day started out with.

my sweet annnieM called me!!

then when I come to visit I find Prezzies!!!!

do you know how rotten I feel for worrying you guys and missing your beautiful gifts to me when you gave them?

all I can say now is that I really care about you guys and think the world of you all.

I decided to use annnieM's border and bear sig today because it has hearts, and that's how I feel this morning.

it's such a blessing to have friends.

AnnnieM, Dorothy, Ayla, Lou Ann, Mary Ann.

(((hugs)))

you guys can have my name, phone, address, and social security number and anything else you want LOL.

I haven't been checking my mail for months.

stopped most all of my mail groups. I'm sure  graphics groups I still have have given me the boot. no doubt my gmail acct is probably bouncing.  just been too tired to worry about it.

as I said to annnieM, there are just two groups that matter. you guys, and the other group I've been in for years.

when you've know each other and chatted every day for that many years a special friendship grows.

annnieM, ... I thought the same thing about Charlie Sheen,  bi-polar, was that confirmed?

I recognize it because of my eldest both having it, and their dad. boy was he ever a trial to be married to. grooooaaaaaaaaaan.

well, need to be off. and working on this crazy mess over here.

LOL, always the same old crap with me.

I need to think of something new to complain about maybe?

xoxoxox

YAY, WHAT A GREAT BUNCH OF DETECTIVES WE MAKE.  THANK YOU DOROTHY FOR FINDING HER AND THANK YOU ANNNIEM FOR CALLING HER.  AS SOON AS YOU SAID THAT ABOUT MOCKINGBIRD I THOUGH OH YEAH, THATS RIGHT, LOL.  HI BONNIE, SO HAPPY TO HEAR FROM YOU.  YOU CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING YOU WANT HERE AS LONG AS YOU ARE HERE, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.  i WANT TO SUGGEST YOU ASK THE DOCTOR ABOUT TAKING TRAZADONE.  IT IS NON ADDICTIVE.  IT IS A ANTI DEPRESSANT BUT NOT A GOOD ONE BUT IT WORKS GREAT AS A SLEEP AIDE.  IT WORKED WONDERFULLY FOR ME.  IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP AT MIDNIGHT YOU TAKE ONE ABOUT 10 PM AND ANOTHER AT 11 PM.  GO TO BED AT MIDNIGHT AND SLEEP LIKE A BABY.  NONE OF THE OVER THE COUNTER SLEEP AIDES WORKED FOR ME.  THIS DID.  MY DOCTOR SAID THEY USE IT AS A SLEEPER IN NURSING HOMES BECAUSE IT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH OTHER MEDS AND SUCH.  I USE IT NOW AND THEN TO GET MYSELF BACK ON TRACK.  YOU LADIES WILL BE GLAD TO HEAR I WENT TO BED AT 1AM LAST NIGHT.  TONIGHT I AM SHOOTING FOR MIDNIGHT.

DOROTHY, MY BEDROOM SET IS VERY OLD AND SOLID WOOD.  I ADORE IT.  I HAVE A MEMORY FOAM ON TOP AND AN EGG CRATE UNDER THAT BUT STILL CANNOT SLEEP IN BED.  MY MOM HAS ONE OF THOSE BEDS THAT YOU CAN RAISE THE HEAD AND OR FOOT AND IT IS REALLY HIGH.  MY BIL MADE HER A PLATFORM FOR HER NIGHT STAND AND FOR GETTING INTO THE BED.  I HATE IT...I ALWAYS HIT MY TOES ON IT.  LOL.  NEXT TIME I GET ME ROOM CLEANED UP...MY BED IS THE CATCH ALL FOR THE APT. THEN I WILL TAKE PICTURES AS THE SET HAD BELONGED TO OUR FRIEND MARY AND SHE HAD IT FOR MANY YEARS.  I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT AND ALWAYS HOPED IT WOULD BE MINE SOMEDAY.  MY MOM WAS USING IT, BUT WHEN SHE WENT TO THAT ELECTRIC BED SHE GAVE ME THE WHOLE SET.  IT HAS A UPRIGHT CHEST OF DRAWERS, A MIRRORED DRESSER, THE MIRROR IS AN OVAL ON A PIVOT BASE AND CAN BE TURNED OR TILTED FORWARD OR BACK, THEN THERE IS THE BED AND ONE NIGHT STAND. THE NIGHT STAND IS SO SMALL THOUGH YOU CANNOT PUT MUCH ON IT.  BUT I LOVE IT ALL.

ANNNIEM, I HAVE TO ASK.  WHAT THE HECK IS GOBSMACKED?  I HAVE NEVER HEARD THAT ONE BEFORE, LOL.  I WILL LOOK FOR YOUR EMAIL.

MOMS BLOOD ONLY DROPPED A WEE BIT THIS TIME (IN 3 DAYS) SO THE DOCTOR (ON CALL) SAID RECHECK IN 1 WEEK.  HE OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT KNOW MY MOM SO WE WILL BE WATCHING HER CLOSELY FOR SYMPTOMS.  SHE SEEMS VERY TIRED SO THAT WORRIES ME.  BUT SHE SLEEPS WEIRD TOO SO WHO KNOWS.

SUNDAY I HAVE MY NEPHEW JASON'S BD PARTY IF I GO.  MY COUGH HAS BEEN MORE PERSISTENT AND ANNOYING SO MAY NOT,  DO YOU ALL HAVE WEEKEND PLANS?

HUGS,

annnieM
