RE:DECEMBER SIGN IN
(Date Posted:12/01/2011 10:18 AM)

Good Morning ~ Welcome to December!

Today is a SNOW DAY ~ We don't hafta go to school.   Whatever shall we do for fun?

We have about 3 - 3 1/2 inches already and  it's sure coming down fast and furious, that fine stuff and lots of it.  It's really blowing out there, too.  It's 29 degrees, and supposed to be dropping from here.  I think I'll stay inside and watch from here.

We thawed some of Mike's yummy chili for dinner for tonight and tomorrow night, and got some ground beef in for meat loaf on the weekend, just in case we don't want to poke our noses out.     This looks like a good day to write Christmas cards.

Lou Ann, thank you so much for putting up our BEAUTIFUL and informative December Sign In thread.    I know everyone looks forward to it each month as much as I do!

I moved the bronze cougar who usually lives in the niche in the front hall greeting visitors, and put my soft sculpture Lion and Lamb there.   It looks just purrrfect for the Christmas Season ~~ and that's what Shogun thinks too.    He's not going to leave it alone.   I'm going to have to move it.   Darn!!

Oh, well.   Ho! Ho! Ho!
More neighbors have put up Christmas lights and outside decorations, and the snow continues to fly ~ sideways!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Hi Gals!

Beautiful opening page, Lou Ann!  I love knowing what I should celebrate each day.  Today is World AIDS awareness day.  It is also eat a red apple day. I can do that.  Dave would be happy to hear that tomorrow is national fritter day, if we had any on hand.  He loves apple fritters.  The third is national roof over your head day.  The inspector is coming to look at our newly shingled roof today and we just got 4 or 5 inches of new snow overnight.  He is coming at 11 and I do not think it will be melted off by then but not my problem.  Thank you for the opening page!
Hi Dorothy!  I had to steal your little snow angel and I am thinking I might actually make a signature from it!  It's just adorable!  We got the same snow as you but it isn't blowing around.  It is a good day to think about Christmas cards or letters.  Really pretty out there!
Dave put up my little prelit Christmas tree over the weekend and the other evening as I was going to bed there was a little two point buck standing beside it checking out whether there was water in the birdbath to drink.  It was so adorable!  Last night I had some leftover beef stew from Zarah's birthday and it was deelish.  I need to freeze the rest.  We are thinking about going to the Wyoming symphony on Saturday but I'm needing a weather report before we go.  Zarah leaves today because she has rehearsals, and she says the worst day is today.  Dave says he has checked also, but I want to see black roads.  I hate driving in snow.

Wishing everyone a thrilling Thursday!  Hugs,

HELLO LADIES
I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE POSTS HERE.
I DO NOT THINK IT IS ANYTHING I DID, I CERTAINLY HOPE NOT
ANYWAY.  I TRIED TO FOOL AROUND WITH EACH ONE SO YOU
WILL SEE THAT IT SAYS I EDITED YOUR POSTS, BUT NOTHING
I DID HAD ANY BEARING ON THE WAY IT IS BEING SHORTENED
WIDTH WISE.  SO STRANGE.  IS THERE A TROUBLE SHOOTING
LINK SOMEWHERE FOR ISSUES LIKE THIS?  I WILL TRY TO
LOOK AROUND.
BECAUSE I WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE HAD MY INR BLOOD
DRAW LAST SATURDAY I DECIDED I SHOULD AT LEAST CALL
THEM AND TELL THEM THAT I KNOW I AM LATE AND WILL
TRY TO GET IN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.  SO I CALLED AND I
TOLD THE RECEPTIONIST.  SO SHE TOLD ME TO TRY AND GO
BY NEXT WED AND SHE WOULD PUT ME DOWN FOR THAT.
2 HOURS LATER I GOT A CALL FROM ONE OF THE NURSES
WHO ASKED ME IF I MISSED MY APPT?  SO I TOLD HER I
HAD CALLED EARLIER AND TOLD THEM AND SO I TOLD HER
TOO.  SO SHE WAS FINE WITH THAT.  WANTED TO KNOW IF
I WAS ON AN ANTIBIOTIC AND I SAID NOT ANY OTHER
THAN THE ONE THAT I AM ALWAYS ON.  SHE WANTED TO
MAKE SURE AS THEY WILL THROW MY INR ALL WACKO.
SO NOT I AM NOT WORRIED ABOUT THAT.  I WANTED TO
ASK IF THE LAB COULD SEND SOMEONE TO THE HOUSE
TO DRAW ME  BUT FIGURED THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL COST
FOR THAT AND IF THEY WERE NOT WORRIED, THEN I WILL
NOT WORRY ABOUT IT EITHER.
MOM GETS HER BLOOD CHECKED IN THE MORNING AND SHE
MAY HAVE TO HAVE ANOTHER TRANSFUSION.  MONDAY IT
WAS 9.4 AND WEDNESDAY IT WAS 9.2.  WHEN SHE DROPS
BELOW 9 THEY TRANSFUSE HER.  THIS WEEKEND SHE AND
MY SISTER DIANE ARE GOING TO ILLINOIS TO VISIT WITH
MY AUNT PENNY AND AUNT SANDY, SO I WILL BE ON MY OWN.
I AM THINKING I MAY FINALLY CATCH UP ON HP.  THOUGH
MY FINAL MOVIE HAS NOT ARRIVED YET.  I HAVE NOT SEEN
THE MOVIES STARTING WITH THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE.
I REALLY SHOULD GET GOING ON CHRISTMAS CARDS AND
GIFTS,  I THINK I AM AVOIDING IT ALL AND THAT IS JUST
WRONG.  I NEED MOTIVATION!  BIG TIME, LOL.
WHERE IS OUR MARY ANN?  IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG?
HUGS,

RE:DECEMBER SIGN IN
(Date Posted:12/02/2011 11:26 AM)

Good Morning.   The snow is temporarily over, but we'll be getting some more.  It's C-O-L-D.
While our driveway and sidewalk are cleared, the streets are not.  Arvada only clears through streets unless the snow totals so many inches (I can't remember the number).   I sit in my little front room and watch the cars slip sliding away, and I'm glad we don't have to go out in it.

Yesterday I started writing Christmas cards and found that the cards we ordered only had half the number of envelopes they should have in each box!   Mike called the company and they are sending some envelopes to us, but they won't get here before Monday (if then!).   Humbug.   I really thought I'd be sending cards with our new address a bit too early this year, and now it looks like they'll be a bit late.
Once again I thought I was going to be sooo 'on top' of things, and I'm already slipping behind.

Last night we watched the final Harry Potter (part 2 of the Deathly Hallows).  I was glad I'd read the book or I think I would have been lost.  I need to watch it again.   We did re-watch all of the Harry's over the last couple of weeks, anticipating the final episode.

annnieM, you are welcome to the snow angel graphic ~~~ especially if you make one for me.

OMG, the image of your buck with your little lighted tree is just too precious.   If he comes back, you must get her picture.   How lovely.   (How envious I am!!)

Here we're expecting snow off and on through mid-week.   I don't know what Wyoming looks like.    Fingers crossed for you.

Lou Ann, this morning the posts look ok!    In the other group, though, words are being split with part of a word on one line and part on another.    Aimoo must be having "issues".   grrrr.

My INR numbers have been a mess, too.   First they were too high (3.2 or so), so we cut down the dosage.   Then they were too low (1.4, 1.6, 1.8)  so now we've beefed up the dosage to higher than it's been for a very long time.   I did allow myself a big salad from BJs (half one day and half the next) because I'm guessing this higher dosage will push me over the top again, and I'd been craving salads.   I know they want to control the INR with the dosage and not with my eating habits, but when things are screwed up, I don't want to add to the problem.   I have no idea what is going on.

Oh, good.  I hit some key and lost the tool bar.   I'd best post this and see if I can fix things.    Honestly, it's always something, isn't it?

I made a tag for Bonnie and Hope and some of the others but I was thinking I would e-mail them.  I sent thanksgiving cards to the gals and I heard back from Bonnie and Valerie and Debbie and GammaJean.  Anyway, I thought I would e-mail them.

Hi Lou Ann!  Today the posts are better.  Go figure.  Perhaps you fixed it?  I'm glad that even though it took lots of phone calls you finally got through to the nurses.  I hope that your mom's blood turns out good enough that she won't have to have another transfusion.  On the other hand, maybe it's a good idea that she gets one before she goes on her trip.  I suggest that while you are alone you do catch up with your Harry Potter movies.  You can write Christmas cards in between.  I think we all need motivation this time of year.   I have no idea where Mary Ann is.  I suppose she is busy helping people out, knowing her.

Waving hi to everyone.  I expect that Dorothy and I are posting at the same time.  Hi Dorothy!

HELLO LADIES
I FORGOT TO TELL YOU ALL ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED
WHEN I WAS MAKING THE DECEMBER PAGE.  YOU ALL KNOW I AM NOTORIOUS FOR NOT SAVING AS I GO.  I HAD JUST PLACED THE FINAL GRAPHIC AND I BUMPED SOMETHING AND LOST THE WHOLE POST.
IN FACT I SOMEHOW SHUT AIMOO DOWN COMPLETELY.  I HAD TO START OVER AND I WAS SO
ANGRY AND I WANTED TO CRY, BUT MOM SAID
COME ON, I WILL HELP AND AWAY WE WENT.  BY
THE TIME I WAS DONE I HAD NO DESIRE TO POST.
ANNNIEM, THANKS FOR THE CUTIE PATUTIE TAG.
I LOVE IT.  TURNS OUT MOM NEEDED A TRANSFUSION.  THIS IS RIDICULOUS.  LAST WEEK FRI. SHE WAS GIVEN 2 UNITS OF BLOOD.  WHEN CHECKED ON MON SHE WAS ONLY 9.4.  CHECKED AGAIN ON WED AND DOWN TO 9.2.  TODAY, FRI SHE WAS 8.6.  IN ONE WEEK SHE NEEDED ANOTHER TRANSFUSION.  IT JUST WORRIES ME.  HOW MUCH BLOOD THEY CAN GIVE HER AND IF COME THE NEW YEAR HER NEW INSURANCE WILL PAY FOR IT ALL.  MOST I HAVE SEEN ONLY PAY FOR SO MANY UNITS IN A YEAR.  I HOPE WE'RE NOT HEADED FOR TROUBLE.  THAT IS THE LAST THING SHE NEEDS.
DOROTHY, I DO NOT EVEN KNOW IF WE HAVE CARDS AND IF WE DO, WHERE THEY ARE, LOL.
SO MUCH TO DO AND TIME IS JUST SLIPPING AWAY FROM ME.  I AM A MAJOR PROCRASTINATOR.  AND IT DOES NOT FAIR ME WELL AT THIS TIME.  I NEED
A GOOD OLD FASHIONED KICK IN THE ASS!!!  I AM THINKING IT WOULD BE NICE TO WATCH ALL THE HP MOVIES THIS WEEKEND BUT THAT MIGHT BE AN OVERLOAD. LOL.  DID I TELL YOU I GOT THE SAMANTHA SWEET CHRISTMAS BOOK AND READ IT.  IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BUY IT YOU CAN BORROW MINE.  I LIKED IT.
YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND.
HUGS,

Ho! Ho! Ho
Oh, yeah. We got snow!
It's really, really cold and the snow is coming fast and furious. By the end of this snow sometime mid-week we will likely have more snow than we had all last year!

Looks like a good day to stay inside and deck the halls, and work on the Christmas cards.     I'd rather curl up in front of the fire and read, but I don't think that's an option today.

annnieM, thank you so much for the adorable new tag! How appropriate for today ~ I love it!
Today, the concert. I hope the roads stay dry and the concert is wonderful.

Thanks for letting me know we should watch part 2 of the Deathly Hallows again ~ and again.

Lou Ann, I feel your pain.    I have just started using my new Laptop (looong story) and I'm having a definite challenge learning the idiosyncracies of Windows 7.     I don't like challenges ~ EVER ~ and I'm sure not in the mood for them today.     I'm fighting a cold.   I plan to win, but right now I'm not at the top of my game, and I don't WANT to learn how to do things differently when the old way worked fine.    I also don't want to have to try to figure out why Aimoo is splitting our words.   Humbug!

I'm reading the new Samantha Sweet "as we speak".  Of course at the rate that I read these days, I'll probably still be reading it on Christmas EVE.
Ho! Ho! Ho!

Hello Dorothy
No snow here. We had rain all day. It has really
been dark and dreary all day and that is certainly not conducive to getting anything done for me...as all I wanted to do was sleep. I think some snow would help me get in the mood. I did manage to get 2 Christmas presents done and had then shipped directly to my brothers. He said he will wrap them for the boys for me. I am currently bidding on items for my 2 new step-nieces and will see if I can get them sent directly there too. Then I will be all done with the Arkansas gang. But have nothing for all the nephews here.  Though I have my nephew Brent's name
for Christmas Family Exchange and I know he will love an
Amazon gift cert. for getting Kindle books and real books.  I love that he is an avid reader. None of my other nephews are.  I have loved reading from the moment I learned how. So at least one out of 7 nephews share that joy with me. Brent downloaded over 1000 books from his computer to mine for the Kindle....many great ones in there. I need to quit doing anything but read and I
still would never get them all read, lol. A lot of Best Sellers and Classics. I think that tomorrow I will unbox ornaments. We have decided to res-erect the mouse tree. Mom has sold a lot of the ornaments but still has over 200 left so we will go for mice one more time, then get rid of the rest. A woman bought 25 of the ornaments just the other day. Since they are all in their original boxes to protect them it will save time if I unbox them. So those
are my plans...have not watched any HP movies, but maybe
tomorrow. Have a great Sunday.
Hugs,

Tomorrow is Santa's List Day.
Are you on the Naughty or Nice list?

RE:DECEMBER SIGN IN
(Date Posted:12/04/2011 9:58 AM)

Good Morning Everyone.

It's another really cold day here ~ the news folk called it "Cuddle Weather".  We're expecting more snow late this afternoon (which as you know may mean the temps will get to the high 70s ~ ha)

Yesterday we got the front room 'ready' and the tree set up, but not decorated.   Hopefully we'll get it decorated today.   We're both moving very slowly.   I am valiantly fighting a 'bug', and I plan to win but right now he seems to be getting the upper hand.   He's a HUMBUG!

I watched the snow shovelers yesterday ~ only two men who were not young doing the shoveling and a third person with a little plough doing the entrance to the driveway.   He also ploughed in front of the mailboxes, which I thought was nice.   That sure looked like hard work for the two non-kids, shoveling out some 34 or 35 houses!   I hope we pay them well!

Lou Ann ~ 1000 new books to be read!   You are right ~ if you did nothing else but read from here on, you'd never get them all read!    At least I wouldn't.    I seem to be reading about two books a MONTH now.  How pathetic is THAT?    I never just sit and read anymore.  I read a chapter or two between other activities or time on the PC.   No wonder I never make any headway.    I don't have anything approaching 1000 books to be read, but I definitely have an ample supply that I don't think I'm going to ever get read.

How fun ~ a mouse tree!   I wonder if the cats would notice these ornaments are a bit 'different'.  Ha.   Shogun has never had a tree before, or if he did it was when he was too tiny to see it.   Last year we didn't even put a tree or anything else up.    I'm afraid he may not be a good boy, hence the tree in the front room with the closable door.  Ha.  He's such a smart little fellow, and that is NOT a good thing in a cat.   Ha.   Chrystie just wants to crawl under the tree and cover herself up with a blanket of "snow" (actually white fur).   That also isn't a good thing for a tree, but kinda cute.

I got confused on the timing of your mom's trip.   Are you home alone now?   Try to stay out of trouble.

annnieM, how was the concert??   Hope you had no road trouble and stayed well, and of course that the concert was great.

HI GIRLS...LONG TIME NO SEE!!! PHEW!!!
I was at Ann's house for three entire weeks with no 'pc'
oh I was going nuts without my friends...

Hey ya like my little tag??? I love it and I'd love it even
more if I could get someone to add maybe 'Merry Christmas'
with my name after it or something like that...If just my name
that's hunky-dory too...

I've decided not to answer any particular post today because
I'm so behind I'm a nervous wreck besides being absolutely
bushed from 3wks straight at Ann's house...

I'm going to try to get to all my groups but I don't think I'm gonna
make it after all...Maybe if I work on it all day maybe...This is my
first group #1 Cuppa Gals, then will come 'Bama' ; and so on...I think
I'm gonna have to bow out of some of my groups because I just
can't manage to get to them all every day and then when something
happens I get in trouble for not showing up and picking up my tags
when I want all my tags and I pick them up when I can...I never get
in trouble here thank God!!!

Anyway I am alive and kicking, messed up and forget to get my
labs done so I'll have to go get them done on Monday my day off
and then I'll have to call the Hospital and re-arrange to get another
appointment there for my 'Procruit' shot $1500.00 ca-ching!!!

Ann just had to have '6-shots in her back' just like me...I didn't tell
her that it would hurt!!! They do hurt, and the symptoms are crazy!!!
You get red in the face and elsewhere just depends on you, you
become a hungry beast and are unable to stop eating!!! Ann says
"If I keep on like this I'll be a blimp!!!"

annnieM...Thanks so much for my new tag...I think it's a cutie
I will be using it you betcha!!!

I hope this finds everyone well and safe from harm...
Be kind to yourself and others...

Sending healing hugs and prayers out to one and all...
This time of year I think we all need extra prayers said
for us...

Lou Ann...Thanks a lot for doing the December Page you are doing
a bang up job I love reading them all...
Glad I have a roof over my head!!!

Catch up with ya later...

HELLO CUPPA'S
DOROTHY, IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO HEAR WHAT
SHOGUNS ATTITUDE WITH THE TREE IS, LOL.  I HOPE
HE IS NOT TOO NAUGHTY AND GIVES IT THE RESPECT
THAT IT IS DUE.  NOVIA DID NOT BOTHER THE TREE
ITSELF BUT SHE WOULD BAT THE ORNAMENTS THAT
HUNG DOWN AND WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR MORE THAN
ONE BROKEN ORNAMENT.  ALSO HAD TO WATCH HER
AS I HAD SEEM HER BITE ON THE LIGHTS A COUPLE
OF TIMES.  ALL I COULD THINK OF WAS NATIONAL
LAMPOONS CHRISTMAS VACATION, LOL.  I AM VERY
SURPRISED THAT THEY HAVE SHOVELERS.  I WOULD
HAVE THOUGHT THEY WOULD HAVE SNOW BLOWERS
FOR ALL THOSE SIDEWALKS.  I HAVE SEEN THE SNOW
STORMS YOU GET AND WOULD NOT WANT TO BE IN
CHARGE OF SHOVELING ALL THAT SNOW.  YES, I WAS
ALONE BUT MOM IS HOME SAFE AND SOUND AND SHE
HAD A GREAT TIME.
MARY ANN, SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU LADY.  I WAS
GETTING REALLY WORRIED ABOUT YOU.  I AM GLAD
TO HEAR THAT YOU ARE WELL.  I HAD SHOTS IN MY
BACK TWO DIFFERENT TIMES.  NO SYMPTOMS LIKE
YOURS AND NEITHER TIME DID THEY HELP IN ANY
WAY SO WE GAVE UP ON THOSE.  WINTER IS HERE
SO I HOPE THAT YOU HAVE CONSIDERED GETTING
A SMALL SPACE HEATER.  THEY REALLY DO NOT COST
MUCH AND THEY DO NOT TAKE MUCH ELECTRICITY
SO YOU GET A LOT OF BANG FOR YOUR BUCK.  I
USE ONE TO WARM THE BATHROOM BEFORE I TAKE
A SHOWER.  BEEN CONSIDERING GETTING ONE FOR
MY BEDROOM...I HATE WAKING UP COLD. CANNOT
IMAGINE THAT I EVER CAME FROM PIONEER STOCK
LOL,  I AM FAR TOO MUCH OF A WIMP WHEN IT COMES
TO COLD WEATHER.
TIME TO HEAD OFF TO LALA LAND.
HAVE A GREAT MONDAY ALL.
HUGS,
