 Welcome to April and
Happy April Fool's Day!

Love the new April/Spring WebPage, annnieM. smiley157

It's supposed to snow today, actually it was supposed to start last night, so we celebrated the 30th anniversary of our first date last night and we're 'holing in' today.

We had the nicest time, largely thanks to our waiter at The Keg, Todd.   We'd seen Todd before but never had him help us before.   He's easy to recognize because he's a white dude with a Rastifarian hairdo ~ honest!  I'm not making this up.  LOL

We got there early and asked for the closest booth they had because Mike could barely walk.  He was in so much pain.  We ordered drinks and appetizers and Todd overheard us toasting our "Happy Anniversary".  "Are you celebrating an anniversary?" said he.   I giggled, yes ~ the anniversary of our first date on April Fool's Day thirty years ago.  He said the Keg would like to give us champagne or a dessert, and I protested that it was just the anniversary of our first date, not our wedding, but he insisted.    Todd is all about love and love must be celebrated.   I like the way Todd thinks.  lol.  So, we shared a steak and then split a complimentary slice of carrot cake with ice cream.   Todd said he needed to do something special for our anniversary, and he proceeded to fold a paper napkin into a long stemmed white rose, complete with a leaf.   Lovely.  I brought it home, of course, and have it in a bud vase (without the water ~ ha)
I used to make paper flowers years ago, but I used special papers and floral wire and tape.  Then later I learned to make ribbon roses and used to decorate gifts with them.  I've definitely never created one from a napkin.  All in all, a lovely evening.

I'm not in touch with Kittywhiskers, annieM.  Looks like we're going to be doing without birthday cake this month.   Probably a good thing.  I've gained soooo much weight.  lol

Have a Happy April Fool's everyone!

 Happy April Fools' Day!

Making a new page or skin or whatever they call it... it's trial and error for me so I went through quite a few pages this morning. It was fun. Glad you like the results, Dorothy.

That was so sweet what Todd did for you! What an excellent waiter he must be! I have never heard of folding a paper napkin into a rose... wow! Like you... I've created roses and flowers from craft supplies. How wonderful that you got to split a slice of carrot cake! That makes my mouth water!

I keep saying I need to write some e-mails to people who have shown up... and I haven't done it so maybe today that will be my goal. Waving hi to Lou Ann and Kathy and Bonnie and Mary Ann and Ayla... and all of the rest of you who pop in. Hugs to all!

Hello Peeps!
Well April is making a fool of Spring since it snowed here today.  Not a lot but if I see it, then it is too much :)
I called the doctors office again today and if course he was not in, lol.  But they said he might respond to messages
and he did, the idiot!  Said go back on lisinopril as is not causing cough and could go on those darn tessilon pearls.  I said I already did.  They did not work 9 years ago and they do not work now.  The nurse said that's what I thought.  I again said we discussed allergies?  So she was going to message him again.  He will be in tomorrow so I will hear something.  So no tags yet for trivia,,,,sorry.  Hopefully soon.
Right now I have a raging headache so keeping this short.  But wanted to say that I am alive and I miss you all.
Hugs,

ps...annnieM, skin is lovely!

Well, March DID come in like a Lamb, so I guess we should have been forwarned.  Yesterday we continued our Lion's roaring weather with an April Fool's Blizzard.   It was really strange.  At a quarter to four a few of those very small flakes started dancing around, and within 10 minutes it looked like a Sand Storm!  You couldnt see across the yard ~ small flakes, high winds and THUNDER!  Who ever heard of a Thunder Snow Storm??  Within half an hour, the winds and thunder left and the large pretty flakes were coming, big time.  We got maybe two inches.   It's below freezing now, but should warm up to the 50's tomorrow ~~ just in time for what they are predicting as the really big snow storm on Saturday.   Then a few days later ~ back in the 60's.  LOL.

Kim and grocery shopping tomorrow.   Out for dinner before we become house bound again?   We'll see.

annnieM, are you joining us in more blizzards?   I hope you are through the worst of it.

Lou Ann, your Dr's office is just making me mad!   Honestly, you can't live with those people, and you can't shoot 'em.  It just seems like nobody gives a darn anymore.
Mike is still in horrid pain and none of the meds he has touch it.   I've been nagging him to call his Dr and see if he can get something else that might give him some relief, but he's convinced that it would be an exercise in futility.  I wish he would at least ask.   I know many meds effect his BP, but you can't tell me that constant pain doesn't effect it more.   I'll keep nagging.

Hi Debbie!  Thank you for the Water Angel.  We really haven't had enough moisture this year, but I'd be happy to take the rest of it in the form of rain instead of snow.

Oooh, your Grands are so beautiful!   Just precious!  Thank you for sharing them with us.

Have a grand day all.

Hi Dorothy! Our last storm was accompanied by thunder... I'd never heard of a blizzard with thunder. I'll have to ask Jeff, our friendly weatherman. We've had our share and they predict another blizzard on Friday or Saturday so yes... I'm keeping your company in the snow, Dorothy. Ain't it fun... NOT. Good luck with the grocery shopping. Enjoy your nice clean house!

Hi Debbie! I will second that your grandbabies are gorgeous... all of them! Thank you for your nice comments on my April pages... I played with them a little bit more this morning... more to get familiar than to goof things up. It is hard for me to imagine you all in the pool... while we have 2 foot of snow. Your water fairy might just fix us. Thank you. Say hi to Jasmin & Niashia.

Hi Lou Ann! I also am getting very frustrated with your doctor. Sheesh. I wouldn't be surprised if it was allergies... and I guess you will have to be persistent to get an answer. Do not worry about trivia game prizes... take care and rest and get rid of that headache. Tender hugs.

Not much happening here... I'll have to get a picture of the little bluebird plaque I gave Dave on April Fools' Day. It's two bluebird in a nest... and there is lettering that says:

He loves me, he loves me not
It matters little, I'm what he's got

Dave was not as amused with it as I was. LOL.

Wishing you all a thankful Thursday... I'm thankful he's stuck with me.

 Good morning!

Yesterday I did e-mail a few people who haven't been here in a while. I got Margaret's e-mail back as undeliverable. Mary replied and said that she's having a heck of a time getting in here. Does anyone have any suggestions on how it is easiest to get in? Once I got in I just added it to my favorites and that works very well.

I've been sending out e-mails to my family about Easter, too, and it looks like as many cannot come as can. I'm sure you all remember my great neices, Katie and Emily, well they are going to get to come down on Good Friday and dye eggs with me. I'm really excited!! ( I'll take any excuse to act like a child... LOL ) I also had a reply from my nephew who said they (he and his new wife) have found it's difficult to travel with a pitbull and a chihuahua... so they will stay home and probably eat spam and instant mashed potatoes. He has such a great sense of humor! Nothing much else happening here. This weekend if the snow doesn't keep us at home we will be going to a Black Hills Symphony concert... the last of the season. (Make mine Mahler) So many practices have been snowed out that I'm not sure how it will be... but then I'm not that great a judge. :-)

Wishing you all a fantastic Friday! Hugs,

Hello  everyone.  Looks like everyone is really busy these days.  My Doctor's office called yesterday and have put me on an antibiotic for 10 days.  It is one I have not heard of so I will have to chech it out on line.
Debbie, your grands are beautiful.  Oh my, number 7 will be here before you know it.
I suppose with 4 of each sex it does not really matter what the sex is.  Our family the grands are all boys.  Each time we hoped for a girl and got a boy again.  Oh well, all were healthy and that is what matters.
We have had thunder snow here.  The first time it happened it was pretty freaky.  But I love it as it is so non-threatening when there is no lightning with it.  Weather really is so amazing isn't it?
Dorothy, maybe Mike should see a physiatrist...they specialisze in treating pain and pain control.  It would not hurt.  They are more up on types of pain and meds that work.  I am praying for some relief for him.
annnieM, I love this...
He loves me, he loves me not  It matters little, I'm what he's got!
It is too funny.  I am surprised that he did not think so.  I am sorry that all of your family cannot be together for Easter.  Ours will not be either.  But some family is better than no family.  I am sure you will have a lovely time.
Well that's about all for me.  I am so hoping that given a few days I will be feeling much better.  Big hugs to all.

I hate to say it... but we in the middle of another blizzard. It's supposed to stop snowing tomorrow. That means we probably will not get to go to the last Black Hills symphony concert. Dagnabit. It also means I won't be getting to the library. Another dagnabit. Could you all  Think Spring for me... I'm so tired of snow. LOL.

Hi Mary Ann! You made it in to say hi... sorry it didn't work real well for you and you were frustrated and gave up. I did see that you requested the bunny basket... so I have made that for you.

Hi Lou Ann! I am glad you finally got some attention from your doctor... I hope this new antibiotic works for you! Dave did think it was funny but not as funny as I thought it was... I did try to get a picture yesterday and the glare makes it so that you can't read it... and then when I tried again my batteries were dead... sheesh. I hope that you feel better soon!  This is the little plaque I got for Dave.... you can't read it for the glare... but it says:

He loves me, he loves me not
It matters little, l'm what he's got

Yesterday really got away from me and I didn't get in to say Hello.  Kim came and put us in order, then we went out to get groceries.  My back hurt before I started and screamed by the time I got home.  The store was soooo crowded.  We couldn't even get a Handicapped Parking Space.   Mike used to grumble when we'd see a dozen unused handicapped spaces and have to park far away.  Now it seems that all the handicapped spaces are often in use.  Ha.   I finally realized that everyone was stocking up because we expected a blizzard.   By the time we got home, I was whumped.  We went for an early dinner at the European Cafe (Checz).  We usually go there for lunch ~ dinner was a whole lot of food, so we brought half of it home for dinner tonight!  I'd planned to make stroganoff, but I can do that tomorrow and enjoy a 'heat and serve' meal today.  I don't hate it.  ☺

So far our 'blizzard' hasn't amounted to much, but the snow is expected to continue here in the foothills until evening, so we'll see.

annnieM, it looks like you got what we were expecting.  I'm not sure we're home free yet, but it's not too bad.   I'm so sorry you won't be getting out to the concert, or even the library to have a stack of books to snuggle in with while the snow is falling.

Your Bluebird Plaque is adorable!  I'll have to share that with Mike, cuz he's in the same boat.  LOL.

I don't know what to do about the problems folks are having getting in here.   I changed my address for Cuppa to the one including the forum name, and then like you I saved it in my favorites, so I just click on it and get right in most of the time.   Aimoo has had some problems but I haven't had any challenges for a while, knock on wood.   This is the addy I use.  Maybe they could try it??  http://forum2.aimoo.com/CUPPAGALS/

I hope your Easter party shapes up just right.  I got a kick out of your nephew's response ~ but I hope he fares a bit better for dinner.  lol    We haven't decided for sure what we're going to do.  Several restaurants have sent email "invitations" to join them for Easter Dinner, but we're not fond of crowds.  We're likely to make Easter dinner for two at home.

Lou Ann, I'm so glad your Dr finally called.  I'll keep fingers and toes crossed that the new antibiotic works for you.  I hate how miserable you've been.

I visited a physiatrist when we were trying to figure out why I was numb from hips to toes before I got the TM diagnosis.   He stuck needles in me, and then applied electric current to the needles.  Then he twisted the needles while applying electric current.   I don't think they would have been allowed to do that to prisoners at GITMO.   Mike said he'll pass.  LOL.   He does very much appreciate your prayers, and so do I.  It hurts to watch him walk.

Aw Mary Ann, I'm so sorry you have so much trouble getting in.   I know you had trouble getting in to the old MSN group, too.  We miss you!

Be good everyone ~ or if you can't be good, be careful not to get caught.

Hello ladies....
It has been a rough day for my mom again.  Yesterday late afternoon she was feeling lightheaded and did not know what was wrong.  I made her relax and eat some supper and she felt a little better.  I suggested she go to Urgent Care and get her blood checked.   She wanted to wait till this morning,  I think she was afraid they would keep her overnight at the hospital.  This morning she felt awful with all the symptoms of anemia again.  So my sister came and took her.  Yep, she was way down to 7.  Just 3 weeks ago she was 11.4
So they set her up in a temp room and she spent the day there getting 2 units of blood.  Last time she was at 5 and had to get 4 units of blood,
She went at 9am and got home at 6pm.  Now they are going to have to start all over again with where she is losing blood or a marrow check to see if she is just not creating enough red cells any more.  She is still very weak and SOB until that oxygen carrying blood level is up.  Nothing new with me and had one sister who thinks I am not doing enough around here.  Makes a person feel special.
:(  Makes me wonder if my mom was complaining to her.  I get so SOB no matter what I do.  Maybe if you have never experienced the feeling then you do not understand how horrid it is to gulp air and still feel as if you are suffocating.  It makes me weak and nauseous.  I told my mom now you know how I feel all the time.
Some days I so hate my life.
Everyone have a peaceful Sunday.
Hugs,

How is your weekend going?    We got another 'skiff' of snow last night.  Nothing to amount to much, but our walk and drive are lightly covered, and if it were tomorrow morning Mr & Mrs Gimp would be challenged getting the garbage and recycles to the curb.   Since we didn't take them out last week either because of the snow, this could be problematic.  lol   Maybe it will clear and not snow again overnight.   Fingers crossed.

Yesterday I actually did some work!   Under Mike's "supervision" I went through all the old videos stored in the TV Armoire in our bedroom and got rid of a ton of them, then brought DVD's that had been stored in the guest room in.  It not only looks a whole lot better because we had an overflow of videos that would not fit in the drawers so they 'lived' on the shelves holding the TV, VCR, DVD, etc, but it's going to be much more convenient.   I have a hard time throwing out anything, but I'm getting better at it, at least a little.

Lou Ann, how horrible.  You're in such bad shape yourself, and then to have to worry about your mom on top of it.  Gee, I'm so sorry you 'don't do enough around there'.   Grrrrrr.  Want me to cuff that sister upside the head for you?  It would be my pleasure!

So now they still don't know what's causing your mom's anemia?   I thought they finally had it figured out and could get on top of it.  I hate this in more ways than I can say, because Mike's brother is fighting the same battle.  He's had every test known to man it seems to me, and yet his blood is around 9.  He was the closest (physically) to his dad, about a 3 /2 hour drive away, so much of the work and on-hand presence fell to Tom.  Luckily they have a family friend who grew up with Tom and Marianne who was like a daughter to Ray, and she was there by his side all the time, but poor Tom got the brunt of it.  I feel so bad for him.  He sounds so exhausted, but he still has to work every day and he's his dad's executor so he has to deal with that too.  We've all been trying to help with those issues as much as we can, but it's still ultimately his responsibility.
I don't understand why they can't find the cause and fix the problem.

I can't imagine how awful it would be not to be able to get enough oxygen ~ and I don't want to find out.  Praying for you, my friend.
