I AM HERE, BUT I AM SO TIRED. SO THIS WILL BE A SHORT ONE.
I DO NOT KNOW HOW I MISSED POSTING YESTERDAY, I REALLY THOUGHT I HAD.
SOMETIMES I THINK I DISCONNECT FROM REALITY, LOL.
THE LADIES CAME TONIGHT.  WE CELEBRATED MOM AND GLORIA'S BIRTHDAYS.
THEY PICKED KFC AND IT WAS DELISH!  I HAVE NOT HAD KFC IN A LONG TIME.
CAROL MADE A DELICIOUS WHITE CAKE AND BROUGHT STRAWBERRIES AND WHITE
PEACHES CUT UP TO HAVE ON IT.  ALSO CULVER'S BUTTER PECAN CUSTARD.
I WAS FAR TO STUFFED...I HATE IT WHEN I OVER EAT.
WE SAT OUT ON THE PORCH FOR AND HOUR OR TWO.  CAROL AND HER
FAMILY HAD GONE ON A VACATION THE INCLUDED NIAGARA FALLS,
NEW YORK CITY, MAINE AND MORE.  WE LOOKED AT A LOT OF PICTURES.
SOME WERE BEAUTIFUL AND A LOT WERE CRAP, LOL.
THEY ARRIVED AT 5PM AND LEFT AT 10:30PM.  I WAS READY FOR THEM TO GO.
SAD TO SAY, BUT I WAS TIRED.  NOW I AM FINISHING UP MY COMPUTER STUFF
AND THEN I AM GOING TO BED.  DO NOT KNOW WHY I AM SO TIRED BUT I AM.
MMMMM, HOT DOGS AND CORN ON THE COB SOUNDS WONDERFUL.  LET ME GUESS...
OMAHA STEAKS, RIGHT?  IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE HOT HERE TOMORROW TOO.
THEN A BIT COOLER.
TRICIA'S DUE DATE IS TOMORROW, SO WE MAY HAVE ANOTHER BABY REAL SOON.
HOPING IT IS A GIRL.
OK, I AM OFF TO BED.
LOVE YOU.  HUGS,
LOU ANN

'Morning, Glories

Looks like another nice day here ~ high in the 90s and no rain.
Yesterday, we had the same prediction and it did reach the mid 90s, but in the late afternoon the dam broke and I don't remember when the last time we had a rain that hard!

We had a lovely late lunch at the Hideaway of open faced steak sandwiches.  Mike started with a lobster bisque appetizer and had French Fries with his.  I skipped the appetizer and had a fabulous salad of carrots and jicama in some sort of a sweet dressing.  I brought half of my steak home and Mike had it this morning with eggs for breakfast!

We weren't home long before the winds really kicked up and the sky darkened.  When the mail was delivered I ran out to get it right away because the sky looked threatening.  Good call.  it started to sprinkle as I headed for the mailbox, and 5 minutes later it was as if the dam broke!     We'll see how our "no rain" forecast for today goes.

I can understand your being tired.  I love company, but . . .   lol
Your friends always sound like so much fun, and your meals always sound sooo wonderful.

No, not Omaha Steaks.  I'll have to get the name of the place Mike ordered the hot dogs from.  He had ordered slider sized ground beef patties from this company he found on line, and they were honestly the best sliders ~ maybe the best Burgers ~ I've ever had!  So, he ordered hot dogs from them, and they were delicious, too.

He got some Steak Dogs from another place and they were fabulous ~ foot long and thick, but oh, so good.   I would have him join Shopaholics Annon. but I kinda like the stuff he finds.  LOL
smiley2

Have a nice day now Y'heah.

Hi gals

This morning when I tried to get in, it let me.  Go figure.

I have some unbelievable news.  Rob and April are getting divorced after 31 years!  I talk to April and she had nothing to say about why, so I am guessing is the same stuff she has been bitching about forever.  He is never home, he never wants to do anything with her, he's not romantic, etc., etc..  This time she has filed for divorce.  Maybe he should have listened to her.  Dave has gone up today to work with him on a part for the wind turbine so maybe they will talk.

I have become a kite board widow, as Dave is spending more time out on the lake playing than he does with me, so maybe it's high time I filed for divorce.  Just kidding.

Tomorrow we will go to storybook island for a birthday party and I will get to see my grandson.  That is the highlight of my weekend!

Big hugs to you Lou Ann!  I hope that you recouped from when your friends visited and that you caught up on your sleep!  Good luck on the new baby in the family.  Hope you get a girl.
.
Big hugs to you Dorothy!  Mike does sound like he finds the best food online!  Have you had any of the flooding they mention on the news?  What a summer it has been for scary weather!

Hugs,
annnieM

annnieM, so happy to see you here.  Now keep on

coming.  Love it!!  So happy.  I cannot believe that

April and Rob are divorcing.  But if she is not happy

why stay?  Is she alright financially?  That is why so

many women stay and do not leave.  So many couples

grow apart as they get older and develop different

interests.  You have to decide how important doing

things together is.  I am sorry to hear that Dave

spends so much time doing other things, but he has

always been busy or so it had seemed to me.

Dorothy, your meals are the ones that sound so

good to me, lol.  I would kill for a restautant

steak.  Ours at home are never as good.  Mom

says she just does not know how to cook them

right.  She uses the broiler, and they are not

bad, but just not as good as in a restaurant.

It was hot...low 80s and humid today so I

laid low....I do not do well in humidity.

BABY NEWS

Tricia is in Labor...not sure for how long, but

they are at the hospital.  Louann and Bruce

were there for both the girls deliveries, but not

with Tricia.  She is different, lol.  Louann is

predicting a girl as she is spending a lot of time

getting pretty for her entrance into the world.

She said a boy would have been here by now.

Anyway, I was gifted some tubes by my

Secret Sister in CDO.  So I made a tag with

one of them.  annnieM, if you would like one

just let me know, I will gladly make you one.

Big Happy Hugs,

RE:Welcome to August
(Date Posted:08/17/2014 8:44 AM)

Good Morning!

Yesterday was a lovely do-nothing day for us.  We watched our own 'Haven' marathon and then later in the evening a 'Closer' marathon, and enjoyed both thoroughly.  We went out on the porch for a while and gave the poor bedraggled petunias a Miracle Grow bath.  I know they are getting enough water, but they really look bad.  Our catty-corner neighbor also has petunias in pots and his are spectacular!

Ah, well.  Everything else looks good.  Our Mock Orange that we thought we were going to lose to transplant shock seems to be coming back nicely and looks healthy.  Our Bloomerangs have some buds/flowers (whatever you call the start of lilacs blooming) too, for the first time.  Just the start, but it's promising.

Much of the day, I read and I finished my Inspector Gamashe book.  Mercy, what a ride!   I literally could not put it down.  These books are stand alone mysteries but now looking back I can also see that each book is a puzzle piece, each piece (book) building on the last to complete the puzzle.  This story involved murder and the last of fictional Canadian Quintuplets, obviously loosely based on the Dionne Quints.   Do you remember them?  They'd be in their 80s now, if any have survived.   I need to look them up and refresh my memory and see what became of them.

That story line was interesting and fun to read, but the real gripper was finally putting the puzzle pieces together from all the books to see what the corrupt members of the Surete' de Quebec were trying to accomplish throughout the earlier books, and whether or not they would achieve success.  While I had no doubt Gamache would figure it all out, I couldn't see what he could possibly do to prevent a terrible tragedy.    I was also worried for my friends in Three Pines because much of the action took place there rather than in Montreal.  Louise Penny has been known to kill off people I'd grown fond of before.

Definitely a satisfying if exhausting read, but the bad news is that while I have been doling these books out to myself to make the series last longer, that was the last published book in the series!   Her newest will release on August 26th, but after that i will have to wait a whole year for the next!  Desole'! (as Gamache would say)

smiley2

annnieM!   How wonderful to see you!!  We've missed you so much.

I can't believe Rob and April are divorcing.  That has to have been a shock for the whole family.  Maybe it will be a wake up call for him ~ or is it really too late?  Sad, indeed.

But Happy Indeed is getting to spend some time with your beautiful grandson!  He must be getting so big now.

I don't even know what Kite Boarding is, but I will look it up after I finish this post.   Dave had better shape up, too!

No, we haven't had any flooding in our area, thank Goodness, though the area where one of our favorite restaurants in Lyons was hit so bad the last time it flooded was hit again.  Fortunately this time their restaurant was spared.  It got totally trashed last time, and they didn't have flood insurance. Terrible.

You sound good, but how are you really doing?   I really do miss you, ya know.

smiley2

Lou Ann how exciting ~ more babies for you to love.  Forgive my faulty memory, but is Tricia Louann and Bruce's daughter?  Don't be offended ~ I can barely keep straight who I am most of the time.  LOL

I LOVE my pretty big eyed kitty!  Thank you so much!   I will take good care of her.

WE HAVE A NEW BABY!  BORN AT 1:18 AM THIS

MORNING. TRICIA AND REID (LOUANN AND

BRUCES ELDEST AND ONLY SON) HAD A BABY

GIRL.  HER NAME IS SAILER MAY.  DO NOT ASK

ME WHERE THEY CAME UP WITH THAT NAME,

I HAVE NO CLUE.  HERE IS A PIC OF HER WITH

BIG BROTHER FINN, THOUGH YOU CANNOT

 SEE HER VERY WELL.

TRICIA CANNOT WAIT TO GO HOME,THIS WAS

HER FIRST TIME AWAY FROM FINN.

IT IS MUCH COOLER TODAY...THAT MAKES

ME HAPPY.  THOUGH THE NEIGHBORS ARE

HOGGING THE PORCH SO NO SITTING OUT

TODAY...THAT'S OK, WE HOGGED IT THE

OTHER NIGHT WHEN THE LADIES WERE OVER.

MOM IS OUT TO A CHURCH FUNCTION AT A

FRIENDS HOME OUT BY MY SISTER NEAR

ST. PETER'S, SO WHAT DID I WATCH WITH MY

FREE TV TIME???  DISNEY'S TANGLED.  IT WAS

CUTE. BUT I HAVE LIKED OTHERS BETTER.

NOW THE LITTLE MERMAID IS COMING ON,

BUT I HAVE SEEN THAT ONE MORE THAN

ONCE.  THE ONE I REALLY WANT TO SEE IS

FROZEN.  EVEN ADULTS SAID THEY LOVED IT.

WELL, TIME TO MOVE ALONG,

HAVE A MARVELOUS MONDAY!

Good Morning!  Welcome to a brand new week!

Looks like another hot one today, in the high 80s.  It kept threatening to rain yesterday, but never got around to it.  We went for a little ride and to mail some bills, but took the dirty Chrisler instead of the clean Lincoln just in case.

smiley29

How exciting ~ a new baby!   Sailer May is a cute name, wherever they got it from.  Does Finn like her, or has he decided yet?   It may take a while for him to realize he has to share center stage with her now.  He is such a cutie.

I haven't even heard of 'Tangled' or 'Frozen'. I'm so out of the main stream ~ as usual.  LOL

I ordered the Kevin Sorbo movie "God's Not Dead" yesterday.  I think I need some things like that to overcome all the bad and frightening news.

Have a happy Monday!

I do not know how Finn feels about Sailer, as I have not talked to Louann about it.  He loved the other babies, but that is not sharing his home with them.  Time will tell, lol.  I have a couple cute pics to share.

While Tricia was in labor, they took Finn to an Event about Butterflies.  She said...well, they want you walking so why not do something Finn will like? LOL

Here is a pic of the 3 Fauska siblings and their new babies.

Kirstie (in blue, youngest) with 3 mo old Liam.  Nerissa (Rissa in aqua, middle child) with 6 wk old Samuel.  Reid (oldest) with newborn Sailer.

Sailer

We are having storms but not good thunder boomers like I like.  But a ton of rain and other counties have flood warnings out.  We can use the rain but when it comes fast and hard, most of it runs down sewers and into lakes and rivers.  We need slow, steady rain to make the plants happy.

I want you to read this article.  We know the mom and child.  Her mother and Vicki and baby are members of our church.  It is horrific and they do not think the baby will make it.  After reading the article all I could think was how much did she know and what the hell was she doing with him?

http://www.fdlreporter.com/story/news/local/2014/08/18/fdl-registered-sex-offender-facing-child-abuse-charges/14260281/

We have been praying for Ta, pronounced like the letter K (mom was not sure of the spelling)  But I have been praying that God do whatever is best in this case.  If he will be nothing but a vegetable, etc, then I hope that God takes him home to heaven.  I cannot believe that Vicki and mother Carol did not know any of his background.  First thing I do is check WI Circuit Court records when someone new comes into our lives or our house.  This is so horrendous and I know it happens every day somewhere in the world, but it takes on so much more when you know the family.

Please pray for them.

Good Morning Lou Ann and

Happy Birthday Mary Ann.  Please celebrate by coming back to us.

What wonderful pictures, Lou Ann!   I love the picture of the families ~ it helps me keep straight "who's who".

Sailer is beautiful, which doesn't surprise me having seen all the pictures of Finn.

OhMyGosh, I did read the article.  I probably haven't expressed to you how very UN-Christian I am.  It's time you knew.  If I ruled the world, the "men" of ISIS and Hamas and other terrorist groups would have their punishment fit their crimes against women and children, crimes of gang rape followed by stoning to death the woman who was raped for committing 'adultery', and genital mutilation of young girls and women, and more.   I would have these "men" de-balled, with a rusty knife ~ or maybe a fork, and delight in their frustration when they were given their 72 virgins.  BTW, think about those Virgins.  They aren't likely 18 year old women because old men "marry" girls as young as three.  I'm not sure how soon they consummate the marriage, but the Virgins they are planning to be rewarded with are children!  So, to my way of thinking, these Young Heroes are nothing but a bunch of filthy Pedophiles.  I think my punishment is perfect for them.

I'd have no problem sending the man in the article to the same "Correction Facility".

If you no longer want to be friends, I understand. I'm not a very nice person, and now you know. smiley65    That poor baby.  It just breaks your heart.

Hello Dorothy.
We are just sick about Ta.  I am so sad that his mother Vicki was not more careful.  She is in total denial.  She does not believe her boyfriend did it.  Love is blind.  To me, if I had met a new boyfriend, before I would ever let him live in the house with me and my child, I would do a background check.  It is so easy to access the Wisconsin Circuit Court records.  Or His grandmother Carol, I cannot believe no one checked him out.  This is so devastating.  Our whole church is praying for Ta.  Here is a picture of Vicki and Ta taken at our church.  Please continue to pray for him.
I am totally with you on punishment.  I think they should have done to them what they did to others only 10 fold.  I am pro death penalty as long as there is irrevocable proof, like DNA, etc that they are guilty.

Now for something more pleasurable.
Here are the hospital pics of Sailer, 8 hours old.

And the 3 babies together.
I picked this one since Samuel is picking on Liam.
LOL

RE:Welcome to August
(Date Posted:08/20/2014 11:29 AM)

Good Morning.

Earlier this week Mike got a call from the people who maintain his Oxygen Concentrator saying they wanted to come out and check the machine.  Fine ~ but when they set the appointment up for today, they said Mike should call TODAY and find out what time they would come.  Interesting way to run a business ~ I guess their customers are just supposed to hang around the house all day to be available for whenever they want to come.  So, Mike called and she said she would have 'him' call us back.  Mike just called again, after waiting for an hour and a half.  Apparently 'he' will be here between 11 and 1.  Actually, we didn't have any plans for today, so I shouldn't care, but it's just irritating to me.   I had to pop out of bed and get the bedroom where the concentrator lives and myself company ready, and you really can't start anythin when you don't have a clue when they will be here.  Irritating.

Now we've been waiting for half an hour for the President to speak about the beheading of the  American Journalist by ISIS.  Everyone is all ready and waiting.  He could work for the Concentrater Company.

The Journalist's parents are speaking now.  My heart is breaking.  They are saying Jim wouldn't want us to hate so they will not hate, but clearly implied that ISIS is motivated only by hatred.    What kind of a world are we living in?

On a happier note, I posted a new update from Barbara that I received this morning.    For all the foul disgusting supposed humans like the members of ISIS, there are truly good people like Barbara and the Foleys.  Will good one day overcome evil?   Anyway, check out Barbara's  update.

Ah.  Mr Obama finally showed up.  He denounced ISIS and ISIL but no indication of what if anything we might do next.  Another American Journalist's life has been threatened.

Lou Ann, aww just look at that precious baby.  It really does break your heart.  I can understand his mom not wanting to believe that her boy friend is responsible, because then she would have to accept that she is somewhat responsible herself for allowing the monster access to her child.  She surely feels terrible enough without adding a feeling of guilt.

Ah!  The pictures of Sailer are so far the only happy things I've been exposed to today.  She really is beautiful!

I love seeing your three babies together, too.  I may have to claim them just a bit cuz pictures are as close as I'm getting to babies these  days.   I'm imagining that lovely baby-smell and precious softness and 'healing' a bit from all of the news.  I am not imagining diapers.  I can watch the news to get that feeling.  LOL

I saw that ISIS is threatening to behead another journalist.  I do not know what the answer to all this is.     I would not want the responsibility of deciding.   You are damned if you do and damned if you don't.  I swear we are headed into world war 3.  Everywhere there are atrocities occurring and the world is just sitting back and letting it happen.  I do not want to go to war but I do not want us standing idly by as so many are tortured and killed.  Did you post the article about ISIS meeting with Mexicans.  If fear they come over the border  and we will be totally unprepared.  I hate thinking about it and I try not to.  I do not want an anxiety attack.  I have had a couple in my time.

Mom wants to make watermelon pickles but we have gotten 2 watermelons and the rind has been too thin.  You need a nice thick rind.  So frustrating.  I do not care for them but others do and mom has been promising to make them.  I told her to get a big melon as it would have a better chance of having a thick rind.

Today was the church rummage sale and they have more stuff than ever before.....and no one came.  They could not figure out why.  Usually they are piled up outside the door waiting for it to open.  Apparently it was not in the paper as it was supposed to be.  They put some signs outside and got some people that way.  But very little.  It is for 4 hours tomorrow too.  They decided they are going to put it all into one of the unused Sunday School Rooms and run it again in September making sure there is plenty of advertising.

Our oxygen people do the same thing.  They come to check the oxygen about every 6 months.  I guess because we do not go anywhere we do not worry about it.  But I do like a scheduled time.

The baby pics make me so happy too.  I wish you could get some baby time too.  Have you gotten any pics lately?

Bye bye to Hump days and welcome to Throwback Thursday.  Find an old pic and post it tomorrow.

Hugs,

Tonight I was able to use the diamond way. :D

We've made it past Hump Day.  Can the weekend be far behind?

It's garbage day and ~ I can't think of much more excitement we have planned. A load of laundry, perhaps     How 'bout you?

The Concentrator Guy got here within the (finally) appointed time, and was here all of about 15 minutes.  I think this is only the second time they have come to check the machine since we got this newer model three years ago, but all seems to be working well.

I had the news on more than I had planned, but still a bit less than I might usually with such terrible things going on.  I'm still deleting email "updates".  I could just "accept the things I can not change", but if my country goes down without my having even lifted a finger to have prevented it, I'm going to feel even worse I suspect.  My letters and emails have been SO effective in the past ~ not ~ but at least I know that I have tried.   I dunno.  It seems to be a choice between nervous breakdown and guilt.  I can't win.

Yes, I did share a post on Facebook about ISIS coming over the border.  This border situation is absolutely terrifying on so many levels.  Not only the possibility of things like Ebola coming in, but of our becoming like the Iraqi Christians and other groups who have lived there in peace for centuries and now are driven out of their homes, beheaded, hanged and crucified ~ men, women and children.  I haven't been able to understand why countries like England have allowed themselves to be so taken over, and now my own country seems to be going in the same direction.

I am completely disgusted with our Government on both sides who seem to be determined to tear down our borders and leave us unprotected and overwhelmed with Foreign Nationals who will become our responsibility and take our jobs and our places in the schools and hospitals.  I know I seem selfish, but if we can't take care of ourselves, we can't help anyone else.  In the past, we've been the most generous of Nations, but that was when WE were strong.

I've been scratching my head at why BOTH parties seem to be determined for this to happen.  I think (but don't really know) what's behind it, and it sickens me.

Ah ~ Enuf!

How sad the Church Rummage Sale wasn't successful.  It sounds like it should have been but for the lack of good advertising.

I'm afraid I have trouble participating in Throwback Thursday since most of my old pictures are in boxes somewhere in the basement.  Sad after three years, but true.

No New Topic

Hugs ~

THROWBACK THURSDAY, LET'S SEE WHAT I CAN FIND.

I MAY HAVE SHARED THIS ONE IN THE PAST, BUT I DO NOT

HAVE A LOT OF THE OLDER PICS ON MY COMPUTER.

I AM BIT SURE WHAT YEAR THIS WAS.  I AM THINKING

IT IS ABOUT 1969 AND I WOULD BE 12 GOING ON 13.  WE WERE

OUT EAST IN MARYLAND VISITING MOMS FAMILY.  I AM THE

OLDEST GIRL SO YOU CAN FIGURE OUT WHICH ONE IS ME.

MIKE, THE OLDEST WAS THE SAME HEIGHT AS I AND SINCE

VERY LITTLE ON PEOPLE THOUGHT WE WERE TWINS AND

WOULD REFER TO US AS THE BOBBSEY TWINS.  DO YOU

REMEMBER THOSE BOOKS?  MY MOM HAD THEM, LOL.  I DID

NOT APPRECIATE THE COMPARISON AT THAT TIME.  I KNEW

SINCE KINDERGARTEN THAT MIKE WAS SPECIAL NEEDS

(RETARDED, IN THOSE DAYS)

AND I ALWAY THOUGHT IT REFLECTED ON ME.

I EVENTUALLY OUTGREW THAT.  BUT NOT TILL JR HIGH.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT FOR THE NEXT WEEK IS TO LOCATE

AN OLD PICTURE TO SHARE BY NEXT THURSDAY AND I

PROMISE TO POST A DOOZY!

ANYWHO, WE HAD CHINESE FOR SUPPER TONIGHT.  MOM AND

ALWAYS SHARE SO WE GOT ROAST PORK EGG FOO YOUNG

AND MOO SHU PORK.  BUT IN THE END MOM DID NOT LIKE THE

MOO SHU SO SHE WILL GET THE EGG FOO YOUNG LEFTOVERS

AND I WILL HAVE THE MOO SHU.  IT IS NICE THIS WAY

BUT IT ALSO MEANS I CANNOT PICK SOMETHING THAT MY

MOM WOULD NOT LIKE.  I OVER ATE TO AN EXTREME AND

I REGRETTED IT AFTER.  YOU NEVER KNOW UNTIL IT

SUDDENLY CATCHES UP WITH YOU.

O2 GUY, 15 MIN....HARDLY WORTH ALL THE BOTHER, FUSS

AND WORRY INVOLVED.

TODAY IS OUR DAY....SENIOR CITIZEN DAY.

HAVE YOU HUGGED A SENIOR TODAY?

LOL, HUGS,

RE:Welcome to August

Admittedly Friday is less wonderful than it was when I was working.  It's cooler today ~ ultimately a high in the mid 70s with a 70% chance of rain, which may or may not mean anything. Ha.  We're going for a few groceries and then to "Freddy's" for burgers for early dinner (or late lunch).  Freddy's is a lot like the old Steak and Shake we used to love on our trips to Davenport, and a new one opened up next to The Keg.  This is one of Mike's chosen Birthday Outings.   Hopefully we make it without getting soaked.

Did you see that both of the Americans who came home with Ebola are cured and released from the Hospital?  Praise the Lord!  Finally some GOOD news.  Now maybe that experimental drug can be used to help others.

I knew you right away from your beautiful smile!  You didn't even have to tell me.   I'm afraid none of my really old pictures are get-to-able.  I really miss being able to get to my old scarpbooks.  Maybe some day.

Yes, I certainly do remember the Bobbsey Twins!  Shades of my long lost youth!   It's hard for me to imagine how you felt about being so closely associated with your brother ~ or maybe it's not.  We are so completely vulnerable to other's opinions when we are young.     I did volunteer work with kids with Downs Syndrome before I moved to Omaha and met Mike.  They were a pure joy to me ~~~ but they weren't MY kids.  My best friend had six kids and was expecting twins.  I was to be Godmother.  When they were born, the little girl had Downs Syndrome and my friend, who was the most loving, motherly person I'd ever known was not only devastated as anyone would be, but embarrassed as well.  I honestly couldn't understand that at the time.  Again, it's so different when they aren't YOUR kids or YOUR brother that's it's hard to understand from the outside looking in ~ until you really look closely and put yourself in the other person's shoes.  Little Sarah died within a few days, and Steven, my God Son, thrived.

How ever did I miss Senior Citizen's Day?  I guess every day is Senior's Day for me now.  Ha!

Love 'n Hugs,

Dorothy
