RE:Welcome to August
(Date Posted:08/08/2014 8:17 PM)

Today I continued reading my book.  It was a pleasant day.

Nothing special going on.  Took care of moms meds for the

week.  That is another task I do for her.  It all gets too

confusing for her.  We both take a lot of meds.  Too many!

I also did some creating today.  I had challenges to do for my

CDO group.  I missed several weeks of them.  I was happy to

feel inspired by the challenges.  I also think that my

increased antidepressant med is kicking in and helping.

Mom bought me some Jelly Belly's.  I told her to quit buying me

things through Publishers Clearing House because you pay way

to much through them.  It is her money but she is wasting it.

She keeps telling me she is going to stop, but packages keep

coming.  Moving on to the next set, lol.

I just could not hold one back for tomorrow.  Had to share them
both today, lol.  I actually have another challenge to do yet.  So will
get it done tomorrow.
I forgot to tell you that Jordan had his court hearing.  Do you remember that I told you and ex girlfriend accused him of rape?  Well they investigated it and the two other kids present said that they did have sex but that it was definitely consensual.  The girl was 16 and Jordan was 18.
They agreed to knock the charges down to 2 misdemeanors.  The first was having consensual sex with a person 16 but less that 18, or something like that.  The 2nd was for interfering with the investigation because he originally told the cop investigating the case that he did not have sex with her.  The judge still had the option of listing him as a sex offender.  He put him on 2 years probation with a lot of rule....cannot see the ex, cannot be with anyone under the age of 18, absolute sobriety and no drugs.  No alcohol in the house and no guns in the house.  He may not be able to live with his family because they live only a block from a grade school (this is stupid...he is not a pediphile) He has a probation officer that he has to check in weekly with (at this time) and he has to get a job!!  If he screws this up, it is nobody's fault but his own.  We are hoping this two year restrictions will help him to grow up.  He cannot even take his skateboard or bike to the skate park because of the kids there.  I pray he manages to abide by these rules for the 2 years...he will need the prayers.
Ok, enough doom and gloom.  I hope you will have a wonderful weekend.  The only thing I have planned is to finish my book, lol.
Hugs,

Good Morning!
It's Saturday and I don't have a thing planned for today.  Hooray!

And then Double Hooray ~ I got two gorgeous new tags, and I love them both!  Thank you so much!   As you've noticed, I save the tags, and then I save the matching borders too.   No fool,I!  LOL

I read yesterday, too.  I'm really enjoying "Billionaire Blend" and I'm actually reading more than two pages at a time!     I'm glad you had some uninterrupted reading time.

Yesterday I spent way too long online, and between all that I was reading and watching the news, I really got myself upset.

I have really been stressing out about the mental images of little children in Iraq being beheaded or hanged ~ why does it effect us so much more emotionally when it's kids, even though we know the adults are facing the same things?  And the images of people being driven from their centuries old homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs to starve or die of thirst on a mountain.  Or of people dying so horribly of Ebola.  And perhaps most of all of the people of ISIS NOT being subjected to the same horrible fates.  I have truly evil wishes for them.  Nothing could be bad enough to make me not enjoy reading that it befell them.
If we are sitting here thinking this could not happen in America with our wide open borders and Politically Correct acceptance of everything (except plain old American Christians and Jews), we are being very naive.  Lord help us all.
New Topic
No, with all that has been going on, you didn't tell me about Jordan's hearing.   I really pray that he doesn't get the 'sex offender' label permanently attached.  It could ruin his life!

I'm so relieved that the charges were knocked down to misdemeanors!   What he did was dumb ~ stupid, even ~ but so easy to see a kid doing it.  I'm sure an 18 year old doesn't give a lot of thought about whether it's wrong to have sex with a willing sexually mature 16 year old and lying about it to a cop would be what I suspect most kids might do to make this trouble go away.   I'm not justifying it for him, but I really can 'see' it and in my mind it doesn't make him a criminal, just a dumb kid.

That said, I hope he is "scared straight" and will stay on the straight and narrow for the next two years.   It could be the making of him.  Or . . . well we won't think about the "or".   The rule about not being around little kids is dumb ~ like so many of our one-size-fits-all rules these days.

What does the rest of the family think?   What does HE think?

Have a great day.  Happy reading!

RE:Welcome to August
(Date Posted:08/09/2014 3:32 PM)

My day ended horribly yesterday.  I clicked on a puppy link in my news feed.  I thought I would be watching a cute video, the language was not english so I had no clue what it said.  What I saw had scarred me and I thought I was going to throw up.  I watched a little puppy be burned alive.  It was horrendous.  I reported the link to facebook, but I am sure they will do nothing about it.  I kept seeing little kids clicking on the link...I know they are too young for facebook but you know they are there.  My nephews were.  The worst part was the is was boys doing this...young teens.  I wanted to cry but could not.  Honestly, I do not want to live in this world any more.  I no longer recognize it.  What is wrong with people?
Decapitation, Starvation, Disease and Torture...can Armageddon be far away?  Dorothy, it is so scary.
Then I decided to read...I know sooner got into it when the stupid book ended.  I was sdo dissatisfied with this one.  It left things hanging which is something she usually does not do.  I was left feeling so unsettled.  I do not like that she has done this.  Oh well. it is just a story.
As far as Jordan, and I hate to say this, but I do not think he will manage to stay on the straight and narrow for 2 years.  He is of the age when they are testing the waters of so many things and I do not think he has the maturity to do it.  Who knows what the others think.  No one in his family ever tells the truth and that includes my sister.  I cannot believe anything that comes from them.  I do not think the rest of the family even knows that he had his hearing.  They are too busy with their own lives.
I am praying for all, for the whole world.  We need Peace and Understanding.  I am ready for God to take on a little retribution of his own.  Lord Help Us All!!!
Love and Hugs,

And one for you.

RE:Welcome to August
(Date Posted:08/10/2014 8:21 AM)

Good Morning.

Wonder of wonders, no Benedryl last night and I still slept until 6 AM!  Ahhhh.

Apparently yesterday was Book Lover's Day, and I missed it.  Admittedly I'm not the reader I once was, but I do still love my books!    I just finished the Cleo Coyle "Billionaires Blend" (coffee shop mystery) and started the last Louise Penny Inspector Gamache book.  I have been doling those out to myself so I won't read through the series too fast.  She has a new book coming out on the 26th, but after that I'm going to have to start waiting a whole year for the next book.  smiley58

Oh, Lou Ann, I'm so sorry you saw that awful YouTube!  I read your post last night and didn't respond, but it upset me terribly just thinking about it. I am so grateful that I didn't see it!  We look at the people "over there" who are doing such awful things and can't even imagine how they got that way.  Then we look here 'next door' and see such horrid acts.  If monster "children" like this decide to get a cause like Hamas or ISIS, we'd better get an arsenal and build bunkers!   I'm sure I should try to understand what makes people be that way ~ but there really is no point in my trying because I'll never be able to understand.  I remember reading Cujo years ago and my heart breaking for that delightful big old dog. He was just playing and having fun when he was bitten and he couldn't help becoming rabid ~~ but once he was, trying to pet or give him love wasn't going to do anything but get you bitten and made rabid.  I loved him in the beginning of the book, and I felt so sorry for what he became, but I didn't question that he needed to be put down.

Shiela in the other group was talking about folks marching for a 'cause' and how ineffective that was.  I understand being frustrated and wanting to DO something, and I also think some of them just want to be part of a group and have fun.  I remember interviews of Occupy Wall Street participants whose every other word was bleeped, but when asked what it was that they wanted all you got was a goofy smile and more bleeps.  Even huge, disastrous (and embarrassing) things like Occupy Wall Street don't actually change anything.

I was watching a demonstration online the other day ~ rather nauseating ~ with a not too large group marching through New York's Diamond District, which is primarily Jewish, with pro Hamas banners and  chants.  I mean ~ Gag Me!  Of course they wanted to draw attention to themselves and be 'in your face' with the Jewish Community and to intimidate them.  It went on for a while, when all of a sudden the business owners started shuttering their shops and gathered surrounding the Pro-Hamas demonstrators and walking along side them.  They didn't touch them or shout insults, they just started chanting ISRAEL, ISRAEL, and later singing Jewish songs and dancing.  The Hamas Thugs looked bewildered.  Bullies don't know what to do when their targets stand up to them.  It really was great to watch.

I was glad to see the President order air strikes and food drops for those poor Christians being driven from their homes.   God help those poor people.  Finally the Pope spoke out.  I don't understand how folks can not realize that you can't be friends with Terrorists. When their position is 'Convert to Islam or leave your generations old home or I will cut your head and your children's heads off or hang you all', what point is there in trying to reason with them or "get along" with them.  I don't know what made them that way, but now they are rabid dogs and as far as I know, there is only one 'cure'.

Whew.  So There.  smiley80

I was thinking about Jordan and hoping that his family would help him do the right things for the next two years.  If they ignore the situation or help him not follow the rules, they will destroy him. I'll pray for him, too.

On a MUCH happier note ~~ thank you for the great new tag!  However did you do that?  Is it a fliter or something?  WAY kewl ~ Thank you!!

Dorothy, I made the cats at an online link.

Just have to fool around with it.  Lots of different shapes, color combinations, etc.  You write the wording in the "load" section.

I was so disappointed in the Samantha Sweet book.  I started a
book that I had downloaded free and right away a woman was being raped and stabbed the rapist in the eye.  I just could not read it and deleted the book.  I need to find some positives in life.
Tragedy happens everywhere.  Did you see that a NASCAR driver was killed in a race?  So sad. Death comes from many directions.
I want to think about life.  It is time for some baby cuddles.  I need to see if Rissa can visit with Samuel.  I need the innocence of babies and the pure love we feel.

I am happy to hear you slept well without assistance.  Yay, time for this sleeplessness to turn around.  I did another challenge.  This one was a colour challenge.  There was a site that tells you what your birth day color is...not birthstone but by the day.  Oct 1 is purple.  So we had to make any type tag with our color being predominant.  So here is mine (and yours, lol)

Hello.

I'm posting tonight because we are planning to go to breakfast in Longmont tomorrow morning and I want to be sure I have time for a shower before we leave.  We haven't been there in ages and they have the BEST Eggs Benedict!

Thanks for the link to the site where you made the cat tag.  I will HAVE to try that.  It's so clever.  Thank you even more for yet another beautiful tag!  You are spoiling me ~~ and I love it!

I did see the Race Car driver who was killed.  So young.  So sad.   I agree with you ~ I'm drawn to the news because I don't want to be one of those folks who haven't a clue what's going ~ and still vote.  On the other hand . . . well, you know.  Really hard to be positive now.   Baby hugs would do it!  Unfortunately all the babies in my world are far away.  Hug yours an extra time for me!

Thank you again for my purrrrfect tag!   I love it.
Talk to you later.

I just got another update from Barbara in Niger and posted it.

Good Afternoon.

I got a really good night's sleep (hooray!) and was getting ready to head for the shower when Mike asked if I would be disappointed if we didn't go for breakfast this morning.  HE couldn't sleep last night!   Honestly, what the heck is going on with so many of us not sleeping?   So, we'll save the breakfast at Lucile's for another day.

Unfortunately, this gave me more time to watch the news.  Dear Lord ~ ISIS buried 500 women and children ALIVE.  They are monsters straight from hell.

Tomorrow morning the fella is coming to wash and detail our car in our own driveway.   Can you even imagine our neighbors?  What are the Butcher's having done for them NOW?!   LOL   He's supposed to come between 11 and 1.

I am so sad.  I cannot believe that Robin Williams is dead.
What a loss to the world...he always made me laugh.  He was
brilliant!!  But depression can be so devastating.
I do not know how you can watch the shows.  I get so upset
that I cannot watch.  Today I saw a pic in my feed of men
with a bunch of heads in front of them.  A couple on sticks,
others just laying there.  It is just disgusting.  Why is the world
tolerating this?  It is just too much for me.
Well, Jordan has blown it already.  He is not supposed to be on
the computer.  He went in and changed his name on face book.
But the idiot posted a pic of himself.  I am half tempted to get
ahold of his probation officer and tell him.  He also lost his
drivers license due to losing all his points and unpaid fines.
I contacted the girls...Kirstie and Nerissa and I am going to
have some Liam and Samuel time on Wed.  Cannot wait.
At least for a short while all will be right in the world...
or maybe I should say my world.
Sorry that you did not get to go out to breakfast.  I do not know
what we can do to get the two of you sleeping well.  I had a really
good night.  Have fun with the detailing tomorrow.  Will you sit
out and watch?  I expect a couple of pics, lol.
This time I made roses.
Hugs,

Good Morning.

Just hanging around waiting for "the guy" to come and detail the car and enjoying a good cup of coffee.

The news about Robin Williams' death is sad.  There is so much awful news, and so little good news right now.   I'm glad you're going to get a baby-fix!  I know it will help.

I can't begin to understand why the world is tolerating the things that are going on.  It's almost as if we are accepting these horrors as if they are just one of the things we have to accept and deal with in life.  It's insane!

Thank you for the beautiful rose!  I did go to the site and played a bit, but I need to spend more time to really figure it out ~ and I'm just not in the mood right now.   I do love the things you have made for me.

Good Morning, and Happy Hump Day!

More sad news from the entertainment community ~ Lauren Bacall died yesterday.  Will it come in threes?  Will we see another icon lost?

I was just watching an ISIS Child on TV, screaming that the shopkeepers there (in Iraq)  don't realize that all they have comes from Allah and they must learn.  Clearly their intention is to take everything away from everyone so we will all "learn".  He screamed, his face contorted, that they will divide America and destroy Europe and America.  I think they've already achieved the "divide" part.   I'm more afraid than I have ever been in my life.  I'm glad I don't have children.  I don't understand "lead from behind" and that the leaders of all the countries are willing to let ISIS gain strength and just wait and see what will happen.  It's pretty clear what will happen to me.

Meanwhile, back in oblivion ~~~~

Yesterday was a mixed bag.  The guy was supposed to come between 11 and 1, but he didn't get here until just before 2.  Mike called at 12:30 to confirm the appointment and was told he would be here around 1:15 ~ then the guy called and said he was trapped in a traffic jam in I-70 (head on car fatality we learned) and was trying to get off the highway.   Anyway, even though we weren't planning to do anything else, for some reason just waiting is exhausting.  You feel like you can't do anything else, even though of course you could.

When he finally came, he only took a bit less than an hour and a half, and did a beautiful job.  He even has his own water tank so he didn't have to hook up to our water.

Can you imagine what our neighbors were thinking?  'What are those Butchers having done for them NOW?!'   LOL

He hosed the car off, soaped it up and washed it good then hosed it off again and dried with with a chamois.  Then he cleaned and vacuumed the inside, taking the floor mats out and brushing them before he vacuumed them, vacuuming the trunk and polishing the dash.  There were other things too.

Cleaning and Polishing the wheels.  Mike sees the wheels before he sees the rest of a car, I swear, so this was great.  Then he hand waxed the rest of the car.

We hadn't had the cars fully detailed in Forever.  We usually just go to the car wash and have them washed, vacuumed and a spray wax applied.   I felt like this was a real treat for Mike, not only because he didn't have to go and stand and wait for an hour, but because the cars were done the way HE used to do them.  We've already made an appointment to have the Chrysler done in September ~ but we made that appointment for EARLY in the day.

I'm going to double check, but I think this was only about $5 more than having it done at the Car Wash!

smiley28

Have a wonderful, healing day with your friends!

I HAD A LOVELY DAY WITH MY FRIENDS WITH LOTS OF BABY TIME.
SAMUEL IS NOT 6 WEEKS OLD AND LIAM IS 3 MONTHS.  I HAD LIAM
LAUGHING AND HE IS SO ALERT AND OF COURSE EVERYTHING GOES
IN IS MOUTH.  SAMUEL IS STILL THAT BABY STAGE WHERE THEY
REALLY DO NOT SEEM TO FOCUS YET.  THOUGH HE SEEMED TO BE
FASCINATED WITH THE CEILING FAN, LOL.  HE WAS VERY FUSSY
TODAY BUT I GOT MY HOLDING AND HUGGING IN.  I HELD ONE OR
THE OTHER FOR A COUPLE HOURS.
WE HAD POTLUCK FOR SUPPER....FISH SANDWICHES AND LEFT
OVERS REHEATED.  PIZZA, SEVERAL DIFFERENT CHINESE DISHES
CHIPS AND SALSA AND FRUIT...CHERRIES, GRAPES AND CANTALOPE.  TWO KINDS OF CAKE FOR DESSERT...CHOCOLATE ZUCCHINI CAKE WITH CHOC-BUTTER CREAM FROSTING AND A BLUEBERRY AN D PEACH CAKE THAT  SEEMED LIKE A BREAKFAST COFFEE CAKE, BUT WAS MY FAVORITE.
HERE IS A PIC FROM TODAY, THOUGH NOT WITH ME, LOL.

I THINK IT IS WONDERFUL TO HAVE YOUR CAR HAND DETAILED LIKE THAT.  I DO NOT THINK THE CAR WASHES DO THE BEST JOB.  SEEMS WHEN YOU GET HOME YOU NOTICE PLACES INSIDE AND OUT THAT THEY MISSED.  SINCE MIKE LOVES HIS CARS THIS REALLY HAD TO BE GREAT FOR HIM.  I AM HAPPY HE SET UP THE OTHER CAR TO ALSO GET THIS SPECIAL ATTENTION.
OH, I GOT MY HAIR CUT SHORT WHILE I WAS THERE.  I WAS LIFTING MY HAIR OFF MY NECK AND SAID I NEED A HAIRCUT ONE OF THESE DAYS....I WANT MY HAIR OFF MY NECK.  SO SHE DID IT, THEN WE DECIDED TO CUT IT OVER MY EARS AS SHE HAD LEFT THAT LONGER BUT I WANTED IT GONE.  I JUST AM SICK OF BEING HOT.
I WILL SEE IF I CAN GET A PIC OF MY WITH MY NEW DO!  LOUANN SAID I HAD A BROKEN BLOOD VESSEL IN
MY EYE AND THAT IT WAS PROBABLY FROM COUGHING.  I SEEM TO REMEMBER GETTING A QUICK SHARP PAIN IN THAT EYE THAT WENT AS FAST AS IT CAME.  IT WILL CLEAR UP EVENTUALLY.
I SAW THIS SAYING ON FACEBOOK TODAY....I THOUGHT WEDNESDAY WAS HUMP DAY?  THE DAY IS ALMOST OVER AND I HAVEN'T BEEN HUMPED!!
HUGS,

Good Afternoon.   Marcela and her friend came this morning so I didn't try to post while they were here.  Together they were done in an hour and a half, and from what I can see so far, they did a good job.

While they were working, Mike took the Chrysler in to be emissions checked.  What a pain in the tush, but it went fairly fast at least and he also had time to stop by the tire place and have the tires checked out and pumped up because they were too low.

Now he wants to celebrate, so we're going out for a late lunch at BJs.

I saw on the news this morning that Robin Williams daughter cancelled her Twitter account because people were tweeting hateful things to her about her father's death.  Can you even imagine?!     I'm guessing it was not something bad about him, so it might have been something like "I think you're responsible."   I don't know.  Whatever the comments were, they were creepy and hateful.  I don't understand people at all.

Those babies are too adorable.  I know how healing baby-hugs are!   I'm so glad you had a great day, with great food and a hair cut, too!

Sorry you didn't get humped on Hump Day.  LOL

Have a great day!

Hello.  TGIF.

It looks like we're heading back into hot weather ~ 86 today and in the high 80s and no rain until Tuesday.   The Lawn Mowers are here in the neighborhood, and we are going out to a late lunch at The Hideaway.  This is part of Mike's birthday celebration ~ he decided to celebrate throughout the month instead of trying to cram it all into one week. We're gettin' old ~ we can't handle concentrated celebratin' anymore.  LOL

When Mike got home from the emissions test shortly before the girls left, he wanted to go out for a late lunch or early dinner, and I thought that sounded good too.  However ~~~ you know how tired we get watching someone else clean our house.  By the time we should have been getting ready to go, neither of us wanted to, so we just stayed home and had a hotdog and corn on the cob.  Ha!

I was watching the news from Ferguson this morning.  Apparently they have the boy who was killed on video stealing a $42 box of cigars from a convenience store, and shoving the owner.  The cop stopped him because he was actually a suspect in the robbery.  Then the conflicting stories ~ the cops say he punched the officer who shot him in his car.  The other "witnesses" say he was just walking down the street minding his own business.  The officer went to the hospital with injuries so I tend to believe he was attacked.  Whether he was sincerely afraid for his life enough to justify shooting the teenager, i don't think we can know.  The Black Panthers telling people to loot and destroy property makes no sense at all.   If I were the convenience store owner or the cop or his family or his neighbors, I'd be scared to death.

Have a Fabulous Friday!
