(Date Posted:01/21/2014 9:32 PM)

Hello ladies
I really do not have much to say.  I feel better today but still
having some issues.  We are in the deep freeze again.  Brrrr,
So I did not go for my blood draw and it does not look like I
will be going tomorrow either, since my mom has and appt.
So, I have been expanding my creating horizons and did a fun
but difficult tut today.  I made you all a tag. :)  Will post them
on the pick up thread.  There are tags for annnieM, Ayla. Barb, Dorothy and Mary Ann.
Have a great Hump Day tomorrow.
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO THE JANUARY 2014 CHECK-IN
(Date Posted:01/22/2014 7:55 AM)

Good Morning.   Our temps have dropped from 63 yesterday to 'it may get into the low 40s today' and we're expecting snow tonight.  Supposed to be below freezing tomorrow, then back up to the 50s.  Crazy.

Yesterday was a looong but basically good day.  Mountain High Landscaping called  late last week to say they would be out yesterday to remove the Christmas decorations ~~ FINALLY ~~ if we would be home.  Mike told them that we would be gone in the morning, but here in the afternoon.  So, yesterday they were here at 8 AM!   Mike told them we were leaving at 9.  They had sent three guys and they finished at 8:45 so we could leave for my appointment with no problems at 9:15.

Good to not be the only house in the neighborhood with Christmas decorations still up!

I do the readings of my defibrillator remotely from home twice a year and then go into the office once a year.  They attach electrodes and put a mouse over the device and download information and then pace my heart to ensure the device is working properly.  Definitely no big deal, BUT it's been in for a little over 7 years I think and could be coming to the end of it's life cycle.  When that happens, it requires out patient surgery to remove the old device and install a new one.  That would also be no big deal except for my crappy veins.  You remember last time I went in at 6 for surgery at 8, but since they couldn't get any blood from this turnip or get a line in for an IV to put me to sleep, they didn't actually start the surgery until noon and I was there until 5!  They had to drop a central line in my neck to put me out.    Just not something I look forward to, so I was a bit concerned.   Instead of  "you're running out of time", my battery could be good for a over a year.  Definitely made my day!    We came home and had breakfast and then I called my dentist because my partial had developed a situation where it was scratching my tongue in the last couple of months and I was concerned that following the biopsy if I had trouble I wouldn't know if it was from the surgery or the partial.   She adjusted it, told me the Oral Surgeon was a good one and then looked at "the thing" and said "Yes, it wouldn't hurt to get it out of there".   Actually made me feel good that she wasn't all hyper like my Periodontist about it.

So, three GOOD things, then I took Mike out to dinner at the Bonefish to thank him for all the prayers and support in the last couple of months.  Definitely not necessary from his perspective, but it was from mine!

Lou Ann, are you feeling better?   I'm so sorry you had to cancel the party.   You guys are going to be having Christmas in July!

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle.  Even when you aren't close, there's always some regret for what might have been if nothing else.   Maybe it's just as well that your mom can't go to the funeral.  That would be a long drive, round trip and maybe hard on her.  It wouldn't be fun to have her blood drop and be so far away from her Drs.

Your weather is nasty.  My friend in Omaha emailed this morning that they had an 18 below wind chill, and she has to go to PT every day so she can't stay inside all snug and warm like I can.

I LOVE the adorable tag you made for me!   I have her ~ and her matching border ~ all saved for Valentine's Day.  Thank you so much!   It's been so long since I've made anything in PSP I don't think I could anymore ~ other than just adding a name to a tube.   I'm so glad you are still feeling creative, and willing to share!

Have a Happy Day.

RE:WELCOME TO THE JANUARY 2014 CHECK-IN
(Date Posted:01/22/2014 10:36 PM)

Another uneventful day.  Too damn cold out, so it was good to
stay in.  Mom had to go to the doctor and then they had ARC Bingo
tonight so she was out again.  My nephew Jordan and friend Willie
stopped over and brought up the boxes for the Christmas stuff so
I know what I will be doing tomorrow, lol.  Plus I still need to go
have my INR done.  Probably should not put it off any longer lol.
We are right in line with you Dorothy, Jordan took down the out
side lights today while he was here.  But I still need to take down
the tree etc.  It will get done.
Dorothy, in December I joined an group for CDO sells artist tubes.
They have contests and tutorials shared.  It is fun, but a ton of mail.
But it is broadening my horizons.  Seems forum style tags are very
popular so have done a few tuts on those.  I like all styles, lol.  Am
still doing my plugin lessons too.  They were shut down for over a
month over the holidays.  I think I only have about 10 lessons left.  I really do not know how many there are, I should ask.  If you ever
want any of the tags that I did just ask, I will gladly make you one.
Have a great day tomorrow.
Hugs,

So, remember just the other day when it was 64 degrees?   Well, it's a bit different today ~~~ 7 degrees with a wind chill of minus 2, and it's snowing.  According to the Post, we already have 3.3 inches, which means that "they" will shovel.  Yay!   This is definitely gonna be a Hot Cocoa kind of day.   My friend Judy in Omaha said they are having a 30 below zero Wind Chill ~ and she has to go to PT today.   Doesn't sound like fun a'tall.

I've been reading and thoroughly enjoying the newest Susan Wittig Albert book, 'Widow's Tears'.   It's a Ghost Story involving the hurricane of 1900 in Galveston (which I didn't even know about).   She's taking a different tact with her last two books, using the same characters but showcasing different ones instead of the usual main character.   I didn't think I would like it, but i do.    Snow, Hot Cocoa, a warm fire and a Ghost Story.  It works for me!

smiley12
Lou Ann, I know you've really been having Wisconsin weather, so I dare not complain about ours.   Actually, as long as I don't have to go out in it, I have nothing to complain about.  Lovely to know someone else will take care of shoveling.  It's a bit worrisome when there isn't enough snow to activate the pro-team's shovels, but still enough that we should do something ourselves.  (Which we won't.  lol)   My other concern is when we HAVE to drive somewhere in the snow.  I'm not driving anymore (though I really should), so that means poor Mike has to.   He used to love to drive, but he never loved driving in snow and ice ~ just too aware of what could happen.  Now he's lost his love of driving, something I never thought would happen.  There are just too many people here and too much traffic and it isn't fun for him anymore.  Perhaps if we closed the borders . . .  (Oh, shame on you Dorothy!)

Have fun getting Christmas taken down and put away.

We made it through another week ~ well, almost!

Colorado's weather is completely schitzo ~~ which may explain our politics.    They shoveled the walks and driveways late in the morning and by early afternoon the pavement was dry.  Lots of snow left on the grass, though.  Today's temp?  53!  Lol.

RE:WELCOME TO THE JANUARY 2014 CHECK-IN
(Date Posted:01/24/2014 10:33 PM)

We are having issues with out server which I think are related to the

weather. Everything is dragging so much, things time out or quit.  I am

cleaning up my laptop in case that is the culprit but we are having issues

with iPads too, so more likely the server.  Moving my PSP files onto flash

drives.  It is a bit inconvenient when I am working to have to find things on

the drives, but if it makes things run better it is worth it.

It is horridly cold here and we keep getting more snow whenever it warms

up a trifle.  It does not look as if it will get better anytime soon.  I was

supposed to go this past Monday for INR and now it looks like we will have

dangerous temps through Tuesday so I will be really late, lol.

I have been doing a lot of creating so am going to share some of my tags.

As a part of a challenge I even made my own template and was told it

turned out very good.  I love the challenges.  Another was to make a tag

using your initials.  You had to use and artist that began with your first

name initial, a plugin that began with you middle name initial and a font

what began with your last name initial.  It was fun.  So I am going to share

then here and if there are any you would like just say the word :)

This is if I can load them, lol.

This is the one with my initials challenge

The artist is Hannah Lynn

The plugin was Alien Skin Xenofex 2

The font is Worstveld Sling Bold

I made one for you Dorothy.

Then there was the CDO Birthday Challenge

Here is the template challenge

First the template I made.

Then the tag I made with it.

And I made one for Dorothy :)

And here is one made by another member of the group using my template.

This is a Secret Sister Challenge.

This one is a forum set challenge, making forum style tag and avatar.

I think that is enough for today, lol.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO THE JANUARY 2014 CHECK-IN
(Date Posted:01/25/2014 10:05 AM)

Good Morning.

The weekend is here ~~ and for me that's not a whole lot different than the rest of the week except for what's on TV.  >tee hee<

Looks like it's going to be a lovely day with the temps soaring to near 60.  Then tomorrow it will start to snow, and it will be snowing and below freezing on Monday.  Can't say our weather is boring.   My only concern is that it snows enough for "Them" to shovel and that it's cleared and not snowing again by Wednesday when I go in for my biopsy.

Last night I finished Susan Wittig Albert's "Widow's Tears" which I really, really enjoyed.  It was basically a Ghost Story and I generally don't care that much for ghost stories.  This was different because of the historical background.  I was completely unaware that there was a hurricane in Galveston in 1900, and it was the deadliest hurricane in US history, leaving the city decimated and estimates of between 8,000 and 10,000 dead.  Hard to believe I was completely unaware of it, but that's what I love about reading mysteries.  In addition to spending time with characters I enjoy and solving mysteries, I always learn something.

Today I will start Laura Child's "Gilt Trip".   She has two series and I love them both.  One is set in a Tea shop in Charleston and the other in a Scrapbooking shop in New Orleans.   I love that she takes me places that I could never go even if I moved to New Orleans because I wouldn't move in her character's circles, and because now I'm to gimpy to explore the historical locations she transports me to.

My Real life is pretty dull, but my Virtual and Imaginary life is more than exciting enough.  lol    I've turned down two ~ count 'em two ~ invitations to be taken to the Arvada Center for Performing Arts (just blocks away from us) to see Agatha Christie's "The Mouse Trap" because I'm just not comfortable going.  Two of our neighbors are out of town and offered us their tickets, and last night Barb asked me to go with her as she has one extra ticket.  We used to love theater, but we haven't been to anything but restaurants in ages and I'm really uncomfortable attempting to go.  Not to mention that I really "haven't got a thing to wear" since I got so fat.  Another neighbor asked me to go to the Bingo game our neighborhood started, renting a room in the Methodist Church that is right next door to our little community, and I turned her down too.   I hope I'm not hurting people's feelings or making them mad  when they are being so good to me, but I really don't want to go anymore.   And so it goes ~ back to the books and TV and PC.

Lou Ann ~ Wheeee!  It's Christmas!   Thank you for all the absolutely lovely presents!   They are each and every one wonderful!   I love everything you make, but I most especially love the ones you make for ME!   I have them saved.

That would be a real pain to have to put all of your tubes and pics on flash drives and then try to remember what is where ~~ if I'm understanding you right.   Still, whatever works to let our systems actually run, and run fairly smoothly.   As it is, over the years I have filed all the tags and things to make them with in folders, but those folders have changed so I have a really bad time finding things now.   Earlier ones were often saved by the Group where it was made ~ most of those groups are long gone.   Then many were saved by the person who made it ~~ again not the best way to save a tag.   Some are saved by type (Patriotic, snow, "Me Please").  That works sometimes, and other times not so very well ~~~ and of course there could be 'Patriotic' tags filed under the old groups, or under individual's names OR just 'Patriotic'.   No wonder I can never find anything!  The idea of going through all of those years and years of images and reorganizing them is frightening ~~ and then I'm still not sure HOW I would reorganize them.   Moving them to flash drives ~ can you even imagine the mess I would have?  LOL  I'm guessing you are a WHOLE lot better organized than I am!  Good luck!

Have a Swell Saturday.

You know what the Happy Hermit will be doing.

My Wireless connection is not working.   I started trying to get on around 6:30 this morning and gave up sometime before noon.   Poor Mike has been working on it all day, and now we have someone from Xfinity coming out tomorrow to fix it (or to tell us it's our modem or something because he can't fix it).  Guy Mike "worked with" today could barely speak English.

When we can get on, the speed is 1.2 or something like that and pages take a week to load if they do at all. Painful!   I'll be back when we have service again.  :^(

Well, wasn't that fun?  (Answer:  No.)

It's really terrible on how dependent I have become on my Internet service.   By this morning I was pretty much ok to be without it, but yesterday it was HARD.   Guess I wouldn't make much of a Pioneer Woman.   The problem seems to have been in our Modem.  Maybe.  Mike had a spare and changed it out this morning and  our Wireless Internet was back.  Somehow, though, it has messed up the Big Screen TV.  The TVs in the bedroom and morning room work fine, but the big one pixelates.  He talked to two different local people who said they would send a stronger signal and it would take 15 or 20 minutes, but neither of them did.   So he's letting the repair guy come this afternoon.   Poor Mike, he's been working on this stuff for two days, and he's still trying to relieve my stress over the biopsy.  We need a relaxing day!   Marcela comes tomorrow, and you know how she wears us out watching her work ~ lol.   Then on Wednesday I go in for the Biopsy.

We woke up to snow and well below zero temperatures this morning, and it's still snowing.  I don't think we will have too much, but it looks nasty out there right now.  We were going to fix some hot chocolate and then realized we don't have any milk!  Guess we'll have to settle for tea.

Ah.  The Xfinity truck just pulled up.  Kid looks about 9 years old and his pants are hung low.  This kid is going to help MIKE?   Yeah.  Right.  lol

Ut-Oh.  Kid says it's the Modem.  We ended up putting in one of theirs (rent for $5).  I really don't trust them or believe them at all, but what can you do?  Everything is working fine and then suddenly it isn't, and they never admit to doing anything to cause the problem.  I don't mind the $5 monthly charge, but when THEIR modem goes, you have to have them send you a new one (you can't just go into the store and pick it up) and then send yours back for credit.  You are out of service for a couple of days in the best case.     The Xfinity Forum is full of comments like this.

It's still snowing.  Light but steady.  Wonder how much we'll end up with

Have a good evening.

The Thing   is out and in a jar of some kind of liquid ready to be sent to the pathologist.    I was there for just over an hour.   Having your tongue deadened hurts more than having your gums deadened.  Once dead, having someone pull your tongue way out and to the side hurt more than the surgery, which I really didn't feel.  NOW it hurts.  A LOT.  I really hadn’t expected that.   I have a big wad of gauze in my mouth and six or seven stitches in the tongue.   And it hurts.    I think I shall live ~~ but if the biopsy surprises us and comes back bad, I’m going to be more reluctant to have any further surgery!

Think I'm going to declare a Poor Baby Day or two ~~~ or as many as I can get by with.

I haven't been on Facebook yet to see whether Lou Ann is still in the hospital.  That's my next stop.

Hello my lovelies, I am home.  Not at 100%, but I will get there.  Got sick over the weekend and toyed with ER on Sunday but decided to wait and go to my Dr. Monday...only to be sent to the ER anyway, so I suppose I should have just gone, so now I have a Dr. appt and the ER to pay for, along with the hospital admission.  Already found out the Oxygen equipment will cost me $41.00 a month.  I do not need that!  There goes my spending money and with 3 baby showers looming ahead, that hurts.  I am so tired I am going to be in bed at midnight, which you know is not my way.  Just want to say that I will be late with the skin change.  I will do my best to complete the February page, but no problems.  I will have
a page category set up and we will be good to go.  I am sad to see no one
other than Dorothy and that I was not here for you Dorothy is your pre-biopsy days.  I am glad it is done now and pray you are pain free and worry free very quickly.  That's it for me tonight. See you tomorrow.
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO THE JANUARY 2014 CHECK-IN

We woke to about 4 inches of snow, and supposedly 3 more on they way this afternoon.  Still a whole lot better than the 10 - 15 inches they had been predicting.    Current temp is 18 degrees.  You KNOW we're going to be staying inside in front of a fire and with some hot cocoa or tea.

I slept well last night (hooray!) but I still was a wee bit ouchy so I took an aspirin and an Advil when I first got up.   I'm late getting here because my niece Mary Ann had Jack visiting and wanted some Facetime with me.   Do you do Facetime (iPad) or Skype or other face to face conversations?   I have to retrain myself every time we do this, and while I know I am no great beauty, I am absolutely, positively convinced I am not as ugly as I look when we Facetime!   Definite double bagger!

Jack was so adorable ~ he knew he was "on camera".   Her house is small, but the view from her window of the snow, the trees and the lake made me green with envy.    I also learned a LOT of family gossip!  Some good, some bad, some I dunno, but at least I'm back in the loop.

View from the front door.

View from the deck.

Lou Ann, I'm so glad you are back home and back here!  Please, please don't worry about changing the skin.  This one is beautiful, and when you feel like it, I know the next one will be too.  Let this be the LEAST of your worries!

I followed your posts of Facebook so I knew (sort of) what was going on, but it's not the same as really being able to talk to you one on one.

Do they have any idea what caused your breathing problems?   I hope the oxygen is short term and not forever.  It must be such a pain to be hooked up ~ not to mention the expense.  Still, if it lets you breath adequately and feel better, it's worth it all!

I'm taking another Poor Baby Day today.  I don't really need it, but what the heck?
