SEPTEMBER BIRTHSTONE

Sapphire
September birthstone, has been popular since the Middle Ages and, according to folklore, will protect your loved ones from envy and harm. Medieval clergy wore sapphires to symbolize heaven, while commoners thought the gem attracted heavenly blessings.

SEPTEMBER FULL MOON ON THE 27TH IS THE TRADITIONAL "HARVEST MOON" BECAUSE IT IS THE ONE CLOSEST TO THE AUTUMN EQUINOX.  IT'S NAME COMES FROM THE FACT THAT FARMERS AND INDIANS COULD HARVEST THEIR CROPS TILL LATE, BY MOONLIGHT, FOR A FEW NIGHTS AROUND THE HARVEST MOON.

PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE ON SEPT. 13TH.  CANNOT BE SEEN FROM THE USA.

TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE ON THE 27TH AND CAN BE SEEN FROM THE USA.
THAT IS THE NIGHT OF THE FULL MOON.

RE:WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER CHAT
(Date Posted:08/31/2015 10:04 PM)

I HAD A GOOD TIME WITH MY FRIENDS,
STARTED WITH NAN, LOUANN AND I WATCHING MR. SELFRIDGE
AND EATING A PEANUT SQUARE.  WE GOT ALL BUT THE LAST 45 MINUTES IN
BEFORE PEEPS SHOWED UP.
BRUCE WAS WORKING ON HIS PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO IN THE BASEMENT.
FIRST KIRSTIE CAME WITH LIAM.  I DO NOT LIKE TO HAVE FAVORITES,
BUT IF I DID, IT WOULD BE LIAM.  HE IS JUST A DOLL AND FRIENDLY AND
PLAYFUL AND HE CAN SAY MY NAME!!! LOL.  WHEN IT COMES TO THEIR
MOTHERS, NERISSA HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY FAVORITE.  BUT WHEN IT COMES
TO HER SON HE JUST WILL NOT WARM UP TO US...NAN AND I.  HE AVOIDS
US.  HE DID BLOW ME A KISS WHEN HE WAS TOLD TO, LOL.  HE IS ADORABLE.
HE IS SO MUCH BIGGER THAN LIAM EVEN THOUGH HE IS 3 MONTHS YOUNGER.
HE IS 3-4 INCHES TALLER AND BIGGER ALL AROUND.  BUT THEN MATT AND
NERISSA ARE BOTH BIGGER THAN KIRSTIE AND NICK SO I SUPPOSE IT IS
JUST GENETICS. WE ALL WENT TO PADDY'S, (THE GIRLS HUBBIES JOINED US
THERE) A PIZZA PLACE IN EDEN.
GREAT PIZZA.  I HAD A PESTO PIZZA.  INSTEAD OF TOMATO SAUCE IT HAD
PESTO AND THEN MOZZARELLA CHEESE, CHICKEN AND TOMATOES.  I GOT
THE THIN CRUST BECAUSE OF THAT PEANUT SQUARE.   THE PIZZA WAS
TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND I LOVED IT.  UNTIL I HAS A SLIVER OF BRUCE'S
HAND TOSSED SAUSAGE PIZZA.  OMG, TO DIE FOR.  THAT HAND TOSSED
CRUST WAS WONDERFUL.  I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT THEIR DEEP DISH
IS LIKE SINCE THE HAND TOSSED WAS ABOUT 2 INCHES THICK AT THE
EDGES THOUGH MUCH THINNER UNDERNEATH.  ALSO THEY HAD
WONDERFULLY PADDED CHAIRS ON WHEELS THAT WERE VERY COMFORTABLE
TO SIT IN.  THE BAD THING IS THAT WITH THE TIME TO THE RESTAURANT
AND THE TIME SPENT THERE, MY OXYGEN RAN OUT.  I DID NOT KNOW WE
WOULD BE GOING OUT OF TOWN TO EAT AND I DID NOT BRING ALONG MY
CAR PLUG IN. SO HAD NO OXYGEN ON THE WAY HOME.  WAS PRETTY
WHEEZY WHEN I GOT BACK TO FAUSKA'S.  KIRSTIE, NICK AND LIAM LEFT
FOR HOME FROM THE RESTAURANT BECAUSE LIAM WAS GETTING FUSSY.
YOU COULD SEE HE WAS TIRED.
RISSA STAYED FOR A WHILE, BUT SHE WAS DOING SOMETHING WITH BRUCE
SO WE WERE WATCHING SAMUEL WHILE WATCHING SELFRIDGE.  THE SAME
THING HAPPENED IN THE AFTERNOON, KIRSTIE WAS DOING SOMETHING
WITH BRUCE SO WE HAD TO WATCH LIAM WHILE WATCHING SELFRIDGE.  I
WAS TORN AS I WANTED TO ACTUALLY PLAY WITH HIM AND NOT WATCH TV.
BUT I THINK I MANAGED TO DO BOTH.
WHEN I GOT HOME I WAS HURTING.  I HAD LEFT OUR PLACE BEFORE 1 PM AND
DID NOT GET HOME TILL NEARLY 10 AND I WAS EXHAUSTED.  I WENT ON THE
COMPUTER TO COME HERE OR DO MY GAME...BUT DECIDED I HAD TO DO MY
EMAIL IN CASE ANYONE FROM IM OR CHROME HAD CONTACTED ME.  IM DID
AND JUST TOLD ME STUFF I HAD DONE BEFORE.  I WANTED TO KILL SOMEONE.
I HAD NOT GOTTEN UP TILL ALMOST 10:3OAM BUT WAS JUST FEELING THAT
I COULD NOT FUNCTION. SO I WAS IN BED BY 1AM, AND IT HAS BEEN 3 AM
FOR WEEKS.  I WOKE UP THIS MORNING AROUND 7:45 AND WAS GOING TO GET
UP, BUT FELL BACK ASLEEP.  I DID NOT GET UP TILL 9:30 SO I HAD AN EXCELLENT
SLEEP.  I SPENT TODAY GETTING THE PAGE READY TO GO AND MAKING GRAPHIC
ONLY TO REALIZE I COULD NOT POST IT.
WOW, MIKES BIRTHDAY LOOKED AND SOUNDED AWESOME.  MADE ME SALIVATE.
AND TO THINK IT IS NOT OVER YET, LOL.  WHAT ALL DID HE GET?
IS THE RED BAG FOR CARRYING HIS LAPTOP AND PAD AROUND??
OH, AND THAT NAUGHTY BUT BEAUTIFUL SHOGUN.  WHAT WILL WE DO WITH
THAT BOY? LOL
GOTTA GO.  STILL HAVE TO DO MY GAME AND EMAIL.  WISH ME LUCK.\
LOVE YOU SISTER OF MINE.
HUGS, LOU ANN

RE:WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER CHAT
(Date Posted:09/01/2015 9:14 AM)

Welcome to September.  We did get to The Keg last night, and then came home for a piece of Boston Cream Pie.  ;-)

I sent Mary Ann the second season of Miss Fisher's Murders to keep her company while she recovers, and it arrived yesterday and she texted to thank us.  I've hesitated to contact her not knowing how much she was resting and needed to.  She is staying mostly on the couch, sleeping, eating and taking pain pills.  The pain pills make her sick (as they do me), so she has to eat to have something on her stomach when she takes them, but she isn't hungry.   She said she has also gone for a couple of walks, which sounds like a good sign.  She sounds good considering how much pain she is probably in.  I'm happy.  ;-)

I can't believe you made a September page for us, with all the troubles you are having.  Thank you!   And it's My Day, too ~ lol    Please don't stress yourself about it.  You have more than enough to worry about.  What you've done is great.

So glad you had a really nice time with your friends and finished (almost finished??) watching Selfridge, and got some time to play with the babies, too.

Your Pizza sounds wonderful.  I like non traditional pizza and often opt for white sauce and chicken and artichokes.  The Pesto sounds delicious and so unusual.

That was a long day, and with travel time added it's no wonder you were hurting.  Sometimes it's worth it though, isn't it?

Yes, the red bag is for carrying his iPad and Laptop and whatever else.  He got me one just like it, in Purple, for my birthday and I love it, as he does this one.   It probably sounds silly to 'normal people' for us to want a laptop bag to carry our stuff from room to room, but we do and it works well for us.  It would have been great when we were still taking the driving trips to Iowa to see his folks, but it's pretty cool for us to tote all our stuff from room to room rather than having to run back or do without something.

He also got a couple of Tommy Bahama tee shirts and a couple of T.B. Polos and some BBQ Skewers and a keyboard for communicating with the TV ~ don't ask.  I don't understand.  LOL   I think he had a nice birthday.  Not spectacular, but nice.    I don't know what I'm going to come up with for next year ~~ the big 7-0.   In the past we took each other on trips and did some really special things for "Big" birthdays, but we really can't do those things anymore, and I can't imagine any toys he doesn't already have.  Gonna be a challenge.  lol

Shall I keep my fingers crossed for a Healing for your Laptop?  I will.

Have a happy day!

RE:WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER CHAT
(Date Posted:09/02/2015 10:43 AM)

Hello!

What a horrible night.  I slept for a short while and woke feeling like someone had karate chopped my neck!  Mother of Pain!  I laid there for a couple of hours not wanting to disturb Mike and then finally gave up and done what I should have done earlier ~ went to get Advil and Aspirin.  It took another hour to kick in so I could sleep.

The night before last we stopped at the meat market on our way home from the Keg and picked up 4 lbs of country style ribs ~ six beautiful ribs.   I marinated them overnight and then yesterday put them in the crockpot, covered them with BBQ sauce and turned the crockpot on.  What a heavenly smell!  I wish I could have bottled it to share with you all.  Better yet, I wish we could have had you to join us for dinner!  We added small ears of sweet corn and cole slaw ~ and finished off with the last piece of Boston Cream Pie last night.

Exciting news (to me anyway).  Ben Carson is tied with Trump, and CNN is going to let Carly Fiorina take part in the next Debate.  There was a letter sent from a whole bunch of Republicans I didn't recognize, along with a petition from the Little People, and CNN and the RNC decided their current policy was wrong.  This could be a good debate!

I'm sorry to tell you that your friend Walker is dropping in the Polls.  I know how disappointing that must be for you.  (Snicker, guffaw. lol)

Ah, one Scream is worth a couple of thousand words!   I can feel your pain ~ and I'm so sorry you are having to endure it!

Have a good day anyway, dear friend.

RE:WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER CHAT
(Date Posted:09/02/2015 5:03 PM)

I AM FRUSTRATED BEYOND BELIEF.  I AM GETTING NO WHERE AND MORE AND MORE I AM THINKING IT MAY BE MY COMPUTER CAUSING THE ISSUES.  AM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING TAKING MY COMPUTER BACK TO 2013 AND TAKING THE LOSS OF WHATEVER AND HAVING TO UPDATE EVERYTHING.  BUT SO FAR, NONE OF THE SYSTEM RESTORES HAVE COMPLETED. IF THEY DO NOT COME UP WITH SOMETHING THIS WEEK, THEN I AM GOING TO DO IT.  LAST NIGHT I WORKED LONG AND HARD AT GETTING A BORDER AND TAGS SHARED WITH YOU AND HAD WRITTEN SOME OF MY NOTE AND IT JUST WENT POOF.  THE BROWSER JUST SHUT DOWN.  I WAS SO ANGRY I WANTED TO SCREAM SO THAT IS WHAT I DID, LOL I DID GET THE PAGE UP (THOUGH NONE OF THE USUAL PICTURES ACCOMPANYING IT. BEFORE WRITING MY NOTE SO THAT WAS GOOD.

MIKES BIRTHDAY LOOKED AWESOME.  THE FOOD AND THAT BOSTON CREME PIE...I HAVE NEVER HAD THAT AND IT LOOKS WONDERFUL.  WHAT TO DO FOR HIS 70TH??  HAVE YOU CONSIDERED AN iWATCH?  SINCE HE IS SUCH A GADGET MAN. JUST
A THOUGHT.

I FEEL FOR YOUR PAIN AND WISH IT HAD NOT TAKEN SO LONG TO GO AWAY.  I AM LIKE YOU AND GIVE IT TIME TO GO AWAY ON IT'S OWN AND THEN WHEN IT IS TOO LATE FOR IT TO BE HANDLED EASILY, THEN I TAKE A MED AND IT TAKES FOREVER FOR IT TO HELP.  GLAD YOU WERE ABLE TO GET BACK TO SLEEP EVENTUALLY.

OMG, THOSE RIBS SOUND WONDERFUL.  WHAT KIND OF BBQ SAUCE DID YOU USE?  DO YOU MAKE YOUR OWN?  MOM WENT THROUGH A KICK A COUPLE YEARS AGO WHEN SHE MADE THEM ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH AND EVEN MADE THEM FOR CAROL AND GLORIA ONCE.  WHEN I SAID SOMETHING ABOUT RIBS SHE SAID SHE DID NOT KNOW HOW TO MAKE THEM AND WHEN I SAID SHE USED TO SHE SAID SHE HAS NEVER MADE THEM...NO SENSE TELLING HER DIFFERENTLY AS SHE WILL JUST GET ANGRY WITH ME....LET IT GO, LET IT GO....JUST CALL ME ELSA.

I AM SURE THAT YOUR GIFT TO MARY ANN WILL MAKE HER RECOVERY MORE ENJOYABLE.  YES, WE WERE ABLE TO FINISH MR. SELFRIDGE AND WERE DEVASTATED WITH THE ENDING...AND NOW WE WAIT TILL FEB? BEFORE IT RETURNS.  I DO LIKE THE BINGE WATCHING THOUGH AS YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT.  WE KNOW IT ALL ENDS BADLY FOR HIM AND I WISH IT WOULD NOT...I LIKE HIM. EVEN THOUGH HE WAS A TERRIBLE WOMANIZER AND HAD AN EGO BEYOND COMPARE, LOL.

THE BABIES ARE GROWING SO FAST AND I HAVE TO ADMIT THAT LIAM...KIRSTIE'S SON IS MY FAVORITE.  WHERE RISSA WAS MY FAV I THOUGHT HER SON WOULD BE TOO BUT THAT JUST SHOWS YOU THAT YOU NEVER KNOW.  LIAM IS MORE FRIENDLY TO ME AND PLAYS WITH ME...SAMUEL WILL NOT.  SAMUEL IS 3 MONTHS YOUNGER BUT ABOUT 3 INCHES TALLER THAN LIAM AND MUCH BIGGER A BUILD.  BUT RISSA AND MATT ARE BUILT BIGGER THAN KIRSTIE AND NICK ARE.  GOING TO SEE IF I CAN INSERT A PIC HERE THAT BRUCE JUST DID, IT IS WONDERFUL.  HE IS GOING FULL SPEED AHEAD WITH HIS PHOTO STUDIO IN HIS BASEMENT.  ISN'T THIS PICTURE WONDERFUL!!

I READ IN THE PAPER THAT BEN CARSON AND CARLY FIORINA WERE LEADING IN IOWA AN I WAS JUST ECSTATIC.  YOU NEVER KNOW...THIS MIGHT END UP BEING THE 2ND TIME I VOTE REPUBLICAN.
I NEED TO FIND A WAY TO GET PICS OVER TO THIS COMPUTER SO I CAN SHARE THE TAGS I HAVE MADE.  I AM GOING TO LEAVE THE SKIN FOR NOW SINCE IT DOES NOT LIST THE MONTH.
LOVE YOU SISTER OF MINE.  THANKS FOR BARING WITH ME.....OR IS IT BEARING WITH ME, LOL.

RE:WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER CHAT
(Date Posted:09/03/2015 6:22 AM)

Good Morning,

Looks to be a bit cooler today ~ only the low 80s.  Lovely.  It's been so hot our Dahlias are beginning to look 'done for', but I'm sure it's too soon for that.  Yesterday I soaked them good, and I hope that perks them up.

I LOVE my new Back To School tag ~ and border!   Have them both saved, and I think I'll use them the day after Labor Day, when Corrina's (in the other group) son goes back to school.  Kids here have been back in school since mid-August.  That's WAY too early!

I can only imagine your frustration ~ and I am awed by the way you have hung in there.  I'm pretty sure that by now I would have chucked my Laptop out the window!    I hope you have all of your files backed up to your backup drive ~ I know you are really good about doing that.   I've been so lax, it's a good reminder to me to get on the stick with that.

Having to reinstall a ton of things is a serious pain, but maybe not as bad as what you have been going through.  As long as you CAN get everything back.  I really don't save all that much besides the lovely things you make for me and the things I get at BAMA these days, so if I'd done a decent job of backing up my pictures and files ~~~ well, no.  When ever I get a new Laptop, it still takes WEEKS to get back up to where I was, and I never really do.  I lose things every time.  I've told you that I can no longer use most of the filters that I had for 100 years.  I thought I had lost or messed them up with each PC change, but now I'm pretty sure it's the change in Operating systems, and I just don't seem to have the steam or the interest to try to get everything back anymore.  So, I just let everyone else make pretty things for me.  ;-)

ANYway, I hope if you do have to roll way back, you don't lose so awfully much.  What a nightmare!

You asked about the BBQ sauce I use for the ribs. I use Cookies. We couldn't get it here for a long time and used to bring it back with us when we visited Mike's folks in Iowa.  Now it's here.  It's rather sweet and we like it.  We also sometimes use Sweet Baby Ray's.  Anyway, no, I don't make my own.

The first time I made Ribs, our annnieM had just made them and talked about it, and I pumped her for details.  My Aunt Jean used to make wonderful ribs, but I remember it being a sort of big deal so I was intimidated.  If I'd had a clue how easy it was, I'd have made them a lot sooner ~ lol.  She (annnieM) made Country Style ribs but Mike had to get Baby Back Ribs because they were 'better'.  You know our Mike ~ lol.  They were good, but the next time I made them I insisted he get the Country Style, and we both really love them.  They are a lot more meat than bone. One rib is too much for me to eat ~ though I make a noble effort.  Ha.  The marinade I use is the same as I use on BBQ Brisket ~~ I just sprinkle on Celery seed (or powder), onion powder and Garlic salt, then add Worsteshire Sauce and Liquid smoke and leave them overnight in the fridge.  I saw some recipes on Pintrest where they added the BBQ sauce right away and so I did that this time, but in the future I will go back to only adding it for the last hour or two.

Well, that was prob'ly way more than you wanted to know ~~~ LOL.

LOVE the picture of the babies!  It's absolutely wonderful.  He is so talented ~ and those are seriously cute babies, too!

I know it's WAY early to get too excited about the election, but I do find myself getting encouraged.  I think the Conservative pool has some really good people.  Kinda hard to keep calling them the 'Party of Old White Men', when the field includes a woman, a black, and East Indian, 2 Hispanics and a bunch of not too old White Guys.  I think the Democrat field is a fair bit less diverse.  Ha!    Kind of fun now, but I fear we are going to be SO burned out by the time the election rolls around.  I just hope we don't throw out the good candidates and go for ~~~ well, you know.  LOL

Have a Happy Day!

RE:WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER CHAT
(Date Posted:09/03/2015 6:53 PM)

I HAVE MY IM BACK , ALL OF IT.  IT TURNED OUT NOT TO BE THE IM
AT ALL, BUT THE COMPUTER.  I DOWNLOADED AND UPDATED DRIVERS AND THAT DID THE TRICK.  A NEW TECH GUY IS WORKING WITH ME ON CHROME AND HE TOO THINKS IT IS NOT CHROME BUT SOMETHING ON MY COMPUTER INTERFERING WITH CHROME.  BUT I DO NOT REMEMBER DOWNLOADING ANYTHING AT THAT TIME. SO TRYING TO PICK IT APART LITTLE BY LITTLE.
OH MY FRIEND, YOU ARE SO WRONG.  I AM AWFUL ABOUT BACKING UP MY COMPUTER REGULARLY.  IT HAS BITTEN ME IN THE BUT MORE THAN ONCE IN THE PAST.  FF IS ALSO WORKING BETTER NOW.  SO I AM HAPPY.  WILL KEEP TRYING BUT GUESS I COULD LIVE WITH FIRE FOX IF I HAVE TO.  WE WILL SEE.  BEEN WORKING ON CLEANING UP MY IM AND PC TO CLEAR UP MORE SPACE.  THE TECH SAYS I DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH.
I CAN GET TAGS HERE VIA PHOTOBUCKET...BUT I CANNOT COPY AND PASTE BORDERS.  THE ONLY THING I CAN DO IS MAKE THEM IN TAGBOT AND THEN USE HTML TO GET THEM IN HERE...I CAN BRING TAGS THAT WAY TOO, BUT THAT IS A PAIN IN THE BUT.
THINGS ARE HOT AND HUMID HERE AND SUPPOSED TO STAY THAT WAY THROUGH THE HOLIDAY WITH RAIN COMING ON MONDAY.  OUR TOMATOES ARE COMING FAST AND FURIOUS NOW.  I DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY GALLONS WE HAVE FROZEN.  WE HAVE ALSO FROZEN VEGGIE  SOUP AND HAVE A LOT OF THAT TOO.  WE WILL CERTAINLY BE SET FOR THIS WINTER.
HOW ARE YOUR DAHLIA'S DOING?  DID THEY SPREAD OUT NICELY, OR NOT SO MUCH?  DO YOU THINK YOU WILL GO WITH THEM AGAIN NEXT YEAR OR GO WITH SOMETHING NEW?  HAVE YOUR BOOMERANGS BLOOMED AGAIN?  OR HAD THEY ALREADY...I AM CONFUSED, LOL.
WE USE SWEET BABY RAY'S TOO.  RIGHT NOW WE HAVE A BOTTLE OF SWEET VIDALIA ONION. THOUGH I WOULD LIKE SOMETHING A LITTLE SMOKIER IN FLAVOR.  I COULD REALLY GO FOR SOME.  WE ARE EATING TOMATOES FOR LUNCH AND SUPPER EVERYDAY.  SUZ IS ALSO BRINGING US HER EXTRAS.  SOME OF THEM HAVE BEEN AS BIG AS A CANTALOUPE. MANY THE SIZE OF 2 GRAPEFRUIT GROWN TOGETHER.
THE GOOD THING IF WALKER WAS TO GET THE REPUBLICAN NOMINATION AND MAKE PRESIDENT WOULD BE THAT WISCONSIN WOULD BE RID OF HIM.  BUT THEN THE COUNTRY WOULD SUFFER.  WORSE CASE SCENARIO WOULD BE WALKER GETTING THE REPUBLICAN NOMINATION AND THEN TRUMP GOING INDEPENDENT AND HAVING BOTH THE FOOLS IN THE DRIVERS SEAT.  SCARY ISN'T IT?  WELL, AM GOING TO GO WORK ON SOME CHALLENGES.
THIS CHALLENGE WAS FOR THE ANNIVERSARY OF HAWAII'S STATEHOOD.
HUGS,

Without the rain, there can be no rainbow ~

And a cheery Good Morning to you!   We just had a short rain yesterday evening, but when I came back into the Man Cave, there was the most beautiful rainbow, ending just ahead of Denver.  I took this picture with my new iPad Mini!

I was a total bum again yesterday.  I may have to actually do something one of these days.  Maybe.  lol

ALOHA!   How lovely!  Thank you!   How nice to be able to post tags again, eh?  Are you liking Firefox?   I don't remember why I didn't.

Where did you find these wonderful Tech Guys that are spending so much time with you?  I'm impressed!

I never use Photobucket except for making borders or skins.  I always hated to have to save a tag to my PC and then save it to Photobucket also to be able to use it.   Whatever it takes, though!

I'm so mad at myself that I didn't take any good pictures of the Dahlias.  I took some when I first planted the four small plants in the 18 inch pots, but they really did fill in the entire pot!   I took a few pics from on the deck, but that wasn't the angle that showed how lush and full they were, and I didn't walk down to the sidewalk to take some from that angle.  I know you understand, but still I should have made the effort to walk down there and snap a few pics.   Yes, I think we will definitely do the Dahlias again next year.  I've always planted Petunias and loved them, but this really was easier and looked good.

The Bloomerangs did re-bloom, but not strongly.  We had snow so late and then baking heat, and I think that may have stunted them.  We'll see what happens next year.  Our Mock Orange bush is lush and full, and hasn't given us a single blossom!

Things can change in ways I could never have even guessed, much less predicted, but I will be very surprised if Walker gets the nomination now.  He really was a contender before the first debate, if the news reports and polls were accurate, but now he's not.   I'm still shocked about Trump, but maybe I shouldn't be.  Those of us who have been so unhappy, and even horrified by the direction our country has taken under Obama were ecstatic about the Republicans retaking the Senate and Harry Reid being deposed. The media kept talking about the "Do Nothing" Republicans, but the truth was that there were literally hundreds of bills put forth by the Republicans that Horrible Harry didn't allow to come up for a vote, protecting Obama from having to Veto anything he didn't like. Again, half the country not being represented.  Finally, with the last election, we thought, we'll see some changes.  Well, not so's you'd notice.  Mitch McConnell and John Boehner are almost as horrible as Horrible Harry and Nasty Nancy.  The large bald spots on my head are from pulling my hair out in frustration.   Then along comes The Donald.  LOL.   While I can't see him as The President any more than you can, I can see him striking a cord with frustrated Republicans who are sick to death of business as usual and so called Leaders not even mentioning the various Sacred Cows like Illegal Immigration.   I do believe that this, too, shall pass ~~ but I won't put a large wager on it.  (laugh)

I'm still surprised by Carson and Fiorina doing so well.  I'm sure the RNC would prefer to have an establishment Republican ~ Democrat Lite ~ but perhaps they should think about how well that has worked for them in the past.  (snort)

Enuf!  Have a lovely day!

RE:WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER CHAT
(Date Posted:09/04/2015 8:35 PM)

I can now get borders and get my tags via the mail.  WooHoo.  I am getting used to FF again.  It freezes during my game and I think that may be why I switched, I really do not remember very well.  Pretty sure that was why.  So if I cannot get Chrome back I could live with it.  He is talking about restoring my computer back to the starting point and I am not at all sure I am prepared for that.  I will be extremely sad over the loss of my many bookmarks....hundreds of them, lol.  The tech guys are from a google help site.  It is forum style.  The early ones were with Chrome but the guy helping me now is just a computer geek and seems more knowledgeable and listens a lot better.  He answers my questions when I ask them.  I have a suggestion waiting for me know, but I plan on trying it tomorrow as I just cannot think today.

For some reason I have been falling asleep constantly today and getting nothing done.  Makes me so mad as I should have paid bills today.  I slept from 1:30ish to 9:30ish, so I slept well.  Maybe too well.  Hoping for a better day tomorrow.  I do not want to hear are you sleeping again?  I told her to not let me sleep.

I am glad that the Dahlia's worked so well for filling in the pots. Have they survived the heat?  If so, next time you go out to eat, have Mike pull up in front of the house and snap a pic for you iPad mini!  That will work, lol.
Beautiful rainbow...I never ever get tired of seeing them.

I can see the allure of Trump, he would be a breath of fresh air, but he is such an egomaniac that I cannot see him as President.  Though the idea of someone less diplomatic and not so concerned about being Politically Correct has it's appeal.  And not letting other countries dictate to us would be a big plus.  I just do not want to have to look at that comb over all the time, lol.  Oh well, time will tell.  Walker will have a hard time of it.  He has fallen in the Wisconsin polls too as far as being governor.  People do not like all his time away.  When do the elections for party choice happen?

Hugs,

Good Morning!

I seem to be off to a lazy morning.  Got my shower but I've just been going through email and reading Facebook posts since.   I do have some laundry to fold, and I'm also going to make my potato salad and baked beans for tomorrow's and Monday's Labor Day burgers on the grill.

What plans do you have for the Labor Day weekend?

Look at you!  Borders and a lovely new tag for ME!   Thank you ~ and it's nice to see you back!  I'm just sorry you have to jump through so many hoops to get there, but look at all you've learned.

I'm still waking up too early, but I do snooze when we are supposed to be watching TV in bed in the later evening, so I suspect it all works out.  I feel ok, except for still having that Karate Chop in my neck.  It will NOT go and stay away.  Could be a virus, I guess, or maybe I am favoring my left side because of the surgery.   I know the new defibrillator is supposed to be smaller than the last one, but I swear it feels a whole lot bigger.  I know I'll adjust, but soon, please.

LOL ~ I agree.  We might be able to adjust to the Trump personality, but that comb over?   I don't think so!  LOL

Do you think Biden will get in?  He really doesn't look like he has the heart for it.  Losing his son has really hurt him, and the rest of the family.   Maybe knowing his son wanted him to run will give him the heart.

I'm so encouraged by Carson and Fiorina's rise in the polls, but I know it's so early I won't count on them being in for the finish.  I really like several others, too, so I can remain hopeful.  ;-)

Thanks again for the darling new tag.   Have a delicious day!

I AM UP AND RUNNING AGAIN...MY CHROME IS WORKING,

MY IM IS WORKING, TIME TO PARTY!!!

A RANDOM PERSON COMMENTED ABOUT COMPATIBILITY AND EVEN THOUGH I KNEW I HAD TRIED IT BEFORE I THOUGHT I WOULD DO IT AGAIN. SO FIRST I USED A UNINSTALLER THAT CHECKS ALL FILES AFTER DELETION AND ELIMINATES ANY THAT ARE STILL THERE. THEN I DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED CHROME, MAKING SURE IT WAS ONE FOR W7. THEN I WENT TO COMPATIBILITY AND RAN IT ON RECOMMENDED SETTINGS AND THAT DID NOTHING, SO I WENT TO THE NEXT STEP AND YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM. THE PROBLEM IS THE LIST DOES NOT GO ANY HIGHER THAT VISTA.  LAST TIME I DID IT I CHOSE "I DO NOT KNOW"I THINKING IT WOULD CHECK TO SEE BUT THAT DID NOT WORK SO THIS TIME I CHOSE VISTA SINCE IT WAS THE NEWEST AND IT WAS LISTED FOR THIS VERSION OF CHROME.  OMG, IT WORKED!!  I AM SO HAPPY.  I DO NOT KNOW HOW SETTINGS GOT CHANGED, THOUGH MAYBE SOMETHING I DOWNLOADED CHANGED THEM  I DO NOT KNOW.  I DO KNOW THAT TOMORROW I WILL BE BACKING UP MY COMPUTER.

I THINK THE DONALD WILL EVENTUALLY START LOSING GROUND.  AFTER A WHILE I THINK AMERICA WILL BE SICK OF LISTENING TO HIM.  I WANT TO SEE US TOUGHER ON IMMIGRATION.  MUCH TOUGHER.  TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE GETTING A FREE RIDE IN THIS COUNTRY AND I WISH THEY COULD FIND WAYS TO BETTER MANAGE ALL AVENUES OF PEOPLE CHEATING THE SYSTEM.  I KNOW OF PEOPLE ON DISABILITY THAT SHOULD NOT BE, BUT THEY USED A LAWYER TO GET IN.  I ACTUALLY WORKED WITH A WOMAN AS A CNA...SHE DID THE JOB FINE BUT GOT ON DISABILITY BECAUSE OF ARTHRITIS.  THE WOMAN HAD NO ISSUES I COULD SEE.  IT MAKES NO SENSE. ILLEGAL ALIENS DRAIN OUR COUNTRY AND SO MANY PEOPLE ARE ON MEDICAID WHO DO NOT NEED TO BE AND I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE CHEAT THAT SYSTEM TOO.  I AM TIRED OF CHEATERS, LIARS AND ILLEGALS TEARING DOWN OUR COUNTRY. I DO BELIEVE IN LETTING PEOPLE COME TO AMERICA TO LIVE...BUT DO IT LEGALLY AND PAY TAXES AND YOUR OWN WAY.  I ALSO BELIEVE IN DISABILITY AND MEDICAID FOR THOSE THAT NEED IT, BUT I WISH THERE WAS A WAY TO MORE CLOSELY MONITOR IT.  BUT THE PROGRAMS AND PEOPLE THAT DO THIS ARE ALWAYS BEING CUT BACK, ELIMINATED AND UNDERPAID SO A LOT OF STUFF SLIPS THROUGH THE CRACKS....CRACKS DID I SAY???  CHASMS....GRAND CANYONS...LOL.

I HAVE LOTS OF TAGS WAITING FOR YOU. I MAY HAVE TO GIVE YOU MORE THAN ONE A DAY TO CATCH UP. WE WILL SEE. NOW I CAN FOCUS ON CLEANING UP MY IM AND MY COMPUTER TO GET IT RUNNING BETTER.  SEE WHAT ELSE I CAN MOVE TO FLASH DRIVES. NOW I HAVE A NEW ISSUE TO LOOK INTO.  BOTH MOM AND I CANNOT GET OUT IPADS TO CHARGE. GOTTA DO SOME RESEARCH.  HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY WEEKEND.

HUGS,

RE:WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER CHAT

Another quiet day, heading for the mid 80s.  Ahhh.

HOORAY!   YOU'RE BACK!   Absolutely amazing after all you have tried and how much you have done, that it was one of the first things you tried, but with a little tweak.  It is funny that it wants you to be compatible with Vista, which you don't have, but whatever it takes!    I am SO happy for you, and so happy for me, too!  I felt your frustration and couldn't do a thing to help.  YAY!!!

I could have written what you wrote ~ I so completely agree with everything you said!   Disability, welfare, food stamps ~ all of those things should be available for those who really need and deserve them, but when they are given to those who jump the line to illegally get into our country, or when they are given to citizens who are drug addicts or alcoholics for LIFE because they have no intention of trying to give up their addictions and get a job, they take the help from those who really need and deserve it, and it makes me furious.  There has always been fraud, but now we have more people on some kind of aid than not, and that's just insane!

You are becoming a professional Tech with all you have learned and are learning.  I would come to you for help when I need it instead of Mike ~~ but he will just do it for me, and you would tell me how to do it myself.  Of course, if he ever leaves me for a long legged brunette, I'm toast!  LOL

I'm SO happy for you!   And I love my new tag, too.  Thank you!

Have a grand day.

Love ya.

Dorothy

RE:WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER CHAT

I am such a happy camper and feel so much more relaxed.  It is a joy to be enjoying my computer again.  I have found that many things I do not know how to do I can find walk through instructions on the internet and You Tube.
I finally got to read yesterday and today and finished Connie Shelton's latest book.  It was good.  It almost got exciting, lol.  I do enjoy them, especially the Samantha Sweet ones, which this one was.
No plans for Labor Day...it is supposed to rain here.
There is a parade and a big picnic at the park that I always used to participate in since I was leader in my labor union.  I was part of SEIU....Service Employees International Union.  Used to sell tickets to the big Labor Day Raffle and go to the park to catch the winners being announced and listen to music.  Not any more, not for a long time.  No grilling either.  Neither of us think that using the indoor grill is anywhere near the same as grilling outside.  Oh
well.  Mom is going to make a beef roast in the slow cooker, with potatoes and carrots.  Does not seem the appropriate meal for Labor Day, but we both love it so....oops, she has changed her mind and is making a pork loin for tomorrow.  I wonder how I would cook that on the grill?  Google time, lol.
I really do not think Biden's heart is in running for President and doing it because his son wanted him too
is not a good reason...he has to want to do it and feel he has something to offer the US.  I think we need someone a bit more dramatic.
LOL, I did the quiz on ISideWith.com and it tells you
which candidates you match the most answers with. I got Bernie Sanders 74%, Hillary Clinton 73%...Mike Huckabee and Donald Trump made it into my 50%tile.  Lord help me, Walker made it in the 40% tile.  Ben Carson was down in the 30%tile.  A little surprised that my top 3 were Republicans, but of the 10 they showed (I did not look further) the last 7 were all Republicans.
Well, I have some challenges to meet, lol.
Hugs,

HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Yes, we are back ~ more or less.  If you tried to come in earlier you got "Web page not found", no matter which server you tried.    I can't add tubes or icons, and the ones that are on the pages aren't showing up for me now, but at least our page is here, and we can say Hello!

I am watching The Secret, streaming on Netflix, as we speak.  I've read the book, but I don't walk the walk ~ lol.  The movie re-enforces and encourages.  Worth watching, I think, for those who can get it ~~ if you are in the mood for a little Self Help.   I'm going to have Mike watch this with me later, when he is in the mood, because all of the things I want for myself involve him, so he needs to come along on this journey with me. ;-)
Simply put, it's the Law of Attraction.  What you think about is what you attract, whether positive or negative.  I "hear" scriptures when I read or hear the message of the Secret ~~ Ask and Receive, Believe and Receive, As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he, and on and on.

I folded laundry and brought in a few things from the Garge, but otherwise a very low key day, and I'm enjoying it.

Sending you love and joy and abundance overflowing, because you are so very dear to me.

~ Dorothy
