RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT
(Date Posted:10/18/2016 8:41 AM)

Good Morning

Temperatures dropping a bit today, only supposed to be 65.  Seems more appropriate for October 18th.

Yesterday was a bit rough since I'd had so little sleep.  It was a good thing I got up and going anyway because the TV guy called and asked if he could come a couple of hours earlier.  He was here for two hours, and now we have the TV in the Great room attached to the wall with a "reticulating arm".    I was in the Morning Room with Shogun and Mike called and asked me to come and look at it and see if I thought it was ok.   Now you know that when your husband asks you to come and look at something to see if it's ok ~ it isn't.  It wasn't.   The TV is smaller from top to bottom than the opening, and the boys decided to center it in the space.  Seems like a good idea EXCEPT, that it left a large space on top (ok) and on bottom (not ok).  First, Shogun would have loved getting under and behind the TV, and second the outlet plugs showed from the front ~ UGLY!  Luckily the guy is a sweetie and didn't make me feel like a meanie when I said that doesn't work.   Of course Mike knew it didn't, and so did the kid, they  just wanted ME to say it.  Men!   Now it is lower than it was originally because it is no longer on a stand, but it's pushed more forward and really looks ok.

Now Mike wants to put one in our bedroom!   I don't think we need it, but he is so good to me it's hard for me to say no to him ~~ except regarding a Bengal kitten.  lol

And so it goes.

Hello

It's finally Fall here ~ for at least one day.  We are supposed to reach a 'high' of 56 degrees!   Of course you know what that means ~~~ a hearty dinner at the Czech Restaurant tonight.

It's getting a bit spooky in here, all alone as Halloween approaches.   I hope everything is well with you.

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT
(Date Posted:10/19/2016 11:42 PM)

I am sorry I missed 2 days in a row.  I did not even realize I had.  I thought I wrote that my computer shut down on my again 2 nights ago. No, come to think of it, when it shut itself off, I got mad and left it off.  Yesterday of course my mom tried to balance her check book and kept getting madder and madder and them almost into tears.  I usually tell her I will look at it the next day when my eyes are fresh.  But I felt so bad for her I took it to look at,  I got upset because she marked some as checks as being back that were not ans her addition on her calculator was often wrong and she threw it away.  She will not admit hitting a wrong number.  It got to be quite late and I finally gave up and said I would have to write out it all new tomorrow, which was today and I forgot all about it.  Today I worked on getting things ready for Chris to clean tomorrow. But I seemed to get little to nothing gone. Tonight I have a killer headache.  So tomorrow I hope to get my shower before Chris starts and the ladies are coming tomorrow night and we will celebrate my birthday.  It really is to much in one day and I will more than likely not make it in here to chat.

I really had to laugh that you knew already when Mike called you that things were not ok.  And the fact that both of them knew it, just kills me since they went ahead and did it anyway.  Why could Mike not say, oh oh, this is not looking good we need to do it different.  Or why not just ask you do start with, you could have nipped it in the bud.

Is Mike still wanting a Bengal cat?  If you thought Shogun was naughty, try a Bengal and it will make Shogun look like an angel straight from heaven. lol  They are large cats too!  It could really wreak havoc on your home.  I think Mike's been smoking some wacky tobaccy!!  snort...

We have left our lovely warmer weather and headed into the colder weather too.  I suppose that was our little Indian Summer, lol.  I guess we will not be sitting out on the porch without our coats to pass out candy on Halloween this year.  I ordered all my candy on Amazon.  I compared it to several Stores and still found my best buys there.

I had better go to be early, tomorrow is going to be a very long day.

XOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT
(Date Posted:10/20/2016 8:46 AM)

Morning.

Oh BOY is it cold!   Currently 32 degrees ~ FREEZING ~ but heading for maybe 62 later.  Great sleeping, but Brrrrrr when you get up, or in my case "prop up" in bed.

I did get a bit more done yesterday than I have been, some laundry folded, some more Halloween "spinner" cards made and such.  Mike ordered some washers for me to use making the Spinner cards, and he ordered the wrong size, so we reordered and hopefully the right sized ones will get here today so I can finish the cards.  That's the definite disadvantage of shopping online vs shopping in the brick and mortar stores!

Since it was a cold and very windy day, we did go to the Golden Europe (Czech Restaurant) for dinner last night.  I always order the Svickova, but last night's special was Schnitzel in a creamy dill sauce.  Our waiter (owner's son) gave us a little bowl of the gravy and we both loved it, so that's what I ordered!  It was excellent, served with spatzle and red cabbage.   Mike changed from his standard German Dinner to a Svickova Schnitzel and he loved that too.  We both brought home half of our meals for dinner tonight.  :-D

We decided at least temporarily not to install the TV "arm" in the bedroom, but Lief (the TV guy) had left his sunglasses and tape measure when he was here before so he is coming this morning to pick them up, and he will bring a machine to calibrate the TV for maximum effect.  So, Shogun and I will lock ourselves in the Morning room later this morning and work on cards.

I also have to do my blood test again this morning (every two weeks).  I think I should be able to do it right this time ~~ fingers crossed.

Shauna comes tomorrow morning.

All is forgiven (smile ~ as if it needs to be).  There are definitely days when I would like to just leave my Laptop parked in a corner, and you have a lot on your plate.    I still haven't done our Budget Book and the month is almost over.  I just dread to think how bad it will be, so I am really empathetic with your work on your mom's checkbook.

Mike keeps going on one of two Bengal sites, and of course they present these gorgeous little beasts as so loving and sweet and bright ~~ and I'm sure they are.  Also intelligent (meaning easily bored), inventive (no explanation necessary) and determined to drive ME up the wall.  LOL

I envy you being able to hand out candy on Halloween.  Obviously I could if I sat out on the porch all night, but that is NOT going to happen.  Ha.  I do miss seeing the little ghosties and goblins, but (and this is hard to believe), I didn't even decorate this year.   I just seem to have too much to do and too much trouble getting it done.  I think the translation or explanation is that I am so slow it's like I'm running in reverse.   Ha.

I hope Chris comes more or less on time and does a great job for you.   Did the basement get cleaned well enough for her to do laundry?

Have fun at your Birthday Party!!

Good Morning

Yesterday started off ok, but deteriorated as the day went on, then last night I got even less sleep than I had the night before.  Shauna is coming this morning, and I am not looking forward to today.  Maybe it will be better than I think.

It's 40 right now, but heading for 77 supposedly.  Quite a change.  Our weather is insane!   Still no rain either.

I screwed my blood test up again and had to do it with my old meter.  That will be the last time I can do that because I'm out of strips.   It was also too high again (3.4) for some reason.   If I'd gotten that number with my new machine I wouldn't trust it, but I do trust my old one.  I'm sure we will be changing my dosage when the nurse calls me, probably today.

I hope you all have a great day!

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT

I AM HAVING A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH POSTING.  TONIGHT IT IS DEFINITELY AIMOO'S FAULT.  TERRIBLE TIME GETTING A BORDER AND EVERYTHING TIMES OUT  THINGS ARE SO VERY SLOW AND THAT DRIVES ME ABSOLUTELY CRAZY

THE LADIES CAME LAST NIGHT AND WE ATE RIGHT AWAY AND WERE STUFFED.  SO WE SAVED THE CAKE FOR LATER  THEN I OPENED GIFTS,  FROM CAROL I GOT RIDICULOUS PLASTIC EARRINGS THAT ARE GLITTERY GOLD AND WERE HEART SHAPED AND SAID LOVE THE HEART IS ABOUT 1.5-2IN.  I HATED THEM BUT PUT THEM ON.  I COULD NOT WEAR THEM MORE THAN A FEW MIN AND MY EARS STARTED ITCHING SO I REMOVED THEM.  SHE TOLD ME THEY WERE GOLD AND THAT I AM WORTH MORE THAN GOLD TO HER.  SHE ALWAYS WRITES THAT IN OUR CARDS AND EMAILS.  I CERTAINLY HOPE I MEAN MORE TO HER THAN THOSE CHEAP EARRINGS.  LOL, I KNOW IT WAS A MESSAGE AND I SHOULD NOT MAKE FUN OF THEM  IN THE CARD WAS A WALMART GIFT CARD,  THEY HAD ASKED FOR A LIST OF THINGS I WANTED AND AT THE END I HAD ADDED THE FOOD ONES, LOL.  I SAID CARAMEL CORN, GUMMI ANYTHING AND CHOCOLATE!  SO SHE GAVE ME 6 DIFFERENT KINDS OF CARAMEL CORN, ONE WAS PACKER AND IT HAD GREEN APPLE, YELLOW CHEDDAR AND REGULAR CARAMEL CORN.  THERE IS EVEN TURTLE CORN WHICH IS  VANILLA CORN AND PECANS DRIZZLED WITH CHOCOLATE. WE HAVE NOT OPENED THAT ONE YET.  THIS IS FROM A COMPANY RIGHT HERE IN FOND DU LAC CALLED FARIS GOURMET POPCORN.

         http://www.farispopcorn.com/

YOU CAN CHECK THEM OUT IF YOU WANT.  SHE ALSO GAVE ME CHOCOLATES...THE MERCI MIXED BOX AND THE CHOCOLATES WERE EXCELLENT.  I SHARED WITH MY MOM,  WE ALL TRIED 3 OF THE POPCORNS BUT DID NOT OPEN MORE THAN THAT AS DO NOT WANT THEM TO GET STALE.  ALSO A LITTLE LIGHT UP GHOST WITH BOO ON IT AND THE LIGHT CHANGES COLORS. SO ALL IN ALL IT WAS A WONDERFUL GIFT.

FROM GLORIA I GOT AN AMAZON GIFT CARD.  THEN A PLUSHIE CHICKEN WITH A 60 BUTTON ON IT AND UNDER THAT EMBROIDERED ON THE CHICKEN IT SAYS "YOU'RE NO SPRING CHICKEN" AND ON THE CARD ATTACHED TO IT, IT SAYS

"LET'S JUST FACE IT,

YOU'RE NO SPRING CHICKEN,

YOUR OLD  BODY HAS

TAKEN QUITE A LICKEN',

BUT CHEER UP AND

PARTY 'CAUSE WE'RE

STILL BY YOUR SIDE,

AND A REAL CHICKEN

YOUR ARE WOULD GET

PLUCKED AND FRIED!"

WE LAUGHED SO HARD.  THE SILLY CHICKEN HAS SPRING LEGS TO SO ALONG WITH THE NO SPRING CHICKEN.  SHE ADMITTED GETTING IT AT GOODWILL.  THAT DOES NOT BOTHER ME AT ALL.  AFTER THEY LEFT I CHECKED IT OUT BETTER AS I HAD FELT A BOX IN IT'S BUTT.  SURE ENOUGH THE BUTT HAD VELCRO BUT THE BOX NEEDS BUTTON BATTERIES SO I WILL ORDER THEM ON AMAZON AND SEE WHAT IT DOES OR SAYS  THE BATTERIES IN IT WERE A BIT CORRODED BUT THE INSIDE LOOKS FINE, SO IT IS WORTH TRYING.  THERE WERE ALSO TWO CAT MUGS..A GREY TIGER AND A TUXEDO AND THEIR TALES MADE THE HANDLES.  THEY ARE CUTE AND I AM SURE THEY CAME FROM GOODWILL TOO.  YOU CAN GET SO MANY GOOD DEALS THERE AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN THERE.  NOR HAVE I BEEN TO ST VINCENT DE PAUL SINCE THEY MOVED INTO A MUCH BIGGER PLACE (FORMER SITE OF A HUGE GROCERY STORE)  WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL WE WENT THERE A LOT AS WE FOUND SUCH WONDERFUL ITEMS THERE.  ESPECIALLY FOR CREATIVE COSTUMES  NOW THEY HAVE LOT'S OF FURNITURE AND ANTIQUES.  I WANT TO GO TO BOTH.  MAYBE THAT COULD BE MY BIRTHDAY PRESENT FROM SUZANNE. SHE CAN GET ME A CARAMEL APPLE AND TAKE ME TO THESE TWO STORES  AND MAYBE A WALK THROUGH THE MALL.  I HAVE NOT IDEA WHAT STORES ARE THERE.  SHE PROBABLY WOULD RATHER HAVE SOMETHING SHE COULD BUY AND BE DONE WITH, LOL.

WHILE I WAS TYPING THIS WE WATCHED JASON'S GAME ON TV.  THEY ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS NOW AND THEY PLAYED MILWAUKEE-WASHINGTON.  IT WAS SO FUN AND  A COMPLETE SLAUGHTER.  IN THE FIRST 30 SECONDS THEY GOT THEIR FIRST TOUCHDOWN AND WITHIN THE FIRST MINUTE AND A HALF THEY GOT THEIR 2ND.  AFTER THE FIRST QUARTER THEY WERE SO FAR AHEAD THE GAME WAS CHANGED FROM 15 MIN QUARTERS TO 8 MIN QUARTERS.  THE FINAL SCORE WAS 53-0.  WOO HOO, IT WAS FUN TO WATCH.  THE OTHER TEAM STARTED OUT BY BEING LATE AND GETTING THERE JUST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE GAME WAS TO START  THEY HELD THE START SO THAT THEY COULD GET A LITTLE PRACTICE IN.BUT THEY WERE DOOMED FROM THE START.  I HAVE A FEW PICS OF JASON TO SHARE WITH YOU.

THEY ARE HAVING A GOOD YEAR..

WELL, IT IS TIME TO GO TO GET ON TO THE NEXT TASK.

I HOPE YOU WERE NOT TOO EXHAUSTED BY SHAUNA BEING THERE AND THAT YOU GOT A CHANCE TO NAP IN THERE.  MY DR SUGGESTED I TRY THE HERB VALERIAN.  I AM GOING TO GET SOME AND TRY IT.  i WILL LET YOU KNOW IF IT WORKS FOR ME.

XOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT
(Date Posted:10/22/2016 3:08 PM)

Hellooooooooo.

Here am I, and do I have a good excuse for being late?   Not really, unless laziness counts.   I did play on the net until the house warmed up and then I put my overdue color in my hair.   Then after my shower I came out to the great room and Mike made breakfast.  So there I was, hair colored, hot showered, belly full of food and coffee, and Mike put an old Halloween movie on.  What could I do?   I fell asleep!  LOL

So, here I am.  Yesterday I finished my cards and wrapping the Sesame Street Halloween books for my little ones, and we will get them in the mail on Monday.  I also finished the other Halloween-Birthday  card I wanted to make so it's ready to send.   I'd still like to make a couple more just to have on hand, and just because I have all the "stuff" still out.    Then I want to start making some cards for November birthdays.  I have some ideas and my October Paper Pumpkin came with some great possibilities.  The question is, can I do it without frustrating myself?  This is SUPPOSED to be FUN!

Last night we watched the movie made from Bill O'Reilly's book "Killing Regan", and really enjoyed it.  It's about the assassination attempt, and the time frame around it, focusing on both the Regans and Hinkley.   Tim Mattheson played Regan and Cynthia Nixon played Nancy.  He was wonderful ~ even looked like Regan and had all the movements and gestures and even the voice down.    As I watched there was almost a Mantra playing in my mind, over and over ~~"Lord, I miss Ronald Regan"!   It ended with the letter he wrote to his friends, family and all of us 13 years later saying that he was beginning a new journey, that he had alzheimers.  Tears streaming.  Lord, I DO miss Ronald Regan, so positive, hopeful, strong and full of love for his country and it's people.   We'll never see the like of him again.

I haven't read any of O'Reilly's "Killing" books or particularly wanted to, but we saw interviews with Mattheson and Nixon and knew we had to watch.  I also want to read the new book "Killing the Rising Sun" because apparently there is so much that I don't know about that time, and I thought I knew it all.  I suspect it may be upsetting, so I wall wait until after the Election.  I can't take much more 'upset' right now.

I did get a good night's sleep, finally!  Thank goodness ~ one more day on 2 or 3 hours and I'd be likely to go completely nutz, instead of just partially.  ha.

Now we have Johnny Depp's "Sleepy Hallow" on.  Lord is that a BAD movie!  Ha!

I'm glad Carol gave you some yummy things to go with the "lovely" earrings.   As you described them I thought "What could she be thinking?"  lol   Definitely don't sound like you a'tall.  Everything else sounded grand.   Gloria's gifts sounded fun, too!

OhMyGosh, what a route by Jason's team!   I'm surprised they didn't make them 'redistribute' some of their points to the other team.  LOL     Way to go, Jason!!

What great pictures!  Who took them ~~~ our Professional??   They are gorgeous!

Have a great day.

Hello.

Looks like it will be cooler here today, a bit.  High of 72 ~ but then back up tomorrow.  It's actually pretty nice.   I won't complain.

I got very little done again yesterday except my hair color ~ surprise, surprise.  I did get some little book marks made to go with the kid's Sesame Street Halloween books.   Note to self:  Don't make anything on orange card stock that you plan to stamp and  color.  lol   Still, kinda cute, I think.  Mike made an appointment for the Post Office to pick the boxes up when they deliver our mail tomorrow, and we paid online, so that's basically done.

I really hope I can get some time to work on cards today and tomorrow, but Mike wants to go out this afternoon and Sue wants to come over, and I am so slow you would think I'm running in reverse.  If I can't get my November birthday cards done, how on earth do I think I'm going to hand make all of my Christmas cards?!   I must be even insan-er than I thought.  ;-)

Have a happy one!

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT
(Date Posted:10/23/2016 11:24 PM)

Sorry for missing a night. I do not know what is with me lately Seems I am always off in another world. I was not aware that I had missed but now that I think on it, I spent very little time on the computer last night. I spent time blowing out my cooler tray and cleaning the fan. It was so dusty. And then the t computer shut down again. I had to buy a new adapter for the computer and for some reason the connection at the computer is loose and when it falls out enough the connection is lost since there is no battery with this computer. So I found some electrical tape...really old, lol, and replaced the scotch tape that was no longer working. So I think it will hold now. So it was late when I went on. Sorry. I really did think I have been in

I had kind of wanted to see Killing Reagan but it did not interest mom of course. I too voted for Reagan because Nan was from California and she told us about all he had done for them then and was so sad that he ended up leaving this world with Alzheimer's.  I think it is one of the most degrading, humiliating and cruel diseases out there. So hard for the one who has it as the beginning when they are going in and out of it and are aware it is happening. And so horrible for the family when the person no longer knows who they are. That is part of why I think The Notebook is one of the most romantic movies out there. I worked the Alzheimer's Unit for many years. It is difficult to work. So sad when you see families stop coming because they no longer know you or they are no longer talking or there is no spark left in the eyes. So difficult and so sad.

Carol always seems throw in something stupid...but this one topped them. The more I try to get rid of junk the more people give it to me. I am going to pass the 60 chicken on to Louann next month on her 60th, then she can pass it to Gary in Mar and he can pass it to Bruce in Apr. Bruce will have to wait 4 years to pass it on to Steve. I suppose Bruce will get rid of it at the Christmas While Elephant next year unless he holds it for Steve. If he does, Steve can pass it on or use the while elephant to get rid of it too.

Good luck in getting all of your cards done. I had a whole bunch of Digital stamps by Mollu Harrison and I cannot find them and I wanted to use them for my thank you cards. I hope I did not lose them.

XOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT
(Date Posted:10/24/2016 11:19 AM)

Good Morning

Welcome to a brand new week.  Two more weeks to go before the election.   Normally I would be in the "I can't wait" mode because I really can't wait for this nightmare to be over, but in this case, I fear what is beyond the election even more.

One more week until it's Halloween.  In the past, that has been a big deal for me too, but now I haven't even decorated.  The Post Office should pick up our packages for the kids this morning, so they will get to them early and I hope help increase their anticipation of my second favorite holiday.   Mike is going to make his traditional Chili, even though we won't be handing out treats.  Yum.

We've decided to fill out our ballots and vote tomorrow, or at least mail our ballots in.   I can check on line later to be sure they have been received.   We could easily have already voted for the people we will vote for (or against), but several ballot issues have been more difficult.  There is a 'Right to die' issue, for example.  I have always thought I supported Physician Assisted Suicide for people who were terminally ill without hope to recover, and suffering.   We treat our pets better than we do ourselves.   Now, faced with the arguments against it, it hasn't been so clear to me.  I would trust Mike to do the right thing for me without a moment's hesitation, and though it would be the hardest thing in the world, I could do the right thing for him, too, if he were in a hopeless situation.  What about if we didn't have each other, and were at the mercy of others we have no reason to trust?  What about all those who find themselves in that situation.
There are a couple of other ballot issues that initially seem like a clear choice, until you really start to think about possible misuses.

I do understand not getting in to post every day.  As much as I want to visit with my friends, there are days when I just want to avoid my LapTop all together.  So far I haven't but . . . '^)

It really sounds like you need a new PC.

I didn't realize you worked with Alzheimer's patients.  I agree ~ hard to think of a worse disease.  It's nightmarish, both for the patient and for the people who love him or her.  Please spare us that!

I love your idea of passing the Chicken on ~~ and on and on.  LOL  Fun!!

I had some mixed luck with the cards I made yesterday.  They were shaker cards from the new Paper Pumpkin kit.  for some reason the raised glue strips (for want of some better way to describe them) didn't stick as well as I thought they should have, and I think I'm going to reglue them with a stronger glue today, unless they got better overnight.   Aside from that, I kinda like the cards I made.   One was "by the book" ~ the way Paper Pumpkin presented it to be made, and the other was my variation, and I liked both.   Instead of just stamping them, I embossed the sentiments (Happy Birthday) in gold.  This was only my second time of using the embossing tools, the first time using my own, and I was nervous, but it went perfectly.  I have four birthdays in November, so I may use this basic card for all of them, and just make a few personal changes.
Clearly I have lost what's left of my mind to think I can hand make all of my Christmas cards at this late date, though.  LOL  Ah, well.

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT
(Date Posted:10/24/2016 9:34 PM)

This will be quick as I am heading to bed, I am exhausted.  To bed at 3:30 am and up at 8 am.  10 am Pulmonary Function Test and 11 am follow up with Dr. Hatahet,  He was so pleased with me.  He had the results of my PFT and he had written on it all over.  My results showed no changes since 2.5 yrs ago.  A few tenths of a difference but nothing to speak of. He said people with COPD never do this.  He said I will not need any more CT scans unless something comes up and I will not need another PFT for 3-4 more years.  I can now see him yearly instead of every 6 months.  But we will do it in summer so that I am not out and about during flu season.  This just made me so happy, I cannot tell you.  Especially if I have to start seeing these other doctors.  Denise (NP) wants me to FU with the Gastro I have seen in the past and possibly have a colonoscopy.  But my insurance called me the other day and asked me if they could send me the test for colorectal cancer testing and I said yes  I just have to get a bowel sample in the kit they send and send it back to them. So maybe that will get me out of the colonoscopy.  I hope. I really should go to a Dermatologist for why I am always breaking out in hives.  I also have some questionable growths...though maybe I would rather not know.  But a cousin of mine is going through Chemo for skin cancer and that scares me.
We did our voting some time ago.  We did not have any questions or issues to vote on. This has been the worst election I can ever remember.  I am just at a loss at the fact the Trump was able to secure the Republican nomination.  I was watching one of those Sunday morning political discussion groups and they said that is Trump did not win that he would probably start his own political party due to Repub. being part of the cause of his losing. He is already saying the voting is rigged if he does not win.  He states that the Emmies are rigged because his show The Apprentice did not win.  I do not think any of this will end with the elections.
You got started late in the year with card making.  So maybe plan on making your Christmas Cards for next year and maybe just make a few for this year.  All in good time.  Well, I have to go. Chat tomorrow.

Hugs,

Hi

Another mostly sleepless night ~ this is really getting old.  My body seems to think that falling asleep watching TV is good and being wide awake when the lights are off is better.  Grumble

Heading for the low 70s with only a slight chance of rain today, and I have a haircut this afternoon.  It's only been 5 weeks, but I really need a cut!  Basically, I've been happy with my new 'do', so I'm optimistic that I have found my new Sharyl.

Mike wants to do some grocery shopping after my cut.  He is going to make his traditional Halloween chili ~ yay!

Sue came over yesterday afternoon to pick up her Misti and borrow a couple of dies and stamp sets.  Nice to be able to share.  We talked for a couple of hours, and after she left I remembered all sorts of things I had wanted to tell her.  We start talking and then someone mentions another subject and we veer off onto that, and they off in an entirely different direction.  LOL

I did get caught up on a lot of the neighborhood gossip.  The downside of being a Hermit is that you miss out on all the gossip, and there is always a lot going on.  lol

Wow ~ your news is so good!   I'm so happy for you!   I'm also a bit surprised, because you seem to have been having some breathing issues ~ but this really is good!

It would also be great if you could just take the home test instead of the Colonoscopy!  I will cross my fingers for you.   I can't do that cuz I'm on blood thinners.  Darn.

Ah, the election.  You probably have avoided the WikiLeaks and Project Veritas reports, but it appears that the Democrats gave a lot of help in selecting Trump as the Republican candidate, because he would be the easiest to beat. Remember how he got so much free press that the other candidates didn't get during the primaries?

Dirty tricks abound.  I've seen the video of the Clinton campaign talking about sending their operatives in to Trump gatherings to cause the fights that broke out, and many other things.   Now the little tidbit about Terry McCauliffe bribing ~~ er, uh ~~ donating a rather huge amount to the wife of the FBI official who was investigating Hillary.

It's hard to imagine two more seriously flawed candidates.

I hope you did get a good night's sleep.  ;-)

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT

I remembered that it is Hump Day, but decided it was more important to use Halloween tags and borders, since it's fast approaching that magical day.

Happy Hump Day anyway!

We're headed for the mid-70s today, and again with no rain predicted.

It got really tired out yesterday, with my accumulation of not-much-sleep nights.  I did get a good haircut I think.  She puts a lot of goo in, so I haven't really done it myself.  It was nice, though, to just get up this morning and brush my hair and have it look "done"!

We voted yesterday morning ~ well, filled out our ballots and mailed them in.  I will check online tomorrow to be sure they were received.   Then on to my haircut.

I took my new hairdresser one of the little Halloween Test Tubes full of M&Ms that I made for the gals at my card party, and she took it and said "Oh, Stampin Up!".   She recognized it because once a month she attends an open-to-the-public Stampin Up meeting in the basement of I think she said the Arvada Court House!   Apparently there are several demonstrators that hold the meetings and you pay $30 and make about 10 cards, with everything furnished.   That might be something some of my neighbors ~ and I ~ might enjoy sometime.  She took my email to give to the person who holds it, so hopefully they will contact me.   I honestly can't imagine making that many cards in only 3 or 4 hours, even with everything cut out for you.  I'm guessing they are more simple designs, but even so .....   Might be good for me to churn things out faster.

After my haircut, we went to the grocery store where Mike shopped for the fixins for his "Halloween Chili" and I supervised the parking Lot.

Now I need to request your prayers.   Mike is going in for some dental surgery tomorrow morning.  He believes in the power of our prayers and I know it will make it feel better to know that you are praying for everything to go well, and for it to heal quickly  and completely with little pain.  I'd appreciate your adding a prayer for him to be able to sleep tonight.  We both stress terribly over anything medical so sleep is often effected.

We have some soup and 'soft' things in for dinner tomorrow and maybe the next day, so he will get his poor baby day at home ~ and then maybe another one later when it will be more fun.  ;-)

Is there an echo in here?  ;-)

Looks like another bright, bright sunshiney day, heading to the low 80s.   I remember Halloweens where there was so much snow.  This year, the kids may not even need jackets.
The sidewalks are thickly covered with crunchy leaves.  I remember walking on crunchy leaves on Halloween and they still conjure up those delicious memories for me.   I suppose before Monday the lawn folks will remove them, but it would be nice if they waited a little while until after Halloween because there are still some trees with their leaves attached.

I think I won't be trying the Stampin Up party my hairdresser was telling me about in November.   Dena, across the street, booked a party with Kathy following my party for Sunday the 13th, and now Sue and Roxy are going to a card class at the Scrapbook Shack where Sue took me a month or so ago, and they asked me to go with them.  I think two card making classes in mid November will be quite enough ~ lol    I still hope to make at least SOME of my own Christmas cards as well.   This card making business has almost become funny!   I still want to go to the one Laurie told me about, because I can't even imagine making 10 cards in a single morning.  ;-)

Mike is at the top, center and bottom of our agenda today.  Thank you again for your prayers for him, if you saw my request.

I am so sorry that I have not been here. I have been so tired to the point that it is hard to function. Maybe I should be like you and come here first thing in the morning instead of in the evening. Time just gets away from me until I feel helpless and shut down, not to mention this stupid computer shutting down all the time.I do not know what is wrong with me. Both Denise and Dr, Hatahet listened to my chest and I was clear. 3 min later I can be hacking up crap. But I think some of these issues have to do with my swallowing problems and we will probably look at those issues this Spring.

Are you saying that you cannot have a colonoscopy because of being on blood thinners? I am too, and I could never take that stuff to clean you out and make it to the toilet in time. I remember my mom messing herself over and over. I would rather have the cat scan any day. Then if they see something I suppose they would still have to do the colonoscopy.  But I am wonding if you would still have to do the cleaning of the bowel before the cat scan, otherwise wouldn't they just see the colon packed with crap.

I did see the request for prayers and they were said.  You and Mike are always in my prayers, but always ready to say extra when needed. I hope all went well.

I think if you are up for it, you should go to the party where you make 10 cards.  You might pick up some quick and easy methods that you can use in your card making. Or learn some short cuts that makes things easier.  Anything that you can learn that is new is always a plus. If you go to all 3 you should have a lot to choose from. I love hearing about what you learn and seeing pictures of what you make.

Tuesday I did not make it in because I had to get two tags made by midnight. The friend who was keeping me updated with my CDO Diamond Club forgot to send them to me until I commented to her on Sunday. I assumed it was our passweek, but turned out it wasn't. The I had to write her again on Monday because the challenges were based on the MOTW's likes and she did not send me that list. She offered to write CDO an tell them it was her fault that I was late but I said no, I would get them done in time. Then of course there was nothing but issues. Thank goodness CDO is on California time. It was about 1:3O when I got the tags sent in.

I wish the both of us could get out sleep issues straightened out. I go to bed late, usually 3 or later. I get up 10 ish and them sleep away the day. I cannot stop it. I have to actually be doing something to stay awake. Playing on laptop or iPad or watching TV does not,

So glad that you have found someone to do your hair that you like. Mine is getting so long and I just keep putting it in a pony tail. I will get it cut this coming Spring and leave it long for the winter. My hair is so thin on top that I really do not think there is enough left for bangs so she will leave them long, but I can do nothing with them. Wigs are too hot, but eventually I will have to go that way. I do not have a pretty head to go bald, lol.  I need hair!!

I need to do email now.

Hugs,
