RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT
(Date Posted:10/10/2016 7:58 AM)

Good Morning ~~

We're heading for a high of 69 degrees today, with a good chance of seeing some rain.

I did get my blood test done with my new machine ~~ more or less.  I had watched the video before, so I read the instruction booklet and thought I knew what to do, but I was stressed. (lol)   So I went into the bathroom and pricked my finger and was delighted to see a healthy drop form, then I proceeded to put it on the wrong place on the test strip.  Way to go, Dorothy!  I guess my mind went to my old strips which were quite different.   Needless to say, it didn't "take".   I re-read the booklet and saw my mistake, and since the strip hadn't really been used, I re-stuck myself, got another nice drop and put it in the right place.   Somewhere in the instructions, it said that you only have so many minutes to use the strip once it's been accessed, and I have a suspicion that I exceeded that time and my test was incorrect, but of course I'm not sure.   Results are supposed to be between 2 and 3, and it was 3.5.

I had my old machine right there, and it's accuracy had been verified with the lab twice, so I took another test using it.  The results were different ~ a lovely 2.8.    I'm not sure what that means, but I decided to take yet another test with the new machine, in case I had caused the original test results to be wrong by re-using the strip.   After three tests with an ample amount of blood, now I couldn't get enough blood out of a new finger to test ~~ and I tried with two fingers!  The well was dry! I decided to stop and wait to see what the nurse who calls me thinks.   Sheesh!    I do know what I did wrong and how to do it right the next time, and I'm inclined to think the test results with the new machine were incorrect this time.  Fortunately, I do have the results from the old machine.

Well, I'm sure that's way more than you wanted to have to wade through ~ lol.

Moving on ~~ We opted not to watch the debate last night.  I don't deal well with three against one with the Liberal Moderators AND Hillary taking on Trump.  I hate unfairness.  We did record it in case we later wanted to zip through it, and watched the new Gourmet Detective movie on Hallmark instead.   Now I'm watching the news tell me what I missed.  It sounds like it was something to watch.

Not a lot on today's agenda.   I need to make a card for a friend who's birthday is on Saturday, and I would like to make some more, but I have nothing in mind at this point.

I'm glad you are back and able to post.   Was that Joanne or Diane that you visited with?  Sounds like a nice afternoon, but I know that sitting for several hours in the "wrong" chair can cause real pain for you.   I did sleep better last night, until about 5AM.  I can handle that.  I hope you got more sleep too.

No, I don't think Barb HAS a relax mode.  So many of my neighbors don't.  They have to be doing something every minute.  They must look at me and shake their heads ~~~ as I do looking at them.  LOL

What BEAUTIFUL pictures!   I have several of Lily ~ and her big brother Vince, and a few of Jack.  I need to shrink them so I can share them with you.   Of course they are not taken by a professional photographer like Bruce ~ he does such wonderful work ~ but you will like them anyway, I think.     Olivia's pictures could (and should) be in a magazine!   Just lovely.

Thank you for the beautiful tag!

You asked about the Misti that Sue loaned me.   Here is a Youtube of it.

Time for me to get my clothes on and go for a nice cuppa.   Have a great day!

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT
(Date Posted:10/11/2016 8:40 AM)

Good Morning.

I have gotten absolutely nothing done for the last two days. I've actually tried, but I just seem to sit and stare without a clear idea in my head.

Nothing on the agenda for today except accompanying Mike to the grocery store to pick up a few things.  I don't have high hopes for accomplishing more to day than I have the last few days, but ya never know.

I do think I will be ok with the new blood testing machine.  I just got stressed and my brain flew out the window, or down the toilet or someplace.  I don't know what is wrong with me lately, but it darned well better stop BEING wrong. With me.  Ha!   I called in my results and talked to the nurse at my Cardiologists office yesterday, and explained that I thought the higher number was my fault, and that I had taken the test with my old machine and my numbers were in range.  We'll make no change in my dosage, and she even said that with others the 3.5 number wasn't considered out of range.  That must be something new, but I'm apparently good either way.  I take the test every two weeks, and I'll do it right the next time.

Hope you got everything done that you wanted to.

Good Morning.

Today might actually seem like a Fall or even "Halloweeny" Day here.  We are supposed to stay in the mid to high 50s!  Then tomorrow, we pop right back up to warm again.

The leaves on the neighborhood trees are finally turning some rather pretty colors.  I thought they were just going to go brown and die, but there are some bright reds and yellows out there.  Not the most spectacular color I've seen, but pretty.

Tonight we are taking Next Door Barb out to dinner to celebrate her 65th birthday.  I told you it was a new restaurant, but I didn't tell you the name.  The Butchery!

Have a better day!

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT
(Date Posted:10/12/2016 8:45 PM)

I am so glad that you are feeling comfortable with your new meter and know you will do it right next time.  We all hate change.  I really hate it.  I was so happy that my number was good this time.  I have going often, it's a pain.

I have not seen any of the debates and I really wanted to. Louann Tevo'd them for me, but do not know when I will get over there.  Mom and I already mailed in out absentee ballots, but still I would like to hear what they each had to say. I should check with Louann to see If any time works for them.

It was Diane that we visited.  She is the one that teaches at the high school. Though she is missing the whole first semester due to the new ankle surgery.  It has been really hard on her.  She is one who is on the go all the time and rarely home.  Now she has been sitting on her but since sometime in August and has a ways to go yet.  She may be back to school in Dec. I think.  They will see.

I was highly disappointed in the 'Misti'.   I do not know why, but I somehow thought it was some miracle machine that you could use on any stamp.  I did not realize that it would have to be used on stamps made for it, so to me, it really limits it's usage.  The multiple stamping to darken a stamp is wonderful.  But I really did not care for the stamps used for the video.  So, it is cool, but has limitations.

Sounds as if your neighborhood will be quite pretty.  I wish I could ride on the back of a motorcycle.  Brent loves to go for rides on weekends and the last weekend he went on the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive.  That is where I love going.  He said trees had turned though not nearly all of them. Still it is a really beautiful drive.  He said it is one of his favorite local drives.  I admire that he just goes off and drives all weekend.  He keeps telling me hi wants to get a camera that you attach to your helmet so he can share what he sees.

Well, with a name like The Butchery, it has to be good.  I hope it is excellent so that you all had a wonderful time. And that Barb relaxes for at least and hour or two.  That is you mission if you choose to accept it, lol.

Last night I was all done with the post and was just proofreading to see if I missed anything and I saw that Misti link and thought, ooh, I need to check that out and clicked on it without thinking and poof it was all gone.  How stupid can I be?

So, tonight I have typed my note in my incredimail and I will copy it into my new border and pray all goes well.  Wish me luck.  If you see this, I succeeded.  If you do not, well then it will not matter at all, will it?

This tag was a Halloween Challenge and we could not use orange or green.  I searched through all my CDO tubes and all the Halloween ones had orange or pink in them  but then I remembered that PUT- PinUp  Toons allows you to colorize his tubes, so I can change orange to another color.  So then I went in search of a Halloween kit that was not done in orange and green and found one that used pink, purple and black.  So I changed my pumpking to pink and we were in business.  I would wish that she had a little more clothes on it, but that I am not allowed to do, lol.
XOXOXO

Believe it or not, I did just lose this post and I had already closed the border down.  I had to make the border again but only had to copy the post back into the border.  Now I am trying to find the tags, lol.

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT
(Date Posted:10/13/2016 10:22 AM)

Trick or treat!   I'll take the treats.  You can do the tricks.  ;-)

Yesterday it was deliciously overcast and cool all day.  We stayed in the (Great Room?  Man Cave?  Living Room?) in the back of the house all morning, and I played on the Net and snoozed while Mike had old Halloween movies on.   It was lovely.  ;-)

Then I moved to the Morning Room and actually put three cards basically together ~ my first "assembly line".  I only made most of  the background of the three fronts.  I could have finished but I want to stamp and hand color one more piece for the front, and then stamp the inside, so that remains to be done.  I may be getting the hang of this.

Our dinner at The Butchery last night was good, perhaps not quite great, but the food was good, the  atmosphere was pleasant and the conversation was great.  A good time was had by all.

Barb has so many friends I wasn't at all sure we would be able to take her out to celebrate her big birthday, but as it turns out, she kept it very low key and I think we were the only ones to actually "celebrate" with her.   She also loved the card I made for her, which made me feel great.  I had been concerned that everything would stay 'stuck' and nothing would fall off, and it didn't and she was I think really impressed and touched.  She didn't even notice the things I had forgotten to do, and maybe anyone who wasn't a card maker would, but it made me feel much better.  She even displayed it in the middle of the cards she received.

We took our trash out after we got back from dinner last night, and this morning Barb has already brought the can back up to the garage for us.   How many folks do you know who have a Surgeon hauling their garbage?   LOL

She is leaving for CA on Friday, where she will be the featured speaker at a Christian convention.  They are covering all of her expenses, travel, meals, room, etc, and then she will stay an extra four days to spend with her cousin in SF.  It sounds like a nice change for her.

Oooh, I have to tell you about our new TV!  I didn't see it (thank goodness), but when Mike came into the room yesterday or the day before, it was tipped back in the alcove where it lives!  It pretty much filles the alcove side to side, but there is maybe a foot or a bit more on top and the base that holds it is smaller than the old one.  The only explanation is that Shogun tried to jump on top of it (which is about an inch wide, but you can't tell that from the floor where he is).  We're guessing he tried to jump on top, knocked it backwards, scared himself and he got down!   It's a miracle he didn't smash the TV in the process!    Now we have an appointment on Monday for the guy who installed it to install an "articulating arm" to attach to the wall behind the tv and hold the TV from toppling.   SIGH

No plans for today, but tomorrow morning I have an appointment with my Cardiologist.  Prayers would be appreciated.  I don't expect any problems ~ other than getting my shoes and socks off and back on (lol) ~ but I'd be happy not to have any surprises.

Speaking of the Debates, did you see the Musical Video someone made of the Second Debate?   Hysterical.  Trump and Hillary singing "Now I've had the time of my life . . " to each other.

Our mail-in ballots should be mailed to us on the 19th (I think.  Maybe it's the 17th)    We are decided too, and will mail them in early.  We have so many ballot issues that we have to go over to be sure we vote correctly on them, so we still have some work to do.

Poor Diane!  How hard that must be for her.  I really hope she heals fast and completely!

The Misti can be used on any stamp, but if you have one attached to a wood block you would have to take it off of the block.   You have to add all of the Polymer and clear stamps to an acrylic block as it is, so instead you just add them to the Misti.  Sounds easy to me, but I will let you know.  I plan to try to use it soon, on these three "assembly line" cards.

I love my new tag!  I am always so amazed with all you have learned to do and how creative you are.    I haven't done anything in PSP for years except perhaps to add a name to a tube or snag, so I am VERY impressed!   Thank you!

Have an amazing day!

My Assembly Line.   I used up the last of the "Cupcake" paper.   I have lots of colored pens and pencils, but every time I wanted a specific color or shade, I didn't have it.   Well harrumph.   LOL    Anyway, I thought I would let you see the assembly line process.

The actual card is in a 'Cupcake' (tan) card stock
Then that is topped with a layer of Sugarplum card stock, a quarter of an inch smaller.
Then the Designer Cupcake paper, a quarter of an inch smaller than the Sugarplum.
The 'Stripe' across is also in Sugarplum
and the green stripe on top of that is a green glitter washi tape.
Then finally, the hand stamped and colored Cupcake Girl Stamp, which is affixed with "Dimensionals" to make it stand up from the rest of the card.

I do not know why this is happening to me.

I know it is not God, he would not want to drive

me crazy.  My post was all but done and my

computer shut down. When I started it back up

it said it needed to check  a drive for stability.

So I let that run and I saw it was not finding some

things and it was fixing some things, etc.  Did

not see the final words as I had to go to the bath-

room.  Maybe I have a computer Gremlin.

You will not miss anything as I will write it all again,

but I have to remake my border and gather my tags

again and I just do not have time to do all that again.

Chat with you tomorrow.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT

Hello

Better late than never?    I had my appointment at the Cardiologists and then we went for a few groceries.   We talked about going to the Keg for dinner tonight, but I think we may have opted to just stay home and eat Junk Food in celebration of my good results.

When I had my Echo in April, Dr Kim called and said that my Aortic Stenosis was worse and I would need another Echo next year.  I'd been going every two years.  My feet were swollen as usual and I've gained 9000 lbs, so I wasn't looking forward to today, but surprise, surprise.  BP 116/64,  Weight 4 lbs over my pre-dressing and coffee weight at home (lol) and Dr Kim said that the Aortic Stenosis was about the same as the previous year so I wouldn't need another echo for two years.  YAY.  He always has me take my shoes and socks off, so I asked him what he learned from looking at my little fat feet, and he said he looked for swelling indicating fluid retention, and while I had some it wasn't too much.  Really?   See ya in a year.

It does seem a bit early for Trick or Treat, but there seem to be a lot of Tricks going on right now!    Where are our TREATS?

When I came in today, all the borders were blank, but they filled in, thank goodness.   I'm so sorry you lost your post again.

Hope the day goes well for you!

RE:WELCOME TO OCTOBER CHAT
(Date Posted:10/14/2016 10:09 PM)

TRYING THIS AGAIN AND HOPING ALL GOES WELL.  1ST ON MY LIST IS OUR STINKY HOUSE. KATHY, THE GOOD NEIGHBOR FROM UPSTAIRS DISCOVERED WED. THAT THE SEWAGE WAS BACKING UP IN THE BASEMENT IN THE FRONT AND THE BACK.  MOM CALLED THE HANDYMAN BUT HE COULD NOT COME SO SHE CALLED  BUD AND HE SAID HE WOULD CALL A PLUMBER, BUT THEY COULD NOT COME UNTIL THURSDAY, OK.  IT STUNK TOO MUCH TO GO DOWN AND NO ONE COULD DO LAUNDRY.  WE PROBABLY SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN FLUSHING TOILETS, ETC.  WE WERE THEIR 2ND JOB THEN.  THEY DID NOT TELL US THAT THEY WERE HERE, THEY JUST WENT DOWN AND STARTED.  MOM HEARD THEM AND WENT DOWN.  THEY HAD A COUPLE HUGE MACHINES THEY WERE USING TO CLEAR THE DRAINS AT THE FRONT AND BACK.  MOM SAID IT SMELLED AWFUL AND SHE SAW TOILET PAPER, POOP AND TWIGS EVERYWHERE.  AT SOME POINT THEY LEFT.  THEN MOM GOT ANOTHER CALL FROM KATHY.  SHE WENT DOWN TO DO LAUNDRY AND THE WAS CRAP AND TP ALL OVER THE FLOOR IN HER LAUNDRY ROOM AND A BIG BUCKET OF CRAP LEFT SITTING BY HER WASHER.  SO MOM CALLED THE LANDLORD AGAIN.  HE WAS NOT HAPPY.  HE SAID I HAD TO CLEAN IT LAST TIME AND WILL HAVE TO THIS TIME TOO.  MOM SAID IF WE COULD, WE WOULD HELP, BUT WE CANNOT.  HE SAID HE COULD NOT COME TILL SAT OR SUN.  HOPEFULLY SUNDAY.  CHRIS AND SCOTT SAID THEY CAN HELP BUD.
I OVE WHAT YOU DID WITH YOUR CARDS.  I SEE THE STAMP LOOKS A LOT LIKE THE ONES THE WOMAN USING THE MISTI HAD. SEEING THEM COLORED IN AND USING THEM ON A CARD I LIKE THEM.  THE CARDS ARE SO CUTE.   YOU REALLY ARE DOING FABULOUS ON THEM.  YOUR COLORING LOOKS GREAT.  THE CARDS LOOK VERY PROFESSIONAL.
SO HAPPY THAT YOUR APPT WENT WELL.  I DID PRAY FOR YOU AND MY PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED.  I ASKED GOD TO MAKE EVERYTHING FINE AND NOT CHANGES SO THAT NOTHING ELSE WOULD BE PUT ON YOUR PLATE. LORD KNOWS I PUT ENOUGH CRAP ON IT.
OH THAT NAUGHTY LITTILE BOY OF OURS.  HE IS A STINKER ISN'T HE, LOL.  HOPE YOU HAVE THE TV SAFELY SECURED NOW.  WOULD NOT WANT IT TO FALL ON HIM, LET ALONE RUIN THE TV.  HE JUST HAS TO REMIND YOU THAT THIS BIG FIERCE CAT RULES.  ALL HAIL KING SHOGUN!!
I STILL HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OF THE DEBATES, JUST SOME HIGHT LIGHTS HERE AND THERE. MOM WILL BE GONE ALL MORNING TOMORROW SO I MAY TRY AND FIND THEM ON YOU TUBE.
I WILL HAVE TO SAY GOOD NIGHT.  MOM WANTS TO SLEEP AND I NEED TO TURN THE LIGHT OFF.
I WILL CHAT SOME MORE TOMORROW.

Good Morning.

Looks like it's going to be another hot one today.  Of course I won't know, cuz I'll be inside wearing a sweatshirt.  smiley79

Right now, there is nothing on my schedule and I plan to finish the inside of those three cards and see if I can come up with something for a couple of upcoming birthdays.  Come on, Creative Juices!
smiley67
Oh my Lord, what a nightmare!   I hate to even think about the smell ~ and the sight of everyone's "droppings".  Aaarrgghhh.  I do feel sorry for your landlord, but the people he hired should have cleaned the mess up.  Nasty, awful job, but they are getting paid for it.  I'm so sorry you all have to live with it until past the weekend!

Thanks ~ I'm glad you like the cards.  This was my first "assembly line".  lol   It will be good to have some birthday cards on hand.  I've always done that with 'store bought' cards because when I need one I have to have Mike take me to the Hallmark store, and then sometimes (not always) standing for a length of time looking at them becomes painful.  Easier to buy several at a time, sometimes with individuals in mind, and sometimes just to have on hand.  I'd like to do the same with the cards I make ~ a few at the ready "just in case".

What kinds of stamps did you use when you were stamping?  How were they different from the ones I use?   I don't always color them ~ it depends.  If they are "solid", I can just ink them and stamp them with whatever color.   If it's a saying, of course, I just ink them.  What did you use that was different?   Soooo much to learn!

You have no idea how much I appreciate your prayers!  I didn't expect anything terrible right then and there, but I was concerned that there might be other tests or an angiogram or something I really don't want to deal with in my near future.   I don't understand why he called after my echo in (April?  can't remember) and said the stenosis was worse, and now "no change", other than perhaps the Radiologist had indicated a change on a written report that he didn't see later when he looked at the actual test results.  I donno ~ but I will surely happily take it!   Thank you so much!!

Oh, you and Mike ~ more concerned about the Shogun than the TV!  Honestly!  Ok.  I won't kill him THIS time.  Ha.  Mike said he could see paw prints on the top of the TV, so he thought Shogun must have been there when it started to slip.  It really is a wonder that nothing bad happened.  Unfortunately "the guy" won't be here until noon on Monday, so the TV is vulnerable until then.  I just hope it scared Shogun enough to stay away until then!   The old tv was the same design, but Mike says it was a bit higher up.  I honestly don't remember.  Anyway, it was here in the same spot for the 5 1/2 years before we got this one and we weren't aware of any attacks on it.

Now we have the bedroom window up maybe 2 or 3 inches and Shogun sits on his perch and looks out and enjoys the smells and sights and sounds of the great outdoors from that safe spot.   A bird must have just flown by, because I heard this noise and he was half IN the window ready to get the intruder.  LOL  He really has turned into such a lovebug that I will feel really bad if I have to kill him.  (giggle.  snort.)

I do have some highlights from the Second Debate that I can share with you.  They really are pretty good.

Debate Video

Thank you for the GREAT Halloween Tag!

Helloooooooo.

While the trees have been changing rather prettily, it sure doesn't seem like Halloween weather here.  It's going to be 80 degrees again today!

They are going to turn off the Sprinkler system and blow it out this week, so Mike needs to turn the water off from the basement to the outside today.   We also need to do some laundry.  Other than that, who knows.    I did finish those "assembly line" birthday cards yesterday, doing the insides so now I have a little "stash"!

I KNOW I USED IMPACT FONT, BUT I HAVE FOUND I HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF TROUBLE READING IT.  THE HEAVY LETTERING IS TO CLOSE TOGETHER MAKING IT HARD TO READ, SO PLEASE DO NOT USE IT, LOL. ANY OF THE OTHERS, USED AT 14 WORKS FINE FOR ME.  THE CAPITALS ARE EASIER FOR ME TO USE, BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO.  I CAN READ THE OTHERS JUST FINE.

MY STAMPS WERE REALLY NOT SO DIFFERENT THEN YOURS. I AM NOT SURE WHAT YOU MEAN?  MINE WEAR ALL WOOD BACKED.  WE REALLY DID NOT DO ALL THE PAPER WORK THAT YOU DO, WHICH I LOVE SO MUCH.  I HAD A LOT OF CHRISTMAS.  I AM SUCH A COLLECTOR WHEN I START A HOBBY. I WANT, WANT, WANT IT ALL.  I BUY. BUY, BUY!  I CANNOT EVEN REMEMBER WHAT ALL I HAVE.  YOU SHOULD TRY A TECHNIQUE THAT I LOVED DOING.  DO YOU HAVE COLORED MARKERS?  NOT PERMANENT ONES, BUT WATER ONES,  USE THEM TO COLORS YOUR STAMP. BUT YOU HAVE TO WORK FAST SO THE STAY WET. AS YOU GO YOU CAN HUFF ON THEM TO HELP KEEP THEM WET.  YOU KNOW HOW YOU "HA" ON YOUR GLASSES TO STEAM THEM TO CLEAN THEM.  YOU DO THAT SAME THING TO YOUR STAMP TO KEEP IT WET. I ALWAYS DO IT TO THE STAMP AGAIN RIGHT BEFORE I STAMP IT.  I LOVE THE OUTLINES BEING THE COLORED AND IT IS A GREAT LOOK. I WISH MY STAMPS AND STUFF WERE ACCESSIBLE BUT THEY ARE NOT. I NEED TO MAKE THANK YOU CARDS FOR MY BIRTHDAY GIFTS.  I HAVE SOME DIGITAL STAMPS SO I AM GOING TO GO WITH THAT I GUESS.

BUD. CHRIS AND SCOTT CLEANED THE BASEMENT.  IT TOOK THEM ALL WEEKEND BUT THEY DID IT.  THEY HAD TO THROW AWAY THINGS THAT BUD HAS LEFT DOWN THERE...LIKE THE WOOD 2X4'S BUD LEFT DOWN THERE AS HE LEFT THEM IN THE FRONT ROOM AND THE PLUMBERS USED THEM TO WALK ON ACROSS THE ROOM SO AS NOT TO WALK IN THE SEWAGE. GROSS. HE HIRED THESE GUYS THE LAST TIME WE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND THEY LEFT A MESS THEN TOO.  SO I SUPPOSE THIS IS HOW THEY WORK.  A FRIEND TOLD US WHEN THIS HAPPENED TO THEM, THEIR PLUMBER CLEANED UP AFTERWARD. I SUPPOSE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.  SO CHEAP PLUMBERS DON'T CLEAN!

THE OTHER NIGHT, I COULD NOT SEE ANY BORDERS EITHER.  I COULD ONLY SEE THE ONE I MADE EARLIER IN THE WEEK AND THE ONE I HAD JUST MADE, IT WAS SO WEIRD.  ALSO LOADING TIMES WERE HORRIBLE.  I DO NOT KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON THE AIMOO FREAKS ME OUT SOMETIMES.

YOU KNOW IT REALLY IS FUNNY,  I SOMETIMES THINK, WOW, THAT IS A GREAT TAG YOU USED AND THEN SEE THAT I MADE IT.  MOST I REMEMBER BUT A COUPLE OF TIMES I DO NOT RECALL THE MAKING OF THEM, LOL.  I REALLY HAVE SOME A LONG WAY.  I WISH I HAD A BETTER MEMORY SO THAT WHEN I USE A GREAT FILTER THAT I COULD REMEMBER WHAT ONE IT IS SO THAT I COULD USE IT AGAIN. I NEED TO MAKE LITTLE NOTES IN A NOTEBOOK. WHY DID I NOT THINK OF THAT BEFORE?

TIME TO SAY TATA!!  GOTTA USE THE LITTLE GIRLS ROOM.

HUGS.

It's 4 o'clock in the morning and I've been awake trying to suppress a cough for an hour.  I finally got up and went to hack in the bathroom, and of course woke poor Mike up, so now he has an old movie on so hopefully he can go back to sleep, and here I am, posting.  This is sooo irritating.

The TV Fix-it guy is coming at noon, so we'll have a little bit of picking up to do, not much, before he gets here, and I have a load of clothes to fold.   I have completely run out of imagination ~ I have some cards I want to make, and not an idea in sight.  I spent half the day yesterday on Pinterest trying to find an inspiration, without any luck.   Maybe today will be better.   Or not.

It took me a while to figure out what you were talking about regarding the Impact font, then I realized I had just copied a border you made and that must have been the font that came up.   I don't remember ever intentionally picking the impact font ~ lol.  So, having used another of your borders today, I switched to Comic Sans, size 18, not bolded.  Let me know.

I would be furious if I paid a plumber and he not only left the mess you describe, but also used MY boards and ruined them and left them for me to deal with!   I hope they really are cheap, because they are clearly "crappy".

You mentioned before not liking the stamps the woman demonstrating the Misti used, and then said mine looked like hers but you liked them.  That's why I asked what kinds of stamps you used ~ I thought they must have been different than the ones I'm using.     Thanks so much for your kind words about the way mine turned out.
I used the Misti for the insides of those cards and it was a Learning Experience for sure!   I really can see how it can be a good tool, especially if you are making lots of the same card, BUT I definitely learned some limitations.  Like most things, once you "get" it and know what you can and cannot do, I'm sure it would be very helpful.    Lessons learned ~~ When they say don't let the magnets come together, they aren't kidding.   I put them aside while I was setting up, not too close together I thought, and BAM.  Twice!  It's a miracle I didn't get a blood blister, but I sure got pinched ~ and as I said, TWICE!
Second, I thought the real advantage would be to design where your stamps would be placed and then ink them, stamp them, and move on to the next card.   Well ~~ no.   I finally figured out that the problem I was having was because the stamps were of unequal thickness, and the thicker one prevented the thinner one from inking my paper.  Many do-overs before the lightbulb went off.  duh!  (lol)   So, you can ink them and stamp them one at a time, but if one is thicker it has to be removed before the others will stamp, which means it would have to be replaced for each successive card.  Not quite the assembly line process I had imagined.    Ah!  TMI.  Sorry.  I ramble sometimes.  lol

In answer to your question, yes I do have both pencils and colored markers with both a fine tip and a "paint brush" tip.  I use them for small stamps, but I still have trouble using them on larger surfaces.   I do like that I can use more than one color on a stamp ~ if I can get the ink to last until I get it to the surface to be stamped.   That's where the Misti could come in handy, for do-overs.   Oh, then I reread.   I have some blender pens to use with them for water coloring ~ is that what you mean?  I'm not very proficient with them yet.     I wish you did have access to your stamps.  I know you did some lovely things with them when you were stamping.

LOL ~~ I've had the same experience.   I'll see a border or an old tag someone uses and think "I really like that" ~~ and then realize that I made it.  Obviously it would have been a looong time ago, if I made it.  lol   I have saved many of the things you have made for me ~ borders and all.    I save the tag, then copy the border into my own space in the other group, and then import the tag from my hard drive, since we are a Diamond Membership group.  Then I save the whole image to use later, and here I am.  ;-)

Well, it's almost 5.  Maybe I'll see if I can't catch a few zzzz's.
Have a happy day!
