RE:WELCOME TO NOVEMBER SIGN IN
(Date Posted:11/25/2013 9:24 PM)

IT'S BACK.......I SEE OUR WAYWARD SKIN HAS RETURNED.
THAT BRIGHTENS MY DAY :)  WE GOT MORE SNOW AND IT
IS COLDER THAN IT NORMALLY IS THIS TIME OF YEAR.
THOUGH IT IS 27
° RIGHT NOW, SO NOT AS BAD, THOUGH
MY ROOM SEEMED QUITE CHILLY THIS MORNING WHEN
I FIRST WOKE UP.  BUT I BURROWED IN AND WENT BACK
TO SLEEP.  DID NOT FEEL AS COLD WHEN I WOKE UP.
WE HAVE A  REAL LIFE MURDER MYSTERY GOING ON IN
TOWN.  BUT IT IS EARLY IN THE INVESTIGATION AND
THEY ARE NOT SHARING MUCH INFO.
I WIFE REPORTED HER HUSBAND MISSING, 5 DAYS AFTER
HER WENT MISSING AND WITH A LISTING OF OTHER
CITIES HER OFTEN VISITED.  THEN THEY STATE THAT
THEY BELIEVE THE MAN MET WITH FOUL PLAY.  BUT GAVE
OUT NO INFO.  THEN THEY ARRESTED THE MANS WIFE
AND HER SISTER AND AGAIN SAY THEY BELIEVE HE MET
WITH FOUL PLAY BUT SAID THEY COULD NO RELEASE ANY
INFO AT THIS TIME.  THEY DID ASK HUNTERS TO WATCH
FOR ANYTHING UNUSUAL THEY MIGHT SEE IN THE WOODS
THIS PAST WEEKEND AS THEY DO NOT HAVE A BODY YET.
BUT THEY HAD TO HAVE PHYSICAL EVIDENCE OF SOME
SORT SINCE THEY ARRESTED THE WOMEN.  I FEEL AS IF
I AM WATCHING ONE OF MY CRIME INVESTIGATION
SHOWS.  I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THERE WAS NO
MENTION IN TODAY'S PAPER.   I NEED MY INVESTIGATIVE
FIX, LOL.  I HOPE THEY ARE ABLE TO FIND THE BODY.
IT WILL BE VERY HARD TO PROVE THE DEATH UNLESS
THEY HAVE A TON OF PHYSICAL EVIDENCE.
TOMORROW NIGHT IS THE FINALLY OF DWTS.
I WANT DEREK AND AMBER TO WIN.  I HAVE SINCE DAY
ONE.  I WANT TO SEE A BIG GIRL WIN!!  I AM HAPPY THAT
JACK OSBOURNE MADE IT.  SUCH A WONDERFUL ROLE
MODEL HE IS DOING THIS WITH MS.  I GIVE HIM A LOT
OF CREDIT.  CORBIN IS GOOD, BUT I WOULD RATHER SEE
AMBER OR JACK WIN SINCE THEY WERE UNDERDOGS
FROM THE START.
YES, DOROTHY, I AM WATCHING TONS OF CHRISTMAS
MOVIES, AT LEAST 2 A DAY AND PROBABLY 4 ON THE
WEEKEND DAYS.  JUST MAKES ME WANT SO MUCH
MORE THAT I CAN HAVE.  WE USED TO DECORATE
HUGELY...YOU MIGHT EVEN SAY "OVER-DECORATE".
INSIDE AND OUT.  I MISS THAT SOOOOO MUCH.  EVEN
MY BEDROOM WAS A CHRISTMAS WONDERLAND.
MOM DID GET A TREE WITH MULTI-COLORED LIGHTS.
AND SHE BOUGHT NEW LIGHTS FOR OUTSIDE.  MAYBE
ONCE WE START DECORATING.  I MISS THE KIDS
BEING KIDS AND BELIEVING IN SANTA AND
WANTING SOMETHING OTHER THAN MONEY ALL THE
TIME.  I HATE THAT.  I LOVED FINDING THE RIGHT
GIFT SO THAT THEY YELLED "OH, YES!!" WHEN THEY
OPENED THEM.  WE DO NOT GET TO SEE LEIGH'S
BOYS WITH THEIR GIFTS AND THEY DO SOMETIMES
CALL, BUT DO NOT REMEMBER WHICH PRESENT WAS
FROM YOU.  I JUST MISS SEEING CHRISTMAS
THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD.  I JUST HAVE TO
REALIZE THAT CHRISTMAS IS DIFFERENT NOW
AND TO FIND NEW JOYS IN IT.
HUGS,

RE:WELCOME TO NOVEMBER SIGN IN
(Date Posted:11/26/2013 10:38 AM)

Good Morning

I can not believe what a stupid thing I just did.   I had my entire post written for the other group and the picture insert didn't work so I clicked on the Diamond Status Icon to clear it without saving or opening a new thread ~ and completely lost my entire post!   I hope this isn't going to be an indicator of how the day is going to go!

I think we are pretty much ready for Thanksgiving.  Last night I made that Breakfast casserole and we have it sitting out of the fridge now and we'll pop it in the oven for 40-50 minutes soon.  Then we can just nuke it for our breakfast tomorrow and for ours and Laine's breakfast on Thursday.

Mike is going out this afternoon to pick up Pie from the bakery and a few last minute things at the grocery store and our carry out dinner for tonight and tomorrow night.    I will make my dressing and a couple of chip dips today.  We have our Thanksgiving dinner reservations at The Keg for 2:30 on Thursday, and most of everything we will have for our Thanksgiving Leftovers Dinner on Friday will be heat and eat.   I think everything is a s easy as we can make it.

Mike's making his wonderful cheesy egg croissants for breakfast on Friday and we'll just have morning buns or chocolate croissants before Laine leaves on Saturday.   Her plane leaves at 10, so she has to leave here at 7.

Laine is flying in tomorrow night.   I used to drive to the airports in Rochester and Omaha to pick people up, but Denver has always been intimidating to me, and now I'm so spoiled by Mike that I hardly drive at all anymore.  Mike has always done the airport runs, but he doesn't like doing that either anymore, so we've hired a Limo service to pick her up at the airport and bring her here, and pick her up here on Friday morning and take her back to the airport.  We didn't want to drive and we didn't want her to have to pay for a taxi or rental car, so this is the next best thing, I think.  I hope!

Lou Ann, a real life mystery ~ how exciting.  As veteran mystery readers, don't our minds just go to work?  lol.

I haven't watched DWTS at all so I'll just hope the ones you picked win.

My mom and I were like you and your mom.  We decorated everywhere ~ even the bathroom ~ and loved every bit of it.   I have so many decorations we won't be using, and so many ornaments we used to use on our bigger trees that won't fit on our little four footer.  Kind of sad, but neither of us has the stamina to do ti all anymore, and since we don't really entertain, I guess it's enough for 'just us'.  I do miss the 'before' though.  I also used to bake several specialty cookies and I haven't made them for the last few years.  I know Mike misses them, so maybe I'll try this year.  . . . . or, not.

Hooray for your mom's big multi colored lighted tree!    Did I tell you we changed the lights on our outside spruce from all white to multi colored?  The house will still be all white, but the tree will be "old fashioned"

I do miss being able to shop for people who will be thrilled with what I buy, too.   Now the new very little kids get everything they could ever hope for from parents, grand parents, aunts and uncles, and we aren't close enough physically to see what might delight them (that they don't already have), so it isn't much fun.   We'll do ornaments at Christmas for a while and maybe the silver collectible coins for birthdays, but there really isn't anything we can get them that will be special.  Ditto the older "kids".  smiley74

We really do have to find a way to keep Christmas special in our hearts.

Have a Happy Day.

Oops, I forgot to get rid of the white border.  I usually do.
Oh well, lol at my smiley above.  Seems a bit manic!!!
Dorothy, sounds to me that you are all set.  Going to take the
time now to wish a a very Happy Thanksgiving and to tell
you that your friendship is one of the things that I am
truly thankful for in my life.  God Bless you and Mike!
Brrrr.....smiley15it is so cold
and we got some more snow, though not a great deal.
But with these temps is will be staying put.  I got a
lot of shopping done on line.  Moms gifts have all arrived.
I bought my sister Suz 2 new shirts as a thank you for
all she does for me.  I got my sil Kristi in our gift exchange
and I got her 2 pairs of slippers on Amazons Black Friday
sale and had them shipped there.  Leigh will wrap them for
me.  Did the same thing for Kristi's daughter Maggie...2
pair of earrings via Amazon sent to Leigh to wrap.  Her
oldest daughter Lexie, would be in the adult draw but she opted out.  Leigh's boys Jake and Ben and both getting
magazine subscriptions.  All I have left are Josh and Jason.
I am going to try and avoid giving them money.  I have my
eye on a T-shirt for Josh that says "You can never have too
many guitars" with pictures of different guitars on it.  It
seems perfect for him. But Jason I just do not know.
Then I just have My friends Carole and Gloria and I am
done.  I swear we are going to be ready early this year.
I need to update the Christmas Card list.  And I know
exactly where the Christmas Cards I bought on clearance
last year are, so I want to get them out early.  Last year
I pretty much did them alone as mom feels her writing
is horrible now.  I want to see if I can find a way to put the cards through the printer and print out our notes and
signatures.  Would be so much easier that way and I
think I can figure it out.  So starting Friday I am going
into Christmas mode.  The boys will all be hunting on Friday
and the weekend, so not tree up till next week.  Unless I
tackle that myself, but will probably not.
So, again, have a Happy Thanksgiving and will see you on
Sunday or Monday after your company is gone.
Hugs,

Aw, thank you.  I'm so thankful to have you in my life too. Every day I look forward to coming in here and seeing what you've been up to and spending time with you.  You brighten my world.

I'm probably not going to be able to get in for the next couple of days, until Laine leaves, so I'll wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving now!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!   I'll see you on Saturday after Laine leaves.   (I hope).
