Good Morning!   Welcome to November!  Didja remember to Fall Back?    We stayed up late (after 1 AM) watching TV and I woke up at 7:15, which is really 6:15.  Getting close to 6 hours of sleep was good, and gaining an hour to use during the day doesn't hurt either.   Most of our clocks automatically reset themselves, but we do have a few that we will have to manually set.

smiley30

I can't believe you got the new skin and page done ON Halloween ~ and of course both are wonderful, as usual!   Thank you!

I'm so sorry it rained on your Trick or Treat Parade.  Last night we only saw one family with the porch lights on from our house.  There may have been others on the two streets we can't see from here.  I did see some kids in costume walking across the street from us around 6 o'clock.   I really do miss handing out treats, but I wonder how many our neighborhood gets.  It might not be worth it even if I still could.   We used to always turn the lights off at 8PM, and there were always still kids roaming the streets then, but we would have handed out around 100 by then and be very close to 'out'.  We didn't want to have some kids come and tell them we didn't have enough for all.

We had really nice weather, though definitely on the cold side.  I hate it when we have rain or snow for Halloween, even though we aren't participating any more.  I want the kids to all have the kind of fun memories I have ~ and getting soaked isn't what I have in mind.

I'm so sorry your carry out restaurant was disappointing.  We've had that happen so many times ~ a restaurant we love changes hands and even though the menu items are the same, there is no comparison.  So very disappointing.   We had chili and cornbread and it was delicious.  We'll be doing it again tonight ~ and maybe even tomorrow night.  Then there will be a lot we can freeze.   I don't hate it!

This is the Scone/cornbread pan Mike got me ~ It looks blue, but it's really black.  Don't know why, but I like it. ;-)

smiley30

Happy November!

Love ya

RE:WELCOME TO NOVEMBER CHAT
(Date Posted:11/02/2015 8:14 AM)

We did get quite a bit done yesterday, and I'm feeling a bit less apprehensive.  I got the check books balanced for the first of the month, and today I need to transfer funds and re-balance them, which doesn't get me ready for the Carpet Folk, but still has to be done.

Mike got a lot done.  He's been a real dynamo lately ~ well, dynamo by our standards, prob'ly not so much by anyone else's.  Ha.

Fortunately, our company is coming BEFORE Thanksgiving, and then they will go on to Omaha and have Thanksgiving with Laine before going on to Bill's mom's.   So, we have to hustle to have the house looking decent the weekend before Thanksgiving, but they will leave that Tuesday and we don't have to worry about cooking.  We usually go out anyway for Thanksgiving dinner, though I don't know whether we will this year since Mike hasn't had his teeth fixed yet.  It should be ok, but I'll leave that up to him.  The initial appointments have been made, and I'll be back begging prayers when the time is closer.

Then Laine is coming in Mid December for a long weekend, so we need to get the house decorated and the Guest Suite cleaned and the bedding freshened after Marianne and Bill's visit.  Thank goodness for Shauna!    We were going to have the couch picked up during that time and returned before Christmas, but now we'll wait until after the holidays.   Honestly ~ what is that line about it never raining but what it pours?  No overnight company all year, and now everything happening at once!

Yes, we'll be freezing a lot of chili.  We'll have it tonight but that should be 'it' for a while.

We didn't watch the game last night, but we switched back and forth to catch the score.  Do you need a hug this morning?  I'm here for you. smiley80

I will be praying for good reports from your Dr visit today!

Good Morning!

I got a bit more done yesterday and I think I've made the "executive decision" to not worry about emptying all of the drawers.   Surely they must know that people put things in drawers and don't have lots of places to move them to in circumstances like these.   I'll keep going, and go as far as I can, but there is no way I can move everything.

Mike took the car in to the garage to get the oil changed yesterday morning, and got right in.  He also had a coupon to have the oil changed and all systems checked, and when they did that they discovered that one of the LED lights in the brake was out.  They are all connected, so you can't just change or replace a single light, and of course they didn't have the set or system or whatever it is in stock, so they ordered it and Mike will have to go back to have that work done when it comes in.   Very fortunately they extended the warranty, because that is VERY expensive.   We had the other side replaced under warranty the first year we had the car.  Once this is done, we should be good to go for a long time ~~ I hope!

We're still expecting snow on the day (Thursday) that they come to take the bed, but only very cold (in the 40s) on Friday when they come to replace the carpet.   That's what the Weather Folk are saying.  What actually will happen remains to be seen.

I'm so sorry you lost your post ~~ sorry for you because I understand the frustration, and sorry for Me, cuz I didn't get to read it!

I hope your appointment went well, and so does the rest of your day!

I'm back!! I still do not know what happened to that post

and right now I do not care. Just going to share my day

with you.

But first I am going to warn you to not overdue it. You have

had issues with your back before and you do not want that

happening again and Mike needs to be more careful too! He

has those balance issues with the Parkinson's and we do not

want him overdoing it either. If one of you gets hurt it may

be too hard for the other to be the caretaker. I had better

not hear that you emptied those drawers and lugged the

contents somewhere. Do you hear me?? Why not go ahead

and get the couch recovered earlier. You just tell family

that you are having it upholstered. No one uses that for a

bed so what difference does it make. The sooner he gets it,

the sooner it gets done and home again. Ok, done ranting at

you....but please take care!

Ok, my day was awesome!! It was so nice out...70 and sunny.

Just a beautiful day. Louann took me to Dr. Pasiuk my

Nephrologist (Kidney). We were in and out in a flash, lol.

I had labs drawn last week for this appt. So he looks at me

and says "You may never have to see me again." Huh? He

then goes on the say that my kidneys were working at 40%

6 months ago. Now they are working at greater than 60%. I

am out of the danger zone. I do not have to come unless'

Denise sees a down swing in my kidney labs. Continue to stay

off all NSAIDS and anything else that is not kidney friendly.

I will always have Kidney Disease but I should be fine as long

as I am diligent about making sure no one orders me any meds

that may hurt my kidneys. Do my happy dance in my chair.

So then we drove to Walmart to pick up a Rx I had waiting

for pick up then back to my house then Nan came in wanting

to go to a restaurant for lunch but I passed on that as I

knew walking in would start the coughing and who knew when it

would end. So when they were done they came back and got me

and we went out to Louann and Bruces. We all worked on

knitting or crochet projects and watched a bunch of cooking

shows and contests that Louann had saved. She and Nan love

them, not me! But we were together. Bruce was going to join us

but never did. Kirstie and Liam came over and we had some fun

with Liam. Kirstie wanted Bruce to get some photo's done of

Liam so she went into the basement to help Bruce. He has a

photography shop set up down there. Eventually they got Liam

but he was not cooperating. Kirstie said she did get some shots

of Bruce and Liam with their "hats" on. Cannot wait to see

them. Suppertime came and we had to decide what to do. I

said I would rather not go out because of my cough. Louann

said she had some bread pizza's in the freezer so we went

that route.  So we had pizza's made on flat bread, homemade

applesauce and veggies and dip. Louann had made an awesome

dessert. Double chocolate brownie as the bottom layer. The

next layer was chocolate chip cookie dough and the top layer

was some sort of chocolate sauce poured over the top.

It was so unbelievably good. I want it just thinking about it.

So then we watched Dancing With The Stars which went to

9pm and then we left. Kirstie and Liam left shortly after

supper as he is usually in bed by 7pm. Did I say what I

was working on?  I have several skeins of yarn left from

that Packer afghan I made last year so decided I would

make some boys scarves to donate to the church. They

sponsor one of the low income schools. They put up a

Christmas tree in the fellowship hall and the members

decorate it with scarves, hats and mittens for the kids.

I should have started a lot earlier than this. Oh well.

Well that's it. Today's tag was a challenge to use the

name of a song from the year you were born and make

it into a tag. I went with the #1 song for the day I was

born...it was actually #1 for like 6 or more weeks. It was

actually a twosome...Hound Dog/Don't Be Cruel. But I chose

Hound Dog.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO NOVEMBER CHAT
(Date Posted:11/04/2015 10:38 AM)

Good Morning!
Looks like the weather is changing with a high of only 61 and a 40% chance of rain this afternoon, but tomorrow and for the next three days it will only be in the 40s!   Right now they aren't showing snow, but you never know.

I get tired just thinking about the rest of the week, but this, too, shall pass ~~ or I will.  lol

Mike is at the Lincoln place having those LED lights replaced, thankfully under the extended warranty, and hopefully without any problems.
The coupon Mike had for the oil change and diagnostics also included a car wash, so he had that done, too ~~ now if he can just get home before it starts to rain!  lol

News!  Our sister-in-law, Carolyn, is getting married on her birthday which is the day after Christmas!  She has been telling me about this really nice man she has been seeing, and I could 'feel' that it was getting serious, but she hadn't mentioned him to Mike's sister yet.  Laine and Quinn haven't met him, and don't particularly want to.  They want her to be happy, but I think it's hard for Laine in particular to see another man in her dad's house.  She was very close to Tom.  I know once she gets used to the idea, she will be fine.  In many ways, through her dad's illness and death and then her mom's illness, she has been the grown up taking care of everyone.  She's only 30.  Maybe now she will be able to be a kid again.  She talks about moving to Chicago when the lease on her apartment in Omaha and her car are up in April.   I really hate the idea of her moving to Chicago, but she's a smart kid and I have to trust that she knows what she is doing and can take care of herself.
Anyway, my concern for Carolyn is that she may be moving too fast.  My friend Donna remarried fairly quickly after her husband died, and her new husband proved to be a real jerk.  Financially it was not a good move.  Both she and Bob sold their own paid for homes and bought a gorgeous new home together, but when they sold that and divided the cash, she had to have a mortgage on the new condo she bought.  Now, less than a year later, she and the NEW man in her life have sold their homes and bought a new home together, and she seems very happy ~ but she's not getting married again.
hope Carolyn's new husband-to-be really is a good guy and she can be really happy with him.

I still feel uncomfortable about not having everything moved out of the drawers, but I finally had to get Real!  lol   Mike reminded me that when we moved we had asked them if we should take the drawers out and cover them with towels or something, and they sayd No.  They just moved everything with the drawers inside!    I'm trying to do my Scarlet O'Hara number too, and worry about it "tomorrow".

You absolutely made my day with the great news about your kidneys!  Maybe because of what we've been through with Barbs, and before that with Mike's dad on dialysis, but it completely freaks me out the thought of your goiong into kidney failure!   What wonderful news that you have brought your numbers up to the normal range!    Awesome!

That alone would have made the day perfect for me ~ but then it continued and you had a long overdue LOVELY day!   You deserve it, and I'm so glad you got it!!

I love my darling new Hound Dog!   Thank you!!

Have another GREAT Day!

I AM GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU ARE NOT GOING TO

WORRY ANY MORE ABOUT MOVING THE DRAWERS.

DID I SAY NOT WORRY, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

LIKE THAT WILL HAPPEN.  BUT AT LEAST YOU ARE

NOT GOING TO MOVE THEM.

TOMORROW IS MEN MAKE DINNER DAY SO TELL

MIKE HE BETTER GET THE LEAD OUT AND MAKE YOU

A 7 COURSE MEAL, LOL.  I SURE HOPE THAT THERE

ARE NO PROBLEMS CHANGING  THE LIGHTS AND

THAT NOTHING ELSE POPS UP.

TODAY I GOT ALL THE BILLS PAID AND PAID MOM

FOR ITEMS ORDERED THAT SHE PAID FOR. THEY ARE

CHRISTMAS PRESENTS.  THINGS ARE GOING TO BE

LEAN THIS MONTH. LOL.  CHRISTMAS WILL BE LEAN.

BUT I WILL MANAGE SOMEHOW.  THEN I CALLED AND

ORDERED CPAP SUPPLIES. I NOW OWN MY CPAP

MACHINE, SO NO LONGER HAVE TO PAY MONTHLY

FOR THAT.  I SET UP GETTING MY FLU SHOT FOR A

DAY THAT MOM HAS AN APPT, SUZ IS TAKING HER

SO I COULD JUST TAG ALONG.

THOSE WERE MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS TODAY.

NO, WAIT, I ALSO PEALED AND CUT UP APPLES

AND MOM MADE THEM INTO APPLESAUCE.  NOT

A LOT, MAYBE 10 APPLES, BUT THEY WERE GOING

TO ROT IF WE DID NOT DO SOMETHING WITH THEM.

THIS TAG CHALLENGE WAS TO CHOOSE YOUR

FAVORITE MOVIE AND GET A QUOTE FROM IT

AND USE IT ON A TAG.  ALSO WE HAD TO USE A

FONT STARTING WITH M.  I USED A FONT CALLED

MILK SCRIPT.  I HAVE SO MANY FAVORITE MOVIES

IN SO MANY DIFFERENT GENRE'S.  BUT I LOVE

FAIRYTALE, CINDERELLA, HAPPY ENDING TYPE

MOVIES SO I CHOSE "PRETTY WOMAN" AND THE

QUOTE "I WANT THE FAIRY TALE".  I CHOSE THE

TUBE BECAUSE SHE WAS WEARING A CROWN AND

THE DRESS LOOKED LIKE A BALL GOWN.  IT WAS

PINK BUT I CHANGED IT TO BLUE SINCE THAT IS

THE COLOR THE DISNEY CINDERELLA WORE.  I

ALWAYS WANTED MY PRINCE TO COME AND TAKE

ME AWAY SOMEWHERE.  SO SILLY.

HUGS,

RE:WELCOME TO NOVEMBER CHAT
(Date Posted:11/05/2015 9:10 AM)

Hello!

The frost is on the pumpkin ~~ or at least on the BBQ grill on the deck this morning.   It rained and lightened and thundered hard last night, and snowed a bit over night, though only a dusting.   We aren't going to get above the low 40s this today, but at least no more snow or rain.

We woke at 6AM today and Mike went into the Man Cave to snooze and watch TV a bit, and I decided to stay in bed for a while, and started going through my email (which takes forever!) when all of a sudden . . CRASH!  Terrible noise from the closet.  Turns out that Mike had a bag of old DVDs that he hasn't watched in a long time on a shelf behind his shirts and Shogun knocked it to the floor.  I didn't even know it was there and couldn't imagine where it came from.

The closet is beyond the bathroom and we have had a rack on the back of the closet door that we hang some clothes on and we never close that door.  Because of the carpet layers, and the fact that the closet is the only place where we can store some things like the bedroom TV, DVR, and the sacks of sweaters and things that used to live in the big drawers under the bed, we moved things around and removed the rack so we can close the closet door when the carpet folks are here.  That opened a niche for Shogun to access the shelf behind Mike's shirts.  What a mess.

They are coming to take our bed today between noon and 2, and don't plan to bring it back until Sunday morning, even though the carpet layers said they would work around the movers if they wanted to bring it back tomorrow.  Apparently the movers are booked until Sunday. So, three nights on the hide-a-bed in between moving "little" things, some of which aren't so little, and having a house full of people all day Friday.

You know that Mike calls our house "Our final resting place", meaning that we are never ever going to move again.  I'm adding to that.  I will never re-carpet again.  If this carpet wears out or gets stained or we just plain hate it ~ too bad.  Never again!

I am NOT having fun yet.   Can you die of Tired?

You really did get a lot done ~~ good for you!

Every little girl grows up loving Cinderella ~ and wanting to wear the perfect Ball Gown and marry her Prince.  The tag is perfect!  Thank you!

I have to get busy and get the bed unmade and things ready for the movers, so I'd best get going.

I won't be getting back here tomorrow.  We'll be hustling before the Carpet layers get here ~ and I don't even want to think about WHEN they are here.  Pray for us. ha!

See you Saturday ~ or Sunday if they don't get done tomorrow.

MY ADVICE TO YOU IS TO RELAX AND GO WITH THE FLOW.  DO NOT TRY TO MICROMANAGE THE MOVERS AND CARPET LAYERS. ETC.  YOU AND MIKE JUST LOCK YOURSELVES AWAY SOMEWHERE, WATCH SOME MOVIES, EAT SOME GREAT FOOD.  ALL IS GOING TO WORK OUT PERFECTLY.  WOULD IT BE TO HARD FOR YOU GUYS TO SLEEP IN THE GUEST BED??  WOULD IT BE MORE COMFORTABLE?  I DID NOT DO MUCH OF ANYTHING TODAY.  SPENT THE EVENING ALONE AS DIANE TOOK MOM OUT TO EAT AND THEN TO THE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL "MARY POPPINS".  MOM SAID IT WAS WONDERFUL.  KIDS EVEN LEARNED TO TAP DANCE FOR IT.  IT IS NOT ONE OF MY FAVORITE MUSICALS.  BUT I DO LOVE DICK VAN DYKE AND JULIE ANDREWS.  TONIGHTS TAG WAS A COLOR PALETTE CHALLENGE.  HUGS,

RE:WELCOME TO NOVEMBER CHAT
(Date Posted:11/07/2015 8:21 AM)

Good Morning

We think we survived 'Carpet-phase I'.  I'll have to wait a while to be sure.  The two guys came around 11:30 yesterday and were here until around 6:30 last night.  One barely spoke English and the other I don't believe spoke any at all, just smiled when I jabbered at him.  They were very hard workers, but ~~ well, I won't go into the things that bothered me. You don't have time to read that.   One kept saying "Ocho"  "Ocho", which we took to mean that he wanted to be done by four.  I would have loved that, too. Ha. They got it done, and Antonio asked if he could come back this morning to cut the four little 'rugs' that Tom (the salesman) will have bound for us later, and put the leftover carpet into storage.  At least I think that's what he's coming back to do.  I'm not sure I will know until he does whatever it is.  Anyway, I agreed so I can't just stay in my jammies today.  Believe me when I tell you that I would if I could.  Thank God I had dinner made so we could just heat and eat last night!   We didn't even pull out the bed either night.  Just slept in lounge chairs.  Sort of.

I've never seen so much dust in my life, and you know this house attracts dust like it was on a mission.  You could write your name on any of the dark wood shelves in the Library, and I suspect every other surface in the house.  I don't even want to think about the books.  We're never going to take them all down and vacuum them!  Shauna is coming on Monday, thank God, but I can't let it all wait for her because I need to start putting the smaller things back.

Enuf.  I think we are going to like it.   It looks nice, and it's DONE.  Now if just holds up about a million times better than our old carpet ~~~ if it doesn't, too bad, cuz we're never going to do this again.

Thank you for my pretty tag ~~ I could use a little Peace!

Haven't had coffee yet.  Have to get dressed for Antonio.   I think.

Mike's broken tooth became looser yesterday ~ naturally our dentist's office is closed on Friday, so he will have to wait until Monday to get it fixed ~~~ I just hope he can wait that long.   He's also got a lot of arthritis pain in his elbow.  I need to do as much as I can so he won't have to, poor guy.  Poor me, too.  Ha.

Have a happy day.

WELL I AM HAPPY TO HEAR THAT THE CARPETING IS GOING WELL. I HATE TO BREAK IT TO YOU BUT OCHO IN SPANISH IS 8. SO YOU ARE LUCKY THEY WERE DONE BY 6:30, LOL. I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY DID NOT START UNTIL 11:30, WHAT KIND OF HOURS ARE THOSE?

TOMORROW JOANNE IS HAVING EVERYONE OVER TO CELEBRATE DAVID AND JOSH'S BIRTHDAYS. THEY ARE WORKING IT AROUND THE PACKER GAME. LUNCH IS AT HALFTIME, SO AROUND 1:30. I DECIDED NOT TO GO. I JUST CANNOT TAKE ALL THAT NOISE AND PEOPLE AND AM STILL COUGHING.  FOR ONCE I AM GOING TO TAKE DR. HATAHET'S ADVICE ABOUT STAYING AWAY FROM CROWDS. I AM SO FEARFUL OF GETTING SICK AGAIN. I HAVE NOT COMPLETELY RECOVERED YET...THIS COUGH IS JUST HANGING ON. MOM WILL TELL THEM MY COUGH IS BOTHERING ME. SHE CAN SIT IN THE DINING ROOM AND CHAT, BUT I AM STUCK IN THE LIVING ROOM WITH ALL THAT TESTOSTERONE.

TODAY'S TAG IS ANOTHER MUSICAL CHALLENGE. ANY SONG WE LIKE FROM THE 80'S.  I LOVE ANNIE LENNOX OF EURYTHMICS. AND I LOVE THE SONG I CHOSE. MY TAG FITS PERFECTLY.

HUGS,

RE:WELCOME TO NOVEMBER CHAT
(Date Posted:11/08/2015 8:55 AM)

Good Morning!

They are bringing our bed back this morning!   Sheets and mattress pad are washed and fresh, but will we have the energy to make it?

Still exhausted, but yesterday I polished the furniture in the bedroom with a special bees wax polish ~ you rub it on, wait half an hour and then polish it.   I got the tops of all the furniture very well ~ the fronts and sides, not so great, but better than they were.   We need to vacuum in there before they bring the bed in.     This is a picture of the old carpet ~ floor after the king size pedestal bed was removed.   X marks the spot.   LOL

Then I polished the coffee table in the Great Room and the cat sculptures I had stored under the kitchen table while they were working.   Thought I would share a couple of pictures of the dust so you would know that my priorities aren't backwards, and I should just put things back without worrying about polishing or vacuuming until later.

Black leather kitchen chairs ~ after Shogun sat on one of them.   The black tempered glass kitchen table looks the same.

The book shelves in the Library.   I wrote "DJ was here" in the dust.

Heaven, please help me.

But wait.   There's more.     When I say exhausted, I'm not kidding, so while I was waiting between applying polish and polishing I went to sit in my recliner in the Morning Room.   Mike brought me some chips and a diet Cherry Dr Pepper, bless him.   Before I'd taken a sip of pop, Shogun decided to get up on the little table next to me, and dumped the can of Cherry Dr Pepper ~~~ on to the brand spanking new, not even 24 hours old carpet!     I was hysterical!     I blotted (and blotted and blotted) it up and I was in tears of frustration and exhaustion.

Later both Mike and I took to our PCs to see what Stainmaster recommended for cleaning soda pop spills. and he did that.   I should have but I can't explain how tired I was or how much pain I was in, so I let him.   He mixed the cleaning solution and applied it, and then rinsed it ~ but Mike has never understood "blot" vs "rub", no matter how many times I've told him.   His heart was/is in the right place, but I should have done it myself. He did blot, but not the way I would have done it.   Who knows, maybe he did it better.   I was and am numb.   I just flat couldn't do it then.   Later I came and re-blotted it a zillion times until every trace of red was gone, but I'm still not sure it is really put back to right.   I should clean it again even though it's late, but I'm not sure I physically can.   It doesn't show because the carpet has a reddish cast.

I will now stop whining ~~~ for this post only.   ;-)

OhMyGosh ~ how funny!   I really do know that ocho is eight and quatro is four.   Just shows you how totally brain dead I was ~~ and am!   LOL ~ At least that gave us a good laugh!   It's probably a good thing I did mis-remember it.   If we'd thought they were planning to stay until eight ~` ACK!   lol

I have a rather strong suspicion that Antonio and his partner may not be here legally, but Ididn't and won't inquire.   I know that people can be here legally and not know the language, but I'm not thrilled with that, and I feel even more strongly about permanent residents who won't assimilate as our ancestors did.   Both of these guys were such hard workers, and knew what they were doing and of course I respect that.     I watched the one guy use a tool that bonded the seams together ~ fascinating.   I always wondered how you could have seams ~ and you know you do ~ and not be able to see them.

Antonio came back yesterday morning and picked up the rest of the trash he had asked permission to leave and cut the little rugs for us so we can have Tom bind them.   Then he brought the remaining carpet in and stored it in the basement storage area for us.   I'm so glad I didn't have to worry about him not coming or waiting all day or something.

How nice that Joanne is having everyone over, and I'm sorry that you can't go but I completely understand.   It just isn't fun to be isolated in the middle of a crowd that is having fun.   You know you are wanted, and that's what really matters.

Love the new tag ~~ Thank you!

LOVE YOUR TAG AND BORDER.

OMG, HOW CAN THERE BE THAT MUCH DUST?

I REMEMBER WHEN WE HAD OUR CARPETS RIPPED

UP AND NEW ONES PUT DOWN.  I DO NOT RECALL

ANY MORE DUST THAN NORMAL, WHICH IS NOT

ALL THAT MUCH.  I AM ASTOUNDED AT THE AMOUNT

OF DUST YOUR PICTURES SHOW.  THAT CANNOT BE

NORMAL. WHAT THE HECK WERE YOUR CARPETS

MADE OF.  NO WONDER THEY DID NOT LAST.

OMG, THAT NAUGHTY SHOGUN. I THINK I WOULD

HAVE REACTED THE SAME WAY YOU DID.  PANIC!!!

I KNOW HE DOES NOT MEAN TO.  YOU ARE GOING

TO HAVE TO THINK OF A WAY THAT HE CANNOT

SPILL YOUR DRINKS.  MAYBE POUR THEM INTO

A CUP WITH A LID OR SOMETHING.

I HAD A QUIET DAY AND I THINK I DOZED OFF

AND ON.  CAUGHT UP ON MY SHOWS "ON DEMAND".

I AGREE THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE IN THIS

COUNTRY YOU NEED TO LEARN THE LANGUAGE.

BEFORE LONG THEY ARE GOING TO BE ADDING

SPANISH AS A 2ND NATIONAL LANGUAGE. :(

I AM GLAD THEY WERE GOOD WORKERS AND THAT

HE DID AS HE SAID HE WOULD.  I'LL BET YOUR GLAD

IT IS ALL DONE NOW.  JUST HAVE TO GET THE SOFA

UPHOLSTERED.

NO NEW TAGS.  DID NOT GET ANY DONE THIS WEEKEND.

HUGS,

RE:WELCOME TO NOVEMBER CHAT

Hello.
Shauna is coming this morning.  When we arranged for her to come, it was for her regular cleaning which normally would have been done on Friday, plus cleaning the Guest Suite to make it ready for Marianne and Bill.

We had no idea the carpet laying would create such a mess.  I'm afraid she may take one look and turn around and leave!

We did get a surprising amount of cleaning done, given how exhausted we both were and I'm rather proud of that, but there is a whole lot left to do.    We did get the bed back and made (always sooo much fun with the King sized bed!) and even got a load of clothes washed.   I won't fold them until after Shauna leaves ~ which may mean I won't do them until tomorrow.

Mike will call our dentist and I hope she will get him in.  She may have to pull that broken tooth, but I hope she can  temporarily re-bond it to the other crowned teeth.  He is having impressions made next Monday, and I'm sure it will come out then in any case, but it would be nice if he didn't have to worry about that happening between now and then.   If you can spare a prayer for him, we'd appreciate it.

I grabbed a shower last night before dinner, and it's surprising how much better that made me feel.   Clean body, clean jammies and clean sheets in a real bed and new carpeting ~ ahhhhh.

Believe me, the thought of killing Shogun did cross my mind!   You remember when he tipped Mike's little three legged table in the library and sent a glass of dark red Cabernet flying across the carpet there.   It was the old carpet, and we were able to get it up without it's leaving a stain, but I was not amused.   Every time Shogun would come near me yesterday, I'd just growl "Go away!"   I know ~ how childish.  It was an accident, but it made so much work and I was so tired and in so much pain.  I'm speaking to him now.   So far.  Ha.
The stain seems to be all gone, but I still know it's there ~~ you know what I mean?   sigh.

I don't remember ever having that much dust before when we re-carpeted either!    The salesman told us that this (Stainmaster) carpet produced less dust than the old ones had, and that was exactly my thought ~ I didn't remember any particular problem with the old ones.  Of course "old" ones for us was a looooong time ago except when we sold our house here before moving, and there wasn't any furniture in it then.   I'm glad I took the pictures, because no one would believe me about how bad it was ~~ and some of it still is.

It's been rather unrelenting in Dorothy World since June or July, starting with my surgery and all the attendant appointments, then Chrystie, then the carpet (which I must have thought was like those "Empire" Commercials ~ the guy would come out and we'd select the perfect carpet, and they would come back and install it the next day.  LOL)   What's it been, six weeks?

Now we have to get everything clean and all the things we packed away as if to move put back.  Then on Wednesday, Sue is hosting a breakfast for some of the neighborhood ladies, and my niece Mary Ann asked if we'd be home on Thursday but wouldn't say why, then Mike's teeth, then Marianne and Bill next weekend and in mid-December, Laine is going to visit for a few days.  Too much for the grumpy old Hermits!   lol

Hope you do get some rest ~ and you are having GOOD days!
