RE:WELCOME TO MAY CHAT
(Date Posted:05/24/2015 8:16 PM)

Rain, rain, rain...I bet the farmers are happy. It has been a light, steady rain so it should be great for the garden. I did not post yesterday as I never even went on my computer. Left about 3 for Fauska's and did not get home till after 11. Then Chris from the little apt was over...all I could smell as I walked in the house was alcohol. She kept talking and talking and would not stop and mom kept talking to her. It was driving me crazy. I thought she would never leave. She is like 2 years younger than me and she is always referring to 60's things to me, events, music, etc. She is obsessed and thinks I have the same like. I told her I was just a child in the 60's and really know nothing about Woodstock, etc. And she was so slurring her words. I really hate listening to drunks ramble on. I was hurting so took tylenol. But not much help. I went to bed and could not sleep again, but it was because I was in so much pain...my shoulders, hips, knees, hand and toe, lol. After an hour I got back up and went back into the living room, took 2 tylenol with codeine and tried to relax there.  I laid a long time and could not sleep. Mom woke up and put on the TV and that just irritated me but I was more comfortable in this chair at this time. Mom fell asleep with the TV on as she usually does and unless I wanted to drag myself up and cause more pain there was nothing I could do. She turned it off when she left for church which woke me. I dozed a little more but got up, hips still hurting. Then the back of my right leg felt itchy and as I started to scratch it felt several lumps in it. So tried to look at it, which is impossible, and saw a huge bruise. It is about a 5 inch circle and is dark purple but almost no color in the middle. I asked Suz to look at it to see if it was bites, but she said no, that I must have hit it on something.  Thinking it happened at Fauska's and was not a big deal but with my blood thin it made it spread out a lot.  But why there are at least 3 lumps. No clue.
Had a great time at Fauska's. I knew the girls were going to try and be there. But on the way, Nan told me that Steve and Gary were in town working at his dads house and they were coming too. The girls came with hubbies and children. So we were all there except Reid and his family which is par for the course. Liam is walking and hates being carried. Samuel crawls and pulls himself up and will be walking soon I am sure. They play so cute together and Cooper kept sneaking up and stealing their balls, so when Liam put his finger in Coopers butt, it served him right, lol. Thank goodness it was witnessed and he was grabbed up before he could put his finger in his mouth. Just this past week Kirstie had Liam outside and he picked up and piece of dog poop and was just getting it into his mouth befor Kirstie could stop him. LOL, they have their hands full. We ordered Pizza from Jets a newer pizza place and it was really good.  Nan and I split one. The only thing I did not like was that we ordered it with the garlic added to the crust. It made it too hot for me, but the middle parts were fine. Also a green salad, a jello salad and some raspberries, red and black. They were breaking them up for the babes and they were loving them.  For dessert, Louann made a fruit pizza and she had something the was peanut butter and chocolate. I would normally have some of both, but I refrained and just had the fruit pizza. Then Br uce set up his camera outside and took pictures. I had to walk on uneven ground and rocks. So everyone was helping me. They brought a lawn chair out behind me to sit when I needed. But it was on the ground while I was up on the rock border so it was a long way down to the chair. The guys helped me up and down and that is the only time I can think of that I might of hit the back of my leg. I will share them when I get them.
I am sorry that the weather is not allowing you to grill your salmon. That sucks. Also that you are unable to take care of the graves. Mom and I always used to handle it, but cannot any more. So she and Suz shopped and Suz took them out and took care of things. She will drive mom out to see it some time.
I am unaware that a policewoman was killed, so had not a clue what you were talking about. How awful. The violence in our streets seems to be getting worse and worse. Oh, I forgot to tell you that Kirstie's husband Nick, graduated and was hired by the State Police. He has to start out in the county jail, but he wants to specialize in a group like the SWAT Team or Dive Team or something like that.
He was in the final 6 with the city police and decided to also apply on the state level and they hired him. He was in Military Police when he was in Afghanistan, so between that and his schooling he is well qualified. We are so happy for him/them.
We did not get around to the Zinnia/Pinecone project so I left all my pain stuff over there as it is so heavy and did not want to hall it all home and then lug it back out there. We will do it another time.  Good excuse for getting together. Also Bruce had semi retired, though may still do some work, but he is going to do photography again. He is so good and he used to do it professionally on the side. I think he has had a lot of request due to all his wonderful baby photo's being posted on facebook.
Ok, time to shut this book down.  Have about 3 days of email to check...Lord help me.
 Love and Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO MAY CHAT
(Date Posted:05/25/2015 9:31 AM)

Memorial Day.
Let the fun begin, but at the same time, let's not lose sight of why we celebrate and who has made our celebrations possible.

Yesterday was another strange day ~ sunny and pretty though cold until mid-afternoon, then a downpour with hail for maybe 20 minutes.  We just watched old movies and had a deliciously low key day.   I think it's supposed to rain again today, but right now it looks beautiful outside and our flag is flying.

It sounds like you have had an interesting weekend, on the one hand the fun with your friends and on the other all the pain.  I'm so sorry you are still having to deal with that.

Though I am older than you, I can't talk about the 60's either ~~ I missed them, not because I was smoking wacky tobaccy but because I didn't like what was happening so I tuned them out. Apparently I was a Democrat-Conservative back then. LOL

Believe me I know how miserable it is not to get sleep, and to have to deal with that on top of the pain is really miserable.   I wonder how you got the bruise and the bumps.

My friend Judy lives in Omaha and has been sending newspaper articles about the Police woman who was shot.  It's been on Fox of course, but I guess not surprising that the so called Main Stream Media didn't think it was worthy of sharing.  It doesn't fit their current narrative.

The Officer had a premature baby in February and went back to work while her baby had to remain in the hospital.  The baby was scheduled to be released and she was to begin her maternity leave on the same day but the day before her leave was to begin, she and another officer went to serve an arrest warrant on a criminal, and he shot and killed her.  The Criminal was killed too, and I honestly don't know who killed him.   The criminal who killed her was black.

She also had two step children who clearly loved her, and now her daughter will never know her.  I can't imagine how sad Tuesday will be for the great majority of those in Omaha.

I hope your friend Bruce does keep up with his photography.  He's so talented!  He will also love semi-retirement. :-)

I hope the rest of your weekend is pain free and lots of fun!

Love 'n Hugs,

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

It was just another day here. I even forgot it was the holiday. When I remembered, I got on facebook, thanked those that I know have served and wrote a note to all who can read my posts. That was my celebration, that and doing a patriotic puzzle on my iPad.

I saw your post on facebook about the female officer and read it. So very sad. I hope they tell the baby over and over how much she loved her. Never was able to hold her baby in her arms in her own home, so very sad.

It was all that I did while at Fauska's that made me hurt so that night. Besides my O2 portable concentrator, which weighs a ton, I also had a bag with all my paints and painting accessories (heavy), my cord for recharging my O2, which is very heavy, my iPad and my blood testing kit and insulin. I could barely lift it. Also had Liam's birthday present. Nan never helps me, but she is 8 years older and has her own issues.  I left all my paint stuff at Louann's so I was not quite so laden when I went home and Steve carried it all out to the car for me.  Then sitting too long on straight back chairs and sitting in a recliner, and I use that word loosely, that does not fit me right and all the stuff outside with steps, uneven ground, rocks, chairs and only God knows what else. I am back to what is norm for me, or I was until a short while ago. I had taken off the binding on my toe and not put a new one on. Got up to the bathroom and getting mom a soda and I heard Chris in the living room ranting about something and I knew she was drunk.  I went into the living room over by my mom to give her the soda when Chris started screaming and scared the shit out of me. I jumped away and hit my bad toe on moms walker. Hot damn it hurt. I got to my chair and looked at it and it has still had swelling so I told mom that I needed to ice it. She went and got it and Chris insisted on seeing my toe. I was so afraid she would touch it and hurt me. Mom put the ice towel on my foot and went to tie it on when Chris grabbed the towel pack and was holding it tight, squeezing it while mom tied it. I hurt and mom said She is hurting but she did not stop till mom had it tied. I just wanted her to go home and mom kept trying to talk sense to her but you cannot when she is drunk. Mom told her to stop yelling at us. Then she got all teary and was I am sorry over and over and finally said we would not hear from her again tonight and kissed both of us on the forehead with a hug and telling us how much she loved us. Living with my dad was easier that this, lol. So that was our day. I put out an SOS to sisters on facebook about laundry and Diane is coming tomorrow and Joanne will finish up anything Diane does not get done on Wed. Suz saw it but did not comment as the others already had it taken care of. She did take mom grocery shopping on Sun. and put in the Garden on Sat. so I am glad the others stepped up. Then I told mom and she said I was going to do it tomorrow and I just said, well now you do not have to.  I am so afraid of her falling on the stairs or while down there and it would be so hard for me to help her.  But she goes anyway.

I like your day with old movies. I took the time to look on Amazon Prime streaming video and look for free movies under romantic comedies and add any I thought mom would like to my wish list. But whenever I suggest we watch one she seems to poo poo it. I just to not get her. She will watch a whole day of movies we have seen repeatedly on Hallmark yet does not jump at the chance to watch ones new to us. I will never understand her.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO MAY CHAT
(Date Posted:05/25/2015 10:55 PM)

Hi My Lovely.  I have a haircut in the morning so I'm going to post tonight.   Lovely, sunny day and we had the flag out all day.  Then sometime around six I brought the flag in, and in less than 10 minutes the Heavens opened up and we had another gully washer and once again, hail!  How I hate the hail.  Luckily these past three nights it's been small and rather soft, so I don't think it did too much damage.

We celebrated Memorial Day Weekend by watching "Holiday Horror Movies" ~ old classics like Peter Benchley's "Creature" and "The Beast" and "Jaws" and a few others.  Of course we've seen them a dozen times, but somehow they seem right for long holiday weekends when we have nothing else going on.   We do lead such exciting lives.  Ha.

Today, as you read this, is the funeral for the Omaha Police Woman.  I've been reading articles about her and cried so much it's a wonder I have any tears left.  I'm glad I'm not living in Omaha because if I watched the whole morning and afternoon coverage it would be as bad as when we watched the Columbine coverage.

I wanted to share a few articles with you, in case you need to 'wash' your eyes out.  I know you won't want to read them all, but maybe some of them.

From my friend Judy:  I'm going to need many more boxes of Puffs. Reporter just interviewed boy about 10 yrs old from Boys & Girls Club.
She was his baseball coach. Asked what he did when he found out she died. 'I went to my room , closed the door & just cried.' He then said ,'I don't think anybody's ever going to give me as much love as she did.' Wow! Out of the mouths of babes...After all the trash we have to put up with in the news, how refreshing this is. Hopefully, it can last more than a day!

Speaking of washing your eyes out ~ I seem to have some kind of infection in both of my eyes.  Initially I thought it was an allergy, but now I'm pretty sure it's an infection. Both eyelids burn both on top and underneath and even when I'm not reading about Kerrie, my eyes water so badly.  Probably a good thing to clean them out, but it's not much fun.  I really need eye makeup because my eyes disappear without it, but I don't dare wear it.  I haven't gone out in public without makeup yet, but unless I wake up "healed" tomorrow (today as you read this), it ain't gonna be pretty. :-(   If it isn't better by the weekend I'm going to make an appointment with my eye Dr.

I hope you have a much better day ~~ and don't let Chris in again!  ;-)

WHAT THE HELL?  WHERE DID MY POST GO? I SWEAR THAT AIMOO HATES ME. I HAD A POST READY TO GO AND LOST IT, WHICH WAS MY OWN FAULT AS I WAS STUPID AGAIN. SO I REWROTE IT AND I SHARED PICTURES. SO WHAT HAPPENED TO IT?  COULD I HAVE POSSIBLY NOT POSTED IT? NO, I KNOW I DID AS I CHECKED IT OUT AFTER I POSTED AND NOW IT IS NOT HERE. THIS WAS THE TAG AND BORDER I USED. DAMN!  JUST CANNOT WRAP MY MIND AROUND THIS.

WE HAVE BEEN HAVING SO MUCH RAIN, THOUGH TODAY HAS BEEN RELATIVELY DRY.  WARM AND HUMID, YUCK. BUT I RUN A LITTLE FAN BY ME AND IT KEEPS ME COMFORTABLE, SO FAR. NOT THINKING IT WILL HELP WHEN THE HEAT HITS.

I HOPE YOU GOT A GOOD HAIR CUT. BEEN THINKING IT IS JUST ABOUT TIME FOR ME TO GET MINE CUT SHORT. NOT SURE YET ABOUT IT...I MAY KEEP IT LONG AND JUST PUT IT UP.  WE WILL SEE. HOW ARE THE EYES? HOPING THEY ARE BETTER.

THOSE WERE SOME WONDERFUL TRIBUTES FOR KERRY AND IT IS AWFUL THAT HER BABY WILL NEVER KNOW HER. I KNOW THEY WILL TELL HER ABOUT HER WHEN SHE IS OLD ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND, BUT SHE WILL NOT HAVE A MOTHERS LOVE TO SNUGGLE WITH WHILE SHE IS SO LONG AND THAT SADDENS ME GREATLY.

SO TO LIGHTEN MY MOOD, I WILL TRY SHARING PICS AGAIN.  ENJOY THE LITTLE ONES.

2. MEMORIAL DAY AT VETERANS PARK: FINN

3. MEMORIAL DAY AT VETERANS PARK: SAILER

4. A PHOTOS FROM A SHOOT BRUCE DID OF FINN.

I COULD NOT GET THE PICS TO SEPARATE TO PUT THE WRITING BETWEEN THE PICS.  DARN, EDITING BECAUSE WHEN I CHECKED THIS ONCE I POSTED IT THERE WAS A SMALL SPACE BETWEEN EACH PIC AND WAS GOING TO MOVE THE WORDING BUT THE GAP IS NOT THERE IN EDIT.

Good Morning.

It's another lovely day here, heading for 72 with of course, rain predicted for the afternoon.
Not a lot going on with us today.  I'm going without makeup again just to keep the healing going, so if the Doorbell rings I will have to either ignore it or put a bag over my head.  Eyes much better, thank goodness.  I threw out all of my old mascara just in case that was causing the problem.  I have one never used sample size left.  I tend to keep mascara long after it is used and just throw old and new into the drawer.  Bad habit.
Because of the holiday, trash collection has been delayed until tomorrow.

One thing I do love about Colorado is the lack of humidity.  There are issues with that too, of course, but by and large I HATE humidity and don't miss it a bit!

I read too much about Kerrie but it definitely washed my eyes out.  I tend to cry too easily, sometimes it's embarrassing.  I'll tell Mike about something I read and my voice cracks and I can hardly get it out, even though I'm not talking about a major tragedy.  I rather hate that I do that.  Then we have stories like Kerries and I am wiped out.   I did watch some video but mostly just read.  I can imagine what it was like in Omaha with that coverage taking over all the networks all day and much of the previous days.  Like Columbine ~~ you all saw a bit about it on the evening news, but we had non-stop coverage all day, every day.  I wouldn't have wanted to NOT have had it, it would have seemed wrong to watch a sitcom when there was such suffering, but still, it's hard.   Like 911 or Kennedy's funeral.   You don't want to look away, but you can hardly bear to keep watching.

Oh, Lou Ann, the pictures are wonderful!  Bruce really should go officially professional as a second career.  He is so good!   Of course he does have pretty good "material" to work with.  ;-)   Thanks for sharing them!

Stay cool and have a good day!

Good Morning!

It's a little cooler today and rain is predicted.  It's still bright out, though cloudy, actually fairly nice to sit next to the window.  I hear the sounds of lawn mowers in the neighborhood, and our trash is out by the curb waiting to be picked up.  I did my ICD download the first thing this morning.  According to Always Right Mike, I will have at least another month of good battery life.
We'll see ;-)

I have some laundry to do and some budget book work and some stuff that needs doing on my laptop.  Nothing too exciting going on.

Just saw part of a cute ad.  Martin O'Malley who is set to declare his candidacy to run against Hillary in the Primary playing "Hail to the Chief" on the guitar.  Cute.  Apparently he is a guitarist and plays in an Irish band (or so they just told me on the news).  All I know about him otherwise is that he is to the Left of Hillary, so he's not likely to be my candidate.  Ha.

Have a Fabulous Friday!

RE:WELCOME TO MAY CHAT
(Date Posted:05/29/2015 8:07 PM)

OMG, I had forgotten I was not here last night.  We finally got together with the ladies and celebrated Carole's birthday, which was in March, lol. We ordered food from Ala Roma.  Carole, Gloria and I had Paninis.  They had Sausage Spinach and I had the milano which is eggplant.  I got rings and they were so limp that they were not enjoyable.  Gloria brought a birthday cake and I had a small piece.  So they were here till after 11. And once they were gone both mom and I were exhausted, you know how it is.

I think I told you that I had hit my foot again and it hurt like hell and I thought I had done in my little toe again.  Turns out I broke the toe next to it.  I was taking the little toe too it and it hurt like all heck to move it, so I thought Oh No!!!  Now it is all swollen and black and blue.  So I have to take it to the 3rd toe in, lol.  Mom said she needs to get me steel shoes...but I do not wear any shoes at home.  I hates wearing shoes.  My feet cannot breath.

I am happy to hear that your eyes are doing better.  I was a bit worried about that.  Throwing away all the old make up was a good idea.  Believe it or not, mascara is only supposed to be used for 3 months and then thrown away.  I thought that was ridiculous and costly.  I quit using makeup when I got shingles on my face and head.  And then seeing the specialist for about 2 years after I never could use it on the right eye so just never started wearing it again.  So I am just a plain Jane, lol.

I was home sick from grade school for Kennedy's funeral.  I really did not understand it all that well. I think I was in 2nd grade at the time.  I also remember hearing the Beatles on the radio and Nancy Sinatra singing These Boots Were Made for Walking.  It is funny what things stick in your head from certain times or events.

Bruce has always been a fantastic photographer.  He is a commercial artist and used to do his own photographs for some jobs.  And he worked on the side with a friend at her photography studio.  But then he ended up working for one company and it took all his time and then some.  So he gave it up. He used to develop his own photos, but not in a really long time.  I am glad he will be taking photos again.

I haven't a clue who Martin O'Malley is.  If he is running I better read up on him.  I need to be an educated voter.  It really is very hard for me, because I am conservative on some subjects and very liberal on others...no one ever agrees with all my "wants" in a President.  I just have to pick the things that are most important to me and let some things go.  But that is hard as I am passionate about my beliefs :)

Mid 70's and humid.  Most of the rain has missed us and so far none of the storms have hit us.  Thought we would get some today but it did not happen.  Temp is supposed to drop into low 60's the next few days.  I will enjoy that.

This tag was just a font challenge.

Love and Hugs,

Good Morning

A day without rain is like ~~~ very unusual in Colorado these days.  The afternoon rains would be fine, but we've been getting HAIL along with it, not too large or for too long, but long enough to do a bit of damage.  I think the new dahlias took a bit of a hit yesterday afternoon, not ruined but a bit battered.  Hateful Hail ~ Go away and don't come back another day!   Supposed to get up to the low 70s today and no rain predicted!

Yesterday morning I did my ICD (Implanted Cardiac Defibrillator) download, and in the afternoon I got a call from the Dr's office.  Ut-oh, thought I.  When all is well, they send a letter which I would get on Monday or Tuesday.  All WAS well, she was just telling me that the next download, which should be in a month ~ yay!, should be in the office instead of remotely.  They used to have me come in every third time, but since the battery is low and they have been having me do the downloads every month instead of every four months, I haven't been into the office actually for over a year.  So I made an appointment, and I won't complain.  They test the device by pacing your heart in addition to downloading the data, and it will give me a chance to talk to one of the new people who replaced the woman I've been going to all these years.

Better news ~~ the woman I talked to was just the scheduler and could give me no information on battery status or anything, though it was easy to assume all was well since the next appointment isn't for a month.  She said they would send the letter. Then I got an email telling me to go to the Web Site and I could see the appointment information, and when I nosed around I also saw the letter I will be getting, already stored on line.  I LOVE this!  Indeed no change in battery voltage and no incidents to report, and once again Always Right Mike was right.

Oooh, I do hear you about being tired after all your guests leave.  You want to get together with everyone and really enjoy them, BUT . . . lol.

OhMyGosh, your poor foot!  If you aren't careful, you're gonna run out of toes!  You and Mike!  He goes barefoot all the time too, and you should see the dry and cracked skin on his poor feet.  He looks like he's the victim of torture.  He also can't have his feet tucked in when he sleeps because "they need to breathe".  I've asked him to show me the noses or gills on his feet, but he just gives me "the look".  LOL  My feet are very happy encased in shoes, and they rarely get damaged.  I actually have trouble walking when my feet aren't in shoes or at least bedroom slippers.  The TM makes my feet feel like they turn up on the sides (they don't, but they feel like they do) sort of like a sideways rocking horse.  Definitely a problem for my balance.  I'm sure that isn't as strange as having toes with noses, though ~~ bwahahaaaa.

O'Malley is a nice looking man.  He tends to go shirtless fairly often like Putin.  Ha.  I did like what I saw of the commercial.  He played "Hail to the Chief" and the legend said something to imply an announcement was coming.  Clever, I thought.  He was or still is the Governor of Maryland.

Yesterday I saw that Bernie Sanders (the Independent/Socialist who is also running for President) said some really dumb things about men and women's sexual fantasys ~~ 40 years ago.  I mean PLEASE!  Tell me what he said last month and I'm interested, but 40 years ago?  Get a life!   Oooh, it's going to be a long time until November 2016.  smiley66

I was in Hawaii when Kennedy was shot, and back at home during the funeral.  I was a lot older of course, and too well aware of what had happened.  You wonder how you can produce so many tears.    On 911, I watched the Twin Towers fall with interest but without much passion, but I knew that as soon as they started to put human faces to these images of buildings, I was going to be in trouble, and of course I was.  Images of people looking for their spouses or parents or children, and I was wiped out and didn't quit crying for a week.  The realization of what it really meant for my country was a bit delayed in coming too, the outrage, but it came and with a vengeance.

Oh look at the pretty puppies!  So sweet. Thank you.

Have a happy day ~~ and put your shoes on! ;-)

Good Morning.

Though it looks overcast, we're supposed to get up to 82 degrees today, and 88 on Wednesday, and no rain ~ so hopefully no hail.  lol  If we had a pool, we could put it up and it would warm up quickly.  But we don't.  So we won't. ;-)

Hard to believe it's already June tomorrow.  We must be having fun, cuz the time really is flying!

Have a lovely day.
