Tra . . LA!   It's May!   The Lusty month of May (Camelot)

I just can't think May without hearing Julie Andrews singing about the Lusty Month of May.   lol

We were supposed to get up to 50 yesterday ~~ but we got to 70!   Beautiful sunshiney day ~ didn't we have a mini blizzard the day before??   There are still traces of snow, but it surely looks like May here.

I did get a fair amount of work done yesterday ~ for me, anyway, but it takes me 10 times longer to do the simplest things than it would take anyone else.   Sad.   I still have a lot to do to get ready for our company on Saturday.   Anyone else would do it all in a day, but it will take me all week and then I won't get it all done.   :-(

Please, PLEASE don't worry about responding to every comment I made while you were gone.  After a while I stopped posting just so you wouldn't feel you had to address every pearl of wisdom I uttered ~ LOL.   And . . . please, PLEASE don't think you have to make a new skin or sign in page or whatever.   You just need to concentrate on healing!

Love you much,

Good Morning!

OhMyGosh, I didn't expect you to come back and start WORKING!  Still, it is fun to see the new May Sign In.   Thank you!   It's so good to have you back!

I was getting a bit worried about you when I didn't see you either here or on Facebook, then I saw the darling picture of you, all smills, with your adorable gentleman caller!   Definitely made me feel better!

I got another decent night's sleep last night, wonder of wonders.  I got nearly 6 hours!  I'm beginning to have the horrible realization that I sleep better if I actually do some work or get some form of exercise during the day, rather than just sitting and playing on the computer or making cards!  Gasp!  That's certainly not good news!  LOL

I actually did get a few things done that didn't involve sitting yesterday, although they did involve a lot of whining.  Ha.  Not to worry.  There is still more left to do today.    (darn)

WELL, I WILL HAVE TO ADMIT THAT I JUST USED PAST MAY PAGES.  I DID NOT HAVE TIME TO COME UP WITH EVERYTHING.  THOUGH I HAD TO REMOVE THE WHITE BACKGROUND FROM 2 PICS TO CREATE THE GROUP HEADER.  THAT TOOK FOR EVER AND NOT I AM VERY LATE GETTING TO SLEEP.  BUT I HAD TO WRITE SOMETHING HERE FIRST.
YES, SWEET LIAM WAS QUITE ENTERTAINING.  HE THOUGHT THAT OLD FURBY OF MINE WAS AN OWL.  HE KEPT LOOKING AT ME AN SAYING LOULOU HAS OWL.  WE WERE LAUGHING SO HARD.  HE WAS FASCINATED BUT WOULD NOT TOUCH IT.  WE KEPT TELLING HIM IT WAS A TOY WITH BATTERIES AND ACTUALLY OPENED IT UP AND TOOK OUT THE BATTERIES.  THEN HE TOUCHED IT.  LOUANN AND BRUCE BROUGHT ME SUPPER.. BRATS, BAKED BEANS AND A BROCOLLI SALAD.  IT ALL WAS DELISH.  KIRSTIE AND LIAM TAGGED ALONG.  IT WAS FUN.
TODAY CHRIS CAME OVER TO HELP ME AND WE SORTED THROUGH ALL THE BAGS AND I FOUND ALL THE ITEMS THAT I COULD NOT FIND.  CHRIS DID UP THE DISHES, THOUGH THERE WAS HARDLY ANY,  SHE SAID BEST TO KEEP AHEAD OF THEM.  I REALLY APPRECIATED HER HELP.  THOUGH IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE APPRECIATED IF SHE HAD COME ON SAT.  LOUANN TOOK MY LAUNDRY AND DID IT FOR ME ALSO, WHICH CHRIS WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE DONE.ON SAT.  BUT I GUESS BETTER LATE THAN NEVER.  THE TRIP TO THE BATHROOM MAKES ME BREATHLESS AND I HATE THAT.  I HAVE TO DO THINGS A LITTLE AT A TIME, BUT THAT'S OK.
TIME TO HIT THE HEY.
LOVE YOU.
HUGS,

Rainy Days and Hump Days

It really was a pretty day yesterday, overcast in the morning, sunny in the afternoon, until late afternoon, then BANG!  The Heavens opened and there was so much thunder and lightening you might have thought you were in a war zone!   It was all over in about 15 minutes!     All was calm and peaceful until midnight, when once again Boom!  Bang! Flashes of light and pounding rain!   We wondered how we would be able to sleep through all the noise!   It finally quieted down, but the rain continued most of the night, and is still coming as we speak.    Unexpected, but welcome ~~ except that our sprinkler system went off on schedule this morning and we watered in the rain!  lol.   In our old house, we used to watch people do that but we were able to turn our sprinkler system off from inside the garage.  Now, it's halfway down the side of the house, on that darned rock and especially when it's dark or rainy, we can't get there from here.  Rather embarrassing, and definitely wasteful, but it is what it is..

Pretty Page Header ~ I actually like the pink and green, too, if you don't want to change things more.  ;-)

I'm so glad Louann and Bruce brought you a delicious sounding dinner and Kristie brought you Liam to play with!  What a cutie!    Also glad that Chris is trying to help you.   I really was worried about you being home alone, but I know I should not have been.   You have so many people who love you ~ including me.  ;-)

I am having some of the same issues, though thankfully not nearly as bad, in huffing and puffing when I walk a fairly short distance or try to do some actual work that should be easy for me. and then I get all that back pain that nearly brings me down when I bend and lean, as in reaching for anything below waist level.  I hate it for me, and I hate it for you!

smiley34

OH MY GOSH!  IT'S SNOWING!  Please, give me a break!!

smiley34

Have a really GOOD day!

I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THIS FRAME AND TAG.  I DID HAVE A GOOD DAY TODAY, THOUGH I GOT UP LATE AND BY THE TIME I WASHED UP IT WAS ALREADY NEAR LUNCH TIME.  I
HAD CHIPS AND COTTAGE CHEESE FOR LUNCH AND A VERY BIG SALAD FOR SUPPER.  BEFORE I GO TO BED I WILL HAVE SOME SHERBET.  IT IS DELISH!  IT IS TROPICAL AND IS T MIX OF COCONUT, MANGO AND PINEAPPLE WITH BITS OF COCONUT AND PINEAPPLE IN IT.  I LOVE IT.  SO REFRESHING.
NO CHRIS TODAY BUT LOUANN DID A LOT OF RUNNING FOR ME.  SHE WENT TO THE SLEEP STUDY CENTER TO GET THE PULSE OXIMETER THAT I HAVE TO WEAR TONIGHT SO THE DR CAN SEE IF I AM GETTING ENOUGH OXYGEN AT NIGHT.  THEN SHE RAN TO THE AGNESIAN HEALTH SHOPPE TO PICK UP MY WALKER.
TOMORROW I GO FOR MY INR.  I WILL GO SEE MOM AFTER.  SHE CALLS EVERY DAY TO SEE HOW I AM.  I THINK SHE THINKS I CANNOT TAKE CARE OF MYSELF.  GRANTED, IT IS NOT EASY BUT IT IS BETTER THAN BEING
IN THE REHAB CENTER.  IT REALLY WAS NOT THAT BAD.  BUT IF I EVER GO  BACK IT WILL BE UPSTAIRS IN A DOUBLE ROOM. I COULD NOT DEAL WITH THAT.
I WOULD RATHER GO TO THE HOSPICE HOPE WHEN MY TIME COMES.  SO THAT MY FAMILY DOES NOT HAVE TO CARE FOR ME, ESPECIALLY SINCE ALL MY FAMILY WORKS.  WE WILL SEE WHEN THE TIME COMES.
WELL I WAS LATE GETTING TO SLEEP LAST NIGHT AND I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE A HABIT OF THAT.  I AM WATCHING  MURDOCH.  SEASON 3 AND I DO NOT RECALL WHICH INDIVIDUAL NUMBER.NUMBER.  WHEN THIS ONE ENDS, I WILL PREPARE FOR BED. USE MY EYE DROP AND PUT ON THE PULSE OX AND GO TO BED,  LOUANN WILL PICK UP THE PULSE OX SET AND RETURN IT AT 10:45 TOMORROW AND RETURN IT.
I WILL CHAT WITH YOU TOMORROW.

RE:WELCOME TO MAY CHAT
(Date Posted:05/04/2017 9:26 AM)

Good Morning!

We're back to Springtime in the Rockies in beautiful Bi-Polar Colorado today.  When I wrote yesterday, big wet snowflakes were coming down at a serious pace.  By afternoon, the sun was out and you would never have known it had ever been anything but a lovely lazy semi-summer day!   I got the trash and recycle bins out to the curb and picked up the mail with no problems a'tall

We still have some things to do today to get ready for our company on Saturday afternoon, but we're close to being as ready as we can be, I think.   Tomorrow Shauna comes to clean the upstairs so we couldn't have asked for better timing.   She cleaned the Guest Suite in the basement during her last visit.  I need to go downstairs and inspect it today.  ;-)   Laine will be using the Morning Room ~ a.k.a. my Craft Room, so I had to not only put everything I had up in there away like I usually do, but to move the craft cart to the hall closet (after cleaning out the Hall Closet) so she can have closet space in her bedroom, and return everything on the table to the Library.  Yesterday  afternoon and I was in so much pain I wanted to scream.   It's that darned  bending and reaching that does it to me.   What I actually did was so simple  and so LITTLE.  It's really frustrating to have so much trouble doing so little.     If I could figure a way to never have to leave my ever expanding butt out of a  chair, I'd be fine.

We got a notice from Comcast, actually stuck to the front door, that they will be doing some upgrading in the neighborhood and we may be without service (cable or cell phone) tomorrow morning from 7AM until 2 PM.   I hope it's not longer than that.   Anyway, between Comcast and Shauna, you will not see my smiling face tomorrow morning.

I'm so glad that you are doing so well at home, and that your friends and family are really there for you.   I knew they would be, but it's still good to have it confirmed.

You need to stop talking like "the end is nigh, and in fact VERY nigh", y'heah!  My plate is too full of me, Me, ME right now, and I couldn't handle losing you, ok?!

Have a great day!

F'ing sh't!

My whole post is gone all because my fingers tripped on the keys.

what the heck was that.  Now I do not have the toolnbar across the bottom

or the top tab for adding tabs or closing.  This really sucks.

I will try again tomorrow.

I am not having such a good day today.  Seem to be having a problem breathing.  I have some congestion.  I will have to weigh myself tomorrow and see if there is any issue there.  I am just not up to par at all.

I hope you are having a good time and if by chance you read this say a little prayer for me.  It is scary when you cannot breath.
Love you sister of mine.

RE:WELCOME TO MAY CHAT
(Date Posted:05/09/2017 10:35 AM)

Good Morning.

I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well.  I'm not sure how I feel about your mom coming home ~~~ glad because I know you will both be happier when she is at home, but concerned because both of you are not doing well and can't really help each other, and knowing it is not good if she comes home too soon.   You will both be in my prayers!

You know how tired I get when Shauna comes?  That, my friend, is nuthin' compared to today!

Friday Shauna came AND so did Xfinity who started working in the neighborhood to connect the newly connected upgraded wires.  We were out of service for a couple of hours, but then the service kept going out, taking our TV and Internet with it.  I hoped I would be able to come in and talk for a bit on Saturday morning, but it wasn't possible, and our guests came Saturday afternoon.  After that, it's all a blur.  LOL

We had carry out for dinner from "The Schoolhouse Restaurant" and I think everyone liked what they had.  Then, because Bill's birthday is this coming Saturday, we had a birthday cake and I made a card for him.  He seemed to really like both.  We stayed up late visiting and watching tv.

THEN  . . around 3:30 AM, all H. broke out!  Our beloved smoke detector system woke us all up screaming "Fire!" and something else I couldn't distinguish and emitting that horrible piercing siren.  After a while it went off and since we could tell there was no fire, we went back to bed ~ for about 20 minutes when it went off again.  Then everyone was up and looking to us for guidance, which we couldn't give.  Remember we had all the batteries changed out in January with batteries that should last until December of 2026!  You couldn't even tell which detector was screaming at us, but we remembered when the blankety-blank thing went off every three minutes all night long until we could get John to come over and change it for us the next day.   Bill thought it was the detector in their bedroom in the basement because theirs said "Low Battery", so he changed that out and we all went back to bed ~~~ for another 20 minutes, until it went off again!   Then he decided it might be the one in their living room, which is a different model from the one in the bedroom, and he changed that out.  We confirmed that both changed out batteries were new ones.   After about half an hour, Mike and Laine went to bed, and Bill and I stayed up and talked until 6:30.  I just wasn't at all comfortable that the nightmare was over.    We went back to bed for a little while, but of course I couldn't sleep.  Luckily he could.   The rest of us had breakfast of Waffles that Mike made.

In the late afternoon everyone went to the Indian restaurant for dinner, but I felt even worse than I had on Friday so I begged off.   They brought me back some leftovers and everyone said the dinner was wonderful. I still have those leftovers to look forward to.  I was still very nervous that the d@&!#&  smoke detector would go off again, so I didn't sleep well.

Monday morning, Mike made cheesy scrambled egg croissants for breakfast and then Laine took off for Omaha.   It rained and threatened heavy rain, so in the early afternoon we went to Gaetaon's (that Italian Mafia restaurant we went to with Sue and John) for a late lunch.  It was really good and everyone enjoyed it.  We could tell it was likely to rain and Mike and I are slow, so Marianne and Mike and I left the restaurant to go across the street to where the car was parked and Bill stayed behind to pay the bill.   Marianne helped us into their rental Jeep and came around to the driver's side passenger door, but before she got there, it started to HAIL, big marble and sometimes golf ball sized hair and she got hit twice.  One bruised and broke the skin on her arm before she got into the car.   Safely inside the car, I have never heard anything so loud in all my life!  It sounded like we were in a tin box and someone was throwing baseballs at us at 100 mph!  It went on for a very long time, too!   Fortunately Bill was in the restaurant and could see what was happening so he waited until it was over to come to the car.   He said people were coming in who had been hit by hail and were dazed.     He worried that his rental car might be damaged, but it wasn't and we were very glad we had taken his car and not one of ours.

Again last night I worried about the blankety-blank smoke detector, but nothing happened.

We had ham and cheese croissants for breakfast and packed up some leftover croissants and cookies and other things for them to take in the car with them, and gave them a cooler and freezer packs to take their pop and leftovers.  Bill brought all the laundry up from the basement so all I have to do is wash it and give it to Shauna to take back downstairs and make the bed and put up the towels so we're ready for the next company to come, whenever that may be.

It was a good visit ~~~ we didn't talk politics (LOL) and I think we all had a good time.   Now, we are seriously whipped and Marianne and Bill are on their way to Omaha to go out to dinner with laine before going on to Davenport and then Chicago to celebrate his birthday and Mother's Day with Bill's mom and his family in the area.

Mike just talked to the guy who installed the batteries for us in January, and I think we will go ahead and replace all of the actual smoke detectors too, sometime soon.   Apparently they are only good for six or seven years and the house is six years old and some of them were probably on Dave and Matt's shelf for a few years before that.   How I wish we had an OLD house with smoke detectors you could turn off with a broom handle when the batteries start to go!

Later, my lovely.   Feel better!

RE:WELCOME TO MAY CHAT
(Date Posted:05/10/2017 10:30 AM)

Hello. Happy Hump Day.

I'm still tired, and it's still raining, though really only showers, they are expected to last all day.  Supposedly we'll only get to the mid-50s today.  As long as we don't get any more hail!  While I don't see any damage here, I guarantee you that within days we'll have all those people coming to the door wanting to inspect the roof for us.  Sounds good BUT, I guarantee if they go on the roof they will determine that our roof was heavily damaged and needs to be replaced ~ and they can offer us a really good price and work with our insurance company.   I, tending toward being a Conspiracy Theorist, will be very skeptical and say "No thank you".   In other words ~ Here we go again.  Ha.

I don't think we got any real hail damage, thank God, but I've seen many pictures of homes and cars in Arvada that really were damaged badly.  I would expect it was even worse farther South.   smiley96

Tomorrow morning we have a guy coming out to add stuffing to our leather chairs, which are feeling the effects of being sat on by fat people with Lap tops on their laps!   I hope it helps.    Anyway, I may ~ or may not ~ be late again.   Will I ever catch up?   Who knows!  lol

I hope you are feeling a bit better today.  I'm having breathing problems too, not as bad as yours of course, but bad enough that I can be empathetic.  I feel fine while I'm sitting, but when I get up and walk six feet everything starts to hurt and I huff and puff like a steam engine.  Ugh.

Love you!

OMG, HOLY FIRE ALARM BATMAN!!  WHAT A HORRID WAY TO SPEND THE NIGHT.  I WOULD BE AFRAID TO LET MYSELF GO TO SLEEP ALSO.  WHAT A DAMPER THAT HAD TO HAVE PUT ON THE NEXT DAY FOR YOU.  BUT AT LEAST YOU SEEM TO HAVE A GOOD VISIT ALL IN ALL.
I DID NOT FEEL WELL FOR A FEW DAYS AND I WAS SURE I RAN A TEMP FOR ABOUT 24 HOURS. THEN I DISCOVERED THAT MY ABDOMEN WAS QUITE RED. SO ONCE THE ROOM WAS DARK I LIFTED UP MY GOWN AND EXPOSED MY SKIN TO THE AIR.  I ALMOST INSTANTLY FELT BETTER AS THE AREA COOLED DOWN...I HAD THE FAN ON.  I FEEL BETTER TODAY.
MOM WAS TO COME HOME TODAY BUT NO ONE SEEMED TO  BE AVAILABLE TO ARRANGE THE HOME OXYGEN FOR HERE.  IT IS GOING TO BE DIFFICULT FOR US TO WATCH OUT FOR 2 SETS OF O2 TUBING ALL OVER.  ALSO ANOTHER CONCENTRATER AND MACHINE THAT WILL FILL HER TANKS AS I ASSUME THAT IS WHAT SHE WANTS TO DO.  SO SHE WILL BE COMING HOME TOMORROW NIGHT. SHE IS OFFICIALLY GONE AT 11.  MY SISTER SUZ BROUGHT A LOT HOME TONIGHT AND PUT IT ALL IN HER BEDROOM.  THEY WILL PICK MOM UP AND
TAKE HER TO THE MOTHERS AND OTHERS BANQUET AT CHURCH AND THEN BRING HER HOME.  SO WE SHOULD BE TOGETHER AGAIN TOMORROW NIGHT.  OOPS, PAST MY BED TIME.  CHAT WITH YOU TOMORROW MY SWEET.  HUGS,

Good Morning, my Pretty.

It was raining yesterday afternoon and evening so we didn't get the trash to the curb, so I got up early and got dressed and got it out before the trash haulers came.  Then since I was already dressed, I went ahead and put make up on and did my hair and made the bed and now here I am.  The guy coming to work on the chairs won't be here until 10 AM, so I get to come in and have my coffee with you.  I wasn't sure I would.

No rain predicted today, and we should get to the mid-60s.  Nice.

I must have gotten up to go to the bathroom six times last night!  I went back to sleep each time, but I'm still tuckered out.

Laughing @ your "Holy Fire Alarm, Batman!"  LOL   Marianne was convinced that their brother Tom set the alarm off at 3:30 AM (and multiple times afterwards).  Apparently spirits do things with batteries and that is the time they are active.  She felt that since we were all together including Laine, he was playing tricks on us ~~ LOL.  If that's the case, I'm glad they are all gone!  ha

I wondered if you weren't feeling bad, and hoped it would be short lived if you were.   Obviously you were running a temp, and I'm glad you were able to cool off!

I'm trying to picture your place with all the oxygen and tubing ~ it sounds challenging to say the least.  You'll both have to be really careful not to get tripped up and fall.  Bad normally, but after your mom's last fall and not completely back to normal yet, it could be disastrous. I'll be praying for you both.

The good news is that she will be home today!    Sending prayers and happy thoughts!
