NEW MESSAGE FROM ANNNIEM

Hi Lou Ann

I came to cuppa and I was going to visit but the name and password I remember didn't work, so I couldn't.  I did read the last page, and the baby that you had your picture with was just so tiny!  How precious!  It was like I hadn't ever left, except for the fact that I couldn't get in to post.  It just felt like home!  I will have Missy put my headsets on every afternoon when she leaves.  The pair that I had in the sun porch got run over, and they are busted.  It looks like someone just cut the cord!  Anyway…  Hi to you and Dorothy and I will figure out how to do this!

Love,
annnieM

RE:WELCOME TO MAY
(Date Posted:05/01/2014 6:59 AM)

Traaa-LA!  It's May!  The Lusty Month of May. . . . .
(is anyone else hearing the music of Camelot?)

Marcela was here yesterday so the house is clean, and we did get a load of whites washed, but I have yet to fold them.  Not much else accomplished, and yet once again I'm tired.   And depressed!   Last night was game 7 in the Stanley Cup (Hockey) play-offs.  The Avalanche scored first ~ then Minnesota tied us.  Then The Avs scored again ~ and Minnesota came back to tie.  It went like that until the game ended at 4-4 and went into overtime ~~ where Minnesota won, and the season is over for us.
  Now that's just sad.

We're going to go out for lunch today. Other than that, not much planned.    As of yesterday, my last two prescriptions hadn't been issued.  I'm probably going to have to start calling and talking to the recordings again  ~~ sigh.

We've been having fits with our Internet connection for the last two days.  Sometimes, like now, it's just fine.  Then all of a sudden it will go into the Page not found mode ~ and not just for Aimoo, but for everything.   I'd better post fast and keep my fingers crossed!

Lou Ann, wonderful May page ~~ as always!   Thank you so much!
I question "Arthritis Awareness Month" ~~ It seems to me like someone with arthritis is never UN-aware.  Ha.
This should be a fun month since it's Lou Ann month.

Today is May Day ~ Do you remember making and receiving May Baskets?   I have to say, I don't think I ever danced around a May Pole.
It's also the National Day of Prayer ~ now that's something our country can definitely use.

AnnnieM ~~ what a treat to see you!   I wish I could help with the password situation.  That's one of my greatest frustrations, trying to remember all the different passwords we have to have.  I hope it comes to you, and I hope you CAN get in and read and post.  We have missed you like crazy!

Have a happy day, dear friends.

RE:WELCOME TO MAY
(Date Posted:05/01/2014 8:39 PM)

Hello Dorothy

Sorry about the Avalanche losing. I do not know what sucks more, losing by a point or being slaughtered. Sounds like a good game. Since we are talking sports...what do you think about the Donald Sterling and the Clippers and what they have done about his actions? Honestly, how has he lasted this long thinking like he does? He must have expressed his views to others before this. It is disgusting that there are so many people that still think like this. The man is an ass!

Where did you go for lunch and did you get your pills straightened out??  I too was having that "Page not found" problem a couple weeks ago and I had to keep resetting our internet modem and then the router and then the computer and lap top and the iPads.  It was ridiculous.

Yesterday was fun...but it exhausted me.  Nan picked me up at 9:30am and away we went.  Louann greeted us with Monkey Bread....yum.  After we had out snack, she cut Nan's and my hair. I went short and am contemplating a perm. My hair is so thin on top and at the front, that I cannot stand looking at it.  I am thinking that if it is curly you might not be able to see so much scalp. She took off about 5 inches. Then we got down to doing crafts. Nan was knitting, I was crocheting, Louann was painting and poor Bruce was paying church bills.  My pattern was a disaster.  It made no sense.  Bruce saw that there were steps missing. So I went online, found the pattern and sure enough 3 steps did not print. So we reprinted it. But then when I got to step 6 it was so wrong and none of us could figure out what the writer was thinking. It had to be an error. So I had to figure out what to do on my own. I managed but it took up a lot of my time. And Kristie and Liam came out and spent the day with us so there was good baby time. We ordered Chinese and Louann and Nan went to get it. I got an egg roll and Four Seasons which is pork, beef, chicken and shrimp with vegetable in a brown sauce. It was good, but it was even better today and I have enough for lunch tomorrow. We were going to have our left overs for supper, but Louann said she bought cheese and was planning on making grilled cheese with apple. So when supper time came I opted for that and it was wonderful. She had a wonderful thick cheddar and thin slices of apples and then grilled them. Delicious...I loved it. Kirstie, Louann and I had that. Nan had been munching and passed. Bruce make himself a couple of brats. Then Louann made Hot Fudge Sundaes. Kirstie had brought us all a See's Bordeau and it was Heaven in my mouth. They are to die for. We turned the TV on at 7 (we had it off all day) and watched Idol. Then at 9 when it was over we went home. The rough thing was that I forgot to bring the plugin for my oxygen. So after about an hour I shut it off so I would have it to go home on. All the steps and getting in and out of vehicles does me in breathing wise. I did ok, my blood oxygen was between 88 and 92. Kirstie said if it dropped lower than 88 for any length of time she would be concerned but that for someone with COPD, those numbers were norm without oxygen. Kirstie is an RN at our Hospital. She is an awesome mother, especially for it being her first. So knowledgable. And not obsessive at all. Liam gets doggy brother kisses from Cooper and pacifiers that have dropped on the floor go back in his mouth after a quick wipe. I love it. He was fussy though so we got to do a lot of holding and rocking to comfort him. He was much happier after he pooped, lol. The only problem is that today I have been exhausted and having to fight to stay awake.  I will tackle the Skin tomorrow. I am going to be in bed by midnight tonight. Hopefully tomorrow I will be more chipper.  We decided we are going to do this once a month. That makes me very happy. I love being with them and doing something productive and I think mom and I can use the time apart :)  I tried to take a selfie of Liam and I withe my iPad and it did not work very well. I could not hold it out and get the right angle and take the pic very well one handed and had Liam in the other hand. Once I figure out how to get it here from there I will show you. Oh, I can post it on facebook from the iPad and then get it to the computer from there.

Hoping we will soon be hearing from annnieM. There should be a password recovery system in Aimoo. I hope she gets it all figured out.  I want to hear how she is doing and what she is doing. And everything else.

Have an awesome Friday ladies!!

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO MAY
(Date Posted:05/02/2014 8:47 AM)

It really has been almost like a work week.  TGIF!  How 'bout you?

Yesterday I did get a surprising amount done ~~ for Me. (ha!)   I folded laundry, brought in the trash can, got the mail, transferred first-of-the-month funds and balanced the check books.

Then I checked the online Pharmacy and saw that nothing had been done yet, I called my Dr's office yet again.  I listened to the greeting, location, entrance number (it's part of the hospital) fax number, hours of operation, what to do if I was experiencing an emergency and half a dozen other things I didn't need to know before they told me that I should push "1" if I'd like to hear the message again.  If I had a gun with the ability for the bullet to travel through the airwaves and blow up their telephone entry system, I don't think I could be trusted not to use it.

Once the indeterminable message was over, I reached a real human being and told her about my missing two prescriptions ~ again.  (I really should just say "Hello. My date of birth is . .  ").  She told me all 5 had been sent, I said "I know but . ." (I won't bore you with the rest of the repetitions).  She said she would turn it over to the technical dept (or something like that).  In an hour or so I received a call from "Anne", a very friendly lady with a pretty accent.  I told her my story again, she repeated that all 5 had been sent (blah, blah, blah) and then she asked if she should just resend the missing two or if I'd like her to call them.  I very gratefully asked if she would mind calling and straightening it out, and she said she would.  By late afternoon, my online Pharmacy showed the missing two prescriptions in Processing Status.  The other three were shipped yesterday.

I do have a couple of months of prescriptions left ~ they send three months at a time ~ so I wasn't in panic mode, and I shouldn't have to go through this again for a year, since the prescriptions carry 3 refills.  Good thing or I'd need to increase the BP meds!  Ha.

Aren't you glad I shared all of this with you?   What?!  You skipped over the last two long paragraphs?!!  Well, I don't blame you one little bit.  I rather wish I could have skipped over them, and all that lead to them, myself.

smiley76

Mike had a fun morning, too.  We'd forgotten to take the trash out, and I remembered it just in time, minutes before they got here.  He was dressed and I was not, so he got the duty.  Then after two days of really poor Internet service he finally called Comcast.  He spent well over an hour on the phone with them, connecting and reconnecting various things, but at least he got someone who actually knew what he was doing to work with.  Bottom line seems to be that the signal strength from wherever to our house is poor.  A tech will be out to look at it between 10 and noon today.  So far everything is working fine since Mike played with the equipment, but since they can see that the signal strength is low it will be best to let him come.

Since poor Mike had worked on this stuff all morning I asked him if he wouldn't just as soon skip going out for lunch and he thought that was a fine idea.  We may go for an early dinner tonight.

We went looking for a movie to watch last night and Mike came up with a British series I gave him a few years ago called "The Bonekickers", about archeologist dealing with frequently mystical artifacts.  Rather fun, but I fell asleep!  Sheesh!  The star is Hugh Bonneville ~ who now plays the Lord of the Manor in Downton Abby.  I wish you could see him ~ definitely not very 'Lordly' in this series.

It was warm and breezy yesterday, but not, Thank God, so awfully windy.  Should be in the high 70's for a few days now, with no bad winds predicted.  Lovely.   I saw some of the footage about the fires in Southern Ca ~ how horrible.   Hateful winds.

Ok. Definitely TMI from me today, though I do have more I could 'share' (evil cackle).  I'll be quieter tomorrow. LOL

smiley21

Lou Ann, would you be willing to share that sky with clouds tile?  It makes such a beautiful background.

I agree, it's a wonder that Donald Sterling has lasted this long, and in sports no less, with that attitude.  It's very clear that everyone knew what he was like and no one (except those of us who had never heard of him before) was surprised by anything he said.  I read this morning that the NAACP admitted that they had kept quiet because of the large donations he made to them.  Kind of hard to be offended at this late date just because his bigotry has been made public.

I'm actually more concerned about the fact that action was taken ~ again, when everyone has clearly known about him forever ~ based on a private conversation with his gold digger mistress.  If he'd made public statements, that's one thing, but to have action taken based on a private conversation is kind of scary to me.  It seems the First Amendment is getting very choosy on what it protects.  It's ok to burn or pee on the American Flag, that's free speech.  It's ok for a Nazi Skinhead group to march through a Jewish neighborhood in Illinois with swastika flags ~ again free speech, never mind how intimidating or threatening.  But if someone makes hateful remarks about people of color in a private conversation, it's no longer free speech.   Worrisome.

Your day really did sound like fun ~~ and exhausting!   What a great idea for a group of friends to get together to work on individual projects together, and what great food your friends always seem to prepare!  All that and time with Liam, too.  All in all, a lovely day!

I have no idea how to recapture or reset passwords in Aimoo ~ and that's worrisome, too.  Fingers crossed that our annnieM can remember hers!

 smiley21

Have a Fabulous Friday!

Love you bunches.

Hello Dorothy
Happy to hear you got your prescriptions straightened out and your internet.  Sounds as if you had a very busy day.  Here is the sky tile you wanted.  I love it.  Works great in so many backgrounds.

I know what you mean....the same sort of things happened with Dog, The Bounty Hunter.  He used the N word while talking to a son that was mad at him so he released the conversation.  I think that people should be able to expect some privacy when talking to someone on a personal matter.  It really bothers me that even NAACP knew his thoughts but said nothing  because of the money.  So his "Business" associate (the gold digger mistress) when losing her cash cow and was being sued, got back at him my releasing the tape.  Even though everyone around him knew what he thought about blacks, they all just ignored it because of his power and money.  But then the world hears those words and they are all jumping on the bandwagon to take him down.  The man is hideous, but at the same time I do feel a bit sorry for him.  But not a lot.
I worked on the skin, but still have to change the icons.  For some reason I cannot find the connecting cord for my external hard drive to access my Gorjuss tubes.  I want to use parts of the scrap I used for the header as icons.  I just had it a few days ago.  I do not even know why it is not still attached to the hard drive.
Well, I am off to sleep and plan on sleeping in :)  Mom is going to a quarterly meeting for TOPS and leaving at 8am.  So I can sleep till 9 or so.  Have a lovely weekend.
Love,

Derby Day. Ready for the Run for the Roses?

I don't think I am.  I did get the hat but I didn't decorate it, and I'm having some problems that I suspect will make it too hard to go to the party this afternoon.  Pity, I would have enjoyed it but you can only do what you can do.  Who knows.  Maybe I'll feel better by afternoon.  Maybe not.  If I do go, I promise not to wear "the hat" with a sweatshirt and jeans. smiley62  I have black slacks and blouse with a sheer jacket with roses to go over it.  Now if I could just walk like a person. Ha.

We went t the Bonefish for dinner last night and I tried some new things.  I had a strawberry salad (spinach, strawberries, slivered almonds) and lobster stuffed shrimp ~ delicious.   Mike had fish and chips.

smiley2

Oooh, look at the gorgeous ~ or make that Gorjuss new page!  Your header is absolutely spectacular!  Beautiful job ~ Thank you.

Thank you also for the tile!

I don't necessarily feel sorry for Sterling.  He is what he is, and just because he's gotten by with it for 80 years doesn't justify it.  I understand that things were different when he was young, perhaps in his part of the country (not in mine), and it annoys me when people rewrite history and are shocked that the attitudes were different decades ago and 'nail' people for having the attitudes that were considered acceptable in their circles then.  Don't nail him for what he said 50 years ago, but by now he has had ample opportunity to re-evaluate.

What worries me is the invasion of private conversations and making things said in private a 'crime'. I'm sure he's made the same kinds of statements in a public forum and that's fair game.  Still, how hypocritical to "suddenly" be offended by something you have been aware of for decades.  Pul-eeze.

It also bothers me how some (like Eric Holder) are playing the race card to say that any criticism of policies we find unacceptable is "racist".  That's infuriating!   Funny how they never have a problem with someone saying awful things about  conservative blacks ~ personal things, not just attacks on their policies.  I personally would be thrilled with having a black president, if his name was Dr Ben Carson.   Oooh, sorry.  Somebody pushed my hot button ~ LOL

Hope you enjoyed your Sleep-In.

Have a Swell Saturday.

Hello Dorothy, darn, still no annnieM.  I had hoped she had worked out the password problem.  Hope she does soon.  Love the hat, you can rock one!!  Was this a derby party you were invited to?  I hope you managed to go.  It sounds like it would be fun.  Ooohhh, what you had at the Bonefish sounds wonderful.  Louann has made a spinach and strawberry salad before and it was delicious.

I guess I really do not feel bad for Sterling at all. But it makes me angry that so many people let him get away with it all these years just because he's rich. Isn't it funny what you can overlook when money is involved? Now suddenly everyone is so righteously outraged and insulted.  I do hope all the fines stay put and that he is forced to sell the team...then he can be even richer.  On the view Whoopie Goldberg said she put a bid in on the team, though she did not say how much.  I am not sure that was true and that I might of missed part of the conversation.

I did not sleep in the morning.  I was wide awake at 7:30. Mom went off to her meeting and I was putzing on my iPad.  Then I thought...I could be watching Criminal Minds on On Demand since mom was not home.  I watched 3 episodes.  Then Suz and Jerry stopped in and said that since mom is not here would I like Taco John's for lunch!  Yes ma'am. lol.  I had the Potato Ole Grande.  I love it.  Then for supper our neighbor shared a pasta dish she had made.  It had several pastas...one was linguine and sausage and vegetables.  It was very good.  So no cooking today.  We have not done much cooking at all the week.  Finishing up leftovers and take out, etc.

Tomorrow I am going to work on bill paying.  I got a bill for about $250 from the hospital and if that is all I have to pay for my hospital stay then I am a happy camper.

Have a blessed Sunday.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO MAY
(Date Posted:05/04/2014 8:10 AM)

I don't care!  I need my coffee NOW!

Good Morning.  Happy Sunday.

I didn't start feeling better yesterday until after I had let Sue know that we wouldn't be able to attend the Kentucky Derby party.  Figures.  Sue sent a nice note and We did watch everyone come, all the ladies in their great hats, and afterwards Sherri (who used to live across the street) came over to check on us.

She was decked out in the cutest outfit!  While I had never heard of a Kentucky Derby Party before this, apparently she has been invited to many Kentucky Derby parties and her son bought her that outfit to wear.  It consisted of a pretty beige and black dress, a black tipped white feather BOA and a wonderful flower bedecked floppy hat ~ plus jewelry.  Too cute!  She came carrying a glass of water because she said she had had two KILLER Mint Juleps.  lol

Dee sent pictures she had taken at the party and I saved them all and posted them here for you to see the hats.   I'm really sorry we missed it.  Sherri said they all thought they should have a different Theme party every month!  Oh, great.  Eleven more parties for me to have to miss each month!  Ack!

Vi's house next door is already under contract!  It's been listed for less than two weeks.  I'm so happy for vi and her family.  Hope the new neighbors are nice.

They turned on the Sprinkler System a few weeks ago and lawns around us are greening up.   Ours is not and we've never heard water running, or seen wet pavement, though it would be in the wee hours and perhaps we wouldn't hear or see it.   Yesterday Mike sent Bill (HOA) an email asking if the system really had been turned on or not because we didn't see any evidence of it, and we're concerned that our lawn isn't greening up.  Bill came over and saw that it was leaking and went home and got tools and a new O-Ring to replace.  He really shouldn't have to work with this stuff, but he enjoys it so he does.  We wouldn't know who to call in the company the HOA hires.  Anyway, he tinkered with it for a while and ran the system in all quadrants to be sure it was working, but said that he couldn't tell what times it was set for because something was wrong with the timer thingy.   He said several other houses had had the same problem and so had he.  Running it might have fixed it, otherwise he would call the company that installed the timer systems on Monday.   He said he was glad Mike called and that he suspected others in the neighborhood had the same problems but just didn't know it yet.

We haven't heard from the folks who were supposed to replace our lilac bushes this last week or next, either, so on Monday Mike will call them.  Once they are done I can call and get the carpets and couch in the front room shampoo'd.   I don't want all the trucks trying to park in the same spots at the same time, so I'm waiting until the outside stuff is done.

AND the saga of the prescriptions continues.   I got the first three yesterday, earlier than expected.  I checked them and two of them have three refills just as the Dr's office said they would.  The Warfarin has NO refills. Again! Aarrgghh.   I'll wait until I get the last two prescriptions to see if they are wrong or not and then see if I want to wait until the three months of Warfarin runs out, or just go ahead and Pitch a Fit now.  Honestly, the fun just never ends!

Oh, dear.  And I had promised you all a short sign in today!  Well, maybe tomorrow.  Or not.  lol

Lou Ann, we're going to be in the 80's today, with no rain and only 3mph winds!  Wowzers!   I wonder how long that will last.

I'm still so impressed with your awesome header and page!

I'm disappointed too, not to see annnieM back.  I wish I had a clue what to do about missing passwords.  I'll go snoop around the Help Group and see if anything has been said there.  She can't be the first person to misplace a password ~ I'm always having to reset them in other places.  Hateful things ~ can't live with them and can't live without them.

I'm sorry you couldn't sleep in yesterday, but how kewl that you got to watch three episodes of Criminal Minds AND that you got to go to Taco John's for lunch!

I need to work on budget also.  I did get the basic transfers and check book balancing done, but I still need to transfer money from our account to my account for things that I charged for us, and then (probably not today) I will need to update the budget book.

Ooh, I hope the $250 really is all you have to pay for  your hospital stay!  Fingers crossed for you!

Have a Swell Sunday!

Hello Dorothy.

That Derby Party looks as if it was a lot of fun. I am sure if you had gone you would have had a great time. I see people sitting so that would have been ok. I am sorry you were not feeling well and unable to go. I think you are a lot like me,,,you worry about the situation so much you make yourself sick...I am convinced I do this to myself. I like your red hat better than I most cf the hats being worn. Though a couple of them are real beauties. I did notice the woman with the spectacular hat and boa. I would want a big black and white hat like Eliza Doolittle wore to the races. I loved her outfit. I have the Barbie that is of her wearing the gown to the Embassy Ball. One of my favorite movies.

The Anticoagulation Center will only order my warfarin for 3 months at a time, because you never know when you might have to change it. They will not order it for longer than that. It may be that way with yours too.

It is a good thing that Mike went ahead and asked about the sprinkler system. You would think that checking them should be something they check in the Spring for everyone. After a cold freezing winter, they should be checking for pipes that may have froze or whatever. Should be a part of Spring Maintenance.

I was a slacker and only paid the basic bills and moms. Tomorrow I will do mine. I was naughty and watched another episode of Criminal Minds instead. I only have 1 left and I am caught up. I need to make time to work on my cocoon for Rissa's baby shower. Have not touched it since Wed. when we were together. The shower is this month so I had better get a move on it. I think I am supposed to get my blood checked this week.  Bad timing as I have had a lot of broccoli and there was a lot of it in my Chinese and I ate it 3 days in a row...plus green on another night. I do not think I need to go till Tuesday but the tech said sometime this week...so I may push it toward the end and eat no greens until then.

Well, I hope we hear something about Mary Ann soon and that annnieM is able to find her way back into the group.  Have a marvelous Monday.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO MAY
(Date Posted:05/05/2014 9:13 AM)

It's Monday.  Are you ready for another week?

We had a quiet day yesterday.  In the afternoon, Lisa came over with my Norwex delivery and we visited for a little. I won two prizes at her Earth Day party even though I didn't attend in person.  One was a scrubby cloth which looks like it will be really good for pots and pans and maybe even the tile grout in the shower.  The other is a folding mat which when opened up speeds drying of glassware and such.  Nice.

She and Richard must have arrived at the Ky Derby party too late to be included in the photos, but she, too, commented on the strength of the Mint Juleps (Richard had a beer ~ lol) and said what a fun party it was.

We went for a little ride after she left and mailed some birthday card and bills.  Back at home, we shared a glass of Barefoot Zinfandel.  The Barefoot wines are cheap and some of them are pretty good.  The Zin reminded me of Mogen David.  Probably won't be buying that again.  Ha. Still, after the first few sips it was ok.  Mike made hamburgers for dinner ~ I can't remember the last time I had a hamburger.  It was really good.  We watched The Good Wife and then Mr Selfridge on Masterpiece Theater and then Blechly Circle.

Honestly, do you KNOW anyone more exciting than we are?  LOL

smiley71

Ever since the first invitation to the Ky Derby Party came, I've "heard" ~~  "Every Duke and Earl and Peer is Heah.  Every one who should be heah is heah.  What a smashing, positively dashing spectacle, the Ascot Opening Day"   LOL

I just had to share the pictures to give you a flavor of our neighborhood and let you see the hats.  I still haven't found out who won for best and most creative hat.  They were all great.  I really liked Margie's purple hat, too.

I've begun to think you may be right and OptimRx won't allow renewals of Warfarin.  Thing is, I've had the same prescription for YEARS, and I just cut different amounts of pills to accommodate changes.  This should be my Dr's decision, not a pharmacy's.  I will wait until I see if the other two prescriptions are right, but then I am going to call OptimRx and see what is going on with the Warfarin ~ and maybe tell them how much more I enjoyed having Medco.  Guess that depends on how testy I'm feeling at the time.  Ha!   It probably wouldn't raise my BP so much if I didn't have to wade through those infernal recordings at BOTH locations before I can talk to a human being.

Honestly lately it's as if we have been under attack, with nothing working as it should and having to practically pull teeth to get anything done.   Then when I turned on my laptop this morning, my mouse moved so slowly it wasn't functional.  I rebooted, and checked the track-ball mouse settings, and couldn't make it work, so I had to call Tech Support.  Poor Mike.  He does so much for me it's a wonder he doesn't just boot me out the door.  He found that I had a bazillion Malware viruses.  I don't know how that happens.  My Kaspersky security is supposed to work behind the scenes and it's always popping up to tell me that it is, and I also periodically run a little Malware program I have ~ though obviously not often enough.  It didn't even occur to me that could be the problem with my mouse.    Anyway my Tech got me up and running again, bless him.

Good luck with your blood test!!

RE:WELCOME TO MAY
(Date Posted:05/05/2014 10:02 PM)

Naughty me.  I got sidetracked today and never did do the

bills and checkbook.  Tomorrow I will have to do it before I

do anything else.  I do not want to be late on anything.  It is

bad enough that because I am paying extra bills my checking

account keeps dropping  below $200 I am having to pay a

service charge...Damn.  I have better things to do with $7.

Like having A&W, lol.  Today was sunshiney and in the low

50's.  A little warmer and I can sit out on the porch.

Jordan was formally charged with 3rd degree sexual assault

last week.  His next court appearance is in July which is

where they can settle with a plea deal or whatever.  If that

does not happen, then his jury trial is in August.  Nothing

quick about justice at all.  What a shame we have so much

crime.  Why can't people just respect each other and obey

the laws?  It is so very depressing watching and reading the

news.  The only law I ever repeatedly broke was that in my

20's I smoked pot now and then.  If it were legal here...I

would probably do it now and then.  We always had such a

good time.  We would sit and listen to Cheech and Chong on

a comedy album.  We always had lots of food and we laughed

ourselves silly.  Only one time did I smoke alone and it did

nothing for me.  I think we would have laughed just as hard

and ate just as much without the pot. lol.  But I would try it

again if it were legal...just saying, haha.

Still no annnieM and no word on Mary Ann.  I wonder if

annnieM still has the phone number for Marian.  I think she

had it the last time Mary Ann was in the hospital.

I have to go back and look at the hats again and see the

purple one...I think I remember it.  Hamburgers are comfort

food to me and I love them.  I could eat them several times a

week.  We usually have them once a week.  You are so lucky

to have a live in computer tech, lol.  Everyone should have one.

Well, time to get off the computer and relax a bit.  Have a

 great Tuesday.

Hugs,

PS....I do not get the significance of your tag?  Roll on tomorrow, a crying face, some animal and a cat...I do not get it, lol.

RE:WELCOME TO MAY
(Date Posted:05/06/2014 11:34 AM)

Good Morning.  I slept well and got up and dressed early, and then spent too much time on emails and Facebook and other stuff, so here I am, late-ish.  I had a do-nothing day yesterday.  In fact, I slept most of the day!   Not intentionally, I just couldn't seem to stay awake.  By late afternoon I was finally 'perky' again but I feared I wouldn't be able to sleep.  Fortunately I was wrong, and I got six whole hours of sleep.  Wonderful!

Yesterday's news ~ Mike called the folks who were supposed to put in the lilac bushes last week or this week, and (surprise, surprise) they are too busy because of Mother's Day and she'll call us (so she says) on Monday and schedule us.  I just love when everyone else line jumps ahead of us.  I think that's at least half of my issue with Amnesty.  Those who have played by the rules and applied to come to America are pushed back and back and back to accommodate the line jumpers.  Of course that's only half or less or my issues with Amnesty....

Anyway, we're back on hold.  I did get my other two prescriptions yesterday and both have three refills.  They also came VERY quickly.  Possibly because the Warfarin is monitored via the blood tests and could be changed, they are changing the prescription from my Cardiologist's office to eliminate the refills.  Since I've been on the same prescription for years and years, I don't find that acceptable and I Will be having a talk with them ~ and letting them know why I miss Medco.

Even more important ~~ Jack is back!   For the next 10 or 11 weeks, we are safe from terrorists and evil corrupt politicians!     Jack Bauer ~~ 24!       Castle was good, too.  Next week the season finale ~ and maybe a wedding.

You seem calm about Jordan's court day.  Do you have hopes that it won't go badly?  I'd so hate to see him being permanently labeled as a sex offender.

I never broke the law either.  I was always a ridiculously "good girl" ~ Chicken, actually.  ha.   I may be the only person anywhere who hasn't tried Pot, and it's legal here.

It would be so good if we could call Marian and find out about Mary Ann.  I hate not knowing.

Have a great day!

Hello Dorothy

You know it really seems as if everything in your life is happening the hard way and not without a lot of effort on your part.  I think you need to get an exorcist or something to come and free you and Mike from this curse or whatever it is, lol.

I did do the bills today.  Good thing too as my credit card was due today.  Boy...I am really having to rob Peter to pay Paul.  I did still manage to make a credit card payment that was over the minimum and make a substantial payment on the hospital bill.  As long as I make payments they are really good about it.  Once I have them paid off I can go back to putting it on my credit card.  I am happy with this and not freaking at all.  Though I have not seen a bill for that damn sleep study yet.  Oh well, all things in their time.

I will write annnieM and ask her if she has a number for Marian.  We found a way last time and hopefully we can find a way this time too.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO MAY
(Date Posted:05/07/2014 8:42 AM)

Happy Hump Day!

We've been in the high 70s and low 80's for the last two days ~ lovely.  The funny thing is that yesterday morning when I came into the Man Cave, my first reaction was "Oh, no!  It snowed!" as I looked out of the window and thought I saw a light dusting of snow on the trees.  Then I looked again and realized it was the white apple blossoms on the back yard neighbor's tree.  This has apparently been a long, hard winter ~~ LOL

Up and dressed early yesterday, but then kind of blew the day.  Oh, well.  That's ok.  I had mentioned to my friend Debs in England on Facebook that I really liked her new Prime Minister (Stephen Fry who played the Psychiatrist on Bones is now playing the PM on "24"). She asked me if I'd watched "Kingdom", in which he starred from 2007 - 2009.  We went looking and found it on Hulu.  Hulu is a free service which we never use, and now I remember why ~~ Commercials!  Anyway, we watch an episode with our morning coffee, and then another and another until we ended up watching most of the first season!  The commercials on Hulu are really annoying, so we ordered the DVD.  We're always looking for something to watch before bedtime, and this is a nice gentle little series that really will do the trick.  We re-watch series we enjoy from time to time, so having the DVD, which was cheap, will work out for us.    ANYWAY, we didn't get much else done and we have no excuses.  Ha.

Bill (the HOA guy) came over and worked on our sprinkler system and ran it manually for us.  He said the timer was broken and he thought he had another one which he would put in today.  I really feel bad about having him do it.  He's just a volunteer and we'd be more than happy to hire it done, but getting the information about who to call and what to do is like pulling teeth.  He was working on many other systems yesterday too.  He's just too good hearted, and I know he enjoys doing these things, but I hate feeling like we are taking advantage of him.  Anyway, the Sprinkler system saga, like everything else, continues.

It's gonna be cooler today, only in the 60s and then start raining tonight and only be in the 50s tomorrow.  brrrr??

I think you may be right about our needing an exorcist!  It really has been just one thing after another for us.  LOL.

I haven't gotten a bill from the removal of the thing on my tongue yet either, nor have I seen that it was submitted to my insurance.  I did get, and pay the bill for the pathologist which was all arranged through the Surgeon's office.

I don't know that my insurance will pay any of it, but I know they took all the information for both my medical and dental insurances so you'd think they would surely have submitted it by now.  They don't do Medicare so I know that isn't the hang up.  I probably should call and ask them, but that feels a bit like poking the hornet's nest.   Anyway, I know what you are feeling about your various hospital and Dr bills.  Like waiting for the other shoe to drop.

 smiley2

Have a Lovely day.

RE:WELCOME TO MAY
(Date Posted:05/07/2014 3:48 PM)

It's Raining!

Actually a nice, pretty rain but our local NBC station seized the opportunity to overlay the last half of my Soap with weather maps and telling us that it was raining and some places have hail.  Only the soap was overlaid, none of the other networks saw fit to do this, and as soon as the soap was over, so was the weather report.

Believe me, I do understand that a soap opera isn't important in the scheme of things, and if they were telling us something important I wouldn't complain, but clearly they don't make as much money from the soap as for 'Ellen' which followed.  I'm annoyed.

Aside from the Weather Girl's ego, I'm glad we're getting some rain because our lawn had started to burn out.  Bill did get our sprinkler system fixed, so we should be fine from here in.  Mike asked him if we shouldn't be paying for the new timer he put in, and Bill said "No, that's our responsibility".   He, of course, shouldn't have had to do it, but he's part of the group in charge, so I guess we'll just "stand down" and be glad it's fixed.

We need to figure out when to take the trash and recycle bins out ~ tonight if it isn't raining, or chance that it won't be raining in the morning.

Next, Mike talked to a Landscaping Company about putting in pavers instead of the decorative rock we can't walk on in front and around the side of the house to enable us to walk around and fiddle with our own sprinkler timer system when there's a problem.   She said they couldn't do it until the middle of August, which was disappointing, but she said no one else would be able to do it earlier either because everyone has been holding off doing upgrades because of the economy and now everyone is going ahead with projects.  At least August will give us plenty of time to get approval from the HOA if we decide to go ahead with the project. She also said they'd never encountered an HOA problem with someone upgrading from decorative rock to pavers.  Hopefully we won't be the first.   She will come out and give us an estimate and talk about materials on Friday afternoon.

Today is my great-great niece Lucy's first birthday.  The thing I feared has happened and her mom Nikki has moved out with Lucy.  I know she and Robert are still in touch because he mails me pictures, and Nikki posts them in Instagram and on Facebook so I do get to "see" Lucy, but I don't know what kind of a birthday celebration there will be.  Not that this kind of thing doesn't happen when couples are married, but when they aren't it seems even shakier.  Sad.  Anyway, she's One today!   Robert got our gift on Saturday.  Since it's a collectible rather than a toy or an outfit, it won't mean much to her now, but hopefully it will when she's older. The card's cute and she can chew on that now.  Ha!  She's walking all over the place.  Cute.

They are all growing so fast.  Jack will be two next month, and Vince is 4 months old and cute as a button.

So, that's all the news that's print to from here.

How's your day going?

 Dorothy
