RE:WELCOME TO MARCH CHAT
(Date Posted:04/04/2017 8:48 AM)

With so far about 4 inches of snow, and more scheduled to come all day!   It's a good thing we got the windows washed yesterday ~~ or is it?

I hope your appointment with your Dr went well and wasn't too hard on you.

Just in case I haven't said this before, I do NOT expect you to read and respond to every post I've made since you left ~ or even ANY of them.     I post so you will know you were never out of my mind, and to share what's been going on if you have the time and energy to read any of it.  I do NOT expect you to!  Wading through a ton of posts is simply not fun!  Knowing you are thought of and cared about is.  smiley76

Hope you're having a happy day.

RE:WELCOME TO MARCH CHAT

Lots of snow yesterday ~ sunny 50s today.   The pavement is dry but the grassy areas and our deck are still covered with several inches.

Today I have someone coming to talk about "Vista trimming" a tree in our back yard that is blocking our view of Denver.  We had it Vista trimmed a few years ago to prevent it's blocking the view, and it grew twice as fast and is really blocking it now.  Darn.   I hope they can take the top down far enough to help without destroying the look of the tree.

Anyway, except for Tuesday I have something going on, large or small, every day this week.  I'm not used to that much interaction with the outside world and I'm exhausted from it.  Normal people would never understand.  Do you?  lol

With the carpet cleaners coming tomorrow and Shauna coming on Friday, I'm not sure when or if I will get in.  I'm tired just thinking about it!  :-(

I hope you are having a good day.

Meadow Ridge Tea Party

The party yesterday was lovely.   I am in awe of both Sue and John.   She had been baking scones for weeks and had I think four different kinds and they were delicious.   She said she was surprised that scones were dry, something that Shiela had mentioned too, but while they were appropriately dry, they were also light, not overly dense and delicious.

She had a set of plates and cups and saucers and she found more matching ones online so everything matched.   We had talked about how attractive mis-matched sets were, but so was the entirely matched set.   Se even took three plates and glued them on top of glasses to make tiered serving trays for the tables.   The scones were on the bottom level, then there were wonderful sandwiches on the second level ~ pimento cheese, cucumber in some kind of cream cheese, tuna and something with crushed walnuts.   The top layer was candy and petit fours and little cookies.

John kept the hot water coming for the tea.   There were plates of tea bags for us to select from, and cream and sugar.   Then John came around with glasses of Champagne, and kept it coming.   Sue had done so much work to prepare it was mind boggling, but clearly John worked as hard getting tables and he never sat down throughout the three hours we were there.   When we were picking up dishes to bring the to kitchen, he told us to leave them, that he would get them.   He repeated that at least three times ~ so we did.   Sue said while she was doing dishes by hand, he was picking up tables and chairs and linens and even vacuuming up the crumbs.

I did nothing but visit and eat and drink, but I was totally pooped when I got home.   Sue called and said she and John were going out for pizza but they were bringing a plate of scones and sandwiches for Mike.   Actually they brought two plates, the second including the "top layer" of goodies, part of which we had for dessert last night, and there are more left.   Scones for breakfast this morning!

Everyone looked lovely, but it was declared that Dorothy had the best hat!   Everyone went around and told the story of their pearls.   Some like mine were costume ~ I have cultured pearls but chose to wear some I bought from a friend who was selling jewelery several years ago.   I also wore my black pearly ring that Mike gave me.     Many were given to them by their mothers or their husbands when they were married.   One woman's pearls had been broken but she decided to have them restrung for the party.   When she took them to the jeweler, she asked if they were actually worth restringing, and the jeweler told her they were a certain kind of pearl (that I can't remember) gold sheen, highly lustrous and they were worth about $5k!   She had no idea before she had them strung for the party!

If I was as tired as I was when I came home yesterday after doing nothing but visiting and eating and drinking, it's hard to even imagine how tired Sue and John must be today.    Oh, and did I mention?   They are doing it all again on Tuesday for her Bible Study Group!

Now the pictures ~~

As the song says  . . .

"God sent his son, they called Him Jesus

He came to love, heal and forgive

He lived and died to buy my pardon

An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

and because He Lives, I can face tomorrow.

Because He lives, all fear is gone.

Because I know, I know He holds the future

and life is worth the living, just because He lives.''

Happy Easter my dear little sister!

Hello! Welcome Home!

I hope your night went well and you are feeling ok today ~ and that the family got some food in for you!  I would send something if I had a clue what you would like, had room to store, and needed.

We got 6 inches of snow overall yesterday! It kept falling but not sticking to the pavement, though it did stick to the grassy areas and roof tops.  Bitterly cold all day, a perfect day for Mike to make Chili, and me to get Lucy's gifts ready to mail and some laundry done.  Mike usually makes his chili with beef and some buffalo, but the store didn't have buffalo so he got elk meat.  It gave the chili an entirely different flavor ~ still really good, but entirely different.

50 degrees and no snow today.  It looks like Winter is over ~ again.  Who knows for how long, but next Saturday, when our company comes, we are expecting it to be 80 degrees!

I got 6 hours of good sleep last night ~ Hooray!

I hope you are feeling ok, and doing ok.  It's so good to have you back.  I've missed you!

Tra . . LA!   It's May!   The Lusty month of May (Camelot)

I just can't think May without hearing Julie Andrews singing about the Lusty Month of May.   lol

We were supposed to get up to 50 yesterday ~~ but we got to 70!   Beautiful sunshiney day ~ didn't we have a mini blizzard the day before??   There are still traces of snow, but it surely looks like May here.

I did get a fair amount of work done yesterday ~ for me, anyway, but it takes me 10 times longer to do the simplest things than it would take anyone else.   Sad.   I still have a lot to do to get ready for our company on Saturday.   Anyone else would do it all in a day, but it will take me all week and then I won't get it all done.   :-(

Please, PLEASE don't worry about responding to every comment I made while you were gone.  After a while I stopped posting just so you wouldn't feel you had to address every pearl of wisdom I uttered ~ LOL.   And . . . please, PLEASE don't think you have to make a new skin or sign in page or whatever.   You just need to concentrate on healing!

Love you much,
