Praying for your procedure today, to not be painful and to make you feel and be 100% better.

Heal fast!

Loved seeing that your mom came to visit with you, and to see you both full of smiles!!

Love,

Good Morning.

I had a terrible night.  I don't feel like I slept at all, and I have a haircut at 11 so I can't hope to catch up this morning.

We're still in the 70s today and tomorrow, but then we drop to the 50s for the next week or more.  Still, I can't complain.

Hope you're having a good day.   I need to get dressed to get my hair cut.  I'd rather just stay in bed all day.  Probably a good thing I can't.

Bunny Buddies, goodie bags complete with little 'cotton tails' and matching little cards for my Little Ones.

I need to "tweak" them a bit, but at least I did finish them!

Now I need to wait for the remaining supplies I need to complete my "grown up" Easter cards.  I don't want to order until April 1st so I can get credit in the next quarter, but I'm going to have to hustle to get them done in time for Easter.  At least I will have the kid's things done.

Hello.

It's warming up again today to a lovely 66 and no wind ~~ before another cool down starting tomorrow.  Our weather is so strange!

The house is clean and all the laundry is done and I hate to make calls to businesses on the weekends because they often don't have their most experienced employees working, so it may be a lazy day.  I wouldn't hate it.  I got sooooo tired yesterday, though I did sleep well last night.

This is the hat (Fascinator) I am going to wear to Sue's Tea.  I have a hard time imagining wearing it to church, but it should be fun for the party.

Are you still in the hospital?  What are they doing for you ~ either there or at home??

You know my prayers continue.

Good Morning

I've been googling for information on retaining Carbon Dioxide, but I can't really get a handle on it, or more importantly on what can be done about it.  The only thing I read that I understood was to be put on a Ventilator.

Are you still in the hospital?  Are they doing that?   I wish there were something I could do to help besides pray..   Maybe that is the most important thing.

Sending good thoughts and prayers.

Hello.

Our weather has taken a big drop.  We're looking at a high of 48 degrees with rain.  That would be fine, but we are going to The Keg for early dinner (or Linner, as John calls it) with John and Sue tonight, and it looks like it will be raining when we do.  Bummer  I might melt!  (No ~ not because I'm a witch!  Because I'm so SWEET!  )

I hope you are feeling better today.

Sending love and prayers.

Yesterday I saw the picture posted in Facebook of you with 'your' kids, so I

know that you are still in the hospital.   On the one hand of course I know

that isn't Good, but on the other hand I am glad you are where you can be

taken care of and not at home alone.   I've been so worried.

Sending many prayers and lots of love.

Good Morning.

Happy Birthday Faye!

We appear to be heading back to Winter.  Never boring, I'll tell ya.    We won't get out of the low 40s today with an excellent chance of rain, and SNOW overnight and tomorrow.

We actually had a very nice Do Almost Nothing day yesterday.  I did very little, and I enjoyed it!   Last night I got what was for me a very good night's sleep.  Ahhhhh.  I woke up a few times and around 3 I was wide awake and thought sleep was toast, but then I drifted off and didn't wake until 5:30.  I still slept a bit more and didn't really wake up until after 7!   Again, Ahhhh.

It was so wonderful to hear from you yesterday!  I know you have been through such a hard time, and you still have a ways to go to get back to good health, but you are in a place where hopefully you can really get the help you need, and also hopefully you are over the worst of it!   It will be so good that your family and friends can visit you and your mom in one place, even if the two of you can't be in the same space.

Sending love, hugs and many more prayers, Little Sister.   I'm so glad you are ok!

Happy April/Happy April Fool's Day!

We had snow overnight, but not much here at my house.  I think the rest of Colorado got a fair bit.   Our temps have dipped to freezing for the day.   Is THIS an April Fool's joke?

Today is the anniversary of our First Date ~ how appropriate for Mike and me that our first date was on April Fool's Day.  lol   Fortunately we didn't plan on going out to celebrate today in this rather nasty weather.   We're making a lovely Chateaubriand at home tonight.

I plan to work on cards between now and Thursday when the Carpet cleaners come and hopefully finish my Easter Cards and some 'Thinking of you' daisy cards I started yesterday.  I'd also love to make an anniversary card for my friend Donna and her husband's first anniversary.   I'm not sure about getting that one done.   I didn't make Mike a card for today's anniversary either ~ no joke.  Ha!

I hope you are having a GOOD Day!

RE:WELCOME TO MARCH CHAT
(Date Posted:04/02/2017 8:02 AM)

Hi

Yesterday morning after I posted, I got a call from my great niece Katie, telling me that her mom (Mary Ann) had found my niece Catherine dead in her home when she went to pick her up to go somewhere.

Catherine was 58.  She divorced her husband and moved to Park Falls Wis, next to the little town where Mary Ann lives about 3 years or so ago, and bought a nice house and was fixing it up.    The girl's mom, Alice, retired and moved there 4 or 5 years ago.   Catherine's son Robert and his daughter Lucy live in Denver, and she came back here four times a year to be with them.

I don't know what the cause of death was, but I suspect it may have been an arrhythmia problem because that seems common among my Mom's family.  Decades ago my Aunt Calla was just walking across her living room and dropped dead.  My mom died in her sleep with her hand under her cheek and the bed clothes not even mussed, and some 21 years later I was reading a book in the living room  when Mike came down from the office for coffee and asked me if I wanted a refill.  I said yes, and by the time he brought it to me I was "asleep" and he couldn't waken me.  He called 911 and the rest is history.  The difference is that Calla, my mom and Catherine were alone when it happened, and I was not.

Of course it could be something different.   I'm not sure we will know.   I don't know anything else right now but I hope to find some things out today.

Catherine was funny and talented and fun to be with, and her mom, sister and son loved her dearly.  I ache for them.   She and Alice were particularly close.  I don't think I can even imagine the kind of grief Alice is experiencing today, or for that matter Mary Ann or Robert either.   Katie was sobbing when she called and she said when she called her brother Aaron, he was at a loss.

When the call came in and Mike heard my side of it he thought something had happened to Alice.  We were and are stunned that it was Catherine. It's still hard to get my head around it.   Just shows once again that you can't predict that the oldest one, or the one who has been ill, or whatever else will be the one to go.

Let those you love know how much you love them.

I love you.

Dorothy

Sorry I'm late this morning.   The window washers called and asked to come early, so they did and just left.   It's too hard for me to post while someone is working here, as you know.   Poor Shogun is traumatized.   I had him in the Morning Room with me while they cleaned the Master Bedroom windows inside, and then moved him back there when they were through so we could close the door and not worry about him getting out of an open window or something.   He almost bolted out of my arms when I took him back there, and when they left and we opened the bedroom door we couldn't find him.  Finally he came out ~~~ and crawled under the dryer to his hidey hole there, and he still hasn't come out!   He'll be fine, but we need to let him come out at his own time.   Anyway, the windows all sparkle, inside and out now.

We also had them change the light bulbs out in our ceiling fans in the bedroom and great room.  Now they are LED bulbs, supposed to last for 13.5 years!  It will be so nice not to have to worry about getting someone to change them again, at least for a long time.

I talked and texted with the family yesterday.  Whole lot of crying going on as you can imagine.  Following conventional wisdom, Alice would have been the next one to die, and then her sister and then me.  Conventional wisdom is not always the best predictor of what will happen.   It's still hard to get our heads around the fact that Catherine is gone.   Mary Ann went to pick her up to go to an auction, and then they were going to pick up Alice.  Instead she wasn't waiting when Mary Ann drove up, and didn't answer the door. though the dogs were going crazy.  Mary Ann got her key and let herself in and found Catherine on the floor.  She was sure she was gone, but didn't touch her and instead called her husband, Benji, who came over and picked Catherine up and cradled her.  Katie said she had never seen (heard) her dad cry before.  There is something about a strong man crying . . .

He went on to pick up Alice and tell her what had happened, and Mary Ann stayed and called 911.

I'm still not sure who told Robert, but he flew into Minneapolis that night and the next morning Kate drove him half way to Park Falls and Mary Ann, Benji and Alice drove over to pick him up.   He has been crying so much, too.  He is close to his dad, but his mom was his rock.
