RE:WELCOME TO MARCH
(Date Posted:03/28/2014 11:32 PM)

Hello My Friends
Rained all day today so was dreary and dark.  But that is ok as I was not going anywhere.  Nothing much going on here.  Just realized it was the end of the month again and I had better get going on the new skin and page. I also have two challenges to do for my CDO group.  I wish I had not spent the day fooling around doing nothing.  We had a delicious Fish Dinner from Tuckers.  Small order and it was 3 pieces of fish, french fries, rye bread and coleslaw.  I still have a piece of fish, fries and bread...mom too has fish and bread left.  She had potato salad instead of fries.  So I can have a yummy fish sandwich for lunch tomorrow.
I do not know what the hell is wrong with my nephew Jordan.  He hasn't got a job and hejust added more piercings to his face and he has a new girlfriend with tons.  I would not want to hire him just looking at him.  Just amin, I am going to post a pic of them.  I think she looks a bit freaky. She was here yesterday but had a hoodie on and it was pulled over her head and low over her face so could not really see her.  Note their mouths and her ear...both ears are like that.

Ok, Bruce has put us all to shame.  He finished his canvas for his
grandson Liam's room.  You remember I did the elephant.  Well,
Bruce had frog and here is his pic.

Makes the rest of us look like kindergartners.  I thought we were supposed to keep it simple.  Jeepers, cannot wait to be
shown up by Gary and Steve...all three of them work in the art
field.
Well, it is time for me to shut down for the night.  Chat with you
tomorrow!
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO MARCH
(Date Posted:03/29/2014 8:06 AM)

And a cheery Good Morning to you all.

I was treated to another of those no sleep nights last night, awake and only dozing from 2:30 on.  The Norwex party is at 2PM.  I hope I don't look like I suspect I'm gonna feel.

We went to the Bonefish for Fish and Chips last night and it was very good, as usual.  This is a Happy Hour Special, a.k.a Old Phart's Special, cuz we tend to go for dinner during Happy Hour.

We're still trying to decide about the new washer/drier.  The sale is only on through the 31st so we'd better get it ordered soon if we're going to.  We started leaning toward the white ones for our Laundry Room, then I saw a YouTube with the granite one and I'm back to undecided.  I think Mike is pretty much in the White Camp now.   We'll save $200 by buying the white ones in addition to the 25% off, and the fact that we've learned that the slightly less expensive one is rated the same as the more expensive one and has the same features and size.  We can't figure out why the more expensive one IS more expensive!

I'll bet you are getting bored with this, huh?  lol

Lou Ann, I changed the tag you gave me to the one with the correct credits.

I have to acknowledge that I am really, really old.  I hate tattoos and piercings and I do tend to judge people on them.   My logical mind tells me that this is just a new and acceptable style, and the rich and famous do it, but I still can't get passed it.  That said, my great nephew Robert (Lucy's dad) and Lucy's mom both have tattoos, and not just tiny ones on an ankle.  They are both really good looking, I think, but I HATE the tats ~~ just so's ya know.    Jordan is looking at a court hearing (if I have my nephews right) and that isn't the image I'd think he wants to present.  On the other hand, maybe the judge has tats and piercings too ~ lol.

Bruce's frog is wonderful ~~ but I don't think it puts your charming elephant to shame.   What a lucky little boy Liam is to have such talented and caring people in his life.

And yet another adorable tag!  I'm all ready for Easter now!  Thank You!!

Happy Saturday!

RE:WELCOME TO MARCH
(Date Posted:03/30/2014 12:13 AM)

WooHoo, it is supposed to be 55 tomorrow and 62 on Mon.
Then colder again.  But I go to the doctor on Mon and will enjoy the weather while I am out and about.  I also need to
get my INR done.  So at least the weather is something to look forward to.
Dorothy, I hope you got a little sleep before your party.  I am sorry that you had another bad night.  WisI amh I could think of a way to help you get sleep.  I sing when I cannot sleep because my mind is racing.  I start singing very low songs that I learned in chorus in high school.  The more I focus on the words to the song the less my mind races and before I know it I am asleep.  I rarely make it to a 2nd song.  You could try it.  No guarantees.
I am with Mike with the white appliances.  You do not have much time left to make up your minds.  Good Luck!
I am old school too...though I have to admit that I would love a tattoo.  I always wanted a unicorn on my upper back...though just a small one.  I am becoming a lot more tolerant of them but still like them in lesser amounts.  As far as piercings go.....Ears are good, lol  But no more than 2 in each ear.  I do not like facial piercings at all, especially tongue ones.  Anywhere else is a no go too.  I do not see any beauty in them elsewhere.  Suz says that Jordan's girl,  did his piercings with a hollow point needle.  That alone is stupid and Suz says she did all her own.  That is sick in my opinion.  She must like pain!  Jordan will remove them for the hearing.  I was questioning Suzanne about details of the event and caught her in a lie....I think so who knows what the truth is.
I am hoping for a potato pancake breakfast again tomorrow but Suz did not know if they were going...though Jerry said something about going, so hopefully they will.
I got one of my challenges done for CDO.  We had to create a tag that expressed out dreams of what we want to be, do, etc.  I thought about it and my dreams now are that I get my health back...my sight, hearing and mobility...no restrictions.  So this is what I came up with.
Hugs,

♪ Let's go fly a kite . . . ♪

Today would certainly be the day to do it.  We're going to be experiencing "The Winds" again today ~ oh, joy.  Still, it's a bright, bright sunshiney day and we are heading for 70 degrees!

As I had feared, I felt like crap all day yesterday.  I don't do well on 2 hours of sleep.  Last night I got a glorious 5 hours ~ why couldn't I have had that the night before?!

I was afraid Sue wasn't going to have many people at her Norwex party since this was the third one in the neighborhood, so I didn't feel I could just skip going.  Mike actually drove me over and picked me up, though it's only across the street and down two houses.  Rather embarrassing.  Everyone always stands and visits at parties here, but after a while I had to seek out a chair and isolate myself from the conversation.      I did end up buying a fair amount so hopefully that helped Sue get more goodies.  Lisa had several things on hand so I brought them home with me, along with a big piece of Red Velvet cake Sue sent home for Mike.  Once I got home and sat (again!) for a while, I put my new mop together and dry mopped the wood floor ~ it really does work SO much better than my old Rubbermaid mop that I justified myself for buying it.  Today I will wet mop, and I'm actually looking forward to it!   Please don't worry.  I'm sure this joy of mopping won't last.  LOL.    The kewl thing is that you only use water and no chemicals.  There is silver embedded into the fibers which is antibacterial.  No more putting chemicals, even the recommended ones, on my floors or having the cats walk through right after we've washed the floor and leave prints ~ and then later licking the Bona off of their paws.   At least, no more IF the floors look as good after washing them as I hope they will.

On the other news front, we did go ahead and order our new washer and dryer.  Apparently Mike had it wrong and the sale ended yesterday.  We ordered the white ones, and asked for delivery on April 17th, which will hopefully give Matt enough time to raise the cabinets. By ordering the less expensive ones, in white, on sale, we saved a bundle!  I'm a little excited about them too.  They're energy efficient and should even use less of my Norwex detergent.

Oh, good LORD!  I sound like one of THEM ~ the cleaning obsessed housewives!   I know this is just a very temporary phase, and I will quickly outgrow it and go back to being my dirty old self again soon. LOL.

Lou Ann, I love all the tags you have made for me, but this one, that expresses what YOU want (and me, too!) is really something special.  Thank you so much for including me when you make new tags for your challenges.  I don't take it for granted that you will always make me one, but when you do, I surely love it. Thank you.

I've decided to get some Benedryl to help with my sleep issue.  This is going on way to long and without any reason that I can see.  I used to take it with success but we ran out and didn't replace it.  When I had the cardiac arrest they gave it to me in an IV Drip, so I feel pretty safe about taking it.   Now, just to GET some!

Is this your regular "main" Dr you are seeing tomorrow?  Good luck with that visit AND with your INR.   My numbers on Friday still came in pretty low ~ acceptable 2.1, but low.  I think I need to only be taking half a pill one day a week rather than two, but we'll see what they say if I go over or under in the future.   I really could prescribe for myself by now.  lol

Not so sure singing would work for me.  When I was a little kid I used to "Sing and Roll" myself to sleep, literally put my hands over my ears and roll from side to side as I sang or hummed, so I do know what you mean.  Eons ago I had a horrid ever-lasting flu and I coughed so hard for so long that I did something to my vocal cords.  I sound like an off-key frog now.  Sad, because I'm one of those people who sang for no reason around the house.  Now I suppose I could still "Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord", but I don't think it would be so joyful to my husband.  When we were driving and I'd start to sing, Mike would turn on the radio!  lol

Jordan's a nice looking young man.  I'm sorry he feels the need for piercings.  Of course in Dorothy World, I'm sorry ANYONE feels the need for tats and piercings.  Luckily I don't control even Dorothy World so everyone can beautify themselves as they see fit.  LOL    I really do have my fingers crossed for Jordan and the upcoming trial (or whatever it is).  Keep me posted.

I hope you get your Potato Pancake today!

I had another one of those nights.  I'm going to have to get some Benedryl and soon, or else maybe a big mallet to conk myself on the head with when I go to sleep at midnight and wake up at 2 AM!  This is really getting OLD ~~ and so am I!

Fortunately we don't have anything much going on to day.  Yesterday I did wet mop the  large hallway floor with my new mop and (so far) I'm impressed.  My back staged a protest before I tackled the kitchen, so I have that to do today.  (maybe).  Of course I don't have to do it because Marcela comes on Wednesday, but I read that the first time or two there is a drag with the wet mop as you begin to get the built up old cleaning products and polishes up, and I'm really hoping Marcela will like the mop system as much as she does the cleaning cloths, so I wanted to have the first "drag" and hopefully make the process more "drag free" for her.

Mike wants to try out a new recipe for Taco Bake, so I don't even have to cook today!

It's currently 43 degrees, heading for a high in the mid-50s, but the wind is blowing at 32 mph with stronger gusts.  It sounds like the house is coming down!

smiley1

Lou Ann, you know me well enough to know I like the way Josh looks better.   They are both good looking boys.  Josh's girlfriend is pretty, too.

Good luck with your Pulmonologist's visit and your blood draw!

Don't worry about the new skin.  It will be up when it's up, and I know it will be lovely.  I can wait.
