RE:WELCOME TO JUNE CHAT
(Date Posted:06/15/2016 2:48 AM)

Another scorcher, heading for 93 today.  No major plans, but Mike just found a new food delivery place that apparently works with all sorts of different restaurants in the area.  Hmmmm.

I played with card stamping a bit yesterday, but by the time I drag everything out and try to get my mind in a "creative" mood I don't get much "creating" done.   I made a mock up of Mike's Anniversary card and then stamped some things I want to cut out with my new Big Shot and planned to do that today, but then I got a message from Kathy, my Stampin up gal, who offered to come and walk me through using the Big Shot on Friday afternoon.  I think I could do it on my own, but I suspect having Kathy show me would be a lot smarter, so I'm going to do that. She said she had some tricks she thought I would like.   Friday morning Shauna will come, Friday afternoon Kathy will come, and Friday night I'll probably be catatonic.  lol

I hope every day your vision is getting better.  You visit the Dr today ~ I hope he has some encouragement for you!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Good Morning. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

It's heading for 93 today, but could reach 100 on Sunday.

Mike did order from the delivery service online, but he made a mistake and when they didn't have the thing I ordered, they substituted something I didn't want.  I think we will try the service again some time, but last night's was a bad experience.   Sooo, I got nothing and he got two meals, IF they had been good.  They weren't.  They were from a new-to-us restaurant in Denver that had a five star rating.  I had a frozen mini quiche.

I see that you are still not SEEING well.  I really pray that you are getting some help!   This is too miserable!

Glad you didn't have to go to the basement.

Be Healed!!!
(this is using a 24 font!)

Love 'n hugs,

WELL HERE I AM AGAIN AND YES I STILL HAVE EYE ISSUES.  I SAW DR TAM YESTERDAY AND HE SAYS IT IS DOING WELL.  BUT THEY CANNOT TEST MY EYES FOR GLASSES UNTIL MY JULY 6 APPT.  BY THEN THE EYE SHOULD BE HEALED AND ALL THE SWELLING GONE.  HE DICTATES HIS NOTES WHILE YOU ARE STILL WITH HIM.  I HEARD HIM SAY THAT SOME FILAMENT IS STUCK IN MY CORNEA AND I LOOKED AT HIM KINDA SHOCKED, DO HE STOPPED HIS RECORDER, REALIZING HE HAD NOT TOLD ME ABOUT THAT.  SEEMS THE S0ME TIMES THESE MINISCULE FILAMENTS FROM THE TOOLS THEY USE BREAK OFF AND FLOAT AROUND IN THE EYE.  THEY ARE NOT HARMFUL AND ARE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.  MMM HMM, I JUST BET!  GOING TO SEE IF I CAN FIND THAT REPORT ON LINE SO THAT I CAN RESEARCH IT.  ONE OF THE NURSES SUGGESTED I TRY THE READING GLASSES  YOU CAN BUY ANYWHERE AND SUGGESTED 2.5  LOUANN HAD BROUGHT ME ONE OF HERS THE DAY BEFORE THAT WAS 2.25 AND THEY HELPED SOME BUT NOT ENOUGH. SO SHE CHECKED YESTERDAY AND FOUND A PAIR SHE HAD THAT ARE 2.5, THEY HELP MORE, BUT STILL NOT ENOUGH.  SO AM HAVING SUZ PICK MY UP A PAIR THAT IS 3.O AND I AM HOPING THAT WILL DO THE TRICK.  CROSS YOUR FINGERS.

I MUST HAVE MISSED SOMETHING ABOUT THE PLACE YOU ORDERED FOOD FROM SO I NEED TO GO BACK AND REREAD.  IT IS TOO BAD THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE WHAT YOU WANTED.  DOES THE SITE SAY THAT THEY WILL SUBSTITUTE UNLESS YOU SAY OTHERWISE?  I WOULD THINK IT WOULD BE WRONG TO DO IT OTHERWISE.  THEY DO NOT KNOW ALLERGIES, ETC.  IF THE FOOD WAS NOT GOOD AND THEY MESSES WITH YOUR ORDER, I WOULD NOT GIVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE.
SO FRUSTRATED IN GENERAL.  I MISS MY GROUPS BUT I HAVE REMAINED ON NO MAIL IN THEM ALL.  I AM STRAINING MY EYE TOO MUCH.  NOT GOOD.
OK, I LOOKED AND I DO NOT SEE MENTION OF THE FOOD ORDER SERVICE.

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE CHAT
(Date Posted:06/18/2016 1:06 PM)

Hello

Well, it did indeed get pretty tired out yesterday, no surprise.  :-D   I asked Shauna to do the Great Room first in case Kathy came early so I could move my Stampin Stuff into the kitchen.  Shauna went through the house like Grant took Richmond and was gone half an hour before Kathy got there.

Then Kathy called and said she was stopping by Starbucks and could she bring me something ~ wasn't that sweet?  I said no.  She brought much of her own equipment and also another of those wonderful card sets for me.  She hadn't finished the first one for me to use as a guide, so we finished it together, which was better anyway, and I have the pieces to put together three more cards, less the "sentiments".    She also brought me some scraps of glitter paper, which will be wonderful, and a new mini-banner punch.  She said she appreciates all the business I've given her, and I sure appreciate her conducting classes for just me, not to mention all the goodies!

I had Mike's anniversary card done all except for cutting out some of the things I wanted to add, so she supervised me when I cut them out and added them to the card.  I think it turned out pretty cute, and I think he will like it.

I asked her about another embossing technique I had seen online and couldn't imagine how they accomplished the effect, so she showed me.  I can DO this!  Yay!    We both had a lot of laughs as we 'played'.  I really like her.  One of the cutouts she had on the card set she gave me was a rose and I told her about the yellow rose being my favorite and my carrying them when we were married, and how Mike gives me a long stemmed yellow China rose for every anniversary, so she had to see them.   Turns out they are her favorite flowers, and she carried them in her wedding too.

Neither Mike nor I was worth much after she left.  LOL

Kathy and I worked in the kitchen, but I found that I can leave things up in the Morning Room on the little folding table we got and Shogun doesn't get into them ~~ so far.  Of course it doesn't look very good if someone drops in, but I can close the door.   The problem is hauling everything from the Library to the "Temporary Craft Room" each time.   Mike has sort of solved that for me!   He built me a Mobile Craft Room!  I love it!!

I got such a kick out of Kathy.  I was telling her (rather embarrassed) that I got ink all over my hands when I stamped, and I either had "bald spots" or got too much ink on the pads, hence the inked hands.  She said she did too!  LOL   Definitely made me feel better.
She taught me a trick with the Big Shot embossing that just made my day, too.  I thought those I had seen had been hand painted and I would never be able to do it.  Instead, it's easy-peasy, though I'm sure I'll have to practice.  FUN!

You asked about the Big Shot, so I took a picture for you.  Using some different "platforms" you can put a sheet of card stock in an embossing folder and sandwich the embossing folder between two pieces of plastic, and then manually run that through the Big Shot, and the pressure creates an embossed image on the card stock.  Cool!

Then you can stamp some card stock, change the platform and then place metal dies (called thinlets) over the stamped images, again put cardstock and all between two plastic sheets, and when you roll it through the Big Shot, it cuts out the images for you.

I copied this from an email I got today and didn't try to 'shrink' it.   It shows the embossed background on the card stock, and the feathers and banner are cut out, all with the Big Shot.

That wrong delivery order really was Mike's fault, though an easy mistake to make.   As you check out you have three options in case the item you ordered isn't available: Cancel the order, Accept the Chef's recommendation (which is the default) and something else.  He didn't uncheck the default box, and when he realized we weren't going to get what he had ordered, the system didn't give him a way to correct it.  Live and learn.   He ordered some Breakfast Burritos from a restaurant we used to go to often, and they were delivered with no problem.  The plan was for him to freeze half of them, but I don't think they are going to last that long ~~ LOL.  He has always loved them.

How frustrating that now your INR is too low!  At least it was ok to get you through the surgery.  I forgot to take mine on Thursday, so I took it on Friday ~ 2.1.

I really hope that every day your eye is getting better!
Have a great day.

This is not a good eye day. Yesterday was so

much better. I think it is because we are

holed up in the house with the AC on. Too

darn hot and will be for a couple of days.

Also have fans on to pull the colder air into

the living room.  It dries my eye out and

irritates it. I put in eye drops 4x a day.  I had
had asked if I would use my dry eye drops

but they said it was not a good idea. But it

does effect my vision.  Nothing else to tell

you. I am so boring.

I love your big shot, that is awesome what

it does. They definitely did not have that

when I was stamping. Looks like so much

fun. When I was stamping it was all tricks

with the stamping and and some with fun

scissor edges and small punches. Not all

the great stuff and toys they have now. That

is a great cart for your supplies. Mike did

good. Going to go now and do my one game,

 which requires no reading, lol.

XOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE CHAT
(Date Posted:06/19/2016 9:19 AM)

Good Morning

For Father's Day and to continue celebrating Jack's Fourth Birthday, Aaron and Katie and their families went to Mary Ann and Benji's for the weekend.  I've been getting the most delightful pictures texted to me from Kate and Mary Ann.  They live on a lake, and the Big Boys took kayaks out.  Pics of Grandpa Benji with Vince and Dad Brian with Jack ~ too adorable ~ plus one I love of Mary Ann in a hammock with both of her grandsons.  Aaron and Christina left Vince with the Grandparents and to play with Jack.  Christina is due this week, so they are probably enjoying a little down time, too.

We're looking at a temp of 99 today.  I think we'll be staying inside.  Mike plans to grill salmon tonight and we will be enjoying it with (drumroll) a bottle of Cristal Champagne, our gift to each other for our anniversary weekend.  Tomorrow is the actual anniversary.  Our celebration will be very low key, which is just about right for us these days.

Yesterday morning we had our coffee on the porch.  It was lovely out there and we enjoyed it, until we saw a woman walking up the sidewalk across and down the street.  I thought but wasn't sure she was a neighbor who always used to walk the neighborhood, very purposefully, maybe twice a day.  I'd never actually met her, but I knew who she was.  This lady seemed so much less strong, and definitely confused as she went up to one house, and then another.  I thought she needed help, but I hesitated because she was half a block away, and I don't walk that distance easily myself (pathetic, I know), AND I wasn't sure it was our neighbor.  Then a bachelor across the street came out and went to her, threw his arm around her and walked her in the direction of her home in the next block. He was so sweet to her.  He later sent an email telling what had happened and alerting us to be aware of her if we saw her out looking confused.   She used to love to walk, but told him maybe she'd better not do that anymore.  She has dementia and was on the wrong block so she couldn't find her home.  Her son moved in with her and she goes to 'Day Care' normally until her son is off from work.   I don't really know her, but it broke my heart.

I was thinking how much fun it would be to have Kathy come over and conduct a class for US ~ and maybe the gals in the other group.  I know you would like each other and we would have so much fun just making a card and perhaps sipping something alcoholic ~~ or non.  What fun that would be!   Do check out some of the videos.  It's fun to watch.  I'm not so good at making the cards (yet?), but I'm REALLY good at watching the videos and shopping ~ lol.  I was so excited last night when we were watching TV and I could actually "see" a card I wanted to make in my mind's eye!  Maybe I do have an eighth of an ounce of creativity after all!  Of course when I finally get the supplies I need and try to put it together, I will probably find that it doesn't work at all.  Ha.

Yesterday I set up the little folding table in the Morning Room and then brought in the "portable craft room" (lol) and it worked great!.  I'll have to take a picture to show you.  I put the Craft Room On Wheels in the closet, and left the table up.  It's ALMOST like having a real Craft Room ~

I hate that you are still having so much trouble with your eye!  I don't think I've ever heard of anyone having so much trouble.  I think your Dr has some 'splaining to do!

I'm also sorry about the ever changing text and spacing in this post!  I've tried and tried, and now I'm giving up.

See better!!!!

Love you.

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE CHAT
(Date Posted:06/20/2016 8:56 AM)

Good Morning!

What were you doing 35 years ago?  I can tell you what I was doing.   ;-)

Mike put on our very romantic "Puccini Without Words" DVD and we shared a glass of Cristal in the Library and reminisced.   Fancy Champagne came in a box, wrapped in amber cellophane. Unwrapped and uncorked, it was lovely.

Then he put a lovely salmon steak on the grill and we had it with orange hollandaise sauce and creamed peas.  Fresh raspberries on ice cream for dessert.  Very low key Anniversary Eve, but very pleasant.   Plans for today are equally low key.

It reached 99 degrees, but when we went out to the deck to grill, it was pleasant.  In the morning, in the sun, you could have fried your brains.   Remarkably, it's only going to get to the low 80s here today ~ lovely ~ but then back to 102 tomorrow!

This is my Mobil Craft Room ~~ folding table and the cart on wheels Mike made for me.   I can fold up my little table and wheel the cart into the closet, and no one is the wiser.   Most of the stuff is stored in two cabinets in the library..... but I'm not hooked.  Of COURSE I'm not.   LOL

Oh, how I would LOVE to share my Big Shot and the paper and punches and stamps I have bought with you!   We would have so much fun, and I surely have way more than I can possibly use.   Like I said, I may not be good at card making (yet?), but I'm real good at shopping.  LOL

Jack is 4.  How can that be?!   I kept getting pictures texted from Katie and Mary Ann during the weekend.  It's hard for me to get a texted pic into my PC, but I did.  This one, however I "stole" from Instagram.  Four year old Jack with his cutie pie two and a half year old cousin, Vince.    (Sorry about the text.  At any larger size the spacing went crazy.  I don't know why just here.)

I have felt so guilty that I didn't go out to try to help our neighbor Rose when I saw her looking lost and confused.  Walking much of the length of the block would have been hard for me, and then walking her back to our house would have maybe been harder.  I would have to have done that and had Mike drive us to her house.  No way I could have walked there to get her in, and then walked all the way back to our house.  I hate being so worthless that I can't even help a neighbor.  Thank God for Jim, seeing and helping her.   Bless her heart, what a nightmare dementia is.  Clearly she is aware that she has it, and doesn't want to give in to it.  Makes tears come to my eyes just 'talking' about it here.

I'm going to try to increase the font size without screwing up the spacing ~~ we'll see what happens.

Colorado Politix is nutz.  Remember my frustration because CO held a caucus instead of a Primary for President?  Well, now they are holding the Primary.  Don't ask me to explain.  We couldn't attend the Caucus, but as luck would have it, the Caucus goers chose my candidate, Ted Cruz, so it was ok.  Apparently we weren't the only ones not thrilled so my State Senator sent out a request for input for changing this whatever-it-is in the future.    Now we vote for local offices in the Primary, and we'did it mail-in.   TMI for a sunny day?  lol

Yesterday it was actually COOL-ish here, but today we're back to the heat wave, 99 degrees.

Yesterday was not the best day for either Mike or me, so we're going to have a do-over, maybe a bit later.  My day was just "off" a bit ~ you know how that can be.  Nothing seriously wrong, but things just not working out quite right either.  Mike's day was worse.  He had a good day until it was time to grill the halibut steaks.  It looked like it might rain so he put the fire on  bit early. The meal was lovely ~ grilled halibut, creamed corn and sweet potato fries.  However then things went wrong.  We'd had music playing on the TV, and we turned the TV off to go outside and grill.  When we turned it back on, we had sound but no picture!  Mike worked for a long time trying to get it to work, but no luck.  The problem could be in the actual TV or in the Receiver that the surround sound goes through.  I know he won't be able to relax and enjoy his life until it's working again, so we'll wait and have a do-over anniversary day.  This is the Big TV in the Great Room so we can't just switch TV's out.  :-(    We still have our TV in the bedroom and in the Morning Room, but you know he won't rest until he gets the big one in the great room working ~ or God forbid, replaced.

I tried to come in here last night but couldn't get in,  Apparently Aimoo was doing some testing and we were to be off and on periodically.  They said on the 21st but maybe in China that was yesterday.  Anyway, we're back now, but whether or not we'll be off and on again, I don't know.  They owe us a year of Diamond Membership for all they have put us through!

I hope so much that your eye is better.

YAY TO BEING UP AND RUNNING AGAIN.  AIMOO'S TIMING MUST BE EARLIER THAN OURS SINCE IT WENT DOWN WHILE I WAS IN TRYING TO POST.  I HAD JUST GATHERED MY BORDER AND PUT THE TAGS IN AND I FOUND MYSELF OUR IN INTERNET LIMBO.  I THOUGHT, OH SHIT, WHAT DID I DO NOW.  BUT WHEN I COULD NOT GET BACK IN THEN I KNEW THE TIME HAD COME.
I AM SO SORRY YOU DID NOT HAVE A GOOD DAY FOR YOUR ANNIVERSARY.  I HAD ONE OF THOSE SAYS WHERE YOU JUST DO NOT FEEL RIGHT THE END OF LAST WEEK.  I ENDED UP THINKING IT MAY HAVE BEEN DUE TO CHANGING MG ANTIDEPRESSANT.  SO FAR SO GOOD.  NO CRYING OF NOT WANTING TO GET UP.  I DO SUFFER FROM NOT WANTING TO GO TO BED BECAUSE I WILL JUST BE DOING THE SAME OLD STUFF AGAIN THE NEXT DAY.  SIGH.
POOR MIKE.THAT WOULD BE DRIVING ME CRAZY TOO.  OUR CABLE COMPANY HAS A TROUBLE SHOOTING LIST ON THEIR SITE THAT YOU CAN GO THROUGH FOR SUGGESTIONS ON FIXING WHAT IS WRONG.  IF NONE THERE WORK YOU CAN CALL THEM AND THEY CAN WALK YOU THROUGH SOME THINGS AND IF ALL ELSE FAILS, THEY MAKE AN APPT TO  COME FIX IT.  TELL MIKE TO DISCONNECT THE TV FROM CABLE AND SEE ID THERE IS SOUND.  IF NOT, IT IS THE TV.  IF THERE IS, IT IS THE CABLE THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH CABLE.
OMG, VINCE AND JACK AS SOOOO CUTE!!  LOVE THE PICTURE, IT IS ADORABLE!!
WE CUT UP ENOUGH RHUBARB FOR 4 BATCHES OF JAM.  2 WILL BE STRAWBERRY AND 2 WILL BE RASPBERRY.  WE CUT UP 24 CUPS OF THE RHUBARB.  WE ALREADY DID 4 ON THE WEEKEND.  IT IS SO SWEET AND I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO TALK MOM INTO MAKING ONE WITH HALF THE SUGAR OR WITH A SUGAR SUBSTITUTE BUT SHE IS VERY RESISTIVE.  SO I WILL NOT BE EATING IT.
 XOXOXO

It looks to be a nice day today, sunny with a high of 84.  I'll take it!

Yesterday was another frustrating day with not much getting done.  The TV problem really is the TV and not the Receiver or a loose connection or something fixable. We got this TV when we moved here five years ago and bought a four year warranty for it.  Sigh.  We spent a chunk of time talking about finances and what we wanted to do about replacing it, and we've made a decision.  Kaching!  Mike is going to call Best Buy today.   In the meantime, we are using the small one from the guest bedroom.  I will have to take a picture of them together ~ kind of funny, now that I can laugh again.

What a beautiful tag!  I love the lighting effect.  Thank you!!

Your Jam sounds wonderful ~ and I'm so sorry you can't have much of it.  Still, how ambitious of you!

I can't believe your eye still isn't better.  I've never heard of someone  having this much trouble before !   It's beginning to concern me.

Hello.

Darn, we're heading back to the heat

today, low 90s.  Yesterday was lovely.

I accomplished almost nothing again.  I

 am beyond worthless.

This shifting text spacing is driving me

crazy.  I'm trying to make it readable for

you, and Aimoo is determined to make it

 un-readable!

In the past you practically had to shoot

your aging TVs to make them die.  Now

they have all these "wonderful" fancy-

schmancy computerized things ~ that

can so quickly go wrong.  This really has

been a lovely TV with a wonderful

picture and no hint that anything was

wrong, until it just stopped working!   We

are having the new one delivered and

set up on Saturday and they will haul th

e old one away for $15.  That, at least, is

a good thing.  It's heavy and would be

terrible for Mike and me to have to deal

with ~ other than the large 'Kaching' to

 purchase the new one.

Hope you are having a good day!
