RE:WELCOME TO JUNE
(Date Posted:06/24/2014 9:11 AM)

Good Morning.

Yesterday the news folks kept threatening us with terrible storms and golf ball sized hail, and I didn't see a drop of rain.  It got windy for 15-20 minutes in the afternoon but that was it.

Today we have temps in the high 80s predicted with rain after 5.  We'll see.

Ok.  Mark yesterday on the Cuppa Calendar.  Dorothy actually got some work done ~ a fair amount of it in fact!  Just "normal" for most folks, but for me lately, quite impressive.  LOL.

I'ts a good thing because I got a text from Marcela last night.  She is scheduled to clean for us tomorrow, but yesterday morning she fell into a glass table and ended up with a trip to the hospital.  They transferred her to another hospital where a Plastic Surgeon was located, and she has 20 stitches in her poor face!   It sounds like she's going to be alright, but I'm sure she is in pain and needs some time to heal, so I suggested we reschedule for next Wednesday to give her time to heal and not have to worry about us.  I don't know if there is anything we can do for her but I hope she lets us know if there is.

Watching Wimbledon now.  Today is Primary Day, but we have already voted.  I'm anxious to see how the voting comes out.  I would also be very relieved to know that all  the telephone calls and negative mailings would stop now, but I know they will only start up again soon as we head for the ultimate vote in November.

smiley33 I did respond to the last email I got from one of the candidates we actually voted for telling him (or more realistically, his campain) that after we voted for him we received two more hateful mailings and it made me wish I had voted differently.  I know negative advertising does work, but sometimes, when they go to far, it works in reverse.   The mailing I was responding to was informative and helpful and actually listed all the reasons we had voted for him.  The negative crap made me wish I'd voted for his opponent ~~ who also buried us with negative crap.  Last negative loses ~ or something like that.

Good TV last night.  Rizzoli and Isles tonight and Covert Affairs starts.  Not my favorite program, but something to watch.  We also have the "24" we missed last night.   Anything else  I should be looking for?   It's so hard to keep tabs on what's on when anymore.

Lou Ann I hope you get your fan back so you can do the things you need to do in the back room.

Sorry you have to clean, but it's definitely for a good cause ~~ dinner with your friends! I know you'll have a great time!

We also need a grocery delivery, so I think we'll work on that today.  We have them bring all the heavy and bulky things, and then as long as they are coming anyway, we throw in everything else we can think of.  We can go easily a couple of months between deliveries, and then our trips to the grocery store are a lot easier.   Since Marcela won't be coming tomorrow, maybe we'll try for a delivery then ~~ if we can get  ourselves in gear.

Have fun tonight!

Good Morning

It's the morning after the night before, and finding election results is like pulling teeth!   They bombard us endlessly, and then when you look for the results ~~ good luck!   I am nothing if not persistent, though, so I know that my candidates lost.  I was surprised because I actually thought they would win, but I'm not all that disappointed.  The candidates who did win may have a better chance of winning in November, and that's the important thing.   Now, MAYBE we can have a brief respite from all the phone calls and mailings and TV ads ~~ I hope!

While 'our' candidates didn't win, I think the ones who did will be a huge improvement on those currently in office, if they win in November.  In our State Senate race it was really hard to decide between the two. I've been following them both on Facebook to learn as much as I could about them.  The woman who won has really been impressing me.  Everything she posts is something I agree with.  We vacillated between the two candidates until almost the last minute, so I'm happy with her winning.   I think 'our' candidate for Governor was the better man, but the one who won the primary is probably more electable in November.  He had been our Senator several years ago.  He wasn't 'bad', just not great.  It would be nice if he has developed a little sturdier spine in the years he's been out of office.

We didn't get the storms that they had predicted last night either, but Fort Collins got hammered.   We were lucky.

Today since Marcela isn't coming I am going to do my hair color.  No other major plans.   We did set up a Grocery Delivery for tomorrow.  I thought it had only been a few months since the last delivery, but the last delivery was actually in January!

Have a fun evening with your friends!

OMG, poor Marcela. I hope she heals quickly. She must look a fright. Wonder how she went face first into a table?? I think you said a glass table. I cringe thinking about it.

We had a lovely time last night. The ladies arrived with the food right about 5pm.  We ate it...I had 2 crunchy taco supremes, 1 guacamole and chips, oh, and I had to get the little donut hole thingy's that have Cinnabon frosting in the middle and that special cinnamon on the outside. You get 4 balls, so we each had one.  Oh my Lord, I wanted to rip them out of the others hands and eat them all myself. They were to die for. Even my mom loved them. We all wished we had gotten more. By 6pm we were out on the porch, chatting and laughing. We watched a storm come in and go right over us. The wind picked up and it got so cold and then it died down some and then we got a bit of rain. It must have dropped 20 degrees, I loved it. Then my oxygen ran out. I was on my portable tank which only lasts 2-2 1/2 hrs. We still stayed out about another hour, lol.  When we went in it was 9:30pm.The ladies stayed about another hour then went home.  We actually had the TV off all evening.  My headphones for the TV came today and I have them charging so will try them out tomorrow. Also going to give it my all to switch to the new router, as we got the fan back today. Mom is getting pretty disgusted about trying to keep connected.  She does not have a lot of patience any more...in fact she has none. And she is a thrower, slammer when she gets mad. I usually know she is mad at me for something if pans and things are being banged around in the kitchen. Oh well.

I sure wish there was a grocery delivery around here.  There used to be...our Copps had a delivery for a while, but it went out a long time ago. We never used it as we had no trouble getting around in those days. I loved grocery shopping. I love seeing new products to try. I was never one for sticking to my list.  That is not fun.  That is why I like it when mom goes with Suzanne shopping, cause she see's stuff and picks it up. She does not stick to the list as all.

Well, I did the first challenge for this week.  It was a color palette challenge. We were given a site addy of color palettes and we had to chose one from "summer". I  chose this one:

and this is what I came up with.

Hugs,

Hello. It's Thursday, and Grocery Delivery Day.  Did I tell you that when I checked, the last time we had a delivery was in January.

Yesterday I got my hair color in, and I updated and balanced the Budget Book, which should have been done the first of the month.  It definitely makes things harder when you are updating and balancing half of May AND over half of June, but everything balanced perfectly the first time.  Yay.

Once again we didn't get the predicted storms, just a few drops of rain. Today it's supposed to get up to 90 and no rain predicted for today.  Now watch.  Today we WILL get rain.  lol

smiley14

Well looky here ~ I picked this border before I came in here.  Great Minds!

I know.  Just the image of Marcela falling into a glass table on her face ~ shudder.  I'll text her in a day or so and see how she is doing.  I would imagine it will take a long time for her poor face to heal.

Your food last night sounded wonderful!  I've never had Crunchy Tacos.  I can't even imagine them!  The dessert thingys sounded awesome.      Your whole evening sounded just purrrfect.  I'd love sitting out on the porch with friends and watching the weather change and smelling the rain.  That's why I wish our porch were a bit bigger.  I'm so glad you had such a lovely evening

I hope the new router really helps ~~ and your new headphones too!

I do love your challenges.  How clever of you to go from the yummy pink 'sycle' and aquas to the beautiful fairy princess.   You are so clever.  You really keep your creative juices flowing ~ and I get the benefit!  Thank you!!!   I love it!

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE
(Date Posted:06/26/2014 11:46 PM)

I am redoing that tag so do not get attached to it.

I cannot stand what happened to my mask in AS.

So I am turning the  background into a frame.  I

it finished but have not put the names on them yet.

I will do that tomorrow.  Today was a lovely day,

warm with no humidity...twas quite nice.  Before

I can hook up my headphones I need to get a power

strip for behind the TV.  There is no where to add a

another plug in.  Already have the TV, DVD player,

Cable box and Roku all plugged in, so no go till I

get that.  I worked for 1 1/2 hours trying to get

the new router hooked up.  I got my iPad to

recognize it, but it is not configured and is locked.

I have to hook the new one up to follow the

directions on the CD and get the links to get help.

But then I have to hook up the old router to be able

to access internet.  I got so mixed up I had to walk

away and will try again tomorrow.  If I cannot get

it, I will have to call Kermit and see if he can do it

for me.  Should not be too expensive.

OMG, you just made me think that I never balanced

my check book this month...I did mom's and never

did mine.  Should do that tomorrow also, lol.

Found a couple of patterns I like for the afghan...

then started looking for yarn.  Not cheap.  First

went to Mary Maxim and Herrschners but the yarn

was expensive and the shipping fees really shot the

cost up.  So went to Walmart and was going to use

ship to store for free shipping.  I was all set to

check out at Walmart on line when I thought,

I'm just going to check Amazon.  I really was

not happy with the colors I found at Walmart

either.  So looking around on Amazon, found

yarn called Team Spirit and it was variegated

team colors yarn.  There was the Green and

Gold and I had to buy 9 skeins, but it came to

just $30.  Not bad and free 2 day shipping.  I

will have the yarn on Monday.  Walmart would

not have had it for me till the 3rd.  So now I just

have to decide which pattern to go with.  One

says it can be crocheted in 5 1/2 hours.  Not that

would be wonderful.  I am leaning toward it so

that I do not stress over it, lol.  I do love the other

pattern but it would really look best in 3 yarn

colors.  So will go with the quick one.

I cannot believe it is Friday already.  Where does

the time go.   Monday I go for the Chest Cat Scan.

But I do not see Dr. Hatahet till the end of July.

I am sure if there is anything wrong in the scan

they will call me sooner...but I will worry the

whole time till the appt because that is what I do.

LOL, sound like anyone we know...Dorothy?

Anyway, time to say good night and I will chat

with you tomorrow.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE
(Date Posted:06/27/2014 8:38 AM)

Hello

Looks like we made it through another week. Hooray!

Busy day yesterday.  Mike got the garbage out by 7 and brought the can in by 9.  I signed in here and checked my email and then got dressed and we had breakfast and went out on the porch for coffee and to wait for our grocery delivery.  Their "Window" was 10 to 12, and he didn't get here until maybe a quarter to 12.  In the meantime, it was lovely on the porch and we had a little chat with Barbara.  We hadn't actually seen her to talk to since she got back from Guatemala, and she's leaving for Niger on the 13th.

I was laughing (sort of) at Barbara talking about her week in Guatemala.  OhMyGosh it sounded rough. She was there to (are you ready for this?) learn Dentistry so she can pull the teeth that are causing the infection she is treating!  She couldn't sleep in the net hammock with netting around it because it hurt her shoulder so she slept in a sleeping bag on the dirt floor ~~ and ended up covered with bites!  They bathed in the river where the water is muddy AND all the villagers are around watching and she wasn't crazy about being necked in front of the whole village, so she said "Thank goodness for Baby Wipes".   Truly, I don't know how she does it.

So, the delivery guy got here around a quarter to 12, and by a quarter after he had brought everything into the house or the garage and we had it all put away!     And in addition, we were able to entertain the neighborhood.  There is so much that is good about being here, but LORD this is the nosiest neighborhood!  lol.

Slight downside ~ the delivery guy left footprints on the wood floor ~ and so did my dear husband.  We sprayed Miracle Grow on the flowers and he  got his big feet in the dripped water and didn't wipe them before coming in.  He's lucky the delivery guy got the floor dirty too,or HE would be the one washing it today.  It isn't the easiest thing for me to do so I grumble, but believe me when I say I do know how lucky I am.

Today and tomorrow the neighborhood is having Garage Sales. They advertised together on Craig's list and in the paper. If I could walk like a human being, it would be fun to walk from sale to sale and see what they had out and visit a bit.  Since I can't, I'll just watch the traffic congestion from the porch.   I just realized that today is lawn mowing day, too.   I wonder how THAT will work?   I may have some fun being a nosy neighbor myself, today.

smiley2

Boy, I see nothing wrong with my new tag, but I'll hold off on using it until YOU are happy with it.

It did get up to the low 90s yesterday, but it was cool and beautiful on the covered porch.  A bit warm when I went out to get the mail, but not bad.

All the things plugged in made me think of the plug-in in "A Christmas Story" ~~ which of course made me think of the same kinds of things in my youth.  LOL  We've come a long way, Baby.    I'm really impressed with all you do with the hardware.  I used to be fairly competent, but since I've turned everything over to Mike, I'm not totally sure I can do more than just turn the set on and off.  Not a good situation to be in.  I really need to at least take some notes in case he ever leaves me for a long legged brunette.

As you were talking about the yarn, I was wondering about Amazon.  It really is hard to buy things online without being able to see the 'real' colors and touch the fabric, but that's what I have to do,too.  Most of the time, it's fine, and I'm sure the Afghan will be lovely.

Oooh, I "hear" you about getting the test at the first of the month and then having to wait until the end of the month to get the results!  Torture.  Of course you are right ~ if anything is wrong they will call before then, but still . . .

I just started reading a new Monica Ferris mystery and I wondered if you read her?  Her protagonist owns a yarn and needlework shop and of course she is an amateur sleuth.  Might be something you would enjoy, if you don't already. They are set in small town Minnesota.

Have a great day!

OOH, I LOVE THIS BORDER SO MUCH THAT I JUST HAD TO BORROW IT.

I DID NOTHING TODAY.  ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.  WELL I DID DO ABOUT 3

JIGSAW PUZZLES ON MY IPAD, LOL.  PLAYED SOME GAMES.  I START

LOOKING AT ALL THOSE VIDEOS ON FACEBOOK AND ONE LEADS TO

ANOTHER AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, THE DAY IS GONE.  THAT DREADED

COUSIN CALLED AGAIN BUT I LET IT RING BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS

HER AND WAS LETTING MY MOM PICK UP OUTSIDE.  BUT SHE DID NOT

AND IT TOOK A MESSAGE.  MORE ENDLESS RATTLING ON AND ON.

I DID NOT THINK THE MACHINE WOULD TAKE THAT LONG A MESSAGE.

NOT CALLING BACK AND NOT ANSWERING HER CALLS.  MAYBE SHE

WILL TAKE THE HINT.  IF NOT I WILL CLAIM THE MACHINE DOES NOT

WORK RIGHT AND MESSAGES WERE NEVER GOTTEN.  I KNOW IT IS

TERRIBLE...BUT WOULD IT BE BETTER TO TELL HER SHE IN MENTALLY

ILL AND THAT I CANNOT STAND TO LISTEN TO HER GO ON AND ON ABOUT

INANE CRAP HALF OF WHICH I CANNOT UNDERSTAND.  THIS IS THE 2ND

TIME THEY ARE BEING EVICTED AND ARE ASKING THE FAMILY FOR MONEY.

OTHERWISE WE WOULD NOT BE HEARING FROM HER.  IT IS AWFUL WHEN

YOU DREAD HEARING THE PHONE RING.

OH, IT WOULD BE A LOT OF FUN TO RUMMAGE AROUND YOU, SINCE MOST

OF THE NEIGHBORS HAVE MONEY, THEY SHOULD BE SELLING NICE

THINGS.  OH TO BE ABLE TO WALK LIKE A REAL PERSON.  YOU AND MIKE

REALLY NEED TO GET SCOOTERS SO THAT YOU CAN MAKE IT AROUND

YOU NEIGHBORHOOD.  SOUNDS AS IF YOU HAS A PRODUCTIVE DAY EVEN

IF IT WAS NOT WHAT YOU WANTED TO DO, LOL.  POOR MIKE LUCKED

OUT.  THANK GOODNESS FOR THE DELIVERY MAN.

WELL, TIME TO MOVE ON.  CHAT WITH YOU TOMORROW.

HUGS,

After the rain, the rainbow.

Good Morning!

Poopy day yesterday.  Chrystie sits and sneezes and deposits cat hair on the one upholstered chair in the Man Cave.  I ordered a chair cover to put over it when we aren't expecting company because there is no way to keep ahead of Chrystie in keeping it clean.  Sooo, first I used an upholstery brush to get as much hair up as I could, and I was shocked at how much there was!  Marcela apparently never vacuums it, and I haven't either for quite a while.  It was BAD.  Mike pitched in and vacuumed after I brushed ~ and brushed and brushed.  Then we put the slip cover thingy on.  I knew it wouldn't fit but simply cover, but I didn't know it would take an act of God to get the darned thing positioned!  By the time we had the chair cleaned and the cover on, I was in a really foul mood.  I had hoped to tackle the couch in the Morning Room, but my back was screaming.   I didn't even get the floor washed.  Phooey!

Then late in  the afternoon it rained buckets and when I looked out of the window I could see both sides of the rainbow.  Think about that, Dorothy.  After the rain . . . the rainbow.

I woke up at 3:30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, but even so I am in a much better mood.   No need to run and hide.  I won't bite now.

smiley17

A do nothing day ~~ what could be lovelier?!

Laughing at your poor cousin's phone call ~ and I have to say, I would handle it the exact same way.   Maybe it's even the best way ~ she gets to talk and you don't have to listen.  Ha!

One of my online friends said she didn't go to garage sales because "if they are getting rid of it, why should I want it?"  HA!  I do suspect there is a lot of GOOD stuff being put out for sale, but since we have way too MUCH stuff, I don't think I would go to buy even if I could walk like a real person.   Sheri, who used to live across the street from us but now lives farther up the street has tons of antiques ~ many in storage PLUS she works part time for an auction house.  I know her 'stuff' is really GOOD stuff and the kind of things I might want if I had a place for them.  Joanne and Carol (the gals we loan our British DVDs to) sent an email to the neighbors a few weeks ago listing all sorts of things they were trying to sell before there was any mention of garage sales, all of it really nice.  They apparently go on lovely trips and buy things and then get home and say "What were we thinking?  We don't need this!"  LOL  Now that, I can relate to.   Others appear to have a lot of children's things (grandkids, I'm guessing).  I know not what all.    I do  think if you lived nearby it might be fun to peruse the goodies.

smiley37

Well, now, today I COULD tackle the couch in the Morning Room.  We Even bought a hand steamer to hopefully clean it better once I get the cat hair up.   OR I could wash the wood floor.   OR I could go through some drawers and sort and file paperwork.  Or I could just sit on the porch and watch the neighbors.   What to do, what to do?  smiley62

Have a Swell Saturday!

FIRST AND FOREMOST, MY AC IS IN AND HOPEFULLY TOMORROW MOMS GOES IN.  I CANNOT WAIT TO GO TO SLEEP TONIGHT.  TODAY WAS NASTY, HIGH 8O'S AND HIGH HUMIDITY.  YUCK.  BUT WE KNOW MY AC CANNOT HANDLE THE WHOLE APT SO WE DID NOT TRY.

I REMEMBER HOW BAD MY FURNITURE USED TO BE WHEN NOVIA SHED ALL OVER IT.  IT HAD A VELVETY FINISH SO THE FUR REALLY STUCK TO IT LIKE VELCRO.  IT WAS HARD.  I USED ONE OF THOSE STICKY ROLL THINGS AND VACUUM.  SOMETIMES EVEN MASKING TAPE, LOL.

NO PLANS FOR TOMORROW.  WILL DO UP DISHES IN THE MORNING IF IT IS NOT TO UNGODLY HOT IN THERE.  I WILL TURN THE FAN ON HIGH.  MOM DID NOT FEEL LIKE COOKING TONIGHT AND SHE POPPED FOR A&W.  SUZ AND JORDAN AND SOME OF HIS FRIENDS HAD JUST FINISHED PUTTING IN THE AC SO THEY RAN FOR US.  I HAD A PAPA BURGER, MOM HAD THE MUSHROOM BURGER AND WE FRIES & RINGS AND WE BOTH HAD AN ICE COLD ROOT BEER.  IN MY OPINION, THE ROOT BEER WAS THE HIGH LIGHT.  SO COLD AND REFRESHING.  IF IT IS HOT AGAIN TOMORROW I THINK I WILL GET US SOMETHING FROM SOMEWHERE THAT DELIVERS.  WE HAVE ENOUGH COUPONS FROM PIZZAVILLE TO GET A FREE CHICKEN DINNER SO I WOULD ONLY HAVE TO BUY MOM'S BBQ RIB DINNER.  MIGHT GO THAT ROUTE.

AS FAR AS RUMMAGE SALES GO, YOU KNOW THE SAYING           "ONE MANS TRASH IS ANOTHER MANS TREASURE"              AND THAT IS SO TRUE.  WHEN PEOPLE DECIDE TO GO WITH A NEW LOOK AND SELL THE OTHER...THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT IS TRASH.  I HAVE GOTTEN SOME GREAT STUFF AT RUMMAGE SALES OVER THE YEARS.  BUT IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I HAVE BEEN TO ONE SINCE I CANNOT WALK THEM.

I JUST HAVE TO SHARE SOME PICKS OF LIAM, HE IS 12 WEEKS OLD TODAY AND IS SO MUCH MORE FUN WITH QUITE THE PERSONALITY.

AND SO AS NOT TO LEAVE OUT FINN.  TRICIA IS AFRAID IF THEY CUT HIS HAIR HIS CURLS WILL BE GONE SO SHE PUT IT IN A PONY TAIL....REID WOULD NOT HAVE IT, HE DID NOT LIKE IT AT ALL, LOL.

I AM GOING TO SHOW YOU WHAT THE TAG SHOULD HAVE LOOKED LIKE.  SO HERE IT IS BEFORE I WENT TO AS.

AND HERE IT IS AFTER ANIMATION ADDED AND SAVED.

THE PNG SAVE DOES NOT SOLIDIFY THE MISTED AREA AS BADLY AS THE GIF DOES...BUT NO WAY TO SAVE ANI AS A PNG OR IF THERE IS I DO NOT KNOW HOW.  I WILL HAVE TO ASK IN THE GROUP.  SO HERE IS WHAT I DID TO FIX THEM.

HUGS,

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE
(Date Posted:06/29/2014 7:08 AM)

Another night with insufficient sleep.  This is getting old ~ and so am I. I think I've had maybe 7 hours of sleep in the last two nights.  Of course I do keep falling asleep in front of the TV, so I make up for some of it, but STILL . . . .

We did actually get some things done yesterday.   I brushed and removed as much cat hair as possible from the couch in the Morning Room and then vacuumed it.  Then I tried out the new steamer on one cushion ~ and that didn't go so well.  It may look better this morning (I hope!) but I am going to try again to see if I can even out the blotchy look and remove some more cat snot.  (And yes, I do realize how awful that sounds.)  If I can't make it look good, I can just flip that cushion over, but that means I can't "fix" the rest of the couch.   Wish me luck!!

While I was fighting the couch, Mike damp mopped the wood floor for me, and did a better job than I would have.  Things look pretty good except for the couch.   I did buy a throw for that, too, that I will put on if and when I get the couch cleaned ~ or decide to give up.  The cats both live on that couch much of the time.  Funny, we've had it since we moved here 22 years ago and it was still in great shape until we got Shogun.   He gets his hair all over it, and since he does, Chrystie has decided she wants to sleep on it too.  She never did before.  Of course she has to blow her nose wherever she spends a lot of time.  Poor couch.  If it weren't so comfy and such a pretty teal color, I'd just say it's time to replace it.

It looked like they were doing a great business at the Garage Sale yesterday morning.  Lots of traffic, anyway.

smiley16

Oooh, Baby, Baby!   Look at all the adorable pictures!  I have to kind of agree that putting Finn's hair into a pony tail might not be the best idea ~~ though I surely understand doing it to save those beautiful curls!    Liam is tooooo adorable!  Hard to believe he's already 12 weeks old!

I do see what you mean about the tag, though I liked it so much I saved it TOO.   I hate what happens when you save something as a .gif.  It will be just perfect, then you save and Poof!  It's solid and often with an outline!  At least  that's what used to happen to me when I was still doing PSP.  Now I do so very little, I have no idea what would happen.  ha.   Anyway, I love the new tag too!  Thank you.

HOORAY!  Your AC  is in!   I worry about you when it is not and  you have such high humidity and temps.   When you say 'your mom's AC', I'm assuming you mean the one  in the main part of the  house, and that she doesn't have one in her bedroom?

I think carry out on these hot nights is just purrrfect.  We had talked about going out for lunch today, but after my second no-sleep night, I really don't want to.  Luckily for me, Mike asked if we shouldn't skip going out for today.  I know how much he enjoys it so I hate to say "I don't want to go", but today I really don't want to.  I'm not sure what we will make, but I'm sure we won't starve. smiley80

I am not even going to bother with a border.

But I am loving all the ones you are bringing to the pages.

Are you getting them from the other group?  They are all

so pretty.  I was to bed late last night and woke up at

6am freezing.  Did not want to mess with my Cpap so just

pulled a blanket over me and went back to sleep until 9:30.

Holy Moly.  Got up and when I walked out of my room it felt

like I walked into an oven.  Did the dishes and then breakfast

of a warmed up Everything bagel with butter and Crangrape

juice.  No, we do not have an AC in the main part of the house.

Mom puts one in her bedroom, but she is not longer sleeping

in there.  She sleeps in the living room.  We had a brief

discussion about putting it in the living room instead, but

then there would be nothing to cool the kitchen and bath.

Though it really does not go in there well anyway.  I have to

leave my bedroom door open, which is not the best option.

The ideal way would be to put one in the living room, my

bedroom and one in the kitchen, but mom is not really willing

to consider running 3 AC's.  The one in my room was in my

sisters first small home and then her trailer.  When they got

a new trailer it came with AC so they gave it to us.  It is

well over 25 years old.  At some point the freon has to run

out.  The one in moms room is a room AC.  We run them both

in hopes of cooling the whole place down.

I really wish you were sleeping better.  You really should

talk to your doctor about it.  Maybe you will feel more like

going out to eat tomorrow.

OMG, tomorrow is the last day of the month and I have not

even started making the the monthly page and skin.  I have

the cat scan tomorrow, so I am going to be way behind.  I will

do what I can and catch up a day late on what I do not get done.

Cross your fingers for the page and skin and say a little

prayer for me and the cat scan.

Have a wonderful Monday.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE
(Date Posted:06/30/2014 8:50 AM)

Good Morning

It's the last day of June ~ hard to believe.  I need to put up a new "skin" for the other group, and I don't want to.  I've really been enjoying the yellow roses.   The fact that they are actually from a photo of roses my great niece gave for my birthday some years ago has nothing to do with it, of course.

Yesterday I got more work done ~~ and I wish I hadn't.  I steam cleaned both seat cushions on the couch (hide-a-bed) in the Morning Room, and they look awful.  Fortunately I can turn them over so the un-ruined sides are up.  Unfortunately, I can't keep going and steam clean the back of the couch.   I will call someone to professionally clean it, but I fear they won't have better luck than I did.  It's 22 years old, teal velveteen and covered with cat sneeze.  Sadder yet, bot Mike and I really love that couch.  We had it made when we moved here 22 years ago, by a company that is not still in business.  Because it's a hide-a-bed, we can use it for overnight guests if we absolutely have to, and as a couch it's extremely comfortable.  Until a year or two ago, it looked like new.  (I may cry).  I ordered a slip cover throw to go over it, which we put on last night.   It doesn't look bad, but definitely not as good as the couch looked before the cats adopted it.

Another bad night's sleep last night, though not quite as bad as the nights before.  I'm beginning to froth at the mouth ~ beware.   Definitely going to take a benedryl tonight!

And that's most of my bytching for today.    And how is YOUR day?

Lou Ann, you know how I love ~~ and often steal ~~ all the beautiful borders YOU put up.   Yes, the ones I  haven't stolen from you come from  the other group.  I made a lot of  them before Aimoo trashed my html codes, and a lot of the borders are ones we moved over from MSN!  Barb makes a lot of borders and so do some of the other gals.   I do love using and seeing the pretty borders.

How funny that you woke up freezing, but you were able to go back to sleep.  I am so jealous that you slept until  9:30!  Hooray for  your room AC!!   You would love being in our house,  I think.  Your mom would hate it.  She would have to join me in bundling up.  lol    I do love Central Air BUT there is still no way to regulate between those who are always too hot and those who are always too cold.

Good luck with your cat scan ~~ and please don't worry about leaving your beautiful June skin up for another day or several, or even not getting a new July Sign In up for a while.  It's just thee and me signing in, and I'm happy to wait!

I almost forgot to tell you that I texted with Marcela yesterday and she is having the stitches taken out today.  She's still sore but feeling better.   She has also started working for a friend who is opening a new Czech restaurant in Longmont so she is changing her days with us.  This week she will come on Thursday.   Right now the house looks about as good as it usually does after she leaves (Yay Mike and Me!)
