RE:WELCOME TO JUNE
(Date Posted:06/07/2014 9:33 AM)

Oh, yes.  This message is brought to you by the number 16.

Good Morning!

Mike went to see his Eye Dr yesterday morning.  He has a cataract on one eye that is getting bigger but on the other eye there is a small one that is not getting bigger.  The Dr feels that they should do both eyes at the same time because it would be hard to correct his glasses to accommodate both eyes otherwise.   So . . . See you in six months.    On a very positive note, his eyes are healthy otherwise.  No Glaucoma and no Macular Degeneration.

Afterwards we did go for a lovely lunch at 240 Union yesterday.  I had a delicious curry chicken salad served with Pita Bread toast points, and Mike had an Avocado/Pineapple/Shrimp Cocktail.  So different and so delicious.  Then he had the best halibut I think I've ever had ` seared and served with small cut up veggies in a lemon cream sauce.  To die for!

It may be worthy of marking on a calendar ~~ you know how I hate cauliflower.  I don't believe there is any way it can be prepared that I haven't tried and it's consistently disgusting to me.  There were small cauliflowers included with Mike's veggies in the lemon cream sauce and he put one on my plate.  I told him to remove it immediately and he told me to eat it.  Just to prove ~ once again ~ that I am not one of those people who make up their minds not to like something and then refuse to try it ever again (and because it was a very small piece), I tried it.   It was NOT repulsive!   Not all the way to good or anything, but definitely not disgusting!  Amazing!

When we got home, the Boston Fern (Barb Fern?) was waiting.   What do you think?  Too much?  Too little??  Just right???

Really hard to get decent pictures through the glass.

It's pretty chilly today, only supposed to get into the 60s or very low 70s with rain.  We may not be sitting out on the porch today.

Definitely no apology needed.  You weren't being childish OR stupid.  You felt bad and needed someone to care and you thought I didn't.  I did, and do.  Easy to miss reading back-to-back posts, especially when you are hurting or feeling bad.   I wish there were something more significant I could do when you are feeling bad, but other than a few words there really isn't.  I need you to know that if I breeze on to other topics it doesn't mean I don't hurt with you and wish so much I could fix whatever it is that is hurting you.

Will the cellulitis clear up with the antibiotics?  I hope so!   Then a nice "reward lunch" at A&W!    Who took you?

I will email my address to you.  I'm a bit hesitant to just post it.  My gosh, you do so much for me already ~ what else could you have up your seeve?!  Hmmmm.

You want to compare levels of unmotivated?  I haven't a minutes doubt that I'd win, hands down.  LOL

Have a great rest of the day!

Love and Hugs,

(Date Posted:06/07/2014 11:00 PM)

OMG, your food sounds so delicious.  I want it!!  It puts A&W
in the dumper, lol.   I know you do not like cauliflower, but I love
it.  We are growing it in out garden.  I like it raw with dip, cooked alone, cooked with a cheese sauce over it.  Raw in salads, one of out favorite it broccoli, cauliflower, onions, bacon bits and sunflower seeds in a sweet sour sauce.  Pizzaville has deep fried cheesy cauliflower...I love it all, lol.
Ok, I love the shower plants.  I think it is just right. I would not change it at all.
Glad to hear Mike's eyes are healthy other then the little cataracts.  Mom has the beginning of macular degeneration.
She takes Eye Vitamins for it and it has not gotten any worse.
Today was gorgeous and in the 80's.  Which is a good thing
for the city as it is Walleye Weekend...the big fishing competition
festival at the park.  Storms came in around 6pm and must have shut a lot of stuff down in the park.  A couple of big concerts were scheduled for tonight.  All the food and beer vender's are
non profit service groups and WW is their biggest fund raiser.
I miss being able to go.  They have the worlds biggest fish fry that is more than delicious.  I really miss that.
Suz took us to our appts yesterday so she ran us to A&W and we got our food to go.  Our A&W is still a drive-in.  So you eat in your car or they do have an area with benches and umbrellas.  But we got ours to go.
I got your address, thank you.  Will let you know when I send the gift so you can watch for it.  Right now I need to get the right packaging.  So it will be a bit yet.
Have a Blessed Sunday.
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE
(Date Posted:06/08/2014 9:27 AM)

Hello Sweet Friend.   How's your Sunday going?

We never did get our rain yesterday.  It's supposed to be cooler and rainy again today.  We'll see.  All I know is that it wasn't bright early in the morning, so we both slept late.  Lovely.  Usually even with the wood blinds the sun wakes us up early.

We sat out on the porch yesterday morning and waved to several neighbors.  Then Bill's wife Vee drove by, and stopped for a visit.  We hadn't chatted with her for a while.  She and Bill keep the neighborhood lawns and common area looking lovely ~ Bill calls the landscapers and does way too much himself with whatever needs to be done.  Vee weeds and trims in the common area and anywhere else she sees something not quite right.  So, it meant a lot when she was so complimentary on how everything looked at our house.  Mike said "Finally!"  Ha.  It sure didn't look the way we wanted it to last year.    Another couple of neighbors walked by on their way back from a walk and Vee told us that Margie had recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's and that was why they put up the new railing on their front steps.  She knew exercise was good for Parkinson's patients and she was doing everything she could to keep healthy.  Margie is a lovely woman and I was sorry to hear it, but I'm sure she'll do fine.

Vee also made us promise to try to come to the annual 4th of July Block Party and assured us that we could find a parking spot if we drove down to the area where it's held.  I'm not sure she is right, but we did promise to try.   There are chairs but again everyone stands so it's isolating.  Still we stayed home from the first three Block Parties and we really would like to go.

I'm making a meat loaf for dinner, and aside from that we have no plans.   How 'bout you?

smiley23

Barb mentioned yesterday that she didn't like curry, and I was telling her about one of the B&W Sherlock Homes movies we sometimes watch and have often laughed about.  Sherlock and Watson were on a train and one of the offerings for dinner was curry.  Sherlock said "Curry ~ awful stuff!  I'll have the Sole".  Of course said with the utter distain as only Sherlock Holmes could.  Was funny ~ you probably had to be there.  LOL  As I read of your love for Cauliflower, my thought was . . . Cauliflower ~ Awful Stuff!   Ha!

I'm so glad you like my Guest Bath 'Greenhouse' too.  Makes me feel more assured that I didn't jump off the deep end.

Oooh, Walleye Weekend!  I can feel Mike turning green even before I share this with him!   Of course we wouldn't be able to go either and walk (and walk and walk) among the crowds.  I do miss doing that at Art Fairs and such ~~ but at the world's biggest fish fry, and much of that fish being walleye ~ yup.  I'm envious, too!

We never get Walleye, and when Mike checks online the price is through the roof and beyond, largely but not entirely because of the shipping.   My Aunt Jean should never have introduced him to Walleye. Ha!

Oooh, I would never put down A&W Drive In Food ~ how I used to love it.  A BBQ and a Root Beer Float for me, if you please.   We don't go to 240 Union often, but I 'owed' Mike for so many things he'd been doing for me so I took him, my treat.  They do have really creative and good food.  They used to be a sister restaurant to Strings (I know I've talked about that).  The owner of Strings was an amazing man who did so much charity work, and created one of our very favorite restaurants as well.  He apparently had some problems with depression and he met this woman who was also seeking help for mental health issues and married her.   It was all downhill from there and a year or so ago, he killed himself.  What a loss to the world.  She took over the restaurant and changed it from the lovely place we loved to a (I can't think of the word ~ much more casual place with a different menu).  Less than a year later it went out of business.

I can't even imagine what my gift might be. I should tell you not to send me anything ~ but you know I won't.  I can't wait to see what your creative mind has come up with!

Have a Fantabulous Day, and here is something to ponder ~

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE
(Date Posted:06/08/2014 10:53 PM)

Absolutely gorgeous day today and no rain.
I got up in a good mood, it was a great Cpap night.
Registered for my whole sleep period.  The strips seem
to be doing the trick and making my sleep so much better
with the Cpap.  I find I am not as tired.
Cleaned up the kitchen and did the dishes.
Then on to breakfast, today I had peanut butter and
strawberry jam on bread.  Delish!
Spent the morning on the iPad and the afternoon on
the laptop.  Do not want them to be jealous of each other.
...snicker, snort...
The Walleye are caught right in our lake.  Though they
bring in more for the fish fry.  We used to love going.
When we were all younger (much) my brother and sisters
were often in the volleyball tournaments.  We would go out
to watch them and wander the park.  Listen to bands, enjoy
the shows (have seen lumberjack shows, sport dog shows,
birds of prey shows, magicians etc.  There is a Family Land
area with all kinds of things for kids to do and shows for
them.  Then there is the food at the food booths all over.
At the time my sibs were all in the JayCee's and we would
give our business to their tent and often my sibs would be
working them.  We used to do so much and now we do
nothing....our lives are so boring.
I love that your neighbors will stop and visit when you
are on the porch, ours do too.  We miss seeing them all
Winter and spend the Summer catching up again.
I cannot believe another week is starting.  I just do not
know where the time goes.
This tag challenge was to use one of a certain members tuts.
She has so many nice ones it was hard to decide.  I know
they are big, feel free to resize whenever you like.
Time to fit a treatment in and then off to Lalaland.
Good night and have a marvelous Monday.
Hugs,

Good Morning.  Welcome to a brand new week.

smiley14

Lou Ann, thank you for the beautiful new Fairy Tags!  I am so spoiled ~ but I do love and appreciate it!!

I am SO glad that you are sleeping through the night with the CPAP and waking up feeling refreshed!  One can tackle anything with a good night's sleep!    Peanut butter and strawberry jam on bread sounds like the perfect breakfast ~~ fruit, grain and protein.  What more does one need?

I'm also glad to hear that you are thinking of both of your children and giving them equal time so they don't become jealous.  I'm afraid that since I got my iPhone and my Paperwhite,  my poor iPad isn't getting much attention.  It's been living in a drawer much of the time, poor thing.   It pays me back by making me take half an hour to delete all the emails though.  Ha.

I thought I'd share some pictures this morning.  We have been adding Miracle Grow to the outside plants that we water from the deck, and they are really doing well.

The new Lilacs still have a long way to go, but they are healthy and have lots of buds. Ditto the Mock Orange. The original Lilac has finished blooming, but it was heavenly to smell while it lasted.

The Potentilla are having a growth spurt and no longer have the perfectly rounded shape the trimmers left them with but they are full and healthy. We have two in the back yard that are not getting the miracle grow but are really growing quite large and maintaining their shape, but with fewer blossoms.

Where I see a real difference using the Miracle Grow is with the petunias.

Now if I just hadn't screwed up two of the four pots by putting all red and purple in one and all pink and purple in another instead of all three colors in all four!  Ah, well.

smiley14

Barb is having her next blood test tomorrow and will meet with the kidney Dr the week after (I think).  I know you've been praying for her too, that the next test will show some improvement in  her kidney function.  We're just asking for it to improve from 15% to 16%.  That's something that I think would "shock and amaze" the Kidney Dr ~ and then, of course, we'll aim for the number 17.  Give  us an inch . . smiley80   For now, we'll all be thrilled with the lovely number 16.

Matthew 18:19 ~     "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in Heaven"

Unfortunately, the Kidney and Dialysis Drs are looking at the current facts and not prayers, so in preparation for what  they feel is inevitable, Dialysis, tomorrow she will go in for surgery to have the ports put into her arm, so that when the time comes she will be ready.    Please add your prayers for her surgery, that it is successful, and pain and stress free and doesn't give her any trouble afterwards.

And for the lovely Number 16.

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE
(Date Posted:06/09/2014 9:45 PM)

I AM NOT SO SURE ABOUT THIS NEW TAG...IT KIND OF BLOWS
THE MIND, LOL.  THE CHALLENGE WAS TO USE A FORUM TEMPLATE
MADE BY SPAWN....SO WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU?  NOPE, I REALLY
CANNOT BLAME HIM...I MADE IT THIS WAY.
I SPENT MY DAY JUMPING THROUGH BUREAUCRATIC HOOPS TODAY
AND REALLY GOT NO WHERE.
I GOT A LETTER FROM THE STATE TODAY SAYING THEY NEED A STATEMENT FROM MY LIFE INSURANCE ABOUT THE CURRENT CASH VALUE OF THE POLICY.  I HAD ALREADY SENT THE POLICY THAT STATES THERE IS NO CASH VALUE TO THE POLICY UNTIL DEATH.  BUT THEY WANTED A STATEMENT AND NEED IT BY THE 11TH.  THAT WAS OK WHEN IT WAS MID MAY BUT NOW IT IS ONLY 2 DAYS AWAY.  SO I CALL INSURANCE AND THEY WILL MAIL TO ME...7-10 DAYS...NO, I NEED NOW SO THEY COULD FAX TO ME.  I HAVE NO FAX.  SO MAIL IT AND I WILL BE LATE AND CAUSE MORE ISSUES.  THEN I REMEMBER THAT LOUANN AND BRUCE HAVE FAX IN BRUCE'S OFFICE SO I CALL AND ASK THEM CAN THEY HELP AND OF COURSE THEY SAID YES.  SO I CALL AND TELL INSURANCE THAT I WENT TO MY FRIENDS WHO HAVE FAX AND CAN THEY SEND IT TO ME THERE?  YES AND THEY DID.  THEN I SCANNED THE COVER SHEET INTO THE COMPUTER AND ATTACHED IT TO AN EMAIL TO BRUCE SO THAT HE COULD FAX IT TO THE STATE AGENCY.  HE TRIED ALL AFTERNOON AND IT WOULD NOT GO THROUGH SO CALLED ME AROUND 4 AND SAID CAN YOU SEE IF THEY HAVE ANOTHER FAX NUMBER.  SO I CALL THE STATE AGENCY AND SHE TELLS ME SHE HAS HAD NOT COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT BUT GAVE ME HER DIRECT FAX NUMBER THAT I COULD GIVE BRUCE AND WOULD CALL ME BACK IN ABOUT 15 MIN TO LET ME KNOW SHE RECEIVED IT.  BRUCE SENT TO THAT NUMBER AND IT WENT THROUGH RIGHT AWAY.  YAY.  BUT THE WOMAN FROM THE STATE NEVER CONFIRMED THE RECEIPT OF IT.
SO NOW WHAT DO I DO?  I DO NOT KNOW THE WOMAN'S NAME.  SO I
HAVE NO WAY TO CONTACT HER SPECIFICALLY.  I COULD SCREAM.  IF LOUANN IS COMING INTO TOWN TOMORROW, I THINK I AM GOING TO ASK HER TO BRING THEM IN AND DROP THEM OFF AT THE LOCAL OFFICE.  THEN I WOULD AT LEAST KNOW ONE OF THEM WAS RECEIVED.
YOUR FLOWERS ARE LOOKING FANTASTIC.  AND THEY LOOK PERFECT THE WAY THEY ARE.  SAID PRAYERS FOR BARB AND ASKED GOD FOR THE NUMBER 16 AND IF HE FELT LIKE IT, HER COULD JACK IT UP A LITTLE HIGHER THAN THAT, LOL.
I HAD A GOOD NIGHT WITH THE C-PAP AGAIN.  IT REALLY SEEMS THAT THE BREATHING STRIP MAKES SUCH A DIFFERENCE FOR ME.
MOM AND DIANE ARE MAKING PLANS TO GO TO ARKANSAS TO SEE MY BROTHER AND HIS FAMILY AND WILL BE GONE FOR A WEEK.  THE WEEKEND AFTER THEY GET BACK THEY ARE GOING FOR A LONG WEEKEND IN TENNESSEE BY MY AUNT FRAN.  MY COUSIN PAULA IS GOING TO BRING MY AUNT VELMA AND MY UNCLE DICK WILL FLY IN.  SO THE HUNTER SIBLINGS WILL ALL BE TOGETHER AGAIN.  IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS SINCE THEY HAVE SEEN EACH OTHER AND THEY ARE NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER.  MOM IS THE YOUNGEST GIRL AND UNCLE DICK IS THE YOUNGEST.  MOM WILL BE 82 IN AUGUST SO VELMA AND FRAN ARE OLDER.  AUNT VELMA'S MEMORY IS A LOT WORSE THAN MY MOMS.  SO WE NEED TO GET THEM TOGETHER.  SO I WILL BE HAVING SOME ME TIME THIS SUMMER.  IT ALWAYS STARTS GOOD BUT AS THE WEEK GOES ON I GET LONELY AND THEN MY DEPRESSION KICKS IN.  SO I WILL HAVE TO TRY AND PLAN SOME GET TOGETHERS FOR THAT TIME FRAME.  SO I HAVE SOMEONE TO TALK TO FACE TO FACE.  I USED TO THINK AS LONG AS I HAVE A GOOD BOOK, I DO NOT NEED ANYTHING ELSE...BUT I WAS WRONG.  I WOULD NOT DO WELL IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT.  DAMN, I HATE IT WHEN I ONLY GET 2 ROWS OF SMILIES.
SO I AM GOING TO SAY GOOD NIGHT AND SEE YOU TOMORROW.
HUGS,

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE
(Date Posted:06/10/2014 9:29 AM)

Good Morning.

Whee ~ another great new tag!   Thank You!    Good advice ~ I had another rough night and I managed  to share it with Poor Mike.   If I really could Free My Mind, I think my sleeping would be better.   Last night involved the coughing, though, so maybe a free'd up mind  wouldn't have helped.

OhMyGosh, what a mess with the Insurance!  They couldn't have let you know a little earlier?   Aarrgghh.  I hope and  pray it got to her on time ~ and she didn't take the week off.  They are so casual with our lives!

I have a fraudulent charge on my Chase bill.   I submitted it to them on line a few weeks ago when I discovered it and last night got the papers the Company that has the charge sent them (Chase).  It's apparently a money transfer to someone else that of course I don't know and didn't make.   So this morning I need to call Chase and say that is definitely not my charge and for them to proceed with a fraud investigation.  It looks  to me like it was actually made in person In ENGLAND!   Not unless I've learned to Astral Project.  lol   Weird thing is that the money was transferred to a userid of 'fdanbutcher' (whom, of course, I've never heard of).
I will ask them to cancel my card and issue me a new one.   The charge was made on May 6th and there has been nothing since then, but I hate the thought that someone COULD have access to my card and apparently security code.  I've had this card forever ~ I even have the number memorized, and it's on file with several places I regularly do business with, so it's a serious pain in the tush to change, but I really feel I have to.

Thank you for your prayers for Barb.  We are definitely in agreement.  I've asked for "16" but said we'll happily take a higher number.   Her blood test is today, and then the surgery to implant the port is tomorrow.   God willing, she'll never need to use the port.

I'm so glad the BreathRite strips are making such a great difference for you!

I forgot that your mom's family was the Hunters.  That was my Grandmother's family name, too!  My dad's given name was Hunter, Hunter Johnston.   Small world.  Maybe we are related by some convoluted thread.

Lovely that she can get together with the family, but I know that is going to be a long alone time for you.  I hope friends and family will take advantage of the chance to visit with you.   Maybe you can watch a few more of those "forbidden" movies and shows too, in between visits.

Marcela comes tomorrow morning, so I'll probably be late.
Have a Happy Tuesday.

Good Morning.
I apologize for being mostly AWOL yesterday.  The day really got away from me.
After Marcela left we sat outside for a while.  I am convinced that Fresh Air is NOT good for a person.  When I came in I could hardly hold my eyes open.   I had some things I had to do and then we went out for dinner and came home and watched 'Suits'.   I was way too tired to write a half way intelligent post.

Our Barb has her surgery to implant the ports in preparation for dialysis today.

Lou Ann, I really do feel your pain and frustration!   I've done that to myself more than once, but when it's done TO you it's even more frustrating.   I'm a bit frustrated for myself because I didn't get to see your long post!

I hope all the scans work to clear  up any problems and your PC is healthy!

Have a good day!

HI DOROTHY
LET ME THINK ABOUT WHAT I WROTE.
I HAD ANOTHER ROUND WITH THE STATE ABOUT
THE REQUIRED PAPERWORK.  I WILL NOT GO INTO
IT ALL BUT I WAS SO UNSURE OF THE SITUATION
I ASKED LOUANN TO RUN IT TO THE OFFICES IN TOWN.  JUST SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT TO BEGIN WITH.  THEY FAXED IT TO THE ORIGINAL NUMBER
AND IT WENT THROUGH WITH NO PROBLEMS.  THE NEXT DAY I GOT A CALL FROM THEM AND THEY RECEIVED MY PAPERWORK AND I QUALIFIED SO ALL
IS WELL.  LOUANN AND BRUCE ARE THE BEST FRIENDS A PERSON COULD ASK FOR.
THE LANDLORD HAS BEEN HANGING AROUND AND
PUT SOME PLANTS IN THE GARDEN...ASPARAGUS AND HORSERADISH, I THINK.  NOT SURE THAT HE MENTIONED ANYTHING ELSE.  HE BOUGHT THE PLACE A NEW LAWNMOWER AND MOWED THE LAWN.  HE GOT TERMINATED FROM HIS JOB AT THE GOURMET CHEESE FACTORY SO NO MORE FREE
CHEESE.  THAT IS A GREAT LOSS.  I LOVED IT WHEN HE BROUGHT ME CHEESE...MOM IS NOT A FAN SO IT WAS ALL MINE.
WE ARE GETTING TENANTS IN THE UPPER BACK APT.  IT WAS A YOUNG WOMAN, HER MOTHER AND HER DAUGHTER, BUT NOW SHE TELLS US HER MOTHER HAS BACKED OUT BUT SHE HAS A FRIEND WHO WILL MOVE IN WITH HER.  I DO NOT THINK THIS BODES WELL FROM THE START BUT YOU NEVER KNOW.  I WILL THINK POSITIVE THOUGHTS.
I CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG.  IT IS ONLY WHEN I AM ON THE INTERNET AND AT TIMES I JUST GET THESE POP UPS OVER AND OVER AGAIN, THEY EVEN WILL SHUT DOWN PAGES AND OPEN IT'S OWN PAGE.  I RAN MY VIRUS SCAN, MY MALAWARE SCAN AND MY SPYBOT.  THEY FOUND ISSUES AND DELETED THEM ALL AND MY VIRUS FOUND VIRUS SEVERAL TIMES AND NIPPED IT IN THE BUD.  I EVEN RAN ALL THE COMPUTER MAINTENANCE STUFF AND ALL WAS FINE.  THERE ARE TIMES IT DOES NOT HAPPEN AND THEN TIMES WHEN IN IS INCESSANT.  I THINK IT IS LINKED WITH MY GOOGLE,  AVG JUST POPPED UP AND THIS IS WHAT I GOT.

BUT IT HAS CAUGHT THIS SEVERAL TIMES BUT IT STILL HAPPENS.  I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO.  WOULD MIKE HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR ME.  BRUCE IS A MAC USED AND DOES NOT DEAL WITH THIS TYPE OF THING.
WHERE DID YOU GO OUT TO DINNER TO?  I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU DID NOT SAY.  YOU ALWAYS DO AND YOU TELL ME WHAT YOU ALL ATE.  I HAVE TO LIVE VICARIOUSLY THROUGH YOU SO COUGH IT UP, LOL.
JUNE CHALLENGE WAS TO MAKE A SUMMER FUN
TYPE TAG.  SO THIS IS WHAT I DID,  I JUST COULD NOT FIND ELEMENTS I LIKED TO USE SO ENDED UP KEEPING IT SIMPLE.  I HOPE YOU LIKE IT.

Friday the 13th ~ Beware . . . smiley62

I'm posting tonight because I have a busy morning.   First a haircut, then maybe out to breakfast and then some shopping.  If things go as usual, I'll be pooped by the time I get home ~ lol.

Did you see the Strawberry Moon last night?   It's supposed to be tonight, but it was big and quite pink.  I hope I can get a picture tonight (Friday night).

smiley11

Lou Ann, I'm So glad you got everything done and you are re-qualified!   That has to be a huge relief.  Bless Louann and Bruce!

I think your new landlord has been a blessing too.  I hope he can keep the house and keep it up in spite of the loss of his job.  I love getting the good Wisconsin cheeses, too.  My niece often sends some and we hoard it.

Oh, I hope your new neighbors will be good.  I'm sorry the mother backed out ~ that could have been very good.

I've never gotten that particular warning.   When I had a Google Tool Bar I had tons of trouble, and even more trouble getting rid of the darned thing.  That really could be the source of your problem.  I hope you can get it straightened out.    I'll run it by Mike tomorrow and see if he has any ideas.

LOL ~ Sorry I didn't tell you about our lunch ~ which turned out to be a dinner at the Bonefish.  On Tuesday and Thursday they have a Lobster special with lobster prepared different ways.

Now on Wednesday, it's "Bang Bang Shrimp Day".   Bang Bang Shrimp is a Thai dish that is one of their specialties.  Normally a huge pile of tiny shrimp lightly breaded and fried and served in a very hot but very delicious Thai sauce.  It's usually an appetizer in a huge bowl for sharing.  Even I think it's delicious, but I can't eat more than two because by the second one my whole mouth is on fire.  One of  the things they had for Wednesday night was a Kobe Beef Burger topped with Bang Bang Shrimp, and that's what Mike went in for.  He loves their Kobe Beef Burgers.  By the time we got settled though, he decided that might not be as good as it had originally sounded, so he had a filet topped with Bang Bang Shrimp instead, and he said it was delicious.

I had a fillet topped with Lobster Newberg and garlic mashed potatoes and took half home for Mike to have for lunch today.  It was delicious, too.    We shared Key Lime pie and coffee for dessert.

Thank you for the lovely Summer Tag!

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE
(Date Posted:06/13/2014 8:55 PM)

Another beautiful day in Wisconsin.  I could go on with this weather forever and ever and not get tired of it.  Throw some rain in once a week and maybe a week of snow and then back to this, lol.  The occasional wicked thunderstorm would be nice so that I can curl up with a good book, lol.  I should be the Weather Queen, lol.  We would never have droughts and just the right amount of rain.  No tornadoes, hurricanes, typhoons, etc.  No earthquakes or Tsunami's.  I would send frigid winds to preserve the ice bergs and the polar bears habitats.  I would counteract global warming.  Do I get the job??

Your food sounds heavenly.  I love the name Bang Bang but would not like the hot hot.  Can they make that one mild???  I am longing to go our to eat for Mexican and a Margarita.  I gotta find a way to make that happen. I want a chimichanga with guacamole, rice, been, chips and salsa with a regular Margarita.  Mmmm, mmmmm.

I got a letter from the state today telling me that I qualify for them to pay my medicare premium.  I did not get the denial first like they said I would.  No wonder the government in all screwed up. no one knows what they are doing.

I hope your haircut is just right and that your breakfast out was delish!  Do not over do it so that you are not so
exhausted when you are done.  Spend some time on the porch if it is not too hot with a lovely glass of lemonade and a good book.  Maybe some neighbors will stop to visit and catch up on things.

Bud, our landlord, was by tonight and dropped off about 75 movies that mom and Diane can used for prizes for ARC Bingo.  They are all VHS, but they usually go for them big time.  Many Disney movies which they love and then a lot of action adventure movies.  I did see Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal and those may not go.  We will check with Diane.  A few titles I did not recognize and we will check their ratings before taking them.  I do not think we will take anything that might have an R rating, if there are any.  Do not want to offend anyone.
Well, that's it for me.  No real plans for tomorrow.  I have been avoiding my room like the plague, but before you know it, it will be blistering hot.  So I really had better get going on it.
Hugs,

Happy Flag Day!   Ours is flying.

Looks like it may be a lovely day today,  only in the mid 70s with no wind and only a slight chance of rain.   I'll take it.    I was awake from 3:20 this morning, so it also looks like a day of snoozing from time to time.

Lou Ann, I asked Mike about your computer problem ~ I even copied what you said you had done and the error message and sent it to him in an email.   I'm sorry to have to tell you that he would have done the same things you did, and he doesn't have any other ideas for you.   I'm sure if he were playing with it hands on somehow or other he'd get it fixed, just cuz he always does, but he doesn't have any ideas to offer you.

On the happier side ~ another lovely day in 'Sconsin.  I absolutely would be willing to put you in charge of the weather, if I could.   Actually it sounds like 'Camelot', where "the rain may never fall till  after sunset" (though I'd like your version better with some conveniently timed rain or a thunderstorm.  No Snow in the summer though, thank you very much.

No, believe me one of the first things I asked "way back when" was could I get the Bang Bang Shrimp not hot.  Nope.   I eat one very small shrimp and it's really delicious.  Then I try another tiny one, and the volcano erupts.  Sigh.

We went to The Egg and I for breakfast.  Hadn't been there in ages and it was delish.  Mike had a Breakfast Burrito and I had the 'Sconsin Scramble, eggs with several different kinds of cheeses.  Lovely.  They served it with a choice of toast or English Muffin (I chose the muffin) and hash browns or grits (grits for me this time).   We used to go there all the time when we were doing low carb.  The "scrambles" are really good and practically no carb if you pass on the bread and potatoes.  They also have really good pancakes and French Toast and things like that or breakfast and all sorts of good things for lunch.  We really need to start going again.   We just don't go out for breakfast as much anymore for some reason.

Then when we got home and got everything unloaded, we did go out on the porch for a while.  It was too warm for Mike and just right for me so he went in and I stayed and read.   Lovely.  My hair is VERY short but I think I got a good shape.  It grows very fast, so short is ok.

Yup.  You'd better bite the bullet and get that AC in so you don't melt all summer!   Or you could come  here.   I always wear a sweatshirt all year around and lately I've been wearing a sweater over my sweatshirt part of the time.  When I bytch and complain, Mike turns the cold air off or the warm air up depending, and then he uses ice packs to keep from having a heat stroke or whatever.  Bottom line is he makes me feel guilty, so I'm wearing a Parka and fur lline boots in my own home.   (Well, almost ~ lol)

Later M'Love.

Happy Flag Day to you too!
We watched an old Lawrence Welk that was a
tribute to Flag Day.  It was in black and white
and it was awesome, lol.  I love that show.
Ooooh, the Egg and I.  Didn't you go there
with annnieM?  Or maybe they have one by them.
Omelettes are one of my favorite things.....
especially good ones!!  Our tastes seem to run alike.
Except when it comes to cauliflower, lol.
I have found 3 different email accounts for our
Mary Ann so I wrote all of them.  I also have an
address and am going to write it.  Hopefully we
can get some news.
Mike and I have to be related.  I sit with the fan
blowing on me and I have cooling gel pads that I
pop behind my back.  This recliner is leather and it
gets so hot.  When I get really hot I get all itchy
and start sweating and I cannot breath.  It is like
I am allergic to the heat.  I make my mom feel guilty
too.  But I have never used ice packs to cool down.
It just never occurred to me, lol.  My mom has not
gone the route of sweatshirts, but she will put a
sweater on and put a blanket on as the fan rebounds off the wall and heads right at her.  No way around
that.  She does not mind it so when it is really hot,
but I do it even when it is not so hot, but I am.  I
am thinking it might be time to get a different
recliner that is not leather....then it may not be so hot.
Glad to hear you got a good hair cut.
Well, I think I might try a few tutorials.  Love
learning something new.  Have a blessed Sunday.
Love,

annnieM

RE:WELCOME TO JUNE
(Date Posted:06/15/2014 9:24 AM)

Good Morning.

Flag Day yesterday and the flags were flying!  I love it.  When we first moved here we were often the only ones on  our street to fly a flag, and frequently one other couple joined us.  Now with some of the new neighbors in, there are five  of us flying our flags within sight from our house, and I know at least three or four do on the other two streets in the neighborhood.  Maybe more.

Looks to be another lovely day in the mid 70s with no rain or wind,   No big plans today but to go for a little drive and mail some letters.   We are having a big Primary Election and it's been really difficult to know how to vote.  I've researched the candidates the best I can, but it's hard to know for sure.  The last election a really bad group of people (to my way of thinking) took control of our State Senate and created some bad situations.  There have been several Recall elections and several of them are gone.  This election is an opportunity to revert the Colorado Senate to a more moderate course, or give the remaining folks what they will see as a mandate to continue their scorched earth policies.  All the Recalls did calm them down a bit, but I fear they will go nuts again if they retain control.

Both of the folks running for Senate in this Primary look good to me and I think we could be happy with either of them.  You just need to hopefully vote for the one who can win the General Election.  Then, the negative stuff started and the unrelenting phone calls.  I'm convinced that Robo-Calls are the invention of the Devil himself ~ and there is no way to stop them!  We've blocked the maximum number allowed, and still they come.  Aarrgghh.  Our mailbox overflows with campaign ads.

I'd be so excited to see the end of this Primary Season on the 26th, but I know that's when the crap for the General Election will start.  Help!!

Anyway, we voted yesterday and plan to mail our ballots in today.

I'm so glad you've found different chances to find out what has happened with our Mary Ann.  I hate being in the dark and I miss her.

I used to enjoy Laurence Welk too.  I love the patriotic music so that must have been really special.

No, I don't think we went to the Egg and I with annnieM.  Do you have one there?

Yes, I'd like to say that Mike is entirely "in the wrong" about the heat/cold situation, but about half the people would think our house is way too cold (one woman in the neighborhood won't come in anymore ~ lol) and the other half  would love it.  Ha.    I do remember when we were dating and Mike had a party at his house, you could actually see your breath.   One of the guys looked around and asked "Where do you hang the meat?"   LOL

Lisa had asthma and as you know actually died during an attack.  As cold as  our house is to me, she would have loved having it colder.  Before that I had never realized that breathing problems are effected by having a livable temperature (Tee Hee ~ surely you don't think I will JUST give MIKE a bad time.  LOL)

Have a Super Sunday!
