RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/27/2016 11:45 PM)

SORRY ABOUT BEING AWOL.  I MISTAKENLY TOOK 2 BENEDRYL AND THEN PRECEEDED TO LOSE MY MIND.  I COULD NOT THINK OR FUNCTION AND I KEPT FALLING ASLEEP.  WHY DID I TAKE 2!  I KNOW BETTER.  I WAS TRYING DESPERATELY TO FINISH 2 CHALLENGES AND HERE I WAS AT THE LAST MIN AND COULD NOT STAY AWAKE.  I DID MANAGE EARLIER TO DO A SIMPLE TUTORIAL, THANK GOD IT WAS AND OUT CHOICE CHALLEGE.   AND I WAS TRYING TO PUT THE NAMES ON THEM.  THEN THE 2ND CHALLENGE WAS A YOUR CHOICE CHALLENGE.  YOU JUST HAD TO USED ONE OF 3 LETTERS FOR YOUR FONT TO START WITH.  SO I USED THE TAG I MADE YOU BUT USED A DIFFERENT FONT "LOBSTER" AS ONE OF THE LETTERS WAS "L".  THEN I BET YOU THAT I SPENT 2 HOURS TRYING TO PUT A NAME ON 4 TAGS.  I COULD NOT THINK, I COULD NOT FIND THINGS I NEEDED.  I WAS USING A PLUGIN ON THE NAMES AND I WOULD GET SO FAR AND THEN COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHERE I WAS AND WHAT I WAS DOING IN THE PROCESS.  SO I WOULD START ALL OVER.  I DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I DID THAT....I JUST WANTED TO GO TO BED.  WELL, FINALLY SENT THEM OFF AND SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER.  I THEN WAS WORRIED ABOUT WHAT I ACTUALLY MAY HAVE WRITTEN AS I HAD BEEN MAKING SO MANY TYPO'S.  FIRST THING TODAY I HAD TO CHECK THE 'SENT' MAIL AND THANK GOD EVERYTHING WAS FINE.   THEN JUST A SHORT WHILE AGO I WONDERED IF I REMEMBRED TO CC ACTIVITIES SO THAT I GET CREDITED FOR THE CHALLENGES.  SO I WENT BACK AND LOOKED AGAIN.  THE FIRST WAS GOOD BUT I HAD NOT ON THE 2ND SO I SENT IT TO ACTIVITIES AND EXPLAINED MY ISSUES WITH THE BENDRYL BECAUSE MY ORIGINAL LETTER WAS DATES 2:01 SO I WAS ONE MINUTE LATE, LOL. AFTER ALL I WENT THROUGH THEY HAD BETTER ACCEPT IT.

YOU AND MIKE ARE JUST LIKE MY NEIGHBORS ACCROSS THE STREET DEB AND JAY.  HE IS SO HOT THAT HE PUTS THE AC ON REALLY LOW TEMP.  DEB ALWAYS SAYS SHE HAS TO COME OUTSIDE TO WARM UP.  I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH JAY.  I WENT OVER ONCE AND SHE WAS RIGHT, IT WAS FREEZING IN THERE.

THE ITEMS FOR MOMS PROGRAM I DREW ON POSTER BOARD.  THEY WERE ONE DEMENSIONAL  I LOVED HOW THE SHIPS WHEEL TURNED OUT.  THEY ALL TURNED OUT WELL, I JUST DID NOT LIKE THE WAY THE CRAYONS WENT ON THE PAPER.  THEY WERE VERY LIGHT AND I WANTED DEEP RICH COLOR.   WHO WANTS A PINK BOUY THAT SHOULD BE RED.  THE MORE I COLORED A SPOT THE MORE THE WAX BUILT UP AND THEN IT WOULD JUST PULL THE WAX AWAY AND THE AREA WOULD BE VERY PALE.  IT WAS A PAIN IN THE BUTT.

I AM WORKING ON THE WINDOWS 10 THING.  I AM DOING A  WHOLE NEW COMPUTER BACK UP SO THAT IF I HATE IT I CAN RESTORE BACK TO BEFORE I LOADED IT.  TOMORROW IT THE BIG DAY.  NOTHING LIKE WAITING TILL THE LAST MINUTE, HUH!  I HOPE IT GOES WELL.  I WILL HATE HAVING TO SIGN INTO MY EMAIL EVERY TIME, BUT INCREDIMAIL DOES NOT HAVE A SIGN IN PASSWORD.  I SUPPOSE IT WILL BE THE CHARTER  PASSWORD AND I WILL BE DARNED IF I KNOW WHAT IT IS, LOL.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING SENDING ME POLITICAL PROPAGANDA IN MY EMAIL??  LOL  AS FAR AS IT'S CONTENT, I PLEAD THE 5TH.  WE ALSO DID NOT GO TO THE DEM CONVENTION.  MOTHER WOULD NOT HAVE IT AND WE WERE FAR MORE ENTERTAINED BY AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, LITTLE PEOPLE, BIG WORLD AND WHATEVER THAT SHOW ABOUT TALL WOMEN IS CALLED.  LORD HELP ME.

OUR LUNCH WITH THE GIRLS WENT WELL.  WE CELEBRATED MOMS BIRTHDAY AS A SURPRISE.  BOTH SHE AND GLORIA HAVE BIRTHDAYS IN AUGUST AND WE CELEBRATE THEM TOGETHER.  SINCE MOM'S IS ONLY 1O DAYS AWAY, WE DECIDED TO CELEBRATE IT IN JULY AND THEY WOULD EACH GET THEIR OWN CELEBRATION.  I TOLD MOM IT WAS HER TURN TO PICK WHERE WE WOULD EAT AND SHE PICKED DQ.  THEY HAVE THAT 5 BUCK LUNCH.  IT IS SUCH A DEAL..... BACON CHEESEBURGER, FRIES, DRINK AND SUNDAE.  SO GLORIA PICKED UP THE CAKE, WHICH WAS A SMALL CAKE IN THE MIDDLE AND CUPCAKES ALL AROUND IT.  THAT WAS FUN.  MOM GOT A GIFT CARD FROM GLORIA AND CASH FROM CAROL.  SHE ALSO BOUGHT MOM AND I OUR LUNCH.  THAT SURPRISED ME AS CAROL IS A REAL PENNY PINCHER.  GLORIA HAD TO BE HOME AT 2:30 FOR HAY BALING.  CAROLE IS WORKING SECURITY AT ONE OF THE "POP UP"RESTAURANTS SET UP AT EAA'  SHE STANDS OUTSIDE THE RESTAURANT AREA TO REMING PEOPLE THAT THEY CANNOT TAKE THEIR ALCOHOL OUTSIDE THE RESTAURANTS AREA.  SHE SAID THEY WERE ALL VERY NICE ABOUT IT AND JOKED WITH HER AND WOULD GO BACK IN BOUNDS UNTILL THEY WERE DONE.  BUT SHE SAID IT IS SO HARD BECAUSE IT IS SO HOT.  SHE WORKS A SIX HOUR SHIFT.  BUT SHE LIKES THE EXTRA MONEY.  I DON'T BLAME HER.  AT LEAST IT IS ONLY 1 WEEK.

WELL THAT'S IT I GUESS.  TATA FOR NOW.

XOXOXO

(Date Posted:07/28/2016 8:28 AM)

Yes, another day in the 90s.  Yesterday it

 was 97!

The Party is officially over ~ well almost.

I still have my cards up on the mantle. I

finally threw out the roses because today

is Trash and Recycle day, but here they

are on Day Nine!  I think they are

actually drying, but they were still

sucking up the water.  Who knows how

much longer I could have kept them.  It

was hard to let them go.

Yesterday morning I went to Teresa for a

haircut.  She is the manager of the shop

where Sharyl had rented her booth, and

she cut my hair when I went for the

appointment with Sharyl where I learned

she was in the hospital.  I really liked

the way she cut my hair, so I went back

and was again happy with it and made

 another appointment.  Yesterday she was

talking about another customer and how

she only accepted her because a friend

recommended her, but she really didn't

 want anymore clients.  Well gosh,

Teresa, if you didn't want to take me, all

you had to do was tell me!   Maybe that

wasn't really directed toward me, but I

do think she wants only a few clients and

to manage the shop.  Anyway, she gave

me one of the worst haircuts I've ever

had.  Or maybe it isn't ~ the shape

seems ok, but it's so short it sticks up

and it will be a couple of weeks until it

 begins to look ok.  :-(

After that we went out to breakfast and

I worked on cards a bit and created some

duplicates of one I like with a yellow

rose.  All the effort went into the fronts

which turned out pretty good, I think.

Then I stamped a sentiment inside one

of them ~~ Crooked!  Aarrgghh.  It was

definitely time for me to stop, so I

managed to extract the fanciest elements

from the front of that card to save for

another time, and put the rest to bed

before I could do any more damage.

  Lesson?   Don't push when you're

 pooped.

This afternoon our neighbor Sue is coming

over for 'Show and Tell and Tea'.   She

is a "world class" crafter, the one who

held the Christmas in July Ornament

making party last year, and I can't wait

to see some of the cards she has made

and pick her brain.  I have a few cards

that I've made that I think I can show

 her without being too embarrassed.

We'll see if that holds when I see hers.

lol     My "Craft Room" is so scrunched

together that it's a problem having

everything I may need available.  I can

either run back to the library several

times to pick up what I need, or bringing

way too much stuff into the Morning

Room to be handy ~ and making the

crowding problem worse.   Sue was having

trouble knowing what she had too, so she

created a book where she stamped every

stamp she has and did something to

catalog the punches and dies and things

too.   I'm anxious to see it and see if I

can do the same, so that when I start a

project, I can just browse the book

rather than take out all the boxes with

various stamps and stuff to see what I

can use for it.   Ut-oh.  That sounds like

 ANOTHER project!  LOL

Shauna comes tomorrow morning, so I

may, or may not, be late.

Rut-ro.  It sounds like I sent you an email

I may not have meant to.  I hope it

wasn't too offensive.   I frequently share

things sent to me by like-minded friends

to other like-minded friends, but I really

try not to share them with my Liberal

friends and family ~~ even though they

are the ones who really NEED to see

them.  (LOL!)  Seriously, I think I may

have just Fat Fingered the Forward, cuz

I don't want to offend you.  Well, not

too much, anyway.  ;-)

I'm glad you had a nice party with the

girls.

Oooh, I know whatcha mean about taking

two Benedryl!   I haven't done that for

ages, but I do know it darn near put me

in a coma way back when I did it.  I

think it's remarkable that you could still

do two challenges in that state!

I love my new tag.  Thank you!!

It's crunch time for Windows 10, and I

resent the heck out of it.  The only

saving grace is that if I hate it I can

(supposedly) go back to Win 7, but it's

gonna be a lot of work for what I

suspect will be little or no benefit either

 way.  Grrrr.

If I could still be on XP, I would be!   My

issue is that two financial sites I need to

visit are now saying I have to update to a

newer version, so if I have to "move up"

to Win 8 or Win 9, I might as well go all

the way to Win 10.  If that weren't the

 case, I don't think I'd consider it.

Our laundry is all done, and the trash and

recycles are at the curb and house is in

pretty good shape for Shauna's visit

tomorrow.  All that remains is to

dismantle my portable craft room after

Sue leaves ~ ("All", she says?   Ha!)

Stay cool, and have a happy day!

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/29/2016 12:44 AM)

Hello my lovely. I have been drastically trying to open space on the computer. I have no idea how much space Win 10 needs. What will it do with my Win 7. I cannot get a back up of my computer to run.  It stops at the same place and quits. I will try it one more time tomorrow before I let Win 10 install. Then I will just take it from there. I have also been trying to clean up my incredimail which is why it crashes all the time.  I should have been taking care of  that a long time ago. Nothing like procrastination. I am the Queen of Procrastination!

Next time you screw up the inside of a card. Just cut out an inset or a shape that fits the card in colors matching the card or white and paste it over your crooked stamp and stamp again. Or stamp the paper before you tape or glue it in. Then you are not wasting your lovely front. I hope you had a good time and you will have to tell me all about it.

You just sent me the email of all the lousy things we Dem. have done to the country. I did take the time to read it. And it is a shame, but could probably come up with bad things that the Rep.did too. No party is perfect. I actually laughed when I saw it. We managed to get by our get together on Tues and did not bring up politics or religion. Actually Carole did bring it up once, but only in reference to my nephew and no guidance. I wanted to ask her if she would have listened to anyone at that age?  She was as wild as they come and had a baby at age 13 that she gave up. But that would have been nasty. I really cannot stand most born again Christians attitudes. She is so by the bible religious. So very narrow minded. She is a good woman at heart, if only she would listen to it more.

Your roses really did not look too bad yet.  I wpuld have kept them, lol.  I do not get roses often enough to toss them away until the are truly dead, lol.

Went for my INR today and it was 2.9. On the same dose it had been 2.9 then 2.3 and then 2.9 again. So am staying on the same dose and going back in 3 weeks.  Yep, I get to wait 3 weeks this time. WooHoo.

Well, that's t for me tonight. Tata for now.         XOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/29/2016 7:40 AM)

Good Morning.  TGIF!

We woke up waaay too early again, so I'm going to get a

quick post in before I get dressed and ready for

 Shauna's visit.

I had a wonderful time with Sue.  She is such a lovely

lady and she brought a stack of cards she has made to

show me, along with a very large notebook where she

stores images of what her various stamps, punches, die

cuts, and embossing folders create.  With it, she can just

thumb through her book and select something to use for

her next project.  I am definitely going to do that,

though I can see it will take me a week longer than

forever to get it done ~~ and I only have a fraction of as

may things as she has.   She also has her dies stored in a

very clever way, but I don't have enough to change from

the way I am storing them ~ yet.

Of course I showed her all of my goodies too, and we

offered anything we have to each other to use.

She left all of her goodies with me, and I plan to take

pictures of her cards to "borrow" ideas from as well as

to actually borrow and use a few of her dies that I don't

have to cut things out before I return it all to her in a

day or so.  Very generous of her to let me steal her

ideas.   She just has so many good ideas on so many

 things.

I only had a few cards to show her, but she really liked

them, and I could tell she wasn't just being polite.  Made

 me feel good.

I make 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 size cards from standard card

stock, and she actually buys larger blank white cards

and envelopes already made.  The larger cards really are

more professional (if that's the right word) looking.

More dramatic.  I will probably stay with my smaller

cards because I have a fair amount of card stock that I

can use to make them, at least for now.    I wish I could

show you hers.   Maybe I will post some pics of hers

 when I take them.

We visited largely about cards, but also about so many

more things and I really enjoyed it.  I hope she did, too.

  She stayed for four hours.

After she left, we ordered pizza, which we will have

tonight too, after Shauna leaves us completely

 exhausted.  lol

I had actually tried overlaying my crooked stamp

with white card stock for a do-over, but the bad

stamping showed through, not a lot, but enough.  Sue

also suggested putting colored card stock down first and

then white, which hadn't occurred to me.     She does

a lot of putting a colored card stock square topped with

a white card stock square onto which she has

stamped something on the inside, not just the outside

and it looks great.  I just stamp

directly onto the inside card stock and then try to

add a flower or a flourish or something.  Her way

is easier and looks great.  I will have to see how

that works with my smaller cards.

We didn't talk politics either.  My whole neighborhood

(well almost) is Socialist.  I know when I'm

outnumbered.  Ha!  So many of them come from a

school background, teachers or administrators,  and I

fear the whole school system is as Nikita Kruschev told

me it would be when he pounded the table with his shoe

at the UN so many years ago.   I didn't

believe him.  Shows how much I knew!   You guys are

winning and my country is being "fundamentally

changed", and it breaks my heart.   At least I can still

talk to Barbara and a few others here in the

 neighborhood.   I really don't know

how Sue feels about politics.  I know she is a

committed Christian and lives her faith. Anyway, we

didn't go there, and I'm glad Carol didn't take

you there either.  ;-)  Life's too short.   Wow ~ a baby

at 13!  That's actually shocking to me.  ;-)

I was supposed to do my INR yesterday and I forgot,

so that had better be the first thing on my agenda

today ~ well, after I get posted and dressed.

Later, My Lovely

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/29/2016 11:47 PM)

Hello, this is me coming to you from Windows 10. I was here a while ago and was writing that I was making it quick because my computer was on the countdown to switchover but it caught me in the middle of writing. But that is ok as now I do not have to hurry. So far so good. Incredimail came up fine, but I have not read any of it yet. Just let the mail download into it.

I am so glad you had such a wonderful time with your neighbor Sue. It is great to get inspiration from other creators. I do that with making tags. I see something I like but have a different idea how I want to use it. We all learn from each other which is fabulous.  I would love to see the photos you take of her cards. I used to make both the big and small cards. Depending on what I wanted to do on the card. They were just starting all the paper cutouts when I had to quit work so had no money to continue with the party/classes or ordering directly. I even still have some of the company catalogues, the big ones with all their products. When a new one came out they would sell the old ones and they were full of great ideas. Also glad that you finally feel that you do well and that your cards are as good as the long time stampers. You have good taste and you know what you like so you are able to express it in your card making. You rock.

Chris had one of her episodes 2 nights ago. Early in the evening. She was screaming and shouting out on the front porch so mom went out to see what was wrong. She was screaming at Scott because she wanted to go see her son and Scott no longer had his dads vehicle. She was screaming at him that they had no money because the police had to bring him home drunk one night. The thing is, he would have been walking home and if they gave him a lift home, it would not involve any money. She is the one who has two police fines they are paying off and mom reminded her that Scott is the only one working. So she should not be yelling at him. She also told her if she did not calm down, one of the neighbors would call the police and she would end up in jail again. She was still screaming so mom told her I did not come out here to listen to you scream and came back in the house and we shut our door. She did go back inside and Scott went for a walk. We did not see Chris for 2 days. She always hides out when she has acted like an ass in front of us. We finally saw her today. She needs to get a job.

I was so shocked when Carole said that to me. She thought I knew. I knew she was a wild one, but I assumed it was all in her more young adult years. Pregnant at 12 and baby at 13 shocked me. But now she is born again and all is forgiven. I asked her if she ever thought about finding her son and she said she did not think there was a way and I told her not so, there are all kinds of sites out there that help you. Then she said she did not know how John would feel about it. He knows, but it is not his son. I really felt she was making excuses and that she did not want to see him. Probably afraid to hear if he had a bad life or if he hated her or if she really wanted to bother.  I would think that because she had lost one of her daughters,...she was an alcoholic and she killed herself....that she might want to find the son. I would if it was me. What could she do? She really was just a child and her parents would have nothing to do with it. She was sent to a place for unwed mothers and they took the baby right away and she never even saw it. At home all were told she went to visit and stay with a Great Aunt who had surgery and needed help. Everything was white-washed. As things were in that day.

Well, time to say tata for now.

XOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/30/2016 9:54 AM)

Hello

Shauna came early yesterday morning and almost

caught us not ready. Mike was a bit under the

weather and I stayed in bed to post and just pharted

around much later than I usually do, so where we

usually would be all ready and having our morning

coffee before she arrived, we weren't.  I still didn't

have the bed made!   She had taken her daughter to

work and was rather sick herself, but wanted to stay

and finish so she did.  She was done in less than

three hours, but I think she still did a good job.

So last night we went to bed-room and watched TV

for a while but when we turned the lights off, I

started to have a coughing attack and felt that

unnatural coldness that I had the other night when I

kept Mike up.  I slipped out of bed and using my

iPhone flashlight made my way to the Morning

Room, plugged in my electric Lap Robe and thought

if  I coughed at least I wouldn't keep Mike up, and

hopefully I could go to sleep in the recliner.  I

certainly can when I'm watching TV and don't want

to!  Nope.  I was there from 2:15 until 4 but since

the coughing had subsided I went back to bed and

did sleep for maybe an hour and a half.  I'm not

going to be fun to be around today!   Heading back

for the 90s today.  A Do-Nothing Day sounds nice.

I think I'll have one  of those today!

You know how sometimes you think you got a bad

haircut, but when you brush it out you realize you

haven't?   This isn't one of those times.  I may have

to wear a hat for a couple of weeks!

I did take some pictures of Sue's books of dies and

printed out stamps and cut outs yesterday, and

actually punched out something from each of my

dozen punches and attached them to a piece of

paper to start my own book.  I plan to borrow her

dies of little birds and some candles and save

several of them in different colors just to have on

hand.  I got some new embossing folders in the mail

that I think she might like to borrow, too.     I'll try

to do a bit more with her things today so I can get

 them back to her.

I'm so glad Win 10 is looking good for you so far!

I decided to go ahead and go to Windows 10, much

as I didn't want to, but I waited until late yesterday

evening and when I got halfway through they

encountered a problem and I had to start over.

Then there was another problem and I didn't want

to stay up for a couple more hours to do it ~~ little

did I know that I easily could have!   Anyway, I

didn't get 'er done, and now the offer of a free

update is gone.    Mike thinks I may still be ok,

because he was remembering that when I got my

new ThinkPad, it came with Win 10 and a free

downgrade to Win7.  Sooo, I may still be able to

go to Win 10, if I must, with out charge.  We'll see.

My card making confidence is shakey at best, so it's

good to know someone else would like one of my

little cards.  The big ones are more impressive, but

there's something kind of charming about the little

ones, too, I think.   No, I'll never be as good as Sue

or others, but if I'm good enough that my friends or

family enjoy getting a card from me from time to

 time, I'll be happy.

I hated to throw out those roses, and I sure wouldn't

have if it hadn't been garbage day, and I didn't

know that they were existing on borrowed time.

I'm  glad I have the pictures.

Catherine's birthday was  on the 28th and I made a

card for her!   I haven't  heard if she liked it,

and I'm sure I won't.  lol  Hey,

everybody is different.  It's ok.  I just kinda hope

she did think it was special instead of cheap or

something.  (If she only knew!  Ha!)

Ok, I will share pictures of Sue's things when I get

them taken.  I know I've picked up some ideas from

her already!    I know I would from you, too, even

though you haven't made any in a while.   I told you

that I subscribe to Paper Pumpkin, which is sort of

a surprise kit you get once a month with everything

you need to make a project ~~ sometimes cards,

which I like, sometimes cutsy projects, which I

don't so much.   Sue doesn't subscribe, so I gave

her two kits I knew I would never make for her

to use to make other things.  On the Facebook

Stampin Up groups, a lot of folks make PP

Alternatives and share the how-tos, and there

really are a lot of cute things you can do with them.

I know you still have some products ~~ inks?  Glue??

Oh, boy, Chris.  If she doesn't get on top of her

drinking problem (and drug issues?), she is going

to be in serous trouble one day, and I HOPE it's

only with the law!   How sad.

Soooo, are we coming to the place where I don't

need to keep double spacing my text?   Let me

know when we are, cuz you are certainly worth

the trouble, but it is a bit of a pain in the tush.  lol

Have a great day!

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/31/2016 10:32 AM)

Hello

Surprisingly, I didn't feel too bad

yesterday, and I got a lot done with

the things Sue left for me to play

with.   I took pictures, which I still

have to resize and combine and

borrowed some of her dies that  don't

have to make flocks of teeny-tiny

birds in blue, yellow and red to sit in

trees.  ;-)   I also borrowed some cute

candles, but I only made them in red

paper for Christmas, and I would

have been smarter to make them in

other colors to use for birthdays.

I also got pictures taken of my own

dies and embossing folders and made

 examples with my punches.  Still

have the stamps left to do, and then

to put them all into a notebook, but I

think this is going to work so well ~ if

 I keep it up!

I'm so sorry you have somehow lost

 your connection!   Do you think

 Windows 10 caused that?   Mike

hasn't had any trouble, and as you

 know, I didn't switch, so I can't offer

any help.  What a serious pain in the

 tush!
