RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/19/2016 11:48 PM)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN DOROTHY

I HOPE YOU HAD AN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL DAY AND THAT YOUR MEAL AT THE HIDEAWAY WAS FABULOUS.  I LOVE THE NAME OF THIS RESTAURANT.  IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMEWHERE YOU WOULD GO TO HAVE A CLANDESTINE MEETING WITH A LOVER.  OH, SO YOU ARE, LOL.

YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT TRUMP.  AND EVEN THOUGH I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM MADE A FOOL OF, THAT DOES NOT GO FOR HIS WIFE, WHO I DO NOT THINK REALLY WANTS TO BE THE FIRST LADY.  BUT SOMEONE HAD BETTER FIRE THE SPEECH WRITER.  WHAT HAPPENED TO HER COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO ANY OF US.  WE WOULD NOT KNOW THE SPEECH WE WERE GIVING WAS PLAGIARIZED.  IF I WERE HER, I WOULD BE SO ANGRY.  DO YOU THINK SOMEONE IN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY WAS SETTING THEM UP FOR A FALL?  REALLY A SHAME.  IN THE TIME WE ARE LIVING IN, WE NEED TO STOP FIGHTING OURSELVES AND START PRESENTING OURSELVES AS A UNITED FRONT.  NOT ONLY ARE WE BEING ATTACKED BY HOMEGROWN TERRORISTS.  THESE IDIOTS THAT KILL POLICE OFFICERS.  WHO DO THEY THINK HELPS THEM IN TIMES OF TROUBLE AND UNREST.  I WANT ISIS PUT DOWN.  ONCE AND FOR ALL.  I WANT TO SEE INCREASED ACTIONS AGAINST COP KILLERS.  IF YOU KILL A POLICEMAN YOU SHOULD GET LIFE.  I AM SO SICK OF IT ALL.  AND WE HAVE CHILDREN BEING BROUGHT UP IN THIS WORLD.  WHEN WILL COME THE DAY WHEN ALL PEOPLE WORK AS ONE, THROUGHOUT THE WORLD AND FIND THE ANSWERS TO OUR WORLD PROBLEMS;  STOP WORRYING ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY BUCK AND START WORRYING ABOUT THE WORLDS CHILDREN.  I REALLY WONDER IF WE ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO REPELL AN INVASION.  ESPECIALLY ONE FROM WITHIN.  I DO NOT THINK SO.  WE HAVE ALL BECOME SO MISTRUSTFUL OF MUSLIMS.  WE KNOW NOT EVERY MUSLIM IS A TERRORIST OR OF ISIS, BUT WE ARE SO FEARFUL THAT IT IS ALL WE CAN SEE.  STOP THE WORLD, I WANT TO GET OFF.

I SHOULD NOT HAVE STARTED A RANT ON YOUR BIRTHDAY.  I AM SORRY.  IT SHOULD BE ONLY HAPPY THOUGHTS.  THOUGH I DO NOT KNOW HOW I CAN COME UP WITH THEM KNOWING IT IS GOING TO BE IN THE 90'S TOMORROW.  I AM NOT GOING OUT FOR ANYTHING!!!!!!

LET'S THINK COOL CALMING THOUGHTS.  WE ARE LAYING IN THE SHADE ON A BEACH IN HAWAII AND THEY KEEP BRINGING US MAI TAI'S AND MACADEMIA NUTS!  LOL.  LOVELY SURFER BOYS WAIT ON US HAND AND FOOT.  WAVING LARGE PALM BRANCHES TO GIVE US A BREEZE.  ARE YOU WITH ME?

CHAT WITH YOU TOMORROW.

X0X0X0, LOU ANN

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/20/2016 12:56 PM)

Happy Hump Day!

Another day in the low 90s here.  We have no

plans, so I may not stick my nose out of the

door other than to get the mail and maybe

take the trash can to the curb for tomorrow's

 pick up.

Yesterday was lovely.  I spent too much time

on the phone so I got behind on things that I

had thought I wanted to do, but it was lovely

to receive the calls, so I'm not complaining.

After I spoke to my friend Faye for about an

hour, I hustled to get ready to go to The

Hideaway for lunch, and when I came out,

there was a gorgeous bouquet of yellow roses

waiting for me.  "From you?" I asked Mike.

"No, not from me".   Hmmm.  Turns out it was

from my family ~ My nieces and their kids and

their kids' kids.  What a wonderful surprise.

Of course I knew it was really from Mary Ann

but I loved it.   Then during the day I got texts

from Catherine, Katie, Aaron and Robert ~~~

gosh, I guess it really was from everyone!

  (Huge smile)

While I was talking to Faye, I got another

delivery, a gift from another friend ~ a lovely

little box of Petits fours.  We had some of them

in lieu of dinner, and they were as

delicious as they were pretty.

Then I got a text from Laine saying my card

would be late, and an email from her mom,

Carolyn and some emails, e-cards and

Facebook Greetings from other friends in

addition to cards.  I could't possibly ask for

more.  I didn't expect a fraction of that much

attention.  I told Mike "This isn't a special

birthday for me.  Do they know something I

don't?   Is it my last birthday?"   LOL  He gave

me "The Look", so you don't have to.  LOL

Lunch was lovely and we had another good

waiter, which really makes a difference.   Mike

had a cup of their delicious French onion

soup and an  Angus prime rib French dip

sandwich, and I had an open

  face tenderloin steak sandwich

with caramelized onions and Swiss cheese

and the most delicious sweet potato fries I've

ever had.  Neither of us could finish, so we

 brought half of it home.

Then for dessert The Hideaway gave me a

Peaches and Cream Napoleon, which we

shared with a cup of coffee.  Heavenly!

The Hideaway has a feeling much like you

envisioned ~ very private and quiet and gives

me the image of a place where people might

meet clandestinely.  ;-)

We did watch part of the Convention ~ some

great speeches before calling it a night.

Now, I will join you on that quiet beach....

Thanks so much for my beautiful tag!  I love

it!

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/20/2016 10:16 PM)

I am ecstatic that you had a wonderful birthday.  It certainly sounds like it was fantastic.  Beautiful roses and I was so sure they would be from Mike.  Your family knows you well.  Did you get your porcelain rose?  Or is that for yours anniversary?  I bet it is.  The food sounds wonderful...heavenly.  I want it all.  What exactly is a Napoleon?  Looked a bit like a castle in the first pic, but of course I cannot see very well, lol.  Still, it looks really good.  I need to get back on track.  Because I ate so yummy, oops, I mean bad last week, it makes me want the food all the more.  When I first joined TOPS, many moons ago, I would be good all week and then on Monday, after the meeting, a bunch of us would go to this bakery/restaurant for supper.  I would  eat anything I wanted.  The food was so good.  Wonderful huges cheeseburgers, criss cut fries, shakes that you got in the shakers and then dessert.  It was, as I said a bakery.  I usually alternated between carrot cake, banana cream pie and coconut cream pie.  They were all so good.  I do not think I have had a cream pie since they closed.  I broke my heart.  Eating like that worked very well for me and I stayed under 1200 cal every day except Mon. But I cannot eat like I did then.  I then ate 1/2 pink graperfruit for breakfast and the other half for AM snack.  A salad for lunch and decent low cal meal for supper and usually air popped corn for evening snack.  I did great. But I cannot eat like that anymore.  Not allowed to have grapefruit and cannot eat all the lovely green vegetables that made up a good amount of my supper.  Oh well. I can find another way, right!!
Tomorrow is supposed to be 92 and humid. It is not going below 82 for the next week.  I hate summer.  In my world it would be 70degrees all year round.  We would have winter for 2 weeks to enjoy the snow and summer for 2 weeks for those who enjoy the heat.  Hmmm, I would alow 3 month each to Spring and Fall and all the rest would be a lovely 70.
Well, I have been getting more sleep.  Going to bed earlier and still not getting up till around 9.  And still dozing off all the time.  Oh well.
XOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/21/2016 11:12 AM)

Good Morning.

Ok, I guess the party is over.  I had a lovely time.  ;-)

I didn't get a porcelain rose for my birthday,

but I did get one for our 35th anniversary!

Shogun is turning into a real love-bug ~ and

I love it!   He was the most stand-offish cat

we've ever had, loving from time to time

when he was in the mood, but nothing you

could count on.   Our other Abys have all

changed when they were about 6 years old.

They were all outgoing and friendly to

everyone including us, but they didn't really

love US until they were around 6.  A strange

but rather consistent Aby phenomenon, not

something we experienced with any of our

other cats.

Shogun was mildly cordial to visitors but

never all that outgoing to us or to company,

so I really didn't expect the 6 year change,

but it has happened.

I put my roses in the Morning room.   He

hasn't bothered them at all, but I close the

door at night just to be sure we aren't

awakened with a bang.   Shogun usually

sleeps on his blanket on the couch in there

until the middle of the night, when he

comes in and crawls under the covers next

to me.    Since the door has been closed at

night, he's been hopping into bed before we

 turns the lights off.

I have to admit, I was shocked when I got

the roses from my family!   They did that

with a huge bouquet and tons of cards when

I had my 75th birthday, but this was just a

plain old birthday.  I usually expect a card

from Mary Ann, and from Laine, but I don't

really expect anything from anyone else,

except maybe a text or email.   I think with

all that had been going on, Mary Ann may

 have forgotten (more than

 understandable), and when she realized

she asked everyone else if they had

forgotten, too.  LOL   Whatever the reason,

I loved it!     I know they love me, but they

are young and have busy lives and

remembering an old great aunt is not the

top of the priority list.  Ha!

A Napoleon is super light, flaky pastry

filled with whipped cream and often fruit.

Piece of heaven!

Oh, I so agree ~ the 70s are the perfect

temperature, though I do love the change

of Seasons.   I like Winter so much more

now that I don't have to drive to work or

worry about getting the walks and driveway

shoveled.

I think it is great that you have been getting

more sleep ~ and not so great that your

eye still hasn't begun to heal.     I don't

get a lot of sleep but it's enough that I

feel fine in the morning, but by evening

when I want to watch TV, I find that I

sleep through half of what I wanted to see!

Makes me so mad!   Then in the wee hours

of the morning ~ wide awake. Bring back

my TV shows then!  Ha.

Someone in the other group was telling

about some comedian I don't know saying

that "No one should have to choose between

Trump and Clinton, unless it's for a

 Halloween Costume!"   Too funny!

Ah, well.  :-)

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/21/2016 9:47 PM)

HERE I AM AGAIN.  I FIND THE

THE AC AND THE FANS RUNNING

ARE REALLY BOTHERING MY EYE.

WHEN I PUT OINTMENT IN MY

EYE AT NIGHT THEN IT IS FINE

IN THE MORNING.  BUT AS THE

DAY GOES BY AND THE DRY AIRE

AND FAN HITTING MY FACE

MAKESTHE EYE WORSE.  GOING

TO SEE IF EYE DROPS WILL

MAKEIT BETTER.  OMG, JUST DID

IT AND WHAT A DIFFERENCE.

THEN THE FAN HITS MY FACE

AND IT HURTS MY EYE.  MY EYE

IS MOSTLY HEALED.  YESTERDAY

WAS SEEING REALLY WELL

UNTIL I SPENT 3 HOURS TRYING

TO STRAIGHTEN OUT MOMS

CHECKBOOK.  I SO WISH SHE

WOULD GIVE IT UP AND LET ME

WRITE HER CHECKS FOR HER.

BUT WE BOTH KNOW THAT'S

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN., SHE IS

GOING TO STOP DOING THE

ADDING AND SUBTRACTING, BUT

THAT IS NOT REALLY THE ISSUE.

THE PROBLEM IS HOW SHE

WRITES THEM, ANDTHAT SHE

DOES NOT DATE THEM.

THE LANDLORD NEVER GOT THE

MAY RENT CHECK.  SO MOM HAD

TO PUT A STOP ON IT AND

REWRITE IT.  I TOLD HER RE-

PEATEDLY THAT SHE JUST

NEEDED CANCEL THE ONE SHE

WROTE (void) AND WRITE THE

NEW CHECK IN, BUT NOT TO

CHANGE THE TOTAL TO JUST

RECORDTHE CHECK BUT NO

OTHER CHANGES.  SHE SUB-

TRACTED THE CHECK AGAIN

WITH OUT ADDING IT BACK

IN.  THAT WAS THE FIRST

ISSUE. THE 2ND WAS SOME-

THING TO DO WITH NOT

SUBTRACTING A MONTHLY

 BILL.  WHEN SHE STARTS A

NEW REGISTER SHE LIKES TO

JUST WRITE IN THE

OUTSTANDING CHECKS AND  A

STARTING TOTAL BELOW THEM.

BUT I DO NOT KNOW WHERE

THAT STARTING TOTAL CAME

FROM, I COULD NOT ACCOUNT

FOR IT.  SHE SAID SHE WROTE

WHAT I TOLD HER TO AND YET

SHE DID NOT HAVE MY PAPER

WORK.  EVERY MONTH I END UP

REWRITING HER ENTILE MONTH

OF CHECKS AND TOLD HER WE

NEED TO KEEP THEM.  I ALWAYS

FOLD MY CALCULATIONS WITH

THE STATEMENT.  SHE HAD TO

HAVE TOSSED IT.  I TOLD HER

AGAIN HOW MUCH WE NEED

MY NOTED WHEN WE HAVE TO

GO BACK.  WE NEVER DID FIGURE

OUT WHAT SHE DID.  WE

FINALLY CHECKED AGAINST

HER ACCOUNT ON LINE.  THERE

WERE ONLY 2 CHECKS NOT BACK

ON LINE, SO WE SUBTRACTED

THEM FROM THE ONLINE TOTAL

AND WE ARE GOING FROM

THERE. THAT REALLY MESSED

UP MY EYE.  I WILL BE SO HAPPY

WHEN I HAVE GLASSES AND

WILL BE ABLE TO SEE. IT HAS

BEEN SO LONG.

OH I JUST KNEW THAT SHOGUN

COULD BE A LOVER BOY!!  YOU

CAN SEE IT IN HIM. I BET I

COULD GET HIM PURRING, LOL.

MY MOM WAS GOING TO AGREE

TO LET ME HAVE A RAT FOR A

PET.  I SAID I DO NOT WANT

ONE.  HOW CAN A RAT SHOW\

YOU AFFECTION?  I HAVE HAD

GERBILS WHEN I WAS YOUNG

AND HAMSTERS TWICE AS AN

ADULT.  THE 2ND ONES WERE

FUN BECAUSE JOSH AND JASON

WERE LITTLE AND THEY REALLY

ENJOYED THEM.  WE HAD 3 AND

WE WOULD PUT THEM IN BALLS

AND LET THEM RUN ALL OVER

THE HOUSE.  THEY WERE KEPT

AT MOMS, BUT I WAS THE

OFFICIAL CLEANER AND FEEDER.

BUT THEY REALLY WERE NOT

FRIENDLY AND WOULD NIP YOU

IF YOU WERE NOT CAREFUL.

MY MOM WOULD AGREE TO A

BIRD, OR HAMSTERS  , OR ANY

THING IN A CAGE.  MAYBE I

WOULD CONSIDER A BIRD

AGAIN. I REALLY DID ENJOY

MY COCKATIELS.  I GAVE THEM

UP BECAUSE I WAS WORKING

AND THEY WERE DRIVING MOM

CRAZY.  THEY COULD GET VERY

NOISY.  THEY WERE LOVING IN

A WAY.  THEY LOVED TO BE ON

ME, BUDDY LIKED TO BE PETTED

BUT LADY DID NOT.  SHE LIKED

TO BE ON ME BUT NOT FOR ME

TO RUFFLE HER FEATHERS.  BUT

THEY WOULD ALSO RUIN ANY

JEWELRY I WOULD WEAR.  BUT I

DO NOT WEAR ANY NOW.  I

HAVE TO THINK ON THIS.  I DO

NOT KNOW IF I WANT THIS OR

NOT.  WHEN I THINK OF THE

BIRDS I HAD, I DO. BUT A NEW

BIRD MAY NOT BE FRIENDLY AT

ALL.  HMMM

ANYWAY, GOTTA GO READ MY

EMAIL.  TATA FOR NOW.

XOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/22/2016 10:35 AM)

It's Friday!  We made it through another week!

Are you ready for the weekend?    We have

another H-O-T one today and no real plans

except a little laundry and maybe playing with

some cards, so I plan to be inside today.

We did 'go to the Convention' this week.  Some

really good speeches, and a pretty good show.

The Trump kids are impressive.   I hated the

Ted Cruz thing, of course.  He was my guy.

I enjoy some of certain 'Talking Heads' when they

don't go on too long, but being reminded of

C-Span is great.  When they talk over speakers

I want to hear or when there is a commercial

instead of something I want to hear ~ it is going

to "make my viewing great again!"   ;-)

After the Convention, I switched from my

combination of Fox and CSPAN to the Liberal

Networks and was surprised to see that the Big

Three didn't even have it on.  They apparently

had it scheduled for the 8-9 hour, and even

though the speech went beyond that, they

switched to regular programming.   It will be

interesting to see if they do the same for the

Democrat Convention next week.   Then I found

CNN and MSNBC, and as usual I wondered if

they had watched the same thing that I did ~

  LOL    Not surprising, of course.

This morning I watched NBC's recounting of the

events and Fox's.   Right now Obama is

speaking and I can not believe the things

he is saying!  The fibs are flying ~ lol.  I

think I'll have to turn him off.

Shogun is still not a lap cat, but maybe that's just

as well because I almost always have my laptop

in my lap.  Ha.   More and more he is beginning

to curl up next to me, and I love that, and of

course under the covers at night.  He's really

becoming a joy ~ after all this time.  ;-)

One more reason to wish we could get together

~~ sharing stamping stuff and ideas, good

food, AND The Shogun!

I am so glad your eye really is getting better!

I have always had sinus problems, and I

can't be in the room with the ceiling fan going

for very long without the headache starting,

so I can really understand why it bothers

your eye.  The AC doesn't seem to dry my eyes

out, but then we have Central Air and not a

room AC.  Probably makes a difference, too.

I can understand why spending all that time in

checkbook bothers your poor eye, too.  I'm

having more and more trouble seeing close up~

due to the cataracts ~ and I'm having more

and more trouble doing our budget book.  I

make way too many mistakes and have way

too many do-overs.  I really hate

it ~ I've lived with a budget book since I was

in my teens.  Ah, well.  a small problem in

the scheme of things.

Have a Happy Day!

H

WE ARE IN FOR A SCORCHER OF A

WEEKEND.  WE WILL BE GOING NO

WHERE.  I JUST REALIZED THAT IT

IS ALMOST THE END OF JULY AND

I HAVE NOT HAD A BRAT FROM A

WEEKEND BRAT FRY.  PRACTICALLY

EVERY GROCERY STORE OR BIG

STORE HAS A CHARITY BRAT FRY

ON THE WEEKEND.  MOM WOULD

ALWAYS SUPPORT THEM AND

BRING ME HOME 1 OR 2.  I LOVE A

BRAT THAT GOT A LITTLE TOO

CLOSE TO THE FIRE AND IS A BIT

CRISPY, LOL.  OH HOW I WANT ONE

RIGHT NOW. I NEED TO HIT UP MY

SISTERS AS I AM SURE THEY WILL

BE OUT AND ABOUT THIS WEEKEND

AND HAVE THEM GET ME ONE.

WILL BE SPENDING THE WEEKEND

MAKING MOM SOME PROPS FPR HER

INSTALLATION OF OFFICERSS

MONDAY NIGHT AT TOPS.  MOM

VOLUNTEERED TO DO IT.  9IT HADS

A NAUTICAL THEME SO FOR PROPS

I NEED TO MAKE A SHIP STEERING

WHEEL, AN ANCHOR, A BUOY AND

I CANNOT RECALL THE 4TH ITEM.

ALSO NEED TO TYPE UP HER

PROGRAM IN A LARGER PRINT ON

THE COMPUTER IN THE BACK AND

THEN PRINT IT FOR HER SO THAT

IT IS EASIER FOR HER TO READ.

THAT ALL WILL REALLY PUT MY EYE

TO THE TEST.  ESPECIALLY THE OLD

MONSTER COMPUTER IN THE BACK

ROOM. WHICH ONLY GETS USED

WHEN WE WANT TO PRINT SOME

THING.  SINCE I GOT A LAPTOP I

STOPPED USING THAT ONE.  THE

SYSTEM IT IS RUNNING ON IS

NO LONGER IN USE AND GETS NO

UPDATES.  IF THIS COMPUTER WAS

HOOKED UP TO A PRINTER I WOULD

PROBABLY NEVER USE IT.  THOUGH

I DO HAVE A LOT OF HAVE A LOT

OF TOPS FORMS AND GAMES ON

IT THAT I STILL ACCESS FOR MOM

AND THERE ARE PROBABLY A LOT

OF ARTWORKS I COULD ACCESS.  I

KNOW WHEN I GOT MY FIRST LAP

TOP I SENT A LOT OF ART WORK

TO IT.  BUT LOST IT ALL IN

VARIOUS CRASHES.  WHAT I NEED

TO DO IS PUT THE ART WORK AND

PICTURES ONTO ONE OF MY

EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES. THEN I

WOULD HAVE THEM TO GO

THROUGH AT MY LEISURE, LOL.

WHAT IS THAT?

YES, I WANT TO COME PLAY WITH

YOU.  I WANT TO MAKE CARDS

WITH YOU AND I WANT TO

SNUGGLE WITH SHOGUN WHETHER

HE LIKES IT OR NOT.  I WANT TO

WATCH MOVIES WITH YOU AND

MIKE.  IS THERE RECLINER IN

YOUR GUEST ROOM?  LOL

A GIRL CAN DREAM CAN'T SHE?

THE AC BOTHERS MY EYE ONLY AT

NIGHT BECAUSE THE BIG AC IS IN

MY ROOM AND MY CHAIR IS RIGHT

IN FRONT OF IT.  SO THE FAN IS

ON HIGH TO PUSH THE COLD OUT

AND THAT AIR RUSHES RIGHT

OVER ME.  THE OINTMENT IN MY

EYE WORKS GREAT AND AM USING

MOISTURISING EYE DROPS IN THE

DAYTIME.  THAT IS ALL HELPING

TOO.  I WILL BEAT THIS ISSUE.

WHEN I GET ME ROOM CLEANED,

I WILL MOVE MY CHAIR FROM IN

FRONT TO THE AC.  I HAVE TO

BUNDLE UP IN A BLANKET TO

SLEEP.

 DECIDED TO USE A RANDOM

BORDER AND THEN FIND A TAG TO

MATCH IT.  MIGHT BE A BIT HARD

THIS TIME BUT I HAVE HUNDREDS

OF TAGS AND SOMETHING WILL

MATCH I AM SURE.

TATA FOR NOW.

XOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/23/2016 7:59 AM)

For sure the Coffee Fairy will be needed today!

I got up to go to the bathroom just before 4

AM, and when I got back to bed I started

coughing and couldn't stop.   I decided that I

had to get up and go to the Morning Room so I

wouldn't keep Mike awake, but he told me just to

sit up in bed, and would it be ok if he put on a

movie.  I thought that was a great idea and

maybe he would be able to watch a few minutes

and get back to the sleep I had blasted him out

 of.  Well . . . no.

Something was wrong with the TV, and he spent

close to an hour trying to get the TV to work!

Finally he found a TV Reset button, and all is

well, but of course by then we were both wide

awake to stay.  I'm thinking we may last until

 around 9 AM.  We'll see.

We had saved Suits and Bones to watch while we

were watching the Convention, and we watched

them last night.   I had understood that Bones

was to be the Series Finale, but not so!  There is

a "Season 12" coming in January, and there was a

Cliff Hanger to keep us waiting until then.    It

was a bit of a shocker!  I normally don't like

cliff hangers very much, but this one is good.

I'm not sure I will watch all of the Democrat

Convention, but I know for sure I will join

Franklin Graham on Facebook on Monday to pray

live with thousands of others for the Convention,

the leadership, and our country, as we did before

the Republican Convention.   Darned if I know

 what else TO do!

My friend Judy in Omaha has been sending email

updates of their temps ~~ 104 with a heat index

of 116!   Omaha is the most humid place on earth,

I am positive, and that kind of heat with very

high humidity is unbearable.  She volunteers at

Hospice House and I worry about her doing all

the running around instead of staying in the AC

like Mike and I do.  We're in the 90s, and maybe

heading for almost 100 next week, but it's dry.

Smacks you in the face when you step outside

from the AC, as we have talked about, but I get

my face back in quickly.  lol

How fun that there are so many Brat Fries

over the weekends ~ and how not fun that

you haven't had any yet!   Mike has grilled

some for us, but we need to have more too.  I'm

sure you will get some!

You and really your whole family take on so

many things for others through various charities

and now through your mom's Tops.  I feel like

a super slug when I think of how little I do.

I AM a Super Slug!

I hope none of what you are doing has an

adverse effect on your eye.

We don't have a recliner in the guest room, but

we do have a big, old, overstuffed leather chair

with matching ottoman that I think would work

well ~ and if you didn't want to go downstairs

and have your own suite, I will offer you

one of the recliners in our Morning Room.  I

will even move my temporary craft room out and

make the ultimate sacrifice of cleaning out the

closet.   I wouldn't make those offers to anyone

but you!  ;-)

Have a happy day, and stay cool!

I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS UP HERE, BUT I AM SICK OF IT.

I WAS WRITING A LONG RAMBLING NOTE AND HIT THE BACK

BUTTON AND MY POST WAS GONE.  I CAN NEVER REMEMBER

(Date Posted:07/24/2016 9:20 AM)

Good Morning.

I'm so sorry you lost your post again!   I'm

sorry for you, and sorrier for ME!  The keys

you hit to hopefully recover a lost post are

Cntl_Z.  It works most of the time, but of

 course not always.

What are you up to today?  We need to take

the Chrysler for a ride ~ it' needs to get out

and stretch it's legs.   Haven't decided what

to do for dinner tonight, but I found some

yummy sounding recipes on Pinterest for some

time.  I may come back and share one or

 two.

Mike and I did catch a few zzzz's during the

day yesterday.   I was good until about 10

am, and then I couldn't keep my eyes open.

  I don't mean I was drowsy, I mean I

 COULDN'T keep my eyes open!

Fortunately we both slept pretty well last

night.  Every home should have a Mike.

Yesterday morning he made Lemon Pancakes

for us, and he has some leftover batter and

is going to make them again this morning!

They were delicious!  He found some batter

mix at Williams Sonoma ~ definitely yummy!

Sending hugs and love to you.

Here I am to try this again.   Control X, I will remember this.

I hope, I have a memory like a seive.

Lemon Pancekes sound wonderful, but I would not put syrup

on them.  What did you use?  Mom and I ordered out from

Pizza Hut and now have our leftovers fow a few days.

Yesterday, I typed up my moms program for TOPS in a

larger font than it was in the magazine.  My eyes were great

yesterday, I was seeing things more clearly and not once did

I use the magnifying glass.  Today I drew the 4 items mom

needs for her program, a ships steering wheel, a bouy, a

life saver and an anchor.  Then I had to color them.  My eyes

are not as great today and because I drew the objects on

the shiny side of the poster board the crayons went on

streaky and yucky.  But you do what you can.  Tomorrow,

before doing anything I will cut them out.  And that will be

her project done.  She is always volunteering to do things

and I am the one that has to do it, lol.  But what can I say,

I don't really mind. Then I am going to start on my bedroom

again.  I am sick of the way it looks.

I have not heard back from the ladies, so I am not sure

if we are getting together or not.

Cannot think of anything else to share at this time.

So tata for now.

XOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/25/2016 10:33 AM)

Hello!

We're currently at 73 degrees (lovely) but

heading for 93.  Ah, well.  I'm quite likely to

 stay inside anyway.  ;-)

DNC Convention kicks off today.  Once again,

I'll join Billy Graham's son, Franklin Graham,

in praying for our nation prior to the

convention at 2 PM Eastern time (noon my

time).  We did that last week before the RNC

Convention, and at the very least none of the

riots and attacks that had been predicted

took place.  At best ~~ ??

This is not a prayer for any specific candidates

to win the elections, but a prayer for our

 Nation and it's leaders.

If that interests you, here is the site

https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=franklin%20graham

Watching the news this morning ~ we certainly

live in interesting times.   Debbie Wasserman

Schultz is out as DNC Chair, though she

will speak at the kick off and closing of the

Convention.  Who would have thought that

the two political conventions would not only

be interesting, but be the most interesting

things on TV?!  ;-)

OhMyGoodness ~ look at the little print in your

post!  That IS encouraging!   I can't tell you

how I have hated what you have been going

through!

No ~~ Not Cntl_x to restore a lost post.  It's

Cntl_Z.

The Lemon pancakes were wonderful.  No, I

wouldn't want Maple syrup on them either.  I

would have put a light dusting of powdered

sugar on them ~~ if we had any powdered

sugar, but we don't.  Mike melted butter and

we poured that on like you would syrup.  Lovely.

They don't have a strong lemon taste, just

very subtle, slightly sweet, and completely

yummy.

Good for you getting all the things done for

your mom's TOPS meeting!  Wonderful that

your eye didn't pay a price for it!

Nothing planned for today.  We need to do

some housecleaning even though Shauna is

coming on Friday. The floor is dirty! Yesterday

I made a couple of card fronts, but still

haven't come up with the "insides".   I need

to ask our neighbor Sue over for "show and

tell" and to have her maybe show me some

of her things.  She's a "professional" crafter,

and I'm sure her cards are wonderful.  I

wouldn't hate picking her fertile brain!

What is stopping me?  I have become such a

hermit, that I have no idea what to serve her.

LOL ~~ Yes, you have my permission to laugh

at me too.  (guffaw.  snort)

Barb came over last night to bring us a colorful

and lovely hot pad from Guatemala.  She

almost always brings us something from her

trips and I love it!   She has been home for two

weeks, and in a week she is going on a seven

week mission to Niger!  In between (today

through Wednesday) she is going to CA to visit

her aunt who is dying of lung cancer.  She has

never accepted Christ, and this is Barb's last

chance to talk to her.

Stay cool and have a great day!

Hello, I am here.  Do not get too surprised by the size of

the font, because I  have the whole page blown up, lol.

I did get the objects cot out. Moms program went well

and the group really wnjoyed it.Those that got the objects

referred too kept their items.  Like LaVerne is the group

leader, so she is the Ships Captain and she got the ships

steering wheel.  Best of all she made the angelfood pine-

apple cake and I got to have some when she got home.

Now tomorrow we have the ladies coming sometime after

11am.  I did not get up till 11 today. I could not believe

it. A full 8 hours and still I doze off. What is with that?

I will have to have mom wake me in the morning. Mom has

been having a real incontinency issue lately.  She wears the

pads but they are not enough she just stands up and is

gushes out. I think she needs to talk to her doctor and

start wearing a full diaper. I hate that word and I know

they have better words for it, but between you and me

I will use it. I think I am becoming immume to the odor.

Mom had an accident in the kitchen because I was in the

bathroom, though she said it would not have mattered. So

she threw towels on it. Her clothes and shoes were full.

The floor had a small pond. Afrer picking it all up and

throwing it in the bathroom hamper I went to wash the

floor and could only find half the mop. Mom was going

to ask Chris where the rest was as we could not find it.

I just asked her if she did and and she did not. Joanne

was here andsoid it smelled like pee in the kitchen and

bathroom. Mom thinks we should just spray Febreeze.

I said that does not fix the problem. She says she will

find it. One way or another I am washing the floor in

the morning.  By coming when they are, I will be able

to be here tomorrow!  Yay!! I almost wish we would do

lunches instead of supper.  We will see how it goes

tomorrow.

It is so very nice that Barb brings you little gifts. It

is nice to see them about and think of Barb and where

they come from and what she does there.  God Bless

her and all those like her.  And their famllies who have

to miss them when they are gone. It is just like our

service people and their families. God Bless them all too!

I will see you tomorrow. Tata for now.

XOXOXO

Hello!  Whatcha up to today?

Did you go to the DNC Convention last

night?  We didn't. We figured we would see

and hear the highlights several times

today,  so we watched Rizzoli and Isles and

 Major Crimes instead.

It's heading for 93 again today, but it will

be 74 in Dorothy World, and I'll be in

sweats as usual.  smiley109

I'm having fits with the type changing size

or deciding to scrunch together.  It looks

fine as I'm typing, but Heaven only knows

what it will look like when I actually post.

How did you make a Ship's Captain's wheel?

I'm assuming it was something large

enough to see from the podium, but I

can't imagine how you made it.  The

Angelfood-pineapple cake sounds

fabulous!

Nice that your friends are coming earlier

today!

Oh, I'm sorry about your mom's problems!

That sounds terrible ~ for both of you!

Bless her heart!   Let's you and I not

get that, ok?  I hope you can get the

kitchen cleaned before the ladies get there.

Have a good day!

Happy Hump Day!

I have a much needed haircut

 this morning, so this will

 (hopefully) be quick.  It's either

that or an application for a

 Shaggy Dog License.

Windows 10 ~~ Apparently we

have two days to still get the

"upgrade" (if that's what it is)

for free, and after that it's

 something approaching $200, I

believe if we want to switch to

 Windows 10.  Once we switch,

we have 30 days during which

 time we can (supposedly) switch

back.  Forgive me for being a bit

 of a Conspiracy Theorist, but

I'm not sure how much I trust

 that.

From Mike's observations, it's

 mostly ok.  He hasn't seen

 anything he considers a big

 improvement, but there is much

 more advertising, and you have

to wait for the advertising to

 load, which takes time.   You

also have to use the password

you have for your email, which

 in my case is a

 terribly convoluted thing

 because my mail got hacked

more than once.  Typing that in

every time I turn my Laptop on

is going to be a pain in my tush!

Sooo, I'm anxious to see how

you like Windows 10, AND how

 or if it impacts PSP.

Gotta run!
