JULY

Blue July, bright July,
Month of storms and gorgeous blue;
Violet lightnings o'er thy sky,
Heavy falls of drenching dew;
Summer crown! O'er glen and glade
Shrinking hyacinths in their shade;
I welcome thee with all thy pride,
I love thee like an Eastern bride.
Though all the singing days are done
As in those climes that clasp the sun;
Though the cuckoo in his throat
Leaves to the dove his last twin note;
Come to me with thy lustrous eye,
Golden-dawning oriently,
Come with all thy shining blooms,
Thy rich red rose and rolling glooms.
Though the cuckoo doth but sing 'cuk, cuk,'
And the dove alone doth coo;
Though the cushat spins her coo-r-roo, r-r-roo -
To the cuckoo's halting 'cuk.'

Sweet July, warm July!
Month when mosses near the stream,
Soft green mosses thick and shy,
Are a rapture and a dream.
Summer Queen! Whose foot the fern
Fades beneath while chestnuts burn;
I welcome thee with thy fierce love,
Gloom below and gleam above.
Though all the forest trees hang dumb,
With dense leafiness o'ercome;
Though the nightingale and thrush,
Pipe not from the bough or bush;
Come to me with thy lustrous eye,
Azure-melting westerly,
The raptures of thy face unfold,
And welcome in thy robes of gold!
Tho' the nightingale broods-'sweet-chuck-sweet' -
And the ouzel flutes so chill,
Tho' the throstle gives but one shrilly trill
To the nightingale's 'sweet-sweet.'

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:06/30/2015 10:10 PM)

I HAVE NOTHING DONE, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I WILL WORK ON IT TOMORROW AND SEE WHAT I CAN GET DONE. THE LADIES JUST LEFT AND I AM HURTING. WE WERE OUT ON THE PORCH AND CAROLE AND I WERE ON THE SWING AND AFTER A BIT I TOLD HER WE HAD TO SIT STILL AS MY HIP WAS HURTING. IT COULD NOT TAKE ALL THAT MOVEMENT IN THE HIP. BUT ONE OR THE OTHER OF US WOULD START SWINGING AGAIN AND I WOULD CATCH US WHEN MY HIP WOULD SCREAM AT ME. FINALLY IT WAS HURTING ENOUGH THAT I SAID I HAD TO GO IN. I COULD HARDLY GET UP THE STEPS. OH WELL, IT WILL GET BETTER. TONIGHT I HAD TO BITE MY TONGUE AND SAY NOTHING AS CAROL WAS SAYING HOW SICK THE BRUCE/CAITLYN BRENNER THING WAS. AND GLORIA SAID THEY WANTED CAITLYN TO GO ON DANCING WITH THE STARS AND CAROLE WAS LIKE THAT IS SO DISGUSTING. I SAID WHY, CHAZ/CHASTITY BONO DID IT AND NO ONE SEEMED TO MIND. SHE WENT ON AND ON ABOUT OH HE HAD A FEELING AND THAT GOD MADE A MISTAKE....GOD DOES NOT MAKE MISTAKES. I SAID WHAT ABOUT  HERMAPHRODITES? SHE WAS A NURSE AND SHE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THAT AND SAID IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE. I SAID OH YES IT IS.  WHAT ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO BE...A GIRL OR A BOY?  SHE REALLY DID NOT HAVE AN ANSWER FOR THAT. I AM SURPRISED SHE DID NOT START IN ON THE GAY MARRIAGE THING AND I DID NOT BRING IT UP...I WANTED TO SCREAM BECAUSE AS FAR AS TRANSGENDERS, CAROLE, MOM & GLORIA SEEMED TO BE AGREEING ON THIS SUBJECT SO I JUST KEPT MY MOUTH SHUT. MAKES ME SO SAD THAT PEOPLE HAVE SUCH PREJUDICE AND HATE IN THEM...EVEN MY MOM SHOCKS ME FROM TIME TO TIME.

I THINK IT IS GOOD THAT YOU KNOW IT IS TIME TO CHANGE THE BATTERY. NO MORE WORRYING THAT IS THIS IS OR ANOTHER MONTH. GET IT OVER WITH. THEN YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY FOR A LONG TIME. HOW LONG DOES A BATTERY USUALLY LAST?

I STILL HAVE TO CHECK OUT MY EMAIL AND THEN AM GOING TO CALL IT A NIGHT AND GET UP AT A DECENT HOUR TOMORROW AND GET STARTED ON EVERYTHING.
THIS TAG WAS A VACATION POST CARD CHALLENGE. HUGS,

.

Happy Canada Day!
I hope the sun shines on Canada and no rain falls today and the fireworks are spectacular!   (Can you tell this post was geared to Barb in the other group?  LOL   She's as American as Apple Pie, but she has lived in Canada with her Canadian husband Tom for many, many years).

Looks to be a hot day, but not as hot as it has been, and with a small chance of rain.  We need to get the trash and recycles ready to take out tonight, or early tomorrow.  The cats have both found patches of sunlight to sleep in, and Mike and I are having coffee and puttering online, while watching an episode of Murdoch Mysteries in the background.  Hey!  That's Canadian, isn't it!

I will need to do my first of the month banking today too, getting funds transferred and bank books balanced, though I may wait to do the dread Budget Book.  I also have a load of laundry to fold.  Such excitement!
smiley23

Please, please take your time and don't kill yourself getting the new July pages up.  I know they will be worth waiting for, and I love anticipation!

I'm so sorry you got into a bad pain situation last night.  Kind of spoils the fun of getting together with your good friends.

You know, I'm not really sure how I feel about the transgender issue.  How can I know what someone else feels, and therefore needs?  Largely, if you don't bother me, I'm not going to bother you, so I'm pretty live and let live.  I won't go out and march in the transgender parade, but I won't throw tomatoes at them when they pass by, either.  How's that for non committment?  ha.  I do feel strongly that the taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for the surgery, and particularly for criminal illegal aliens, but that's a whole 'nuther issue, isn't it?
I do remember hearing someone pose the questions about God not making mistakes ~~ What about the giraffe?  Or what about men having their most vulnerable equipment on the outside?  LOL  (I know.  I'm bad!)

I agree that it's good to get this surgery over with, even though of course I don't want to do it.  In the past, when things began to run down I would have to come into the office for the device to be interrogated every two months, and then every month, and then Bing.  Surgery next week.   Being able to do most of the interrogations from home has been great, and having the three month window so there isn't the sense of urgency ~ or don't make any plans for anything this year ~ is also such a blessing.

If you have a pacemaker or defibrillator then you may eventually hear the term ERI. ERI stands forElective Replacement Interval. In other words, your device is close to the end of it’s battery and will need to be replaced soon. Luckily, there is still plenty of time to get the procedure done. ERI usually means the device is getting LOW on battery but there is still energy left for several weeks or months. If your doctor mentions the term EOL that is much more critical. EOL stands for End Of Life and that means the device should be changed out much sooner.

Officially it should take about a week to recover from my surgery, but it won't be bad, like a more serious surgery would be.  I expect to be a bit "ouchy" for maybe another week after that, but nothing too bad.  Not being able to wash my hair, and being hampered with how much I can use the curling iron will be the worst.  (Vanity, Thy name is Dorothy ~ Lol)   I do believe I will hide out inside and not answer the door for a while.    My biggest concern, well one of 'em, is that I need to drink a lot of water to pump up my veins so they can get a needle in ~~~ and then there's the fact that hospitals and doctors make me extremely nervous, and I have to go to the bathroom ANYway, not to mention because of the extra water.  Once they get you in the gown and with an IV in, heading for the bathroom is problematic.  Oh, goodie ~ one more thing to make me nervous and needing the potty.  Ha!

The other thing is What to do with Mike.  ;-)   He wants to come in with me and wait until he can join me in the recovery area, but it will be at least three hours until I'm out, and then there are some hours in Recovery.  The waiting rooms are crowded and uncomfortable, and the Recovery area isn't comfy either.  I'd love to have him there, but I think I'd be happier knowing he saw me off and then went out to breakfast and then did most of his waiting in the car where it would be more comfy, with tunes and a book.  Problem is, if he does go for breakfast he might not be able to get a close parking place and he couldn't walk from the car to the hospital, and staying in the car is problematic because I won't be able to keep my cell phone with me so I can call and tell him to come and get me.  It will all work out.

Cute tag ~~ I suspect I will never be able to send anyone a postcard from Japan any other way, so this is great.  Thank you!

Well, I got the page done but still have the Skin to do. That I will work on tomorrow.  I must be getting old, because this took me a long time to do. Course I had to get all the info together and written out and mom read it to me as I typed.  I will get it done tomorrow, I have the Header done. Just need the background, icons if they will change and the other fill ins.
OMG, I really laughed out loud when I read your "Vanity thy name is Dorothy" too funny. I know a l ot of people just like you.  You will be fine. You fret over the same things I do when you have to be out and about and know one understands it unless they live it. I worry so much about going somewhere and not knowing how we are going to work it out.  Believe me when I say I totally understand and I feel your anxiety. But I trust in God that all will work out. This tags was just a pink and purple challenge. See, I used a BAMA tube.
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/02/2015 8:03 AM)

And a Cheery Good Morning to you.

I meant to ask if you or any of your friends and family watched Zoo the night before last, and if you did, what you thought of it.   It caught our interest and held us, but I don't think we've "decided" about it yet.  Some great photography and scary scenes, also good cast.

I appreciate that it comes on AFTER Rizzoli and Isles so we don't have to miss or record and watch either later.

I have to do my blood test today and bring in the trash and recycle bins and pick up a bit before Shauna comes.  She comes tomorrow so I may not be on line, or at least not early.  Weather forecast for the week is all over the board.  Now they are showing it possibly raining every day EXCEPT Saturday.  I really hope it doesn't rain on the 4th.  We were going to make my friend Shiela's fruit salad in a watermelon ;basket' for the block party, but we chickened out, so we'll do half of that ~~ fruit with a wee dram of Grand Mariner in a big watermellon colored bowl. ;-)

I found a better picture of our wreath ~ actually an advertising pic. Mine was taken with my cell phone and it was too dark.  Anyway, you can see it better at the top of this post.

No New Topic

I love watching the new pages and skins come to life.  Lovely, lovely!

I am planning to have my hair cut right before the surgery, and I did think of having Sheryl just shampoo and blow it dry for me afterwards when I'm not supposed to shower.  We aren't usually too social, but if I look "good" I never see anyone, and if I look like something the cat spit up, we're guaranteed to have people pop over, or to meet some neighbor at the mailbox.  Never fails!  This will be a good back up.

I LOVE your new BAMA Birthday tag!  You should offer it, or at least post it in the July Birthday thread for the July babies to enjoy.   Thank you!

Have a Happy Made in the USA Day!

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/02/2015 3:24 PM)

I am so irritated that the icons and the  hover color still will not change. The old icons and color look awful with this new skin. I get nothing from Aimoo about it. A month or two ago they said they were "working" on it. What a bunch of bull. I suppose I should not get so upset about it, but it just ruins the look.
That wreath is gorgeous. Love it. I hope it does not rain on your party either. I would hate to see it all get ruined. Having to move into garages separates everyone. Why not just do a watermelon bowl instead of a basket. That is easy enough to do. Or are you buying your fruit already cut up?
Mom talked with Leigh, and at this time he does not want her bringing any of the pictures with Marcia in them. He said save them for later when the boys are older and can decide if they want the pictures. I do not know why he could not just store them instead of us. Mom is trying to get a lot of things out of here and giving stuff to family now. She has been sending box after box to St. Vinnies. Oh well.
Has the new season of Rizzoli and Isles started?  I thought they were just showing reruns each time I checked. Well, if it has, I can catch up on On Demand.
As I am all caught up on Criminal Minds and on NCIS.
The below tag was a tutorial challenge. It was fun to make and did not use any outside plugins.
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/03/2015 2:35 PM)

Give a cheer ~ I'm finally here!
Shauna came early this morning ~ 8AM ~ because of the holiday.  She will go back to our normal 9:30 time in the future, thank goodness.  Laugh.  She took four hours and left the place spotless.   We are paying more than we were before, but she does such a fantastic job of cleaning that it really is worth it.   Of course we still get tired and everyone but me is snoozing right now.   We wash Chrysties two beds (one was supposed to be Shogun's but they are now both Chrysties) while Shauna is here, and she absolutely goes nuts after Shauna leaves until we pull them, all nice and fresh and WARM, out of the dryer and turn them over to her.  One goes in the bedroom and one is left in the Great room, and she goes back and forth between them, especially right after they are returned to her.  lol

Shogun has been extra affectionate today.  I wonder what he's plotting.  I was sitting in my recliner in the Morning room and he'd come up to the right side and stand on his hind legs and nudge me with his head so I'd scratch his back and rub his head.  Then he'd disappear, and pretty soon he was back, on the other side.  I'm beginning to be afraid . . .

We bought the fruit for our fruit bowl already cut up (Lazy!) and it's waiting in the fridge to be assembled tomorrow.  How much Grand Mariner should I use.  Mike wants to add some sugar to the strawberries tonight so they will mascerate and make lots of lovely sweet juice to add to the bowl tomorrow.  Sounds like a good idea.   Right now there isn't much juice in any container, and because it's going to be so hot tomorrow (90s) I was thinking of putting some juice and a little fruit into a few of my muffin cups and freezing them to add to the bowl.  As it melts it will only add more flavor.  What do you think?

The neighbors have their flags flying and the one across the street also has patriotic bunting over their porch railing.  It looks like an old fashioned small town Fourth, and I love it!

Wow. Wow! WOW!   Your skins (and page header) are absolutely spectacular!   I know you aren't satisfied with how things turned out, but I'm not just being polite ~ I think it's awesome!

I'm glad Leigh told your mom ahead of time that he doesn't want the pictures now rather than having her bring them and asking her to take them back.

Sounds like your mom is really "downsizing".  I should too.  I think about doing it often, but I never do anything about it.

Yes, Rizzoli and Isles started a few weeks ago.  So good to be able to catch up on On Demand!

I LOVE my new tag, and the border!  Lovely.  Thank you!

Happy Fourth Eve!

Dorothy

This is what it says in the forum about icons and

hover colors and I am not quite sure what they

mean. Am I able to change servers and be in this

 group? Do you understand?

The forum icons are not working in forums on servers 1, 2, and 3.  We have reported this but the techs have had no luck fixing them.  The hover color sounds like a new problem.
When making a skin, I have had to make it on a server 4 forum.  That server is not affected by the forum icon problem.  So I make my entire skin on server 4, name it, then apply it to my forum on server 2.  This has worked for me.

So if you choose to do this, you would need to apply your skin in server 4, fix the things that are not working....then go back to server 2 forum and apply it.  If you need a server 4 forum, just get a new one.  All new forums are on server 4 and come with 12 days Diamond.  If you want to delete the forum after you have used it, let us know and we can ask Andy to get rid of it.

Been making tags like crazy and got 3 more done plus names on 2 more. 5 patriotic tags. Oh well, everyone will have them for next year. Have 2 more tags to make by Sun and then it starts all over again. It is too much. It used to be 3 tag challenges a week in Wakana's group, but now it is 5 and it is always 2 in CDO. I have no time to make tags that I would like to make. B*tch, b*tch, b*tch. lol
I am glad that you really like the job that Shauna does for you, even if it does cost more than before. I am sure that Chrystie just loves that warm bed. Better than laying in a ray of sunshine, lol.
I hope your weather holds and you will be able to have your neighborhood party without getting cooped up in the garages. We are supposed to get rain tomorrow morning. Maybe even a storm. Not getting my hopes up, lol.
We have no plans for tomorrow. All the rest of the family are doing their own thing. Joanne has invited us out for Sunday night for fish on the grill. So we will be doing that. A lot of fireworks going off outside. Had some off and on throughout the past week. Now through Sunday will be noisy. We have neighbors 2 doors down on both sides of us that like to do fireworks. Someone let off an M-80 the other day, scared the crap out of me. They are like a bomb going off.
Maybe I will find some time to get into BAMA at some point this weekend. I do not think I have any time to offer tags there. I am sure there is a big response to offers, though I have not had a chance to look yet.
Have a great day tomorrow.
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/03/2015 9:01 PM)

Nope, it's not going to work the way she suggested.  The problem is that you don't own the group and neither do I.  If one of us did, we could give the other permissions to create and save skins, but as it stands now, we can create, but we can't save.

I own the other group and when I go into customize, in addition to "Edit Skin", I have "Your Skin Collection" where I can save up to 20 skins that I either create myself or that I've taken from Aimoo.   Here, I suspect that like me, you only see "Edit Skin".

You could create a new group on Forum 4 that you would own.  The problem is that you couldn't create a skin in forum 4 and use it here.

Problem 2 is that if you wanted to move Cuppa Girls to Forum 4, you'd have to move everything here over there.  Problematic, but we could take our time and do that little by little and just meet there every day while we are in the process of moving.   Something to think about.  Is it worth all that work or not?

When we were having so much trouble with Aimoo a while back, Debbie suggested opening a group on Forum 4 to me, and I did that.  I created the bare bones of the group and transferred a bit over and thought we could use it as a backup group if our group on Server 1 totally died, but so far things have been pretty good since then and I haven't been tempted to move.  In fact, I'd better go and post a hello or something there so they don't take the group down for me!

Anyway, something to think about.

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/04/2015 10:55 AM)

Good Morning ~ Happy 4th of July!

Please enjoy the Texas Tenors singing  "Proud to be an American"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daqwGRdRIsk

We got the salad put together this morning and added some Grand Marnier.  We'll check in an hour or so to see if we need to add more. We should have put it together last night and we might have more juice ~ oh, well.  The other downside of buying fruit already cut up is that much of it is cut into bigger pieces than I would have.  The little cups we got to let people put it in will likely be too small ~ but I'm bringing a slotted spoon and if it isn't too juicy they may not need the cups.  The "upside" of course is how easy it was to do ~ you know I'm all about easy.

We had more fruit than would fit in the 26 cup bowl, but I think we will be able to enjoy the strawberries, pineapple, cantalope and watermelon that wouldn't fit.  My FEAR is that no one will eat the other 26 cups and we'll have to bring that home too!  gulp.   Guess we'll hafta see.  So far, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.  Hope it holds!

LOL @ your taking on too much in the groups.  Hey, that's what keeps you young.  Or . . . it that what's going to age you?  I always get those things mixed up.  LOL.  As you know, I read about two paragraphs a day, don't play games, I haven't even done my Lumosity in a couple of weeks and I'm STILL always behind.  I couldn't keep up with you for one day!    Love the new TGIF tag.  Thank you!

Shauna does a wonderful job.  Better than I did when I could do.  It's worth a little more money to us both.  When I told Marcela I couldn't wait and had to make other arrangements, she did respond and said she understood, but she really was sick.  Later I emailed her the video of Shogun with the Water Monster and she responded to that saying how cute it was.  She was always so good to the cats ~ even brought them presents.  The other woman we never heard from after her sister called to say she was sick and couldn't come that day.  I said how sorry I was that she was ill, and neither of us made any further effort.  The gal she works for, Sherri, said that she had been concerned about the cats because of her allergies.  Interesting, because I made a major point of telling her and anyone else we interviewed that we had cats before she came.  I think we are both happy about her not working for us.  We couldn't be happier with Shauna ~~ even if we did buy a new vacuum for the other woman.

Better go check the fruit bowl out ~~ and maybe add some more booze.  ;-)

Well, shucks.  I had a beautiful border around my post and it scrolled all over the place so I just stripped it out.  Grrr!

OMG, I just realized I have the wrong header in the page opener.  It was the same one as on the group header.  The border did not even match it.  I have it corrected now, lol.
We never got rain either and it has been a beautiful day.  Got to be about 81 out.  Right now the neighborhood sounds like a war zone, lol.  It will calm down soon, hopefully.
Your fruit sounds awesome. I love fruit salad but not sure about it being in the Grand Marnier.
I do not know what the hell is going on here.  When I made the skins, I made sure it had white for the area that the notes post so that if we did not use borders, it would be easy to see.  If I use a tile, the whole area is the tile (for the left side border). It was that way when I read them tonight, but now as I write and look back, it is all red and cannot see half the writing. I hope it goes back to normal after I post this.
Moving our group would mean an awful lot of work that I just do not have time for right now. But I will keep it in mind as I hate the icons not matching the skin.  If they went back to standard that would be better than mismatched ones. I will have to think long and hard about this one.
I love the animation on your tag, it is so well done.
Hugs,

PS...it does go back to white once I post!!

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/05/2015 7:30 AM)

Good Morning!

God bless America!  We survived The Fourth, and I haven't heard of any ISIS attacks.  Typical Mike and Dorothy, we made WAY too much fruit salad for the Block Party.  Please!  Come and take some!

Second picture was the fruit before adding that in the containers!  I only added half of what we bought, and it filled the bowl to the top. Then I added some Grand Marnier and let it sit for a couple of hours and then added some more.

It produced a lot of juice and the fruit "shrank", but still weighed half a ton.  lol!  I put the bowl on the seat of my walker to take to the party. I don't believe I could have carried it on my own.  I thought fruit was such a good idea because everyone else would bring other things.  Wrong!  there were at least five fruit plates or fruit salads.  We brought most of it home, in ADDITION to the fruit that hadn't been added to the bowl!

I know we can eat the un-marinated fruit for breakfasts.  Mike has already done some serious picking at the strawberries and pineapples.  I offered as much of the salad as she can use to Barb to take to another party she's going to today, and if she can't use it, we will freeze it.  I think that should work, don't you?

It started to rain and was very windy around 4:30, but it quit before the party at 5:30.  Everything was set up in our neighbor's garage and then we lined the driveway and a bit more with our chairs.  Mike and I ultimately ate with some friends inside the garage and then went on back outside.  It was a much smaller crowd than they have had in the past, but that was nice, too, because we could visit more easily.  Anyway, nice party.

This was about half the food table.  I didn't get a good pic of the other side. The HOA furnishes bbq pork and all the trimmings to make bbq pork sandwiches, and they had lemonade and tea and bottled water in addition to all the desserts, cookies and other food.

Roxie gave out prizes and made everything more fun, in addition to doing most of the organizing.  She's the one who just retired.

We're supposed to have rain every day for a while, but right now it's bright and sunny and heading for 90.

Couldn't you just listen to the Texas Tenors all day?  I love their rendition of Proud to be an American ~ of course I love everyone's version of that song.  ;-)

Both of your headers are great.  I really love this skin and I wish you could save it.  Just spectacular.   I also love that you made the darling Pen UpTeens tag for me.  Thank you!

I've had that happen with several old and often used borders, too. There is one that has a red bandana primary tile and a white center ~ or it did.  Now the center is red and as you say, unreadable when you type in it.  Thanks Aimoo.  I have no idea why some borders are effected but not all.  Another issue is the scrolling borders.  Yesterday I used one of annieM's that I have used before and it scrolled all over the place so I just removed it.  Soooo annoying.

Clyde, who did the tag I used yesterday is a Master at animations.  She does some incredible things ~ and she has a really kinky sense of humor so some of the tags are really funny, too.

Oh, goodie.  I added a sentence and ALL of the font size changed.  I give up!

Great that you avoided the rain too.  Did you watch any fireworks?

Have a Fabulous Day.

Dorothy

You are going to be getting patriotic tags for a couple of days that you will just have to save for next year.  I would never remember to send them next year, lol.
Did not do much of anything today.  I woke up with a headache right between my eyes and it was awful.  It stayed with me all day moving around in my head.  I layed back in my chair with a cold cloth on my head and fell asleep. Now I will probably be up all night.
Mom went out to Joannes and was gone from 2 ish till almost 8.  I was supposed to go but with this blasted headache I stayed home. Glad I did. Joannes MIL was there too and the 3 of them sat in the dining room talking and the "men" were in the living room with sports. I would have been stuck with them and very unhappy about it.  So instead, I napped and I had already slept 7 hours last night. Yet I still feel exhausted.
Wish I was near you, I would take some of the fruit off your hands.  I love fruit and could eat it all the time, especially when it is all cut up already.  Yogurt makes a great sauce for fresh fruit.  Just mix it all up with yogurt and then get some sugared pecans and drop them on top of the salad or individual serving.  I usually skip the nuts as I do not want the added sugar.  But they are good.  I so love a good "pot luck" as you get to try so many new things. What is the small yellow in your mixed marnier bowl fruit?  It looked like corn when I first looked.
Lot's of last minute stuff to do tomorrow as mom leaves on Tuesday.  Need to check my calendar to see if I have anything this week.
Chat with you tomorrow.
Hugs,
PS....was that statement about pen up teens a joke, lol, or a typo for PinUp Toons?  I have used PinUp Toons for all the patriotic tags.

RE:WELCOME TO JULY CHAT
(Date Posted:07/06/2015 11:42 AM)

Rainy Days and Mondays ~ Today qualifies as both.  Positively gloomy out there!   Everything seems to be running so slowly ~ including me.  I can't seem to get anything done,  Frustrating.

I've been trying to send some pictures I took at the Block Party to the neighbors and I'm having trouble making that work too.  I may just curl up in a book and let the rest of the day happen without my input.  ;-)

With the fruit in my salad "shrinking" and some being eaten, we were able to put all of it into four of those containers the fresh individual fruits came in (well washed in hot soapy water, of course).  We froze one container and gave three to Barb to take to the second 4th of July party she attended yesterday ~ or is that a 5th of July party?  Anyway, all has been taken care of.    She is going back to Guatemala this Friday, for 6 a week mission.    She has been home for quite a while this time because after her last Mission she had 'incipient TB' (I think that's what she called it) and was under treatment for it.  All cleared now, so she's back to work in the mission field.

The salad was good, and we will enjoy the frozen version later (I hope. Freezing melon is 'iffy').  Right now we have a container of pineapple, another of Mandarin Oranges and two of not-ripe-enough cantelope to eat.  Not saying that we got carried away when shopping or anything .   I wish we were closer cuz I'd sure have loved to share.  If we ate all that fruit ourselves we wouldn't be able to leave the bathroom.  LOL

I had to go back and look at the picture of the salad.  The yellow stuff looked kind of like cheese cubes to me ~ lol.  It was the yellow cantelope.

We're only supposed to get up to the mid 6os today, with rain.  What a change!  I'm so glad it wasn't like this on Saturday.

I am so sorry I didn't take pictures of all the flags flying in our neighborhood.  There were several, and it makes my face smile to see them.

Oh, gosh. What a burden to have to accept several new patriotic tags from you.  Well, I GUESS I can handle it.  (LOL)   You know how nutz I go at all things American and patriotic.  THANK you!!!

I'm sorry  you had such a miserable headache, but in spite of the pain it sounds like it might have been a good thing to have to miss the party.  I still remember big family get togethers where the guys would have the TV AND the radio stations blaring different ball games at the same time.  By the end of the day I wanted to run into the street screaming!   Not my favoritest memories.  lol

So your mom leaves tomorrow.  It's going to be really quiet ~~ unless Chris and Scott (?) liven things up for you.  ;-)   I know you will miss her, but take advantage and do some of the things you normally don't get to do.  That will make the time go by faster ~ and funner!

Have lovely

Glad you got your fruit situation all sorted out and that it will not go to waste.  I am not talking about the cantaloupe in the bowl, what I think it is, is broken pieces of mandarin oranges, lol.  I did not know they were in there until you mentioned them in your post.

God Bless Barb and people like her.  They give and give.  I wish I were able to help others.  I know how much I appreciate help when I need it.  She is a true Saint.  I am glad she was able to use the fruit.  I will keep her in my prayers and the people she is caring for.  I hope Guatemala does not have Ebola or anything like it.

Mom has been driving me crazy yesterday and today.  She keeps misplacing things and then being unable to find where it is.  She is so anxious.  She so wants to see everyone but the trip is hard on her.  I think I need to warn them all about her talking in her sleep.  I never know if she is talking to me or asleep, lol.  Last night she opened her eyes and said I was talking to that squirrel down there and laughed. I said you did not say anything...it must have been in your sleep and you did not say it out loud.  Last night it was funny, but other times not. So I think a warning is in order.

Tomorrow they will go to Illinois to visit with my Aunt Sandy and spend the night there.  That will take 2 hours off their trip. Wed they will leave for Leigh's and that is a 10 hour drive.  They will leave Leigh's the following Thursday they will leave Arkansas and go to Kentucky for her sibling reunion.  Then leave Sun, the 19th and come home.  So they will be gone 10 days.  I think last year they were gone 13 days so it is a bit shorter.  I will be fine.  I am sure I will tell you if I get weirded out, lol.  Will chat with you tomorrow.

Hugs,
