RE:WELCOME TO JANUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:01/24/2016 11:46 PM)

I am afraid that I cannot root for the Bronco's.  My nephew Brent said that the Bronco fans were the worst he had ever seen.  They were really mean and nasty to Packer fans with he was in Denver.  So he wants them to lose so I do not dare root for them.  If the Packers are not there I really do not care, lol.  That is the way I am.  GO PACK GO

Yes, I really wish that something would work it's way into Scott and Chris's puny little brains that the alcohol is killing them.  They do not have knock down drag out fights when they have not been drinking.  How do you get alcoholics to quit.  We could not get my dad to so I doubt anything we say is going to get through to Chris and Scott.  I wish it would because they can be great neighbors.  I also do not want to lose Chris as our cleaning lady.  But if they continue to screw up and do not catch up with the landlord then one of these days he will have to evict them.  Especially if Kathy from upstairs carries through with her threat to look for something else come Spring.

I do love the house when it is clean.  It makes it easier to justify sitting around doing nothing. lol.  But my room needs to be bombed and we need to clean out the back room and repurpose it's use.  I would like to see if the landlord would add washer and dryer outlets in there.  Then we could do our own laundry.  But mom would like to move the freezer up into that room so she would know what she has.  It may be a better plan.  Then again, I would like yo make it what we were going to do a while back and set up my ebay store back there.  I could place all the things I want to sell on shelves.  I already have a bookcase filled with shipping boxes, etc.  I also have a scale, etc.  I would have to work from back there.  But it is cheaper to have an ebay store than it is to sell things individually. Mom thinks I should just donate everything.  But there is a lot of money invested in some of that stuff and I need to money.  Even $5 is better than giving it away.  Not sure my mom is willing to do that anymore.  We will see.

Will chat with you tomorrow sister dearest.  Oh, and I enjoy your pretty posts and often forget to tell you that too!

Good Morning

Jack is off his meds now and doing well.  They are still going to keep him at home till the end of the week.  'Grandpa' Benji spent a couple of days there, playing with him. Apparently the two are best buddies.  Makes me smile. Mary Ann is there now, so Katie can go back to work.  Her company"Paper, Rock, Scissors" (custom invitation studio) is up for an award in Minnesota Bride's Magazine.  She won last year!

Ok, I won't expect you to cheer the Broncos on. To be honest, I rarely watch the games, but going to the Superbowl is something kind of special.   I'm sorry the Bronco's fans were rude to Brent.  I can guarantee that I wasn't there (since we never go) so I don't have to worry that I did something to offend.  Sports fans really can be awful, and I certainly won't excuse it.

No, I'm sure there is nothing you can do or say to change Chris and Scott or help them overcome their addictions.  It's just a shame, because they do sound like good kids when they are not doing drugs or getting drunk.  When you say they aren't catching up with the Landlord, what do you mean?  It would be a shame for their behavior to force Kathy to move out.

Maybe you can just pay Chris to clean your room and move things you need moved one time.  When we were paying the others "by the job", I would pay them extra to clean the Guest Suite or do something extra for us occasionally.

You have mentioned selling on eBay, but not for a while.  I don't think I realized you were so heavily involved in it.  You make lovely things to sell ~ and I have a beautiful bracelet to prove it! ;-)

I have things I used to collect and thought about selling them on eBay a long time ago, but thought the process of packing them for shipping and mailing them sounded like a whole lot of work. Lol. I guess now one could just buy some of those USPS mailer boxes and have the Post Office pick them up, which wouldn't be too bad.

Have a lovely day, Little Sis.

Hello.

More bad news.  Another of our neighbors has died.  We didn't know him well, but he seemed like a very nice man. He had a stroke before we moved here, nearly 5 years ago.  He and his wife attended most of the Neighborhood parties, he in his motorized scooter, always smiling.  He is I think the fifth person to die since we've been here.   The downside of living in a community of mostly older people, I guess.  Sad.

I still can't get my head around annnieM losing her Dave.

I had never heard of snow kiting before so I looked at some YouTube Videos of that in the Big Horn Mountains.  Oooh, Mercy!

I am so glad she has a big and loving family.  I know they will support and care for her, but it's hard to even imagine.  She's had to deal with so much, and Dave has been her major support.

Another very quiet day for us. Today the fellow from Mountain High will come by to give us an estimate to have our Spruce tree trimmed.  It really looks pretty, but it's grown so wide soon it will be hard to pass it to get to the back yards.  Time to do something.

I haven't heard from the Couch guy yet.  He said two weeks or less, and it was two weeks yesterday.  I may give him a call if I don't hear today.

It all seems so trivial, doesn't it?

RE:WELCOME TO JANUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:01/26/2016 11:33 PM)

Hello, I wrote to April on FB.  Will see if she writes back.  I am sure they are busy with preparations.  I find it so sad that this has happened.  Sudden deaths are so hard to understand.  I think Dave was just 1 year older than me. But in the long run, he died doing something he loved. But am wondering how Deanna got along when he was gone on trips. Thanks for the link for his Obituary.  I too watched a couple of snow kiting video's on You Tube.  I can see any number of ways that you could die doing that. The kite could pull you into trees or over a cliff or something. If you went over something...I wonder if the kite could hold you.  I am sure it would slow your fall, but maybe not hold you enough.  I do not know.  I did ask April to tell Deanna that we are thinking of her and that our hearts and prayers are with her.

We had a incident in our family today.  I do not know all the details exactly but will tell you what I do know.  My bil Jerry, Suzanne's husband was snow blowing (Oh, did I mention we got around 6 inches yesterday and more today.) and I do not know how or why, since he certainly knows better, but he got his left hand into the blades.  Right now they are down to 1 car as 1 is getting fixed and Jordan takes the other to work so he could not drive to the ER.  Travis called Suz at work and somehow my sister Joanne got the call. So she went and told Suz and she said I got a ride, I cannot take him, so Joanne said I will do it.  So Jo left work and took Jerry to the ER.  Well Suz was having trouble concentrating and was teary and he boss came along and asked her what was up and she told him.  He said get your things, I will take you to the ER as you should be there with him and you should not be working while being so stressed.  So when Suz got there, Jo went back to work.  So Suz tells me his left pinky, ring and middle finger are all cut up and require stitches.  The middle finger has 3 breaks in the upper part, the ring finger has 2 breaks in the upper part and the pinky has no breaks but the skin was all hanging off and they think he will lose the tip and nail from that finger.  They gave him IV antibiotics, sewed him up and bandaged him good.  Sent him home with antibiotics, pain med and to keep arm up. Suz friend Patti, who was going to take Suz to her dental appt came and got them to take them home.  Suz got her appt changed to tomorrow and Patti will take her.
Jerry has to go see a hand specialist in Appleton on Friday.  Seems a long time to me, but the swelling has to go down before they can do anything.  Suz will have to get off work to take him, but thankfully their other car is supposed to be done tomorrow.  So we will see where this goes.  Please say a prayer for Jerry for pain free healing.
I guess you are right about having more deaths when you live in an area that is primarily older people.  We have the same issue at our church.  More and more members are dying as it is a lot of older members.  We has a huge congregation when i was a kid.  We had a whole separate building for the Sunday school.  3 floors and the rooms were packed.  My confirmation class had over 20 kids in it and that was one class.  Now they do not have that many kids in the whole system.  It is sad seeing so many people passing away.  So many people that taught me in Sunday school and pillars of the church.  Now my mom is one of the eldest.  I am afraid our churches time is limited.  Oh well.  I am feeling so melancholy.
I will talk with you tomorrow my dear sister.
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO JANUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:01/27/2016 8:33 AM)

Good Morning.

The tree trimmer came and gave me a bid for both trees (the Spruce in front, which must be done, and the Canadian Maple in back.  I had understood from Barb that the HOA was doing the trees like the Maple, but talking to this fellow, I'm not so sure and with Bill leaving that position, I decided to just go ahead and make arrangements to have it done.  They won't do it until sometime in February or maybe as late as March.  Once again, Mountain High is booked far in advance.  They are TOOO busy for every service they perform!  Must be making money hand over fist.  He did say that it was better to do the trees later when perhaps it isn't as dry.

I haven't heard from the Couch guy so I called and left a message with him.  Why is everything a fight?  (sigh).  Then my Lazy Boy recliner broke yesterday afternoon.  Aarrgghh. The leg rest won't hold. They do have lifetime repair, they provide the parts but you have to pay for the service.  Still it's worth having it fixed.  A tiny spring broke.  Mike called them and ~~~~ had to leave word there, too.  Batting 1000.

Want to take bets on whether or not Trump will take part in tomorrow night's debate on Fox??  Interesting theater. ;-)

There was nothing on last night, so we started re-watching Season One of the X-Files.   Kind of fun.  It's been decades since we've seen them.
I used to have the X-Files theme as my ringtone for my iPhone ~ lol.  Now I have the theme from Harry Potter.  Ha!  Maybe I'll go back.

Thank you for my beautiful tag.  I love it!

I hope you do hear from April.  I hate not knowing what is happening with our annnieM, and if there is some way we can help or support her.  I thought the same thing about Dave ~ that he died doing something he loved at least.   Certainly doesn't make it easier on those he left behind, and particularly our Dee.   I wonder if their son Zack will come back for the memorial or if he's still being like he has been.  Poor Zarah will be devastated, too, but she will focus on her mom, I'll bet, and in a funny way that will help her.

OMG, poor Jerry!  I'm glad he didn't lose fingers, and only a part on one maybe, but I can't even imagine the pain!  Suzanne must have been going crazy!  I'm so glad her boss is compassionate and understanding.
I hope he doesn't lose any of the use of that hand. I will surely pray for him!

Our neighborhood isn't an "Over 55 Community", but it might as well be.  Only a few are younger than that for the obvious reasons ~~ very small yards, which wouldn't be great for young families,  and all the yard work and snow shoveling, etc, done for us through our dues.  Location close to so many businesses and amenities, but far enough away to feel like a real neighborhood.

Maybe five years ago some of my old H.S. classmates got in touch with me as they were planning a reunion, and I'm now on the list for updates and all.  My classmates are dropping like flies!   Of course I realize my body is not functioning like I want it too, but in my head I'm not "Old".  Reality bites ~ lol.   I still plan to live to be 107, so I guess I'll be sending a lot of sympathy cards. ;-)
When we do finally die, our neighbors are going to be absolutely shocked to realize that we won't be having either funerals or memorial services.  Shocking!  Kind of fun to know I can still shock them at 107.

I did not hear from April today. I suppose I should  get a card off to Dee, I know I have her address somewhere. I just am really having a hard time believing this. I'll bet she is too!  God Bless our annnieM and all the family. I wondered about the son as I know he seemed to have issues with Dave. I do not want him coming around and using Dee though. He can hurt her so easily. I am sure Zarah will watch out for her.

Why are some tree's covered under your HOA and others are not? I think an area like yours would be great for a young power couple.  Work is there life, no time for much else. No children and no time to do lawn work, etc.

Jerry is doing ok, just a lot of pain. I guess he actually lost the tip of his pinky. He cannot wait till Friday.  Idiot went to work today. Now if he had hurt himself on the job and the Dr said he could work light duty, then work would have to find things for him to do. But he hurt himself at home so that was not in the cards. They told him to go home and call them after he sees the hand doctor. So we will see where that leads.

That is weird about the couch guy. What happened to probably less than a week?  And now it is over the "no more than 2 weeks"? I hope you hear from him quickly.

I would like not to have a funeral or wake, but they say that those are for the ones you leave behind. I want to be cremated. I hate the whole "line up to tell people you do not know how sorry you are and then stand and stare at the corpse". I hate it. And the cost involved is stupid. But they can have a party and celebrate life!

I do notice that I recognize more names in the obits the older I get!

Well, hump day is over..onward to the weekend.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO JANUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:01/28/2016 9:45 AM)

How are you today?

I'm starting off in a bad mood.  I woke up at 5 and read until nearly 7, then got on email and saw that my email has been hacked and "I" sent out bogus crap to all sorts of people in my address book and people I've never heard of before as well.  So infuriating.  I swear, I have the most complicated email password known to man, and still these monsters figure out a way to get in.   So I sent out "Don't open it" messages and recommended that everyone block the email return address, which was not mine, though the monster had put my name on it as if it were.

If you get suspicious mail, check to see if the email address matches the address of the person who supposedly sent it to you, and if it does not, block it.

I hope this doesn't set the tone for my whole day! Grrrr.

The couch guy and the Lazy Boy folks have not called us back yet.  Sigh.   We did go to the Bonefish for dinner last night, but the food isn't as good as it used to be.  Not bad, just not exceptional ~~ except for the chocolate cream brulee dessert! Too bad.  It really used to be great.

Last night was our annual HOA meeting and we did not attend.  Again. We did give our proxy to a neighbor to vote for us, so we attended in spirit ~ or at least we didn't prevent them from having a quorum.   The HOA rents the Methodist Church conference room.  The church is next to our community so walking distance for those who can, and has a good parking lot for those who can't.  Unfortunately, it's a serious walk from the entrance to the meeting room.  Mike had trouble with it before and would have more now, and now I would have a lot of trouble too.  It might have been fun.  I think they are replacing the entire board, or at least all of the officers.  It might have been interesting.

It appears that Trump won't be attending the Fox Debate tonight.  He may be planning a Wounded Wariors fundraiser at the same time, which will be broadcast by CNN.   Apparently no one is supposed to watch the Fox Debate since he won't be there, and CNN will scoop up all the ratings that Fox will miss out on.   Actually, his not being there will give me more reason to want to watch. Without him there to suck all the air out of the room I might get to learn more about the other candidates.   I support the Wounded Warrior project and I don't have to allow someone else tell me what I can and cannot watch, I will record it to watch later.  So there!

But enough about Me!

Poor Jerry.  I can't imagine how much pain he is in.  Isn't he a teacher? Or did I get that wrong?  I would think a teacher could teach with a bad hand.

One of our former members in the other group posted in the TnT Facebook group that her dad passed away yesterday.  So many deaths, and so much sadness.  Hard to handle.  Then another member and dear friend had spinal surgery on the 24th which appeared to be successful.  She had been doubled to nearly a 90 degree angle, and when she called me she was standing up straight!  Then the next day she called and said she just learned that the fusion or whatever you call it was separating and they had to go back in and reinforce it!   She has been through so many surgeries for various things, and almost every time there are complications.  She sounded so scared.  She is always so upbeat and positive in spite of all she has been through that to hear her near tears was shattering.  The second surgery was on Wednesday and I hate to call too soon, but hate not to know as well.

Sorry to go on.  It just seems like there is so much sadness and tragedy now.  I need to count and recount my own blessings.  Enuf!

I do hope you hear from April or we can somehow get more information.  Like you, I am so worried about her.

On to happier thoughts.   (Where are they?  ha).  I just finished a book by a new to me author whose protagonist is addicted to chocolate and has a psychic Siamese cat.  What's not to like.  Ha.

Have a happy day, dear friend and sweet sister!

RE:WELCOME TO JANUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:01/28/2016 11:04 PM)

We have a winter storm coming again but not exactly sure

when, getting conflicting reports on that.  But at least the

weekend is supposed to be 38 so hopefully some of the

build up will melt.  It did melt some the beginning of the

week but then in snowed 2x since.  Welcome to the

wonderful world of Winter!

I have not even read my email yet, so if I see something

from you I will bounce it to sender, since the return addy

is not yours, lol.  That'll fix them!  How dare they start

your day off bad!!  I certainly hope you hear from the lazy

boy and couch guys.  What are they waiting for?  Maybe I

should not ask.  I hope all went your way at the HOA.

When does the board change?

The Donald....what can you say?  That he's acting like a

spoiled petulant child....nah....that's not it.  Like someone

who is learning they do not always get their way....yes, but

is he doing it in a dignified way....hell no.  He is the Donald.

I am tired of his antics and his rudeness and his meanness.

I have been tired of him for years and then he runs for

president.  He is an egomaniac.  Ok, done ranting.

Suz and Jerry did not get their car back yet, so one of

Jerry's sisters is driving them.  So keep the prayers

coming, they are greatly appreciated.  Jerry is a custodian

for the Fond du Lac School System.  My sister Diane is the
teacher!  Same employer, different jobs.  Jerry works for

a grade school and Diane teaches high school.

I love the character in your book, who does not like

chocolate and a psychic siamese is fabulous, lol.  I want

one, lol.  Was the book good?

Nothing much going on here with mom and I.  Chris did our

laundry the other day so that is going well.  Mom was not

happy that she left the 2nd load in the dryer overnight.

She thinks everything will be wrinkled.  Sometimes it is.

But this time things were a bit damp so she had to run the

drier a bit and everything was fine...this time.  Whenever

she says she will do something after supper you can count

on it not happening because she will have been drinking.

La dee da!

Ok, I need to go read that email now.  Chat with you

tomorrow Dorothy Dearest!!

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO JANUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:01/28/2016 11:57 PM)

Hi.
Posting tonight because Shauna comes tomorrow morning.

LazyBoy did call and we made an appointment for Feb 12th to have the chair fixed here at the house.  The part is free, but the trip charge and labor and is $80.   Between now and then, we are planning to visit the Lazy Boy store and see about maybe getting new chairs.   The ones we have in the Morning room (where the broken one lives) are 10 and 8 years old and beginning to show their age.  We've already had them repaired once, so it might be as well to just replace them if we can find some that would work.  We'll see.

The couch is here!   I need to get a better picture, it really looks so much better than this picture shows and it also looks better without the arm covers on.  I didn't realize that until after I took them off later.

I'll try to get a better picture later.  Actually, the old (original) couch was much prettier 'in person' than in a picture too.
I was afraid it was going to be too wild, after the teal couch it used to be, but we really like it.  The rest of the room is all beige and brown with accent touches of teal and some green.  It can use a pop of color.    Ok, it is a BIT wild.  lol
Shogun loves having his couch back.  Curled up in the corner and went right to sleep.  Oh ~ we did get his claws cut, so maybe having a Mani-Pedi wore him out, too. LOL

I accomplished very little else ~ folded laundry and waited for the couch guys to get here and not much more, but waiting tires me.  I fell asleep during the very end of the Debate!  I think I recorded it, so I can see what I missed, maybe.  The early debate was really good, and the later one would have been too if the Moderators didn't believe that Debate means encouraging personal fights between debaters.  I'm glad I watched because I did get to see more than if Trump had been there, but I think I'm going to boycott all of the debates except those held by Fox Business News where the Moderators "get" what debating should be about ~~ and the early Debates on Fox, if they still have them after Iowa.

Mike made Tacos for dinner.  They were about 90 proof, I think.  He combined the meat, onions, tomatoes, chili, etc in the crock pot (we'll be having them again!) and over time added Harvey's Bristol Cream Sherry, some Secret Ingredient (Grand Marnier) and three quarters of a bottle of Porter.   I may not have fallen asleep during the debate ~ I may have passed out!  lol   However ~he filed the shells with the meat mixture and topped it with lettuce, cheese, black olives and sour cream and they were delicious.  (Hic)

Ah, I knew Suz and Jerry worked in the school system ~ I'm not sure I ever knew exactly what they did, so I just assumed "teachers".  I can see why he can't work with his hand!   Poor guy.  I do hope it heals well and quickly ~ and without too much more medical intervention needed.

I'd be concerned about leaving clothes in the dryer overnight too ~ I'm glad it worked out ok ~ this time.

I did enjoy that book ~ not great "literature" or anything, but I think I will buy the next one just to have on my Kindle for when I wake up in the wee hours of the morning and don't want to go into the other room to read.
Here is the author's page on Amazon.  The one I read was the first in the series "Death by Chocolate"  (99 cents, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. )

Have a great day!

Good Morning.  Welcome to Saturday.

Last night was my third night of little sleep, and the worst one yet.  Benedryl tonight, for sure!   In the mean time, don't get too close to me.  I might bite.

Shauna left the house looking lovely, and she really liked the "new" couch, too.  She thanked me several times for putting her in touch with Annette and Dee.  She has cleaned for Annette once, and will clean for Dee this Thursday.  As long as she doesn't get too busy to take care of us!  ;-)  I think they are both going to only have her about once a month.  Sue and John have here every three weeks.  I guess we're the only dirty ones.  ;-)

BIG snowstorm predicted starting tomorrow, maybe 8 - 14 inches, though I doubt it.  It's been in the 60s ~ like I said, never boring.  We could really get dumped on ~ or, not.

I still don't know who is on the new HOA Board and who holds offices, but our across the street neighbor sent out an email telling us how the lawn/snow company was planning to work the snow removal, starting when the total reaches an inch to an inch an a half even if it's still snowing (which I'm sure it will be).  Big improvement from the last two snows, when nobody came until either late afternoon or the next day, and we didn't have a clue what was happening.   It didn't really effect Mike and me, but others had to get to work and it was a real problem for them.

Oh my sweet friend, I have been there and done that and I know how you feel.  I'm so sorry.  Hopefully today will be a better day.

Mike just served me Breakfast in Bed ~ Delicious coffee and Chocolate croissants.  Maybe this won't be such a tough day after all.

HOPEFULLY, THERE WILL BE
NO BRAIN FARTS THAT LEAD TO MY FINGERS DOING CRIMINAL ACTS ON MY BEAUTIFUL POSTS TONIGHT!!
I TOTALLY LOVE YOUR COUCH.  I LOVE IT A LOT.  I CAN SEE SOME LOVELY SOLID PILLOWS BEHIND THE PATTERNED ONES TO SET IT OFF.  I THINK TAN WOULD DO THAT BEST, BUT TEAL IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE COLORS SO I WOULD PROBABLY OPT FOR THAT, LOL.

JERRY'S APPT WENT WELL AND THE DR. FIXED EVERYTHING UP AND HE DOES NOT THINK JERRY WILL LOSE THE TIP OF HIS PINKY.  SO ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL.

STILL NO WORD FROM APRIL.  I AM WONDERING IF SHE HAS SEEN MY MESSAGE.  I CANNOT WRITE ON HER WALL SINCE I AM NOT A FRIEND.  I DID WRITE ON DEANNA'S AND SAW YOU HAD TOO.  I MENTIONED MY MESSAGE TO APRIL SO MAYBE SHE WILL HEAR ABOUT IT.

I DID BUY THAT BOOK TO READ, SO WE WILL SEE HOW I LIKE IT.  AS SOON AS I FIND TIME TO READ.  I ALWAYS GO IN STREAKS AND I AM IN A NON READING ONE RIGHT NOW.

SUZ DOES NOT WORK AT THE SCHOOL.  SHE WORKS AT A FACTORY AND JERRY WORKS AS A CUSTODIAN AT THE SCHOOL.  IT IS MY SISTER DIANE THAT TEACHES..SHE IS THE OTHER UNMARRIED SISTER.  SHE IS BABYSITTING 2 DOGS FOR A MONTH AND THEY ARE TURNING OUT TO BE QUITE THE HANDFUL.  HERE IS A PIC.

THEY LOOK RATHER SMALL HERE BUT THEY ARE MEDIUM SIZED DOGS.  THEY ARE RESCUES AND BOTH PART SHIH TZU WHICH SURPRISED ME SIZE WISE.  THE ONE ON THE LEFT I MARLEY AND HE IS DIABETIC AND DIANE GIVES HIM A SHOT OF INSULIN EVERY DAY. HE APPEARS TO BE PART SPANIEL OF SOME SORT.  THE ONE ON THE RIGHT IS MURPHY AND HE IS PART POODLE.  HE ESPECIALLY IS BIGGER THAN HE LOOKS.  BOTH ARE VERY FOOD DRIVEN AND NOT AT ALL POLITE ABOUT IT.  THEY PRACTICALLY BITE YOUR HAND OFF WHEN YOU GIVE THEM A TREAT.  THEY PRACTICALLY ATTACK YOU.  THEY DO NOT SIT OR DOWN ON COMMAND.  MOM AND I SAT FOR THEM FOR A LITTLE WHILE TODAY AS DIANE BROUGHT THEM OVER FOR A VISIT AND THEN DECIDED TO RUN SOME ERRANDS.  THEY LOVE CHASING A BALL BUT THEY DO NOT BRING IT BACK.  TWO GOOD COMMENTS ARE THAT THEY LOVE BEING PETTED AND WHEN THEY BARK AND YOU REPRIMAND THEM THEY DO STOP.  NO ONE EVER WORKS WITH THEM.  THE FAMILY GOES TO FLORIDA FOR A MONTH IN WINTER AND DO NOT TAKE THEIR DOGS.  I THINK THAT SUCKS.  DIANE SAID, WELL IT IS A VACATION AND I SAID I WOULD NOT WILLINGLY BE AWAY FROM MY PETS FOR A MONTH.  THEY ARE GOOD PEOPLE, BUT PETS ARE NOT THEIR CHILDREN, THEY ARE JUST PETS.  I HOPE SHE WILL BRING THEM AROUND AGAIN.  WE BOTH ENJOYED HAVING THEM.

WELL, THAT'S IT FOR ME TONIGHT.  CHAT WITH YOU TOMORROW.
HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY.
HUGS,

I HAVE TO EXPLAIN THAT SOMEHOW, AFTER I MADE MY TAG BUT BEFORE I MADE ALL THE OTHERS, A SETTING IN MY PNG OPTIMIZER GOT CHANGED.  SO ALL THE TAGS I MADE AFTER MINE SAVED TRANSPARENT, BUT ONCE SAVED AND GONE BACK TO, THEY HAD CHANGED TO BLACK BACKGROUNDS.  NOTHING I CAN DO TO FIX IT AS MY BLANK TURNED BLACK TOO.  SO YOURS HAS A BLACK BACKGROUND.  STILL PRETTY I THINK

RE:WELCOME TO JANUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:01/31/2016 10:10 AM)

And a snowy good morning to you!

Yesterday it was 65 degrees here.  Then it started to snow around 8 PM and by the time we headed for the bedroom around 10, it looked like we had maybe an inch and a half.  This morning it doesn't look like a whole lot more, but by Tuesday when this storm is over we could get between 10 and 14 inches.
Looks like a nice time to stay warm and toasty inside in front of a fire with a good book.    Mike is going to make 'his' split pea soup again today ~ yay!   He went to the store yesterday morning and loaded up for the "blizzard" (laugh).  We don't have a ham bone, but he got a smoked pork chop and will try that.  The only down side to his making the soup is that the last time I cut veggies for him, and apparently he expects me to do it again this time!  Well, harruumph.  (ha!)  I guess it's a small price to pay if it's as good as last time.  ;-)

We got a call from our across the street neighbor, Steve, who is apparently going to be replacing Bill as the go-to guy for the HOA.  Sort of.  He was looking over a contract they got from Mountain High to trim trees in our 'hood', and one of them was our Spruce in front ~ the one I just accepted a bid to trim. They had walked the neighborhood with Bill a while back and marked several trees for trimming.  He wanted to be sure we were ok with them trimming it.  Definitely bodes well that they are asking us instead of just doing it.   Mike told him that we had gotten a bid ourselves and planned to have that done, but if the HOA wanted to pay to do it for us, that was fine with us!  (Smile!)  I will call and cancel our 'contract' on Monday.  They aren't planning to do anything with the Canadian Maple in back, but the guy I talked to apparently didn't feel it needed the kind of trimming I think it does, and he's the expert.  I agreed to have it trimmed to encourage good growth only because it was cheaper to have them do the two trees at one time than having them do them separately, so I will just wait and see with the tree in back.  Sooo, the Spruce will be trimmed and we will keep more money in our own pockets.  Can't complain about that!

Watching the news and I'm feeling near complete despair.  It appears it will be Trump vs Hillary, or if not Hillary, the Socialist or the Nanny State Guy (Bloomberg). I have thought that we had an 'embarrassment of riches' with the candidates on the Right this time, but "my fellow Americans" who aren't Leftist see Trump as their savior.   I fear my country is gone forever, and that funny sound you heard was the sound of my heart, breaking.

On a much happier note, I am sooo glad that Jerry is doing so well.  I'm sure he is still in pain and it will be a while before everything feels 'normal', but what wonderful news that he didn't do permanent damage.

Typical of my own Brain Pharts, I read what you clearly wrote as Diane is the teacher (which I did know) as Suzanne is (also) a teacher.  I guess my mind was focused on Suz and what I thought, and you know that old saying "A woman convinced against her will is of the same opinion still".  LOL   Now I think I've got it.  Ha!

I'm not surprised you haven't heard from April yet. With all that is going on, Facebook may be at the bottom of her list of concerns.
You know I have that floral service that lets me send things without having to pay for the shipping and handling, and I used that to send flowers to the funeral for Mike and I, since we had met them in person when they stayed in our area a few years ago.  I haven't been able to reach or talk to Dee for ages and I thought a nice small basket of flowers would be like giving her a quick hug at the funeral.  Well ~ not so much.  I didn't get word from the service that the flowers had been delivered so I emailed, and got an email back that "there were no florist in the area so the flowers hadn't been sent."  They will refund my money and give me a $20 credit for my next purchase. What a lot of hooey ~ and as you can imagine, I was furious.  I wrote a scathing email back letting them know that of course there were florists in Sturgis, but I could understand if none were affiliated with them.  I could NOT understand why they didn't let me know so I could send flowers through another source.  I won't drop their service until I can get my $20 (ring it from their scrawny necks!) but I won't renew my contract.   Over the years I have saved a lot of money, but this isn't the first time I've had something like this happen.  It will be the last.

Soooo, now I don't know what to do.  We can send a card and I would assume it would get to her.  I thought of sending flowers to the house (using their $20), but I don't know that she will be in the house, or if she is if her care giver will be there to accept them when they are delivered or . . . .   Well, you know my frustration well, I'm sure.  I just wish so much that she could know how much we care and want to be there for her.

I did enjoy that book and in fact I am reading the next one in the series now!  I don't usually love the "funny" mysteries, but her smart mouth has made me laugh right out loud more than once.    With my sleeping problems I like having something on the Kindle to read in the middle of the night so I don't have to get up or wake Mike.  Otherwise, as you know, I've gone from reading 3-4 books a week in the "olden" days, to maybe one a month.

Oh, look at those sweet babies ~~ or I'll bet they would be sweet if they got more attention from their owners.  I hope you get to visit with them and pile some lovin' on them again.

That really is funny about the transparent background becoming a black background!  I've had that happen when I try to put something with a transparent back in an email, but not when I was actually working in PSP ~~~ though it's been so long I'm not sure I'd remember.   In any case, I think mine is beautiful and I love it!   Thank you so much!

Have a swell Sunday!

Oooh, Mike just brought me a cup of coffee and a chocolate croissant!  He's a god!

RE:WELCOME TO JANUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:01/31/2016 7:32 PM)

HAPPY SUNDAY.  NOT THAT IT'S REALLY ANY DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER DAY.  IT IS RAINING HERE TODAY.  AFTER HAVING A COUPLE DAYS THAT ACTUALLY HIT IN THE 40'S AND BRIGHT SUNSHINE AND NOW RAIN.  AND SUPPOSEDLY A BIG SNOWSTORM COMING.  WELL, AT LEAST THE RAIN WILL MELT A LOT OF THE BUILT UP SNOW BEFORE THE STORM COMES.

YOU HAD BETTER TREAT MIKE RIGHT.  NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE HAVE THEIR OWN PERSONAL CHEF.  LOL  HE CERTAINLY IS A KEEPER.  BEING ABLE TO COOK IS VERY ATTRACTIVE IN A MAN IN MY OPINION.  ESPECIALLY SINCE I CAN'T!

HEY, HOW ABOUT THAT....SOMETHING GOOD HAPPENS OUT OF NOWHERE.  YOUR TREE TRIMMING IS PART OF THE HOA.  I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MAD HAD I FOUND THAT OUT AFTER I HAD PAID TO HAVE IT DONE.  SO GLAD YOU FOUND OUT IN TIME.  GOD IS GOOD.

YOUR TALKING OVER MY HEAD WITH POLITICS.  SOCIALIST OR NANNY STATE??  WHAT OR WHO DOES THAT MEAN?  I THINK IT IS A SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS WHEN IT COMES TO TRUMP RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT.  I FEAR FOR OUR FUTURE.  ACTUALLY, I FEEL THAT WAY NOT MATTER WHO BECOMES PRESIDENT.  I THINK WE NEED A CROSS BETWEEN A DIPLOMAT AND A SERVICE MAN.  I AM SORRY TO SAY THAT I WANT A PRESIDENT WHO IS NOT AFRAID TO RECIPROCATE IN KIND.  I AM SICK OF PUSSY FOOTIN AROUND.  THAT IS WHAT HALF OF ME THINKS, THE OTHER HALF IS A PACIFIST.  I AM WISHY WASHY.

THAT REALLY SUCKS WHAT THAT FLORIST COMPANY DID TO YOU.  I CANNOT AFFORD SENDING FLOWERS.  I MET DEE ONCE TOO.  WE ALL SPENT A LOVELY 6 HRS TOGETHER AT A RESTAURANT IN MADISON.  KATHY, BARB, ME, DEE AND DAVE.  THE TIME WENT SO FAST.  I LOST MY PICTURES FROM THEN.  THOUGH MAYBE I HAVE THEM ON THE COMPUTER IN THE BACK ROOM.  WHO KNOWS.  I PRAY SHE IS DOING OK.  STILL NO WORD FROM APRIL.  TIME WILL TELL I GUESS.

WE ARE WATCHING "GREASE LIVE" BUT I AM NOT LOVING IT.  IF I HAD NEVER SEEN THE MOVIE, I AM SURE I WOULD BUT THEY ARE LEAVING SOME FAVORITE SONGS OUT AND ADDING OTHERS.  I KNOW THAT IS THE WAY OF THINGS.  NOT REALLY LIKING TH "PLAY" FORMAT EITHER.  I LOVE THE MOVIE TOO MUCH.  THE SINGING HAS BEEN EXCELLENT.  BUT NO ONE CAN DO WHAT OLIVIA AND JOHN DID WITH THE MOVIE.

GOING TO SAY GOOD NIGHT.  I HAVE A GROUP TO DECORATE.

HUGS,

Border by Barb
