RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/11/2017 12:31 AM)

I knew I left something out of the last note. I said a prayer for Jack as I read about him being in the hospital. I had a feeling all would be well and am happy to hear that it's true. I sure wish he would not have to go through these bouts of pneumonia.  Poor thing, it is horrible to not be able to breathe or to catch your breath. I recall one time when I lived on the 2nd floor here that by the time I got to the top of my steps and in my apt I felt as if I was choking.  I was ripping at my coat and collar and actually tore it trying to get it away from my neck so I could breath.  Turned out I had pneumonia.  It sucks so I really feel for Jack.

It is the funniest thing. I keep smelling a hot berry smell, like you get when you make jam or bake pie. Oh Lord I want some cherry pie.  OMG, I forgot, I has mac and cheese for supper tonight. I love it!  Next time I will know to cook it a little longer as it had some cold spots in it, but it was delicious.  It was just the right texture and consistency for mac n cheese. I do not like it runny. Now I should tell you something that will sound wrong but until you taste it you just do not know. Louann and Bruce make a baked mac n cheese that they put sausages into for cooking and when they serve it they put maple syrup on it. Not to me that sounded gross. The sausage was great but I could not see using the syrup. Then I tried it and it was delicious.  I could not believe it. Just try it on a bit or two, lol.

Is that the same daughter that was sick last time Shauna was to clean.  I would begin to be a bit worried about what might be going on with her. But there is so much stuff going round. The influenza A, and the stomach flu, and all the different kinds of cold there are not to mention bronchitis and pneumonia.  Kids are germ magnets.  I hope she will be alright.

Well, it is time to say good night.

Chat with you tomorrow.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/11/2017 11:34 AM)

Good Morning.

Yesterday in Colorado ~~~

Today, the high 50s, rain in the afternoon  and SNOW overnight, they say!

Shauna came a bit later yesterday morning and by the time she left a little after 2, Shogun and I were exhausted.  We both fell asleep not long after.

Thank you for your prayers for Jack.  It is worrisome that he has had two bouts with this.  Fortunately this one didn't last as long and he is doing much better at home now.   I just hate to think that he may be susceptible to this.  Hopefully he will outgrow it.

I'm so glad you liked the mac 'n cheese!   I really love it, but you know we all have different tastes.   I'm just delighted that you like it.   I know that seems like a very strange thing to send someone ~ until they try and hopefully like it.  My thought was more that it is nourishing and filling and my friend Lou Ann won't starve.  lol   It's always good to have something frozen on hand.

You're right, Louann and Bruce's mac and cheese doesn't sound very good to me ~~ but I know that often things that don't sound good really are surprisingly good.  I will tell Mike about it ~ but I won't do that with Grandma's Mac and Cheese!  It's too good on it's own!  ;-)

No, yesterday it was Shauna's older daughter who was sick.  Last time it was her younger daughter.  Both girls have seizures, it runs in the family.  Her older daughter seems to have had less trouble with them lately, but recently they changed her meds.  She has to go for a shot every three months, but because of scheduling conflicts they were over a week late getting her shot.  Shauna didn't realize it was so time sensitive but apparently the half life doesn't extend beyond the exact time.  The poor kid was throwing up and in tears.  It just kills Shauna, and of course she felt it was all her fault.  She was in tears too.

This daughter is a Senior in H.S. but is taking four days of college courses.  All her kids are over achievers, as is Shauna herself, and I think that probably adds to the stress they get under and I wonder if it doesn't add to their health problems.   I know Shauna is torn between wanting to help them be all they can be, and fearing that they put too much on themselves.

She's Hispanic and she grew up in a poorer area of Denver and saw so many end up in jail or worse.  Only through her own work ethic was she able to raise herself out of the situation.  She loves her parents to pieces, but they didn't do anything to help her achieve and avoid the problems she saw all around her, and she is doing all she can to help her kids realize their potentials ~~~ and all the kids she coaches too.

She's really inspirational, and I intend to do what I can to help the kids she coaches too.  Many parents can't or won't be involved, and the kids have no one to tell them they are special and can do anything they set their minds to but Shauna.    Her girls also work with the kids and inspire them ~~~~ but, and I know you are already thinking this ~~~ they put themselves under too much pressure.  They're going to have to find a balance.

I'm truly in awe of Shauna;   I know she is "just" a house cleaner, but she is so much more.  She could be CEO of a company if her focus was on herself instead of on others.  She's an inspiration.

Have a truly happy day!

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/11/2017 11:06 PM)

I slept fairly well last night and I woke up to Suz in my bedroom this morn. just after 9.  I asked her how she got in and she said from the key in the front closet.  That means she had to move my WC to get it, lol.  She had to work for it.  She was there to get moms banking and my grocery list and check.  I had told her it made more sense to do mine and John's shopping all at once instead of 3 shopping trips.  Last week they did not do my shopping till Sunday night and I did not like that one bit.  I got up and went about my business and before you know it they were back with the groceries.  So then Mom's bank statement came today so I was going to balance her checkbook and work on this weeks challenges and I have done neither.  Or the monthly challenge or a new challenge from a friend.  But all I did all day long was fall asleep.  I seem to have a bit of a cold or sinus issue that is making me somewhat miserable.  I will probably sleep on and off for a couple days.

I just found a message on the phone from a couple hours ago from Louann saying she saw Suz, ladalada and see you Mon.  I had not clue what Mon was and I called and no one was hom.  Now I just got a text from Nan saying Reign on Mon, so now I know.  Just hope this cold/nasal congestion ends by then.

I am having the rest of the mac and cheese tonight :)  Was planning pizza for tomorrow but Nan said pizza on Mon. So guess it will be a lean cuisine. or maybe taco salad.

I think Shauna is driven by the childhood and upbringing she had and wanting more for her children.  But at the same time she sees the same in all children so she helps all she can the best that she can.  Just so she does not neglect herself or her own in trying to help others. I do not think she will.  I am sure she spreads herself thin, and I pray she gets some assistance in her cheer leading efforts. Even if other parents cannot help with money they could pitch in with time and fundraising.  You would even think the school could help out a little. There has to be some help somewhere.  Selling candy bars is always a good fund raiser.  People are more likely to spend a buck or two than buy costlier items.

I have to go, I keep falling asleep.

Hugs,

annnieM

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/12/2017 11:10 AM)

Good Morning

That has to have been a start, waking with Suz in your bedroom!  I'm glad they are shopping for you and making sure you are ok.

I think letting yourself sleep a lot is a good thing for you right now.  You have been both emotionally and physically exhausted.   I hope a cold or something didn't sneak in when you weren't looking, and that you will be able to go and see Reign with your friends.

Shauna has a group of coaches organized, including her daughters, and they keep the organization running, and I suspect running well.  They do fund raisers ~ they had a car wash, and she made those wonderful cheese cakes and sold them, and they do other things too.  She really amazes me.  She was one of the coaches at the old school, but now she has organized everything from the floor up at this school herself, and it seems to be running well.

Some parents can't afford to participate or buy the uniforms, or for the boys the equipment ~ my gosh is that equipment expensive!  If a parent has several kids, it would be hard for anyone.  Then there is the "banquet", and they make all sorts of prizes as well as buy them.   We order a lot of food and give her the coolers, and she and the girls paint them in team colors and give them as little prizes, or to parents who need something to bring food or drinks in.  Talk about a win-win.  we don't have to think of our coolers ending up at the land fill, and she gets real use out of them.   We used to give them to Marcella as well, and she and her friends could use them, but not as effectively as Shauna.

In addition to needing money for kids whose parents don't have it, sometimes a kid will be left after practice, and when she calls the parents they say, 'Oh, we're on the way.  You can go ahead and well be there to pick them up'.  As if she could drive off and leave a kid alone on the field after dark.

Anyway, she is a wonder and I am not.  lol

Have a great day.

So here we are, ready to start a brand new week.  I have to admit that as a retiree, about the only difference between the Weekend and Monday is what's on TV.  Ha.

It looks to be a fairly nice day today, with a high in the low 50s.  Can't complain about that.

Aimoo hates me, and right now the feeling is mutual.
Have a happy day!

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/14/2017 4:01 AM)

Whatever this sinus thing I've got going it sure has taken the life out of me. I just sleep so much and have little to no interest in doing much else. I spent all day today trying to make tags for my challenges. I got one done. So now I will have to spend all day tomorrow trying to do the other one.
It's Valentine's Day and I have nothing for my mom. Not that we usually do
it but sometimes and I am sure my other sisters will all be taking things over to her. Sadly she is back to being very confused. It has us all worried. We are asking for a psych eval to see if they can figure out what is going on. One day she is fine and the next she is off the wall. At least now, another sister was told to Shut Up! Joanne this time. Mom wanted her to tell Suz to come by and get the grocery list. Joanne tried to tell her she needn't worry about that but she persisted and that is when she told Joanne to shut up. Suz stopped in and got no where with mom either. I said just go along with her and let her make a list. Just appease her. She is even getting belligerent with the staff and therapist. She is not the mother we know. We are all really worried about this and really, I worry that the rehab takes things too slow.
I did not go to Fauska's for Reign and I have already caught up to what they watched.  When we finish season 2 we will have to wait for season 3 to start on TV, They are already playing with history because King Francis of France was supposed to die of an ear infection, but he just survived it. Today we would never think of an ear infection taking someones life unless you were in a 3rd world country. This was the King of France.
I got hooked on another show called the Magicians.  It is on the SciFi channel. I watched season 1 on TV and damned if Season 2 has started already and I missed the first 2 shows.  It is on Wed so I will have to watch it then. I am so mad I missed the first 2 episodes.  It is hard to explain it is sort of a Harry Potter meets Horror Films. Very violent, sexual and fascinating.  I am quite hooked.
When you are talking about Shauna and boys equipment are you talking boy cheerleaders or boys sports? The school does not by the boys equipment? I never thought to ask my sister. I know he gets his own cleats and I guess they buy their own uniforms, but what about the shoulder pads, etc. I did not realize they had to buy it all. Jeeze, Jason has like 3 different uniform color combinations. Wish I could ship my coolers your way. I get them with both my insulins and with some other thinks here.  Josh was going to take them for fishing but never did. Finally got them into recycling here and there. Well,
I need to go to bed or to chair, however you want to say it.
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/14/2017 12:30 PM)

I had another rather poor night's sleep, and then fell fast asleep around 6 AM, when I should have been thinking of getting up.   Well, grumble.

It's Valentine's Day, and love is in the air.  ;-)
I made a card for Mike and got him a red Tommy Bahama shirt, which he likes very much, I think.  I had also pre-wrapped a gift box that could be used over and over ~ but he charged in like a wounded moose and ripped the paper off!   I'm still shocked, and he felt bad as soon as he realized.   He should.  smiley83
He ordered my Valentine but it has apparently been delayed, so it won't get here until Thursday.   I guess that means that we have to celebrate Valentine's Day for three days.

smiley80
I'm sorry you are still feeling bad, but I'm glad that you were able to watch Reign anyway, and even find another show you like to watch.

Of course I can't know what is going on with your mom, but sometimes that kind of confusion has to do with the meds she is being given.   I do think sometimes they give patients things to make them quiet and more manageable, or maybe it is something else altogether.   For the confusion to have come on so quickly, you have to wonder if the cause isn't something like that, and can be corrected with a little adjustment.  I hope that's it, and she will become herself again soon.

The cheerleaders do have to buy their own costumes, and what I understood was that the boys bought their own equipment.  I could be wrong, but she mentioned amounts in the hundreds that were really hard for some of the kid's parents to come up with, particularly when they had several boys.   I'm not sure.

Thank you for the lovely Valentine!

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/15/2017 3:05 PM)

Good Afternoon!

I had a haircut scheduled for this morning, but yesterday afternoon Laurie called and said that she had moved, and give me the new address.   Her old shop was 4 minutes from our house..    This one is 15 minutes away.   Probably not a problem if the weather is good, but if we get a few pounds of snow, it could be.   It's in an old building like her other shop, but they have a rail by the four stairs leading to the entry door, so I'm ok for getting in.  I really like the way she cuts my hair, but we both really loved her old location.   We'll have to see ~ I did go ahead and make an appointment for 5 weeks, but if it snows . . . .

Afterwards we went out for breakfast, and then Mike stopped for a few groceries, and now here I am

Speaking of good movies ~~ weren't we? ~~ lately in the morning Turner Classic Movies has been showing an old musical about the time I wake up.  I used to grab my Laptop the first thing and after I read a few news stories or watched the news I was in a nice BAD mood for the day.   Now I watch my old musical, when it is on, and it makes quite a difference in my attitude.   Today's was "Gentlemen Prefer Blonds" with Marilyn Monroe wnd Jane Russel.   Fun.    We watched Dr Zhivago the other afternoon, too!

Hope you're having a good day.

(Date Posted:02/16/2017 1:04 AM)

I AM SORRY I MISSED HERE LAST NIGHT.  I WAS NOT FEELING WELL AND THEN JOSH CALLED AND WANTED TO KNOW IF I COULD WATCH MAXIE TODAY.  I TOLD HIM I DID NOT FEEL WELL AND HAD A SINUS INFECTION.  SEE IF HE COULD FIND SOMEONE ELSE. HE SAID HE COULD NOT FIND SOMEONE ELSE AS THEIR SITTER GOT A FULL TIME JOB.  I WANTED TO SAY YOU KNEW THAT 3 WEEKS AGO BUT I DID NOT.  I SAID I SUPPOSE. HE WROTE THANK YOU I LOVE YOU AND I ANSWERED SURE YOU DO.  HAPPY VALENTINES DAY.  HE WROTE BACK I DO. SO I WROTE I DO TOO.  BUT HE NEVER SAID HVD TO ME.  THEN MAXIE DID NOT BRING A LUNCH TODAY, WHICH SHE HAS ALWAYS BROUGHT A LUNCHABLE BEFORE.AND NO SUBSTANTIAL SNACKS,  SHE IS A LITTLE BOTTOMLESS PIT.  FOR LUNCH SHE ATE A BALL PARK FRANK 100% BEEF...THE BIG ONES, PRETZLES, POTATO CHIPS.  3 RADISHES, 2 BIG CUCUMBER SLICES, A YOGURT AND A PEACH FRUIT CUP.  I DO NOT EAT THAT MUCH.THAT WAS ONE BREAKFAST AND ONE LUNCH FOR ME AND i AM RUNNING SHORT THIS MONTH.  I AM PAYING FOR MY OWN GROCERIES  SOME TIME AGO WHEN MANY OF MY BILLS CLIMBED MOM DROPPED MY GROCERY SHARE TO $150 AND WHEN THEY SAY 2 CAN EAT AT CHEAPLY AS ONE IT IS ALMOST TRUE AND I AM RUNNING SHORT THIS MONTH.  WHY SHOULD I DO FOR FREE WHAT THEIR SITTER GOT PAIN FOR..
YOU SURE ARE NOT HAVING A LOT OF LUCK WITH HAIR DRESSERS OF LATE. NO, 15 MIN WOULD NOT BE TOO BAD.  STILL AS YOU SAY, WHEN IT SNOWS....
I AM LUCKY MY BEAUTICIAN WILL COME TO ME.  MY HAIR HAS GOTTEN REALLY LONG AND I THINK IT MAY BE COMING OFF BEFORE SPRING.  NOT SURE I CAN STAND IT MUCH LONGER.  BUT THE FRONT BANGS AREA IS SO THIN. WHY CAN IT NOT BE THIN IN THE BACK WHERE IS IS EASILY COVERED UP.
MY MOM IS REALLY NOT DOING WELL.  SHE ENDED UP IN THE ER TODAY.  SHE WAS ASLEEP IN HER RECLINER AND WOKE UP AND THOUGHT SHE COULD TRANSFER HERSELF.  SHE FELL INTO HER WC AND RIPPED UP HER LEG. SHE ENDED UP WITH LOTS OF STERI-STRIPS AND STITCHES...NOT SURE HOW MANY.  SHE IS SO CONFUSED AND ARGUMENTATIVE ALL THE TIME WE JUST HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IS GOING ON.  IS IT MEDS, IS IT PHYSICAL, MENTAL, DIANE IS SUPPOSED TO BE ESCALATING GETTING THE FULL PSYCH EVAL.
YOUR VALENTINE CARD IS BEAUTIFUL.  I THINK RED WOULD BE A GOOD COLOR FOR MIKE.
I NEED TO GO TO SLEEP AND IT SHOULD BE A GOOD ONE SINCE I HAVE BEEN UP SINCE 6 AND IT IS NOW 1AM.
CHAT WITH YOU TOMORROW.

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/16/2017 7:58 AM)

HELLO

Thank you for the darling Valentine tag!

Oh, boy, a Maxie Day.   I hope since they lost their regular baby-sitter, you don't become her "regular" sitter!  It gets sticky when you have to tell someone you can't or won't or don't want to do something they need for them, but it would be too easy for them to shift to Auntie Lou Ann's full time baby sitting service.   I know that would be way too much for me, and it bothers me that you were expected to provide her food for the day ~ at your own expense...

I hate hearing that your mom fell and ripped up her leg again!  I'd be stating the very obvious if I mentioned that she could easily do permanent damage to that leg, and what that might mean for her coming home.  Worrisome!

I don't really know what I am talking about here, but I have heard stories of seniors falling and breaking a bone and having that somehow effect them in ways other than "just" the broken bone.   Does it perhaps send some sort of chemical through the body that could be effecting her memory and moods.   Lord, I hope not ~ or if it is that they can give some kind of medicine to counter it.

Thanks ~ red is Mike's favorite color, so it seemed a good choice for his Valentine.   That's the only Valentine I made.    Actually, I've only made the three birthday cards I had to make since Christmas until Mike's Valentine.   Maybe I'll get into the groove again.  Maybe not.  ;-)

Do you ever watch the TV Show "Last Man Standing" with Tim Allen?   We pretty much never watch sit-coms anymore, but yesterday afternoon the news was really getting to me so I switched channels and landed on several episodes of Last Man Standing in a row.     You know how I hate the canned laugh tracks where you can almost see the hand of the guy at the controls turning the laughs on and off ~ "Laugh now", "Now stop".  ick.    This one had laughter apparently telling me when something was supposed to be funny, but it seemed different.  Then they announced that it was recorded before a live audience, like the sitcoms used to be in the "olden days".    Real laughter ~ nice change.   Then I found myself smiling at things that were said, and even laughing!

His daughters are annoying but needed for him to play off of, I think.  I'm amazed it is still on.  He plays a Conservative, and the jokes are often on those we aren't allowed to make fun of.   Of course there are a lot of jokes coming back on the stereotyped Conservatives as well, but when it's balanced, it's funny rather than just annoying. I honestly can't believe ABC would even consider having a show like that.  LOL.  Anyway, I may start watching a SitCom again.  :-D

Have a great day.

Good Morning.  TGIF

I can't stand it!   I woke up in the wee hours with a tickle cough that i couldn't stop, so rather than wake Mike and keep him up all night too, I got up and came into the Morning Room.   I usually don't turn the TV on this early, but today I did and it's off line somehow.  I need to get up and unplug it and plug it in again ~~ or wait for Mike to do it for me. ()     I'm clearly off to a rousing good start for the day ~ and of course now the coughing has completely stopped, but I'm wide awake and there is no point in my going back to bed.  GRUMBLE!

I watched three more episodes of 'Last Man Standing' yesterday afternoon.  They really give me a giggle ~~ shades of "All in the Family"!  lol

Hope you are feeling better and got a good night's sleep.

Love 'n Hugs,

I BET YOU DID NOT KNOW I LIVED IN COLORADO?  SURE ENOUGH, IT GOT UP TO 61 DEGREES TODAY.  WE ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE A WEEK OF ABOVE AVERAGE TEMP.  IT WAS AMAZING OUT.  WE HAVE OUR SCREEN DOOR OFF FOR THE WINTER OR I WOULD HAVE HAD THE FRONT DOOR OPEN.  CHRIS STOPPED IN IN THE AM AND SAID SHE WOULD CLEAN AT 1 AND I SAID OK.  AT 1:05 I WENT OUT TO GET THE MAIL AND ON WAY IN CALLED OUT I WAS READY FOR HER ANYTIME. SHE CAME OVER AND SAID ABOUT 10 MIN AS A FRIEND HAS STOPPED IN AND SHE DID.  FUNNY ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS SHE SAID AFTER HAVING BEEN IN THE KITCHEN WAS OH, I OWE YOU A COUPLE OF COORS FROM LAST WEEK.  I FORGOT TO TELL YOU I BORROWED A COUPLE. I WILL GET YOU SOME.  I SAID NOT TO BOTHER.  I WANTED TO SAY HOW MANY IS A FEW BECAUSE THERE ARE AT LEAST 8 MISSING. BUT, AND THIS WILL SURPRISE YOU....SHE CLEANED THE BATHTUB FINALLY, I ASKED HER TO PUT EVERYTHING BACK AND SHE DUSTED THE LIVING ROOM,  I AM IN SHOCK BUT AM A HAPPY CAMPER.
THE OTHER DAY I ASKED LOUANN THAT IF SHE HAD ANYTIME ON THUR OR FRI TO VISIT AND CHAT SO SHE CAME TODAY AND BROUGHT TACO BELL FOR LUNCH AROUND 2.  I ATE A LATE BREAKFAST KNOWING THAT.
WE CHATTED FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 HOURS AND ARE GETTING TOGETHER ON TUES FOR MORE REIGN.  SO I HAVE THAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO.  I HOPE TO SEE MY MOM THIS WEEKEND. OF COURSE SUZ SAID, WELL NOT SAT. BUT MAYBE SUN.  SO I MAY SEE IF SOMEONE ELSE CAN TAKE ME THERE.  MAYBE JOSH COULD HELP ME OUT.  HE OWES ME!  WE WILL SEE.
IN TWO WEEKS WE WILL FIND OUT THE SEX OF KIRSTIE'S BABY.  AM HOPING SHE GETS HER BABY GIRL.  SO FAR ALL 3 SIBS HAD A BOY FIRST.  THEN 2 OF THEM HAD A GIRL AND WE WILL SEE WHAT HER 2ND ONE IS.  REID AND TRICIA HAVE 3 AND THE 3RD WAS A BOY...THAT IS LYRIK.  I THINK THAT RISSA WILL QUIT SINCE SHE HAS ONE OF EACH AND KIRSTIE PROBABLY WOULD TOO. THOUGH YOU NEVER KNOW.
TURNER REALLY HAS BEEN HAVING SOME GREAT MOVIES ON.  I SAW GIGI AND  THEN I SAW LILI.  TODAY
I SAW YOURS, MINE AND OURS....HENRY FONDA AND LUCILLE BALL.  I LOVE THAT MOVIE...ALL THESE MOVIES.  GREAT STUFF.
I KNOW ALL THOSE SAYINGS AND STUFF RE ELDERLY AND BREAKING BONES ETC.  ONE IS THAT OFTEN IS AN ELDERLY PERSON BREAKS A HIP THEY WILL BE DEAD WITHIN A YEAR.  THAT IS REALLY MORE OF A FAILURE TO THRIVE THING.  IF THEY ARE OLD AND WEAK AND DO NOT MOVE AROUND ENOUGH THEY END
UP BEDRIDDEN AND GONE WITHIN A YEAR.  AND YES, OFTEN IN THE ELDERLY THERE CAN BE ADVERSE EFFECTS FROM THE ANESTHETICS.  THEY CAN ALTER THE BRAIN.  IT CAN CLEAR WITHIN DAYS OR A WEEK OR TWO OR IT CAN REMAIN.  THAT IS SAD AND MORE AND MORE THIS LOOKS THIS WAY.  I AM WONDERING IF WE HAVE A DATE FOR THE PSYCH EVAL YET?  I HOPE SO.
YOU NEED TO GO TO A CARD CLASS OR A CARD SHOPPING TRIP.  SEEING NEW THINGS CAN GET YOU MOTIVATED.  MAYBE EVEN JUST INVITE LIKE 3 OTHERS OVER AND EACH NEEDS TO PRESENT AN IDEA FOR ST. PAT'S, SPRING, OR EASTER CARDS  THEN LOOK ON LINE FOR AN IDEA TO SHARE.  IT WOULD BE SO MUCH FUN.
WELL, I HAVE TO GO.  IT IS 5 IN THE MORNING AND I DO NOT CARE.
TATA FOR NOW.  LOVE YOU.

(Date Posted:02/18/2017 10:25 AM)

Good Morning.

We're back to early summer here ~ heading for 65 degrees.  Isn't it still February?

Because I'd had such a bad night's sleep the night before last, I accomplished absolutely nothing yesterday.   I slept better last night, so we'll see what today brings.

Hey ~ Welcome to Sunny Colorado!     The warm temps in February seem so strange, but I can't say we aren't enjoying them.  Besides, I know that "Wait a few weeks".  Ha

OhMyGosh ~ what got into Chris!  I'm stunned.  First, it's so good that she brought up the subject of the Coors and just "borrowed" them with the intent of repaying them ~ or at least that's what it sounds like.  The thought of her helping herself to the beer is one thing, but it made me concerned that she would help herself to other things.

Then for her to do a really good job cleaning ~ for a change.  I suspect that sober she might be a good cleaner, and even a good neighbor.  Too bad that isn't often the case.

Nice that you got a good visit and lunch with Louann, and that you have Reign to look forward to.  I love that if you can't watch it with your friends, you can still watch it yourself now.   Not as much fun, of course, but you don't get so far behind that you don't know what's going on.

Have you talked to your mom ~~~ and typing that, I know that of course you have.   How is her leg?  Is anyone supervising and helping her go to the bathroom and whatever she needs and NOT allowing her to put weight on it?   Frightening to think what she could be doing to it.  Does she seem more clear headed?

Are they having a big 'reveal' for Kirstie's baby?   No one ever did that in the olden days when my friends and family were having babies.

We really have been enjoying the MGM movies too!   I tend to watch the musicals alone in the early morning before i go into the great room to be with Mike.  I think he likes them, sort of, but not as much as I do.  We sort of agree without words to watch some things in different rooms.  lol   I do like many of the things he does, too, but he can re-watch them so many times more than I want to.  Ha!   In turn, I watch the Lifetime for women things or the musicals in 'my' Morning Room, or in the bedroom before I get dressed.   Then a lot of the lifetime for women movies are mysteries that I know he would like, and he misses them.

MGM has a channel on OnDemand now, so we can go and find something from there even when it's not showing on the regular channel.   The other day, I selected an old Doris Day, James Cagney movie that I had loved years ago, "Love me or Leave me", and Mike enjoyed it too, probably not as much as I did, but I could tell he was liking it too.  It had been ages and ages since I'd seen that one.

One of the movies that has been on TCM ( I think ) several times is "Mr Roberts".   In the past when I've seen it advertised, I've just passed on it because I've seen it so may times, but now seeing little bits of it, I think we are both ready to watch that one again ~~ if we can find it.

We've been re-re-watching all of the Murdoch Mysteries and really enjoying them.  Not too many left though, unfortunately.  We get that on Acorn, but it's also on Ovation, I think.   I suspect you'd like it.

Well, I'm rambling so it must be time for me to get up and dressed.

Happy Weekend!

Hello

Sunday, sweet Sunday, and we're heading for another 67 degree day.  We probably should go out and play, but we're altogether too lazy.  ;-)

Yesterday we discovered a new-to-us TV series, 'Designated Survivor' and binge watched half a dozen episodes.   It stars Keifer Sutherland and has the same kind of intensity as "24".   On the one hand, each episode leaves you needing to know what happens next, but binge watching a whole lot of that level of intensity in a row is exhausting.   I did learn some things about our government that I either hadn't known or had long forgotten, that when our entire government meets together in one place, like at the State of the Union, we have a "Designated Survivor" who doesn't attend, just in case some unimaginable tragedy were to occur we would have a 'Designated Survivor' who would take over the office of President, and one who would represent Congress,  so the country wouldn't be left in chaos.     Have you watched it?

I did get a little laundry and a few other things done, but not much.

Oh, boy, the Chris and Scott show.  How fun.  I hope you were able to get some sleep in between bouts.

I'm so glad to hear that your mom seems better!   Help me remember, is Froedtert the Rehab facility where she will stay until her leg is healed?   How far is it from you?  Will you be able to see her often?

I think you are right that Murdoch is on Netflix now, and the delightful Miss Fisher Mysteries as well.  They might both be fun for you.  Try to start with the first ones if you can, not that they don't stand alone but it's always more fun to watch the characters develop.  I know you have more than enough other things to watch.

I'm watching "A Nun's Story" with Audrey Hepburn on TCM right now.  It's been a really long time since I've seen that one!

Have a Super Sunday.
