RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/07/2016 7:13 PM)

Today is SuperBowl 50 and Ballet Day.  I think it would be very interesting if they combined the two.  Can you see it?  I wish I was good at digital manipulation as I would love to create and animate that scene.  Football Players in tutu's and toe shoes running down the field doing ballet leaps and
spins as they go.  Once they get the ball they have to toe dance it to goal.  I am loving the idea of it all.  Your header tag looks as if it is a combination of the Super Bowl and the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet and then we have the Kitten Bowl on Hallmark.

OMG, the boys were hilarious last night.  We were watching a movie where the woman had a Jack Russell Terrier and every time that dog barked or ran around both dogs were over in front of the TV staring up at it and occasionally yipping or trying to see where the dog had gone by looking behind the TV.  Especially Murphy, he is the one that is part poodle and taller than Marley who is part spaniel.  Jerry thinks he looks like he is part cocker spaniel.  I tried to get a pic, but the one on my phone is way too dark and when I tried to get the camera they came running over by me thinking there might be a treat in their future.  They are so food motivated, given some time, I know I could train them.  Though Marley is diabetic and not supposed to have treats.  But I had some little training duck treats that really should not affect his blood sugars unless he ate a lot of them.  They are smaller than a normal dice is.

I am assuming that the her that Obama attended a wedding was in reference to one of the moderators. I got confused reading that part. I am glad the moderators asked good and sensible questions and not try to stir things up and start a riot.  It is not pretty when politicians are sniping at each other.  I want to hear facts and I want to hear what they are going to do for our country.  It is in dire need of help.  The whole world is.  In my mind I keep seeing bits and pieces of all these apocalyptic movies coming true and I would have no clue what to do to survive and even if I did, it is not likely I could do it.  Scary scary world these days.
I think the OJ mini series would be fascinating to watch.  I remember watching the world's slowest chase on TV.  Everyone was riveted to it. It was so anticlimactic.  LOL
But the trial was a farce.  I remember watching as much as I could of it and being shocked by the verdict.  Everyone knew he was guilty.  Even those that wanted him to get off knew he did it.  It was so obvious.  At least he is in prison now, even though it is for something else entirely.  Sounds like a stellar cast.  Enjoy!
Chat with you tomorrow.
Oh yeah, GO BRONCOS!!!  (Shh, don't tell Brent)
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/08/2016 8:15 AM)

Good Morning.
The Superbowl Celebration continues.  Lots of Superbowl Parties, Crowds celebrating in the streets, Fireworks after the Bronco's win last night and a Parade on Tuesday.  I'm really happy for Manning.  I suspect this was his last game.  It was a fun day.   Had to feel bad for the Panthers.  They were clearly so brokenhearted, but there is always next year.

The Empanadas were good, but not great.  We have lots left and we'll enjoy them, but I don't think we'll order more.

Quite an image, the Superbowl as a ballet.  Actually, there were a lot of ballet type moves during the game.  LOL   Honestly when you watch you have to wonder why there aren't more injuries.  Maybe it's the ballet training.  ;-)

We didn't watch the Half Time Show, and for some reason we didn't see many of the commercials ~ or at least I didn't.  I have to admit I was reading and watching, and when there wasn't an exciting play on my nose was in my book.

I didn't see much of the Puppy Bowl even though our own Denver Dumb Friends League had several puppies 'playing'.  I did see some of the Kitten Bowl.  Cute.

How much fun you are having with the 'boys'.   I love it.  I'll bet they are, too.

I did have my nose glued to the TV during the OJ trial.  Fascinating TV to me.  Now, all these years later as I watched the first episode of the mini-series, I was amazed at how much I'd forgotten.  A lot of "Who's That?" with different characters.  I'm not saying we will watch all episodes, but I think we will watch the next one at least.  That should involve the Bronco Chase, which really was weird, wasn't it?

We watched Downton last night and I wish you were watching it too cuz I'd love to discuss it with you.  Bittersweet knowing it's coming to an end.

Tonight X-Files and a new Castle.  I find that I am reading much more than I have for quite a while.  If I can just pry myself away from the PC, I may have my life back. LOL

Have a lovely day!

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/08/2016 11:31 PM)

Congratulations on the Bronco's win.  I really am happy for Peyton Manning.  It is a great way to go out at the top.  Hopefully he will not get all wishy washy, flip flopping like Brett Favre did.  He really had an overly anticlimactic retirement.  And on top of everything...eventually going to the Vikings was a slap in the face to the Pack.  But time heals all wounds and we are back to loving him.  He just loved the game so much, he could not let go.  Brent and Jason were at the game where he was inducted into the Packer Hall of Fame.  Also Bart Starr was there with him.  It was a hallmark for Packer fans.

Lady GaGa really did a fabulous job on the National Anthem.  She really has a wonderful voice.  She always looks a little bizarre, but it would not be GaGa if she did not.  I loved her red suit and blue nails and shoes and her blinged up microphone.  What I saw of the half time show (bits and pieces on Youtube) it was ok.  I like Beyonce and I love Bruno Mars and have no clue who the other guy was, lol.  It was fun to watch but I could not clearly hear the song/music.  Oh well!

I am watching Downton, but we are way behind.  I think we have only seen the first 2 or 3 episodes.  We are watching Downton and Galavant when we get together.  Also Louann has recorded War and Peace and that will be the next one we watch.  I wonder if she recorded or is recording OJ?  I will have to ask her.

The ladies (Carole & Gloria) are coming tomorrow (Tue) night.  So I may not make it here, depending on how long they stay.  We are sort of having a potluck.
Carole is bringing fish the her husband caught and she will be frying it and french fries here.  Gloria is bringing cole slaw and rye buns.  I am making a brownie bottomed cheesecake.  So there will be good eats as always.  Mom gets bored when we talk about work, people we worked with, etc.  So then she complains afterward that she could not hear the TV with everyone talking.  I tell her it is only once a month, she can deal with it.

Have a great Tuesday and if I am not here, then have a wonderful hump day too.
Love and Hugs,

Hello!   It's Fat Tuesday ~ a day just made for me!

We have an appointment to go to the Verizon Store this morning.   Mike gave me an IOU for an upgrade on my iPhone for Christmas, and I've just become eligible to upgrade.   We're going to go and look at the 6S and the 6S Plus.  I don't really need an upgrade, but Mike wants to do it and now I'm at least curious to see if I'd like one.   Kind of depends on whether or not they pull a series of fast ones and end up adding all sorts of "because we can" charges, or not.   You know how they can be.

If I do get a new one, I'll give my current one which is paid for to Mike.  He doesn't have a Smart phone.   He is currently on our niece Laine's Friends and Family plan and she just changed it so he can add a Smart Phone without any cost, except for the actual phone.  Since mine is paid for, there should be no increase.

Big Bronco's Parade in downtown Denver at noon.  I can't even imagine the crowds, but they say that they are expecting so many that the Wireless Networks may not be able to handle it, and some cell phones won't work.  Everyone will want to take pictures and mail them, and they may even be able to.  We'll be watching it on TV rather than in person, thankyouverymuch.

  smiley101

I agree about Lady GaGa's National Anthem ~ really great.  Because she always looks so bizarre, I have tended to dismiss her, though I've liked some of her songs.  It always surprises me when she shows the real quality of her voice, without the gimmicks.

We didn't watch the Half Time Show, but I read later that Beyonce had a lot of anti-cop references and ~ well, not the kind of thing that I admire, so I'm not sorry I missed it.

We tried twice to watch War and Peace ~ it looks like it would be so good, but we just couldn't get into it.  May be our moods at the time we watched ~ or not.  I'll be interested to hear what you think.

Enjoy your Party with your friends!

Oooh, and thank you for the beautiful tag!

Well, we're off to see what Verizon has to say and whether or not I come home with a new phone.

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/10/2016 9:03 AM)

Hello!

Somewhat disappointing day yesterday.  I found a phone that I quite liked and then got the 'speil' ~ 7000 words leaving me with more questions than answers.  I'm pretty sure the customer is supposed to just be thrilled that they can save you money and sign up ~~ but I had trouble understanding HOW they were saving me money.  I'll spare you what we thought going in and what he said, but I said I needed to think about it and left.  Came home and thought about it, and I still don't "get" it ~~ so I didn't GET it.  Ha.  Not that I needed a new phone, but it would have been fun, and it would have been fun to give Mike mine.   I'm probably just a senile old woman and everything was clear to anyone else, but while I don't mind spending money if I have it, I really hate feeling like I'm being flim-flammed.

Sooo, I suggested we go on to LazyBoy and look at chairs to replace ours.  Another disappointment.  Lots of chairs, of course, and a pretty good sale going on, but Mike didn't find many he was comfortable in, and when he did, the matching one was uncomfortable for me.  We'd really like to replace the two in the Great Room because they aren't comfortable, and the two in the Morning room, because the one is 10 years old and needs repair and the other is 8 years old and probably will before long.   I did find one that is comfy and looks good on a really good sale, but it had been claimed by someone in another store for her customer.  Lots of fanigulating around, and she ordered one from a different warehouse for me, but there is some question about the quality of those stored in that warehouse.  They are having it brought to their store and if it looks good, they will add a swivel base and deliver it to me and take the old one away.  If not, they will let me know and I will let the guy who is coming to repair the old one come on.  Otherwise I'll cancel him.   Nothing, but nothing is easy!   LOL

We also found a power chair that miracle of miracles was comfy for both of us.  It's in white leather and that won't do, so we need to try it out again and then look at other fabrics.  If we could accept it with the white or the near black leather, we could have them right away, but otherwise if we do decide on them, it will be three months. That would be fine ~~ going back and selecting fabric will be less fine.  ha.  We'll also miss the sale, I expect.  Have to think about it.

So, all in all, a rather frustrating day.  It was beautiful out though, and we got home in time to watch a bit of the Bronco's Parade on TV.  They said there were a million people there!

I was really afraid I had worn poor Mike to the nub, but he did surprisingly well, and so did I.  We'll take it easy today, and this afternoon we are going to the Keg for an appetizer and cocktail meal to celebrate my Re-Birthday.  It is Ash Wednesday, and instead of prayer and fasting, we're going out to party. (blush). Hey, any excuse.  We'll be better tomorrow. LOL

I hope you had a great time with your friends, and that you have a nice today, too.

I can't remember if you watch Good Wife but it's being cancelled. Apparently they had an ad during the SuperBowl, but I didn't see it.  I should feel bad, but I really think it's time.  Too bad.  I loved it at first.

Stay warm!!

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/10/2016 5:39 PM)

Here I am, finally. We had a good time last night. The food was delicious. The fish was Walleye and so good. My dessert turned out wonderful. Of course, like she always does,  mom picked it apart. I would leave the chocolate chips out and would add nuts to the brownies. Sigh....Oh well. It was nice and mom did a lot of talking last night so she was happy. She snapped at me twice, so I just shut up. I need to learn just to let her tell the story wrong and not correct her. Another sigh...

I would not have a clue what they were talking about when it comes to a smart home. And they usually talk really fast. You have to know what they are talking about to get it. I would have to take one of my guy friends along. Gary, Steve or Bruce know a lot about smart phones. Or one of the girls, I am sure Rissa or Kirstie would understand it too. They all have them. I am woefully ignorant when it comes to smart phones.

Yeah, I heard that Beyonce's song had Black Lives Matter in it and several things flashed on the screen of someone holding a sign or something. I can never understand what they are singing any way. They discussed it on The Talk. Some felt it was not the time or place for her to get her message across and others thought it was fine for her to do what she did.  Why not use your clout to get your message out. I think it is a sports, social and family event and that it was not the time and place for that. She can get any genre she want to get her point across. But not the Super Bowl.

Wow, that is a lot of work to find the right chairs. But I know how important it is to find one that is comfortable. I hope that the one they are going to add swivel to works great for you. I would think that is you ordered the others while the sale was on, then you would  get the sale price. You could ask.

Happy Rebirthday!!  I forgot to check the calendar for birthdays, etc. Sorry about that. My "rebirthday" was the 2nd on Groundhogs Day. We did nothing to celebrate it. I always refer to it as my Celebration of Life Day. I just let it slide by. Does not really matter. Not to anyone but me, lol. So am thinking I should do something nice for myself.

Mom got some exciting news. She had been going to TOPs since 1988 and finally hit her goal last year. Recently she has been talking about quitting. I told her she should hang in there a few more months because she would be her chapter Queen this year, I said you should get recognized for all your work. So she said she would stay.  Today she got a letter from the head of the WI TOPS organization. She is the State Queen for WI, which means she had the farthest to go to meet goal so has the largest total weight loss for all who made TOPS status in the last year in WI. How wonderful.  She will be honored at the SRD (State Recognition Day) on Apr 30th in Baraboo. She needs to get a dress, formal floor length or you can get shorter, for the event. She does not even own a dress. I said have Joanne take you shopping to get a really nice dress. I was also thinking, but did not say, that we could use that dress to bury her in when the time comes. If she does not loose more weight. The hard thing is she is not allowed to tell anyone other than immediate family and her TOPS chapter until after SRD. Then they will want he interviewed for the paper and for the TOPS magazine. I am so happy for her. She is happy, but a bit worried about being in the spotlight. It might be a bit much for her but Joanne said she will take her to the SRD so that makes me feel better.

Well, that's it for me. Again, happy rebirthday and I hope you get to experience many more.

XOXOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/11/2016 10:05 AM)

20th Re-birthday celebration at The Keg

My favorite Baked Brie.   First you cut a bite of the warm baked brie and spread it on the crostini (toast).   Then you add a bit of the Red Pepper Jelly, and because it's so hot it makes you mad, you top it with a dab of the Pesto to cool it.   Heaven on a Crostini.

Mike had his favorite Shrimp Cocktail and then Prime Beef Sliders with onion strings, horseradish sauce and au jus.   He also ordered some French Fries and they served their home made potato chips with our drinks.

Amazing Sunset.

Then my re-birthday present ~~~ Chocolate Cherry Pie.   Oh, MY!

But wait!   He also got a Peach Pie for us to have for breakfast for the next few days!   I am celebrated indeed!

I missed your Celebration of Life, and I'm sorry.  I went back in my posts to see what was going on, and that was when we had the Big Snow and the beginning of the month things going on.  Not an excuse, just a sort-of explanation.  I'll do better next year!    Now, nine days later, let me just tell you in case you didn't know, I celebrate your life with you.  I'm so glad you are here!  My life wouldn't be nearly as good without you.

Oooh, I won't tell Mike you had Walleye ~ lol.  He'd be so jealous!  Your dessert sounded wonderful!

Because I have a Smart Phone now, I didn't have any trouble understanding the newer features on the phone.  What I had trouble with was understanding the Billing.  I know they deliberately make that as hard to understand so you will be too embarrassed to question it and will just shut up and pay, but I have a very simple mind and I need to see that 1+1 = 2.  They don't want go get down to such simple minded basics.  Perhaps it's Common Core math (lol).  I tend to think it's just Double Talk Math so I will just shut up and pay whatever they say.   After all, they told me I'd be saving money even though i can't see that I am.

I understand there is a Beyonce Boycott coming up.  Good. There should be consequences to our actions.  She obviously is doing what she believes in, but "Celebrities" so often feel that everyone will automatically agree with them ~ except for a handful of bad or dumb people.  Ha! I really understand how they get those enormous egos, everyone around them keeps telling them how wonderful they are, and they make buckets of money from "everyone else".  Clearly they are worthy to be worshipped.   I think the occasional Reality Check is good for them.  Won't change them, but might make them actually think for a second or two before they act.   She requested a police escort to get her entourage to the Stadium, and then disses the guys who got her there.

How wonderful for your Mom to get the recognition she deserves!  She does so much to help others and she has every right and reason to be proud of her weight loss accomplishment ~ AND, she is an inspiration to others who are fighting that battle.  I'm so happy for her!

Democrat Debate tonight.  You there?   Me, neither.

Love 'n Hugs!
I won't use a graphic since I've already used so many pictures.

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT

Ok, first I have a correction.  Mom is the ARD Queen not the SRD Queen.  A is Area so she is queen to however many counties are included in her Area.  Not sure how many that is, but it is quite a few.  So she is not State Queen, still it is quite an accomplishment.  She is no less pleased, lol.

Your food looks so good.  Did Mike take any of that home or does he have a hollow leg, lol.  Yours sounds so good and I am sure I would love it.  That pie looks amazing.  DId Mike make it?  If he did, I would love the recipe.  I would be salivating but I just finished a piece of the brownie cheesecake. :)  But the idea of Peach Pie for breakfast is making me extremely jealous. :D

Your sunrises and sunsets are always so beautiful.  Are they that way every day?  It sure seems like it.  I enjoy seeing them.  You can never post too many pictures as far as I am concerned.

Nerissa (Rissa) just sent me some pics from our Christmas of Sam and I and the book I gave him.  Look at how thin the hair is on the top of my head.  I want to cry.

That was about how long he stayed with me before he took the book and left.  I do not see him that often and he is more interested in playing with his cousins and the toys than he is in spending time with me.

Thank you for celebrating me.  I celebrate you everyday!!  My life would be so much sadder and emptier without you.  Your posts always lift me up and make me feel better.  You are so witty and have a way with words that I really enjoy.  Thank you for being a part of my life.

Yes, it is the double talk in billing info that gets you.  I want both plans, written out, side by side, showing me exactly how and where I am saving money.  They do so much double talk that they make you think you are saving and you really aren't.

Well, getting off and going to read a bit. I just got the new Charlie Parker book.  Then I want to get more in that Death by Chocolate series.

TGIF!

Hugs,

Running late and will probably be a short post ~ for me. ;-)    Shauna is here now.

Gorgeous day.  No plans.

I don't think being the ARD Queen is less impressive than the SRD Queen.  It's a huge accomplishment and great recognition, and I'm proud of her too!!

We did order more of those sliders to take home, and had them for dinner last night (without the fries & stuff)   They were delicious ~ and fun.

Your brownie cheesecake sounds wonderful!  The only thing that made my Chocolate Cherry Pie "better" was that I didn't have to make it.
Yes, Mike "made" it ~~ instead of the recipe, I can share a link to the Web Site.  lol

The pictures of you and Sam are precious.  Little ones like that rarely have the attention span to really pay attention to a book when the house is full of other kids.  He's a real cutie.

I almost hate to admit, but I am reading the fifth (and last for now) Death by Chocolate book.  My own authors, whose unread books are on my library shelves and on my Kindle look at me accusingly from their  dust covers and I feel guilty.  I have read so little in the last few years, and now here I am gobbling these little cozies up as if they were dark chocolate and leaving "My" authors lovely books just sitting there.   I think that is one positive about all the Politics ~~ I'm really sick of it and them and not pouring through Newsletters and watching TV news non stop, so I actually am reading again.  Kinda sez something.  (smile)

Have a Happy Day!

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/13/2016 8:38 AM)

Happy Saturday, the day before Valentine's Day.

We're going to go to Lazy Boy this morning and take another look at those power recliners.  We need to replace the two recliners in the great room because they just aren't comfortable for either of us, and we spend an awful lot of time in them.  We want to see if we still think this chair at LazyBoy is comfy for both of us.  If it is, we may look at different fabrics and think about ordering them.  No idea how it will work out.    Still haven't heard anything about the one we did order for the Morning Room.

Sharing some exciting news.  Aaron and Christina are having another baby, and they just got the news that it will be a little Sister for Vince, in June!  Grandma, Grandpa and parents are over the moon.

Foggy this morning.  Denver, like Brigadoon, has completely disappeared into the mist.   Mike turned the heat down another degree last night ~ great sleeping, but it must have been cold. Early morning, Shogun came and cuddled up next to me under the covers and purrred and purred.  I don't kid myself.  It wasn't because of his deep love for "mom", but her body heat.  lol     Supposed to get up to 64 today!

I'm so sorry you lost your post.  Soooo frustrating and I hate it for Me, too, because that means I don't get to read it!   I always love reading your posts.

For all their "improvements" from resetting the servers minutes before they bolted out the back door to celebrate Chinese New Year for two weeks, Aimoo still has a lot of problems.   I'll often open a new post and get the Page Not Found thing, then if I hit F5 to refresh it appears again.    You are probably way ahead of me, but sometimes hitting Cntl-Z will restore your own post if it's lost or somehow wrong.  Can't think of anything else to suggest.   I hope the rest of the night and today go a whole lot better for you.

IT IS DARNED COLD HERE.  IT IS -2.  BRRRRRR

MOM IS THE STATE QUEEN.  SHE GOT ALL MIXED UP AND DECIDED SHE COULD NOT POSSIBLY BE STATE QUEEN AND THAT SHE MUST BE AREA QUEEN.  I DID NOT THINK THAT WAS RIGHT, BUT I HAVE LEARNED TO NOT ARGUE WITH HER SINCE IT UPSETS HER SO MUCH.  I ASKED HER TO REREAD IT AND SHE SAID SRD AND I SAID MOM THAT IS STATE...AND SO IT IS.

I SEEM TO HAVE FORGOTTEN TO TELL YOU ABOUT JORDAN...
HE IS OUR BRACELET BOY!!  TUES ON HIS WAY TO WORK HE CRASHED INTO A PARKED CAR JUST 3 BLOCKS FROM HOME.
THAT CAR THEN HIT ANOTHER PARKED CAR.  LUCKILY NEITHER OF THOSE TWO CARS ARE DAMAGED.  UNLUCKILY THEIR CAR IS TOTALLED AND JORDAN HAS A BROKEN L-5 VERTEBRA.  HE SEES
A NEUROSURGEON THIS WEEK.  PLEASE SAY A PRAYER FOR HIM.
THE DOCTOR WHO SAW HIM HERE WOULD NOT GIVE HIM ANYTHING FOR PAIN BECAUSE OF HIM WEARING A BRACELET.
BUT I DO HAVE TO SAY THE ORIGINAL DIAGNOSIS WAS FOR WHIPLASH.  BUT THEN THEY CALLED THE NEXT DAY AND THE SPECIALIST READING THE X-RAY TOLD THEM OF THE BREAK.
BUT NOW THE JAIL SAYS IF THE DOCTOR THINKS HE NEEDS PAIN MEDS HE CAN HAVE THEM.  THEY DO NOT HAVE ISSUES WITH THAT.  SO I DO NOT KNOW WHY THE DOCTOR HE SAW WAS SUCH A JERK. HE HAS BEEN SUFFERING ALL WEEK AND DRIVING MY SISTER CRAZY.  WITH BOTH JERRY AND JORDAN HOME AND NOT WORKING THEY ARE ALL MAKING HER NUTS. SHE HAS BEEN SO ON EDGE. TWO MAJOR ACCIDENTS IN HER FAMILY IN A MATTER OF A COUPLE OF WEEKS.  SHE NEEDS A VACATION AWAY FROM THEM ALL.  MONDAY IS JERRY'S BIRTHDAY SO MOM IS MAKING A HAM DINNER AND THEY ARE COMING TOMORROW AT SUPPERTIME FOR IT.  JORDAN CANNOT COME AND I SUPPOSE TRAVIS WILL COME SINCE IT INVOLVES FOOD.
WELL I WANT TO GET SOME READING IN SO WILL SAY GOOD NIGHT.  YOU AND MIKE HAVE A LOVELY VALENTINE'S DAY.
LOVE AND HUGS

Good Morning

Happy Valentine's Day!

We didn't get to Lazy Boy yesterday, so I think we will go today before (or after) going to the Golden Europe (Czech) Restaurant for our Valentine's Lunch.  We never go out on Valentine's Day, but the Golden Europe is never open on Sunday so this is special for them.  Hopefully we will hit a time when it isn't busy.

Such sad news yesterday that Judge Scalia died.  Brilliant Constitutional Scholar and good man.

What a beautiful post ~ and beautiful tags.  Thank you.  I love it ~ I will save my new tag AND your beautiful border for next year!

Ok, you are just TRYING to keep me confused, aren'tcha?  Don't you realize I walk around in a confused daze most of the time without help?  ;-)   So you mom IS The State Queen!   That really is awesome!   I want to see copies of the write ups when they come out!

OMG, Jordan!  He is a one man Bad Luck Bear!  I feel so sorry for him, and maybe even sorrier for Mom and Dad.  I can't imagine the expense of replacing two cars, or the raised insurance rates, not to mention the worry about their son.

Thank God the break in his back wasn't even worse and didn't do some permanent damage.  When you think of what could have happened, it's frightening.  I'm sure Jerry's birthday party will be a nice relief for the whole family.

You have a lovely Valentine's Day too.

Good Morning!  Did you have a Happy Valentine's Day?

We went to LazyBoy to try out the chair we thought we liked, and realized we didn't!   I had sat in it, but apparently hadn't sat back.  When I did, it was awful.  The back was too tall and the cushion area hit just above my head.  When Mike sat in it, it was comfy but he had way too much trouble getting out of it.

We went looking at other Power Chairs, and wonder of wonders, we found one that was comfy for both of us.  I even loved the gold color, but it wouldn't work in our Great Room.  Then we discovered some problems with it ~ when I put my feet up it automatically lowered the back as well.  That doesn't work for me!   Again, because it was a rocker, Mike had trouble getting out of it.  We talked to the sales gal we had been working with, a delightful young woman, and she ran to see if that chair could be had in a non-rocker style, which would resolve Mike's problem and allow me to raise either the legs or put the back back or both.  We decided to order two of them, in a gradiated pebble effect red leather, to replace the recliners in the Great room.  Those chairs are in good shape and probably look better than the new ones, but they are so uncomfortable for both of us.  I can hardly wait the 8 to 12 weeks to get the new ones ~~ and then I'll worry if they will be comfortable because we didn't really sit in the ones we'll be getting.   Looks like I have non-stop opportunity to worry.   Oh, and they did give us the sale discount of 25%.

The one we ordered for the Morning Room will be delivered today.  Saleslady Sasha said it was even better looking than the floor model we had selected!  There had been some concern because another saleswoman in a different store had earmarked their floor model because she didn't want one from the warehouse where ours had been living.  Not sure why, apparently she had bad experiences.  Anyway, Sasha said ours was great.   Now if it's just comfy!

Then we went on to the Valentine's Day dinner at the Golden Europe Restaurant, and brought half of it home for tonight.

Our temps are still warm, but the winds are bad.  We're expecting gusts of up to 75 mph.  I hate it!

Shucks!  Once again I've written way too much about me.  Sorry!

I hope you are having a good day.

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/15/2016 11:13 PM)

Sorry I was not here last night.  I was pretty out of it.  My back was hurting so bad yesterday and the Tramadol just was not helping so I took a couple tylenol with codeine.  I got so tired and was in and out of it.  I finally dragged myself off to my room at nearly 4am.  I could not even think right.

Valentines Day was just another day.  Mom did make a ham dinner for Jerry for his birthday which is today.  Suz and Jerry came around 4:15 and we ate at 5:00 then they left about 6:30.  Jordan called and asked Suz to bring him home a plate of food.  They were supposed to eat left over beef stew but changed his mind.  So mom put together a plate for him.  He sees the neurosurgeon on Tues and will see what he thinks needs to be done.  Jerry f/u with the hand specialist on Fri and see if he will release him to work.  They would not give him light duty.  Jerry has a lot of sick days built up so he is getting pay for his time off....but he is bored as he is not used to sitting around doing nothing.

My INR last week was great, 2.6 so follow up in 4 weeks. At least something is good.  Been suffering with plugged up sinuses which makes it hard to wear the Cpap.  I am also waking up with a sore throat that hangs in there all day.  I keep being afraid it will take the one more step into a respiratory infection.  Keep you fingers crossed for me.

I think all days would be better with cupcakes.  I need some.  Joanne did bring us some chocolates...we each get 6 turtles, mom gave me all the dark chocolate that are made with almonds.  She took all the milk chocolate that are made with pecans.  I like both kinds of chocolate but mom does not care for dark...so I get them and do not get any of the milk.  Oh well.

Here is a funny little story for you.  When we were teens, mom bought Joanne and I new bikes but they were on a payment plan that we had to pay.  I named my bike Majesty...(it was really a horse).  Her full name was "La Majestad de la Vida"...The Majesty of Life.  I had read it somewhere and though it sounded so majestic, lol.  I do not know what made me think of this and I think Louann is the only one who knew this and she probably does not remember it.  I cannot recall what she named her bike.  Ok, enough of that crap.

I hope your recliners all work out well for you.  Nothing worse than an uncomfortable one.  I know from experience.  Luckily, mine fits me pretty well.  Both of them.  Though I am contemplating switching them around because the living room one looks pretty bad and the bedroom one looks great.  Still thinking on it.  The gold was a nice color.

I want to be in Cupcake Heaven!!

Hugs,
