RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:01/31/2015 10:47 PM)

We are supposed to be getting snow too, but so far nothing. That is just fine with me since I have to go out on Monday. Just remembered that I needed my INR too, so will ask Denise to order it so I can get it there. My doctor is in the North Fond du Lac Clinic. My order is at the lab in the Fond du Lac Clinic. Might as well kill to birds with one stone. I promise I will not kill and real birds, lol. Ooh, mom just said there is an 82% chance of snow tonight.

Spent all day doing the skin and February page. Got nothing else done, but that's ok. The pork loin was some of the meat that Brent gave us for Christmas. The flavoring was already infused in it. It was very good. I was thinking about your sauerkraut with the brown sugar and apples and thought that would be marvelous with it. I would love Mike's cooking. I would experiment but we really do not have much to play with and there is no alcohol in the house.  No, I take that back. There is a bottle of Mogen David from a year ago in the fridge. Mom had one spritzer and nothing since...is it even any good any more? I do have a couple wine coolers in there too, but they are too sweet to be good in something...unless it was a dessert.

As far as your friend, there are supposed to be services that will help with cleaning until you are on your feet again.  Moms visiting nurse said it was available, but she declined. The woman is insane.

I remember that Mardi Gras tag. I used the art of Jasmine Becket-Griffith. I love her work. Also love Caron Vinson. They have replaced my obsession with Suzanne Woolcott. But I fear that Caron is no longer creating too. Have seen nothing new from her in quite a while and I know she has MS.
Yes, I know you love me too but everyone needs to hear it or see it every so often. As we know so well how short life can be. It sucked that there was not color to match my post. The purple is too blue and the red to orange. And the pink...just all wrong too. Wish they would give us more color range and more fonts. These tags too are Jasmine Becket-Griffith.
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/01/2015 1:07 PM)

Yesterday afternoon I went out without a jacket to pick up the mail.  We never did get our snow yesterday, but while we were sleeping ~~~~

 Denver zoomed from the deck

Not predicted, but we got over 6 inches! Gotta love the Weather Folk.    I don't think this is going to make it nicer for the Superbowl parties.   It's 21 degrees right now with a wind chill of 14, and this is going to be the High for today!

Love the new February skin and Page.   Thank you so much!  You know you don't have to go to so much trouble just for little old me, but I hope you also know how much I appreciate and enjoy it.    I see the 2nd is Lou Ann's Celebration of Life day ~~ is that your "re-birthday"?   Mine is on February 10th!   I had a cardiac arrest and died for a wee little bit on that day, but as you see ~~ I'm baa-ack.     I didn't remember yours being in February also, so maybe your celebration of life day is for a different reason??
National Freedom Day sounds good too.

My INR on Thursday was 3.3.   Nurse said since I had been so consistently within range for so long she hated to change anything so she just had me cut down to half a dose yesterday and then go back to doing what I was doing.

I'm sure hoping that my friend Faye's Social Worker will recommend a paid for by Medicare temporary house cleaner.   Her husband has recently had some heart problems and needs among other things to start using a CPAP, but that hasn't happened yet, so poor Bill, who was her tower of strength, isn't.  They are like Mike and me, usually when one is down and out the other one steps up.  Sometimes we (they) are both down, and then it's really hard.  That's what's happening now.  She isn't supposed to even go to the bathroom alone for 12 days.   Faye is the kind of gal who even through the most horrific surgeries and problems would still get down on her hands and knees and scrub the floor or go out and do yard work I would never have been able to do.   Frankly she scares the heck out of me!  They have friends, but they don't have any family nearby.

My other online friend Adrienne and I just got off the phone after half a dozen calls trying to figure out how to have some meals catered to them from a grocery store that is only 1.8 miles from her house.  I can't tell you how good it makes me feel to have decided on something we can actually do!

Now that you mention it I do dimly remember something about Caron Vinson having MS.  How sad.  I love her work.

...... and just look at the sweet new tag you made for me!   I love it.  Thank you!

Have a lovely day!

Dorothy

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/01/2015 3:58 PM)

Gee Dorothy, your pictures look familiar. Are you sure you did not take them here in Fond du Lac? Looks just like my street. We got hit overnight too, but ours was in the forecast. Still snowing here and hazy...not good at all for those going to Super Bowl parties. Mom and I are going to watch the Super Bowl. She took the Patriots so I get the Sea Hawks. We are really going to watch it for the commercials, but it will make it a bit more fun this way.  Loser buys supper some time this week.
I am so sorry that I had your Rebirthday on the wrong day Dorothy.  I do not know why I thought it was on the 4th.  I changed it.  Yes, it is my rebirth day but I have always called it My Celebration of Life.  I had my Bone Marrow Transplant on Feb 2nd, 2000.  Cannot believe it has been 15 years.  My Cancer did reoccur in 2001 after 1 1/2 year of remission.  But only in one place instead of riddled throughout my whole body so I feel that ultimately the BMT saved my life. Even though the last fight was a hard one. The first anniversary I had a big party that I called A Celebration of Life. So have always referred to that day by that name.
Are you sure you like the group skin? It is not my normal style or even yours. Just thought I would spice things up a bit. LOL  It was a challenge in another group to make a sexy valentine.  I do not do sexy and this was the closest to sexy I had.  I won the contest only because no one else entered.  I won a free exclusive tube from PFD. I will probably already have it or hate it, lol.  Since I get those when they are ones I like.  PFD had artist projects and they will pitch an idea and rough sketch and how much it is to pay for the tube. Anywhere from $60 to $200.  By putting in $1.00 you automatically get the tag when it is done.  The tag becomes an exclusive tube and only Club members can buy them. I am not a Club member at PFD. I am at CDO as it saves me a lot of money. So the only way I can get these tags is to buy them in the making process. It saves me money too since tubes are $1.85 and I only have to donate $1 to get it. For each dollar you donate you get a tube and you can gift the others to friends as long as they carry a licence. This tube in the header was an exclusive tube. Though it did not really follow the original plan, lol.
Mom baked a cake for us. So much for low carb. It is the one where you just mix an Angel Food cake mix will a can of crushed pineapple and bake. It smells heavenly. I will let you know how it was tomorrow, lol.  We hare having meatloaf for supper as Chris (lil apt) made one and sent us 2 nice pieces.  I wish I had green beans to go with it.
So that's it from me. Gotta see what I can find for this border I just made.
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/02/2015 10:23 AM)

Good Morning!  Beautiful sunrise this morning.  Temps are warming.  We should get into the 50s

It's Groundhog's Day, and that dirty rotten rodent saw his shadow, which means 6 more weeks of Winter.   Bundle up!

Happy Celebration of Life!

I'm glad you got a second chance because my life wouldn't be nearly as good if you were not in it.      I'm 5 years older than you are now.  My re-birth was in 1995.  Thank God for Second Chances.

Congrats to the Patriots.  What an awful call at the end for the Seahawks!   We didn't watch, except maybe 5 minutes of the Half Time Show to see what all the shouting was about.  They seem to have Katy Perry every year for the Half Time show, or so it seems to me.  I'm clearly not part of the acceptable demographic.  I really don't see what all the shouting is about.   The dancing looked colorful . . .    as I said, I only stayed for about 5 minutes.  Maybe it really was great.

Beautiful border.  I think I have to steal it.    Beautiful tag, too.

I blew my carbs yesterday too!  I have been soooo good you wouldn't know it was me.  Then for some unfathomable reason, yesterday I opened a box of my favorite candies (chocolate covered orange jellies) that Mike got me for Christmas and ate half the box, or nearly.  I can't even believe I did that.  It just kept calling my name from up in a drawer in the Morning Room, and finally I couldn't stand ignoring that pathetic little voice anymore. smiley74  I've been losing about an ounce a month, but I suppose I gained 16 lbs yesterday.  I didn't hop on the scale to find out and ruin my day.  (lol)

I have that recipe for the cake your mom made and it sounds wonderful.  I am anxious to learn if it really is!

Have a great day!

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/03/2015 11:45 AM)

Hello

It's already 46 degrees, heading for a high of 61 today!  But wait.  Tomorrow they are predicting a 'high' of 32 (freezing!) and Snow!    Never boring, I tell ya.

Mike got our taxes done yesterday and we are getting back a big refund.  On the one hand, of course that's nice.  On the other, it means we have given the government a big (to us) tax free loan.   I was rather shocked to see how small our income actually is.  I think I still have images in my head of what it was ~ lol.  By the time they take out exemptions and deductions, I think we must be close to the poverty line.   Kind of strange because when we made a lot more we were often quite pinched.  Now we make nothing, and we're "comfortable".  LOL    Of course if we were taking wonderful trips like our neighbors are, or buying cars or whatever, I'm sure we'd feel the pinch again, but since we really don't do anything ~~ comfortable.
He'll file it electronically today or tomorrow.  So nice to be able to do that and get your refund quickly.

I got all the funds transferred and the check books balanced yesterday.  I think I may tackle the Budget Book today.  Having one month to post and balance will be a whole lot nicer than THREE months, like last time!   (I hope!!)   Mike calls me a Luddite because I use my old Budget Notebook instead of one of the nifty electronic versions, but I have tried them before and my mind just doesn't work like an accountants and it's much harder for me.   I'll post what to me is a debit and they consider it a credit, and then they won't let me change it.   Nope.  The old paper version for me ~~ and hey.  Even Mike admits that my keeping it is what allows us to be "comfortable".       When we were first married he had a tendency to see the check book balance as "funds available" instead of "seeing" it as allocated to my buckets (Car insurance, tax, gas, maintenance: Utilities: Gifts: Food: Medical:Misc ~~ etc. etc.).

First thing on the agenda this morning was to get some things out for the Viet Nam Vets Pick Up, including our "new" Christmas tree, which we are expecting Balsam Hills to replace.   While it doesn't work as it should, it does work and it's a darned nice tree with the option of all white, all colored or both colored and white lights.   You just have to plug the top and the bottom in separately.

On the news, big arguments about whether to mandate vaccinations or or not, and that the Jordanian pilot who was captured by ISIS was not only killed but burned alive.  Of course these people aren't "terrorists".  They're "Freedom Fighters", or perhaps just misguided and need more love.   smiley82

Have a Good Day.

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/03/2015 11:13 PM)

Since I found several tags that went well with this border I am reusing it so I can use those tags, lol.  Sorry I did not come in last night, I just was tired and not feeling like chatting.
I had my appt with Denise the NP who is the diabetic educator.  She said I am doing everything right but we are just going to tweak some things.  No sliding insulin yet and for that I am happy.  I need to add protein to my diet.  Add to my breakfast and to any snacks I have.  So she gave me many suggestions on that.  Keep using the Levemir 20 units in AM but adding 5 units at suppertime.  Of course I forgot.  Also added another pill (free samples, yay) that will help my body to utilize it's own insulin better.  Doubled my Niacin since my triglycerides are so high, mostly due to the blood sugars being out of control. I update her in 2 weeks on my blood sugars.  Then we will do labs in 4 weeks and I will see her again after that.  While I was there I had my INR drawn.  They called me this morning.  I am back up over 3 again.  They may be changing me from 3mg pills to another size so that they have more leeway for adjusting it.  So staying the same for now and recheck in 2-3 weeks.
Payed the bills and balanced my checkbook today.  All is well there.  No money left, but that is nothing new.  Found out my insurance jumped from $42 a month to $66 a month.  And my O2/Cpap bill went from $60 to $100 because they finally got some stuff from insurance and could bill.  My nebulizer is so loud and I do not think works so well, but I will be damned if I am adding anything else into this.  I am going to check into the cost of them outright.  At least in another 5 months I think the insurance will have bought the Cpap and I will only have to pay for replacement supplies.  I may find those cheaper on line too.  I am seeing that my mail order pharmacy also carries my levemir flex pen and needles so once we get that regulated I can start getting it from them.  I thought the half time show for the Super bowl was pretty good.  I am so so on Katy Perry but really enjoyed her.  Also Lenny Cravitz and Missy Elliot.  She rode in on an a robotic lion.  She flew around the stadium.  You must have seen the beach scene which was very colorful with dancing sharks that were pretty funny.  There was a live chess set...a lot to see, and it went really fast.  There are some great pictures here:
http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/02/katy-perry-halftime-show-review-super-bowl
I know that immunization has been a big issue lately due to the measles outbreak.  I know it is not always a popular stance, but I believe that immunization should be mandatory.  Before you know it we will have Polio and the Plague coming back into existence.
I saw the new about them burning that pilot alive.  I think they are just looking for ways to kill that will horrify us all and it is working.  I think the whole world needs to step in and annihilate ISIS and all like terrorists.  Wipe them off the face of the earth.  I mean honestly, would anyone really object?  I would give them love by ending their worthless lives and putting them out of their misery.  How many more countries have to have people tortured and murdered?  Bombings and so much more and innocent people and particularly children murdered.  I think something needs to be done soon, how long can everyone just stand by.  I cannot deal with it...I get very anxious.  That is great, donating your tree.  Now lets hope the company comes through with your new one.  I have never seen a company take so long to take care of a problem like this.  If they are so high and mighty in the tree business, they should be more protective of their reputation.  Well, time to get a snack and take my pills.  Chat with you tomorrow.
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/04/2015 12:53 PM)

OH yeah!  We got snow!   Yesterday it was 61 degrees and the snow was melted.  Today it's 25 and it's been snowing since I got up.

I guess there isn't much to say about all the horrific stories in the news today.  One awful story after another.

Your post is beautiful again today ~ not that it isn't always, but I particularly love that border and the tags you have chosen to go with it are purrrfect.

Good news about the Sliding Insulin, not so good about the INR.
Sorry about your medical bills going up.   Our dental insurance did too ~ from $15 to $64 a month!  Last year Mike had an retirement medical expense  account that a large portion was paid from, and this year he doesn't.   It actually sounds like he shouldn't have had it last year, so I guess we'd best not complain, but that's sure a big bump up in our budget.

I can actually understand both sides of the vaccination issue.  As a Conservative I believe in individual rights, but as a person with a modicum of common sense . . . .    Of course they are only talking about the children of mostly rich people who aren't getting their kids vaccinated, but they never mention the hordes of illegal alien kids pouring over the borders from countries that don't immunize and their effects on the schools.   I guess it's "Racist" to mention that.   Isn't everything?    Anyway, while I don't know for sure, I certainly believe that I didn't have a choice about being vaccinated when I was a kid ~~ and that's why most of these diseases had been eradicated, don't you think?  We seem to be moving backwards.

I am so 'with you' on what needs to be done to ISIS!  We need to identify them as our enemy so we CAN fight them, and soon before things like that start happening here.   I guess they already have a little bit.  I think we should send them all on their way to collect their 72 'virgins' ~~ the filthy pedophiles.   It will be interesting to see what the moderate Muslims do.  They haven't done much yet, and many, many Muslims have been killed in horrific ways.

The Christmas tree replacement is out of stock.  Apparently it is a very popular model.   Balsam Hills has us on a list and has assured us a new tree as soon as they come in.   I HOPE!

^-^
Make it a good day!

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/04/2015 7:07 PM)

Yep, I have another tag that goes well. lol.  In fact I have 1 maybe 2 more and I did not look through all my tags.  Remember when we would have themes or holidays and we would post lots of our tags under them.  I would like to start that again so that we can see each others tags.  Some never get used, lol.  I am going to start a thread, you can look and join in if you like or not, lol.  It is up to you.
I am the MOTM in a small group I am in and do not expect to get very many.  Normally there are 4 weekly challenges and you make them for the MOTM, but the owner is having a bad month with more on her plate than she can handle.  Nice time to be the MOTM, huh?  LOL  I told her I would be more than willing to post some challenges for her.  We will see.
We got snow again too.  Chris and Scott are not doing a good job of keeping the sidewalks cleared.  The heavy snow we got Sunday night into Monday was still unshovelled yesterday.  Mom knocked and told them that after 24 hours the city can step in and shovel and charge the landlord a ton for it.  Scott said he was going out then.  Now Scott works, but Chris is not right now and there is no reason she is not out there doing it.
Now again today mom saw Scott and he was on way out again (he drives a taxi) but said he would get Chris on it.  She still has not done it.  I do not know what is up with that.
She made meatloaf the other days and brought us over a couple slices of it.  It was so tasteless it was a waste of calories, lol.  Maybe too much bread crumbs or something but it was very bland and did not even taste like beef.  It had a nice consistency but was pale looking.  Oh well, not everyone likes things the same way.  The cake is good, we really like it.  But it definitely needs some cool whip or something to top it off.  We did eat it just the way it was.  This one is so easy.  You just mix one angel food cake mix with one can of crushed pineapple with the juice and stir with spoon.  Pour in greased pan and bake at 350 for 1/2 hour.  So easy.
Blood sugars are already looking better.  I should have seen Denise sooner.  I actually had a 114 which is in the normal zone. She said it will take a little while for all the changes to effect my sugars but I am already seeing them.  Have been adding the protein like she said too and that is probably part of it too.
I am for individual rights too, but when it comes to disease then I am for mandatory immunization.  We may see other diseases reappearing.  Don't want that.  That illegal aliens is a big part of it. They come here from countries that do not vaccinate.  I think that is probably the main cause of the reappearance of measles and God knows what else.
Yes, I wish all the countries that are dealing with these terrorists get together, work out a plan that all assist in and rid the planet of these pure evil creatures.  There is no place in this world for them other than hell.
Chat with you tomorrow.

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/05/2015 11:46 AM)

Good Morning!
I slept until 7:30 today, and haven't done anything worth mentioning since I woke up!  I'm kind of enjoying it ~ lol.
Another warm day (low 60s) and the snow on the walk and driveway has already melted.  Tomorrow morning Marcela comes so I won't be in until later.

I did see your Valentine thread, and I will add  to it.  As you say, we have so many great tags that never get used.

Every Tuesday the BAMA group has "Tuesday Choose Day" where they select a different member and make gifts for them based on choices you have previously listed.  This last Tuesday they chose me and I got a dozen new tags.   Fun!!   That's actually the second time I've been "chosen" which is pretty good because it's a very large group.

I hope Chris and Scott step up ~ or are made to step up.  The issue between the city and the landlord is something he will have to deal with, but i worry about you or your mom slipping and falling.

It's funny how many different meat loaf recipes are out there.  Mike used to hate Meat loaf, but he loves mine and asks me to make it often.  It's a very simple Betty Crocker recipe that i've made for 100 years or so, but with a glaze of mustard, catsup and brown sugar.   His sister would hate it but he loves it and so do I.

I'm glad to know that cake recipe is good.  It looks wonderful, but I remember someone writing online that it wasn't good.   How wonderfully easy, and with those two flavors combined it sure sounds good.  Is it dry, and that's why you want the whipped cream topping?

Hooray that your blood sugars are getting better!

We are on the same page regarding vaccinations, and illegal alien's rights trumping ours AND the ISIS Pond Scum.

Have a GREAT day!

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/06/2015 12:39 PM)

You accidentally posted this in the January thread, so I moved it over.

Well, mom decided that she was not fooling around anymore with the shoveling so this morning she called Bud...our landlord and talked to him about it.  He said he would be over in about an hour.  Right after that Chris went out and shovelled.  When he came we found out that he called her and asked if there was a reason that the sidewalks were not shovelled yet and she told him she was going right out.  I think he laid down the law with her as they take money off their rent for doing the shovelling.
My mom also makes a catsup, mustard and brown sugar topping.  Chris's meatloaf would have been helped greatly by it,  At least there would have been flavor then.
The cake is a little dry, but that may have to do with mom using diced pineapple instead of crushed, which it calls for.  She also over cooked it a little bit.  Not to bad though.  I liked it a lot.
I think that something is going to happen soon when it comes to the terrorists.  I saw where a news journalist from the victims country called for them to start retaliating to them with their own tactics.  Let's kill their women, let's kill their children.  Show them no mercy.  I think that is almost as scary as the terrorists.  I just want it to be over with.  STOP KILLING!!!  I know that it is not popular but I believe in the death penalty and anyone that deliberately kills another with malice should be put to death.  I know that does not apply to war, but it should when they are doing the atrocities that these terrorists are.  I have to let this go, I know that they will be made to answer for their crimes someday.
Looks like mom will claim her bet winnings for tomorrow night, but has not decided from where yet.  Has to be somewhere that delivers.  I am going to check out a new place that is attached to Family Video.  They deliver and will deliver a movie too.  Might be fun if they have something mom would like.  Going to check that out next.
Glad you slept so well, hope you do tonight too!
Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/06/2015 1:02 PM)

Good Morning!

Marcela and Ramana just left and the house is nice and clean ~ for a few minutes.  We're going to be in the higher 60s, and good warm weather until maybe next Wednesday.  Ahhhhh.

Good for your mom calling the landlord about the snow shoveling.  If they are getting a discount on their rent, they should darn well earn it!  Someone could get hurt ~ and if they did they could sue the landlord who thinks he has it all covered.

I'm looking forward to making that pineapple angel food cake, as soon as i get down a ton or so.   I don't expect to ever attain my "ideal weight".  I haven't seen that since i was in my 20s.  Ha.  I'd just like to get a bit healthier and more comfortable.

Like you I can't get behind killing ISIS women and children ~ unless they too are terrorists.  Those poor children!   I can surely agree to putting the terrorist themselves out of their misery. I'm really sick of those making excuses for them and thinking if we just kumbaya'd with them all would be well.  Remember Cujo.  Even though it wasn't his fault he was rabid, he was rabid.  No matter how sorry I felt for him, there was no option but to put him out of his misery before he harmed others.

We know what they have done recently to the hostages they've held.   We don't hear so much about what they have done to the Christians in Syria and Iraq.  Killing thousands in terrible, unimaginable ways.   When you think that they behead, crucify and bury alive CHILDREN, can there be any reason for them to continue to draw breath?   I think not!    What about those little boys who were shot for the terrible offence of ~~~~ watching a soccer game!   These are sick, evil people and they need to be exterminated.

I agree with you btw about the death penalty.  I want to be sure the person is guilty, but in many cases I think the death penalty is the right solution.  I don't think leaving them on death row for 30 years and then executing them is right.  They aren't even the same people.  Be sure they've done the crime, and then ge on with it!

On a happier note, I hope your mom's winning celebration was yummy!

Thank you for the tag!

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/06/2015 11:36 PM)

Ahhhhhh, a clean house, always feels so good.

But it never lasts long sadly. :(

Mom putzed and putzed about where we would order from.

When she said I have a gift card for Culvers, but we would

have to see if Suz could pic it up for us.  So I texted Suz

and she said sure.  She was picking up Jordan at 5 pm and

would go then.  So they stopped and got our order and off

they went.  She was supposed to call with the flavor of the

day.  So the phone rang and mom answered and it was not

good.  They got into an accident.  Traffic was moving a bit

fast on the over pass and a cop was coming up aside them.

The car in front of her hit their breaks to slow way down

and Suz back ended it and then the bar behind her back

ended her.  She thinks the vehicle is totalled.  She and

Jordan were alright thank God.  She was waiting for a tow

truck and then did not know how they would get home.  We

suggested calling one of our sisters or I suggested Brent

as I did not think she would have been too far from where

he lives.  But she said no.  So we were upset since she was

running for us.  When she finally got ahold of her husband

at work he blew a gasket and hung up on her.  Jeez, it was

an accident.  Not like she asked for it to happen.  Just

they really have nothing but bad luck.  I wish they would

get his moms estate settled as they will all get some money

there, but no clue how much.  Her house will have to be

sold and make sure all bills are settled.  I hope it will help

them get back on their feet.  Mom was hoping to get some

of that money, but now that probably won't happen.  She

says the radiator is smashed.  I know nothing, so do not

know if that is fixable or not.

So then it was getting late and we had nothing thawed for

supper so we ended up ordering from Jimmy Johns.  So I

told mom I still owe her a delivery meal as we used her

gift card on file with them.

I did not hear about the boys who were watching a soccer

game being killed.  What the hell was wrong with that?? Is

there such a things as mass insanity?  These men are just

evil incarnate.  What more is it going to take to make the

world take action.  I think some are afraid what kind of

war this might turn into.  Do you ever think about

Nostradamus?  His predictions about war and evil from

the middle east?  Scary.

Anyhow, hope you have a wonderful weekend.  We have no

plans, we rarely do, lol.  Mom did call and ask Diane to take

her grocery shopping tomorrow since Suz will be out of

commission.  Our laundry has not been done in 2 weeks

either, but I am sure she will have no time for that.  She

is always so busy. Ah well.  She you tomorrow.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/07/2015 11:38 AM)

Good Morning

Another bright, bright sunshiney day here.  Yesterday we broke a record set in 1944 (67 degrees) by reaching 72!  Should be in the low 70s again today.  It's already 64!

Mike made walleye for dinner last night.  He had sent for several pounds of frozen, and I see several more walleye dinners in my future.  Growing up in Minnesota, there were many in my past ~ lol.  Mike had never had it until one time we visited my Aunt Jean in Rochester and she took us to a restaurant that served it (which stopping to think about it could have been ANY restaurant in Rochester).  It was love at first bite for Mike and he's been craving it ever since.  Occasionally we can get it here, but I understand the Canadians for a while had taken all the US supplies, or at least most of them.  Of course my relatives in MN and WI just drop a line into the lake  when they want some.      He also made tartar sauce from scratch and it was delicious.  I'd never made it, but I don't think we'll be buying it again.

It does feel good to have the house clean.  If it weren't for the cats it wouldn't get all that dirty in between cleaning times even though we don't do a lot of cleaning, but it certainly looks and feels a lot fresher after they leave.  I'm kind of liking having Marcela bring Ramana (sp?) to help her clean.  Marcela is great with some things but she does tend to leave streaks.  Ramana doesn't.  Working together they were here and gone in an hour and 15 minutes, which would translate to 2.5 hours for Marcela working alone.  Kind of nice to have it done so quickly too.  I miss visiting more with Marcela, and I'm hesitant to ask for extra things ~ but I still do sometimes.

OhMyGosh, Poor Suz!  Thank God they were both ok, but I can imagine how hard dealing with the expense of fixing the car, if it can be fixed, or getting a new one will be.  It would for any of us, but I know they have had more than their "fair share" of challenges lately.  I'm so sorry.   I know how bad you and your mom must feel because they were running an errand for you, even though of course it was in no way your fault!  We can't help feeling guilty, can we.

I can imagine her husband having an immediate reaction of being overwhelmed with one more expense to have to deal with, and likely a major one.  I can't imagine why his first reaction wasn't relief and gratitude that his family was ok.  I'f the accident had happened because she was drunk driving or texting or something clearly her fault, maybe anger as his second reaction, but it was an ACCIDENT.  I'd be more than a little annoyed with him.

This is a link to the information about the boys executed for watching Soccer on TV.  Those who make excuses and want to just 'get along' with ISIS should spend a minute thinking of how much they would "enjoy" living under Sharia law.

http://nypost.com/2015/01/19/isis-executes-13-teens-for-watching-soccer/

I haven't read the predictions of Nostradamus in years and years.  I'm not sure I want to.  Mike is watching a series called Foyle's War, which takes place at the start of WWII.  It seems dated ~~ until you think that just with newer technology, this could be happening here tomorrow.  I'm sitting here wondering what to watch on TV and a bit concerned about upcoming Dr appts, while out there, those monsters from hell are planning the destruction of my country, and in fact my world.  If our leaders don't step up, and SOON, they just might accomplish it.

Getting harder to think happy, innocent thoughts all the time.

Ah well. Let's try.  Thank you for the darling tag!

RE:WELCOME TO FEBRUARY CHAT
(Date Posted:02/08/2015 3:40 PM)

Hello Dorothy. Sorry that I did not make it in yesterday. Time just seems to get away from me all the time. The day seems to fly by. My blood sugars are coming down for the most part. My trouble spot is between breakfast and lunch and I think that is because it is often only 3 hours apart, so it has not come down as far as it would if the period was longer. I actually had an 87 at suppertime a couple days ago, so am on the right path. Will check my weight tomorrow to see how that is going.

The new tenant in the upper back apt is terribly noisy. !:30-2:00 in the morning a child is running around up there and they are dragging furniture.  Really loud in the bathroom/kitchen and in my bedroom.  Twice now when I was almost asleep they have woke me up. The landlord is supposed to be here tomorrow to work on shelving in the basement and we will talk to him about it.  We have no phone number for her or we would call.  Someone came to our door at 11 pm a few days ago looking for that tenant with a food deliver and last night someone was at the door at 2 am for up there (not food this time).  Mom told them where to go and closed the door and hears them knock on Chris and Scott's door so mom yelled "I said around the west side of the house and up the stairs".  Idiot!!!!  She did not say that last word, lol, I did.  So it is pretty annoying.

Nothing going on this week and I have no where I have to be. I do not know if mom does or not. No one has done out laundry in 2 weeks. So I hope mom is not planning on going down there but am sure she is.  If the Bud will be here tomorrow and Chris says she is going to help him in the basement, I can at least get one of them to carry the laundry down and up.  We have at least 2 loads.

Jerry says the car can be fixed. He has to replace front and back bumpers and will look for them in junkyards. He figures be can do it himself and for just under $300. I hope he can. He was heated at first but then calmed down and could talk about it sensibly. He has a bad temper...they all do and seem to jump right into yelling at each other without trying to just talk things out.  They all yell way too much. I would like to see all of them in anger management. Now that Jordan is out of jail and Travis has moved back home (the couple he was living with are getting a divorce) they are back to being broke all the time. She needs to quit buying whatever those boys want for them.  She should be getting generic sofa, chips, etc. Or they could go without.  She really has to stop enabling them. Sadly, I do not see that happening anytime soon.

Chat with you tomorrow.

Hugs,
