RE:WELCOME TO AUGUST CHAT
(Date Posted:08/03/2016 10:14 PM)

Good Morning.   Welcome to August.

I see this is National "Admit you are happy" month!  I love that!  I will come right out and admit it ~~

I am Happy!  Hooray!

Yesterday I planned a lazy do nothing day, but as the saying

goes about the best laid plans of mice and men ~~ that didn't

happen.  I got my shower and my hair did look somewhat

better, if not anywhere close to "good".  I was all comfy in my

sweat suit, had breakfast and had signed in, and then I got a

note from our neighbor Sue.  She was going to the big

Scrapbook Store in Louisville after she got back from church

and lunch with her husband.  Would I like to come along?   She

assured me they had places to sit if I had problems, so I

thought about it for about two seconds and said sure.  I admit

I was a bit concerned because she has told me how B-I-G this

place is, and she wasn't kidding!

Discovery ~~ if I push a shopping cart whether or not I intend

to use it, it's as good as using a walker!  Yay!  I did have to

find a chair for about five minutes twice, but I don't think

 that was bad at all.

Oh my goodness ~ you can't even imagine all the Stuff!  I didn't

even know what half of it was for ~ lol.  I hadn't been

shopping with another woman for ages, and I had a wonderful

time, and was back home three hours later.

I gave Sue back all the things she had loaned me, plus some

pictures I'd printed of the dies that I own, in case she can use

them.  She did say she'd like to borrow some of my embossing

folders.  She really likes the card I made with the embossed

butterflies and the die cut butterflies on top.  That, of course

 made me feel good.

As you know, I don't do a whole lot that doesn't involve sitting,

so by the time I was home and back in my chair, I could hardly

keep my eyes open!  I know I slept through half of the movie

we put on after dinner and when Mike woke me to go to bed, it

 made me mad! LOL!

As Shiela has often pointed out, possibly the reason we don't

sleep well is that we aren't active enough.  I slept like the

dead until about 4:30 this morning.  Ahhh.  I wish I'd slept a

bit later, but I did get a good night especially if you include

the  sleeping in the chairs I did earlier ~~ lol

You aren't here so that could mean that either you still aren't

able to get an Internet connection, or that you are really

busy making up for being off line.  Fingers crossed that things

return to normal soon!   How did you post in Facebook after

you lost your Internet?

Barb left for Niger this morning, and I posted her latest update

in a separate thread.

Have a wonderful day ~ and admit you are happy!

Yo-Ho! ~ A Pirate's Life for Me ~

Aarrgghh ~ ye now Matey!

It isn't worth saying "We're heading for

the low 90's again today.  Just assume

that is so every day until I tell you

 differently.

I think I may have been bitten by a

tsetse fly!  Yesterday after a good

night's sleep (and a lot of sleep during

the previous afternoon!), I got up

feeling good, signed in, and then fell

into a hard sleep.  When I woke, I

moved to the Morning Room, and

within half an hour did the same ~ and

slept off and on until mid afternoon!

Not just a snooze, but a deep

 practically coma-like sleep!  I slept

well again last night until 4:45 AM, and

so far I am managing to stay awake.

  Shoo Fly!

Since I slept most of the day, I

 accomplished nothing.  We'll see what

 today brings.

RE:WELCOME TO AUGUST CHAT
(Date Posted:08/03/2016 10:16 PM)

It's hump day and another sun filled day heading for 95.  We did get some rain yesterday afternoon, which was nice, but I don't think we'll get any today.

I'm torn between not posting so you won't have to spend days reading all of my stuff when you are back online, and wanting to go ahead and talk to you ~~ and of course allow you the pleasure of reading all of my prattle.  LOL

Barb in the other group said she knew of several who had problems after installing Win 10 too.  They didn't lose their Internet, but had to reconfigure their systems a couple of times, which sounds like a MAJOR pain!   I hope you can find someone who can help you, and soon!

Yesterday I fell asleep for about half an hour in the afternoon, but that was IT!  I felt great all day ~ for a major change.  Then around 2:30 this morning I needed to get up and go to the bathroom, but instead I just laid there and "talked" to myself for an hour.  By the time I finally got up, I was wide awake!  Why do I do that to myself?!  I'm so mad at me.  I don't feel like I got any sleep at all after that, although I'm sure I probably did.  Grumble.

Talking about cards (we WERE?  lol), Sue told me about a product called Un-Do which I bought when we were out shopping.  I used it yesterday and was absolutely blown away by it.   It's similar to the Goo Gone we all use to remove stickers and sticky stuff, but it's geared to crafting.

In the past I have pasted one piece of card stock or embellishment on another piece of card stock and got it wrong, crooked or whatever, and been unable to separate them without separating large parts of one or both of the papers and leaving an unusable mess.

I had glued a piece of embellished card stock to a white card, thinking I would love it ~ and I didn't!  I thought I would have to throw both pieces away, but with the Un-Do, I was able to use a scoop at the end of the bottle and gently separate two papers without damaging either.  Remarkable.  The embellished piece still was sticky on the back and I didn't even have to re-glue it!

I put it on a red card and added some of those little birds I had cut using Sue's dies and vee-oh-la ~~

I need to add a sentiment at the bottom and inside, but it's ready to receive them when I figure out what I want to say!

Ok, that was the high point of my day ~ besides staying awake.  lol   Now we'll see if I can stay awake TODAY after being awake so much last night.  Grrrr.

Have a Happy Hump Day.

RE:WELCOME TO AUGUST CHAT
(Date Posted:08/03/2016 11:00 PM)

Here I am, coming to you from the dinosaur in the back room.
This thing is so slow, I may be here till tomorrow posting.
I made a quick page for our month out of an old page and copy and
pasting info to the page. I do not like the size of this keyboard,
or maybe my fat fingers are just out of practice.
I love the shopping trip you took.  You never said, did you fill your cart with goodies?  That card with the embossed trees is so very professional.
I have seen nearly the exact thing as a Christmas Card.  I love it.
I really do not think I would put any verse on the outside.  I love how pristine it is.  When I talked about embossing it was not that at all.
We had powders in colors of choice.  You would use and embossing pen
to either write on card or color over stamp and then stamp it on card.  Then sprinkle the powder over it then tap the left over back into the container.  Then use the heat tool to heat it up.  The color would appear
and it would puff up and was shiny so that area looked like it was embossed.  I loved using it.
I have given up.  I have so many issues with the computer.  I went to Amazon to get a disc of Win 7 and saw a disc that repairs and reloads.
Reading the reviews a person said they had Win 10 download and totally screwed up her computer and she too could not go back to Win 7.  She took it to the geek squad who told her Win 10 had deleted things she needed in order to go back.  They recommended that she get this disk.  Where it did not fix her problem, she was able to completely reload
her Win 7 then run CC Cleaner to remove all the Win 10 stuff.  Isn't it
funny that it is one of the programs that Win 10 completely removed from my computer.  That and SpyBot.  So I have ordered it and will do as she did and pray for the best.
Friday is the eye doctor and hopefully a prescription for new glasses.
Say a little prayer that no new problems surface.
Here is a tag I made for you.  I put it on a flash drive then plugged it in here so I could share.
Thank you for continuing to write me.  I read it all.  Tomorrow I will try
to catch up on Barb and maybe get a new skin made.
Tata for now.
XOXOXO
Lou Ann

RE:WELCOME TO AUGUST CHAT
(Date Posted:08/04/2016 8:19 AM)

Good Morning!  Time for coffee and a visit.

smiley23

You really freaked me out!   The very pretty new August page wasn't "stuck" so I just went into the July page ~ and I had nothing posted during August!  I was SURE I had posted every day ~ Panic!   LOL.  Then I saw (and stuck) your new August page, and there I was again ~ I hadn't gone crazy after all.

Lovely to see you back, even if it is from the dinosaur.    It's friendship day!

I'm so glad you like my card!  I fell in love with that embossing folder the first time I saw it.  There are so many possibilities with it ~ I'm sure you will see it again.   You would love how easy it is to make something look really "fancy" with the embossing folders.   I haven't done any of the "real" embossing like you speak of yet, but I am anxious to do it.  So very pretty!  I haven't bought any of the powders or the heat tool yet, so I'll continue to work on the things I can do now and try to become more proficient before graduating to what I think of as "real" embossing.   Of course my embossing folders are real too.  lol

I am soooo glad I didn't go to Win 10!  They promise you can go back, but obviously not!  Since we are on Win 7 and that's two versions back, that may be the problem.  Maybe you can easily go back to Win 9, but I didn't want to go on 8 or 9 either.  Everyone complains about all the advertising that you can't get rid of on Win 10, and how long it takes to download all that crap.  Mike hasn't had any problems, but he hates the advertising.  I suspect that is their primary reason for creating Win 10 ~ not for US but for the Advertisers!  Grrr.   I keep getting messages from sites I visit asking me to remove my Ad blocker.   I have SpyBot, too, and want to keep it.  So there!   What a pain in the tush this is for you!

I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you to have a good appointment with the eye Dr.  Are things at all better?

What a beautiful tag!  Thank you!!

We got some rain last night, and we're only supposed to reach 81 today with the chance for some more rain.  Ahhhh.

I would have slept well last night except for getting up 63 times to go to the bathroom!  I'd better weigh this morning.  Ha!   I'm propped up in bed visiting with you, visions of coffee dancing in my head and shogun still fast asleep under the covers.

IT IS RAINING HERE TODAY.  MAYBE EVEN STORMS IF I AM LUCKY  IT HAS DROPPED FROM 88 TO 72 SO SOMETHING IS STIRRING UP.  BUT THEY ALL JUST SEEM TO PASS US BY.  I WOULD LOVE A GOOD STORM TO READ BY.

I FINISHED READING HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD.  A SCREEN PLAY BY JK ROWLING'S  AND OTHERS.  VERY ODD TO GET INTO THAT TYPE OF READING OR TO HAVE IT BEING DONE ON A STAGE.  THERE WERE ASPECTS OF IT I LOVED AND OTHERS THAT SEEMED WRONG.  BUT IT WAS FUN.  NOT UP TO PAR  OF HER BOOKS, BUT THERE IS ONLY SO MUCH YOU CAN DO ON A STAGE.  THE BOOKS ARE FAR MORE DESCRIPTIVE.  STILL, I LIKED IT.  TRYING SO HARD NOT TO SAY MORE IN CASE YOU READ IT :)

VERY CUTE TAG YOU USED.  BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PRETEND IT WAS HOT CHOCOLATE. :D

I HAVE TO TELL YOU ABOUT MY ORDER FROM AMAZON YESTERDAY.  I ORDERED THE DISC TO FIX MY COMPUTER AND SOME THINGS FOR MY MOMS BIRTHDAY.  I MADE SURE EVERYTHING WAS AMAZON PRIME FOR THE 2 DAY SHIPPING.  THEN AT CHECK OUT IT HAD EVERYTHING COMING ON THE 9TH.  I HAD TO ORDER BUT THEN I WROTE THEM QUITE THE EMAIL AND AM WAITING TO HEAR WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY,.  THE 21 DAY SHIPPING IS ONE OF THE BIG SELLING POINTS FOR PRIME.  I WAS SO UPSET AND THEN ANGRY AND THAT ANGER HAS GROWN.

I just checked my email and here is there reply.

Message From Customer Service
HI Lou,

Thank you for being such a wonderful Prime member, also I appreciate your patience in regards with your Order Id: 111-5337226-9449051. This is certainly not what we want our valued customers to experience. I'll check and sort this for you.

Upon checking your order details, I see that this was placed on August 3, 2016 with Two Day shipping.

Due to the volume of packages we ship each day, it's impossible to locate and pull out a single package once an order has entered the shipping process. We are therefore unable to make any changes to an order after this point. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

However, upon checking, I see that your order has entered the shipping process and is currently being packed for delivery.  Your package should be leaving our fulfillment center shortly; as soon as it has, we'll send you a confirmation e-mail.

To compensate for this inconvenience, I've issued a $5.00 promotional certificate to your Amazon.com account, which will automatically apply the next time you order an eligible item sold and shipped by Amazon.com. The promotional certificate doesn't apply to items offered by other sellers on the Amazon.com website and won't cover the purchase of gift cards, sales tax, gift wrap, or additional shipping costs.

Your promotional balance doesn't appear in Your Account, but will always display at checkout when you place an order through the Shopping Cart for an eligible item shipped and sold by Amazon.

We will keep you posted once the item has shipped. I really appreciate your patience and understanding in this situation.

We value your business and look forward to serving you as a valued customer.

We'd appreciate your feedback. Please use the links below to tell us about your experience today.

Best regards,
Gary

LOOKS AS IF THE ITEMS MIGHT BE HERE BY SAT AT THE LATEST AND THAT IS WHEN WE ARE CELEBRATING HER BIRTHDAY.  I AM THINKING THAT THEY ARE LISTING THOSE LATER DAYS TO COVER THINGS THAT DO NOT ARRIVE ON TIME.  THEY WILL START SAYING ONCE THINGS ARE PACKED THEY WILL ARRIVE WITHIN TWO DAYS.  IF ALL COMES IN TIME AND I GET A $5 CREDIT THEN I WILL BE HAPPY.  BUT I FEEL THAT THE TWO DAY SHIPPING IS PART OF THE PRIME GUARANTEE AND THAT IS FROM ORDER TIME NOT SEARCH AND PACK TIME.  OK, ENOUGH COMPLAINING FROM ME. NOW TO SEE WHAT OLD TAGS I CAN FIND ON THIS COMPUTER.

TATA FOR NOW

RE:WELCOME TO AUGUST CHAT
(Date Posted:08/05/2016 6:36 PM)

TODAY WAS A HORRIBLE DAY.  WOKE AROUND 6 WITH HORRIBLE STOMACH CRAMPS'  HEADED FOR

THE BATHROOM AND THERE I SAT FOR A COUPLE HOURS.  YOU KNOW I TOLD YOU I HAVE BEEN

HAVING BOWEL ISSUES.  I DRANK HOT WATER AND I WENT A VERY SMALL AMOUNT.  BUT THE

CRAMPS DID EASE A BIT BUT WERE NOT GONE.  I HAD TO MAKE A DECISION ABOUT MY APPT.  I

HAD TO DECIDE TO RESCHEDULE IT  THE SOONEST DATE SHE COULD GIVE ME WAS LATE OCTOBER.

I BEGGED, DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING SOONER,  HAVE ALREADY BEEN WITHOUT GLASSES FOR MORE

THAN 2 MONTHS.  SHE SAID SHE WOULD TALK TO THE TECHS AND SEE IF THEY COULD FIND

SOMETHING.  IT WAS AFTER NINE AND I TOLD MOM I WAS GOING TO SEE IF I COULD SLEEP..  I

DID,I SLEPT TIL NOON.  DIANE WAS BRINGING CHINESE FOR LUNCH FOR MOMS BIRTHDAY AND I

HAD TO OPT OUT.  I HEATED UP SOME CHICKEN AND RICE.  THEN THE CRAMPS GOT BAA AGAIN, BUT

THIS TIME I WENT AND WENT.  I THINK I STILL HAVE TO GO BUT AT LEAST THE PAIN IS GONE,

THOUGH I DO NOT FEEL GREAT BY FAR.  WHEN I GOT UP MOM ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE EYE
\
DOCTORS OFFICE CALLED AND THEY GOT ME IN AUGUST 30 OR 31ST AT 7:45.  THANK GOD.

CHRIS CLEANED TODAY AND THE PLACE LOOKS GREAT.  I CLEANED UP THE KITCHEN AND DID THE

DISHES SO MOM WOULD NOT HAVE TO.  FOR SOME REASON HER ANKLE IS HURTING HER.  SHE

IS WEARING TEDS AS HER FEET AND LEGS ARE SWELLING.  SHE SEES HER DOCTOR NEXT WEEK.

WE ARE CELEBRATING HER BIRTHDAY TOMORROW AT JOANNE'S.  SUNDAY IS WEIDER REUNION

IN PORTAGE...I DO NOT GO.  BUT I AMD GETTING TOGETHER WITH MY FRIENDS ON SUN. SO I WILL

BE HAVING A GOOD TIME TOO.

TATA FOR NOW/ LOVE YOU!!

RE:WELCOME TO AUGUST CHAT
(Date Posted:08/06/2016 11:08 AM)

Good Morning!

I'm so sorry I didn't get in here yesterday.  I post in the other group first because there are more people to say hello to (4 of us ~ lol).  Then I copy the sharable parts and post here, except when I was finished there, Mike wanted to leave for the Grocery Store and wanted me to go with him, so I shut down thinking I would post here when I got back.

His pills ran out while he was shopping so he wasn't doing well.  Lesson learned.  He has to take those pills before he goes out, even if it is too early.  We got the groceries put away and got some lunch and other things, and I completely spaced that I hadn't posted here.

I thought about getting "Cursed Child".  I heard it was good, though I know reading a play isn't like reading a book.  Good to have your review.

I'm glad you contacted Amazon!   As I've told you, I've reached the point of irritation where I write almost every time they disappoint.  They usually extend my Prime membership by a month.  I think I had 7 or 8 extra months so far!   It seems to be the new pattern that when you order something that is Prime, you get the message that it will arrive in 5 or 6 days way too often.  I take Prime mostly for the quick shipping, and that is unacceptable.  I can always get free shipping because there are almost always things I can order to spend enough.  When they deny me the 2 day shipping, I feel cheated, and I let them know.  If we all just accept that, it will soon become the Norm.     Another thing is that they are beginning to charge for more and more movies.  Again, in time we will just accept that there are only a few free ones ~ I can see giving up my Prime membership one of these days.  Annoying.   Anyway, Good for you!!

I hope the things got there in time for your mom's celebration.

I'm so sorry you had a bad day!   I hope today is a whole lot better.   Good that you have a nice clean house for her Birthday!    I hope she has a great birthday and lots of fun at the reunion.

I'm off to a slow start today.   I have been taking and printing pictures of my stamps and dies and etc so I can keep them in a book like Sue does.  Then when I want to decide what to use, I don't have to have everything on my table, but can leave most of it in the library and just select what I want to use from my book and then go and get it.

I hope this will work well, but getting the images combined and printed is time consuming, and that's what I was doing instead of getting up and dressed this morning!

Are you getting bored with hearing me blather about my new hobby?

Yesterday was lovely, in the mid 70s with just a little rain, but overcast and a rather nice change from all the sun.  Today is supposed to be low 80s with a 20% chance of rain.  Purrrfect right now.

Did you watch the Olympics last night (or today)?   We didn't but I heard that NBC did a terrible job with commercials every few minutes so that people couldn't enjoy the Opening Ceremony.  I hate that when you want to watch some of the events and they cut away every time you start to watch.   We may not watch too much.

Franklin Graham had an article on FB about the Refugee team, and it was very interesting.  I am horrified about the legions of able bodied Syrian men we are importing and the horrible things that are happening in Europe as a direct result of their bringing the hordes in.  The countries neighboring Syria won't even take them!   I begin to close my mind to the possibility of any legitimate need, and the descriptions of the 10 (I think) people on the Refugee team helped me gain perspective.   And I'm still afraid of importing hordes ~ and none of them Christians who are the ones suffering the most terrible fates at the hands of these ISIS Monsters.   That said, it was good to read about the real human beings who are part of the refugee team.  I hope I can see them compete ~~ and cheer them on.

You will have a full day, and I hope you are feeling good enough to enjoy it.    Please wish your mom a Happy Birthday for me!

RE:WELCOME TO AUGUST CHAT
(Date Posted:08/07/2016 9:41 AM)

Good Morning.  Apparently we are going back into the heat today ~ heading for 88 degrees.  It sure doesn't look like that now ~ foggy out there.

I hope your mom had a great and very happy Birthday, and has lots of fun at the family reunion today.

I'm glad you are getting together with your friends and I hope you are feeling good and have a great time, too.

Nothing much on our agenda for today.  I want to make a birthday card for a friend (have I created a monster for myself??).  Then we need to drive the Chrysler today and tomorrow to be sure it is healthy when we take it in for the Emissions Test on Tuesday, so we can mail that and another card and a bill while we are out.  What a pain in the tush the emissions test is, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.  We don't drive the Chrysler as often as we should, and just sitting in the garage doesn't keep it "healthy".

Anyway, nothing exciting, but it should be a nice day anyway.  Have fun!

RE:WELCOME TO AUGUST CHAT
(Date Posted:08/08/2016 9:12 PM)

..I LOVE MY FUCKING POST AGAIN AND I AM TOO ANGRY TO HIDE MY WORDS.
I AM SO TIRED OF THIS.  I AM SO TIRED OF EVERYTHING. I WANT JUST SOMETHING TO GO RIGHT.  THE DISC GOT ME BACK TO 7 BUT STILL NO INTERNET.  I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO ANY MORE SO WILL HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT FIXED...IF IT CAN BE FIXED.  NOW MY I-PAD DOES NOT WANT TO CHARGE.  IT WILL ON MOMS BUT I NEED TO GET A CHARGER.
PARTY WAS FUN.  NOT IMPRESSED WITH JOSHES GIRLFRIEND AT ALL BUT GIRLS ARE CUTE AND MOSTLY LISTEN.
HAD A FINE TIME WITH NAN, LOUANN AND BRUCE.  FINISHED MR SELFRIDGE AND I CRIED.  A;SP UPSET THAT THEY WATCHED 3 EPISODES WITHOUT ME.  I SHOULD HAVE GONE AHEAD AND WATCHED SOME WHILE MY MOM WAS GONE...I WANTED TOO BUT DID NOT WANT TO DO THAT TO THEM.  BUT THEY DID IT TO ME.  AGAIN!!!
ALSO HAD SOME ALARMING NEWS.  RISSA'S HUSBAND MATT HAS BEEN FEELING ILL.  TIRED ALL THE TIME. RUNNING TEMPS OFF AND ON. HOT FLASHES SO THE DOCTOR THOUGHT HE HAD MONO.  NOPE, HIS SPLEEN IS ENLARGED AND HIS LYMPHNODES IN HIS GROIN ARE SWOLLEN.  THE DOCTOR HAS NO CLUE WHAT THIS COULD MEAN. SO PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM, HE IS OFF COACHING FOOTBALL AND HE CANOT TAKE ANY CHANCES OF GETTING HIT AS HIS SPLEEN COULD BURST.  HA CANNOT PICK UP OR PLAY WITH HIS SON AND NERISSA IS DUE IN 5 WEEKS.  PLEASE PRAY FOR MATT.
THEN STEVE AND GARY CALLED SO HAD THEM CALL BACK ON MAC DEVICE.
BRUCE SET HIS IPAD UP ABOVE THE TV WITH THE CAMERA FACING US AND PUT GARY AND STEVE ON THE TV.  IT WAS JUST LIKE THEY WERE WITH US.  A WHILE BACK STEVE'S ROUTINE FOLLOW UPS ON HIS BLADDER CANCER ONCE AGAIN SHOWED CANCEROUS CELLS, SO HE HAD THE BLADDER WASH AGAIN THAT HAS WORKED BEFORE BUT THIS TIME IT DID NOT AND THEY WERE NOT LESSENED IN THE LEAST.  THE DOCTOR SAID THEY ARE RUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS AND MAY HAVE TO REMOVE THE BLADDER AND STEVE WOULD HAVE A DRAINAGE BAG FOR HIS URINE.  BUT THE DOCTOR THINKS THERE ARE SEVERAL MORE THINGS POSSIBLE TO TRY...SOME SORT OF CHEMO AND SOME SORT OF TRIAL THAT IS GOING ON AT FROEDTERT THAT THEY THINK HE WOULD QUALIFY FOR.  REMOVING THE BLADDER IS THE LAST THING THEY WANT TO DO.  I WENT TO FROEDTERT FOR MY DEEP BONE CHEMO AND AGAIN FOR MY NONE MARROW TRANSPLANT.  IT IS A VERY GOOD HOSPITAL.  SO PLEASE PRAY FOR STEVE.  BOTH MATT AND STEVE ARE FAMILY.
I WILL NEVER GET SICK OF YOU TALKING ABOUT STAMPING.  I LIVE IT VICARIOUSLY THROUGH YOU.
XOXOXO

Good Morning

I was off to a bad start this morning.  For some reason, large parts of my Chrome just didn't work ~ no little "hand" would come up half the time so I couldn't open a link.  Then Mike played with it, said he didn't do anything or find the problem, but even so it started working.  I think he's a Wizard.   Anyway, I'm here now.

Yesterday was a really bad day for me.  I felt awful, my feet were so swollen that my shoes felt like they were cutting my feet.  Mike prayed for me every time he woke up during the night, and today I feel fine.  If he ever stops praying for me, I suspect I'm sunk.   All better today!

We are going to take the Chrysler for it's emissions test this morning ~ keep your fingers crossed for us.  This is such a serious pain in the tush.  I'm not convinced that it does any good for the local pollution, but it makes money for someone.   Maybe breakfast afterwards to make it better.

I still have only watched a few minutes of the Olympics, though I do catch up on our stars.  I felt so bad that Missy Franklin didn't make it in her event, and our men's gymnast, but others have done well.   USA! USA! USA!  I am watching the recaps right now.

Aarrgghh.  This changing text and spacing is driving me crazy!

I hate that everything is going ~~~ "less than great" for you right now.   We can handle a bad day or six, but some times it just seems like we are under attack, and you can feel so defeated.   This, too, will pass.  I am sure of it.  Hang in there.   Do you think there is someone you could go to that could get you back on line?   Any idea what that would cost?  Life is too short to be without Internet!  ;-)     Now your iPad.  I hope that is fixable too!   Will a new charger do it, do you think?

I'm glad the party was good but I do think they could have waited for you to watch Mr Selfridge with them.  Is there any way you can watch those episodes, maybe when your mom is out for a while?    We stopped watching it after the first several episodes of this season.  We weren't loving it and we knew what was coming, so we just stopped.  I'm glad you got to see most of it  if you enjoyed it.

How awful about Matt and Steve.  I will definitely pray for them!  I hate these 'dam' health issues more than anything.

I'm glad I'm not boring you out of your mind talking about and showing my stamping things.  It's so much more fun if you can share it ~ but I don't want you to cringe when you see me coming.  lol

Latest efforts ~~

Card for a friend's husband ~

The cut out card is from the May Paper Pumpkin kit. The rest is "me".

This for another friend who is turning 70 on my mom's birthday, August 16.  Her birthday is the easiest to remember ~ my mom's birthday and Mike's birthday year.    She has always thought it was fun that they were born in 1946 and graduated from High School in 1964.  ;-)

I was going to do something different, but when I started I found that my circle paper punch wasn't big enough and several other things wouldn't work, so I "punted".

I used the same inside message as the other card.

Well, I'd best get my buns in gear and get dressed so we can go for the darned emissions test.

Later, my Lovely.

Good Morning!

It got up to 97 yesterday (!), heading for 91 today.  We did get the Chrysler emissions checked and it passed with flying colors.  Now we wait until the site is updated and we can pay for the new License online, and they will send the new stickers to us.  Money, money, money, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.   After the test we went to the Egg and I for breakfast, so it was all in all a pleasant outing.

Nothing planned for today ~ how nice does THAT sound?

Again we didn't watch the Olympics, just the reruns, but WOW!   The women's gymnastic team was pure magic, and Michael Phelps ~ what can you say?   USA! USA! USA!

Have a great one!!

HERE I AM, SORRY TO HAVE MISSED A DAY.  THIS DINOSAUR ALMOST
DIED ON ME LAST NIGHT.  SO NOW I AM COMING HERE FIRST BEFORE IT GETS TOO TIRED TO MOVE.
HOT HERE AND THE HEAT INDEX IS MAKING IT WORSE.  THE NEXT FEW DAYS WILL NOT BE ANY BETTER, IN FACT THEY WILL PROBABLY BE WORSE AS THE HUMIDITY WILL RISE WITH THE PROBABILITY OF RAIN.  IT IS A GOOD THING THAT MOM SEEMS EFFECTED BY THE HEAT MORE NOW AND IS NOT SO RESISTANT TO AC.  SHE HAS IN FACT ASKED TO PUT IT ON A TIME OR TWO.  WHO IS THAT WOMAN MASQUERADING AS MY MOTHER?
THIS CHAIR BACK HERE KILLS ME BUT I AM NOT GOING TO TRY LUGGING ANYTHING ELSE BACK HERE.  I HAVE PUT A DONUT TYPE PILLOW ON IT AND STILL IT HURTS ME.  HAS TO BE SOMETHING ABOUT THE BUILD AND HOW MY LEGS HANG DOWN, ETC.  ENOUGH CRAP!
I AM GOING TO CALL KERMIT, MY PC GUY AND SEE IF HE CAN DO ANYTHING WITH IT?  ALSO WILL SEND ALONG THE KEYS THAT HAVE FALLEN OFF AND SEE IF HE CAN PUT THEM BACK ON, LOL.  AT LEAST THE P.  THE OTHERS ARE TOP ROW F KEYS THAT I NEVER USE.
GLAD THE CAR PASSED THE EMISSIONS TEST AND YOU HAVE ONE LESS THING TO WORRY ABOUT.  ALSO GLAD THAT MIKE PRAYED YOU INTO FEELING BETTER.  GET HIM TO PRAY FOR MATT (NERISSA'S HUBBY AND STEVE (GARY'S PARTNER)  I LOVE STEVE SO MUCH, HE FIT IN LIKE HE HAD ALWAYS BEEN A PART OF OUR GROUP.  WHAT I KNOW OF MATT I REALLY LIKE, BUT FOR THE HAPPINESS HE HAS BROUGHT MY BELOVED RISSA, I CAN LOVE HIM FOR THAT.  ALSO KIRSTIE'S HUBBY NICK, HAS AN ENLARGED LYMPH NODE IN HIS NECK.  CHECKED AND IS BENIGN, BUT IT BOTHERS HIM AND IT NEEDS TO COME OUT.  IT IS A BIT TRICKY AND HE COULD GET SOME TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT PARALYSIS.  MY SISTER DIANE'S BP HAS COME DOWN A BIT BUT NOT ENOUGH SO THEY DOUBLED THE MED.  SHE IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE THE SURGERY FRIDAY.  DO YOU THINK MIKE COULD TAKE ON ALL THAT.  MAYBE JUST ASK FOR HIM TO PRAY FOR MY LOVED ONES.  THAT WAY YOU GET THEM ALL AND YOU TOO!
THE CARDS ARE BEAUTIFUL.  THEY WILL DELIGHT THE RECEIVER.  HOW MANY STAMPS DO YOU HAVE FOR THE BACK OF THE CARDS?  THEY ARE TOO FUNNY.  I MEANT TO SAY I LIKED THE LITTLE ADDED SMILEY FACE YOU ADDED TO MINE.  I AM STILL ENJOYING IT.  I AM AMAZED HOW FAR STAMPING HAS COME.   I REALLY SHOULD BOX UP MY STUFF AND SEND IT TO YOU.  WONDER IF I HAVE A BIG ENOUGH BOX?  I WOULD NEED TO CLEAN MY ROOM AGAIN TO GET TO THEM AND TO FIND ALL THE STAMPS THAT ARE IN BINS TOO.  A CREATIVE MIND IS RARELY TIDY.  THAT IS MY STORY AND I AM STICKING TO IT.
I STILL HAVE NOT CALLED TO GET MY RECLINER FIXED EITHER.
PROCRASTINATION THEY NAME IS LOU ANN!!
WE HAVE NOT WATCHED ANY OF THE OLYMPICS.  I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO WATCH THE GYMNASTICS, BUT AM HAPPY OUR USA GIRLS TOOK THE GOLD.  GO USA USA USA GO!
WELL, ONE MORE THING BEFORE I CAN GET OFF THE FREAKING CHAIR SO AM SAYING GOOD BYE MY DARLING FRIEND.
XOXOXO

Good Morning!

Another sunshiney day here, I took the trash and recycles out yesterday and we are waiting for them to be picked up.  I think those are my highlights for today ~~ LOL.   Shauna comes tomorrow morning, so I'd best finish some of the things I've been doing in  Dorothy's Craft world, and fold up my table and roll my cart into the closet.

My neighbor Shari, who had originally recommended Madelyn to clean my house ~ she who didn't show up, before we got Shauna ~ called asking for recommendation for Shauna.   The thing I had greatly feared about Madelyn is definitely true.  Both my neighbor Annette and now Shari have become tired of not knowing if she will show up or not, and have switched or will switch to Shauna.  Pretty soon she will be doing our whole neighborhood!

My former hairdresser, Sharyl, is going for more surgery today, this time to reverse a colostomy that was done when she was fighting the flesh eating bacteria.  I had no idea.  She never tells the full story, just hits the highlights.  Unimaginable, what she has been through.  I didn't know about the colostomy but I surely hope this surgery successfully reverses it so she can have a near normal life again.  She is supposed to be in the hospital for five days.

And so it goes.

Your heat and humidity sound terrible.  My friend Judy in Omaha wrote that their heat index was 108.  Omaha is for some reason I don't understand, is one of the most humid places on earth.  So bitterly, penetratingly cold in the Winter, and so humid and terrible in the Summer.    I rarely put my nose out of the door, so the temps don't effect me very much, just on my quick dash to the mailbox, or from the car to a restaurant.

I have been "watching" the Olympics the same way you have ~ the repeats showing the results.   Then, of course, I wish I had watched the whole race or floor performance or whatever.   We really are doing great.  I had been concerned about what it would be like in Rio, with the filth and the crime, but it really all seems to be going well, and it really is beautiful there.

Oh gosh I hope you can get your laptop fixed, and soon!   I didn't realize you had missing keys too!  Is that on your Laptop, or on the Desktop?  Sounds like it's time for a new Laptop.  Just dip into "Petty Cash" (sad chuckle).

I feel your pain, sitting in an upright desk chair.  I've been having so much trouble with back pain lately, and I haven't had to sit "up straight".   The thought of doing so makes me shudder!   Now the recliner is broken, too?    You're gonna need a full time repairman!   I can also relate to that, at least somewhat.   My little bathroom vanity chair had a roller snap off last night and I nearly went sailing.  Mike was able to fix it for me, but I think we should look for a new one since my confidence is shaken.

Then the two new (brand new!) Lazy Boys we got for the Great Room?   First they didn't have enough padding so we had someone come out and add padding to the seat for us ~ under warranty.  Felt great for about two or three days, and then got flatter and flatter.   Admittedly we are both fat, but come ON!   They aren't really uncomfortable, but they slant toward the back and are low, so they are hard to get out of, particularly for Mike.   I bought some cushions for the seats that are a good three inches high ~ but that makes them sit differently so I need another pillow for my back.  These are brand new, not cheap chairs!   Aarrgghh.  I will say, with the higher seat they are easy to get out of, so I guess that's something.   (Whine)    Anyway, I can feel your pain!

I will ask Mike to pray for Steve and Matt, and of course I am praying for them, too.

Thanks for the nice words about my cards!  Mike says I should have more confidence about them.

Sending you good wishes for a happier back and a fixed PC and access!

Have an amazing day!
