RE:WELCOME TO APRIL CHAT
(Date Posted:04/16/2016 9:42 AM)

Good Morning ~

Winter has returned.  It was 73 on Thursday, and now it's snowing and we're expected to get a lot, mixed with rain.  United has cancelled ALL of it's flights into and out of DIA.  (An interesting aside ~ when they built DIA, the selling feature was that we would no longer have to experience snow delays.  Frederico Pena got himself a Cabinet job for his work on that ~ lol.  What a bunch of bull)    Some places may get 12 inches, but I don't think we will here.

I decided to cancel my hair appointment ~ I had already made a back-up appointment for Wednesday.  I could have gone, but it was beginning to look slick on the pavement.  We have maybe an inch or more on the deck.   My hair looks awful, but we're not going anywhere before Wednesday and Mike has already seen me. ;-)   If we had any pressing reason to go, I surely could and would have, but we don't so we won't.    Now, Denver is completely Gone, and it's kicking up a lot of blowing and very wet snow.   Looks nasty, and I would still be in the salon and have to drive home in this.

I reported my credit card lost yesterday.  What fun.  You no longer talk to a human being, and the system makes you listen to all of your balances and transactions to be sure that no illegal activity has occurred.  That would be fine, but then you "press 2" for a lost card, and they make you listen to the whole thing AGAIN.  I think I heard it all three times.  I was actually looking at all of my transactions on line as they read it to me.  by the time I was finished I was ready to scream ~~ but there was nobody but Mike to scream AT, and it wasn't his fault.  (lol)   In a very short time, they had apparently issued me a new credit card number, but they only show the last four digits, so I can't use it for online purchases or donations until the new one actually arrives in my mail (in 5 to 7 days).  Aarrgghh.

I think this is only the second time I've replaced a card.  The last time wasn't all that long ago, when I got a wrong charge on my account and reported it.   This one was purely 'on me', and I still haven't a clue what I could have done with the darned thing!   At least no one else found it and started using it.  I do keep a fairly close eye on my account.

That's a good idea to have a back up card 'just in case'.  I guess we do have some joint cards that I could use if I really needed to, and then just transfer from my checking account to our joint checking account.

I can so relate to your polishing off a package of cookies all by yourself in short order.  I can do that too ~ or a bag of cheetos or . . . well, there's a reason for my not so girlish figure.  Ha.   I hide them and I'm sort of "out of sight, out of mind" too, but you can definitely trust Mike to find them and bring them out.  Ha.

What I don't understand is why a bag of cookies can put 5 lbs on over night, and really avoiding the carbs for a week MAYBE moves an ounce off.  Maybe the fact that I am practically an inanimate object??  Ah, well.

Now you are enjoying the nice weather we have been having, and it looks really nasty out my window.   Nice day to stay inside and read or play on the PC.

I hope you can enjoy some time in the sun ~ I know that really makes a difference.

Love your fishies.  :-D

Have a really Happy Day, sweet Sister.

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL CHAT
(Date Posted:04/16/2016 11:17 PM)

LET'S GET THIS STRAIGHT RIGHT NOW....YOU ARE KEEPING THE SNOW BY YOU.  GOT IT?  I AM GOING TO HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE IF IT COMES HERE, LOL.

SOME FRIEND OF DIANE'S IS COMING TOMORROW TO DO ALTERATIONS ON MOM'S DRESS. DIANE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE COMING TOO BUT NOW SHE CANNOT FOR SOME REASON AND WE DO NOT EVEN KNOW THIS PERSON.  MOM IS FRETTING ABOUT IT AS SHE NEEDS HELP AND IT IS HARD FOR ME TO HELP HER GET INTO THAT LONG DRESS.  WE WILL JUST DO OUR BEST.  MOM HAS DECIDED THAT SHE WILL JUST WEAR A SIMPLE PAIR OF WHIT SHOES SHE HAS...I WILL CHECK THEM OUT TOMORROW.  DO NOT REALLY THINK YOU CAN SEE HER FEET ANYWAY, LOL.

ALL THE DAMN AUTOMATION THESE DAYS AND HAVING TO CHOOSE ENGLISH OR SPANISH OR HAVING TO HEAR COMMANDS MULTIPLE TIMES AND PHONE NUMBERS AT LEAST 3 TIMES.  OUR PHARMACY IS THE WORST. BUT I THINK YOU CREDIT CARD TOPS IT EASILY.  I SUPPOSED THEY HAVE TO BE THOROUGH.  STILL, IT IS SO ANNOYING.  ABOUT THE TIME YOU GET YOUR NEW CARD, THE OLD ONE WILL SHOW UP.

CHRIS AND SCOTT ARE FIGHTING TONIGHT AND WE ARE JUST ON THE EDGE OF CALLING THE COPS.  SCOTT KNOCKED WHEN IT WAS GOING ON 11 AND WANTED TO USE OUR PHONE.  CHRIS WAS ONCE AGAIN KICKING HIM OUT AND WOULD NOT GIVE HIM HIS PHONE. HE WAS DRUNK. HE STARTED TELLING US WHY THEY WERE FIGHTING (QUITE LOUDLY) WHEN CHRIS BURST IN AND STARTED YELLING AND SCREAMING.  BOTH TRYING TO DEFEND THEIR SIDE OF THE STORY.  MOM SAID WE DO NOT NEED THIS IN HERE AND SCOTT SAID YOU ARE RIGHT, LETS GET OUT OF HERE, I AM SORRY.  BUT CHRIS WOULD NOT GO, SHE JUST KEPT HOLLERING.  SHE WAS YELLING AND USING FOUL LANGUAGE TALKING ABOUT SCOTT'S KIDS AND VERY INAPPROPRIATELY.  MOM SAID THERE IS NOT TALKING TO YOU WHEN YOU ARE DRINKING AND YOU KEEP SAYING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER.  SO THEN SHE COMES OVER BY ME AND IS YELLING AND I TOLD HER IT WAS ENOUGH.  THEN SHE STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN AND MOM SAID YOU SAID THAT ALREADY AND YOU ARE DRUNK.  BUT SHE KEPT GOING UNTIL I SHOUTED....CHRIS...GO HOME!!!  SO SHE DID AND SAID SHE WAS SORRY AND I SAID SORRY DOESN'T CUT IT.  MOM LOCKED THE DOOR AFTER SHE LEFT.  ABOUT 15 MIN LATER SHE KNOCKS VERY QUIETLY AT THE DOOR AND MOM YELLED JUST A MIN THE DOOR IS LOCKED AND SHE YELLED...NEVERMIND AND SLAMMED THE DOOR TO HER APT.  THEN SHORTLY AFTER THERE WAS A LOT OF SLAMMING OF DOORS AND BANGING AND WE WERE TALKING ABOUT CALLING THE POLICE BUT NOW IT HAS GONE SILENT.  MAYBE SOMEONE LEFT. MAYBE THEY FELL ASLEEP OR MAYBE SOMEONE IS DEAD.  I GUESS WE WILL FIND OUT TOMORROW.  SO ONCE AGAIN IT IS MORE EXCITEMENT THAN I NEEDED AND MOM TOO,

SO I AM SAYING GOOD NIGHT TOO AND SHUTTING THIS COMPUTER DOWN.  HAVE A BLESSED DAY. XOXOXOXO

If a picture is worth a thousand words, there are four thousand.

Need I say more?  Still coming down ~ but we're expecting it to reach 80 degrees on Friday.  ;-)

LOL, I've blamed Barb in Canada for our snow.  She's had terrible weather and is finally having a bit of Spring ~ and just look at us.  I'll try to keep it here.

I hope Diane's friend can do a perfect job on your mom's dress.  Do you have a date for the Ceremony yet?

OMG, Chris and Scott!   Reminds me why I no longer want to live in an apartment.  A little of that kind of excitement definitely goes a long way.  How could you sleep after that?   I'm sure today they will be all repentant and nice.

Oooh, a beautiful tag, just for me!  Thank you!

Have a great day!

WOW, YOU GUYS ARE REALLY GETTING BURIED IN IT AREN'T YOU?  SHAME ON BARB.  YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD HER IN ADVANCE NOT TO SEND IT YOUR WAY, LIKE I DID YOU, LOL. MOM TALKED TO HER BROTHER IN AURORA TONIGHT AND HE WAS TELLING HER ABOUT IT TOO.  HE SAID THAT THE SKI RESORTS THAT WERE PREPPING TO CLOSE ARE NOT DOING A BOOMING BUSINESS AGAIN. SO SOME PEOPLE ARE HAPPY ABOUT YOUR SNOW.

HAVE YOU HEARD ANYTHING FROM BARB?  SHE GET TO HER DESTINATION OK?  I CANNOT REMEMBER WHERE YOU TOLD ME SHE WAS HEADING THIS TIME.  I HAVE KEPT HER IN MY PRAYERS.

IS THERE ANY NEWS ON SHARYL?  WHEN YOU SAID YOU CANCELLED YOUR APPT I ASSUMED IT WAS WITH THE SHOP OWNER. I COULD NOT IMAGINE THAT SHARYL WOULD HAVE BEEN BACK ON HER FEET THIS SOON. IS SHE OUT OF THE HOSPITAL.

ALL EXTREMELY QUIET ON THE NEIGHBOR FRONT TODAY.  I AM SURE THEY WERE TOO EMBARRASSED TO SHOW THEIR STUPID FACES TODAY.  OF COURSE THEN WE DID NOT GET OUR FRONT SCREEN DOOR PUT ON. MOM FINALLY HEARD THEM TONIGHT AND WENT AND TALKED WITH THEM. ACCORDING TO CHRIS LAST NIGHT SHE HAD HAD IT AND EITHER SHE WENT OF SCOTT WENT. TODAY THEY ARE ALL LOVEY DOVEY AGAIN. MOM TOLD THEM THERE WAS NO TALKING TO CHRIS WHEN SHE WAS DRUNK LIKE THAT AND CHRIS STARTED BITCHING ABOUT SCOTT'S SON AGAIN AND HE GOT UP AND WALKED OUT. MOM TOLD CHRIS THE SCOTT'S SONS ISSUES DID NOT INVOLVE HER AT ALL. THEY WERE ISSUES THAT HIS PARENTS HAD WITH HIM AND THAT THEY SHOULD DEAL WITH OR SCOTT AND HIS EX, BUT NOT HER!  I AM SURE IT WENT IN ONE EAR AND OUT THE OTHER. SHE WAS BAD MOUTHING HIS MOTHER AGAIN TOO AND BRINGING UP WHEN SCOTT CHEATED ON HER. SHE DOES NOT LET GO. IF THEY DO NOT STOP DRINKING THERE IS NO HOPE FOR THEM. I SO WANTED TO CALL THE POLICE AND OR HOPED THAT KATHY UPSTAIRS WOULD GET ANGRY ENOUGH TO DO IT. WE WENT A LONG TIME WITHOUT A FIGHT THIS TIME. I HOPE THEY DO NOT ESCALATE AGAIN. CHRIS NEEDS TO GET A JOB. SOMETHING TO TAKE UP SOME OF HER TIME.

MOM GOT HER DRESS FITTED AND THE WOMAN TOOK IT WITH HER. MOM SAW HER ARRIVE AND SAW SHE HAD A DOG IN THE CAR AND TOLD HER SHE COULD BRING HIM IN. HE WAS A LITTLE CUTIE AND ONLY ABOUT 6 MONTHS OLD SO STILL A PUPPY. NOT SURE WHAT KIND OF DOG HE WAS.  COULD HAVE BEEN A LHASA APSO. HE HAD FUN WITH ALL THE DOG TOYS AND TREATS AND I GOT PUPPY KISSES IN EXCHANGE.

A FRIEND OF MINE HAS KITTENS AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD BE READY FOR ADOPTION IN 3 WEEKS.  I SO WISH.  I SAW THE MOST ADORABLE ORANGE TIGER STRIPED.

ISN'T SHE ADORABLE? BUT THEN THERE WOULD BE THE COST OF SHOTS AND SPAYING. I JUST DO NOT HAVE IT. BUT OH I WANT THIS BABY SO. I WAS CHECKING OUT THE HUMANE SOCIETY AND CATS OVER 7 ONLY COST $15 TO ADOPT. IT MADE ME SO SAD TO SEE A CAT AGE 14 THERE. THEY SHOULD GIVE HER TO A GOOD HOME. I WOULD DO IT. OH WELL.  PIPE DREAMS.

AND SO IT IS MONDAY AND WE START ANOTHER WEEK.  LET'S HOPE IT'S A GOOD ONE.

XOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL CHAT
(Date Posted:04/18/2016 9:46 AM)

How de Do.   I think our snow is over ~ but not forgotten.  Grass and roofs still seriously covered, though the walks and driveway have been shoveled and are dry and the streets don't look bad.  Supposedly going to rain this afternoon, so that should largely finished.  They still have "80" on the forecast for the weekend.  CRAZY.

I got such a sad text from my Katie Beth yesterday.  She apologized from not being in touch more lately, but she suffered a miscarriage.  The little one grew until 7 weeks, and then stopped growing but after carrying it four more weeks, she needed surgery to have the baby removed.  So hard to miscarry, but how much harder to be carrying it for four weeks after it was no longer viable.  Of course she realizes that this is nature's way (blah, blah, blah) but I know that doesn't lessen the pain she must be feeling.  She has only told her folks and a couple close friends which I take to mean she hasn't told the rest of the family yet, so I won't mention it to anyone other than her mom, who must be hurting too.  It won't make it easier for Kate that her brother (Aaron) and Christina are expecting their second little one early this summer.  She will be fine, but my eyes were leaking bucketsfull for half an hour after we 'talked'.

I did put up a thread for Barb's newest venture into Togo, and I have another update I will add today.  Thank you for your prayers for her.  She needs them!

I need to give an update on Sharyl, too.  Yes, my cancelled and rescheduled appointment was with the Shop's owner, Theresa.  I really love the way she cut my hair last time, and I hope she can do it again on Wednesday!   Sharyl went from the hospital to another hospital for ongoing treatment.  She has been in the hospitals for two months, still having surgeries, or 'proceedures' to remove more tissue.  Once they feel the tissue is sound and 'flesh eating bacteria' free, they will close up the 'hole' and she will be able to go to rehab and learn to walk again.  She misses her family and wants to go HOME!  What a horrid experience this has been for her!

I'm not surprised at the way it went with Chris and Scott, but how sad.  Bad enough for you to have to listen to it coming from their apartment, but then they barge into yours!  I hope they will go longer without waging war again ~ but I don't count on it.

I'm glad your mom's fitting is done and I hope she does a great job on the dress.  How fun that you got some puppy time, too!

Oh, that kitten is Precious!  I'm so sorry you can't have a cat.  I would worry about the 'trip hazzard' as well as the expense, so I won't encourage you, but I know how you would love having one and how lucky any animal would be to end up with you.   I keep seeing the pictures on my Facebook from the Dumb Friends League and the Max Fund, and I'm on the list for rescued cats of the breeds we would like the most in Colorado, but so far there are always reasons why not.  (long haired, declawed, FIV positive, doesn't get along with other cats, etc).   Like everyone with a pulse, I adore kittens, but I really don't want one.  I'm too old and crabby to deal with trying to get one down from the top of the curtains ~ lol.   I would take an older cat in a heartbeat, if there weren't other issues that could be problematic with the Shogun.  That's where I'm really keeping an eye out.  They deserve not to spend their last months or years or whatever in a shelter, but we do make a lifetime commitment and we need to be sure we can keep that commitment.  Selfishly, I really don't want to take a cat that is sick and needs a lot of medical help.  We all know what we have to give, but I do think that older cats can make the best companions.    Barb (in Canada) recently lost the 6 year old boy they adopted and adored.  Of course it broke their hearts, but they found a older little girl at the shelter and fell in love with her.  She had some health issues, mostly very bad teeth and some other correctable things, and Barb and Tom spent a fortune having her teeth pulled.  Now, you can just tell how much they adore their "Juliette", and how completely that little girl has made herself at home.

I love, Love, LOVE my new tag!  Thank you!!

Have a lovely day.

Hugs,

Dorothy

I just put up an update from Barbara in Togo. ;-)

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL CHAT
(Date Posted:04/19/2016 12:00 AM)

THANKS FOR THE UPDATES ON BARB.  AFTER I READ HER NEWS I SAID A PRAYER FOR  HER AND THE WORK SHE DOES.  I HATE THAT SHE HAS SO MANY DEATHS ALREADY.  I REALLY DO NOT RECALL HER TALKING ABOUT DEATHS IS HER PAST UPDATES.  THE IDEA OF BREAST CANCER THAT IS ACTUALLY EATING AWAY THE BREAST IS SO HORRIBLE AND THE WOMAN WHO HAD TO HAVE A HYSTERECTOMY DUE TO A VENEREAL DISEASE IS SO OVERWHELMING TO ME.  I AM SURE WE ALL HAVE NO CLUE HOW LUCKY WE ALL HAVE IT.  GOD BLESS THOSE WHO ARE CALLED TO DO THIS KIND OF MISSIONARY WORK.  I WONDER IF DR. LUNDBERG (MY CANCER DOCTOR) STILL DOES IT.  HE ONCE TOLD ME A LITTLE ABOUT IT.  HE SAID THE MOST ADVANCED EQUIPMENT THEY HAVE IS SOME PORTABLE X-RAY.  NOTHING ELSE.  I DO NOT KNOW HOW THEY MANAGE. BUT GOD BLESS THEM ALL.

YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE IT BUT IT GOT TO 77 DEGREES HERE TODAY.  IT WAS ACTUALLY COOLER IN THE HOUSE THAN OUT, LOL.  THOUGH THE REST OF THE WEEK IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE 50'S WHICH IS MORE TYPICAL OF APRIL IN WI.

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO LEARN SCRIPTING.  BUT NO LUCK YET.  SOMETHING ALWAYS GOES WRONG AND IT TAKES FOREVER FOR THE PERSON TRYING TO HELP ME TO GET BACK TO ME. IT IS TAKING A LONG TIME TO WORK IT OUT,  I AM BEGINNING TO WONDER IF IT WILL BE WORTH IT.

POOR KATIE, MY HEART GOES OUT TO HER.  I REMEMBER WHEN RISSA LOST HER FIRST BABY NOT THAT LONG AFTER TELLING ALL OF US THAT SHE WAS PREGNANT AND WE WERE ALL SO HAPPY FOR HER.  THAT IS WHY THEY WAITED WITH SAM AND THIS TIME TO MAKE SURE.  I REMEMBER CRYING TOO BECAUSE I KNEW HOW MUCH IT WAS HURTING HER.  SO I AM SORRY FOR YOUR PAIN TOO.

I JUST PRAYED AGAIN NOW FOR SHARYL.  I LIKE TO PRAY WHEN DETAILS ARE FRESH IN MY MIND AND I CAN BE MORE SPECIFIC IN MY PRAYER.  THOUGH GOD PROBABLY KNOWS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT EVEN WHEN I DO NOT HAVE MUCH INFO. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THOSE MEDICAL BILLS SHE WILL HAVE.  DOES SHARYL HAVE ANY FAMILY?

I REMEMBER WHEN BARB AND TOM WENT TO ADOPT.  THEY WENT FOR A BOY AND LEFT WITH A GIRL, SINCE THE BOY WAS NOT GOOD WITH CHILDREN.  YOU ALWAYS FIND THE ONE THAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU.  YOU AND MIKE GOT SHOWGUN TO KEEP YOU YOUNG.  I THINK AN OLDER CAT WOULD BE JUST RIGHT FOR ME.  YOUR GOTTA LOVE THE CUTE KITTENS, BUT TO GIVE A HAPPY HOME TO AN OLDER CAT IS SUCH A BLESSING.

LOOK AT THIS POOR SAD MAMA.  SHE IS NEARLY 14. SHE MAY HAVE ONLY A SHORT TIME LEFT TO HER.  I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE HER AND LOVE HER TO THE END.  I HATE THE IDEA THAT SHE MAY DIE AT THE HUMANE SOCIETY.  NOW I HAVE MYSELF CRYING.

I WILL CHAT WITH YOU TOMORROW MY DEAR FRIEND.

XOXOXO

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL CHAT
(Date Posted:04/19/2016 8:40 AM)

Good Morning!

I think "Winter" is leaving and Spring will be making a return.  We didn't get our predicted rain yesterday, but it's predicted again for tomorrow.  We'll see.   I have a haircut in the morning.  It would be nice if the rain held off.

Today, no plans.  ;-)

I have the same sad feelings for Barb's patients and how often little things that would give us almost no problems can be devastating when left untreated and allowed to fester.  My heart broke for the young woman who lost both ovaries, and much of her worth in her country.  How hard and frustrating it must be for surgeons like Barb who have been used to working with state of the art equipment and lots of staff and rarely seeing things so advanced and out of control.  You can only do what you can do, but I can imagine the frustration and since of overwhelm.

I don't know if I told you, but for one of her earlier trips, she learned dentistry!  She would often encounter terrible infections in the mouths caused by bad teeth and treat the infections, but she couldn't treat the source of the infection.  I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to go to her as MY dentist, I suspect her skills are pretty basic, but at least in these severe cases she can pull a tooth.

The people in this hospital were rather insistent in asking her to come.  She learned that the Dr she is replacing and his assistant died of a virus (I can't remember which one).  She trusts God.  I worry about terrible illness, accident on those dangerous roads and monsters who want to kill missionaries.

We're heading for the high 70s, too, for the weekend, but we aren't there yet!

I tried scripting too, a very long time ago. I was able to do a bit, but was never confident and when I encountered a problem, I was stopped.  I haven't a clue now how to even start.  You'll get it!

I really can't imagine how Sharyl will pay for the kind of care she has had to have.  She is married and has a daughter who is 10, I think.  She is self employed, rents a space from the beauty parlor where she works.  I don't know what her or their insurance situation is.  Danny is a mechanic and works for a car company, but I don't remember which one.  Thank you for your prayers for her.

I prefer adopting a cat who is 5 or 6, in my ideal world, but my heartstrings are always tugged by the older cats who are spending their last years without the love of their own family.

I do worry about you and your mom having a Trip Hazard underfoot (cuz my official job is to worry, you know).  That said, another possibility might be to Foster a cat or kitten.  I'm not sure, but I would think the medical bills would be the responsibility of the shelter. The down side of course would be when you had to give him or her up, but you'd have the pleasure of them and knowing that you had given them a chance to find their forever homes.

You know I donate to the Max Fund, ASPCA and the Denver Dumb Friends League.  They send me their magazines that are filled with stories of happy adoptions, but the Dumb Friends League also shares Foster Failures.  Perhaps not what you may think ~~ they are cases where the Foster parents adopted their charge themselves.  lol

Have a happy day!

FOSTERING WOULD BE SOMETHING I WOULD LOVE TO DO.  BUT WE WOULD BE UNABLE TO TAKE A FOSTER TO THE VET, ETC.  SO THEY WOULD PROBABLY NOT FIND US TO BE IDEAL FOSTER PARENTS.  I ALSO WORRY THAT MY MOM WOULD GET SKIN TEARS FROM CLAWS.  HER SKIN IS SO FRAGILE AND THE FALL FACTOR FOR HER IS HUGE.  SO AS MUCH AS I WOULD LOVE ONE, IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.  MAYBE WHEN I AM ON MY OWN SOMEDAY, BUT MORE THAN LIKELY I WILL BE IN A LOW INCOME OR HANDICAP APTS AND THEY WILL PROBABLY NOT ALLOW THEM.

WE ARE BACK IN THE 50'S AND IT'S CLOUDY, WHICH REALLY IS WHERE IT SHOULD BE.  GOING TO BE THAT WAY ALL WEEK.  I HAVE NOT CHECKED BEYOND THAT.

I WON'T BE ON TOMORROW.  NAN IS PICKING ME UP AT 11:30 AND WE ARE GOING TO FAUSKA'S.  I WILL FINALLY GET TO SEE THE END OF DOWNTON ABBEY AND THERE HAVE ALREADY BEEN 4 EPISODES OF MR. SELFRIDGE.  SO WE WILL TRY TO WATCH THEM.  IT IS ALWAYS UP TO NAN HOW LONG WE STAY.  SO I JUST HAVE TO GO WITH THE FLOW.

I HOPE IT DOES NOT RAIN ON YOUR NEW DO TOMORROW AND I HOPE SHE CUTS IT JUST RIGHT.  MY HAIR IS GETTING REALLY LONG.  HAVE NOT DECIDED IF I WILL GET IT CUT OR IF I WILL JUST CONTINUE TO PUT IT IN A PONY TAIL EACH DAY.  IT IS SO THIN ON TOP, THAT I JUST DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE.  I SWEAR THAT HAVING BALDING ON TOP IS FAR WORSE THAN BEING BALD.  I MAY HAVE TO EVENTUALLY WEAR WIGS. IF SO, I AM GOING TO BUY CHEAP FUNKY ONES, LOL.  MAYBE ONE DECENT ONE IF I CAN AFFORD IT.  THOUGH I HATE WEARING THEM, MY HEAD SWEATS SOMETHING AWFUL.  WISH I HAD MY WIG FROM WHEN I HAD CANCER. BUT I LENT IT TO A GIRL AT WORK FOR A FRIEND OF HERS WHO HAD CANCER AND COULD NOT AFFORD ONE.  I NEVER SAW IT AGAIN.  OH WELL,  IT HAD TAKEN QUITE A BEATING.  THE 3RD TIME I LOST MY HAIR IT WAS LOOKING KIND OF SHABBY SO LOUANN CUT IT.  BUT THE SHORTER VERSION DID NOT LOOK GOOD TO ME AS THERE WAS JUST TOO MUCH HAIR AND THERE WAS NO THINNING THE WIG.  I THINK IT HAD MORE HAIR THAN I DID BEFORE I LOST IT.  IT WAS A GOOD WIG.  $400.00 GOOD.  THANK GOD INSURANCE PAID FOR IT.  MANY PEOPLE DID NOT KNOW I WAS WEARING A WIG.  WHEN I GOT HOME IT CAME OFF.  OH WELL, MAYBE SOMEONE WILL COME UP WITH SOMETHING THAT REALLY DOES MAKE HAIR GROW.

MAYBE SOMEONE IN HER FAMILY SHOULD START A "GO FUND ME" ACCOUNT.  SOME CAN REALLY RAISE A LOT OF MONEY ON THERE.  IF THEY WOULD SHARE HER STORY AND SHARE SOME PICTURES THEN A LOT OF PEOPLE MIGHT DONATE MONEY.  EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS.

I WILL CHAT WITH YOU ON THURSDAY MY DEAR FRIEND.

XOXOXO

Good Morning, and Happy Hump Day!

Cool and sunny today, and the rain isn't supposed to start until mid-afternoon.  I have a haircut this morning and then we may go for breakfast and pick up some groceries.

I guess for now you are just going to have friends with cats or dogs who will share or let you baby sit.  ;-(

Oh, yay!  You finally get to see the end of Downton Abby!   Not "Yay" that it ended, but that you finally get to see the end.

We just didn't enjoy Selfridge this year so we stopped watching. I think the story follows real life, and his later life wasn't  happy and exciting like when he was establishing Selfridges.   Have you watch Grandchester?   It's on before Selfridge, and we are well into season two.  I really love that show.  We went back and binge watched Season one again, before starting to watch Season Two.

I thought my hair was thinning too and blamed my meds.  It might actually be thinner, but since I started using that Plastique Sheryl put me on to, it doesn't appear thin anymore.  My mom and brother had the thickest heads of hair you ever saw, and I couldn't believe that Lucille Johnston's daughter could have thin hair!   I do know what you must be feeling. It would be great to find some product that would help.

I used to have wigs, too, in my long lost youth, but just for fun and not because of need.  I had a black one, and a sexy blond one and could change my "persona". lol   Definitely not comfortable, but fun.

Have to run to get to my appointment.

Have a swell day, and I'll see you when you get back!

I DID NOT GO ANYWHERE.

BRUCE IS IN THE HOSPITAL.  LOUANN TEXTED ME LAST NIGHT

VERY LATE TO SAY TODAY WAS OFF THAT THEY WERE IN THE ER.

BRUCE EITHER HAS A BOWEL OBSTRUCTION OR A SEVERE CASE OF

DIVERTICULITIS.  SO BEEN PRAYING.  THIS MORNING I TEXTED

HER AND ASKED HOW ALL WERE.  SHE SAID BRUCE WAS FEELING A

LITTLE BETTER.  SHE DID NOT GIVE ME MUCH INFO BUT THAT THEY

WERE IN THE HOSPITAL.  SO I WAITED ALL DAY FOR AN UPDATE.

I FINALLY CALLED OUT TO THEIR PLACE AROUND 9PM AND GOT NO

ANSWER.  BUT THEN WAS WORRYING EVEN MORE.  SO I TEXTED

HER.  BUT NO ANSWER.  FINALLY AFTER 10 I GOT A TEXT THAT

JUST GOT HOME.  SHE NEVER DID SAY WHAT HE HAD.  JUST THAT

HAD POOPED A LITTLE AND IS FINALLY A BUT HUNGRY, BUT THEY

WILL NOT LET HIM EAT UNTIL HE POOPS MORE.  SO THEY WILL SEE

HOW HE IS DOING TOMORROW.  HOPEFULLY SHE WILL HAVE TIME

TO TALK SOON.

JOSH STOPPED IN AND SPENT SOME TIME WITH US TODAY.  HE IS

QUITTING THE SALES JOB AND GOING BACK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

HE SAID HE DOES NOT WANT TO BE AN A-HOLE LIKE MOST OF THE

SALES STAFF.  HE IS NOT COMFORTABLE TRYING TO PUSH SOMEONE

INTO BUYING A VEHICLE.  HE IS FINE WITH SAYING ALL ABOUT THE

VEHICLE AND GETTING THEM A GOOD DEAL...BUT PUSHING THEM TO

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL CHAT
(Date Posted:04/21/2016 10:06 AM)

Wakey, Wakey!

Looks like a beautiful day today.  I took the trash and recycles out last night so I didn't have to worry about them this morning.  I can hear they are picking something up somewhere in the neighborhood, but given how goofy they have been lately about picking things up, I don't know when they will get ours.  Time before last they picked up the whole neighborhood EXCEPT Balsam Street, but didn't pick our up until after 5 PM.  Last time, they got us early.  Aarrgghh.    Oh ~ they just drove by, so I guess we're in for the very late pick up again.  DARN!

I think I got another good haircut from Theresa.  It's really short but seems to have a good shape.  She doesn't put much goo in like Sharyl does, so a good brushing and it just feels like . . . hair.  ;-)  Without curling, it just seems nicely shaped around my face.  With a little curling iron time, I can make it more "sophisticated" if I really feel like I have to.

Then we went for breakfast at the Egg and I.  Corned beef hash and eggs for Mike and my favorite Wisconsin Scramble (eggs scrambled with three or four different cheeses) for me.  I skipped on the potatoes or grits and had fruit, which was almost all "low carb".  I gave the pineapple chunks and apple slices to Mike and he said they were delicious.  I love pineapple, but I enjoyed the low carb cantalope and strawberries, so I felt righteous. (laugh)

Next Mike went for a few groceries.  I wrote the list so I know it was a very small list and he said he felt fine ~ but he was in the store forEVER.  He left his phone in the car so I couldn't call him and I wasn't sure if I should go inside and try to find him or what I should do.  FINALLY he came back.  He was fine, but the small grocery list had expanded to many, many sacks!

smiley14

Shiela, you are out weeding, and I have second and third thoughts about walking from the car to the grocery store. lol.  I am beyond pathetic!

I had to look up that Freschetta Pizza.  I've seen it of course, but we've never had it.  Mike tends to like the more traditional pizzas with rather specific toppings of his choice, and I like the rather 'different' ones without tomato sauce.  These sounded great!  I think we'll be trying them.  I found several that had my name on them, and Mike can add some olives and things to a couple of the other ones and they sound like something he would like, too.

We have been rewatching some of the shows we loved, but I do want to check out some of those you have mentioned.  We should be able to get "Better Call Saul".  We don't get Showtime, so those probably won't be available to us, unless they stream on Netflix or somewhere.  Showtime has a lot of good things.   We get HBO free, or we wouldn't have that.  We almost never see anything we want to watch there, and they have so many anti-conservative shows I'm inclined to "boycott" them ~ laugh.

We watched Castle last night, and I think it's really ready to retire, rather than just let some of their cast members go.  They MUST have changed their writers from the first few seasons, because it was really enjoyable then.  Sad.

Oh, Poor Bruce!  It must have been really miserable for him to end up in the hospital.  I hope all is well now ~ or heading that way.  I can imagine how you felt.  It's horrid worrying about someone and not being able to get information.

It's too bad that Josh is quitting his sales job, because I'm sure he can make more money there, but I'm not surprised either.  He's such a good guy, and it's obviously important for him to stay true to his own values.  In this day and age, that borders on amazing!  Good man!  I'm so glad he is thinking of things like the benefits the jobs will provide and not just the salary, or how much fun it is.  I'm proud of him!

If you do start to watch Grandchester, try to start with the first season and go forward.  You'll enjoy it more, I think.  I didn't like the first episode of the first season, but it set the tone so I could love the following episodes.  They are mysteries Plus.

I hope Bruce is soon well.  I'll say a prayer for him.

Love 'n Hugs

D.

LOL, you did not edit as well as you usually do. I hope that Sheila got her garden weeded. You had a really busy day to get all that in. It exhausted me just reading it all :)

Were you able to see Jason's performance at Mr. Fond du Lac. Joanne reshared it as public and then I reshared it and tagged you on it. Today I posted an interview that KFIZ a local radio station. They credit him with Fondy winning the game tonight.(baseball)  He hit a ball out of the ball park and he pitched a good game.

Moms silver shoes and purse came today. The shoes fit and she can walk in them so we are happy campers. So now she is worrying about her dress and whether the alterations will help. She is a 16 on top and a 20 on the bottom so the dress is loose on top and does not hang right. I told mom the dress needed to be steamed and she says it is just fine."sigh"

So sad about Prince. I remember when he first came on the scene I thought he was just a Michael Jackson wannabe. But I was wrong, so wrong. One of my favorite songs of his is Raspberry Beret. Not sure why, but I love it.

The "Powers that be" have already decided what we will watch next. Mr. Selfridge and then we will also be watching the series about Benedict Arnold. It does interest me, but I never get any say in the programs.

Bruce is still in the hospital. He does or did have a bowel obstruction and he waited too long before going in. He has not been feeling well since Thurs last week. He is feeling a little better and has been upgraded from clear liquid diet to a full liquid...which means he can now have shakes, cream soup, jello, etc. They will see how he is doing tomorrow. He invited me out
on Sunday for supper. We will be celebrating his birthday. Once the kids and grandkids leave we will hopefully at least get the end of Downton in.

Gotta go, mom insists I start going to bed earlier. It was 4:30 am yesterday. I finished finished the new Nora Roberts book. It was sooooo good. About a serial killer and profiling and great characters. She just writes so well. I had trouble putting it down. So now I should be
able to go to bed at a decent hour.
Chat with you tomorrow.

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL CHAT
(Date Posted:04/22/2016 11:01 AM)

Good Morning.

Another lovely day here.  60 now, heading for the high 70s.  Shauna is here now.  We had a light out in our 'water closet' and had her change that.  She's always so willing to do things that are hard for us, bless her.  I don't know why, but I am beyond tired this morning.

It looks like Trump is going to be the Republican candidate, and Hillary the Democrat's.  I think both choices are worse than poor, but until yesterday I thought that if I had to, I could accept Trump because I do agree with several of his positions.  I just don't trust that he will ultimately do what he says, and of course his persona is ~~ well, you know.  Yesterday he came out in favor of continuing to give tax money to Planned Parenthood, who in turn gives huge donations to Hillary, therefore forcing Me to contribute to Hillary via my tax $$.  It's infuriating.  Then my new Hot Button is this Transgender Bathroom stuff. I can't even believe it's happening and that everyone is jumping on the bandwagon to approve it.  I'm glad I don't have a granddaughter who will be expected to pee next to a fully equipped man who claims he thinks he is a woman.  I'll be very uncomfortable with that myself.   I'd have no problem with someone who has undergone the change and is anatomically a woman no matter how he or she started out, but just because someone says they are a woman or a man or a kangaroo doesn't make it so.   Trump came out in favor of forcing us and our kids to share the bathroom or the locker room or showers at a public swimming pool with fully intact men.  Insane!   Soooo, Trump is making it harder and harder for me to vote for him.    Speech over.  LOL

Well Blush!  Obviously I not only didn't edit, but didn't re-read yesterday's post.   lol     Shiela is in Lake Havasau AZ and it's already in the 90s, and she's in her 80s.  She has two lots and lots of weeding and maintenance to be done.  She hires a lot of it now (finally!) but they often don't do things to her satisfaction.

She always cooks things that sound so good, so when she said she got that Freshetta Pizza on sale and found that she really liked it, I had to check it out.   They really do look good, but it will be a while before I buy Pizza for myself.  I think Mike will get some maybe.   I've lost a whopping 13 lbs in two months, though (knock wood) it does seem to finally be moving ~~ unless I just jinxed myself.  Ha.

I haven't been on Facebook yet this morning, so I haven't seen the video of Jason's performance.  I did see his baseball one ~~ he is such a cutie!

I'm so glad your mom's shoes fit and are comfortable.  Now to keep our fingers crossed that the dress alterations are good.   When is the big event?

The crew on 'The Five' yesterday spent nearly the whole hour talking about Prince.  I was never a huge fan, but they all sure were.  Obviously he was extremely talented, and he will be missed.

I'll bet you would like Grantchester more than Benedict Arnold, though maybe not.  I really know so little about old Benedict other than the obvious.  I'll be interested to see if you are still enjoying Selfridge.  I know the show mirrors his real live, but his real life at the end wasn't the upbeat, filled with promise like it was earlier.  I don't think the show is bad now, I just can't get into it.  Probably just Mike and me.   At least you'll get to watch Downton.

Is Nan "TPTB"?   Umm . . . . why?  ;-)

Oh, poor Bruce!  I thought he went home from the hospital!  How miserable.   Hopefully he'll be able to have something good, even if light, for his birthday!

I agree with your mom ~ you should go to bed earlier!   (Ut-oh.  TWO moms nagging on you.  lol)

Good Morning.

Looks like another pretty day today.  Yesterday we reached 81 degrees!  I don't think it will be that warm today, but maybe close.

I had Shauna clean the 'Guest Suite' in the basement yesterday too, and make the bed down there.  We don't have any 'reservations' until the Fall, but it's good to have everything ready just in case.  It really wasn't dirty, but it's good to have it freshened.

You will be happy to know that the large plastic trash can (36 gal, I think ~ maybe more) has a new home and won't be going to the dump.  Shauna has a really large yard and raccoons (!) and she took the can.  She said it was going to be her son's new best friend ~ lol.  It's on wheels and the lid locks when the handle is raised into position so the coons can't get in.  Like me, it's old, but it still has some good years in it.  ;-)    She was telling me that when she took that vanity chair home last time, both her daughter and her niece were excited and claimed it, but Shauna changed her mind and said "No. I'm refinishing my bathroom and when it's done, the chair is MINE".  I love it!

Hope you are having a great day!

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL CHAT
(Date Posted:04/23/2016 10:31 PM)

I AM NOT GOING TO TRY AND DEAL WITH A BORDER AND TAG.

THE INTERNET IS RUNNING SO SLOWLY FOR ME THAT EVERYTHING

JUST SPINS AND SPINS.  EVERYTHING TIMES OUT SO I HOPE I CAN

GET THIS POSTED.

BRUCE GOT OUT YESTERDAY. TODAY HE SAYS HE IS FEELING GREAT.

IT WAS A BOWEL OBSTRUCTION AND HE HAD BEEN IN PAIN SINCE

LAST THUR.  IF IT EVER HAPPENS AGAIN, HE SAID HE WILL NOT

WAIT TO GO IN FOR HELP.  NAN IS PICKING ME UP AROUND 2

TOMORROW TO GO OUT TO L&B's FOR THE DAY.  KIDS AND GRANDS

WILL BE THERE.  NOT SURE IF GARY AND STEVE WITH BE THERE, I

HOPE SO.  PROBABLY LOUANN's MOM, NANCY, TOO!!  UNLIKE MY MOM,

NANCY LOVES ALL KINDS OF MOVIES, ETC.  MUCH MORE AWARE OF

WHO IS WHO AND SHE IS A YEAR OLDER THAN MOM.  BUT SHE HAS

NOT BEEN THROUGH ALL MOM HAS.  IT IS WEIRD TO CALL HER NANCY

AS SHE WAS ALWAYS MRS. LEONHARDT WHILE I WAS GROWING UP.

NOW SHE JUST WANTS TO BE CALLED NANCY.  WHO KNOWS WHEN

I WILL GET HOME.

I MUST HAVE MISSED SOMETHING ABOUT THE BIG GARBAGE CAN.

OR WAS IT A WHILE AGO?  SOMETHING IS NIGGLING AT THE BACK

OF MY MIND.  IT IS PROBABLY HIDING THERE.  LOL

I REALLY WISH THERE WAS SOMEONE ELSE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT.

HAS THERE EVER BEEN A YEAR WITH SUCH CANDIDATES?  HONESTLY

THOUGHT IT WAS A JOKE WHEN TRUMP DECIDED TO RUN.  AS HE

CALLED NAMES AND ACTED MORE AND MORE LIKE A POUTING CHILD

I WAS SO SURE HE WOULD BE REJECTED YET HE KEPT GAINING

MOMENTUM.  I KNOW PEOPLE ARE SICK OF ALL THE CRAP BUT HAVE

THEY LOST THEIR MINDS?  WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE DIGNITY

OF THE OFFICE?  TRUMP SURE DOESN'T HAVE THAT.  WILL HE ACT

LIKE A SPOILED CHILD WITH OTHER COUNTRIES WHEN THINGS DO

NOT GO HIS WAY?  AND HILLARY HAS FAR TOO MANY SECRETS AND

BELIEVES SHE IS ABOVE THE LAW.  BUT SO DOES TRUMP.

WE NEED A HERO!!

GOOD FOR YOU!  THAT IS A GREAT WEIGHT LOSS.  I AM AFRAID TO

STEP ON THE SCALE, I HAVE BEEN SO BAD.  I SEE MY PULMONOLOGIST

ON MONDAY AND THEY WILL WEIGH ME, SO I MIGHT AS WELL CHECK

IT OUT SO THAT I DO NOT DIES OF SHOCK ON MONDAY.

I WILL TRY TO MAKE IT IN TOMORROW, BUT DO NOT COUNT ON IT.

XOXOXO
