RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/08/2014 7:04 AM)

Good Morning????     I have my doubts, but I'll try to remain hopeful.

I don't often have allergy problems, but yesterday I was a disaster area.  I woke up sneezing and with my nose running through half a box of kleenex, and hacking and snorting ~ and it didn't get better.   I can't imagine how a person could have that much liquid in her nose and chest without drowning!   When bedtime came, did I take a Benedryl?   No, of COURSE not!

I woke up pretty much allergy free this morning ~ at about 3:30 AM, and couldn't get back to sleep!    I decided to make some new Easter Borders and found that Aimoo has trashed all of my html Cheat Sheets.  I'm pretty sure I can't make them again, that knowledge is gone with the wind, or something.  We still have tagbot, but now I'm too out of sorts to want to make new borders.    Today does not bode well for me.

smiley50

We're heading for the HIGH 60's today, and sunny!  Doesn't sound like that's going to fit my mood.

smiley14

I hope the sleep study went well, Lou Ann, or at least as well as it could.  I did think you said TWO days (or nights).  I'm glad I got that wrong!   You may have to catch up on your sleep at home in your recliner!

I meant to ask you if you are watching Mr Selfridge?  The new Season has started and we've had two episodes.   I'm liking it so far.  http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/programs/series/mr-selfridge-s2/

Have a terrific Tuesday!

I HAVE WAITED TO LONG TO POST AND NOW I AM SO TIRED I COULD DROP OFF ANY MINUTE.  GOING TO BED AT MIDNIGHT.  LET'S JUST SAY IT WAS A LONG, PAINFUL MIND NUMBING NIGHT.  BUT THIS AFTERNOON THE O2 COMPANY BROUGHT ME MY PORTABLE O2 CONCENTRATOR THAT IS BATTERY OPERATING....NO TANKS.  WE WILL SEE HOW THAT GOES.  I REALLY CANNOT THINK AT THIS POINT.  I SHOULD NOT HAVE WAITED SO LONG.  ABOUT 3 HOURS SLEEP AND NO NAP AND I AM GONNA BE OUT IN MINUTES.  GOOD NIGHT MY FRIEND.  I WILL COME IN TOMORROW EARLY AND BE MORE CHATTY.

Good Morning!     Six glorious hours of sleep last night.  I won't know how to act on this Happy Hump Day!    Thank you, Benedryl.

Lou Ann, I read your post on Facebook yesterday, so I know what a miserable night you put in.   I'm sorry it was even worse than you had feared.   I hope they were able to get some useful data, but it's hard to imagine HOW useful when your sleep was so different than it normally is because of the unnatural circumstances THEY set up for you.

Believe me, I do feel your pain about trying to exist on three hours sleep.  I actually got only two hours the night before last (my own fault because I didn't take a Benedryl), but I felt semi-sick all day yesterday.

I hate needing drugs to sleep, but lately if I want to be almost human, that's what it takes.   I really should have taken them when I spent the whole day snorting and sneezing, but nooooo.  Not me!  Ha.  Yesterday even without the drugs I was snort & sneeze free, just didn't sleep the night before so I felt cruddy.  I can't imagine what caused all the hacking an sniffling on the one day.

I'm SO glad you got the portable oxygen!   I hope it works like a dream!

Good Day ladies (by that I mean Dorothy, lol.)
I slept so well last night.  Stayed up with no nap and went
to bed shortly after midnight and do not remember anything until I awoke at shortly after 8.  I even fell asleep in my recliner in the living room while playing a game on my ipad.  Slept another half hour.  I am so happy that you got sleep too Dorothy.  It makes us feel human again.  Though I sometimes think you can get too much sleep.

Nothing on our agenda today.  Josh surprised us by dropping in and bringing us Root Beer Floats from A&W.  How wonderful is that?  Talked with him about how his album is coming along.  The music has all been recorded and the voice and only the mixing is left...he thinks about 3 weeks.  Then to have it made into CD's.
I cannot wait.  I just hope thy guy doing the mixing is good and does not let the music over power his voice.  I hate it when all you hear is the music and not the singer.  He is running around with no muffler and we warned him he will get stopped.  He said money is short right now.  So I said "then don't be buying us floats".  He just laughed...the brat!
Bank statements came and mom did hers and after being $10 off and the $20 off, she got it to balance.  How much you want to bet that next month it will be a mess.  I have not bothered with mine yet but do need to pay a couple of bills.
Have a great day tomorrow.
Hugs,

How's your Thursday going?   I'm sitting with a cuddle-bug named Shogun who is purring loudly.  I wonder what he's planning. . . .

Yesterday the temps climbed to 77 degrees ~ I do believe that's just a shade under 80!  We went for a little ride, with the excuse of needing to mail some bills.  Lovely.   Today it's "only" supposed to be in the mid-60s.  I'll definitely take it!

I didn't take a Benedryl last night because I had a headache all day, I think due to plugging up all that liquid in my head.  Nice not to sneeze and drip all day, but my sinuses were a tad painful.  Anyway, I fell asleep right away and slept until 3:30!   AARRGGHHH.   I know I dozed until after 5 when Mike woke up, but dozing isn't sleeping.  Still, I feel pretty good and I'll hit the Bendryl again tonight.

I really do have the cleaning Bug ~ I just don't have a body that will let me stand for 5 consecutive minutes to do it.  With Marcela coming every other week, doing the extra things I want to do should be a piece of cake.  Should be, being the operative words.

Our miss Lucy is coming up on her first birthday next month!  The kids are growing so fast!   I know I won't be able to see any of them until they are maybe in their teens and the family drags them to see the old folks in Colorado.  It's about impossible to select gifts for them, knowing they have so many people who love them and will bring them toys and clothes, so last year we got Jack a collectible one ounce silver Proof dollar.  I'm sure it won't mean anything to him until he's older, but then having a collection of silver might.  I hope so.  Anyway, we decided to do that for all three kids birthdays until they are 18, so yesterday I ordered three of the 2014 Proof dollars from the US Mint  and we'll send one to each kid for their birthday.   For Christmas we get them dated Lenox ornaments.   It would be a lot more fun for us to be able to buy clothes or toys, but it's not about fun for us, I guess.  I hope when they are older they like the collectibles.

smiley26

I'm so glad ~ and rather jealous ~ that you slept weil.   I hope today is a banner day for you!

I really do love that Josh!  What a sweetheart.

I re-balanced the checkbooks yesterday so today I will catch up the infamous Budget Book.   I'm hopeful that it will be easy this time since there hasn't been too much activity.

Otherwise not much on my agenda for today.  I wish rather than hope that I could get several things done, but I seem to be having more and more trouble standing.

Have a Super Day!

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/11/2014 9:00 AM)

Good Morning ~ and welcome to the weekend!

Yesterday was another lovely day in the high 60s.  I got the trash and recycle bins in and we spent an hour putting the things back in the cabinets in the laundry room.  We will definitely need a ladder to get most of  them, but we only put things in that we shouldn't need often.   Because we strongly protest our government's forcing the supposedly energy efficient mercury filled light bulbs on us (which have subsequently proved not to be nearly as good as the old incandescent but much more expensive), we stocked up in incandescent light bulbs, and that is what will live in those cabinets.

Laundry detergent and other thing that used to live in them will live in the pull out drawers in the pedestals under the new high efficiency washer and dryer.   It was a good job to get done, but I had to stop twice.  Pathetic.

We rewarded ourselves with a drink in the Library in the late afternoon.

smiley15

The Earth Day tag is lovely!   Thank you!!

I'm sorry Liam has some problems, but isn't it great the new innovations that ensure him a good and healthy life?    Great pictures.

I'm so glad you got six hours of sleep.  That's such a blessing.  Now, hopefully you will be back on your regular schedule.

I did my blood test yesterday ~ 1.9.  It's been hovering around 2.0 - 2.3 for a while.  They should call me today about it.  I'm thinking we should go back to half a pill on only one day, an not two.   That's the dose I had for ages before I suddenly popped up to over 3 for several weeks and we cut my dosage to half a pill 3 days a week.   The only thing I can think of that caused it is that my insurer changed drug companies and we went from Medco to OptimRx.  The pills are different.   I know generics are supposed to be as good as name-brand, but we also know that the standards allow quite a variation.   For whatever reason, I seem to be back to the way I was before.  Perhaps my body just needed to adjust to the new Warfarin.  Who knows.

Have a lovely weekend, and thanks again for the beautiful tag!

 Dorothy

HELLO MY PRETTIES
NOTHING MUCH GOING ON BY ME.  MOM HAD AN APPT TO
HAVE HER PORT FLUSHED.  SO SUZ TOOK HER AND ALSO
WENT TO POST OFFICE FOR STAMPS AND THE BANK.  WE
HAD HOPED SHE WOULD RUN OVER TO FAZOLI'S FOR US.
BUT SHE SAID SHE WAS TOO BUSY. :(  OH WELL.
THEN BRENT, THE OLDEST OF MY NEPHEWS STOPPED BY TO CHAT...WHICH HE RARELY DOES.  I ASKED MOM ABOUT FAZOLI'S WHILE HE WAS HERE AND SHE TOLD ME ABOUT SUZ BEING TOO BUSY.  BRENT SAID HE WOULD GO PICK UP SUPPER FOR US.  MOM GOT THE ULTIMATE CHICKEN ALFREDO PASTA BOWL AND I GOT THE ULTIMATE SPAGHETTI PASTA BOWL.  BRENT DID NOT WANT ANY BUT AFTER SMELLING IT WHILE BRINGING IT HERE HE WISHED HE HAD.  WE BOTH OFFERED TO SHARE WITH HIM BUT HE PASSED.  WE DID CONVINCE HIM TO HAVE A COUPLE OF BREADSTICKS.  THEN HE REMEMBERED WHY HE CAME.  HE WILL BE JOINING US AT EASTER FOR CHINESE SO IT WILL BE MOM, I, DIANE AND BRENT.  THIS WILL BE THE FIRST TIME I CAN EVER REMEMBER NOT HAVING HAM FOR EASTER, LOL.  BUT I LIKE THE CHANGE.  I AM GLAD I MADE SOME PURCHASES FROM  JELLY BELLY LAST NIGHT SO WE WILL HAVE SOME CANDY IN THE HOUSE TO OFFER DIANE AND BRENT.  I WILL MAKE UP AND EASTER BASKET FOR THE TABLE.  THEN HE LEFT.  OUR SUPPER WAS DELICIOUS AND ENOUGH FOR SUPPER TOMORROW NIGHT TOO!  GOTTA LOVE IT.  WE ALSO TRIED THEIR CHEESECAKE SPECIAL MADE WITH NUTELLA.  IT WAS OK, BUT NEITHER OF US WOULD ORDER IT AGAIN.
I HAVE TO GO MONDAY FOR A RECHECK ON MY INR.  IT WAS TOO LOW LAST TIME.  I HOPE IT IS OK THIS TIME.  I WANT TO GET BACK TO GOING MONTHLY.  I TAKE WARFARIN, DOROTHY AND ALWAYS HAVE.  I GET GENERIC EVERYTHING.  IF I GET GENERIC THROUGH MY MAIL ORDER PHARMACY, A 3 MONTH SUPPLY IS FREE.  THE ONLY THINGS I HAVE A VERY LOW CO-PAY ON IS THE NEBULIZER SOLUTION AND THE INHALERS.  BECAUSE I QUALIFY FOR LOW INCOME I DO NOT HAVE TO PAY MORE THAT $6.45 FOR ANY PRESCRIPTION AND THAT FOR 3 MONTHS.  IT IS FOR JUST 1 MONTH IF I GO TO THE PHARMACY.  I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS PALM SUNDAY WEEKEND ALREADY.  THIS MONTH IS NEARLY HALF OVER AND IT JUST STARTED, LOL.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND.

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/12/2014 7:57 AM)

Good Morning.

We went to the Bonefish for Fish and Chips last night.  The temperature was 81 degrees!      Today it is supposed to reach the high 60s.   But Wait!   Tomorrow, we are expecting a 'high' of 37 degrees, and 5.1 inches of SNOW are predicted!   Seriously??   I'm just sayin' . . .

My sinuses are seriously screwed up so I didn't take a Benedryl before bedtime, and to my actual knowledge, I don't believe I slept at ALL.  I'm sure I must have dozed from time to time, but I was aware of being awake all night long.  I'm sure this will be a very productive day.  NOT.

Lou Ann, I love my newest tag!  I have it and it's matching border saved.  It definitely looks like "Welcome to Spring".  Guess that means I need to wait until after our 5.1 inches of snow melts, huh?

I love how close your family is and how they look out for you and your mom.  So sweet for Brent to just stop in, and then to go for dinner for you.   Dinner sounded great, and you KNOW how I love having leftovers!

We're still debating about Easter dinner.  We were going to make the traditional ham dinner (for a change  ~ Mike usually wants Prime Rib).  Then he saw an advertisement for Easter dinner at The Hideaway that sounded really good.  My issue is that I really don't have a thing to wear since I've gotten so fat, and everyone will be coming from Easter Services and be done 'to the nines'.   I can probably come up with something.  Maybe.  We haven't made reservations yet, so who knows what His Lordship will decide he wants to do.  Ha.

He made his famous  . . . . . . . . call to the Chinese Restaurant the day before yesterday, so we have been enjoying Sesame Chicken (mild) and  . . I can't remember what, Spicy, along with Crab Rangoons and Pot stickers.

Mike's sister gave us a new recipe for Cream of Mushroom soup (from scratch) that sounds delicious so I think I'm going to make that tomorrow.  If it turns out good, I'll share the recipe.   The tomato soup recipe was hers too, and it's delicious.  We ate six bowls and four cups, and froze two more bowls!   That reminds me ~ I wanted to put up the recipe for the Taco Bake Mike made early this week.  It really was good, and pretty easy to make.

They didn't call me about my INR yesterday.  I was a bit surprised.   I hope yours is good when you go.    I have use Warfarin from the start, but these obviously come from a different drug company.  They are a different color an shape ~ and hard to break in two, I might add.    I think they will be ok.  My body seems to be adjusting to them and I'm getting the same kind of results I used to.   I can't think of any other reason than the new drugs for me to suddenly start registering at 3.4 and 3.6, etc.

Wow ~ I thought our drug costs were good!  Yours are better!   We pay $2 for a three month supply of all of our drugs, generic or not.   Most of mine are generic but one of the generic BP meds causes your feet to swell.  Given my numb feet, having them swell as well is not acceptable!  Ha!  I took the generic before we went on a trip to Santa Fe, and I could barely walk ~ an in those days I still walked pretty good.  It was terrible.   When I got home I called my cardiologist and said I want the brand name (Benicar)!  I've been on that ever since.

Have a Swell Saturday!

HELLO CUPPA'S

I AM SO SCREWED UP FROM THAT DAMNED SLEEP STUDY.  I CANNOT FALL ASLEEP TILL 3 AM AND SLEEPING LATER AND LATER AND I DO NOT LIKE IT.

I AM ADDICTED TO SOME DAMN GAME ON MY IPAD AND PLAYED IT FOR HOURS TODAY.  WHAT A WASTE.  I HATE A WASTED DAY.

WE ARE HAVING THUNDERSTORMS AND I LOVE IT.  AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT CHANGE TO SNOW DURING THE NIGHT.  I DO NOT THINK IT WILL.  WE HAVE WATER SITTING EVERYWHERE OUT BACK.  LOOKS LIKE WE NEED SOME MORE GRAVEL FILL.

ATE OUT WONDERFUL LEFT OVERS TODAY.  THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT BOTH OF US HAD A LOT OF PASTA IN COMPARISON TO THE SAUCE.  I DO NOT MIND MINE THAT WAY BUT MOM LIKES HER SAUCE SO SINCE SHE HAD ALFREDO, I TOLD HER TO ADD BUTTER TO HERS TO MAKE IT GO FARTHER AND THAT WORKED.  WE WOULD DEFINITELY GET THESE DINNERS AGAIN.

I DO NOT KNOW WHY THIS BORDER STAYS SO NARROW.  IT IS ANNOYING.

WELL, I HAVE NOTHING ELSE OF INTEREST TO SAY OTHER THAN HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY/ PALM SUNDAY.

HUGS,

Ahhhh.  Six glorious hours of sleep last night, with only one "get up" during the night.  Ahhhh.       I can't imagine how I stayed awake all day yesterday with NO sleep the night before, but I did.  I was actually a little sick in the morning, but after I had some toast I was ok.  Surprisingly.   Anyway, so much better today.

Our expected snow has just started, very fine and barely visible, but it's suppose to continue all day.  We'll see.

smiley13

Lou Ann, your border is pretty, but it does have the shape of a Grocery list.  lol.  I'm just so upset that Aimoo trashed my html cheat sheets.   It's been so long since I made them that I really can't do them over.  Grrr.

I really hear you about the sleep issues!  I hope we both get back to normal an soon!

I never  play computer games.  I spend so much time online already that if I added games I'd never be able to do anything else.

I sent another email to Mary Ann's sister (or to Mary Ann's old email address) yesterday, asking her for an update on Mary Ann's condition.  I hope she sees it and answers it.  This not knowing is hard!

Have a great Palm Sunday!

It has been raining forever here and because the frost is so deep it is not soaking into the ground much.  So we have huge puddles out back.  If it continues to rain all day tomorrow then I will post pone getting my blood checked.  Do not want to take any chances, you know that shit melts too, lol.

Dorothy, I too wrote to Mary Ann's email addy asking for more info.  I hate not knowing and I know annnieM does not go on her computer all that much.  I wish she would. I know her life is busy, but we have no idea what is going on with her.  Really miss her.  Seems so silly doing all this for you and I, though I do like it all.  But I wish there were more here to chat.

Mom made us steaks tonight and they were delish!  Nice and tender and tasty. This afternoon we made pickled cucumber slices and tomatoes in a vinegar and oil dressing and we had both with our steak, along with hashbrowns and celery and radishes.  A very satisfying meal...I love having all the fresh veggies.

That border that is so skinny is from the Easter section of our borders.  It is not one I made, lol.  No clue why it stayed small and I swear it posted smaller than it was when I wrote.  Too weird.  How did Aimoo get rid of your cheat sheets?  If I had a clue how to make them I would.  But I do not even know how to use them, lol.

I made a page to promote the shop sponsor for Aimoo and I let Alice know.  I hope she will give us the extra one month diamond status even though I am not the owner.  Keep your fingers crossed.  :)

I chose this border and then could not find anything Eastery to match.  So went with Kitty!!

Have a Memorable Monday!

Hugs,

Good Morning!

I managed to have another totally crappy night's sleep last night even though I did take a Benedryl.  I think I'll just give up and live in bed all day and stay up and read all night from now on.  Grrrr.

It snowed like a son of a gun all day yesterday, but because it had been so warm the previous days, not a lot stuck to the pavement.  It's bitterly cold again today but supposed to be back in the 50s tomorrow.

We finished watching Peter and Paul yesterday and it was good and inspiring.  Mike wants to watch Ben Hur during Easter Week, too.

I share your wish that annnieM could come in more often ~ or at all ~ and let us know how she is doing, AND that we could find out how Mary Ann is.   I miss Bonnie, too.

It is a lot of work for you to do to keep the place looking so pretty for just the two of us.  I love what you do, but please don't feel like you HAVE to do it!  Perhaps it isn't worth keeping Cuppa open, though I do love chatting with you and I don't think we'd talk so openly on Facebook.  We'll have to give it some thought.

I had written the actual html code for those cheat sheets, but now Aimoo has done something that trashed the code and just left lines.  It's been so long since I wrote the code that I can't begin to remember how to do it anymore.   I guess it's a good thing that I found Tagbot back then, even though I almost never used it.

Have a great week!

HELLO DOROTHY AND ANYONE ELSE THAT MIGHT WANDER IN.  WE TOO GOT SNOW BUT NOT NEARLY AS MUCH AS YOU DID.  BUT OUR BASEMENT IS FLOODED.  THANK GOODNESS THE ROOM WE USE FOR STORAGE IS HIGHER THAN THE OTHERS AND IT DOES NOT GO IN THERE.  SO MANY ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING WITH FLOODING.

I SLEPT LIKE THE DEAD.  IN MY RECLINER AROUND AND SLEPT UNTIL 9:45.  I REMEMBER WAKING AT 7 SOMETHING AND THINKING I SHOULD GET UP AND THE NEXT THING I KNEW IT WAS NEARLY 10.  WOW, WISH I COULD PASS THAT ON TO YOU DOROTHY.  I WANT FOR YOU TO SLEEP.  HAVE YOU THOUGHT OF ASKING YOUR DOCTOR FOR A STRONGER SLEEPING PILL THAN YOU CAN GET OVER THE COUNTER.  I WISH THE BENEDRYL WOULD WORK FOR YOU.

I WAS THINKING ABOUT BONNIE TOO AND KATHY AND BUBS AND BARB. WHY DO THEY NOT COME IN.  I THOUGHT BARB WAS GOING TO BUT SHE QUIT AS QUICK AS SHE STARTED.  I MISS THEM ALL.  I DO NOT WANT TO CLOSE THE GROUP.  YOU ARE RIGHT THAT I WOULD NOT SPEAK SO OPENLY ON FACE BOOK, ETC.  AND I LIKE KNOWING YOU WILL BE HEAR AND SHARING YOUR LIFE WITH ME,  I MAY LESSEN THE PAGE AND MAKE IT NOT SO INVOLVED.  IT IS TIME CONSUMING BUT IT IS A LABOR OF LOVE.  IT WOULD BE MORE FUN IF IT WAS MORE LIKE IT USED TO BE.  BUT WE DO NOT ALWAYS GET WHAT WE WANT, DO WE.  THANK YOU FOR STAYING AND BEING MY FRIEND.  I LOVE YOU.

Happy Easter, Happy Spring   You know ~ that brief period of time between snow and freezing weather.

5 lovely  hours of sleep last night.  I'll take it!  I fell asleep watching a Miss Marple last night, but woke up to watch the end and then got up at 12:30 to see the Red Moon.  Nice try, but while I'd found the time schedule, I missed the trajectory.  The moon was no where to be found ~ maybe directly overhead?  I didn't go outside to find out, so I missed it.

Lou Ann, I'm sorry to hear your basement is flooded ~ but glad the things you have stored weren't effected.  I hope you can do something with the flood waters before they make everything musty.

I didn't take a pill and still got a good 5 hours of sleep.  Not a banquet, but more than a snack.  I'll take it, and hope for more.

I'm glad you feel as I do and don't want to close the group, though I don't want it to be too much work for you for just the two of us.  If you have fun playing with things, that's great and you know I love seeing what you do, but if you don't feel like it, don't do it!

I love being able to chat with you, and there is always the hope, admittedly rather dim, that some of our other friends will find their way back to us.

Barb is still active in the other group, she puts up the new month pages and celebrations for members, but ~ and I don't think I'm speaking out of turn ~ she has been diagnosed with kidney failure and threatened with dialysis.  She has a great (and handsome) kidney Dr who is not rushing her on to dialysis like her previous kidney Dr would have, but it's seeming like something inevitable.   SEEMING, being the operative word.  We're praying like mad that her kidneys heal and she never has to face that.  She's resigned and handling it well, but still hopeful.  I'm believing for her healing.  It came on so fast.

I hate that everyone has been dealing with such difficult health problems.   We gotta all get well and stay that way!

Love you back!
