RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:03/31/2014 10:09 PM)

TODAY WAS NOT A GOOD DAY FOR ME.  I WENT TO THE PULMONOLOGIST.  I WAS TOLD TO ARRIVE EARLY BY DOCTOR JOHNSON'S NURSE FOR FILLING OUT PAPERWORK SINCE IT HAD BEEN SO LONG SINCE I HAD SEEN HIM LAST.  IT WAS 2009.  SO I ASKED LOUANN TO PICK ME UP AT 12:15PM FOR A 1PM APPT.  SHE ARRIVED EARLY AND AWAY WE WENT.  WE GOT ME REGISTERED AND HAD SO MUCH TIME THAT WE LOOKED THOUGH A CANDY FUNDRAISER THE HOSPITAL VOLUNTEERS WERE PUTTING ON.  BUT NEITHER OF US BOUGHT ANYTHING.  IT WAS EXPENSIVE BUT IT ALL LOOKED SO GOOD.  I WANTED IT ALL, LOL.  THEN WE WENT UP TO THE FLOOR TO THE PULMONARY SECTION AND CHECKED IN.  I DID NOT HAVE TO DO ANY PAPERWORK...SO WE HAD A HALF HOUR TILL MY APPT.  WHEN I SET UP THE APPT I THOUGHT THAT 1PM WOULD BE THE FIRST APPT AFTER LUNCH AND THAT WE MIGHT GET IN EARLY OR AT LEAST ON TIME.  I WAS WRONG.  THEY CAME AND GOT ME ABOUT 1:10PM.  THE NURSE WENT OVER MY MEDS WITH ME AND THAT WAS IT.  WAIT SHE DID CHECK MY PULSE OXIMETRY WHICH WAS PRETTY GOOD AT 95.  SHE DID NOT CHECK MY BLOOD PRESSURE, ETC.  THEN I WAITED AND WAITED FOR THE DR TO COME IN.  BEFORE HE CAME IN HE READ OVER MY OLD CHART FROM WHEN I HAD SEEN HIM BEFORE AND MY NEW STUFF WITH THE HOSPITAL STAY AND FOLLOW UPS.  SO HE TALKED ABOUT MY DIAGNOSES...COPD, ASTHMA AND SLEEP APNEA.  SO THEN HE ASKS IF I AM STILL USING MY C-PAP.  NO, COULD NOT STAND IT OR AFFORD IT.  HE SAYS THEY HAVE NEW HYBRID MASKS THAT ARE MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE.  BUT SINCE IT HAS BEEN SO LONG I NEED TO TO THE SLEEP STUDY AGAIN. OMG, NO!  BUT HE SAYS I CAN SLEEP IN A RECLINER AND I REALLY NEED TO DO THIS.  SO OK...I HATE IT.  AND WHAT WILL THE CPAP COST ME...I PAY $41 A MONTH NOW FOR THE OXYGEN.  THEN HE SAYS I NEED TO HAVE A PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST...WHICH I DO NOT LIKE EITHER...BUT HE NEEDS TO KNOW WHERE I AM.  HE CANNOT ADDRESS ANY OF MY MEDS ETC UNTIL HE HAS GATHERED ALL THIS INFO.  SO PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST IS SET UP FOR MAY 19TH AND AFTER IT, I SEE DR. HATAHET.  I WILL GET THE SLEEP STUDY BEFORE THEN SO THAT HE HAS ALL THE INFO AT THE APPT AND CAN ADDRESS MY ISSUES.  I AM NOT HAPPY.  BEFORE WE LEFT I HAD MY INR DRAWN.

AFTER I WAS HOME FOR A WHILE I GOT A CALL FROM THE ANTICOAG CLINIC.  MY CLOTTING TIME WAS TOO LOW.  I WAS UNDER 1. SOMETHING OR OTHER.  CRAP!!  WHY ME?  SO CHANGE IN DOSAGE AND RECHECK IN 2 WEEKS.  AT LEAST IT WAS NOT 1 WEEK.  I WILL TAKE SMALL BLESSINGS WHERE I CAN GET THEM.

BUT AT LEAST I GOT EVERYTHING DONE FOR HERE AND I ALSO GOT THE 2ND CHALLENGE DONE FOR CDO.  SO THAT ALL MADE ME HAPPY.

TODAY, APRIL 1 IS MY HALF BIRTHDAY.  I WILL BE 47 1/2.  ALSO, AS I HAVE MENTIONED BEFORE IT WAS MY OLDER BROTHERS MICHAEL'S BIRTHDAY.  HE WAS 18 MONTHS TO THE DAY OLDER THAN ME.  IF I HAD AN APPLE OR BLACK JELLY BEANS I WOULD EAT THEM IN HIS HONOR.  THEY WERE 2 OF HIS FAVORITE THINGS.  I FIND I HAVE TROUBLE REMEMBERING SPECIFIC THINGS ABOUT HIM.  I CANNOT PICTURE HIM DOING THINGS...IT SEEMS MY MEMORIES ARE ALL PICTURES.  OH, WELL.

YOU NEED TO DO A STORE RUN AND GET THE BENEDRYL.  IT WORKS WELL FOR ME TOO.  FOUND THAT OUT WHEN THEY STARTED MY CHEMO TREATMENTS WHEN THE CANCER CAME BACK WITH BENEDRYL AND I COULD NOT STAY AWAKE FOR THE LIFE OF ME.  THOUGH IT DID NOT LAST LONG AND I WOULD BE AWAKE.  BUT IF IT HAD BEEN NIGHT TIME IT WOULD BE A LOT DIFFERENT.

I FINISHED THE LATEST SAMANTHA SWEET BOOK "SWEET PAYBACK" AND IT WAS GOOD, BUT I FIGURED OUT WHO IT WAS LONG BEFORE THEN END.  I DID NOT HAVE ALL THE DETAILS AND WHYS BUT I KNEW A COUPLE OF THE PLOT ENDS BEFORE THEY HAPPENED...THAT RARELY HAPPENS.  I AM POST BEFORE MIDNIGHT, SO NOT OFFICIALLY APRIL...BUT IT WILL BE BEFORE IT IS READ SO IT'S ALL GOOD, LOL.  HUGS,

The purple kitty in the rain coat is my Kiki, my pet in the game Pet City.  I decided to use her and tubed her, lol.

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/01/2014 8:56 AM)

Welcome to April.

The very best April Fool's Joke is that this is the anniversary of Mike's and my first date!  Definitely a long running 'joke'.  Ha!  We're going to lunch at The Hideaway to celebrate our anniversary, though I'm not really sure which one it is.  Maybe 35?  We're coming up on our 33rd wedding anniversary. How long did we 'date' before we married?  Your guess is as good as mine.  lol  We were friends and did things together before we started dating.

Yesterday I did wash the whole floor ~ or at least the part that I hadn't done the day before.  I had to take two breaks, but I got 'er done including the tile floors in the bathrooms.  I really like the way it looks, though it will take a while before I'm sure we shouldn't use the Bona anymore.  I sent Marcela a note telling her I had a new Mop System for her to use and she sounded enthused.

smiley4

So, she comes tomorrow and I think we'll have her help us unload the cabinets over the washer & dryer, then Matt comes on Thursday to move them and maybe even do some of the other things on my Honey-Do List!  The new washer and dryer is scheduled for delivery the following week, on the 17th, so we should be all ready for them.

BTW ~~ I got a glorious 6 hours of sleep last night! I know we had talked about doing more physical work during the day maybe helping me sleep.  If my dumb back just didn't hurt so darned much when I do.

The people who bought Sherri's house across the street are moving in.  I think today is the official day, but they started moving things in yesterday afternoon.  I met the man, Steve, when I went out to get the mail.  Seems nice and friendly, smokes a pipe.

We're supposed to get into the mid 50s today and then have rain in the afternoon.  There was supposed to be freezing rain overnight, but I don't know if that happened.  Hard to think of anything freezing when sandwiched in between warm days.  We are supposed to get cold and have snow by Thursday, but I doubt it will amount to much.   I just hope the wind has really died down.  It was pretty steadily 32 mph yesterday, but with gusts of 70 - 80 mph!  It's a wonder the house is still standing!

smiley20

Lou Ann, you did get the skin done and it's lovely!  AND you got your welcome April Page done as well.  AND another lovely present for us!  You are too much!  Thank you, thank you, and thank you!!

I see this is Golden Rule Week ~ wouldn't it be nice if everyone honored this week?   I did know that April Fool's Day and Atheist Day were both on the same day.  I'll say no more.   LOL

I'm so sorry your day with the Doctor was so not what you'd hoped for, and that you have to do the testing and such all over and may have to go back to sleeping in a mask.  I'm glad you stressed to him that you can't afford things.  There should be ways they know to help with the expenses that we don't have access to.

Ok, I'm apparently having a slow day.  47.5 Half Birthday??  I couldn't work it out by any formula I tried.   I don't remember your talking about your older brother.  I'm assuming he died.  How long has it been?

My brother Bob was 9 years older than me, and he was 54 when he had a heart attack and died.  He was planning to leave that morning to drive from Denver to our home in Omaha where he would meet his daughter Mary Ann who was driving with the kids from Wisconsin.  Then they would all drive back to Denver for the week.  Instead I got a call at work that he had died.  Mary Ann was on the road and didn't know, so I had to greet her with that information when she arrived at my house.  I bought plane tickets for us and we flew to Denver for the funeral.  Mike had been working on a billing system he was installing in Des Moines, so he flew out and joined us a few days later and then he and I flew home together.  Interestingly, when I had my cardiac arrest and died for just a tiny while, it was on the same day, April 10th, 11 years later.  I was 56,

I am two Samantha Sweet books behind.  I'm behind in EVERYTHING!

Happy April Fool's Day, everyone!

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/01/2014 8:29 PM)

  Happy April Fools Day!
First off, I lied about my age...unitentionally!  I am 57.5 today.  It has been 6 months since my birthday, lol.  I was born exactly 18 months after Mike.  So that is why I say half birthday.  I have talked about Mike.  He was the first born and he had a form of retardation that I can never remember the name of.  We only know because Diane teaches learning disabled of all kinds and when attending a seminar they talked about it and they all have the same facial features...not like Down's.  I once saw a man who looked just like my brother only older...it freaked me out until we learned about this.  He died when I entered my Senior year in school, in fact I missed the first day due to his funeral.  He was born about 2 weeks past his due date and when dad called his mom to tell her she told him she knew it was April Fool's Day and he was not fooling her.  He finally convinced her but then she was sure he was trying to fool her in regards to the sex of the baby.  His name was Thomas Michael but always went by Mike because my dad was Tom.  My dads legal name was Tommy B Weider.  Because in his day, you went to the court house to fill out the birth certificate.  He just did not care so rushed through it.  His name was supposed to be Thomas Beck Weider.  My grandfather did the same thing to like the first 5 kids and then my grandma did not let him fill them out anymore.  I never met my dads dad.  He died before Mike or I were born.  Mom was with dad but they were still in DC when it happened.  Mom met him once in a trip to Portage to meet the family before they got married.
Mike was a free spirit and loved life.  He was sitting on a merry go round watching the construction of a building.  It was the low kind they have on playgrounds that kids sit on and hold the bar and someone runs to spin it.

This is the closest I could come to the style of merry go rounds like what we had.  But they were all wood and the middle was all filled in with wood slats coming up to a low peak. You could climb up and sit on the peak.  And that is what Mike was doing.  At some point he got up to go and fell off and hit the cement at the temple of his head.  He died instantly.  He was 19.  It will be 40 years this summer that he died.  It is hard to remember him.
Today was not much better than yesterday.  I got a call from respiratory therapy and with 2 calls arranged for them to come here tomorrow to check me out for small tanks I can carry in a bag.  Then I got a call from the sleep clinic.  I said the doctor said I could sleep in a recliner.  She said we will make sure a hospital bed is available for you.  I said, No, the Dr said I could use a recliner.  Well I will have to check with a tech about that.  So she called my back and said she still needed to talk to tech but wanted to set me up.  May 20 something...I said that was not going to work as I had follow up with Dr. on May 19 and a Pulmonary Function test that same day and he wants all the results at that meeting.  She offered to put me on an on call list but I said I could not do that because of transportation issues.  I said I will just have to call Dr. Hatahet's office and get both appts rescheduled and there is still the issue of transport for them too.  So she said she wanted to check somethings and she would get back to me.  But she did not call back today.  Oh well, no hurry, it is just my life...lol.
Hugs,

PS...I forgot to say that Alice sent me an email that she added the extra month to our diamond status.

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/02/2014 7:45 PM)

Good Afternoon.  I had another no-sleep night and then Marcela came this morning.  Needless to say, it got pretty tired out.   Now I'm watching the news of the shooting at Ft Hood.  When I first saw that on TV I thought they were talking about the terrorist attack four years ago.  Horrible.

We did go out for our anniversary lunch yesterday and then last night Mike used a new recipe his sister gave us and made creamy tomato soup from scratch.  I had a cup for lunch, and it was delicious.  We'll have a bowl with toast for dinner tonight, and I posted the recipe in our Recipe area.   It's a bit sweeter than you are used to, and if you make it strictly by the recipe, you use diced tomatoes and leave them and the chopped onions asis to give a chunky effect.  Mike's brother-in-law loved that, his sister did not.  We opted to puree the tomatoes for a creamier effect.  Oh, and just to make it even better, it includes a cup of sherry!

Rather cold and overcast today and supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow.  We decided not to take the trash bin to the curb because when we'd need to pick it up in the morining  there might be snow on the driveway.

Since I'm so late posting I won't be as chatty as I normally am.  You're welcome.

Lou Ann, I'm still in shock from the news about Mary Ann.  I know I probably shouldn't be, but somehow I just didn't see that coming.

Ah, now I do understand your half birthday.  The other number kind of threw me.     I do remember the merry-go-rounds like you are talking about.  What a terrible shock to lose Mike that way.

I'm so sorry your medical news is so challenging.  They always think we can just jump through their hoops to accommodate their schedules.  Wrong-oh!  It's such a pain.   Still, you have to do what you have to do to stay healthy!

Yet another lovely tag!  I am so spoiled.  Thank you!

Matt is coming out tomorrow to raise the cabinets.   This is what the laundry room looks like now, with the utility closet at the end and the "cat's bathroom' next to it.   Other folks had folding tables and soaking tubs put in and that would have been nice, but having the litter boxes really out from underfoot is nicer.   The little cart is a folding laundry cart that you can put your laundry basket in to transport laundry to and from.  I love it.    The Shogun curled up on the mop pads that I'd left to dry.  Nice. smiley62   Garage door is opposite the machines and door to the main hall opposite the litter box.

Marcela did help Mike pack up the things that were in the cupboards and take them to the garage, so it really went fast.  She liked my new mop system, too, but even though I tried to convince her to mop with a DAMP mop and not a WET one, a woman convinced against her will is of the same opinion, still.  Ha.  I teased her about leaving foot prints and told her again that she wouldn't if she damp mopped.   We'll see what happens next time ~ but I'll bet the mop is still very wet.  Ha.

And so it goes.   I'll be praying for Mary Ann, and I know you will, too.

Dorothy, I am in shock, I did think she was getting a bit worse,

but not to this extent.  I do not recall what caused the coma

last time but would think they had things fixed.  But it seems

not.  I hope Mary Ann was not cutting corners with meds

because of cost.  I fear she might have been.  Also I do not

think her doctors were attentive enough to her issues.  But

I was not there and should not make judgements.  I made a

post where we can post prayers and candles for Mary Ann.

If nothing else, it makes me feel better to do so and pray.

As far as your tomato soup, I would like it chunky and my

mom would like it pureed.  I love chunky salsa too.  As far

as far as Marcela and the new mops...it is not that you cannot

teach an old dog new tricks, it is that the old dog has it's own

tricks and thinks it knows best, lol.

I think you will love the new washer and dryer and the set up

for them.  LOL, that little boy of yours is naughty.  You are

trying to mop up the cat hairs, not add more.  I like that you

can have your cat boxes out of the main areas.  I have always had

mine in the hall outside the bathroom.  Have never had a good spot

for them.  Here we could put it in the back room since we rarely go

in there.

Our weather is up and down.  It snowed a bit yesterday after being i

n 60's on Monday.  I had to take my coat off when I went to the doctor.

It got up to 42 today and tomorrow in the 30's. I think they are

predicting a snow storm in out future, lol.  I do not care. I now feel

the hope of Spring and nothing can take that away from me.  Well

I am calling it a night for the computer.  Started reading the new

Nora Roberts book.

Praying for Mary Ann!!

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/03/2014 6:56 AM)

Good Morning.

It was a good decision not to take the trash can to the curb last night.  By 4 AM we already had a good two inches of snow!   It will still snow a bit more, but I doubt it will stick.  Tomorrow it should be back in the 50s

On the other hand, I made a really bad decision last night.  We did get some Benedryl but by bedtime I could hardly keep my eyes open so I opted not to take it.  I don't like to take something every night (even though I hadn't had Benedryl in ages) so I thought I wouldn't take it if I didn't need it so it would be more effective when I did take it.  Sounds good ~ but i woke up just after 2 and only dozed after that.  Tonight I'm taking it no matter what!!

That soup really is delicious, but a bit different than Campbells.  Sweeter and richer flavor.  Mike's sister didn't have any Sherry on hand so she skipped that and added 6 tblsp of sugar instead of the 2 we added.

Marcela definitely has a preference for wet floors.  Initially when she started cleaning for us she used a mop and a bucket on our wood floors and left hem with puddles!   I'd always thought that was bad for wood floors but couldn't find anything online that said it was, so thinking she was the expert I didn't say anything to her for quite a while.  Then I couldn't handle it anymore and asked her to stop leaving things so wet, and she did ~ still wetter than I would, but not puddled.

It would have been great to have the soaking sink and folding table in the laundry room, but I can't tell you how I love having the litter boxes really  out of the way.  The utility closet was a bonus we got to accommodate having the liter boxes so "away" from the main traffic flow.   In the old house they were directly in front of the washer and drier and it was more than a little bit challenging.

Ah, the hope of Spring ~~ not at MY house today!   It's definitely a Winter Wonderland out there right now, but tomorrow hope returns.

I love the special thread you put up for Mary Ann.  I know we won't need to be reminded to pray for her, but this will help us focus and when she comes back she can see we never left her side.

Have a lovely Thursday.

Dorothy, I do know that none of us need that reminder to pray, but it makes me feel better to virtually light a candle for her and as you said, she will be able to see when she comes back that we thought of her every day.

We have a snowstorm in our forecast...when I am not sure.  Well, I just looked and do not see a storm in the forecast.  I see snow for Friday night, but no storm and it will be 40's Sat so it will not last.  Just as well.  I do not want snow, lol.

Tomorrow I go to the Agnesian Health Shoppe to see a respiratory therapist to check me out so that I can get the small oxygen tanks that you carry in a bag.  Hope I can, so much easier than these beasts I currently have.

I am going for the sleep study Monday night.  I am glad that I will be able to get it done and over with and not fretting over it for weeks.  This is good.  I am getting a hospital bed and not a recliner.  I have to be there at 8pm, even though I do not sleep till midnight.  And I usually sleep till 8, but have to be out at 6am.  I am taking my Ipad with me so I can read for a while to calm down.  I also intend to stay up late Sun night and get up early Mon morning.  I also may take some benedryl along with me whether they like it or not.  I would normally do a nebulizer treatment after 8 but am not taking all that with me.

I am praying that when I come in tomorrow I will see that you have had a good night sleep.  Sweet Dreams my friend.

Love,

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/03/2014 10:34 PM)

Just a quick note tonight because I have a much needed haircut tomorrow morning.  With luck, I'll get back in the afternoon.   We do plan to go out for Fish and Chips tomorrow night.

This is what this morning looked like here.  By afternoon, everything was dry, and we could have put the trash bin out the night before and taken it in in the afternoon.  Oh, well.

From the back of the house.

Matt spent three hours with us this afternoon and got the cabinets raised and all of the things on my Honey Do list done!   He installed an extra towel bar in our bathroom and a grab bar in the shower to make us gimps feel safer AND he even caulked the place where the shower floor meets the bench.  Yay!

I did take a Benedryl.  Fingers crossed that it helps!

I hope you can find a purrfect little oxygen tank so you can get out and about!

Mike has had to do the sleep study twice to keep the oxygen concentrator he uses overnight, but both times he has done it at home in his own sleeping space!   I wish you could do it that way!

I hope you had a good night's sleep, too.    I may go starkers if I don't start to get some good sleep soon.  lol

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/04/2014 11:28 PM)

Hello Cuppa Gals, are we ready for the weekend??

I went to get checked out for a more portable system for my oxygen and they said I could use the smaller tanks or maybe even a portable concentrator that runs on battery.  They just have to get my doctors ok and then I talk to them about what I want and what my insurance will cover.  So fingers crossed that I will be able to get the system I am hoping for.  Am not looking forward to the sleep study on Mon night but happy to be getting it done and over with.  Then a long wait till May 19 will I have the Pulmonary tests and see the doctor for the results for all.  So no changes in anything till then.  I have had sleep studies 2x and neither was a good experience.  Hoping for better this time.

Glad you got your cupboards raised and all the other items on your honey-do list.  This guy must be a gem to get it all done for you.  Now you are all set for your delivery.  You can keep your snow by you.  We have snow storms in the forecast for the weekend but it looks as if the snow will all be north of us.  I certainly hope so.

Getting off computer so that I can read for about 1/2 hour before going to lalaland.

Hugs,

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/05/2014 9:29 AM)

Good Morning.

I come to you this morning with a funny story about Yours Truly.  Remember me?  The one who only had my 'Dumb Cellphone' with the cheapest plan I could find in case of emergencies?  The one who really didn't understand folks spending all that money for Smart Phones so they could talk and text and do things that you can easily do on your PCs?  Who would want to be connected to the outside world 24/7, for Pete's sake?   The one who got an iPhone on trial, fully expecting to take it back?

Well lately I've been having some problems with my phone.  The touch screen often didn't respond to my touch.  I learned by researching on line to turn the phone completely off and then on again when that happened, but recently I've had to turn it off and on two or three times a day.  Then on Thursday night, my Smart Cellphone died completely, and couldn't be revived!   I tried all the tricks I knew, and then charged it overnight like I always do, but the next morning ~~~ it was time to play taps for it.

It's just a Baby, only 7 weeks old!   Yesterday morning we called Verizon to report it's untimely demise, and they had us do all the things we had already done, and finally agreed with us.  The poor baby is dead!   They will send me a new one which should arrive in 3 to 5 days, unless I wanted to pay$19.95 to get it tomorrow (today).  What did I say ~~ I'll pay the  19.95!  Get it to me tomorrow!  LOL!

Who am I, and what has this Smart Phone done with Dorothy?

I should get it by noon today.

I did get my hair cut yesterday morning, and I think it's a good cut.  Much shorter than she cut it the previous time, and I went six weeks instead of my usual five between appointments.  I was lookin' pretty shaggy.   This is the new me ~ but not a "selfie" cuz my phone is dead.

Ok. Definitely not one of life's great beauties, but I do like the cut, and the cat is cute.  smiley67   She did NOT want to pose for the camera, but to curl up on mom's lap and go to sleep.  Ha.

After my haircut Mike decided to go for some groceries.  He shopped and I sat in the car and read.  Good job to get done but he got pretty tired so we opted not to go out for dinner but to have some more of that tomato soup instead.  Would you believe there is still some left for us to freeze?

I did take a Benedryl last night AND the night before, and I slept much better.  Not straight through, but a whole lot better than I had been.

Thank you for yet another beautiful Tag!!!!!!

I hope and will say a little prayer that you get the smallest and most convenient portable oxygen system so you can be free to come and go as you please!

I'm sorry you can't do the sleep study at home.  Even that doesn't 'help' you sleep, but I would think you'd sleep so much better than in a hospital bed.  It seems like sleeping in a situation that you would NOT sleep in normally would skew the results, but what do I know?   Not much.

smiley19

Have a Swell Saturday all.  My Smart phone should be here soon!  LOL LOL LOL

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/05/2014 8:38 PM)

Big news!!!  Louann just called me and Kirstie is in labor.  Baby Liam is coming into this world a little early.  He was due the 18th, but when she saw the doctor this week she was 3cm dilated, 80% thinned and head was low.  She said she might be having Liam sooner and she is. lol.  Louann is going to text me when he is born in case it is late.
Dorothy and your smart phone crack me up.  I knew you would like it once you learned all the fun things you can do on it.  I need your number as I might want to send you an occasional text message, lol.
Your hair cut looks good.  Quit trying to hide behind Crystie, lol.  No more saying you are fat!!!  If you are fat, that would make my ginormous!!  Is that a real word??  It did not flag it as misspelled.
Yesterdays tag was a challenge to use one of Rosa's Cluster Frames and make a tag with it.  Todays challenge was a three by three challenge.  We needed to use 3 different shapes, 3 different colors and 3 different Plugins.  So this is what I came up with.  shapes: heart, square and rectangle
colors: yellow, purple and green
Plugins: Eye Candy 4000 gradient glow
Distortion Effects-Twirl and Mosaic-Glass
Hugs,

Have a great day tomorrow my dear friend.

Good Morning.

Two weeks until Easter.  I'd better start using Easter tags.

So the Smart phone replacement came at 10 AM yesterday, and Mike just took it and started playing.  First he removed the SIM card from the broken phone and put it into the new one, then he downloaded things that had been saved to "the Cloud", so by the time he was finished most of my settings and saved things had been restored.   I had to add several Apps like Facebook and Twitter back and change some settings and such, but most everything is back to pre-broken status.  I think.   I did lose some photos that were still on my 'camera roll', and I think that's Mike's fault.  He does love to play!   He had changed my phone's name (to one I wouldn't have used) and inadvertently created two phones or phone names, and I can't 'merge' the two.  I think that's what happened to the photos, but I'm not sure.  I'll continue to try to get them back, but I'm becoming less hopeful.  I also lost my reminders for some reason, though my calendar entries were still intact.  I hope I also entered them into my little calendar notebook.    Anyway, after about three hours, I was mostly back to pre-broken.  Then I kept playing to be sure everything was still there.   It took a chunk out of my day, but I wasn't doing anything exciting anyway and it gave me an excuse not to re-wash the wood floors.

smiley15

Yet ANOTHER lovely present!  You do realize you're creating a monster, don't you?   I will expect a present every time I come in!     Lovely tag.  Thank you!!

Do we have a baby yet?    How exciting!

I have definitely been laughing at myself, feeling like I couldn't wait 5 days to have my Cell replaced!  I would have laughed at any of you before, and now I 'are' one!  Ha.

I'm glad I don't appear as fat as I am in those pics, but you did notice that I cut my head off ~ or rather that I cut my body off.  LOL

So, you don't have any trouble sending text messages?   I mis-type all the time and when I'm actually 'talking' to someone, it's worse.  I know they are waiting for me to respond so I try to go fast and I create words that have never been seen in ANY language.   I have Auto-Correct turned off so I won't send porno messages ~~ we've all seen the funny things that auto-correct sends out.  It still gives me a bit of help, but doesn't insert words that I had no intention of using.   Anyway, I will never know how y'all carry on coherent conversations with our thumbs.  I'll email you my number.

Thanks again for the lovely tag!

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/07/2014 8:55 AM)

Last night's rather strange sky over Denver ~

It would probably have been a better picture if I had actually gotten up out of my chair to take it.

Snow was predicted for overnight, but it didn't happen.  The deck was wet and the sunrise was very pretty.

Very low key day yesterday.  Mike made a new recipe for Taco Bake which I will share in our recipe center.  It was pretty good, and seemed pretty easy to make.

Our Party Central neighborhood is becoming more challenging again.  Of course on the other hand you know I'd feel sorry for myself if no one ever invited me over.  LOL

We turned down an invitation to join a Bible Study in a home close to us.  I hate turning folks down, but we discussed it and weren't both comfortable with the time commitment and for me to go alone I'm intimidated by the two little steps with nothing to hold on to.  How sad is that.  We kept the materials and decided to perhaps do it on our own at home, as they had invited us to as an alternative to coming to the study.

Second invitation was from Sue for next month.  She and John are having a Kentucky Derby Party.  Hats are mandatory for the women, and prizes will be awarded.  I already suspected Sue of being extremely creative ~ lol.  I could come up with a hat, I think, but I'm not sure how great it would look with my normal costume of sweatshirt and jeans. smiley67   I no longer even OWN panty hose.  Ha!  Of course the other concern is that no one in this neighborhood ever sits at a party.  Everyone always stands, usually in the kitchen, and visits.  When Mike and I sit, we isolate ourselves ~~ plus there's that whole Great Opulent Buddha thing.  Sigh.

Love and Kisses, The Balsam Street Hermits.  smiley62

On another sad note, our next door neighbor, Vi, has moved to a Retirement Home.  I didn't get to know her well and feel really bad about that.  When we first moved here I was overwhelmed with trying to get the house into some kind of order, and then later she became more reclusive, and as you know Mike and I are hermits.  I wish I'd made more effort to get to know her.  Her kids are working on the house, getting it ready to put on the market to sell.

Shogun went stark, raving NUTZ yesterday morning.  First he knocked Mike's watch box off of the highboy in the bedroom while Mike was on the phone to his sister.  I redeemed it and whispered harshly at the Shogun!  Then he started running, full speed from one end of the house to the other as if the Devil Himself were chasing him ~ over and over.  I didn't want Mike's sister to hear me screaming like a Banshee, but finally I had no choice.  Really was a "What's got into that cat?!" kind of scene.  Once yelled at, he calmed right down.  Strange creatures, cats.

And that's all the news that's fit to print from Meadow Ridge.

smiley15

What wonderful pictures!   Lovely, lovely!

I hope your Sleep Lab goes so much better than you fear.  Two nights?  Really?  Fingers crossed for you!!

RE:WELCOME TO APRIL
(Date Posted:04/07/2014 8:52 PM)

No, Dorothy, did I write that?  It is just the one night.
I am sitting here with electrodes stuck to me everywhere.
My head, behind my ears, on my sides on my legs and on my throat
Also a band around my chest and around my waist...
I am surprised they could find it since I am built like Jabba the Hut.
I am on my iPad so cannot copy and paste,
at least I do not know how to anyway.
I am hoping this night goes fast.
Not sure what time they are going to make me go to bed,
But it will probably be soon since they will get me up ay 6 am.
Kirstie and baby are home and all are doing well.
I really hope to get to see him soon.
I know all about the isolation of sitting.  I go to the living room to sit
In the recliner and everyone else hangs out in the kitchen snacking
And talking and I feel more left out than if I had stayed home.
But I go so that they do not feel I am ignoring them or neglecting them.
Even though that is exactly what they do to me.
Have a wonderful Tuesday and I will talk to you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lou Ann
