RE:SEPTEMBER SIGN IN
(Date Posted:09/25/2013 9:37 PM)

Another beautiful day in Wisconsin. Temperatures hovered right
around the 70 mark. Just wonderful. The new woman, Christine
started moving into the small apt today. She will finish moving
on the weekend, but she is spending the night. She seems very
nice. Hope first impressions are correct. I am tired of dealing
with fruitcakes.
Dorothy, I finally was able to adjust the thread page, so that
is fixed.  Now you have this new issue. But it is not new to me.
It used to happen to me all the time.  If I deleted or back-
spaced, it would highlight my text.  I remember asking you all
if it ever happened to you. It has not happened to me in a long
time.
That is so lovely that you are having company for Thanksgiving.
I know you will enjoy it, but you will also fret over it all until
the day after she leaves and then you will still worry that you
did not do something you could have to have made her stay
better and that is pure nonsense!!! LOL  We should start a
worry warts club. You can be President and I will be the
Secretary. I think Mary Ann and annnieM will have to just be
members, they are not here often enough to be officers.
Finn is 18 months old now and I have pictures.  Will just
share a couple of them.

He is just so darn cute.
I will share a couple more tomorrow.
Hugs,

RE:SEPTEMBER SIGN IN
(Date Posted:09/26/2013 9:09 AM)

Good Morning Everyone.

Looks to be another nice day, high of 75, no rain.  I'll take it.  I can hear the Men from Gar-bage as we speak.  We took the trash and recycle bins to the curb last night so we didn't have to worry about getting them out so early this morning.

Mike plans to take the Lincoln for it's Oil Change and hopefully a bath this morning, and I plan to do some laundry and then maybe "plant" my artificial mums in the pots in front of the house.  I need Mike to help me transport them, so we'll probably do it this afternoon.  (We'll see. ha.)

When Marcela came yesterday, she brought us a pound of Dunkin Donugs Strawberry Shortcake Coffee.  She really likes it and thought we would, too.  I wasn't so sure.  I don't think we'd ever have bought it, and my first sip this morning confirmed that.  Just not my cuppa ~~ but wait!  Two or three sips later and I'm really liking it!  Who knew?   So now we have another flavored coffee to add to our larder.  It really does taste like strawberry shortcake ~ I'd never have guessed that I would like that in a coffee.

 photo sunflower_1_zpsc5ced832.gif

Lou Ann, you know me too well ~ lol.  That is exactly what will happen with our company.  I like the idea of the Club and I'm sure I can handle President's duties.  Ha!

OhMyGosh!  Finn is more adorable every time I see him!  Too cute for words!  That punkin is way bigger than he is.

I'm glad your new neighbor seems nice, and I hope she really is.  I forgot to mention your Landlord yesterday.  He definitely sounds . . . . Interesting.

 Have a Happy Day.

I just got a note from our Bubs and I wanted to share part of it.  We need to keep her in our prayers, bless her heart.  (Literally!)

"I had open heart surgery Sept 4th. A double bypass. My mom and 2 of my brothers had surgery when they were 50. I panicked turning 50 and my doctor did a stress test and all was fine. Since I’ll be 60 in November I wanted to make sure all was still fine but here I am.
Recovery is slow but I’m also impatient....LOL!  I started cardio rehab this week which is helping."

RE:SEPTEMBER SIGN IN
(Date Posted:09/26/2013 8:26 PM)

Ok, 3 times the charm.  Have lost this twice and was going to
give it up.  But decided to give it another try.  Glad I did as now
I can start sending prayers up for Bubs.  I am surprised that no
one told us sooner.
It was a beautiful fall day but we are heading into an Indian'
Summer over the weekend.  Up into low 80's, I just hope it will
not be humid.  Really do not want to close up and turn AC on.
Now, mind you, I do not like coffee to begin with, but
Strawberry Shortcake Coffee just sounds awful to me.  But I
never say never because you just never know.  Now if it came
in a single serving pack so I could test it first, then perhaps I
would, but no way am going to buy a full bag of it.
Did you get your flowers "planted"?  I hope that the duct tape
does the trick so that you do not lose them again this year.
Marcella has turned out to be a diamond in the rough for you
guys.  (You can tell I am from the Great Lakes area by my
use of "you guys" lol.)
Just a few more days and I will be making Halloween borders.
I just got a collab kit and I have to check it out to see if I can
make use of it for the monthly page.  I would love to see the pages that you make for your other group.  Could you take a
screen shot to show me?
I will close by sharing a couple more Finn pics.  Actually going
to share family pics.  Papa is Reid, Louann and Bruce's oldest
child and only son, wife Tricia and of course Finn!

Hugs,

RE:SEPTEMBER SIGN IN
(Date Posted:09/27/2013 9:13 AM)

Good Morning.  It's Friday and it's lookin' a bit dreary out my window this morning.  Supposed to rain later.  Sharyl changed my hair appointment so I'm going to see her at 11, and if it isn't raining Mike and I will go for our first Pumpkin Spiced Latte' of the Season afterwards.

I did get our Artificial mums "planted" yesterday.  Because of all the trouble we had last year with the wind taking them, I anchored them down with (supposedly) clear duct tape ~ no small task, let me tell you!   I also discovered that we have about half as many plants as we need for those planters.  I bought them "late" (in July!) so they were picked over and I couldn't get as many of the same color as I would have liked, so I guess we're lucky to have what we have.  They look ok turned 'a certain way' toward the street ~~~~ for now.

Mike took the car in for it's oil change and bath and it took much longer than usual, so he was tired when he got home.  I didn't realize how tired until he started moving those big heavy pots for me.  I didn't think he was going to make it!   I wanted to get done and be done with it, but I told him we could wait for another day.  We knew we probably couldn't do it today because of the expected rain, and tomorrow we're invited to a party, so he wanted to push on, too.  I hate that we are both so unable to hang in there and do simple things that used to be so easy.  May have to rethink planting the pots next year.   smiley53

smiley71

Lou Ann, LOL,I'm a serious coffee drinker, but I would never in a million years have selected Strawberry Shortcake Coffee to drink.  It really does sound awful.  First taste wasn't too great either, but after that, I really enjoyed it.  Wouldn't want it every day, tho.   We drink a lot of flavored coffees. Usually the flavored coffees don't really taste like whatever the flavor is ~ they just make the coffee richer.  One of our old favorites was Snickerdoodle, which sounded absolutely awful to me ~ until I tasted it.  I mean, who wants their coffee to taste like a cookie?  Not me!  However, while you can taste a hint of chocolate and a hint of cinnamon, you aren't really aware of those flavors when you are drinking it.  The coffee just tastes rich and wonderful.  The one Marcela brought us is different.  You definitely think Strawberry Shortcake when you are drinking it, but I think we will really enjoy it from time to time.

I think for October's Skin I'm going to just use one from the Aimoo Diamond Member's collection.   It's Halloweeny and I am toying with the idea of putting something Fall-y up for the first two weeks and then switching ~ or not.  I do want to change the icons on the Aimoo one, I think.  They are spiders and bats.  I think I'd rather have pumpkins or fall leaves at first.  Better get started soon.  I'll try to get a screen shot when I put it up and see whatcha think.

Great pics. They're a lovely family ~ and those are some of the biggest pumpkins I've ever seen!

Happy, Happy.

Hi There Cuppa Gals...Just Driving By...

Oh please don't give up on me, I know I'm not here often enough for an officers post but I do want you to think of me as a staunch, loyal supporter...I love you all and you know that by now I hope so...Well wonders never cease!!! smiley110

I was able to get in this morning and to top it off!!! I was able to copy and paste Lou Ann's awesome background it is fantastically awesome and has a lot of bling (my fav)...I will be able to get on til the end of the month and then I will let you know when I will be 'MIA' it can't be helped...Chris and Lee one of my regular people I (visit) have only one computer and it is locked up in Lee's study I guess he's afraid of problems if anyone else gets on his computer...If I had a laptop I would be able to get on with Ann's 'WIFI' because I have her secret code, I think it would reach down the street to Chris & Lee's house...

Any who I'm hoping to be able to get on at Ann's now since she has her laptop in her study, but the thing is she is now really retired and only works like one or two days a week if she needs me she calls me but otherwise I'm on my own...

There are days my hands hurt so much I don't get online, and then there are the days 'AIMOO' IS VERY, VERY, VERY, MEAN TO ME...BOO HOO

Well Lou Ann I have to applaud you once againsmiley94 your October Page is absolutely 'SUPERB' I just love it...You are so great at that!!! How did you learn to do all this stuff??? You are way beyond me...smiley95 We are having typical fall weather here in fact nicer then usual...Beautiful sunny days with little puffy clouds, the wind is kicking up though for the last few days...Rain showers here and there but not too bad the high during the days is in the upper 70's to low 80's...Since we're having fair weather here's wishing you good luck with your new tenet...

Omg...Lou Ann you share all the photo's you want with us you know how we love photo's!!! smiley42Your little Finn reminds me of a few fairy tale characters...How about Heidi's friend on the mountain!!! How about 'BOY' in the old Tarzan movies with Johnny W. & Maureen S. the good old movies of long ago...There just a couple of boys he looks like...What a 'cutie patootie' I would love to take him home with me and spoil him rotten like a real grandma!!! LOL...

Hi Dorothy...smiley56

I took my trash out last night as well I don't want to be late getting them out to the curb...Good to take the car in and that gives you time to do the mundane house work!!! Ugh...smiley74 I wouldn't complain if I could still do all my house work but there it is...Hey Dorothy please take a picture of the front exterior of your house when the planting is done...

Well Marcella got you to 'Change' and change is good so they say...I admit sometimes it's good but there are other times there bad...I'd say the ratio is maybe 60-40%...I got some not so good 'Change' when going in to my 'Shasta Critical Care Specialist' that's where I go to my 'Nephrolgist' for my Kidney's...I am now in 'Stage 4' Renal Failure...I am not too happy right now...I need to totally revamp my diet again...My diabetes is still okay but I want to get it back down to 5.3 that's my favorite number...

As far as my Kidney's I need to be on 'Weight Watchers' meals, they are specially made for lower carbs and more veggies etc...Need to be on six mini meals a day instead of 3 meals a day...It's going to be hard, plus now I need to go in every 3 months and have labs done each time, like always more information is needed so Dr. Sam's Assistant is making changes there...I'm also going to start going in for my 'Procruit' shots twice a month instead of once a month, increasing my blood pressure pills to 50mg twice a day instead of 25.mg twice a day...

Geez Louise my head is spinning, I still need more shots in my back but I can't seem to line anybody up to take me and then drive me home and I really am supposed to have someone there for the rest of the day while I sleep off the 'I don't know what the heck happened to me' juice wears off, then I drive home just fine...

Cataracts are still in need of being dealt with...Then the 'FNP' at Dr. Sam's office told me that there is something they can do for my 'Stenosis Of The Spine' it's a surgical procedure where they go in and clean up all around your discs downfall is you don't get to go home you have to spend about 3 weeks or whatever in a care facility smiley102oh no, that scares me!!! But she says her Mother had it done at 70 and she is doing absolutely wonderful...Connie says your to young to be having to go thru this...Know I have another thing to think about!!! smiley110it sure is costly getting older too as well as pretty dangerous...Oh well what else is new...I'm now a 'Politically Correct Old Fart' I have my 'Medicare' card...

OMG!!! See there is always somebody worse off then you!!! Bless her heart indeed I will definitely keep 'Barb' in my prayers how long has this been going on??? A 'Double By Pass' no less went in to check @ 60 thinking she'd be just fine and wound up in the hospital scheduled for surgery lickety split...I'm glad to hear that 'rehab' is helping her...smiley99they really have that rehab down to a science after the heart surgery...

Dorothy...
Yep it's Friday!!! Yea!!! It's so far another 'Fall' day here plenty of sunshine beautiful day out there so far, it actually looks like the wind has died down which is good it will help out with the fires...Well here's to no rain so you & Mike can have your first 'Pumpkin Spice Latte' bottom's up...

Boy do I know what you mean Dorothy, I never had to ask for help...If the windows needed cleaning I just did it, wood for the fire just brought it in...Taking drapes down & putting back up!!! I could go on and on...I absolutely resent having to ask because people don't have the time it inconveniences them and I dislike that no end...I just got through telling the receptionist at the Dr.'s office I needed a mechanical person to follow behind me and keep me on track every day!!! Geez Louise I missed a Dr.'s appointment this morning!!! Now besides being very upset @ my Kidney functions I started my day off 'BAD'...

I'm looking forward to new 'Hlwn' borders can't wait for them...

Well guess I'll end this and sorry if I 'Bit----' too much I'm having a downer of a day...

Happy Friday All...
Healing Hugs & Prayers To One & All...

Dorothy, maybe you could just get something as a filler for your pots.
Like fall leaves or extra greenery that would not have to match the
flowers. I am sure that they are just lovely.
Another beautiful day here, got into very low 70's. The new neighbor
did some more moving in. He sister, father and brother were all helping
her.  The apt is a challenge for getting anything big into because it has
a not very wide door and a wall perpendicular to it about 3 feet away.
Couches and things have to be turned on end and angled in and shifted.
It is very tricky and many couches cannot get in the door. They even
take the door off. I think they are done with the big stuff, lol.
I have been doing Autumn all this month so next month I am going
with Halloween. Though I may wait a bit on the group header.  I
wish I could use the diamond stuff and be able to save my skins.
But not sure I would really want to reuse them, so I am good I guess.
I look forward to seeing yours. It would be nice to be able to see others.
Well bless my soul, Mary Ann!!!! Have missed you deary.  So sorry to
hear about all the changes, I know change is hard to deal with. If the
surgery would help you then I would go for it. They have not said that
I am a candidate for surgery. I have too many risk factors. But I would
do it anyway if they could make my back better so that I could walk and
stand again. Thanks for the compliments on the groups skin and my
borders. I do enjoy making them.
Today I am going to share some pictures of the house I live in. Just
think it is nice to see what I talk about.  I got the pics off of some
of the Realty sites.
Front

Back

Mom's Garden and the parking area.
Though you can see in the above photo that mom
parks right up next to the house.

  See you all tomorrow.

RE:SEPTEMBER SIGN IN
(Date Posted:09/28/2013 9:30 AM)

Good Morning.

Yesterday really looked like Summer is over here ~ dreary, misty, rainy and rather cold.  Should be nice today, no rain and a high around 67.  Ok, that's a bit cool, but still nice.

I did get my hair cut and we did get our first Pumpkin Spiced Latte of the season.  Holy Moley those things are getting expensive!  I also don't think they are low carb ~ lol.

Because it was so nasty yesterday, we just went to the drive through Starbucks near us rather than going in.  The Latte was good, but maybe a bit on the sweet side.  She quoted a price and we drove up to the window to pick it up and she only had one.  Mike said I ordered two.  She basically said 'oops' and asked for the same amount for the second one!   We thought that was not cheap but reasonable for two ~ but for only one?!?  I sure don't remember them being that expensive!   Anyway, we took them home and had them in front of the fireplace, and it was enjoyable.  We'll prob'ly wait until the Eggnog and Gingerbread Latte's are out to go again.  We really NEED one of each of them for it to seem like the Holiday Season ~~ but one may be all we can afford!  LOL

We're invited to an Open House Dessert Party at one of the new neighbor's tonight.  This house is next door to Sheri's 'old' house that she has up for sale, which is right across the street from us, so I THINK we can walk there fairly easily.  Standing once we get there is a whole 'nuther thing.     We have a card welcoming them to their new home and new neighborhood and a nice bottle of Savignon Blanc to take.  I just wish I could still anticipate attending parties with joy rather than with a vague feeling of dread.  Stand and hurt or sit and look like Buddha. Ha.

I think we're also going out to late lunch at the Bonefish.  Maybe I'll fortify with booze. smiley58

smiley1

Mary Ann, so good to see you!

I agree.  Lou Ann has been making the most beautiful borders, and I've been 'stealing' them regularly.   She also does an amazing job with the skins!

Ah, there's another reason we need to win the lottery.  You NEED a Laptop, cuz we need to be able to see you more often!

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger.   Aimoo has been horrid to all of us lately.  I just saw on Facebook that people can't get into Aimoo this morning.  I panicked when I saw that and zipped over her to see if I could ~ and thankfully I can.   Still, it IS the weekend  . . .

We are expecting delivery of a Fall wreath and garland on Monday, so once those are up I will take a picture.  The potted 'plants' don't look as good as I would like and I don't think they are positioned perfectly, but it's hard to make it look good with only that one lonely lilac bush.

Stage 4 renal failure sounds horrid, and I don't believe I'm over reacting.  I'm glad you are doing all the right things and I hope somehow you can turn this around!   Is dialysis the next step?  Will (would) you be able to get to the treatment center to get it?  I worry about you.  I really wish your dear brothers would help you more, but then it's easy for me to wish THEY would do some things for you when I'm clearly not doing anything for anyone else myself.

Wow, wouldn't it be wonderful if you could get rid of that awful back pain!  We really are all falling apart, and I don't like it one little bit!  That kind of surgery would scare me out of a year's growth, but if the pain is bad enough you do what you gotta do.

Please don't refer to yourself as Politically Correct ~ my tolerance for Politically Correct people is reduced to 'barely'. lol

smiley1

Lou Ann, I think adding leaves or something would work to make the pots look better, but I can't walk on the rock to get to them and I definitely can't bend and reach for more than 2 seconds to 'plant' the extra foliage.  I also can't ask Mike to bring the pots up to the porch for me to work on and take them back when I'm through.  I'm so used to him being big and strong, and he really is doing so well on his meds, but I have trouble realizing and remembering that he has his limitations now too, just like I do.  I can't tell you how very much I hate these damn limitations!

I need to do some checking because it's been such a long time since I started making skins, but I THINK the problem here is that you aren't the Owner or SuperAdmin, so you can't put up new skins from Aimoo.   AnnnieM would have to do that, but as I said, I think she removed herself from Owner status way back when, and she'd have to have it reinstated by Aimoo in order to make you Super Admin.   In those two capicities ~ if my aging memory serves ~ you can save or put up new skins, but as Admin, you can only tinker with existing ones put up by the owner.   I'm not saying this well, but I hope you can understand what i'm trying to say.  ha.   It makes sense in a way.  If you were a big group, you wouldn't want everyone to be able to change the skins willy-nilly, but since annnieM isn't here often and you are doing such a lovely job putting up skins for us, you should have the full authority.

When I started, I made skins 'from scratch' all the time.  Now very often I reuse one I'd made before, or use one of Aimoo's (they have many that are not restricted to only the Diamond Group's use).  Sometimes I tweak one of those just a bit, sometimes not.  I've gotten lazy, but it's nice to be able to change without all the work sometimes too.

Yup.  I just tested.  I'm an Admin here too, but when I go into "Edit Skins" I don't see "My skin collection" that is available to me as a group owner.   As a non Diamond Group owner, you would see all the skins you have saved (20 max) plus seven categories of skins that Aimoo provides.  You could select and apply one to use "as is", or apply it and then tweak it.  The only thing being a Diamond Group would add is another category of skins you can use that were made by other members.

I've made myself hold off on using Fall borders until now, and I may wait a week or so to start using Halloween borders.  Can't wait to see your new ones.  You are on FIRE, gurl!

Thank you for sharing the pictures of your house!  I've imagined it ~ and wasn't TOO far off, but it's great to see it for real and know what you are talking about!

Have a Swell Saturday, all.

Good Morning.  Looks to be a lovely day, today.

We didn't go for lunch yesterday but we did go to the party.  We were the first ones there and I made a big splash ~ I fell down on the front door and both Mike and Sue (the hostess) had to help me up. Leave it to me to make a total arse of myself by falling on said arse!   Lovely first impression.

I wish I'd taken a camera and taken pictures of all the assorted desserts she had laid out on her counter and table!  It looked like a magazine spread ~ dozens of different frosted cupcakes, a little cup with some kind of mousse and cookie and teeny tiny spoons to eat it with, cheesecakes of all sorts, fudgy desserts and more than I can remember.  Then there was coffee, red and white wine in cute plastic glasses, and other non-alcololic drinks as well.  An amazing array.

Others came shortly after we did and soon the house was full,  We sat side by side on the couch in the great room and it soon filled up with people in chairs and people standing.  As usually happens, most people stood and visited in the kitchen.  I wish we could but we didn't even try.  We visited with several people we knew and got acquainted with several we did not know.  Since we were the first ones there, we were also the first to leave, after about an hour and a half.  Nice evening.

Good Morning.

Can you believe it's already the last day of September?  I need to get someone out to wash the windows soon.  I've let it go too long and they're looking pretty bad.

Mike and I had a drink in the library last night ~ we need to do that more often.  We've kind of gotten away from it.  He put on some lovely music and I discovered a new classical group I'd never heard before ~ Amici Forever.  Gorgeous background music.  I don't play with all his music channels (Pandora and some other ones), so it's up to him to set the background music.  Last night's "concert" was lovely ~ Sissel, Enya, Amici Forever.   So, too, was my Sherry. Mike made himself a Manhattan and we had a good visit ~ and didn't have to worry about driving home afterwards. smiley58

Aw, Lou Ann, how frustrating!   I have no idea how to help with the Proxy problem and I really PRAY I don't get it.  My tolerance for all these annoying posting problems is beginning to be non-existent.  I hope you can find a solution soon!

The sky is absolutely spectacular this morning.  I really should have gotten up and gotten my camera.

Have a good day!

OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!

Oh well I guess I can't be too critical at least I have beautiful borders today but why am I unable to plop images into my post!!! I just hope that my post will show up unlike yesterday when it disappeared!!!

Since I was so rudely interrupted yesterday I will carry on...Yesterday was a wonderful fall day although it was quite breezy...Beautiful blue skies with nary a cloud in sight and sunny, sunny, sunny... smiley37Tomorrow is said to hold more of the same beautiful fall days with leaves falling and changing colors and plenty of pollen around for all of us allergy sufferers to share...smiley43

Dorothy...
O...M...G...
I'm so sorry to hear about your fall, how embarrassing can it be...I feel for you, I really do...I haven't fallen like that in front of anyone yet but I can imagine what it felt like...Are you alright??? Have you made sure you didn't hurt yourself badly??? Oh and I know when you fall like that you lose your equilibrium and have a little trouble when trying to get back up, besides being kinda like dead weight when you go to push yourself up...That is when I have the condition which I call "Dead-Butt-Itis" no kidding!!! This is a real 'Malady' whenever your 'Butt' gets lower then the rest of you, it is almost impossible for you to get up on your own!!! OMG it is so embarrassing I can tell you...

Didn't you take your cel phone along with ya??? That's what I thought you could use to take pictures while you were there...Anyway it sounds like an awesome and colorful display...I am glad you found seating for you and Mike, but having to do the same thing during parties I appreciate the fact that as you say everyone else was milling around in the kitchen which as we all know is "The Hearth Of The Home"...I'm also glad you had a good time it's better then staying home all the time...I'm a real home body too but I still like to get out and I know I need to go out our I'll get stale, OMG we can't have that now can we??? You also lose your 'Social Graces', your mind needs the exercise...

Dorothy...
Drinks in the library??? How grand yes after dinner you meet in the library for drinks, after which you have coffee...Aww the genteel life sounds really homey to me...Well now is Mike the 'Romantic' Type how 'kewl' if the answer is yes...Mood music to sooth the mind, drink for the body, and good company for the soul...Well let me tell you, you both know how to enjoy your life together and it sounds really romantic...You just keep that alive and you'll do just fine...Yes the plus to having drinks in your own library is that you don't have to worry about driving home...

Well it is what Winnie The Pooh would call a 'Blustery' day it is 63' but I'll bet there is a very chilly wind factor to today...

Healing Hugs & Prayers To All Those In Need...

I wish I could post an image here but it's not working...

WISHING EVERYONE A THANKFUL THURSDAY!!!

I AM THANKFUL I HAVE A ROOF OVER MY HEAD...

MARY ANN...
