RE:MARCH CHAT
(Date Posted:03/07/2015 8:06 PM)

I will be watching Good Witch as I chat here. So far so good.  I think I will really be enjoying this series, but I hate how short lived Hallmark series are.  Seems forever before they come back again.  We started watching Cedar Cove but I felt it got too soap opera-ish.  I like Signed, Sealed, Delivered and I love When Calls The Heart.  I think there is another one but I cannot think of it right now.  It will come to me when I least expect it.
Ooh, steak sounds good.  I want one from a restaurant.  They always taste better than home.  I love asparagus.  Best when it is cooked fresh, but we usually get canned in winter.  Speaking of which, it is getting warmer.  We are supposed to even get into the 50's at some point this week.  Maybe Spring is right around the corner.  Fingers crossed.
Suzanne took me to get my labs done this morning.  The last 3 draws I have had they cannot get it in the "spot" that has worked for years and years and ended up going into the back of my hand.  She was very gentle today, but there is always discomfort in the hand draws.  So I am considering going to anticoag for the finger pricks.   I already have to do that 4 times a day and I have even
bruised my fingers a few times.  I will find out on Monday what they are.  I had better send Louann a reminder email.
I love that you had a Kennedy experience.  I never liked Ted. I heard and read so much about Chappaquiddick.  I would never trust the man.  It really is wrong when people have enough money and power to cover things up and you and I would go to jail for.  And I think most politics are corrupt one way or another.  They all have cover ups and makes deals under the table and so many things that just are not right. I respect some of the things that Walker has done, but I also saw what some of those cuts did to people.  In my heart I cannot trust him.  If he ends up running for President I will certainly not vote for him.  I do not like dictators who do not listen to the people they represent, unless they are rich.  This is my opinion and nothing more.  But I cannot help the way I feel.  We will see, hopefully he will not get the Republican nomination.
Going out to Joanne's for Jason's birthday, he turned 16 this past week.  He has an appt on the 11th to go for his drivers license. We are keeping fingers crossed. It would free up so much time for Joanne if he could drive himself. They have the car they bought for Josh to use until he bought his truck.  So he will have a car at his disposal.  So fingers crossed for that too.
All right, Good Witch ended far too soon.  Even mom was disappointed that it was done.  We have a keeper.
Have a great day tomorrow.
Hugs,

RE:MARCH CHAT
(Date Posted:03/08/2015 10:12 AM)

Off to a late start today. Yesterday I kinda jumped the gun with the time change.  We didn't actually change anything.  The electric clocks change automatically, and I THOUGHT they had Sprung Ahead, but they hadn't.  They knew what they were doing if I didn't.  Now this morning they really did spring ahead, and we need to change the few clocks and watches that need changing.   Once again I'm not dressed yet. Bad Dorothy.

Last night my friend Faye in Ohio texted me from the hospital and we "talked" off and on for about an hour.  She has had so many really terrible illnesses over the years, and she has been recovering from her latest surgery at home. Then yesterday she had what sounded like a stroke, but I don't know for sure yet.   Anyway, this morning I shared what she told me with another friend and then she called me and told me all the things that have been going on with her.  Then I shared Faye's messages with the other group, and now I'm here.  Way behind as usual, but with good reasons.

Honestly, I am so lucky.  I definitely have my "issues" and Mike has his and sometimes we feel a bit put upon ~~ then we look around and realize how lucky we are.

Were you watching the Good Witch movies or the new series?  I kind of like the new series, so far.    I hate how short ALL the series are, and then they are gone and then back and I miss the first episodes because I didn't know they were back and . . . . . really hate this way of doing business, but nobody asked me.  I'm not part of the acceptable demographic.

I tried watching Cedar Cove but didn't stay with it.  Haven't seen the other two you mention.  I'll look for them.

I hate the hand blood draws too.  They always hurt and bruise.  I actually saw a vein in my right arm the other day!  For years I've been convinced that the only veins in my whole body are the little butterfly veins in my left bicep, and I've wondered how a body can function with no veins.  LOL

I don't know if you would like it or not. but we have Binge Watched "House of Cards" on Netflix.  I'm pretty sure your mom would not.  It's compelling and you can really get hooked, but it is political corruption in the extreme.  Sad thing is that I really believe it isn't too far from the truth.

I'm surprised that Walker has risen to the top of the contenders list so fast ~ or at all.  I still suspect he won't get the nomination, but we'll see.  I really can't see how Jeb Bush could get the nomination either, but I've been wrong before.   He and Hillary are the ones with the money and that seems to be what matters.

There are several that I would like to see, but I don't think any of them have a chance.  The Republicans seem to always want to run Democrat Light rather than Conservative.  I think it would be nice to have a real choice, but I don't expect it.  I would sure love to be able to vote FOR instead of just AGAINST once more, but anything that gets us out from under our current dictatorship.  I honestly never believed it was possible that America could become a dictatorship ~~ shows how much I know.

Happy Birthday to Jason!  Have a great time at the party.

Thanks so much for yet another lovely tag!

Have a Happy Sunday.

RE:MARCH CHAT
(Date Posted:03/08/2015 10:25 PM)

Going to Joanne's often sucks for me. I cannot sit in the dining area where all the women seem to gather. The chairs are uncomfortable and to plug in my O2 would mean running a cord where people walk and that is a disaster waiting to happen. So I end up in the living room were testosterone runs amuck.  They never stay on one channel...and were hopping between sporting events and some cartoon of Mike Tyson.  Arghh.  Thank goodness that I brought my Ipad along and was playing around on it.  The good thing about being in the living room is not being in reach of all the goodies that she puts out.  I was a good girl.  I had a brat, with no bun.  Just a small amount of cheesy potatoes and lots of raw veggies.  Totally passed on the baked beans.  I did however indulge in the dirt cake dessert and it was delicious.  Not like ones I have had before.  This one had lots of what tasted like chocolate mousse and the crushed oreos.  I do not recall there being so much of the "mousse" in others.  And I did not see any of the white bits from the oreos that are usually in dirt cake.  I will have to ask her about her recipe because it was awesome.  We were there for 4 hours.  We came home when I insisted that I needed to go.  We would have left earlier, but all the Schneider side came after us and blocked us in.  So I asked for some to move so we could go.  Suz took me and Brent took mom.  Both could only take one person.  Both have 2 door cars and mom and I would never be able to get in the back.  But it all worked out.  We had salads for supper.  And my blood sugar was fine at supper so no harm other than the calories, lol.
I do not see Obama as a dictator.  I see him as a man trying to get things done with no help or cooperation from others.  I hate how much power money has in politics.  I think they should have a set amount of money that parties are allowed to use to endorse their candidates and that they cannot go over it.  And it should not be an astronomical amount.  Let's put everyone on equal footing.  It seems that those I like and trust are not interested in being President. Not that I blame them. It is a thankless job and no one can make everyone happy and sometimes you just have to do something whether you like it or not.
We were watching the Good Witch series.  I like it so far. I get such a kick out of Martha.  Especially since she is Mayor.  She is a joy to watch since she is such a joke, lol.  When Calls the Heart is about a young socialite that goes out and takes a teaching job in a mining town.  Lot's of corruption since the Man who owns the mine runs everything and is just out to make a buck.  She has fallen in love with a Mountie who is trying to help the people of the community and keep the mine owner in check.  Signed, Sealed and Delivered is fun, it is a Post Office dept that tries to solve the mystery of letters that have been damaged or misdirected, etc and you can no longer tell where they are supposed to go and get them to where they belong.  It is a feel good show.
Tomorrow Louann is taking me to my Dr. appt and then Nan is coming in and we are going to pick up Taco Bell and then go back to Louann's and binge watch Downton Abbey.  They will try to catch me up before we start.  They are also going out to supper but will drop me off at home first as I cannot afford to eat out twice. Have a marvelous Monday, I will try to too!

RE:MARCH CHAT
(Date Posted:03/09/2015 10:10 AM)

Our snow is fast melting, so I thought I'd better grab these snowmen before they melt. ;-)

I don't know why I was so tired all day yesterday, but I was.   We did get a fair amount done.  Laundry including 'whites' and all of our bedding, including the mattress pad and comforter/bedspread and steam cleaning the pillows and got everything back on the bed.  We have a King size bed.  Lovely for sleeping, wretched for making, at least for me.  I can't do it without help because the mattress is so heavy I can't lift it to tuck sheets (or mattress pad) under.

We watched The Good Wife last night and thought it was awful.  Worse  yet, I watched the whole thing!  Mike at least had the good sense to go and take a shower half way through.  lol

I can sort of relate to not being able to be where the action is at a party.  Not the same as your family gatherings of course, but in our neighborhood parties everyone stands and visits and Mike and I can't.  So we stake out some chairs and plant ourselves and hope someone will come over and talk to us.  (laugh)  They usually do, but it's not the same as being able to stay in a conversation for as long as you want and to get to know new people.  Anyway, I can at least kind of understand what you feel.

Good for you passing up on so many of the goodies and staying with your new WOE (way of eating), and being rewarded with good blood sugars!

I love that your family and friends help you with your appointments and taking you home when you need to go and all.  You really are lucky.

Do you agree with all the things Obama is doing while he is bypassing Congress?

I really believe in the balance of power so that all of our views can be represented. Obama rarely if ever represents mine, and I believe I am still a citizen of this country.  So far.   I want the three branches of government to balance each other rather than one man dictating everything for the entire Nation. I'm sure it's fine with those who share his views and want to "fundamentally change" America, but if they were on the other side and everything they believed in was being stripped away, they probably would feel more like I do.   If he's going to make Congress irrelevant, we should dismiss them and all of their staffs and close their offices and apply the savings to the National Debt, which is now over 18 trillion dollars.

Now that you describe the shows you were talking about, I have seen Signed, Sealed and Delivered a few times, and enjoyed it.  I think I would like When Calls The Heart, too.

Have fun Binge Watching Downton!  I love doing that.

Have a happy day!

Hello.

I have a long overdue haircut appointment in the morning to be followed by breakfast out and some shopping, so I'm posting tonight..

I got some laundry done and not much more today.  I lead such an exciting life ~

We got a $30 increase in our Cable bill so Mike called to see what they were willing to do about it.  They always do better when you actually go into the office, but it's such a pain.   Apparently we had some discounts that ran out and dropped off and in a month we will get an additional $15 increase, plus whatever other increases they come up with.   Grrrrr    After a lot of fiddling around, she came up with a 'deal' if we would sign up for two years.  Since we aren't planning on going anywhere ( and Mike would never give up his fast speed that we get from Comcast) we agreed.  We will get a $10 increase plus another $10 increase if we take their DVR which is much, much better than ours.  Then in a year it will go up another $30 unless we want to take out the DVR, then it will only go up $20 for the next year.  Still, less than we would have been paying and we get better set boxes than we currently have.  I think we will like the DVR.  The one we own doesn't cost us a monthly fee, but you can only record the channel you are set on, which is close to worthless.  With the new ones and the new set boxes, you can record up to 4 shows at once and watch a 5th at the same time, and then you can watch the shows you have recorded from any TV, not just the one with the DVR.   We might have gotten a better deal if we went in, but I think this is ok, and we don't have to deal with other price increases for two years.   I really hate the way they do business.

I forgot to thank you earlier for the beautiful tag ~~ Thank you!

Have a lovely day.

RE:MARCH CHAT
(Date Posted:03/09/2015 11:44 PM)

It was so nice you said it twice.  lol

I had a wonderful, wonderful day.

First off the doctors office.  It was a gloriously beautiful day.

The sun was shining and everything was melting.  It got up to

over 50 degrees today.  Then at the Dr. office Denise could

not have been happier triglycerides went from 1300

something to 300 something.  lost 11 pounds since I saw her

on February 2nd.  So now since Nov 6th I have lost 19 lbs.  It

should have been more but I will take it. The only real issue is

my kidney function. They are too high. Part of them came

down but not all, so she wants me to have a consult with a '

Nephrologist.  So oh joy, I have that to look forward to.  She

is cutting my Onglyza and Metformin in half as they are hard

on the kidneys.  If my blood sugars go up then we will deal

with it by increasing the insulin instead of the oral meds as

they are harder on the kidneys.  We will play it by ear and I

will update her as needed and see her in a month.

So then we picked up food from Taco Bell and headed out to

Louann's.  Nan was there and we all ate then the 3 of us

headed to the TV to watch Downton Abbey.  We watched 4

episodes and then they were going to go out to eat and drop

me off at home on the way.  But then Nan said we could just

pick up A&W and then watch some more Downton, lol.  So we

all agreed.  So all in all we watched 6 episodes.  We are

getting together again on the 24th to finish them up.  Then

they will  watch this season of Mr. Selfridge.  Maybe I can get

some of that in here at home before we get to it.  Bruce could

not watch any of it with us as he had to work but he did join

 us for meals.

I forgot to put distilled water on the grocery list so I will not

he able to use my C-pap tonight.  Hopefully Suz can pick me up

some tomorrow.  Off to bed now, I am falling asleep here.

Chat with you tomorrow.

Hugs,

Hahaha, you had a double post when I started the above post,

but when I had finished you had added to one of them and made

it longer.  Our cable does the same thing.  We really do not know

what we are getting and they can talk circles around us. It is easier

when someone knows what is up when they call.  I really should try

thought as it is ridiculous what we are paying.  So anyway, I really

am off to lalaland now.  Hugs, Lou Ann

RE:MARCH CHAT
(Date Posted:03/11/2015 9:32 AM)

Good Morning

LOL ~ I have no idea how I got the double post.  I posted the short one, and then decided to tell you about our 'encounter' with Comcast so I edited and added it in ~~ I thought.  The funny thing is that the short version appeared AFTER the long one.  Musta been a long day.  LOL

Busy day yesterday.  I usually get my hair cut every 5 or 6 weeks.  This time Sharyl accidentally set the next appointment for 9 weeks.  When I realized her mistake I thought I would call her later to change it, but with all the weather and other things going on, I just didn't, so my last haircut was 9 weeks ago!  Actually it held up pretty well, except for the hair over my ears which started to stick out ~~ so I whacked it off myself.  I did a good job, and it blended pretty well with the rest of my hair, except it was getting pretty long on top.  Definitely past prime time, and it feels good to have it cut and reshaped.

Then we went to the Egg and I for breakfast.  Mike had a breakfast burrito and I had my favorite Wisconsin Scramble with Swiss, Jack, Cheddar and Cream cheese.  They also serve it with either grits or hash browns (I chose grits, but only had a little) and toast or an English Muffin.  I showed restraint there, too.

The waitress oh'd and ah'd over my amethyst ring, so she got a big tip ~~ lol.  Then I oh'd and ah'd over her fingernails, which were green with various St Patrick's Day symbols on them ~ adorable!  She said she planned to put green streaks in her hair, too.  My kind of gal!

Then on to do some grocery shopping.  Mike shopped and I stayed in the car and read.  It really did Mike in though.

When we got home, I was surprised to see the stainless coffee thermos sitting, nice as you please, on the floor in front of the counter.  Could Mike have put it there for some reason?  No, of course not.  Shogun has never before been able to knock it out of the coffee maker, so what happened? Mike had reheated the previous day's coffee so we could have half a cup before we left yesterday morning, and he said he may have been distracted and just left the thermos on the counter instead of putting it back in the coffee maker.  If the pot had been glass instead of stainless, it would have shattered into a million pieces and we would probably have had to make an emergency run to the Vet with a cat or two when we came home.

When Mike went to make coffee last night, he found that the lid was broken.  Swell.  The only saving grace is that when the coffee maker died a month or so ago, we ordered one just like it and kept the thermos pot, so we are still in business.  Sigh.

Wow!  Your triglycerides dropped from 1300 to 300!  Awesome!  An 11 lb weight loss in just over a month is wonderful too.  I'm proud of you and happy FOR you!

I'm glad you are cutting down on the Metformin.  I won't pretend to really know anything, except that is the drug that wrecked Barb's kidneys.  You haven't been on it that long, so hopefully no real damage was done.  The Kidney Dr she went to first would have had her on dialysis for over a year by now, but her current one is 1000 times better and she still isn't on dialysis.  Her numbers have improved slightly and she is doing everything right.  Of course dialysis still looms in her future, but prayers really do make a difference I think.

My weight loss is a joke, and other than the fact that I am a human slug, I'm not sure why.  I'm down a big 11.5 lbs since the first of the year.  Sheesh.  Still, I plug on.

Don't you love Binge Watching a show like Downton?  Much more fun than watching one a week!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday.

,
Oh, and I forgot to say that my H1C went from 10.1 to 7.4.

Which is great, but I want to get down to 6 if I can.  Normal

range is 5-6 and she said we may not be able to get your blood

sugars to that level but it is a good goal and we are very happy

with the 7.4, well, she was anyway.  So far I do not see any

increase in my blood sugars due to the reductions in the meds.

I now have the Nephrology appt set up for the 25th of this

month. Just what I need, another $40.00 appt.  Denise is only

$10 for me but specialists are $40.00. But I do need to nip the

problem in the bud.  I do not want to be looking at dialysis.

I need a hair cut too, but was waiting for warm weather.  I

talked about putting a bright colored streak in my hair but Nan

thinks I should get a perm.  I may do that, but worry too much

scalp will show.  I will have to think on it.

We are getting together on the 24th to watch the rest of

season 5 of Downton Abbey.  I remember you saying you cried.

I hope it was happy tears, lol.  I could get my hair done then.

Naughty little boy does not want you guys to get too

complacent.
He needs to keep you both on your toes.  I do not

think he will
ever outgrow his mischievousness.  You have to love

his tenacity. He is not going to let you forget and leave

something out on the counter tops. Maybe he is just a neatness

freak, lol.

Maybe you all are going to have to commit more of your shopping

to delivery if it is getting to be too much for Mike.  Shopping is

exhausting. Has he considered using an electric cart to shop? It

would certainly be less demanding on him. I know that pride

keeps us on our feet rather than look like we need a W/C but I

have gotten used to it now since it is a necessity. I am hoping

hat taking the weight off will help me to be able to stand and

walk a little more than I am.  I am sure less weight in the front

pulling down on my back should make it easier and less painful.

You are doing great with your weight loss.  That is the kind of

loss that stays off and is not just water weight.  Good for you.

When you were complaining so much, I thought you really were

not losing anything.

Todays tag was a mask challenge.  I love this funky mask.

Hugs,

RE:MARCH CHAT
(Date Posted:03/12/2015 10:13 AM)

Good Morning.

Looks like another pretty day coming our way ~~ mid 60s.  The snow has melted by the South facing houses and most of ours, but the North facing houses are still piled high.  Really looks funny ~~ unless you are in one of the North facing houses.  Been there.  Done that.  Ha!

Last night I got the trash and recycle bins to the curb for today's pick up and it's a good thing I did because I overslept.  They've already picked up the recycles so now I just have to wait for them to pick up the trash so I can bring the cans in.  I got some laundry done and have more to do, otherwise not much going on EXCEPT . . . .

We reorder our prescriptions online and I got online last night to take care of that, but the OptimRx system had been "refreshed"  (I'll GIVE them refreshed! Growl!)  First they didn't recognize my PC and had to send me a security code to use to sign in, then they didn't have my billing information or credit card ~~ that they've had forever!  By the time I was ready to order, I saw they had changed the format and I screwed up my order.  The prescriptions need to be submitted to my Dr for renewal, and I had indicated on their annoying form that I only wanted one 90 day supply of each, rather than renewable 90 day supplies for a year.   I cancelled the order as soon as I realized what I had done, but the system ignored my cancellation and began the processing!  ACK.  Soooo, this morning I had to call and talk with someone there to get it straightened out.  At least I HOPE it's straightened out.  Not the way I wanted to start my day.   Will someone please tell the companies we order from that "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"!

A few days ago I ordered a new green table cloth with shamrocks on it, and it should come today.  I have cute ceramic St Patrick's day figurines that I used to put out, but very obviously I can't do that now.  Grrrr.  I probably can't leave the table cloth out either, but at least I can use it when we eat.  We look like we are never even aware that there is a Holiday going on anymore.  Grumble. Grumble.   The tablecloth didn't come with napkins so I ordered some paper ones. I thought they were dinner size, but they are cocktail napkins.  Guess I should have taken the time to read, huh?  Still, it will be ok.  Maybe I'll see if Barbara wants to come over one night next week and share some Irish fare with us.  I plan to make the Irish stew on Sunday or Monday, then we are going out for lunch on St Paddy's Day, and Mike will make the Corned Beef and Cabbage on Wednesday.

I'm sorry you have to add another appointment (the Nephrologist) to your schedule.  I hope it can be just a one or two time thing, but I am glad you are not waiting until you really get in trouble with your kidneys.  Seeing what Barb is going through, I don't want that for you!

We have been doing the large grocery orders via delivery, but in between we (he) goes in to pick up perishables and smaller things.  I had offered to go, but because of the way my back can be when I stand for any length of time, Mike wouldn't let me.  He hates to see a grown woman cry ~ ha.  This should have been just a small trip to the grocery store, but it took longer than expected.  We do try to get as much as we can delivered.  You'd laugh if you saw our garage.  We rival the grocery store.    Parkinson's medicines only last for a finite time, and there is a tendency for them not to last until the next dose.  You don't want to use more than you really need, because that causes the type of movement Michael J Fox has, called dyskinesia.   There is now a new time released version of the medication that has just been approved by our insurance carrier, so Mike needs to talk to his Dr about switching to that.  I'm hopeful that would help.   When the meds wear off, his balance is worse and his energy dissipates.     Of course that's My normal state, so maybe it isn't the meds.  lol  Anyway, he is feeling better today, thank goodness.   I know that both of us would have more energy and likely less balance trouble if we lost weight.

What a cute tag!  Thank you!

Mmmmmmmmmm, I made your Italian Chicken (that's what I call it, lol) tonight and we loved it.  And have it for 2 more meals.  Our crockpot was not big enough to have 6 pieces of chicken sitting on the bottom and I did not think they should be doubled up so I used the small Nesco.  Wondering about the sauce, it was really thick.  No other liquid but thick soup? It was very hard to get it to spread around.  And it did not pour over but dropped blobs of it on the chicken.  Had an issue with the temps on the Nesco, I had it on 250 but the sauce and chicken were sticking to the sides and bottom and coming apart.  It was done way early and I had to shut it down as moms thighs were falling off the bone.  We reheated for just a min in the micro when it was time to eat.  Some of the sauce had burned on the edges and stuck to the sides.  Not much sauce left at the end so could only put very little in the 2 sets of Chicken I froze.  Mom said next time we should do just 4 pieces of chicken as that will fit in my crock and we will have more sauce,  We had it with rice and cauliflower.  YUM!
Speaking a the all purpose cauliflower....we saw a cooking episode on TV where they grated the cauliflower and used it like rice.  I may have to try that one.  I love rice and it has a lot of carbs.
I know these darn websites are constantly upgrading to make the sites easier for the user, but when you have to learn it all over again then it is not easier.  They should allow users to choose for themselves and be able to stay with the old format or go with the new.  That is not asking too much.  It is just like windows operating systems and each time they change.  I think each change makes things harder to use and to find things you used.  Drives me crazy.
I hope that Mike's meds aren't starting to fail. That would be awful.  Stores are too darn big these days. You really have to be fit to run all over the place to find everything.  I miss the smaller grocery stores.  They are all gone now around here.  It is either quickie type marts or super stores. I liked the in between ones that did not take hours to shop.  Oh well, it is just like the farms....the smaller family owned farms are fading more and more and you have these huge conglomerates running huge operations.  They push family farms out of the business.  I hate that too!
Nephrology office called me today and want labs so I go to the anticoag clinic tomorrow and will have to hit the lab too! I also have to bring all of my meds to the appt...not a list, they want the actual meds.  Jeepers, give me something else to carry!  I already have the oxygen and the cane and a purse and not I need my meds.  They also expect me to give them a urine sample at the appt. I usually go just before I leave so I do not have to use the bathroom.  I will have to NOT go before going, lol.  I hate trying to get the samples...I have more than once completely missed the cup, lol.  But Dr. Fownes never checks my urine and he should with the diabetes.  So I am sure it is a good thing.  I hope it does not lead into more appts as I just cannot afford it.  I spent more than I should have at Christmas and now I am paying for it.
Todays tag was a scrap kit challenge.  It's a cutie!

Good Morning.

We were supposed to have Freezing rain today, but it looks like we've missed it.    I think we're going to the Bonefish for an early dinner tonight.  Nothing else much planned today.   What are you getting into?

I'm so glad you liked the "Italian Chicken".  We really did too.  We did double it up in the crockpot and it cooked fine. The crockpot we used is a four quart round, so the surface on the bottom isn't very large.  We melted the cream cheese and then mixed the soups, then added one layer of chicken and spooned some of the soup over it, then added the next layer and spooned some soup over that, too.  The crockpot actually creates a lot of moisture when it cooks, so we didn't add any, but I don't see why you couldn't add a little water if you want ~~~ not to much ~~ or maybe some cream.  As you mention it, we did get a little 'crust' around the edges when we called it done in six hours.  I suspect it wouldn't hurt a bit to cook it for a shorter time.

But Cauliflower??  Eeeuuuww!   LOL

I got back online at OptimRx last night just to check the status ~~ and once again they didn't have my billing information and couldn't access my account!  What the heck are they doing?!  I hope the woman I talked to was correct and everything was going in right.  She didn't ask for my billing information so it must have been there.  Sheesh.

The new Set top boxes and DVR we are supposedly getting from Comcast was all supposed to come today, but Mike just got notice that we won't get it until Monday.  Again, Sheesh!

Good luck getting your labs done.  Fingers crossed for really good results and information from the Nephrologist.   Barb has had to jump through so many hoops changing her diet because of her kidney problems.  She's worked hard and done a wonderful job, and has kept herself off of dialysis for over a year since it was first mentioned, but she has had to give up so many things.  Her kidneys were in failure and you are catching this early so hopefully all will be well.

Darling tag!  Thank you!

Have a Fabulous Friday the 13th!

Thought I would share another Shogun story with you.  We were sitting in the Great Room this morning, having coffee after I posted, and Shogun was sitting on the couch.   All of a sudden, he let out a GROWL and jumped down and ran down the hall.   Seconds later, the doorbell rang.

As you know, we get a lot of deliveries so we no longer jump up and run to answer the door, assuming the delivery person will leave 'it' on the porch and we can get it later.

When Mike went to the door to see what had been left, it was a flyer ~~ from the Jehova's Witnesses, who apparently had come to visit with us!

LOL!

It was a glorious day today.  64 degrees and I had to take my coat off.  I love it.  I know cold weather is coming back, but I am enjoying this while I can.  My INR was 2.2 and I do not go back for 4 weeks.  I am a little worried about that.  I have been on this dose for a while now and my number keeps dropping.  I was over 3, then 2.7, then 2.4 and now 2.2.  I want to linger at the halfway mark, not at the bottom of my range.  But they keep messing with my meds and me with my diet and it just seems impossible to find a happy medium.  I give Barb a lot of credit in doing so well.  I hope and pray I will not get more restrictions on my diet, so many things I already cannot eat and I think my blood sugar numbers are climbing a bit so that will mean more med changes.  But, we do what we have to do
This challenge was Think Green and it was to be green as the primary color.  But nothing Irish...no shamrocks, rainbows, leprechauns or pots of gold, lol.
Hugs,
