Mornin Everyone.
Happy Hump Day!

Marcela comes this morning. We got a lot of thunde last night, but I'm not sure we got any rain. If we didn't I need to water my poor parched pots. I fear we're heading for the low 90s today.

Lou Ann, the chicken cordon-bleu sounds yummy.  The Brussels Sprouts do not.  LOL

Mike had a bad dream during the early hours of the morning ~ let out a yelp, but then went back to sleep.   I asked him about it this morning and he said he dreamed we were at the DMV and there were 60 people ahead of us and ~~ oh, wait.  That was REAL.

Hope you got a good sleep!

Have a ~~~

Another fire, this one in our county (Jefferson) but not near us. Level 3 Evacuation (Leave now, no time to grab anything) given to some 400 families. I HATE Fire Season!

It's 97 degrees here as we speak!

What were you doing 32 years ago this morning?
I was getting married!
Like everyone, we've had some challenges, but I can't imagine facing them with anyone else, or spending the rest of my life with anyone else.

We gave each other an outrageously expensive bottle of 25 year old Scotch for our anniversary gift this year. We shared a glass in the library last night. I know most of you aren't Scotch drinkers, but I think you would all enjoy this. It was aged in an OloRosa Sherry cask and tastes like a fine liquor, slightly sweet and oh so mild. As the expression goes "Not enough o's in smooth". lol I think we may have to have another glass sometime soon.

We are going to a new to us Greek Restaurant for a late lunch.

DOROTHY, I SAW THAT PICTURE AND I THOUGHT 70'S, BUT I
WAS WRONG, LOL.  IT WAS EARLY 80'S.  IT REMINDED ME SO MUCH OF LOUANN AND BRUCE'S WEDDING PICS.  THE GROOM AND GROOMSMEN WORE BROWN.  LOUANN'S DRESS WAS OFF WHITE AND WE BRIDESMAIDS WORE RUST...I CANNOT THINK
OF WHAT THE ACTUAL COLOR NAME WAS...RUST DOES NOT SOUND PRETTY AT ALL.  i HAD AN AFRO...YES I DID.  i WANTED IT CUT BEFORE THE WEDDING BUT THEY WANTED ME TO LEAVE IT SO I DID.  I LOOK BACK NOW AND WISH I HAD CUT IT. LOL
HOPE YOUR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION GOES ON AND ON AND NEVER ENDS.
I HATE TO HEAR THAT THERE IS ANOTHER FIRE.  i AM PRAYING FOR GOD TO SEND YOU RAIN AND LOTS OF IT.  I JUST FIND FIRES LIKE YOURS TERRIFYING.  I THINK THAT BURNING TO DEATH HAS TO BE A HORRID WAY TO DIE.  OK, I DO NOT WANT TO THINK ABOUT IT.  I JUST WANT THE FIRES TO END.
NOT MUCH OF ANYTHING GOING ON HERE.  I THINK I AM GOING TO GO SIT OUTSIDE A WHILE.  CHECK IN WITH YOU ALL TOMORROW.
BIG HUGS,

Good Morning, and welcome to Summer!
(It is the first day of Summer, isn't it?)

It's currently 61 degrees here, but heading for the mid-90s again. The Lawn Guys with all their noise should be here today. I won't complain because it's nice not having to worry about mowing and triming and such, but it does make it less than pleasant if we wanted to have our coffee on the porch. Mike said he'd like to go for groceries early, so that's probably not an issue anyway.

The Greek Restaurant was a bit disappointing. Food was good but not outstanding, atmosphere nice but not outstanding either. Actually, that's probably a good thing because the restaurant is at least an hour's drive from here and since we liked but didn't love it, we won't need to go again.
We both really miss having a great Greek restaurant. The portions were huge so we brought home half of our mousaka to have for dinner tonight. Ah, another meal that keeps on giving.
We came home and shared an Ouzo in the library. Opah!

Lou Ann, thank you for the Happy Anniversary wishes!

I think there are currently 12 fires in the state!   So many homes lost, with all of the irreplacable things, so many animals both domestic and wild and so far two human lives.  I can't think of a much more terrifying and horrible way to die either.   The stories of the people who died last year were hard to even listen to.

I guess every area of the country has something weather related that is terrible ~ tornados, hurricanes, floods, fires.   I hate it all.

Ah, well.  Have a happy day, and Happy Summer!

Hi ladies!  My good intentions have not worked out.  Today I have no one bothering me so I have time and here I am.  First off, I have to post some pictures of my grandson.  We were at the park last week Wednesday, I believe.  He is now six months old and he is still adorable to me!  Last night we baby sat him so his parents could go out.  We only had him when he was awake for a couple hours and we spent that feeding him and putting him to bed.  His bedtime is 7:30 PM.  He was an angel!  We did not get any pictures.

Hi Lou Ann!  Bless your heart for coming here and visiting with Dorothy and for making new pages and everything you do!  You and Dorothy are right now " THE CUPPA GALS".  I have no idea where all the time goes!  I can't believe that little Henry is six months old!  I will be really happy if my niece and her husband call the baby Lily.  I am going to get in more often.  I just don't know when I'm going to start.  Glad that you got out with your friends and had great Mexican food!  I'm sure the reason that you missed the Borgias wasn't that you were antisocial, but probably that you want feeling well.

Hi Dorothy!  I have been very worried about the fires in Colorado.  Glad to hear that they are not in your backyard.  I also hate fire season.  We have so many bug trees right now that they will go up in flames quickly as they are dead.  Today it is gray and dripping, but still the fire danger is probably high because of the drought.  Happy anniversary a little late.  Love the old picture!  Lucy is beautiful, too!  I can't remember who she is but obviously she's a relative.  Adorable!

I have read everything even though it is impossible to catch up really well.  Hugs to all,
GrannnieM

GRANNNIEM, SO HAPPY TO HEAR FROM YOU.  YAY YOU GOT TO BABYSIT.
THAT MUST HAVE BEEN FUN WHILE IT LASTED.  YOU JUST KEEP TRYING

Good Mornng!

Last night I thought we were going to blow away! The winds looked like the pictures you see of hurricanes on TV with trees practically bending in half! I hope they stayed at our house and not in the fire zone. I haven't even turned on the news yet this morning. Mike checked his "Weather Bug" and they said the winds had been 2 mph ~~ Oh, I'm so sure! 200 mph, maybe.

Looks like another warm (hot) but pretty day ~ IF we don't get those horrid winds. We're sure not getting any rain. Darkened skies and two minutes of sprinkles and that's it.

The meat market had lovely Copper River King salmon yesterday when we went to pick up some ground beef for tacos and meatloaf and such, so we changed our plans and left those lobster tails frozen and will have salmon on the grill for our last anniversary meal tonight. It was sooo good when Barbara was here. Otherwise, it's a low key day planned at the Butcher's.

GrannieM ~ great to see you!   OMG, Henry is gorgeous!  What a beautiful, happy baby face!   Trust me, he's not just adorable to YOU.  He's adorable ~ Period!

You asked about Lucy.  She is my great great nice, now 6 weeks old.  Her dad is my great nephew Robert and her mom is the woman who lives with him.  I haven't met her ~ or Lucy yet.

My great-great nephew Jack just celebrated his first birthday at home in Minneapolis.  Hard to believe.  They grow so fast.

The Big Number-One (with "Grandma", my niece Mary Ann. That's still hard for me to believe. lol)

I hope you've been doing ok.  Did Dave take that out of town job?  Enquiring minds want to know.  smiley74

Lou Ann, the Metaxa Ouzo tastes like liquid Kookaburra Licorice.  (Other brands are good, but not quite as good).  Tempted now?  It's a clear liquid and turns milky white when poured over ice.  OPAH!

Hmmm.  Yes we do have Native American Indians, but I don't know if they've done a rain dance.  Good idea ~ nothing else seems to be working, though please continue the prayers.

Were you able to sit outside for a while?

.

Dorothy, Jack just gets cuter everyday.  I cannot believe it has been a whole year since he came into this world.  Between Jack, Henry and Lucy, I do not know which one is cuter.  All three are so adorable.  I am not a big fan of salmon, but that may be because I have never had it properly made.  I think I have only had salmon patties and did not like them at all.  I am sure it was canned salmon.  Have never had it grilled.  I am sure it is much better that way.  Yes, I did get out.  Thurs night we sat out for about and hour or so and Fri night we were out there 2 hours.  Our neighbor Tony to our east visited with us for a short while and out neighbor Della from across the street came over and visited for quite a while.  She has been quite ill and was in the hospital but it getting better.  It was good to catch up with her.  Tonight we stayed in.  I did my moms feet.  My sister Suz usually does it, but never seems to have time for us lately.  So after she showered I used a nut shell scrub on her heals and callouses and then used a sandstone block and a foot file and got all the thick hard skin off and then lotioned them good.  Wish someone would do it for me.  Mom does not have the grip to do it for me.  I guess I will ask Louann to do it.  I hate to but she never seems to mind like Suz does.  Suz used to like to do my feet and would also paint my toe nails.  But it is like pulling teeth to get now to get her to do it.  Oh well.  I cannot believe it is the 22nd already...nearly the 23rd.  Where did June go??
This is one of my letters I made for the MS event.  Please do copy or save the header.  Have a wonderful Sunday my friends.  Hugs,

Aarrgghh! I just hit the wrong key and wiped out my post, and of course I hadn't saved it.

It looks to be a nice day, low 80s and we might see rain, though I won't count on it. Back to the 90s for the rest of the week.

Mike was sick yesterday so he didn't do the salmon on the grill. In fact, he didn't eat a thing all day. He drank lots of water, which was good, but I couldn't get him to eat a bite. He's still sleeping so hopefully it's just a one day thing, whatever "it" was.

I watered the flowers and took my blood test which should have been taken on Friday, but I didn't get a lot more done. I did start the next Inspector Gamache book by Louise Penny. I really love this series and I'm savouring it. I make myself read two or three books before starting the next Gamache so I can make the series last longer.

Lou Ann, it seems like we're in a brand new Baby Boom!   So many adorable babies, and I can't get my hands on any of them.  Ha.
I wouldn't want to try to pick a "cutest baby" either.  They are all just purrrfect.

I did like salmon patties when I was young, definitely made from canned salmon.  Haven't had that in ages.   When salmon (or most other fish) are over cooked they taste fishy, and I hate that.  Of course you don't want them under cooked either ~ unless you are into sushi.  I'm kinda with Terry Bradshaw in that old add on sushi ~~ "Son, you forgot to cook this."  Ha!    Anyway, Mike does it just right and it's never fishy, though salmon does have a different flavor from other fish.

How nice that you got to sit out and visit with your neighbors.  Your neighborhood sounds like ours.

Nice of you to do your mom's feet for her.  You must both go barefoot a lot.   Mike does and his feet are not pretty.  Ha.   I am never un-shod, so my feet don't require any attention except toe nail cutting.   I used to polish them, but what's the point when I don't go barefoot or even wear sandals?  I have enough trouble staying upright with sox and my granny shoes. Ha.

Thanks for the lovely new border, and I did save the beautiful header, too!

LOL, DOROTHY, THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO SAY PLEASE DO NOT COPY OR

SHARE THE HEADER AS THEY WERE EXCLUSIVE TO THE EVENT.  BUT I AM

NOT GOING TO WORRY ABOUT IT AS SOMEONE COULD EASILY RIP MY

LETTER IF THEY WANTED THE HEADER ANYWAY.  HOT AND HUMID HERE

TODAY AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE THAT WAY THE REST OF THE

WEEK.  I HOPE THAT MIKE IS OVER WHATEVER WAS MAKING HIM ILL.

SAYING A LITTLE PRAYER FOR HIM TO BE WELL.

SUZ CALLED AND ASKED MOM FOR HER AC AS THEIRS WENT OUT.  FIRST

THEY CAME AND GOT ONE THEY STORED IN THE BASEMENT LAST

YEAR, BUT IT WORKED POORLY, SO THEN THEY GOT ONE FROM A FRIEND

OF JORDAN'S BUT THAT ONE DID NOT WORK EITHER.  I AM

SURE MOM WILL NOT GET IT BACK IN WORKING ORDER.  IT IS A ROOM

AC AND THEY WILL BE USING IT FOR THEIR WHOLE TRAILER.  I DO NOT

KNOW IF MY AC CAN HANDLE THE WHOLE PLACE HERE ALONE AS IT IS

SO OLD.  WE USUALLY RUN THEM BOTH ON HOT DAYS.  OH WELL, WILL

HAVE TO GO GET A NEW ONE IF MINE BLOWS.  I EXPECTED IT DAILY

FOR YEARS NOW, BUT IT HANGS IN THERE.

TIME TO HIT THE HAY.  HAVE A GREAT MONDAY ALL.

ANOTHER LETTER I MADE FOR THE EVENT.

HUGS,

LOU ANN

Good Morning My Friends.

We finally got that rain they've been promising us. Apparently the Heavens had been saving up because they literally erupted on us last night. Lightening (which scares me), Thunder, Hail and really hard rain. It was actually a little bit scary ~ maybe just because it was so unfamiliar. Ha. I was going to water the flower pots this morning, but I'm pretty sure I won't need to do that.

Mike felt better but still not good. He did eat a little bit. He's still sleeping.

Lou Ann, I thought you said please Do copy the header ~ LOL   Sorry.  I'll delete it as soon as I finish my post.   Your animated angel is lovely, btw.

Thanks for your prayer for Mike.

I know your mom isn't crazy about AC, but I really hate to think of you without one.  I'll keep my fingers crossed that yours hangs in there.

I think we're supposed to head back to the 90s today and for the rest of the week too.  Our only advantage is that usually we have low humidity.

Have a great day.  Sending hugs to GrannieM.

Hi ladies!  What a weekend I had!  Saturday I cannot remember at all, but Sunday we went to get groceries in the morning and then we had a wedding to go to an afternoon.  Dave misplaced invitation, so we both thought it was at 2:00 PM and went early to find the park.  After asking for directions, we still got lost.  Finally we found the park, but we were hours early.  The wedding was at 4:00 PM.  It was a second wedding for my husband's niece.  They had been living together for a year and have four children between the two of them.  The wedding announcement indicated we should give money to their Hawaii honeymoon.  Pretty tacky, I thought.  They are going to farm off the kids on grandparents, and take two weeks vacation in Hawaii.  Anyway, when we got to the wedding it looked like rain, and we had to travel clear across a park through the bumpy grass.  All during the ceremony it looked like a thunderstorm, but it held off.  Since I was in a wheelchair which would not travel well over muddy grass, we begged off the reception and left.  It started raining on the way home and once we were safe inside we had a huge thunderstorm and hail.  I hope their wedding tent held up.  Oh, yeah, the father of the bride, Dave's brother Rob, wasn't there because he is in Colorado fighting the forest fires.

Hi Lou Ann!  I have had ouzo and loved it!  I also like black licorice!  I wish that Colorado would have gotten the rain we had Sunday as I'm sure it would put out all their fires!  We had a real gully washer!  I will get to see Henry again on Wednesday and hope I will get pictures!  Love the stationery you made!  Sorry that Suz doesn't do your feet anymore.  I hope your air conditioner holds out!

Hi Dorothy!  I'm pretty sure I knew who Lucy was at one time.  Thanks for the reminder!  I love the picture of Jack with his number one balloon!  Dave did not take any out of town job, but rather got a raise and is happy.  I hope that Mike is feeling better.  I hope he feels 100% soon!  Thanks for the hugs!

Hugs back at you all,
GrannnieM

This is from another letter I made for the MS event.

I really have nothing to say.  Hot and humid here and I hate

that weather.  I do not feel like doing anything and therefore

I am bored and irritable.  And I want cooler weather.

I do not like this border I made either.  OMG, I am so

negative right now.  I will say good night and hopefully get

up in a better frame of mind tomorrow.

Hugs,
