RE:JULY SIGN IN
(Date Posted:07/26/2013 11:37 PM)

I WAS A BIT CONFUSED WHEN I GOT HERE AND FOUND NO POST FROM ME LAST NIGHT.

I KNEW I HAD READ DOROTHY'S NOTE AND THOUGHT I HAD RESPONDED.  THEN I

REMEMBERED THAT WHEN I WAS HERE I LOST INTERNET.  ACTUALLY BECAUSE WE

HAVE TRIPLE BUNDLE THROUGH CHARTER WE LOST INTERNET, TV AND PHONE.  WE

COULD NOT CONNECT TO AMAZON VIA ROKU EITHER. WE DID NOT FEEL LIKE

LOOKING FOR A MOVIE SO WE READ.  I STARTED A NEW BOOK ON MY KINDLE,

THE 3RD BOOK IN THE SEAL ISLAND TRILOGY CALLED THE SELKIE SORCERESS.

FANTASY BASED ON IRISH LEGENDS.  LOVE THEM.

THOSE LOBSTER ROLLS SOUND WONDERFUL.  THE ONLY LOBSTER I HAVE EVER

HAD WAS WHEN I WAS IN MAINE AND I HAD A LOBSTER HOAGIE THAT WAS

DELICIOUS.  IT WAS MANY YEARS AGO AND I DO NOT RECALL EXACTLY

HOW IT WAS MADE BUT I KNOW I LIKED IT.  THE CRAB ONE TOO, LOL.

WE WENT TO ONE HIGH END RESTAURANT WHILE WE WERE THERE.  NAN HAD

LOBSTER AND I HAD A SWORDFISH STEAK.  I REMEMBER IT BEING VERY GOOD

WHEN I GOT OVER BEING ABLE TO SEE SILVERY SKIN...IT TURNS ME OFF, LOL.

THAT IS WHY I LIKE BREADED OR BATTERED FISH.  SO I DO NOT SEE THAT.

THEY ARE SHOWING THE HOUSE AGAIN ON MONDAY SO IT WILL BE A GENERAL

CLEAN UP AGAIN ON SUNDAY.  ON SUNDAY MY YOUNGEST NEPHEW JAKE,

TURNS 8.  I REALLY ENJOYED HIM ON THEIR VISIT HERE.  I MAKE A CARD ON

THE COMPUTER FOR HIM WITH SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS ON IT AND TURNED

A KRABBY PATTY INTO A BIRTHDAY CAKE, LOL.  THEN PUT THE POSTCARD IN

THE CARD ANNOUNCING HIS ONE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION TO NATIONAL

GEOGRAPHIC KIDS.  HE LOVES IT.  THIS IS THE THIRD YEAR NOW THAT I

HAVE GIFTED HIM IT.  I ALWAYS CHECK WITH HIS DAD TO SEE IF HE STILL

WANTS IT AND HE SAID HELL YES, HE CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ISSUE

AND GETS SO EXCITED WHEN IT ARRIVES IN THE MAIL EACH MONTH.  I

GAVE HE AND BEN A COUPLE MORE MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR

CHRISTMAS AND I WILL HAVE TO CHECK WITH LEIGH TO SEE IF THEY WANT

THOSE SUBSCRIPTIONS RENEWED.  I CANNOT RECALL WHICH ONES I GOT

THEM.  LOL, WILL HAVE TO ASK LEIGH....OR LOOK BACK INTO MY AMAZON

ORDER HISTORY.  ANYWAY, I AM WAY OFF TRACK HERE, LOL.  TIME TO CALL

IT A NIGHT.  SWEET DREAMS TO ME :)

HUGS,

Good Morning!

It's going to be a bright, bright, sunshiney day.   I kept falling asleep while trying to watch TV last night and finally slept straight through until 5:30 AM, without even a bathroom get-up.  Yiippee Skippee!  LOL

We did go to the Bonefish for dinner last night.  I had a Georgia Peach Martini and Mike had his favorite Parker's Margarita, then we shared the Lobster Rangoons ~ yummy ~ and each had a Lobster Roll ~ even yummier.  When you are celebrating, they always give you a dessert or at least chocolate covered strawberries in whipped cream served on a platter with Happy Birthday and the Bonefish Logo written out in chocolate.  We were so stuffed that we didn't even mention that I was (still) celebrating!  Sad but true.  lol.  We did take 2 Lobster Rolls as carry out to have for dinner tonight, though.

Lou Ann, I suspect our Lobster Rolls are like your Lobster Hoagie.   Soooo good.   I can't agree with you on swordfish, though.   I had that once and really didn't like it.  Way too fishy as I remember.   I don't like shark or red snapper, either.

We used to give the kids subscriptions to National Geographic Kids, too!   I'll have to keep that in mind for Jack and Lucy in a few years.    Did I tell you that Aaron and Christina are expecting, too?   Oh, yes.  I remember I mentioned our family's new Baby Boom.  lol

Good luck with the cleaning for the new shopper!

I won't admit that I STILL didn't get the budget done.  Lord help me ~ this isn't gonna be pretty!

Have a Happy Day, everyone.

and a surprisingly dreary Sunday it is.   I rather like it!    Going to be in the mid 70's all day with a  50% chance of rain.   I'm in our bedroom with the shutters in the bay window open so I can look out onto the tree tops.

Mike is making one of my favorite breakfasts this morning ~ cheesy scrambled eggs in a croissant!  Then for dinner he is making LoneStar Steak House style Bourbon Salmon on the Grill with a sweet potato.  (Ok, I will probably contribute and make the potato ~ ha!)   Sounds like a lovely day to me.

Had a hellava time getting in here tonight.  I almost gave up and I

hope I do not regret persevering, lol.  What Dorothy?  No blowing

kisses to me?  I looked at your album on Snapfish and the pictures

are gorgeous, what a lovely area.  I seem to recall pictures of you

being there before...but I was picturing that style bed with some

white fairy lights on the upper beams of it. Am I right???  What a

beautiful sky and clouds you had for your drive, though I did notice

that you dealt with some rain somewhere along the way.  Are you able

to sleep well when you are not in your own bed?  I never did when I

would travel.  Not at first anyway, lol.  Nothing much going on here.

Suz is bringing Jordan home on Thursday this week via Amtrak.  It

was the soonest, most reasonable cost wise.  I think he should have

taken a bus to save money.  They have found a house they will be

moving into.  It is small but rental is reasonable and it has 3 bed

rooms and will allow their dog.  It has a huge backyard. The only

real downfall is it has not basement, but as Suz said, since they

lived in a mobile home, they never had one anyway.  If really bad

weather was coming they always headed in to here.  Their new

place is only about a block and a half from Jerry's work place.

The move puts Suz much closer to work also so they will save money

on gas.  Plus the homeowners are only asking for $500 security

deposit and that makes it easier for them.  I hope this all works

out for the best.  Mom has a follow up doctor appt tomorrow

and her blood was 9.7 last week so they will be checking that. I

am supposed to get my blood checked tomorrow too!  Will see if

anyone has time to take me.

We got the house cleaned today as the house is being shown again

tomorrow around 11:30 am.  I wish someone would buy it so we

would not be in limbo all the time.  I also wish I could leave when

they are coming.  It is awkward to sit here while someone walks

around looking at you stuff.  I hate it.  Well, that's it for me.

I will blow a kiss to everyone ;) mwahhhh mwahhhhh

Hugs,

RE:JULY SIGN IN
(Date Posted:07/29/2013 1:09 PM)

I'm off to a late start online, but I got a good bit done in the real world before coming here, for a change.

We placed our Grocery Store Delivery order as well as a DrugStore.com order, and I got rid of the rest of my flowers and cleaned the vase and ` well, a bunch of other little things including getting my shower early instead of late.   Now I'm ready to visit and face the day!  I have some laundry to fold that didn't get done yesterday, but not much more that HAS to be done.

While I was doing hair and makeup, I turned on the teeny tiny TV Mike got me for the bathroom and there was a B&W movie "The Rains Came".   I got hooked so came out to the Man Cave and Mike and I finished watching it.

I FINALLY got the Budget done yesterday~ almost two months!   It was as awful as I had feared.  If I ever do that to myself again, somebody please get a gun and shoot me dead!

Denver is missing!   It was there last night, but it's gone this morning!   It must have been an alien attack, or perhaps a natural disaster while we were sleeping!    Or . . . maybe the fog.  Whatever caused it, I can't see Denver from my chair in the Man Cave!      It might be possible I watch too many Sci Fi or Horror movies . . . . .

smiley3

Lou Ann, I am so used to talking to you every day, or almost every day, that I didn't think about blowing kisses to you along with our missing members.  Sorry 'bout that.

I'm so glad you could get in to see the pictures.  My friend Judy got some kind of a selling thing and left mad.   It makes me mad that they do that.

Yes, your memory is good.  We usually stay in the cabin next door with the handmade willow bed with the fairy lights and the illusion of being in a tree house.   It's called Wood Nymph.  It's our favorite but it was booked.

We did run into rain on the way up and we also saw a fair amount of smoke in the wooded mountains, I'm guessing lightening strikes.  The fire danger has been awful, as you know.  We weren't allowed to build a fire in our fireplace.   Disappointing, but quite understandable.

It sounds like Suz and the family are doing ok.   No aftermath?   Good that Jordan is getting out of that situation.  I seem to remember him getting into a similar situation before ~ hope he has learned that visiting those people is NOT a good idea.

Good luck getting the house sold to the RIGHT PEOPLE so you can relax!

smiley3
Well, time to move to "my" room and let Mike have the Man Cave.   I don't have the heart to make him watch "Days".  LOL

Have a Mahvelous Monday, all!

Denver is back!  The aliens must have returned it.  Given or current political climate, I can't say I blame them ~  I'd like to give it back until our government officials get their heads out of their hineys myself.  Ha!

It stayed deliciously in the 70s yesterday, but we will see the mid-80s today.  I really enjoyed yesterday's cooler temp and overcast skies, but it' hard not to love the mid-80's.

We should get our Grocery Delivery this morning, so we'll be busy for a while putting everything away.  They send an email confirming the delivery the morning it's due, and it looks like they have everything we ordered except the three bags of dry cat food.  That's the first time we've missed dry cat food, though we have had other things not in stock in the past.   We don't allow them to substitute.   It does look like a grocery store in the garage and pantry when we get our order, but don't laugh.  It's pretty nice to be able to go shopping in the garage rather than having to go to the store.
Then tomorrow Marcela comes so I won't be online until later.

Happy, Happy, everyone!

RE:JULY SIGN IN
(Date Posted:07/30/2013 9:10 AM)

Good Tuesday Morning to all.

I am in early as the ladies are coming tonight.  We will be celebrating

Carol's birthday which was in March.  One thing or another has kept

us from getting together since then.  Mostly Carol and her work

schedule and the death of her daughter.  She is horse crazy, lol.

She has a "horse" room.  I got her a paint by number of a mare

and her foal and a frame for the finished product.  Paint by

numbers have come a long way.  I am hoping she will enjoy doing

it.  She had finally cut back on her hours so she will have more

time.  No idea what we are doing for supper.

Yay, Dorothy, for doing your budget....I too am a procrastinator

and it never really pays off does it.  I always say I work best

under pressure, but it is all I know since I always wait to the

last minute.  I cannot do that any more now that I moved all

my bill do dates to the beginning of the month.

We may have a new owner very soon.  Yesterday they showed the

place to a gentleman who looked to be about 30.  He seemed very

interested and said he liked the house a lot.  Also asked us if

we planned on moving or staying, we said we wanted to stay and

he said that was great.  I just hope and pray that if he does

buy that he does not raise out rent. I cannot afford any more.

My schedule to pay off my last, and biggest, credit card has

already been thrown way off.

Did I tell you that my SS Disability check was short $210 this

month.  After calling all around I found out that the state was

no longer paying my Medicare premium and they had to take 2

months out of my check.  When you live on a very limited income

$200 is quite a wallop.  So now my check will be about $105 less

each month.  I called the state about this and I should have gotten

a renewal notice back in April to resubmit info for them to cover my

premium, I never got that and got the notice from SS that it would

be coming out of my check again and that they would be taking 2

months at once 2 weeks after it happened and after I called.  So

2 government agencies dropped the ball and I had to pay for it.  I

have gotten the paperwork and filed it again so keep fingers crossed.

So with my tight budget and having had Jordan's graduation gift to deal

with I was only able to pay a little over the minimum on my credit card

and if they do not pick me up to pay my premium then I will have to

reduce the amount of the payments I was making and it will be a lot

longer to when I will be able to pay off this card, a lot longer.  I

had already increased the amount of money I give my mom each month

for food and cleaning supplies, etc.  My budget has gotten very tight

now :(  Oh well, the story of my life!!

Hugs,

Marcela was here this morning and then we had to run some errands so I'm late.

Lou Ann, I hope you had fun with the girls last night.

What awful news about your losing ~~ temporarily ~~ your SS payments.   I hope you can get it all straightened out quickly and get reimbursed for the money they withheld!
